a/n: this is my first time writing for gunwook! the title translates to ‘a confession under a golden sunset’. as my bias wrecker he has such a special place in my heart and i hope my writing captured him as beautifully as he is. also added the bibi song since i had it on repeat writing this and feel like it encapsulates the vibe of this scenario so well. enjoy!

warm sunlight streams through the blinds spilling onto the desks of the empty classroom, silent aside from the distant sounds of a few students shuffling through the corridors going home after their extracurriculars.

the classroom is bathed in a golden glow from the the waning sun. you stretch your hand out before you, waving your fingers and tilting your head to the side as you watch the silhouette of your hand dancing on the wall before you. you bring your hand closer to your eyes so the dark shadow draws nearer and nearer till it obliviates the wall in a mass of black...

"hey! what are you doing?"

you jump so hard you nearly scream. gunwook leans against the doorway with a cheshire cat grin plastered on his face.

"what the hell gunwook?? god, you startled me. my heart's beating so fast." you scowl.

"isn't that just because you like me?"

"what the fuck."

you and gunwook had a contentious relationship. in simple terms, he always annoyed the hell out of you. you don't even know when he popped into your life, but all of a sudden he was always around you, teasing you and pulling pranks acting like you'd known eachother for years. you weren't sure whether you found it funny or just annoying.

'where even were you? teacher kim put us both on cleaning duty today.'

"why are you so interested in me?" he replies, wiggling his eyebrows in mocking.

you roll your eyes. "whatever. i'm halfway done anyway," you sigh. taking the chalkboard eraser and beginning to wipe logarithms from the board with long swipes.

he clears his throat.

"hey... im sorry. i actually wanted to help this time." he says, scratching the back of his head and giving you a bashful look.

you snicker. "what the hell? why are you being nice to me? are you going to shove a fake cockroach down my shirt again?"

he'd already tried that one three times this week, the last time culminating in you chasing him down the hallway screaming and being caught by teacher kim- hence you both ending up on cleaning duty.

he begins to move closer.

"do not come closer, park gunwook. i swear to god, one more fake cockroach and you'll be on the floor crying."

"no, i-"

the classroom is suddenly filled with an eruption of screams and laughter. gunwook hadn't listened to you (as usual) continuing to grow nearer- so you'd clapped the erasers in his face creating a poof of chalkboard dust in the air.

"what was that for?" he coughs, tempting to wave away the billow of dust.

"it's what you get!" you jeer, happy to have caught him off guard for once.

you place the erasers back and begin to sweep. gunwook follows you with all the manner of a lost puppy, just awkwardly trailing next to you as you make your away around the room.

"gunwook, i literally can't see with your big head in the way."

"what do you mean big??"

"your shadow is so massive it's covering the floor and i can't see."

"don't make things up."

"i'm not! look at your shadow! you’re practically blocking the sun like a titan.”

"well.. don't you like tall guys?"

you pause at the sudden but earnest question. a pale pink blush was seeping across his cheeks, his eyes fixed on some other spot in the room. what was wrong with him today?

you sigh, too tired to ponder on it, and continue sweeping.

"what are you even saying.." you mumble in reply. 'just get out of my way.'

"okay, fine. is there at least a task for me to do?"

"go sharpen the pencils. at least make yourself useful if you're gonna bother me."

"sung hanbin." he says from the other side of the room.

"what?" you swivel your head to where gunwook stands sharpening the pencils. his eyes hadn't left the floor, continuing his task calmly.

he stays silent so you draw nearer to him, puzzled. "what do you mean?" you ask again.

"you mentioned it to haneul the other day," he says quietly. 'that you like sung hanbin. that he's so kind, and dances so well, and he's so tall..."

you squint your eyes at him. did he listen to your conversations?

‘i'm tall too. my mom said by the time i turn 21 i'll be 190cm.’ he says, knuckles white as his hand grips the pencil sharpener. he pauses. ‘and im taller than sung hanbin.’

"what are you even saying?" you laugh. you place the broom aside and perch yourself on a desk. 'why are you suddenly mentioning him?'

"what's your ideal type?" he asks suddenly, voice cracking a little at the end of the sentence.

you snort and nearly blurt out a tart reply before noticing he's not teasing you. his blush had spread across his cheeks as he stared down at his hands bashfully. you blink, confused at this awkward vibe he's been channelling since earlier. you clear your throat attempting to think of an answer.

"well.. i mean, i don't have a fixed type. i guess it depends on the person. and i don't *like* sung hanbin," you say, attempting not to make a sarcastic remark. 'i just think he's handsome. like literally everyone else at school.'

"so you do like him?"

"oh my god, gunwook, i just said no. why does it even matter anyway? do *you* like me?" you say, exasperated.

his pupils waver as he stops sharpening the pencil for a second. he swallows.

"and what if i did?"

"i'd throw myself off the roof,” unable to hold in the sarcastic reply this time. what was he even getting at?

he places the tools down, his eyes finally breaking away from the pencil and gazing at yours.

