“ well . . . i’m also here if you need me “ the words feel wrong on galinda’s tongue, but she forces the small smile to her face, trying to meet the wizard’s gaze without pulling away and cowering away behind the fluffy white wings currently tucked at her sides

if there was ever going to be any hope of getting out of this cursed place, any hope of finding fieryo or, more importantly, elphie, she’d need the wizard to let her go, or she’d end up just like elphaba, enemy of all of oz, a monster.

galinda’s bored, to put it simply, she’s scared and she’s exhausted and she’s hungry, but mostly she’s bored. she’s been stuck in this stupid tower for oz knows how long, the only windows in this forsaken room are made of a such a dark green glass that’s impossible to tell when the sun was out and when it had gone to sleep.

but there was nothing to do in this stupid place, all of her stuff was back at her shiz dorm ( unless madame morrible had done something with it ) and the only semblance of a source of entertainment in this room were childrens books on how wonderful and magical the stupid, phony, wizard was. so galinda resigned her to spend her days curled up on the surprisingly comfortable bed, her brand new, and admittedly scary wings, either tucked firmly against her back and wrapped protectively around her almost like a blanket

she flinched at the sound of the two short knocks and the knot turning, and in a flurry of pink and blonde and white, galinda had raced off the bed and into the closet on the other side of the room. she tried to tug the doors shut, tried to make herself fit, but the space was already small her stupid, big wings kept trying to force themselves wider. she didn’t understand how to control them yet, and being locked up in a tower wasn’t helping her get any better at it, so instead of just tucking behind her so she could shut the door, galinda instead had to try and hook the door with the tip of her foot while her hands clutched tightly on the firmer, bony parts of her wings and forced them to stay put, letting them wrapped around and in front of her like a fluffy, feathery, white bubble. “ just! tuck! tuck! you - you - you - “

she only seems to burrow further behind her protective ‘shields’ at the sound of the wizard’s sing songy voice and at being called ‘little birdy’. she wasn’t a bird, and the nickname only make a small scowl spread across galinda’s face. she didn’t think he’d come to see her himself, and if he had she hadn’t been expecting him to bring her dinner. “ i’m not hungry ” it’s lie, she’s starving. the semblance of a meal she had was the snacks she’d eaten on the train to oz with elphie “ so, you can go away now ”

It’s supper time in the Emerald City and though he could be anywhere—dining out at a swanky restaurant with the other well-to-do’s about town, locked in a study or a library or a workshop elbow-deep in some distraction, even crashing a family dinner if he felt so inclined—Oscar finds himself ascending the spiral staircase to the largest of his tower rooms, a prison suite fit for royalty, if it ever came to that. Its sole occupant is far less magnificent, though no less wonderful, than an uppity prince or princess in need of an object lesson about rulership. They may have lost the little green meal ticket, but their consolation prize was just as good, and easily contained in the tower suite.

Although he probably doesn’t need to, Oscar still knocks twice before unlocking and opening the suite’s door. The rolling cart of food was already left on the landing for him, letting him push the cart in and enter with a smile instead of entering sweating and breathless. He locks the door behind him and begins to whistle a jaunty tune. He knows she’s here, somewhere, that she can hear him, and he’s determined to remain the cheerful Wizard he’d already made the mistake of unveiling to her. (The Puppet and fear are so much easier to manage.) The tune he whistles is a foreign one, a back-home earworm of a song. He bustles about a little table on the first floor of the tower suite, setting it for two with a few of the things from the cart. He doesn’t lay the whole meal out now, but a polite salad, a little soup, and four glass chalices: two, green in color, filled with water from a chilled carafe and two, golden in hue, filled with a passable but weak wine.

“…ta-ra-ra boom-de-ay, ta-ra-ra boom-de-ay…oh, uh, little—hah! Oh, little bird-ee-ay, do you feel hun-ger-ay?” What started as a distracted singing along becomes a singsonging question, raising in volume to address the full suite. He pulls a chair out from the table and stands expectantly behind it, one hand folded over the top rail of the chair’s back as he waits for the little lady to show up and take her seat. It won’t do to have a Wizard who’s not also a gentleman, after all.

“Come out, come out, wherever you are…come, come, ah. Dine, huh? I know you must be hungry.” Not to mention lonely. She needs to be kept a secret until they know what they’re going to do with her, and Maggie isn’t likely to have come visiting this one without him. Why, he might just be the first face she’s seen at all today, friendly or otherwise!

Playful Land is one of the coolest theme parks ever! The rides were exhilarating and the attractions were even able to keep finicky Floyd’s attention. However, you noticed something as you were checking out the map once more.

“Hey what’s this thing here?” You asked Fellow as you showed him the map. He stifled a sigh before glancing at the map.

“Oh, that? Why that’s our… ‘Tunnel of Love.’ It’s popular amongst couples, but i’m sure a blossoming young scholar like yourself wouldn’t be interested in something so trivial.”

