SYBOULETTE'S PRIDE SET FOR THE SIMS 2 🏳‍🌈
happy pride everyone! personally i am unable to celebrate this important month openly; i live in a very conservative and religious country where recently the government was even pulling rainbow watches from stores ahead of june. however, they haven't been able to regulate pixel watches (yet..) and so my sims can still live their lives loving as freely as everyone should be able to. 🌈
at the start of the year i was browsing through @syboubou's downloads page and came across their pride set. it's pride month now, so i figured it was now or never to finally do it! this set has 9 items, all decor, with plain white swatches on certain ones so that you can make your own recolors if you wish to!
i ended up editing a lot of items in this set. some were missing backfaces, and i think one or two had missing swatches (or at least my version did). if there's anything that still dissatisfies you with it, do send me an ask and i'll try to fix it!
DOWNLOAD: SFS | MF ✨
credits go to @syboubou for the original meshes & textures! 💖
items included:
everything has recolors in both english and simlish, plus most have blank recolors if you want to create your own!
bag -> 3824 polys, $19
bag laying -> 6160 polys, $19, repo'd to bag
cap -> 3008 polys, $39
coffee mug -> 694 polys, $9
craft -> 1200 polys, $9
leaflets -> 26 polys, $9
mini flags -> 534 polys, $9
signs -> 156 polys, $19
wall flag -> 1352 polys, $19

in case you would like to read up more on lgbt rights and activity in malaysia, i suggest this wikipedia article. though we have done our best to move forward from our old ways, even electing a pm previously jailed for 'lgbt activity', there are still many loud voices of opposition both in the streets and in our government. it is my hope that someday, people will be able to live and love freely in my country.
thank you for downloading these conversions 💜 have a lovely pride, and a lovely day simming!
just keep in mind,
Tumblr media
love,
~ Ky (nonsensical-pixels) 🧡

🏳‍🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🏳‍🌈
This year I decided to bring you all a little gift for Pride Month - some free to use mini pixel art pride flags! I tried to include as many flags as I could, I hope y'all have fun decorating your profiles with these! :D
Here's the link to all the individual flags : https://sta.sh/2ng2zb67vae
Flags are sorted in alphabetical order! There are 94 different flags - each of them in a small and larger size.
These are F2U (free to use) for personal use only - do not use them for profit (non-commercial use only!) They are perfect for profile decorations for DeviantArt, Toyhouse, Art Fight and other social media platforms that allow BB Code, CSS, etc. You can also use them on character reference sheets if you want!
If you use them, please add credit by linking back to my account - here's my Carrd where you can find all of my social media links : https://electricshan.carrd.co

would you consider dropping where you get some of your pixels? you dont have to, i just want to find more places to look for when i make mine!!
Absolutely!
I usually browse the ‘favicon(s)’ tag on tumblr. But some of the best specific blogs for this are @wanwanparty, @pixelsihave, @magicalboything, and @melonet! 💖
This page on @sadthemes’ tumblr is also SUPER useful. It has loads of pixels, and sorts them by color, to boot! That makes it super easy to find what you’re looking for. Pixelbank on Neocities also has quite a sizable pixel hoard!
Finally, /pixelflags on rentry and Mini Pride Flags on toyhouse are great resources for pride flags! Similarly, /madpride on rentry has a collection of symbols and flags for disorders and disabilities.

I'm thinking I'll probably phase these button sets out, at least for now, so they're 20% off for the month, and then because they're currently low in stock, I'm doing preorders the last week of the month (24-30) for anyone who wants to grab some that are out of stock (which will ship around August).

