Anyways very funny to see food allergy posting on our dash. We've recently learned there's a decent chance we're either sensitive or allergic to capsaicin, the thing that makes food spicy, which is very very funny to us specifically because we recently spent several weeks in Germany and spent the whole time halfway to starving to death because they didn't have anything Spicy and we are now discovering that apparently spice is "hostile to our body" and "not something we should be eating" despite it being a staple of our diet for most of our life
#we speak#we are not cutting it out of our diet btw. we would not survive. if we don't eat enough allergens in a week we will starve to death#fun fact as a small child we thought something which we now realize isnt even spicy was Mouth Burning Hot#which in hindsight should have been a sign however we continued to eat it regardless#anyways we feel connected to that one guy who assumed everyone was willing to suffer for their potato passions#but it's “apparently this is not the normal level of being willing to suffer for your spice passions”#if our throat feels puffy after shovelling a whole dish of curry down our gaping maw then that is the price we must pay for hubris#we assume the spice allergy comes from the side of our family currently living in germany btw#all love to them. we literally cannot spend too much time in germany or england because the food is too bland#the two weeks we spent watching their kid during carnivale would have killed us if we didn't find that indian place in amsterdam after#lamb vindaloo save us. save us lamb vindaloo.#this is possibly only funny to us btw. something something “diversity win the person who actively plans travel based on available spice”#“is allergic to the chemical that makes food spicy”#actually we can make a better joke about this hold on we need to make a better post

what I think the just dancers allergies are
Wanderlust is allergic to capsaicin (the chemical that makes things spicy) he loves spicy food so he is dependent on antihistamines.
Wanderlust is also allergic to lavender, his mum loves lavender so she was heartbroken when they found out cause she needed to throw all her lavender plants and scented things out because when Wanderlust was told not to do something he went and did it.
Sara has hay fever, she can't breathe if the pollen levels are medium or higher, she needs to get an injection during the spring and summer so she can go outside and even then she is constantly affected by the pollen.
Sara is also allergic to dogs, that doesn't stop her from having one. She is also allergic to peanuts.
Brezziana is the only one who doesn't have any allergies. The others are constantly giving her dirty looks when she is eating or doing something they can't. She claims to have skipped that part on the character creation menu, and the others didn't realise they could do that.
Jack is allergic to summer fruits flavouring, but not the actual fruits, he doesn't know why or how.
He's also allergic to pineapples, oranges, anesthesia and aloe vera. He is in constant annoyance because he can't use aloe Vera to help deal with skin irritation like most people would. He finds surgeries annoying because there will without a doubt be a joke about knocking him out with chair for it and he started to hate that joke after the third time.
Mihaly is allergic to tinsel, they learned about this when they put tinsel on their head as a child and ended up with an awful rash and swelling, (this actually happened to me when I was in primary school.), now they refuse to go anywhere near tinsel. Brezziana found this hilarious when she found out about this, she was also the first person to believe them about being allergic to tinsel without seeing them breakout after touching it.
They also have a chlorine allergy (not really an allergy but I'm counting it since you see an allergy expert for treatment and take antihistamines to stop the reaction).