Fellow clearly didn’t know you very well, because just as he was finishing his sentence you grabbed the hand of the guy you had feelings for and dragged him towards the Tunnel of Love with you!

The stare you gave him had compassion.

❤ Everyone involved in Japanese street fashion and alternative cultures know your name. And as a man who is usually indoors, he hadn't the clue of you.

❤ You can't be too scary with the way Ibuki keeps fawning over your medical abilities like you're a superhero. And to make your credibility even more astonishing, Sonia was thoroughly pleased to hear all of the things you've done. Class 77-B would love you srry.

❤ ^ Ibuki immediately pulls up her phone to show Hajime how you gave her friend pointed ears.

❤ You have a certain glow in your eyes when you get to explain your work to him. Sure, the elf ears are pleasing, but there are so many other things you can do.

❤ At least once a week you try to convince him to get some form of body mod. You should make a argumentative slideshow.

❤ Your hands are really steady. He notices this almost instantly. You have the steadiest hands he's ever seen, very different from how shaky Mikan can appear.

❤ Sometimes he'll catch you staring at him, and you do this thing where you tilt your head as if you're examining his features. You have a hawk-like stare. Though, when his eyes reach yours, you look away with a small smile. In some occasions it creeps him out but in others, he finds it flattering.

❤ You are often forced to hear the life stories of your clients, depending on their modification, some of them feel the need to justify their decision to you. It reminds you of how Hajime gets along with others so well. He's such a good listener and mediator.

❤ Last thing but. Listen okay so realistically how likely is it lore-wise that a SHSL Underground Surgeon would help implement Izuru. Very likely, right? Anywho.

❤ Be careful with him because if he's not gonna know how to hold his tongue if he finds out some of the stuff is illegal. But he has to remind himself that he is friends with the Toko Fukawa, so his lover being an underground surgeon isn't that bad, right?

❤ It's not as if you're torturing anyone... right?

❤ Your SHSL is scary to anybody once they learn it. You just know how they'll look at you when you have to announce it yourself. But like enjoy your craft; your life's work.

❤ He researched you ahead of time, of course he did, but he stopped at the pictures of people with tatted eyeballs, it made him queasy. When he researched your name, he saw a gallery of your work. You're world renowned.

❤ You do carry photos of your work in your backpack. You have a good portfolio of things you'd do. Silicone horns, rare piercings, skin removals. Nothing murderous or bloody like he thought when you pulled out a big, scary leather folder.

❤ And you're not openly sadistic towards him, you never have been. You're likeable - loveable. Nothing like the scary monster other people claim you to be.

❤ When you explain some things you do he's like "oh, so things like nipple piercings?" and you're like "well it's a little more complicated than that-".

❤ He meets one of your patients that has lip plates and he's like ykw not as scary in person as in the photographs you showed me sweetie.

❤ When he talks to you at night, he's always scared to ask "what did you do today?"

❤ ^ Or if you're in your workshop he's scared to ask you what you're doing.

❤ He doesn't have a job, so his time is mostly free, and you always seem to be busy. You're either talking to a new client, refreshing with an old one, or working on somebody. Your life is filled with your business, but that's what makes you a SHSL, doesn't it?

❤ Can't say his family is the most stoked when learning your SHSL.

❤ Slowly but surely he'll want to be apart of your world, but sitll, he'll always get nervous around your more extreme clients. There are times where your client will enter your workshop and have another people with them, and Naegi is more likely to get along with that person, especially if they're just as unaware of this scene as he is.

❤ You think it's a bit funny.

😂 it is a choose violence game, let's play with fire 🔥 three Kim characterizations i don't much care for:

writing Kim as really old

like. hmmmm. i feel like a lot of fic out there is just really bad at characterizing young 20 yos, there are a lot of stories that write Kim's vibes like he's 38 yo or something. it's. bizarre. 21/22 yo is still so young. there's still so much uncertainty at that age and so much self-discovery to come. i've complained about this before so i don't want to just rehash that but. yeesh. some people really kinda suck at writing "kid in college" aged characters.

not letting Kim be playful

honestly, this one kinda follows on the previous point? there's a very annoying trend of writing ~older~ characters as only ever very serious. and like, aside from the irritation at the way people are really bad at early 20s vibes, people never outgrow playfulness. in canon, i'm pointing to Porsche trapping Kinn under the sheets and farting or them huffing their morning breaths in each other's faces (i love u canon ❤). but people still do ridiculous shit at 40/50/60/70/80/ALL THE AGES too. 40yo sisters who greet each other by punching the other in the boob. the 60yo neighbor who tells me my shoelaces are untied every time he sees me in sandals. the 50yo uncle who flicks popcorn in the mouths of anyone who falls asleep during movie night. there's no age limit to this sort of thing!

but while some of the ultra seriousness seems to be a weird age thing, it's like people also missed that Kim is playful? he's very intense when he's in mafia business mode and he's a nightmare to the guards (❤), but he plays along with Khun. he teases Chay. he has a good rapport with other university students. he can be more lowkey playful than others, but Kim's not made of stone, he has his fun too.

