Paraphrasing myself from a youtube comment on an analysis of Signalis:

if Lilith was erased from records and public memory, that would definitely contribute to why her relation to Anja and the twins is unclear. Anja could've been her sister or cousin, but when I tried to prove/disprove whether it was possible that the Itou twins weren't too old to be Lilith's own children, part of the challenge is translating the calendar format to Vinetan days and years.

If I did it right, I was able to calculate that a "cycle" is ~22.61 hours (the fraction I got was 240000/10613), and a 365-day year contains ~8766 hours, which would round up to 388 cycles… however, regarding how long it's been since Lilith's dispatch when Ariane was a radio officer, a span estimated at ten years was extrapolated from Ariane Yeong and Rebecca Liang's medical files, which actually just state how far apart they are in age relative to the Rotfront calendar. In the Rotfront calendar system, S doesn't seem to align with its local solar rotation. Maintaining the assumption that Rotfront is Europa, a Jovian year is 4,333 Earth days, or almost 12 years. If S were a Jovian year, Ariane would be 47 years older than the Itou twins, so that can't be it.

In the patient records, dates range as follows: S = -6 to 18, P= 6 to 76 and a-d. Notably, Roswita Fong*, the one with the same brow marks seen on KLBR units, was born a negative number, which may suggest she was born 6S before the installation of the Rotfront calendar. (This would support the assumption that S is counting from the founding of the Nation.)

Now, if S is the year, that makes Ariane older than Nikolai Nguyen by 3S and younger than Rebecca Liang by 10S. But as for those last letters in Rotfront dates, a-d may correspond with quartering Rotfront's orbit around Jupiter (~84 hours) into four 21-hour spans. The only catch is, while the patient files only list a-d, ADLR-S2301 dates his journal entries as days 6-9 preceding A-C, until finally dating all entries 84-21-D. This may or may not set the events on Sierpinski when Ariane would be 66S, but if a cycle is estimated to be 22 hours and 36-37 minutes, that's pretty close to 21 hours. (It is also possible that a cycle is 21 hours.) Those entries were written leading up to and during the distortion, so Adler may have been getting mixed up between Leng's and Rotfront's dating formats at that point.

So back to Ariane. If she and the twins were close enough in age at 4S apart to have been schoolmates, S still has a chance of being a conversion of a Vinetan (Earth) year from 365 days to 388 cycles. Anja Itou said to look at the last six digits on her daughters' PKZ and recall their homeworld (Vineta) when mentioning that the passcode to the library was their birthday.

If Isa and Erika were born May 24, '56, and that date = 14S 52P c, -6S 20P a = Feb. 2, '35 and 8S 12P b = Jan. 6, '50. And if -6S = year '35 and and 8S = year '50, then 15 Vinetan years = 14S. That may disprove S = 388 cycles, but cross-examining that with Rotfront = Europa is probably the key to finishing the translation of a Rotfront calendar. This is as far as I could get by myself (ft. wolframalpha).

*Regarding the theory that Roswita was a neural donor: it all depends on the extent of that level being a recreation of the past built from Ariane's memories and whether the Kolibri line was already in production. That medical record may have been destroyed by 84-21 (Leng calendar? Rotfront calendar?), but with her being a "retired" Replika technician, that snapshot of Rotfront may have been based on the timeframe between Roswita's "neural archival" and the manufacturing of KLBR, such as if her candidacy were under final assessment at the time.

The red starbursts (tattoos?) are probably how the Eusan Nation marks known bioresonants. They're featured on the cover of Bioresonance Technology and its Limitations, and Falke has them too. The shape and placement are almost identical, just slightly elongated and partially covered by her hair. Kolibris' hairstyle may leave their starbursts so exposed as a reminder not to underestimate them just because they're short, but Falke already has halos and kotinos, and she towers over everyone. She's already decked out in reminders for everyone to know their place around her.

Holding the cow figure close, he moves over to look at the book. Ah. It's just old and a little rough around the edges, a glass display case to keep it safe, not to protect visitors. A sigh of relief as he relaxes a little.

For those in the aromantic&asexual lines: I don't have a HC what their sexual/romantic identity is, I guess I'm open to any interpretation there. For the people in the pan&bi and gay&lesbian lines, I mostly HC their romantic identities to allign with their sexual ones.