"am i really that bad to you?" he asks, pupils wavering in his big brown eyes.

you're so caught off guard by his docility that you just blurt whatever comes to mind.

"i-i mean, i didn't mean it that way. you make me laugh, and you're smart, and you are tall like you said.. but you're always teasing me so i never thought of you that way.."

gunwook begins to take slow steps towards you, visage illuminated by the sunset.

"do you know why i always tease you?"

you blink, confused. "because you want a reaction?"

"because i want your attention. i want you to notice me, to look at me. i like your laugh, and your expression when i annoy you, and everything about you makes me want to carry on making you notice me. you’re always on my mind."

somewhere through his monologue your heart had started beating so hard you could almost see the pulsations through your white shirt. your pupils waver as you look at him.

"do you understand what im saying?" he asks.

"gunwook, i..." you say, voice coming out in a whisper.

"i like you."

your heart almost stops beating. now standing before you as you perched on the desk so you had to crane your neck up slightly to meet his shining eyes. he swallows as he gazes into your eyes, expression soft.

and in the golden glow of sunlight, you notice for the first time that he is beautiful. the sun illuminates his eyes the shade of honey, his jet black hair moving gently over his dark brows from the balmy wind breezing through the classrooms. and he really was so tall. tall, with wide shoulders and big hands that would give the warmest safest hugs…

he gently places a large hand on the small of your back, the distance between you even smaller now. the sound of a nearby wind-chime rings softly from the window as you look up into his eyes, your gaze travelling down to his lips.

and he kisses you. gently, sweetly, the rashness that you knew him for distant. his touch is delicate, the temperature of his warm hand on your back relaxing you into his embrace. his full lips are soft and warm against yours. he cups your face with his other hand, thumb brushing over your cheek. you lock your hands around his neck, melting into his touch.

his lips part and move in time with your own, allowing you to deepen the kiss. in that moment, your heart feels full and warm in his gentle embrace. both your hearts beat wildly as you slowly retract, hearing the quiet sound of each other's rugged breaths. your lips tingle with the lingering sensation of his lips on yours, your eyes remaining on his as you stare at his face inches from you.

his skin golden from the sunlight, rosy cheeks glowing, you suddenly feel the urge to touch his soft skin. you brush a finger along his smooth cheek, feeling the heat of his skin from the blush. he smiles as he looks into your eyes, and you notice something for the first time: a faint dimple on his right cheek. the very smile that you had always found so annoying, you had suddenly become fond of at the sight of it.

“i never noticed you had a dimple there before,” you whisper, caressing his cheek.

“look at me more from now on. i’ll smile lots for you,” he replies, taking your hand and leaving a gentle kiss on your knuckle.

the sound of the wind-chime harmonises with the laughter you share, dust particles floating and shimmering in the air under the golden sunset.

Once late at night you came across him on the streets and you thought him as any celebrity and that’s how your friendship began. He has the show-off attitude and would always buy you costly dresses, jewelry and other accessories and urge you to wear them on friendly dates and workplace. He has this possessiveness in his every move and words as if he owns you. He is a loyal NCT mafia member who has swear not to get distract by anything but why he is losing his mind for you.

Lee Mark

the sweetest and the most innocent guy. You feel this urge to protect this silly boy from this cruel world. Cruel world? He is a walking devil with a facade of innocence. His silly speech, his innocent heartily laughs and his securing embrace is like alluring you to trust him with your whole. But it’s a trap to keep you close. You don’t know how his awkward behaviors in front of you are just the opposite when he plants bullets in his enemy’s head and throat. His soft big and innocent eyes are the dangerous hell-hole for his victims.

Lee Jeno

well, you doubt him as a gangster sometimes because of his physique and personality. But He can’t be because next moment he is giving off his eye smile melting your heart along with his sweet gestures. A perfect soft boyfriend with some dominating aura. He likes to order you around like those are simple and sweet but somehow he has that controlling attitude. His helpless and worried expression if you are hurt for some reason is just the opposite from the one when he makes sure to burn the victim or bury it 6-feet under and his eyes burning with the rage of revenge, nowhere to be seen those cute eyes looking at you in awe and adoration.

Lee Haechan

a playful menace. You question sometimes why you are being friends with him in first place. His teasings are out of hand and loses your mind but the next moment he is the dearest friend to you. But you have fun with him in sleepovers, sneaking out for late night long drives playing ‘Highway to Heaven’ and he sings along the song’s bridge, his fav part ‘oh she’s so bad, I’ll make it last’ and looks at you in your eyes. Even behind his mischievousness, there is a lover boy. He cuddles you to comfort and a perfect bestfriend and you are thankful for such a nice friend. But you don’t know that the annoying boy with heavenly vocals is a hacker of the ruthless mafia gang, NCT.