Wik being a burden on Kim

this one starts running into differences in headcanon-- like personally, i'm looking for fics where Wik is Kim's home. i've cried about this elsewhere so i'll keep it short, but Wik is the life Kim poured blood, sweat, and tears into to build up brick by brick. Wik is the life Kim wants, it's the parts of him he thinks are the best of him. i actually make the MC of the ep4 university one of Kim's best friends (i call him Green), and one of my favorite headcanons i've come up with for them is that everyone thinks Green twists Kim's arm into doing outreach events, but actually Green is Kim's connection to university news because he loves doing them but never knows who to ask. Kim desperately wants to be a source of good inspiration to others and have purpose outside of violence, and Wik is his way of doing that. Wik is not a burden on Kim (in fact, i'd argue Kim all but said he is a burden on Wik, but i digress).

so, that's my personal preference for Kim's relationship with Wik, but obviously not everyone's going to have the same characterization and that's cool. where i start to get annoyed is when people write him as very...hmm. dismissive? of it. or otherwise seems like he doesn't like any aspect of it. i straight up back click on any fic that has Kim fuck up the name of some popular musician. this is not a specific call out, but for example-- i remember reading something where there was this offhand line of Kim being like "and there's a request for a show with some other musician, wangson jack?" and just. no. back click, goodbye, nope. shit like that really starts to bug me. some of it is personal irritation at how awful a lot of english speakers are towards asian artists (which like. random fandom people are not at fault for the crimes of USamerican music reporters. but maybe consider that until people overall are less shitty and dismissive towards them, one off lines referencing real life musicians like this are better off deleted). but over all i just...really, really dislike disrespectful attitudes like that (esp for something related to the arts) and i don't want to read them in my favorite character. Kim is pursuing a career in the music industry for himself--Kim being, u know, Kim, he's going to take it very seriously and with that, also hold a lot of respect towards his fellow musicians generally speaking. at the very least, he's going to be cordial and pleasant with them because no one likes working with an asshole and Kim is trying to keep his mafia bullshit far away from his Wik goals. not everyone's going to have the same characterization headcanons i do for how much i think Kim would pour himself into music and love it, but i really don't vibe with any take where Wik is a burden on or a drag for Kim.

and a bonus ☕ because i luv u too anon: anything where Kim doesn't love his brothers or sees them as actual competition instead of the ones he wants to protect the most. this is not a surprise to anyone here, u all know how much i love brothers, but i've noticed that fandom gets kinda caught up in the chess metaphors sometimes. and to that i say: 1. Terry Pratchett yall: sin is when you treat people like things. 2. Terry Pratchett again: chess is a stupid ass metaphor for real life. 3. kp canon agrees with that. Korn is shit at playing chess. (the fucking. ep1 game. omfg. Chan is all but eating his pieces to let Korn win. i'm still howling over the scholars mate in ep5.) Korn is noticeably shit at all his hobbies that are metaphors for controlling people. which is the point! the boys fail every time they try to play his games, because you cannot play people like you would a game. every triumph is rooted in overturning the game board completely.

Luka teases the shit out of Hyun-woo, and Hyuna sometimes calms it down, or sometimes joins in the teasing too.

Hyun-woo is the clumsy one, and the one that always gets teased by his friends //and sister

Let’s say the three are walking to class normally, and Hyun-woo would randomly trip on air for no reason

Can I also say he probably has the worst luck too?

Hyuna would definitely say “What would you do if you didn’t have your older sister, to keep you on your feet!”

Hyun-woo is probably the sweetest person in the group too, maybe he gets jealous of Luka always being with Hyuna. But he also does care for Luka too

Hyuna is the peacemaker, but also the popular one in the group. Everyone would know her in school

Probably when Luka teases Hyun-woo or the other way around, Hyuna knows when to stop the teasing or calm it down

Hyuna is definitely also the most energetic one.

He watched as you walked into the room, timid and quiet in your movements despite the commanding dress he’d had made for you. Ever since he had disclosed those bold words of your effect upon his heart from the first moment his eyes had found yours, well, he had perhaps been too bold in stating such a fact openly, without barely knowing you. Yet, how could he not? You were a vision as grand as any illusion conjured in the Sahara. As wonderfully sweet in demeanour as a gentle deer in any lush forest where hunters did not exist.

How, on God’s green earth, could he not fall for your beauty? The gentleness he had witnessed in those eyes of yours, framed by soot and ash, over a week ago. The sweetness of your words as you spoke of him as if he were another man — he knew now, of course, you had not known who he was. That you had treated him kindly and spoken only kindness of a man unknown to you based merely on the words of a friend had only engulfed him further in your beauty.

The moment he had entered his bedroom, seeing you in his bed dressed only in a nightshirt and free of any soot or ash for the first time, his judgement had taken flight and abandoned him with no wits. You had disarmed him so fully, so easily, so honestly — he often found himself to be at a loss for words in your presence. Sure, he was a man of few words to begin with, but never had he lost the ability to form sentences of the simplest kind until you appeared.