(I saw someone musing about whether or not Kaoru is trans* (since identical twins usually share the same biological sex) and... I can't see how? Him "having the wrong genitals" (as in: him being AMAB) is a fact important to his backstory and he seems to have always identified as boy/man, even before the attack on his village, no matter what the Nagumo did to him. (Kaoru and Chizuru being oni is probably an excuse for how it's possible that they're identical twins with different sexes). But it's a trans* spectrum so while I can't see how he could be MTF trans*, maybe he's GNC/demi-boy/agender/enby?)

Muse #5- Shinsuke Takasugi

Age 28-29 ( manga and anime )

Takasugi Shinsuke was the leader of the Kiheitai, a wanted fugitive figurehead. He was the main recurring antagonist in Gintama before the appearance of Utsuro, later becoming Gintoki's ally again.

Takasugi was born in a strict lower-class samurai family. When introduced, he is shown to be disillusioned with his wealthier samurai peers and his own family as he goes to a prodigious military academy. This causes him to be reckless, like when during school training, he defeats some boys and mocks them for being useless rich kids. This results in him being targeted by the defeated boys' older siblings and accidentally putting his only friend, Katsura, in danger. They are saved by Shouyou and his mysterious first student, Gintoki. Takasugi learns of the strange school Shouyou opened that teaches poor children, Shouka Sonjuku.

Takasugi spent the next ten years continuing his Joui activities underground, reforming the Kiheitai with the single-minded ambition to destroy Japan for taking Shouyou from him. Takasugi is defined by his tenacity and unfeigned ambition to destroy the world. He is a charismatic individual, and all of his soldiers willingly trust and assist him in his desire. He is driven by anger and guilt that is seen through every action he takes. Takasugi rejects the change of the world and refuses to see anything other than the path of total destruction. His cold nature is widely feared by those who are conscious of him.

Generally, though, Takasugi is quiet and more of a listener than a speaker. He rarely ever takes action himself, using caution and tricks to his benefit and often being uncannily apathetic about things. He appears to be avidly watching those around him, and he was quite aware of Itou Kamotarou's desire to have friends, Okada Nizou's desire of destruction, and being very receptive to the opinions of others since most of his men were recruited with similar ideologies in mind.

Although Takasugi is cemented as a cruel and nefarious adversary, he has a particular tendency to humor people. Sometimes, Takasugi's yukata is a complicated pattern of mountains, flowers, and fog, but in the anime, it was turned into a very simple-looking yukata with yellow butterflies and a "fog" of yellow at the very end. His jacket, however, remains a constant: a dark green jacket carefully patterned with gold swirling lines.

Ah. Right, there was no leaving the Hunting Dogs. Ever. But there is comfort in that for Sachio and he finds he’ll never mind it for the moment. Giving a hum, he enjoys the softer affection, closing his eyes for a moment and just resting there. Maybe he had lost a little too much blood but it was nothing to worry about at this moment. The tender moment between hot kisses was enough. 

“That sounds like it’d be good training, to test our skills.” A sniper had to be good at hiding and an assassin had to be good at finding. Though he feels like it’d end in a way that wouldn’t be as appropriate for work… it’d be fine should no one find out, right? A small chuckle as Itou presses a soft kiss on his senpai’s lips. “Why would I run?” A question in return as he returns the kiss as well, letting it linger for just a moment before the younger is pulling back. Eyes watch the other for a moment, studying the slightly blurry details before him before he closes his eyes and just rests in this embrace. It’s warm and the hand on his back is soothing, calming down the bit of anxiety that still clung to him, simply listening to Murakami as they spoke.

“!!” A startled gasp leaves his throat as he finds himself pulled back against the desk, keenly aware of how this would look should anyone enter at this moment. Soft brown eyes focus on the soldier below him, on how things looked in blurry detail. After a moment, the younger pouts and rests his head on Murakami’s chest. His cheeks burn bright as he tries to hide it a little. A bed. That was a step far too quick and Itou would surely stumble and fail. “I… never done stuff like this before… so can we take it slow?”

A glance up through messy dark hair, letting his chin rest on the elder’s chest as he watches for a moment. The tease on his weakness has irritation peek, but the sound and feel of the laughter underneath him softens it. “If I’m so weak then you should help me learn to be stronger, Senpai-” The want to be stronger is there, to be able to hold his own without needing someone to cover his failings even as he returns a few of those gentle kisses. 