Na Jaemin

a total cat person. He even has an insta account for his cats and mentioned himself as their father and you as their mother. A boy with heart on his sleeves and he doesn’t let a moment to fall in vain without making you blush. A family man and not gonna lie you have a little crush on him. His endearments and sweet gestures always make you feel like that you are a couple and sometimes some people even assume it. Even if you deny it, he proudly smiles and agrees with them. But this sweet Angel boy is the devil who can shoot someone and bury them in a stance and then act like he tugged his cats in bed to sleep.

I’m writing such above things just casually because even if it’s late at night yet am not feeling sleepy😭 actually I was preparing a NCT! Mafia draft so felt like sharing some imagines. 7:30PM - HWANG HYUNJIN

warnings- a sick hyunjin, a little angst (but not really, there’s a lot of comfort and cuddles), nudity (that is not sexual).

a/n- this was a request from @hyungenie5 ! i hope this is the kinda thing you wanted! hyunjin is probably one of my biggest bias wreckers i hope you enjoy this!

when you opened your phone to 5 missed calls from chan, your head immediately jumped to the worst. had something serious happened? you mentally cursed at yourself for putting your phone on silent and called him back. he answered immediately panicking you further.

“oh my god chan what happened? is there something wro-” , you rambled before he cut you off. “heya! can you come pick hyunjin up?? i think he’s ill but he’s refusing to sit out... you know we have that big show coming up i think he’s worrying himself about it.”

you exhale heavily thankful that it’s nothing life-altering. “yeah of course! i’ll be there in a bit, thanks for calling me chan “.

when you got to the studio you saw hyunjin sat on a chair dozing, resting his head on the wall next to him. your heart hurt a little at the sight, he was so prone to ignoring his own body’s messages to rest that he overworked himself to exhaustion. you waved to chan and crouched in front of him as his eyes fluttered open, though his gaze was wavering and distant. he looked so tired but the moment he met your eyes he gave you a wide smile that made his entire face light up for a minute. 

you took his hands in yours and gave him a soft smile back. “you alright baby?” you rubbed sloppy circles on his palms as he nodded. you knew he was just going to pretend he was okay but you weren’t going to force anything out of him. “let’s go home yeah?” you said as he shakily stood up and followed you back to the car. he was silent the entire car ride looking so peaceful he may have been sleeping but you knew he wasn’t from the way his glossed over eyes that were staring out the window.

as soon as you locked the front door, he fell into your arms hugging you tightly whilst you combed your fingers through his hair, “what’s wrong jin?” you whispered, “just feel all wobbly and my head hurts...” he mumbled as you held his unusually warm face in your hands. you reached a hand up and felt his forehead . 

a fever just as you had suspected.

“don’t worry i’m gonna take good care of you i promise” you planted a soft kiss on his cheek and lead him upstairs. you helped him take off his clothes while you ran a bath and let him climb in to it.  he sighed audibly as the warm water touched his body, letting you soak his head with the shower head. 

you squeezed a little shampoo into your hands and washed his hair for him carefully as to not get any of the bubbles into his eyes. you felt his body relax against your hands as you rubbed his shoulders, he tilted his head back to face you and gave you the warmest smile you’d ever seen. 

“you’re an angel” he muttered softly as he rested the back of his head against the rim of the bath, peering up at you with his soft half-lidded eyes, you chuckled placing your forehead against his damp one as he joined his lips with yours, his wet hands reaching up to cradle your cheek. he’d inched closer and closer to you and the only thing in between the two of you was the ceramic of the bath. 

“can you get in the bath with me?” he shyly questioned pulling away from your lips for a second. you smiled, getting up to discard your clothes before clambering into the tub with your boyfriend. he pulled you closer to him, happy that you obliged at his request. you relaxed against his chest and let the warm water lap over the two of you.  you grinned at the blissful expression blooming on hyunjin’s face before you basked in the peace of your apartment. treasuring the few minutes that it felt like you two were the only people in the world.

“Alright,” Tamora interjected, taking another swig of her beer. The Niceland New Year’s party had wrapped hours ago, and all who remained sitting among the streamers and bits of confetti were her, Ralph, and Felix. Vanellope was also present, but had fallen asleep some time ago. 

Sitting up to place her drink on the coffee table, the sergeant had a pink hue on her face as she formulated her next question. Ralph had already turned towards her on the adjacent couch, but Felix remained still, head on the armrest, looking close to joining Vanellope in dreamland.

“You two have been around for thirty-something years–”

“Thirty-three,” Fix-It muttered.

“Right. You’ve been around for thirty-something years; you’ve seen it all…Who takes the title of sexiest man in the arcade.”

“These questions are feeling more and more like we’re high schoolers at a slumber party,” Ralph chuckled. He was buzzed, but in far better shape than the couple. “I’m going to have to think…”

“Luigi,” Felix mumbled upwards to the ceiling, pulling the brim of his cap up from over his eyes. “No contest.”

“No contest— are you kidding me?” Ralph looked dead into the handyman’s sleepy eyes. “Luigi?”

“Yyyep,” Felix replied smugly with a pop. 