As you walked toward him, your eyes cast down while simultaneously flicking about in what appeared an effort to not look at him had his heart twisting uncomfortably. You were far younger than him, but not as young as to it not being within reason for him to house such feelings, surely? The very idea you found him… unappealing , made a coldness slither along his back and stiffen it. But as your eyes darted to his for a moment, there was a small hesitant smile across your lips just a mere step before you were stood by him, beside the naked tree within the ballroom. He wished desperately to reach out and clasp your hand, kiss the back of it and offer you anything within his reach no matter where in the world anything lay that was your heart’s desire.

His hands ached with the want to hold you once more, as he had caught you when you stumbled out of the chimney like his own blessing from the stars, or when he carried you from the forest and had the honour of feeling nearly all of you pressed against him. It was not proper, nor had you indicated he was allowed to touch you in any manner. He cursed his errant heart's desires when there was so little evidence regarding your feelings on the matter.

“Miss Y/l/n,” he said quietly, a deep rumble he couldn’t control. “Colonel Brandon,” you replied gently, sweetly. He wished for the world to fall away so he could speak with you clearly, could affirm the words he’d spoken a week ago the day he first met you and subsequently fell into the pit of desperation and want unlike any he had ever experienced.

You didn’t know what to do, what to say, how to act or even what to do with your fidgeting fingers. He looked at you with such a strange sensation in his eyes. There was nothing but gentleness and kindness visible in them, but the sensation was another matter entirely. Ever since he’d spoken those words, of you breathing life into his heart, your world had tipped on its axis and realigned itself to centre around the gentleman who now spoke so few words to you. Had he perhaps misspoken? Was he changing his mind about the declaration which had nearly burned your skin with its warmth?

You stood beside him, your hands clasped before you while you both looked at the naked, magnificent tree the servants had carried in that very morning. “Such a beauty,” you said with awe as your eyes travelled up to the top where a star would soon sit. “Indeed,” the colonel said in a quiet murmur and you turned to smile at him, only to find him already watching you. Your cheeks heated under that intense look of his.

“Miss, are you finding my estate to your liking?” he asked, yet another question only asking of things that held little importance. Why you wished for him to take a deeper interest in you you could only say was due to the warmth spreading within you each and every time you saw him. “You have a beautiful home, Colonel,” you said and he smiled that little smile of his before he looked away. Could I do it? You wondered. Could you, perhaps, ask a more personal question to show your interest in him?

“Sir,” you began but kept your eyes fixed on the tree as he made it hard to speak without stuttering or stumbling over your words. “Is there-, is there a lady of the house?” You nearly sucked in a breath at the most forward question, you hadn’t been in the servants’ quarter long enough to hear any gossip and now that you were there as his guest they only greeted you with formality. Even Mrs Garber had abandoned any real friendliness and adopted the behaviour of you being a higher citizen. You couldn’t quite wrap your head around it. They were all very nice, friendly, and even kind. They were a happy staff, yet there was no real friendship to be found for you now.

As the silence stretched on, you dared take a peek, only to find him looking at you with barely any emotions in his features; as if he were holding himself still and indifferent. “There is not,” he said after a moment. “Oh, I would have thought-, I mean given-, umh, I…” you stuttered as his eyes never left yours, it was as if your mind could not properly function when he watched you and the way your body nearly purred when he was close had you vibrating as he was just within reach but never actually touched you in any way. It was proper. But it was maddening .

“Given, what? Do explain, miss,” he said, but it wasn’t derogatorily put. A genuine curiosity lingered in his dark voice edged by a warmth unlike any other. “Well—” you averted your gaze and began fidgeting “—given how handsome and kind you are, Sir.” Where the boldness came from you had no idea, but the words had been on your tongue for close to a week now. “You think me handsome?” he asked, a stunned sort of air to him. “Who would not?” you asked, turning in the process to look straight at him. “You are a handsome man.” “I am old,” he countered while for the first time lowering his eyes away from you. “We have a different opinion of what old means, Sir.” “You say that word, in a specific manner, miss.” “What word, Sir?” “That word.” “Sir?” “Yes, you speak it with such respect.” “I have the utmost respect for you, Sir Brandon.” He tilted his head at that, studying you closer all of a sudden.

“Is this due to my age?” he asked, circling back to the subject you held little regard for. You didn’t see an old man, only a handsome and kind one with a strange sort of distance to him. “No, Colonel. I’ve heard stories of you through the city, my former master spoke highly of you but with a certain distaste for your gentleness as he was a cruel—” You shut your mouth before another word could slip out. “Continue,” he ordered. “I do not like to speak ill of—” “Is he the reason you are fidgeting with your hands so incessantly?” It wasn’t a question so much as a quietly spoken demand for answers. You only nodded. “His name?” “I shall not speak, Sir. If you’d excuse me, I do not feel well all of a sudden,” you said in a quick lie. The memories of Lord Burlington were still too fresh. Your skin and flesh still felt the sting of his crop, held by him or his loyal butler.