The question throws him off guard, eyes watching for a moment. “...Only if you promise to not disappear-” Itou doesn’t think he’d be able to handle losing a loved one again. "I wonder how many flowers would bloom from my heart-" Maybe enough to cover the forest in soft yellow petals-

ㅤㅤㅤ *.·:·.★ーTo find themselves in his arms & have him embrace them so gently yet so firmly left their heart aflutter with excitement; it was those kinds of moments that truly made Murakami all the timider & easier to handle. They may be a reckless force to reckon with, but deep down they were yearning for softness, for closeness. Their heart beat so fast against their ribcage as they met the other's chest flush against their own, surely Itou would be able to feel the quickness of their heartbeat, sighing sweetly against their kiss.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ Watching carefully as he removed his glasses, a small pout on their lips since he had to let them go in order to do so, however, all the happier once his arms were wrapped around their small frame, smirking sweetly at the question posed; it was interesting to hear the sniper ponder about these things. ❝I would let you if you truly wanted to escape me... you are kept hostage here. & I would let you playfully, of course, pretending that you won by running away & hiding until I find you & make you mine again. It's exciting like this, isn't it?❞ Playing with their food? Perhaps. But the dark-haired man was more than just NUTRITION to them ー Haruki truly was infatuated with that man & they wish to express it better than with their quirky nature. Even still, the faux-blond somehow hoped that the two of them would figure it out along the way. ❝Do you want to run away from your senpai?❞ With a soft voice, they returned the question, hushed softly against his lips before leaning in for another peck, keeping the gestures sweet & kind, innocent for now, only because they wanted to hear him say his part.

ㅤㅤㅤ Receiving that soft sight however made them blink at the other with bigger eyes, watching as the younger pressed his face against the crook of their shoulder, hands resting on his forearms, loosely, to give him some space if he needed. Was he even more flustered now? Of course, the question would indicate that he was unsure just how far they wanted to take it. There was no limit to what they wanted, being greedy & possessive, however, they were aware of how unnatural it may come off & thus decided to put a brake on their actions. Something that they had to learn with a very patient senpai a long time ago. Funny, how now it came in handy.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ Resting their head against his before they wrapped their arms around him, hugging him tightly, rubbing his back gently. ❝Naturally, I want all you can offer. I am just greedy like that. Anything, I will eat it up.❞ Rocking them gently before they threw themselves back onto the desk, lying down & pulling their partner with them, even if it may seem risqué as to what they may be doing, it was an act of innocence, really: just wanting to be able to hold Itou close, cling onto him & allowing him to rest against them if he needed to; he still looked a bit out of it from the blood loss, even when he was so keen on telling them that he had been fine. Placing a hand gently onto his head to ruffle his hair, they chuckled. ❝I think a bed would be more comfortable for those things, though. Besides, you already look like you would faint any moment from what we are doing at the moment... Chi-iro-chan is such a weakling~ such a pathetic man~! Kyahaha!❞ Despite their demeaning words, they peppered a few gentle pecks against his cheek & the rest of his face, showing that their words were just more teasing, & they did not feel that way about him.

The man is rather focused on the menu, debating on which tea seemed to be most fitting of the current season and weather but also complimenting his mood. Gyokuro sounded like a good fit for today, a bit extravagant and excessive, but Itou did enjoy the flavor. With his order in mind, the man steps towards the counter, pausing to see a young boy looking over the menu in clothes that reminded him of his childhood.

"Hello. What tea will you be getting? I can order and pay for it?" The nice thing to do for the kid.

Today I made one from the red clovers I was growing. But a matcha tea would have been nice today too. What about you, Senpai? What is your favorite?”

She claps her hands together happily once she sees him hand over the bento, she finds it to be honestly quite adorable! She loves stuff like this! And gosh, the food looks so good, her mouth is practically watering... food is the best gift to offer her besides getting her some of her favorite lotions and perfumes and such. But food is the easiest one, she's not picky at all with most foods. " Oooo is that so?! That's awesome! Haha, can't wait to try some of your tea if you enjoy making it so much. What's your favorite kind of tea? "

As appreciative as I am about kudos, it would be nice to hear more from readers if they enjoy my stories.

Personal favorite: There’s a special place for each fic in my heart, so I’ll talk about seven of them:

A Siege of Shadows – this is my Hijikata psychological/horror fic and probably the one I’m most proud of. I invested a lot into this fic, everything from various topics of research to careful selection of songs for each chapter’s mood. Sorry, Toushi, for putting you through a hellish nightmare of a tale.

Until Silence Prevails – delving into the dark depths of Takasugi’s mind. It’s my shortest fic, but still packed with meaning.