Mini fill: Tim’s birthday at the Archives, pre/during s1
Decided it’s an AU where Michael and Gerard are assistants because otherwise parts of it have too few people.
Tim knew Martin was the planning something, from the second he told him not to plan anything at all on that Friday afternoon. He’d been given strict orders to come to Pixels, the new gaming bar, immediately after work. Martin said he’d go with him, which was all extremely weird. However, one thing Tim did know is that Martin knew it was his birthday. The reason he almost certainly was more than aware of this fact is that he shared an office with Martin. He had a calendar on his computer specifically dedicated to his colleagues birthdays (even those not in the Archive), and sent emails round before every individual day. The fact Tim hadn’t heard a thing from Martin all day about his birthday made him grow suspicious.
As a result, when he and Martin entered Pixels to discover a booked booth with Sasha, Michael, Gerard, and John he was not remotely surprised. He was however a little bit taken aback by the greeting of “happy birthday!” because John actually smiled for a moment. Tim pretended it was all a big shock, he sat down with a wide grin spread across his face. Martin sat next to him clearly pleased his plan had worked and he paid for Tim to have a gaming theme cocktail (he went for one from the Pokémon special selection - specifically a Scorvillain. It contained a triple sec, a chilli liqueur, and apple juice.)
As soon as Tim has ordered his cocktail, Martin had shoved a large envelope and wrapped up present under his nose. He gave an embarrassed giggle as he took both, opening the first to discover a large birthday card with a dozing black Labrador with “Happy Birthday!” written underneath in cursive. Inside everyone had signed it with varying versions of birthday celebrations. Martin’s said “Happy Birthday! The archive wouldn’t be the same without you and your smile”. Something which made Tim sniffle a little, wiping the tears out of green eyes and trying to hide the fact.
Tim swallowed as he opened the present, it was soft greatly limiting his guessing ability. He expected a plain jumper or something else, instead, in his hands was a new Tottenham Hotspur t-shirt. He looked delighted and shocked, insisting it was too much but no one would hear it. They said they all chipped in, so it wasn’t too much overall.
They all ordered food and most importantly, more cocktails. Mostly it was different versions of burgers, pizza, and nachos. Martin flagged down a waiter when they had finished who came out with a cake and Tim’s cheeks burned red when everyone started to sing “Happy Birthday”, even the lights being turned down in the bar as the waiters brought it over. It was a sugar free, dairy free red velvet cake, with a traditional message written in icing. They all spent the rest of the evening playing on the large arcade machines and battling in the bar’s consoles. It was an evening everyone enjoyed, even John who was surprisingly chatty and giggly after his “oh I’ll have just one since it’s a special occasion” cocktail.

This is "all" I did today. I mean, I got about half of the base strings on here, but as you can see, it's a huge project. This is 150 strings across and 100 rows down. Plus, for whatever reason, the strings try to felt together if I don't wax them. I tried to skip waxing them yesterday because I just wanted to get the strings on my stabilizer. So as I'm pulling aside the larkshead knots to weave onto the corresponding strings, I was slowed down by having to wax my base strings. But I'm rapidly running out of wax, so I had to be really sparing about my wax. I might have to set aside my knotwork for a few days while I wait for the money to buy the wax and then for the wax to arrive in the mail.
Speaking of an absolutely enormous undertaking,
Tumblr media
Just pixelating this Haku has been a monstrous project. I had to pixelize it manually because it's so huge and I just kept getting confused by what my art program was trying to do. These stray pixels down at the bottom are me getting to the end of my energy for this part of the project--more than once. I've been going back to it because of the NM flag, and making a really solid effort to finish filling the coloring so it's actually useful and not eye-crossing confusing.
So if I do end up actually having to wait for wax to arrive, I have plenty to do. I also have a luna moth pattern, and I wanted to make the Disney magic carpet, plus, I think a small selection of like, Persian/"oriental" rug style mini wall hanging/ tapestries would be cool. And of course, I have all those unicornos that I wanted to put into a tiled arrangement a la Andy Warhol. I have plenty to do if I run completely out of wax.
Oh, and don't forget my very neglected graphic novel.
Just to run off on a total tangent, I don't talk very much about something I never even conceived of until I was in college, but I have a bit of a special interest in studio waste. And at least for friendship bracelets, as most fiber arts, it's normal to save your ORTs for other things--stuffing, ragrug bracelets, confetti in alpha patterns, etc. I know not many people wax the ever living shit out of their embroidery threads before knotting, but I do, so of course, at some point, the wax gets to a point where it is more fiber than wax. I know it'll take ages and ages to have enough to warm and attempt to filter, but that seems like a nerdy, obscure, hyperfixated thing to do.
I mean, after all, I brought a barely started yogurt cup of used kneaded eraser with me from NM when really, really, I should have just thrown it away. But I really wanted to completely fill this yogurt cup with used kneaded eraser.
And even if I don't run out of wax, it wouldn't hurt me to get through this little hiccup I'm running into with my graphic novel.
Anyway, I'm meeting with my doctor tomorrow to talk about my CTS, so I'm going to go to bed fairly early tonight.