You walked far too swiftly towards the door but before you could open it a warm hand grabbed yours. You froze mid-step as lightning seemed to strike you from his soft but steady touch. “Miss,” he said in a quiet drawl. “You shall speak the name so I can sever all ties.” Those were the words he spoke but the threat under them was far clearer than you’d care to admit. “You wish to shame the lord?” you asked. “He is but one of many who treat us with… severity.” “I wish to invite him to the day I shall make you mine, and he shall see what a beauty he harmed and realise he is done for, my sweet.” “The day—” Your breath hitched as his hand tightened only for his eyes to widen a second later and release you.

He turned away, his hand fisting before relaxing as he watched the naked tree while your blood pounded in your ears and your heart hammered beyond what should have been possible. The tension lay thick in the air while the silence stretched. “I have spoken too rashly,” he admitted. “Forgive my assumption, miss.” “A-assumption?” you managed to force out between laboured breaths. “That I hold a candle bright enough to capture your flame. Much like this tree misses its star, you have been my missing star. Bright, gentle, light…”

The words he spoke, so kind but sorrow-filled, twisted your heart as you watched his usually straight shoulders slump. You’d spent a week falling for him from a distance. Each gentle word to his staff, every confident step, all the little looks and smiles gifted in your direction. A true gentleman at heart, holding the respect of many yet naming you his missing star — the most important decoration of a Christmas tree and guiding light to those lost.

“Sir…” “Do not fret, my sweet,” he interrupted without looking at you. “I am accustomed to rejection.” “Accustomed to— What? Colonel Brandon I—” “It’s been many years though, as I’ve not offered myself to anyone. Before you, it was never anyone of true importance either.” “Importance? Sir, I’m a scullery maid. I have no—” “Do not finish that sentence,” he said as he swung around, his gentle eyes widened. “You are of the greatest importance, little star.”

Your mouth turned dry while your stomach churned and warmed under his stare. The harshness that mingled with the kindness in his eyes was a warming thing to be witnessed by. You wished to feel those strong arms wrap around you, holding you close while his gravelly voice whispered those sweet nicknames which had from time to time slipped out of that thin mouth of his you wondered what it felt like to kiss.

“I’m not rejecting you, Sir.” Those were the only words you managed to push out as your throat closed up. His brows lifted, surprise marring his face. “You-, you are not?” he asked and you shook your head. “Then, what are you doing?” “I-, I-,” you began, but how were you to speak of what he made you feel? He, a respected colonel with such grace and wealth to him, was far beyond your reach. You had done your best to tamper down your feelings, the building need in your entire body for him which only grew with each passing day.

You took a step back, as if your body knew it could not have what it wished for and tried to increase the distance. “Do not walk away from me, miss,” he said, but there was no harshness to his voice. “I’m not worthy,” you whispered. “My heart says otherwise.” “But I’m not— And you’re—” “My sweet,” he said, interrupting your clumsy attempt at forming words. “You are far beyond worthy. I knew, from the moment our eyes met and you spoke so kindly. There is more value in you, my missing star, than most in high society.”

You shook your head, as if you couldn’t believe the words he spoke. Yet, the moment he grasped your trembling hand it was as if the world fell away. There was only him, his kind eyes, his sweet warmth. The soft touch of his thin lips against your knuckles nearly had you undone right then and there.

General Kashiko Murasaki Romantic Headcanons

📱 Kashiko would be the type of girlfriend to pretend to her friends and everyone else's faces that you don't exist to her, but in private she's all over you. It would be one of does relationships where her image and popularity matter more to her than your relationship.

📱 As if to make up for the cold treatment she gives you at school, Kashiko brags nonstop to her friends about her supposed partner and how amazing they are to her. She'll make sure to always praise you to them whenever she sees you around, loudly exclaiming how much you mean to her and how perfect you are. Bragging about all of the dates you two go to and how much effort you make for her and how much of a better partner you are to her than the partners her friends have. Kashiko makes sure to show her friends and everyone around her how proud she is of her supposed relationship without involving you, and of course, everyone believes her! They've never seen or heard her supposed partner's name but it's Kashiko's word against theirs, so who cares!? Kashiko just hopes it pleases you just as much as it pleases her to praise you so openly to the whole school without exposing anything that she doesn't want to say.

📱 When in your presence, be that on dates or by just being next to you, Kashiko makes an effort to be nicer to the people around her who aren't just you. She may put on an act about not even knowing who you are in her friends' faces, but she always suitably tries to be nice about it if she can. Whenever she says something that she shouldn't have because it's rude and you nudge or criticize her for it she reluctantly but immediately tries to fix her mistake. It does take time and patience though, and as much as Kashiko pretends like she doesn't appreciate you trying to help her be better, she secretly does cause she can't believe you actually believe or love her enough to even try. The results are slowly showing though, she didn't scream at the lady in the store for taking too long to scan her items, so that's something at least!