“Yeah, well, I guess that figures. He’s seems just about as vanilla as you.” A defiant laugh rumbled in the fixer’s chest. “Oh, Ralph…Vanilla may be my favorite flavor of cake, but not my taste in pixels.”

The wrecker opened his mouth for another retort before a tiny cushion collided with his face.

Across the way, Tamora held another pillow at the ready.

“Elaborate,” she commanded, leaning towards her husband. She was very interested in what he had to say.

“Honey, that man can touch you in ways that will make you feel like the most special person in the world, and he’ll do it all while serenading you in Italian. He is unbelievably sexy…what?”

As he spoke, Felix caught Ralph and Tamora’s wide-eyed stares.

“Well that all seems very specific,” Wreck-It smiled, wagging his eyebrows. “I think you may have a biased opinion.”

“N-no, I don’t!” Felix’s face turned bright red, realizing just how revealing his explanation was. 

“More like an informed opinion,” Tamora joined in on the ribbing. Embarrassing the handyman was a pastime she and Ralph would regularly bond over. “He take good care of your pipes, Fix-It?”

“It was a long time ago…” he admitted, delighting his companions.

“Wait…what about Daisy?” Ralph questioned. “I thought she and Luigi have been a thing since forever.”

“She was there too.”

“What?!” Ralph was aghast. “Both!? At the same time?!”

“It was the 80’s…” Felix chuckled. “Not so vanilla now, am I?”

“I could have told him that,” Tamora raised her eyebrows and took another sip of her beer. “Time’s up, Wreck-It; your answer?”

The wrecker’s face flushed as he wrung his large hands. “Zangief…”

“Oh, talk about a bias,” the sergeant cackled, knowing full and well the crush Ralph has on the Street Fighter. 

“Shut up,” the large man growled. “You asked for our opinions; he’s hot, alright?”

“He is,” Felix smiled, nodding. “You’ve got great taste, brother.”

Ralph squinted at the handyman, dubious. “Is there something else you’d like to tell us? Should I be worried?”

Felix shrugged, ending off with a playful wink as he pulled the brim of his cap back over his eyes. 

“What the fuck?” the wrecker mouthed to Calhoun as the handyman settled back into the couch cushions. What bothered him the most was that he didn’t know if the little guy was pulling his leg or not, given what he’d learned. Who was this person, and what had he done to the innocent good guy who danced the night away just hours before? 

All Tamora could offer up was a shrug of her own, a hearty chuckle escaping her lips as her husband began to snore.

- stray kids is my ult group, my ult bias is chan (i would literally die for him wow), but i also bias han and changbin, the other five are my bias wreckers (it‘s just the way it is what can i say)

- my ateez biases (yes, another bias line sue me) are mingi (i love that man with my entire soul), hongjoong and san; bias wreckers are wooyoung and yunho (but everyone wrecks me every now and then, so one could argue again)

- p1harmony biases are keeho and intak, bias wreckers are jeongseob (mY ROOT CAME 2005-) and jiung hihi

- seventeen biases are s.coups, mingyu and wonwoo, unsure about bias wreckers atp bc i‘m not that deep into svt yet

- with enhypen, my bias is heeseung and bias wreckers are jake and sunghoon

- my txt bias is yeonjun (the man that initially got me into kpop tysm), bias wreckers are kai and soobin

I hate to say this but tbh a majority of my friends are single and aren't really interested in anyone 😅

I guess in terms of what their love interests might be like if they had one I would say one of my best friends would like someone who can keep up with her socially so like going out to clubs and parties occasionally but also being okay just staying home and relaxing. I feel like she stretches herself pretty thin a lot so being with someone who is content slowing things down a bit sometimes I think would be very important.

We have the same ult bias (Jungkook as you could probably tell from my writing lol) and we both love how endearing and sweet he can be but also how genuinely hilarious he is and many many more of his personality traits (and also the fact that he's insanely attractive and talented ofc but those are just added bonuses lol)

We've both been fans for yearssss like I'm pretty much about to hit like six years of being an Army (sometime within the next few weeks lol idk exactly when) so I joined the fandom like maybe a month or two before Love Yourself: Answer came out in 2018.

I think she's been a fan since The Most Beautiful Moments in Life pt 2 in 2015 so shit like nine almost ten years.

We actually met through a TikTok live stream! We were both on this guy's live stream and he accidentally clicked on her profile and said she was really cute and he's like "Yo everyone jump on my discord" so we did and he was too shy to talk to her and just decided to start live streaming a video game he was playing and I was like "Well if you're not gonna talk to her then I am" and we've been friends ever since 😂

Sorry lmao you didn't as for the origin story of our friendship but I think it's so funny how we met so I like to talk about it sometimes since it so unique (to my understanding lmao)

But yeah anyways getting back to your questions...

In terms of my love interest I also don't have one since I don't really go out much since I'm pretty introverted and keep things low key so my self aware delulu love interest is Jungkook 😂

I would say the kind of guy I would be interested in is someone kind, considerate and also really funny. I do prefer someone who can joke around but someone who doesn't mind talking about serious topics or even not talking at all like being comfortable in a comfortable silence but I guess I would also like to have someone that would take me out of my comfort zone.