Keep Walking Forward Until You Never Look Back – this is a multi-chapter, character study on Sasaki Tetsunosuke, which is the first of its kind for Tetsu, I believe. I fleshed him out more and focused on his bond with the Shinsengumi, Hijikata in particular.

The Key to Success Is to Plan for Failure – a multi-chapter Katsura-led comedy fic featuring POV scenes from almost the entire main Gintama cast. This fic was a monster to write, utterly exhausting, yet a worthwhile venture for me.

The Transience of Dawn – an Itou character study focusing on three events in his life. It’s set before he reunites with the Shinsengumi in what will be his final days. Itou is my favourite antagonist after Takasugi, so I had to write about him.

Finding the Light That Never Fades – my favourite HijiTae fic of all the ones I’ve written, thus far. This combined comedy and drama with a touch of angst and romance, as Hijikata and Tae navigate their deepening friendship and budding attraction to one another.

Finding Our Place in the Sun – a fic about Tae and Tsukuyo spending time together. That’s pretty much all there is to it, because Tae and Tsukuyo content is still a scarcity in this fandom, and that’s a darn shame.

Current WIPs: Violet Moon Rising, which is a Tsukuyo-led film noir-inspired fic dedicated to @arirna. A Rabbit with No Name, a Kamui-centric AU in which almost everyone, including Kagura, has died as the result of a powerful android invasion. I do intend to update these fics once time allows me to, as I’m quite busy at the moment.

I also have several unpublished, semi-complete Gintama fics that I’ve accumulated over the last 15 years since I started dabbling in Gintama fic (but never finishing or posting anything until 2017, lol).

Favorite type of fic: I like writing a variety of fic. I’ve done character introspections, romance, comedy, action, psychological, horror/supernatural, time travel, and mysteries. Basically, whenever and whatever the muse strikes and provides, I may just write it. However, I’m slow with updates, because fan fic isn’t a priority.

As far as fic-reading habits go, pretty much the only Gintama romance fic I write or read is HijiTae whenever someone writes a new one, whether that someone is me or others. I have dabbled in fic for two other ships (it’s a secret; please don’t ask because I really won’t be telling!), but they’re unpublished and unfinished. If I ever do finish them, I may publish them with my pseudonym account (also a secret).

Beyond that, I like to read character studies, mysteries/psychological, or comedy/gen fic that involves characters other than the Yorozuya because there are already so many dedicated to them. Whatever catches my eye depends on whenever I check Gintama’s AO3 section.

Writing habits: I don’t think I have any standout ones. I just write whenever I can, especially if the muse is strong. Also, I read. Writers must always be reading. Don’t only read fan fic. Read other fiction, non-fiction, anything you can. Read inside and outside your favourite genre. Study the different styles. Read, and then write; write, and then read. Keep up a daily writing and reading routine if you can.

Fic recs: I’ve read many with interesting concepts, but, to keep it short, I’ll rec five Gintama fics.

Plan B by xxkoffeexx – the second HijiTae fic ever written in English back in 2009, and it’s dedicated to me by an old friend.

Your World by xxkoffeexx – a story about when Takasugi was a hero, not a villain, to somebody.

Jump is best when fought over by maydreamer – a short but meaningful Zenzou fic, as he tries to buy Jump magazine in a world without Gintoki.

They Say It’s Only the Worst Day of Your Life So Far by StarryDustandFluffyStuff – a fic on Katsura’s wartime experiences following Shouyou’s death.

Tiger Mom by gettinyinggywithit – a Tsukuyo introspective fic on education, family, and her role in Seita’s life.

“My Senpai Is Annoying (先輩がうざい後輩の話, ‘Senpai ga Urusai Kouhai no Hanashi’) is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by Shiromanta. The anime will premier in 2021 and is directed by Ryouta Itou at Doga Kobo.

The series will be directed by Ryota Itoh, with Yoshimi Narita overseeing the series' scripts, Shigemitsu Abe designing the characters, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi composing the series' music. It will premiere on October 10, 2021 on Tokyo MX, BS11, GYT, HTB, Animax, and TUF. Tomori Kusunoki, Saori Hayami, Reina Aoyama, and Aoi Koga will perform the opening theme ‘Annoying! San-san Week!’, while Yui Horie will perform the ending theme ‘Niji ga Kakaru made no Hanashi’ (The Story Across the Rainbow). Funimation licensed the series outside of Asia. Muse Communication has licenced this series in South Asia and Southeast Asia.”