📱 You are probably the only person to know the truth about Kashiko's secret. This shows that despite the way she treats you differently in public or private she trusts you a lot and that you matter to her immensely. She'd admit to you that she's actually mixed race as if it's something to be ashamed of and that she hopes you won't think less of her for it. Imagine Kashiko's surprise to you not even caring at all about this information, you'd brush it off as it's not a big deal at all and begin to ask her various questions about it and say how that explains a lot and how cool it is to know. Depending on how you word it or you react Kashiko may just start crying over hearing/seeing such overwhelming acceptance from you, something she's never received from anyone. She'll cling to you as if her life depends on it as she cries all of her years of pain away, just grateful to have someone who continues to love her despite this.

📱 Has a full album of pictures of just you on her phone, some with her, some without her, the point is she has a whole section dedicated to you on her phone. It ranges from the most aesthetic/model-like pictures to the most boring/uneventful pictures out there. Kashiko will basically grab any opportunity she can get to snap a picture of you no matter how you look or what you are doing, she just adores you so much that she can't help it! She gushes over each and every one of them, whining about how she can't show them off to her friends or even the world to see, she just wants to show you off but you both know she can't. But in a way that makes her love the pictures even more because they are only for her to see and enjoy, every time she's having a bad day, one look at one of those pictures instantly makes her whole week and she's smiling uncontrollably for the rest of the day.

📱 Kashiko's love language includes words of affirmation and physical touch! This is something most if not all of the bullies have in common. During school hours Kashiko pretends as if you don't exist, she will treat you coldly and act as if your very existence bothers her, but if you squint hard enough you can tell this treatment she gives you hurts her deep inside. That's why she's all over you as soon as you two are alone with no one around to discover your secret relationship. She'll nuzzle against you as she begs for forgiveness in the most childish way possible, making you question if she even means what she's saying. Despite this Kashiko does feel bad that she values her popularity more than you so she makes sure to shower you with as much love in private as she can. She'll be all over you, kissing you all over as she makes sure that she's always holding you in some way. She'll praise you for being such a good and patient partner with her and how she's so lucky to have someone as amazing and understanding as you. Just expect to never have time for yourself when you two are together, cause this girl is not letting you go till she makes sure all is forgiven and you're reminded of her love.

📱 As I've touched on slightly above, Kashiko's other love language is words of affirmation! And that means that you will be dropped into a world full of praise! And coming from someone as proud as her that means a lot! at least in her opinion, Kashiko will make sure to praise you any chance she gets, whether it's to your face or in conversation with her friends she's always saying how great you are and that you are the only person worthy of her love. She's also a natural flirt who can come up with a pick-up line on the fly without trying, that's how good she is. Surprisingly Kashiko knows what it's like to be insecure about something, so when she knows you're feeling down over something you may not like about yourself, she's quick to remind you that she only settles for the best, so whatever you're worried about is already perfect enough in her eyes so there is nothing to feel anxious about. But if you need a more tender reassuring then Kashiko will try to give it to you, it will be very awkward cause being vulnerable is something she's not used to, but she'll try to gently tell you how she will love you regardless as she kisses you all over your face for added reassurance.

📱 Although Kashiko is a big lover of PDA, she'll only ever partake in it in specific areas where she knows none of her friends hang out. Kashiko doesn't care if a random person from school catches you two, they are just a nobody, and no one will believe them, unlike if her friends catch her with someone not so popular. If she knows she's in a space where she constantly doesn't feel the need to check if anyone is watching then she's clinging to you like never before. Holding your hand tightly in hers, nuzzling her face against your arm, or just flat-out hugging you out of nowhere, not caring who watches. That said, PDA is only reserved during times when Kashiko is absolutely sure none of her friends will catch her, if you two are somewhere where her clique would usually be then she'll detach herself from you immediately, creating distance with you as she pretends she doesn't know you exist. But as soon as you two are in the clear she clings to you all over again as if nothing happened.

📱 Since your relationship is a secret, Kashiko makes sure to shower you with kisses every chance she gets. Sometimes during school hours if she's feeling desperate she'll pull you aside somewhere where no one will see and without a chance for you to react she'll already have her lips on yours. Kashiko's kisses are always passionate, desperate, and hungry, showing you how much she misses being in your presence, making sure to show you through the kiss how much she hates not being able to be public with you and how sorry she is for it. Kashiko's favorite spot to kiss you is your lips, it's no surprise really when you consider how little she gets to show you her love during school hours so she makes sure to make up for it on her favorite spot to kiss you. It's the most intimate place and it always gets the right message out to you about her feelings for you, therefore it's her favorite.