Like going out on dates and doing things together not saying that they have to be extravagant or anything but yeah just cheesy dates like an amusement park or an arcade. Stuff like that. Also if they're romantic that would help since I'm not the lovey dovey type it would be nice to feel comfortable being vulnerable with someone like that.

Idk I guess I could go on and on about what I would like in a guy but those are some of the main things.

My goodness your questions are very difficult to answer haha but my top three groups would definetly be BTS, TXT and Got7 (although I don't really listen to Got7 anymore since they're not active as a group atm 🥲 but they were the first group that got me into kpop)

For her in terms of who her romantic interest would be in each group well I guess I should tell you her biases first. Jungkook from BTS, Yeonjun from TXT and tbh I don't know who her Got7 bias is but if I had to take a guess it would probably be JayB but don't quote me on that one lol

I would say that Hobi might match her energy a little bit more than Jungkook (Hobi is her bias wrecker) since Hobi (from a fan's perspective) seems like a person who can definetly keep up with her socially since she loves to go dancing and loves night life and I feel like Hobi thrives in that element and the fact that he's funny would definetly be something she would love.

Yeonjun again seems like a person who is very outgoing when he feels he can let his guard down and seems like a social butterfly and loves to party and have fun (again from a fan's perspective but I have no clue if he's actually like that)

And Got7 I might say she'd be interested in someone like Yugyeom since again he seems outgoing and funny once he feels like he can relax, dance have fun.

Idk man without her here it's kinda hard to tell especially since all we talk about in terms of boys are kpop idols and the occasional guys she meets when she goes out but they're more like "Oh this guy was so cute" or "I danced with this guy" but it never goes further than that for the most part lmao.

My biases are Jungkook from BTS, Yeonjun from TXT and Mark from Got7

For me in BTS I would say (because I'm biased but also believe it) my love interest based off of what I said would definetly be Jungkook. I mean man's is so freaking introverted it's hilarious. Like he said that one time he didn't leave his house for like seven days and I've definetly been there and done that before so I get it. He's also really funny, kind and considerate but knows how to have fun so yeah I feel like we can match each other's energy.

For my love interest in TXT I might say Soobin? He seems a lot more reserved than the other members and maybe a little shy at time (I'm not like super into TXT but that's the vibe he gives off from a casual fan's perspective lol) and I feel like because of that if we were in like a party/club setting (which I'm hardly ever in) I might step up and be more outgoing like talking to people and introducing him into the conversation so yeah I would think that we would compliment each other like that but it could be the opposite like he might step up and be more social and try to bring me into the conversation so basically we would both make sure that we both have fun no matter what

In Got7 I would say Mark does match my energy but maybe being with someone who is a little bit more outgoing like Jinyoung would be fun! Like something about this man that I love is that he has an incredible resting bitch face and just can't help but judge people but like silently but he also seems like a respectful guy. I wouldn't say he's shy but it seems like he doesn't go out of his way to be social with people but can be when in a social environment.

I honestly would just love to be a wallflower with him and gossip about everyone at the party but like just between the two of us and it would never be anything harmful but just like funny stuff that we observe while were there like "Did you see the way he was looking at her" or "They are not happy that he showed up" or "Is her ex trying to hook up with her tonight?" stuff like that but just between the two of us because who doesn't gossip with their partner 😂

namjoon: i have no idea how he does it but he says and does exactly what i need, i cannot express what i felt the first time i listened to indigo, how mono treats me... doesnt matter if i dont even know what im going through its like he knows and suddenly he's there to remind me that i am okay and everything will be okay, he's my OG, he understands me and listens to me without even trying ! its incredible, his vision... i cant, i cant understand how this works, but he makes it make sense, every single time.

yoongi: yoongi became part of my bias line last year after his tour, he wasnt even a bias wrecker, im not the army that goes through all the content, i still have so much to watch and learn, but that last day, the last concert i was coming home very late and i saw that the concert was just starting and i thought "im just gonna watch until namjoon and then im going to sleep" but i couldnt lol, i watched the whole thing, cried, and then kept crying a couple more hours because the last two years havent been the best in my personal life and i swear, the moment the concert ended and the "future's gonna be ok" screen came up it shocked me to my very core, i loved the album SO much, and i wanted to go to a concert (i couldnt but oh well), and like .. i listened and read that phrase for months and until that moment i didnt get it, that future's gonna be okay destroyed me in the best way possible and i am so thankful for min yoongi, im just very very thankful

what are your thoughts on the concept that our biases are who we are most like and our bias wreckers are more along the lines of our romantic type?

omg asking the hard hitting questions aren't we😭

so my bias in bts is yoongi, and my bias wrecker always is a fight between jin and jungkook.

I always have a hard time figuring out my own characteristics and traits because I have such a negative self perception from years of trauma and ptsd so I am truly unsure of this.