hey i just wanna say, its nice to know other people get fucked over by the 'spices' label on shit at the store. it sucks but you aren't alone in being screwed over by corporations keeping secrets. (i'm allergic to capsaicin, the spicy chemical in chili peppers)
hopefully ur safe food will never be out of stock when you go looking
It is very nice to know I'm not the only one with allergies the "spices" label make very hard to handle, and I'm sorry you're also in this unfortunate group I'm not allergic to capsaicin myself but I can't tolerate it well because it's a vasodilator, so if I eat spicy food it tanks my blood pressure. So, like, not the same, but I know I personally have a lot of trouble figuring out the spice levels of foods I buy, and that's with me being able to tolerate some capsaicin. I'm sure it's a lot harder to try to figure out when you're allergic to it. I hope your safe food is always in stock and never changes their ingredients!
#incoherentbee#ask away!#allergy mention#food mention#allergies! the cinnamon one is probably my worst in terms of figuring out if a food has it#but coconut is sometimes listed as 'may contain coconut' on the label even when the ingredients say it doesn't#coconut happens to be my one and only instant food allergy#I am very lucky in that the rest of my food allergies take 4-8 hours to take effect#so I can usually take a benadryl early enough in the process to mitigate the reaction#(as long as I only try new foods when I'll be awake to notice the early symptoms)#but coconut I start wheezing as soon as it's in my mouth#luckily just wheezing not actual throat swelling up but still very unleasant#but like...tempting#if it 'may contain coconut'...I could know instantly#and if it doesn't I could eat the cookies#coconut might be an asthma trigger and not a food allergy? I am not sure#I suspect the line between asthma trigger and food allergy might be a blurry one#vinegar is the worst for me overall#just because acetic acid is in EVERYTHING#I can only use one manufacturer for my heart meds because the inactive ingredient the other one uses#is made using super concentrated acetic acid#and thus the meds that are supposed to raise my blood pressure#lower it. badly. and then I took another dose to help and it made it worse#that was a bad one to figure out

How can I do cuisine in sci-fi, especially taking into account food that are toxic or allergic or cultural prohibition in different species? How can I make up believable toxic or allergic stuff that isn't just plug whatever you want?
Tex: Substitutions, mainly - you can probably play around with quantities, where an amount that’s fine for Species A is a lethal dose for Species B, but the flavours wouldn’t meld together quite right and the recipe would need adjusting for ingredients Species B can use to achieve the same flavour profile as Species A’s original recipe.
As an example, say that Species A has a renowned recipe for spinach pie. Species B would be able to eat spinach, but not in the amounts required for an entire pie. Maybe they adjust the ratios - make an empanada with extra ingredients as filler, or maybe they swap out the spinach for a series of different plants to achieve the same texture, with some addition of spices or cooking method to get a similar taste as spinach.
On a fundamental level, nearly any imaginable species that can develop something so complex and requiring of communication as a cuisine is likely to have a generally similar process of cellular metabolism. The ratios comprising an ideal homeostasis might change, but the format should be highly similar. For something to be outright lethal for one species and homely on another would indicate such physically different biologies as to make their cuisines incompatible. An otter and an ape might find similarities, but an otter and a sea sponge are going to have some more difficulties.
Utuabzu: This is not an uncommon thing in nature. Plenty of species are able to consume things that are toxic to others - eg. koalas can eat eucalyptus leaves, which are toxic to just about everything else. Sometimes this even evolves as an evolutionary strategy for the organisms involved, like how chilis evolved to have high levels of capsaicin - the hot, spicy chemical - to deter most animals from eating their fruit, with the exception of birds, which are unaffected (and humans, who are known freaks), thus ensuring that their seeds would be spread far further than they might have been otherwise.
When you start dealing with ecosystems evolved on entirely different planets, this could be very much exaggerated. What is lethal to everything in one biosphere could be vital to another. Add in pressure and temperature differences and you could really have some fun - to a species that evolved on a cold world like Titan, with hydrocarbons acting as their solvent and with 'land' made of ice, a human drinking a cup of tea would be horrifying, lava heated almost to vapour with some more insanely hot liquid from a plant in.
Even in more Earthlike situations, it wouldn't be that strange for a planet where the main oxygen-transporter is something like hemocyanin (a copper compound used by some marine invertebrates instead of hemoglobin) to have plants and animals with copper levels high enough to poison humans (copper poisoning is a thing, it's why you shouldn't use pure copper pots and pans unless you really know what you're doing). Or a cold planet might have a form of antifreeze in all organisms (some polar organisms on Earth have this), which could again be toxic to humans. Even something benign in our biosphere could well be toxic to an alien species.
I would suggest looking into poisonings for some ideas about what you could use here.
Now, with that out of the way, if you're looking for how multispecies dining might work, I suggest you look into how migrant food cultures, particularly those from more than a century ago, work. Generally, if an ingredient was unobtainable (or impractically expensive) it would either be omitted or substituted. If it wasn't that important to the flavour profile it would likely be omitted, but if omission would unbalance the dish something similar would be sourced instead from what was locally available. In this case, this could mean trying to find roughly equivalent flavours and textures among the food items of another biosphere, or just accepting that everyone is going to eat separate things. Sharing a meal could well mean just eating in the same space at the same time rather than actually sharing a meal.
All this of course assumes that the species in question are all heterotrophs with similar social/psychological associations around eating. Obviously, an organism that primarily feeds via photosynthesis or chemosynthesis or passively filter feeds isn't going to really have a concept of a 'meal' or 'cuisine', and many species, particularly predators, prefer to eat alone and can become aggressive when others are near their food - they might have a concept of cuisine, but its suitability for other species would be of pretty minimal concern to them.
Feral: It’s important to note that there is a difference between a food that is toxic and an allergen. Whether or not someone experiences an allergy appears to have to do with that particular person’s gut biome. In theory any one person can be allergic to any one thing - though, of course, there are certain “common allergens” individuals are more likely to be allergic to. The point is that allergens would likely be worked around in a sci-fi setting the same way they are worked around now. The individual would be responsible for identifying whether a given ingredient is present, but there may be government regulations in place that would make it required for a food label to call out any common allergens that are present.
Toxicity in a plant or animal will be far more generalized to a given population. These are generally defense mechanisms that evolved to protect the given organism from destruction, but not all toxins are created equal. There is a very thin line between toxic and medicinal in some cases, like with digitalis from the foxglove plant. In other cases, what is toxic to some or even most animal species isn’t toxic to others, like with rabbits safely eating belladonna berries. And in some cases, humans just don’t particularly care whether or not something is toxic because either low enough levels cause some other, pleasurable effect, like with alcohol, or because the safe consumption of it can be used as a status symbol, like with pufferfish.
Another avenue to consider is food intolerance. And real world lactose intolerance may be a good jumping off point for your cultural considerations for intolerance, allergies, and toxins in a sci-fi setting, since its prevalence is so ethnically correlated.