📱 Anything involving physical affection Kashiko lives for, so why would cuddles be any different!? Out of everything that I've mentioned, cuddles are Kashiko's guilty pleasure because it's the only time she can be the most intimate with you without worrying that anyone will catch you two in the act. I like to think Kashiko is a switch with a heavy preference for being the little spoon, she'll press herself tightly against you, wanting to be entangled in your arms as you shield her from the world. This is also her most vulnerable state and the only time you'll ever see her like that, it's when all of her fears and insecurities come to life. She will cry if you decide to reciprocate and whisper words of encouragement and reassurance into her ear, how everything she worries about you absolutely love and won't have it any other way, let me tell you she'll cling to you and will never want to let you go after that, she appreciates the gesture immensely, more then you'll ever know in fact. Kashiko is always warm, so cuddling during the summer is always a pain, especially because she can't go a single day without multiple cuddles. But during winter you cannot be more glad than to have a literal fireplace as a girlfriend!

📱 No matter if it's during school hours or not, Kashiko sees everyone as a threat even if the person in question is just a friend or someone that truly means no harm, Kashiko will always feel like she's competing over you with them. The worst is at school though, how is she supposed to make sure no one tries to steal you away from her when her reputation forces her to pretend like you don't even exist!? That being said she does step over the line just enough sometimes to make the point come across without endangering her image. As soon as the person gets on her nerves enough, be that touching you or their words become more flirty with each word then that's where Kashiko steps in. "Are you seriously interested in them? I didn't think anyone would be this desperate to date such a nobody!" Kashiko would mock with a laugh before walking past you two, knowing already that it was all it took to make the person back off out of fear of their image being worse by being with you. The worst part is that Kashiko knows it was wrong and cruel to say something like that, especially because she didn't mean it. There is no better option than you, and if it was anyone else she wouldn't have cared nearly enough to later catch you alone and cry all of her apologizes to you. She'll beg for your forgiveness as she showers you with praise and that she never meant those words, that she only said them to protect you, and that you mean everything to her. She'll shower you with love and affection as she holds you tightly against her, promising to make it up to you and that she'll always love you.

📱 Although Kashiko would prefer to go to a fancy restaurant with you for a date, she knows it'll risk her getting caught, so she settles for less fancy outings. Museums, arcades, aquariums, picnics or just staying home are the types of dates Kashiko doesn't have to worry about being caught at by her friends. Even though she hated the idea of some of these like the museum, she decided that if it's with you she doesn't mind. And it's true because each time you two go somewhere she would rather die than be caught going there alone, she always ends up having a blast because you make it fun and interesting for her. Staying-at-home dates are her favorite though, because you two get to reenact the idea of going to a restaurant by turning the dining area into a fancy enough space to make the fantasy come true. It's moments like these where Kashiko appreciates you the most, because despite everything she puts you through you still go all out and put up with her.

📱 Kashiko as a girlfriend is such a mixed bag it would really take a lot out of a person to even tolerate half the things she does. Between her being a horrible person to other people with no remours and her acting cold towards you during school hours, she does make sure to make up for it though in private. There is not a single day where you aren't reminded by her how much she loves you and that you are literally the most important person in her life because you know her secret and accept her regardless of it. Your dating life will basically have two sides to it, the cold nonexistent kind and the overflowing loving type of one, the question is, are you willing to put up with it for just a slice of paradise?

Hmm. I'm not really keeping up with people's music tastes anymore (except for you guys). But in middle school, everyone was obsessed with Panic! At the Disco, while I just couldn't vibe with them, so I was mildly worried I'd get defenestrated for it. I didn't, though the chairs did (my class was unique in that they'd slingshot chair seats out of the window by thing them with curtain beads, and they'd kinda just peacefully swing in and out till recess was over)

Not a jewelry person. I did use to have a kitty brooch... but the thing with brooches is, they are perfect for self-poking especially when you're so naturally inclined, so I gave it up.

Ouch, I'm really so out of touch with movies, and these days I'm watching what's very much not popular with people (except for Interstellar. Interstellar is baby). Probably any of the Pride and Prejudice adaptations, I had to go through them for a course, and you couldn't pay me to sit down with them again.

These things so do not come naturally to me. Probably because I'm the type never to think if I can do something and just act, so pride just feels like spur-of-the-moment joy. Though, I'm really starting to think that's just what pride is.

Ooooh, you find out like this I'm a bit of fraud come next week. (And it's still leaps and bounds classier than the 1967 Far From the Madding Crowd adaptation of Troy's... fencing mating rituals. Why was I made to watch that with mine eyes🤣🤣)

I'm in a fandom? Since when? Jokes aside, probably Tomoyo and Kurogane from CLAMP's Tsubasa Reservoir, because HELL NO. Tomoyo crushes hard on Sakura, and you just can't separate Kurogane from Fai. You can't. It'd cost him an arm and maybe a leg also this time.

Damn, I can't go with "everything" again, can I? Would've been even truer than with Soap, honestly...