I do love to sleep like yoongi, and I am generally quiet unless with friends or family like him. I have tons of patience and would very much love my next life to be a rock.

LAST TIME ON FUTURE DREAMS…

all of the trainees were given an unexpected surprise — the performances that they were practicing so hard on would be scrapped and instead of performing for a smaller audience, they would be performing for the last stop at LGC’s FAMILY CON 2K22 in seoul! reactions from the trainees are shown and it leaves people wondering how the trainees will cope with the sudden change of events.

RANKINGS

what they don’t know is that at some point before LGC’s FAMILY CONCERT, all of the coaches have gathered along with KIM HYUNCHEOL and LEE ISEUL as they discuss the performances the coaches saw on AUGUST 6.

“even though that was only the midway point, who do you think did the best?” ISEUL asked as he looked at the coaches who were present during those performances.

one coach revealed, “we’ve debated a bit, but we can confirm that the girls did a lot better than the boys. even though there were more boys in the teams, some of us noticed that there are still some lacking in certain areas or not trying as hard as they should have. the senior artists have given them some advice and they did listen to it, but… so did the girls too. as a result, it made the gap between the two even wider.” he paused as he looked at the coach next to him, the one who supposedly spent the most time watching all of the contestants during their practice sessions. returning his attention back towards ISEUL and HYUNCHEOL, he continued on, “but between the two girl groups, we felt that the DALLA DALLA team did the best.”

a female coach chimed in as she added, “on the other hand, for the boys we thought that the HALLA HALLA team did the best.” the coaches continued on to discuss the teams in-depth, but that bit was left muted as viewers got to see ISEUL and HYUNCHEOL jotting down notes about the teams and what the overall rankings would be.

the next scene transitions to ISEUL and HYUNCHEOL in an interview room as they reveal to the viewers the rankings for a few more contestants.

“ah,” a woman around her early 20s paused to think about how she would answer the question that was given to her regarding which team she would support for this round. “i’ve been a huge fan of NABI since lgc girls japan, but DOWOON and KEEHO are slowly becoming my bias wreckers too. omo, what am i going to do?? i don’t even know who i’ll vote for in the end…” she trailed off as she touched her cheeks.  “umm…fighting to everyone in future dreams! may the best team win!” she ends her interview abruptly with those words as she covers her face.

more interviews are shown and the viewers can easily tell that the voting for this time around will be a lot harder than usual. not only that, but as part of NABI and PARKER’s reward from the ‘impress the senior artists’ segment, they were both given a choice to use their reward. with both of them selecting to give an additional boost to their votes, it’s a complete mystery as to which team will win.

soon after, the edited performances from LGC’s FAMILY CONCERT are shown with more focus towards the FUTURE DREAMS trainees. there’s a note at the bottom of the screen that encourages people to check out the full performances on LGCENT’s youtube channel, for those who want to relive the experience again ( or see how the performances turned out in case they missed it ).

THE FINALE

the next day, all of the future dreams contestants gathered together on stage. the audience this time around is a lot smaller compared to the previous day, but some of them may have noticed a bit of a surprise in that all of the debuted artists ( IDOLS, MODELS, and ACTORS ) are sitting in the front rows. behind them are KIM HYUNCHEOL, head manager of the trainees; PARK JEONGAN, current CEO; and LEE ISEUL, head creative director sitting at the center with the table and chairs elevated so that everyone could see them.

“today is the finale of FUTURE DREAMS SEASON 5.” HYUNCHEOL begins to give a brief rundown of everything that has happened the last couple of hours. “in the last 24 hours, we’ve seen everyone give it their all in all of the activities and performances that were assigned to them. we watched as we saw the number of votes accumulate over time and that by the end of the voting period, we’ve received over one million votes.” some of the people in the audience were left in shock over how many people watched the concert last night. “and the competition was certainly tough. there were some periods when each of the teams gained a significant amount of votes, but after all of the contestants performed, there was a clear victor as to which team won and that team is… TEAM WE GO!” HYUNCHEOL and ISEUL look at the girls’ team and applaud them for their efforts. 

“and now what you’ve all been waiting for.” HYUNCHEOL transitioned to the one thing everyone was waiting for. “the winner of this season is… SON NABI! congratulations, you are ranked number 1 and will be releasing a solo later this year. please congratulate her and everyone else for participating!” he allows everyone to clap and cheer over the announcement. but after a few minutes, ISEUL stands up and breaks the celebratory moment with a follow up announcement.

“as we watched each of the trainees over the course of this season, we weren’t looking solely for someone who would be given an opportunity to release a single. we were looking for other aspects too. many of you know that several of our PROJECT ORIGIN individuals have debuted and become idols—” ISEUL pauses as he looks at the members of TYPE ZERO, V&A, CRYSTALLIS, and FABULA. “... and with NABI ranked number 1 in this season and the only trainee left in LGC GIRLS, we thought quite a bit about legacy’s future and its lore. so we are happy to announce that NABI’s single will serve as a precursor to a new era that legacy will be introducing in the future.” ISEUL turned momentarily to look at JEONGAN and HYUNCHEOL as he waited for one of them to announce the next surprise. 