ok so yk how it's like common knowledge that different alters can have different pseudo-allergies
that has become the bane of my existence.
one of us (I will find you) is lactose intolerant apparently, but only to straight milk???
another one is allergic to junk food (fuck you), and its the reason we actually normally stay out of junk food (out of fear)
ok so, today, I went to school, brought a coca cola because I have a drugish reaction to monsters and I was not about to go through that.
first period, I'm drinking my soda like normal, like a normal kid, and SUDDENLY I have to SHIT.
mind you, I never use the school bathroom during class it's like a crime.
apparently, SOMEBODY (probably me) got themselves allergic to coca cola, and now I'm deathly scared to drink the rest of it.
on a side note, there's a random ass chemical in those really spicy noodles that makes me throw up instantly

Ayurvedic Ways for Treating Allergies
Allergies can have a big influence on our everyday life by making us uncomfortable and upsetting our routines. While modern medicine provides good care, the ancient Indian holistic healing system known as Ayurveda offers different methods that emphasize the body's natural defenses and balance. Here, we'll look at a few Ayurvedic treatments and techniques that can effectively control and relieve allergy symptoms.
An Ayurvedic Approach to Understanding Allergies According to Ayurveda, allergies are caused by an imbalance in the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), which regulate many physiological processes in the body. An allergic reaction is a sign of increased sensitivity to a particular chemical, which sets off an immunological reaction. Restoring dosha equilibrium is the goal of ayurvedic practitioners in order to boost immunity and lessen allergic reactions.
Tips from Ayurveda for Managing Allergies Nutritional Modifications: Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on nutrition in preserving health. Including foods that soothe the irritated dosha can help with allergies. Vata can be balanced, for instance, by eating warm, cooked foods and avoiding cold, uncooked ones. meals that balance the Pitta dosha, such as ginger, cucumber, and mint, help minimize mucus formation, while meals that balance the Kapha dosha, such as spicy foods, can relieve inflammation.
Herbal Remedies: Strong anti-allergic qualities are found in Ayurvedic medicines. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric helps reduce allergic rhinitis and skin allergy symptoms. A mixture of three fruits called triphala helps to maintain healthy digestion and immunity in general. Nettle leaf, which has long been used to treat hay fever, can also help with seasonal allergies.
Nasya therapy: This is the process of putting herbal powders or oils into the nasal passages. Nasya therapy is helpful for sinusitis and allergic rhinitis because it reduces inflammation, clears congestion in the nose, and enhances respiratory function.
Detoxification (Panchakarma): Through a variety of purifying techniques, Panchakarma therapies seek to remove toxins, or ama, from the body. This lessens the body's sensitivity to allergens by balancing the doshas and boosting the immune system.
Lifestyle Changes: Adopting regular practices (dinacharya) that are in line with Ayurvedic principles, like yoga, meditation, and oil massage (abhyanga), can improve general health and strengthen resistance to allergens.