But it's actually easy to choose one thing about her: it's the whole jorney of her relationship with death. From the starting point, where she's angry, blazing hot, ready to fight with no clear understanding where it'll lead her, through the whole fragile hope of fixing her engine and growing determination to have her revenge and take back what's been stolen from her (a whole separate additional path with the romance and the evolution of her love expression), to the deepeest pit of despair and defeat after even her relentless optimism can't defy her mortality; and finally - the acceptance of it and the newly solidified will to live to the fullest, no matter how short. (And the happy end epilogue, obviously. Her finally regaining that autonomy, but not through the path of a one on one revenge, but in a fight next to person/people who have her back, with Karlach in the center of it, opposite to how Gortash was kinda the focus at some point.)

Karlach is unique and so precious to me in the sense, that while she accepts her non-existent chances of survival (to the point where she's fully ready to go and you have to CONVINCE her to go back to Avernus), it's neither defeatist nor calm. Her flame stays blazing hot even when she stops fighting her own death directly, it does not get tamed into some inner peace. She makes peace with her situation, yes, but she does not stop being her passionate flammable self.

This is actually why I absolutely do not accept the ceremorphosis ending for her as any kind of compromise. She describes her flame feeling calmer, less hot in the dialogue you can have after, and to me it signals the most that there is nothing of Karlach left in that creature. Karlach knows peace and calm, but they are not cool for her.

At least in my opinion, of course.

least favorite thing about them

Apart from the horrible fact that we had to wait for HOW LONG to get at least somewhat a happy ending with her (still not the full package unlike some other companions)???? Hm. That's actually tough. Uhhh... uhh...

That she seems to be reluctant towards polyamory?.. I mean, no other character (and only one person irl) made me feel as ready to go into an exclusive relationship as her, so it's not even bothering me that much; but I am too much of a poly ass to not want to have a huge ass polycule where Karlach would be at the centre of all big cuddles and absolutely showered with love LIKE SHE DESERVES.

The whole monologue is the best. Probably the best moment in the whole game to me. But this line is the one that makes my tears flow every fucking time. I can watch the monologue on x2 speed that takes away half of the performance. I can hear it alone with the rest of the scene cut. I can fucking read the words and hear her voice in my head.

And I will always cry. It's not just about Karlach alone. It's too much how I have felt about the world for years.

brOTP

Karlach x Wyll, I guess?... Them and Karlach x Astarion are my top-2 origin ships (bloodspawn in first place because it seems to be less popular and I am that bitch that wants to be nOt lIKe oThErs. in reality, simply because the most popular ones are usually the most obvious ones and there's not too much to study, so I love them, but am not as hooked by them. does it make sense?), and I guess if I'm making Karlach kiss a Scottish mutt, the closest Wyll can get to her heart is being her bestest friend. There is no world where they aren't together in some form to me, though, are you kidding me, this whole game is about them fiercely loving each other BEYOND death. If your friends aren't what Wyll and Karlach are, are they even your friends, hm?

She deserves to have such a friend after 10 (more, since we should count the years she thought Gortash was her friend) years of having no friends/backstabbing cunts close. He deserves to have such a friend after he literally gambles at the highest stake instead of following through with his pact. They deserve each other and no less.

Karlach x Soap, the rest is secondary. I know what my heart wants.

nOTP

Once again, I reject the cocept of nOTP, however this is the easiest answer. Karlach x Gortash and other toxic shit like Karlach x Zariel or smth. No. No amount of interestinig to explore complicated dynamics can be enough to fully submerge myself and go unbiased into a work on this ship. Sometimes I can let go of my gruges for a short time and look into stuff with no bias, this is not it.

random headcanon

She's actually really good with mechanics. Can understand the principle of work of an unknown invention just from a few looks and if you give her some suitable details will be able to fix shit real good. Maybe not the one to invent her own stuff, but she can construct and deconstruct quite complicated things relatively easy. However, can and will get frustrated easily if something doesn't go smoothly, so maybe keep an eye on her so she doesn't smash your precious one of a kind invention in a fit of rage...

Uhm. Uhhhh. I really don't know?? Oh my god no, am I actually gonna be the one to say "she's not all sunshine and rainbows" when I scrunched my nose like a rat at spoiled milk when someone said this about Soap... but really, I don't know what's popular, but maybe people aren't paying that much attention to her trauma and the serene and sad parts of her? Compared to Astarion, for example. There's so much shit she's carrying and if some people see her as JUST a golden retriever (which she totally is, but also more), that's what I don't agree with. But I don't know if it's unpopular, I'll be glad to know that I'm wrong.

A separate shoutout to "Chalk Outlines" by Ren and CHINCHILLA, because this has some Karlach x Astarion feel to it. Love both live and studio version to death. But like, a lot of punk/angry/old rock songs remind me of her. She's forever in my heart.

However, in game it's the whole Avernus ending scene. CIGARS THAT SHE LIGHTS UP WITH HER FINGERS?? That nose wrinkle and a little nod before she takes off to a badass soundtrack? The contrast between this and the heartbreaking scene just before? The happiness of her finally having an ally who's willing to go to hell for her? Yeah that shit's cathartic.