JEONGAN took his microphone and began talking, “even though this season mostly focused on individual rankings, we did observe both the boys and girls to see their growth during the past few months. at first, we were rather surprised by the initial rankings as we saw most of the girls ranked high but as time went on we noticed that there were a few male trainees who surprised us at times.” his attention shifted towards DOWOON and he continued on, “in the past, you may have heard some of the coaches comment about your performances and how they enjoyed watching them. then when you performed in front of the senior artists, they also said something along those lines as well. even until now, the coaches can see that too. in fact, we can see your gradual improvement and we had a feeling throughout this season that you were ready to debut. the thing is that we wondered how we would see you in a group. it was why you were given an array of concepts, to see where we see you best and after yesterday’s performance, we know the answer now.”

“congratulations, you will be debuting as a member of TYPE ZERO — a group that takes on a variety of concepts, since like the meaning of the group, it is the middle area between VERSUS and AGITO. we were looking for someone who is versatile and can take on an array of concepts and that is one of your strengths as a performer.” JEONGAN announced as he lets everyone celebrate for a short period before politely instructing DOWOON to move to the side. “but DOWOON will not be the only one joining TYPE ZERO. there was another one that we didn’t quite expect initially. we knew that he had the talent for it, but as time went on we soon noticed that he was a fan favorite, especially with the idols.” JEONGAN chuckled as he eyed towards the idols who voted for the trainee. “PARKER,” he calls out his name before announcing the next bit of good news. “you will be joining DOWOON and debuting as a TYPE ZERO member. we were aware of how talented you were vocally and when we asked the senior artists how they felt about your performance, they saw a lot of potential in you as a future idol. some even mentioned that they thought you were ready to become an idol too. so congratulations to you as well and please stand next to DOWOON.” another set of loud cheers and applauds could be heard, giving time for both of the trainees to take in the surprising news.

HYUNCHEOL concludes the finale with his speech, "and that’s the end of the fifth season of FUTURE DREAMS. thank you to everyone for participating and see you in the next season.” confetti started to fall from above and as people were cheering over everything that had happened, ‘JIKJIN’ started to play first followed by ‘SAME SAME DIFFERENT’. once the two songs have finished and the final rankings have been revealed to the public, the season slowly comes to an end.

… but it’s not the end of the idol journey for everyone else.

while the FUTURE DREAM CONTESTANTS slowly head back to their dorms to pick up their belongings, they began to hear noises from the intercom. rather than hearing HYUNCHEOL, ISEUL, or JEONGAN’s voices, one of the coaches ends up speaking instead on their behalf.

“all of the trainees except NABI, DOWOON, and PARKER must meet at the assigned locations on OCTOBER 10 at 10:00AM sharp! this isn’t the end of your journey yet because you have an important task ahead of you! for now, enjoy this rest period and good job, everyone!”

the message ends abruptly, but all of them were given the important details that would give some sort of insight as to what OCTOBER 10 holds for all of them via text.

just like what the above says, this isn’t the end just yet! after this post will be the TYPE ZERO MISSION, so DOWOON and PARKER will know their schedule ahead of time. for NABI and everyone else… you will get your mission next week! as usual, please look forward to it and thank you to everyone who has participated! it was quite a project to take on and with this coming to an end, that means that it’s the start of something new.

we would like to use the remaining bit of this post to reveal some of the details behind the ranking process. we’ve already mentioned in the past how WEEK 0’s prompts were scored, but since this season has finished we can talk more ooc wise as to how the rankings were for the rest of the season.

it’s best to first look at THIS PAGE where we’ve listed the rankings for each of the rounds in order to get a better understanding of the explanation we’re about to mention.

for “PART 0 / WEEK 3” ( the first column ), the blue cells indicate the muses who received additional points due to their perceived ranking and their actual rankings. the orange cells indicate the muses who lost points due to the same reason. the rankings after that ( as in for parts 1 and 2 ) were predominantly based on completion and submission of the writing requirements, distribution of the points earned during that period, team compositions, and whether your muse was debut ready.

as for the FD contestants, the only time they were aware of the full ranking list was during the finale and it was the last ranking ( the ranking closest to the right side ).

“Alright guys, I have to go now”. Bidding goodbye, Yn parted ways with their friends and strolled towards the bus station, headphones plugged inside their ears.

They saw a young man in the distance, desperately running to catch the bus but failing miserably. The man pulled a phone out of the pocket of his wide jeans, fingers moving on the display. He lifted the device to his right ear, the screen clinking against his earring.

By the time Yn had arrived the bus station, the male started talking on his phone. “Hey old man, I missed the bus. The next one? Uhm, wait lemme check…damn it, the next will be here in 20…yes, I’ll take care. I’ll hang up now, bye Channie hyung!“

The voice is kind of familiar, Yn thought. But they couldn’t make out whom it belonged to, quietly they sat down on the bench together.