What are the negative effects of histamine found in seafood?
Histamine is a chemical that is found in seafood and other foods (it can be found even in the best Indian Ocean tuna). It is responsible for the "tingling" sensation that you feel when you eat something spicy. While histamine is generally harmless, it can have negative effects on some people. Histamine can cause an allergic reaction in some people, and it can also trigger migraines. If you are histamine-sensitive, it is important to avoid foods that contain high levels of histamine. Some seafood, such as tuna and mackerel, is particularly high in histamine, according to seafood export companies and fish processing companies. If you are histamine-sensitive, you may want to avoid these types of seafood altogether. There are also some Histamine-lowering medications that your doctor can prescribe if you find that you are sensitive to this chemical.
Histamine is not the only chemical found in seafood that can cause negative reactions. Fresh tuna suppliers say that another common chemical is mercury. Mercury is a heavy metal that can be toxic to the body in large amounts. It is important to limit exposure to such chemicals, as they can cause a wide range of health problems. If you are concerned about the effects of histamine or mercury in seafood, talk to your doctor. They can help you determine if you need to avoid certain types of seafood or take steps to limit your exposure to these chemicals.
Eating seafood is generally considered healthy. Seafood is a good source of protein, omega-three fatty acids, and other nutrients. However, some people may be sensitive to histamine, a chemical found in seafood. Histamine can cause allergic reactions such as hives, itching, and difficulty breathing. In severe cases, it can lead to anaphylactic shock. If you are histamine-sensitive, it is important to ensure that the seafood you eat is safe.
The best way to avoid histamine-related reactions is to avoid eating fish that are high in histamine. These include tuna, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, and herring. If you must eat these fish, be sure to cook them thoroughly. Histamine levels are highest in raw fish. Cooking helps to break down the histamine molecules and make them less likely to cause an allergic reaction. You can also try taking an antihistamine before eating seafood. This may help to prevent or reduce symptoms if you do have a reaction.

Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to breathing difficulties. While conventional medicine relies on inhalers, corticosteroids, and bronchodilators to manage asthma symptoms, some individuals seek complementary treatments like homeopathy.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of "like cures like" and uses highly diluted substances to stimulate the body's self-healing mechanisms. This article explores the homeopathic approach to managing asthma, common remedies, and the integration of homeopathy with conventional treatments.
Causes and Triggers:-
The exact cause of asthma is not known, but it is believed to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Common triggers include:
Allergens: Pollen, dust mites, mold, pet dander, and cockroach droppings.
Irritants: Smoke, pollution, strong odors, and chemicals.
Respiratory Infections: Colds, flu, and other infections.
Physical Activity: Exercise-induced asthma.
Weather Conditions: Cold air or sudden changes in weather.
Stress and Emotions: Strong emotions and stress can trigger symptoms.
Medications: Certain medications, such as aspirin or beta-blockers, can induce asthma.
Common Homeopathic Remedies for Asthma:-
Here are some frequently used homeopathic remedies for asthma and their indications:
Arsenicum Album
Indications: Wheezing, anxiety, restlessness, and symptoms that worsen at night.
Typical Triggers: Cold air, allergens, and stress.
Nux Vomica
Indications: Asthma attacks triggered by digestive disturbances, overeating, and exposure to irritants.
Typical Triggers: Stimulants, spicy foods, and alcohol.
Pulsatilla
Indications: Asthma with thick, yellow mucus and symptoms that change frequently.
Typical Triggers: Warm rooms, rich foods, and emotional stress.
Spongia Tosta
Indications: Dry, barking cough with a sensation of suffocation and difficulty breathing.
Typical Triggers: Dry air, lying down, and cold drinks.
Natrum Sulphuricum
Indications: Asthma with a wet cough and greenish expectoration, especially in damp weather.
Typical Triggers: Humidity, damp environments, and weather changes.
Ipecacuanha
Indications: Persistent cough with nausea and vomiting, chest tightness, and difficulty expectorating mucus.
Typical Triggers: Warm and humid weather, and allergens.
The scope of homeopathy in asthma:-
Homeopathy treatment can well manage the acute symptoms of asthmatic condition like difficulties in breathing, cough, fever, etc most effectively and more safely. During acute asthmatic attack homeopathy oral medicines as well as homeopathic mobilization developed by Dr.Satapathy gives instant relief to the broncho spasm and tightness of chest by preventing the muscles contraction and making the airways free to take normal breath.
Homeopathy treatment for asthma can cure the allergic condition too which one of the triggers factor for development of asthma.