Yn pulled out their phone to chance the music playing in their ears.

Choosing the playlist they created of their favorite artist, they clicked the shuffle button and streetlight started playing. It was one of the a little older songs they liked.

The male next to them copied, he pulled out his headphones too. Though, he selected an audio message he was sent.

Yn checked the time after a few minutes, the neon pink of the song’s cover catching the man’s attention. He knew the bright and contrasted colors all too well.

He plugged out the wireless headphones, tapping his bench-mate’s shoulder “excuse me?” Yn flinched a little since they had looked into the other direction and did not notice the latter’s movements.

They immediately took off the earbuds too, “yes, can I help you?” They looked into man’s eyes, unfortunately, his face was covered by a black mask and the shadow of a cap, so that was the only thing they could see.

“Not directly. Are you a STAY by any chance?” The man scratched his blond head nervously, only then did they notice the perfectly cut and blond mullet he had.

“Yes! Do you listen to Stray Kids too?”

The man nod his head abruptly, “yeah! Can I ask who your bias is?” Yn giggled slightly, “I love that question. So,” the stretched the last vowel while adjusting on the bench, making them face the young male.

“I don’t really have a bias, I adore them all equally. But oh Changbin, he is so adorable. I think he is my bias wrecker, I mean, have you seen him? That man is god sent! He is so so beautiful and his arms -I wish he could take me into a headlock with them, to be honest. And his rapping skills? And the vocals?! Ugh. But beside him, I am ot8 biased!”

Yn didn’t realize that they had begun ranting from excitement. They couldn’t help the dose of dopamine that flooded their body. “Man, I really hope I could meet them and tell them how much I appreciate their music, but more than that, themselves.”

The other one just listened to what they said carefully, his eyes sparkling with joy. “I bet they know how much they are loved”, “oh, they better do!” And with that, the little small talk turned into a conversation.

They didn’t even notice how fast time had passed in their enjoyment, until the bus pulled up. “Well, I need to take this one.” The boy looked up and checked the vehicle’s number, “hm, that’s my bus too!”

Inside, it wasn’t all too crowded. The man sat down, patting the free seat beside him. “Aren’t you going to sit down?” Yn grinned, sitting down next to him and pulling their bag into their lap while replying with a small “thanks”.

The first few seconds passed with a comfortable silence, the two youngsters looking outside the window peacefully. Until, the man spoke up: “by the way, what’s your name?” The latter huffed in amusement, “it’s Yn. What about you?”

The man hesitated for a second, but he knew what he was getting himself into when asking that question. “My name is Sky”, it wasn’t necessarily a lie. “That’s a pretty name, suits its owner”. Sky blushed at the compliment, his eyes forming into adorable crescents.

“Cheesy”, “I know” Yn shrugged their shoulders, grinning while doing so. “Cats or dogs?” They laughed out loud at his question. “Playing 21-Questions, aren’t we?” The latter only giggled entertained, “cats though, I like cats better.” That made him gasp dramatically, “HOW could you?!”

Yn laughed out loud again, “you behave like Seungmin, it’s cute”. They commented as they nudged his side with their elbow. He only chuckled, scratching his head, trying to act nonchalant.

“Well, you could be Minho-hyu- with your cat obsession!” His seat mate laughed at that, “fun fact: I’ve named my kitten ‘Lino’”.

They’ve continued the conversation until it was time for Yn to get off the bus.

“That’s my sign to get going, it was very nice meeting you, sir Seungmin-2.0!” Sky chuckled before quickly asking, “will you go to the fan meeting that is soon?” The other person nodded as they stood, “of course, I’ve even managed to get 3rd row seats!” They excitedly told him. “Really? We’ll meet then, I’ll look for you!”

Yn waved goodbye as they hopped out the bus’ doors, “I’ll look for you too!”

What they didn’t hear was Sky mumbling “that won’t be too difficult”.

The night was windy, so they hurried to get home. Only a few minutes they were cuddled up on the couch with a packet of instant ramen in their favorite flavor. They were just about to continue watching their show, when a notification popped up on their phone.

Quickly checking it out, they saw it was a YouTube live, started by the one and only I.N. As a result of that, Yn selected YouTube on their TV, rather watching the live than continuing their show.

Jeongin was answering to comments already, his ginger and white highlighted hair falling into his face. A door shutting was heard from the other side of the screen, making him look up by the noise.

“Oh, I think Seungmin got home”. And indeed, the boy in question appeared on the screen, wearing the same cap like Sky. A black mask in his hand as he waved at the screen. “Hello STAY, how are you?” He asked as he adjusted his blonde mullet, leaning onto the younger’s shoulder with all his weight. Jeongin whined, pushing the elbow off of him.

That’s when it hit them, inside Yn’s head the wheels started to work. “Wait, no. This can’t be, right?”

Yn is kinda stupid for taking so long to figure it out, lmfao