International Red Sneakers Day
Not everyone knows that allergies can be life-threatening, so education on the fatality of allergies is one of the aims of International Red Sneakers Day, which is observed on May 20. The non-profit organization Red Sneakers for Oakley invites the entire world to join and requests that everyone wear their red shoes to draw attention to the rising food allergy problem, which affects around 250 million people around the world. Today provides an opportunity to use a straightforward but powerful symbol like red sneakers as a means of drawing attention to the severity of the challenges that people with food allergies face all around the world. The event also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the dangers associated with food allergies.
History of International Red Sneakers Day
On Thanksgiving Day in 2016, the Debbs family traveled to Maine with all of their extended family to celebrate the holiday. Because it was freezing outside, aside from spending most of the day participating in sports, Oakley Debbs also spent around two hours at a fun park bouncing on trampolines. After everyone went to eat dinner. Oakley did not eat his meal because he said it was too spicy.
Oakley returned home and ate a cake that included either nut extract or nuts without realizing it, resulting in a fatal allergic reaction. The unfortunate outcome was that he passed away, and his family felt that they were not adequately informed about the danger of allergic responses, which ultimately resulted in his death. In their opinion, Oakley’s allergist’s office did not provide them with sufficient information about the hazards of food allergies. In their ignorance, they did not realize that antihistamines (such as Benadryl) do not alleviate systemic symptoms and that epinephrine is the only first-line treatment for anaphylaxis. After that, they realized they needed to do something to stop this from happening to anyone else in the same situation. So to create public awareness and in memory of their son, they established the non-profit organization Red Sneakers for Oakley. It was only natural for Oakley’s parents to use his favorite shoes as a powerful symbol to convey the severity of his food allergies, given that he wore red sneakers in all of the sports that he participated in.
With the belief that education is needed between allergists, hospitals, first responders, parents, school personnel, and the general public at its core, the nonprofit organization’s mission is to raise awareness of food allergies around the world, and they have committed their resources to education and activism.
International Red Sneakers Day timeline
1910 Histamines
Sir Henry Hallett Dale makes the first discovery of histamines as a contaminant of ergot, which is produced by bacterial action.
1937 The Antihistamine Chemical
The first antihistamine chemical is identified by Daniel Bovet and found to be beneficial in treating allergic reactions because it counteracts the effect of histamines.
1944 Pyrilamine
Bovet’s invention, Pyrilamine, is made into a medication.
1980 The EpiPen
The EpiPen Auto-Injector is invented and goes on to save countless lives.

How to Observe International Red Sneakers Day
Wear red sneakers
Cook with allergies in mind
Hold a sports event
To celebrate the day, you can wear red sneakers, which were Oakley’s favorite kind. You can take a picture and upload it on social media to raise awareness. If you do not have red shoes, you can wear any red item you have.
Increase the ease with which people who suffer from food allergies can identify potentially dangerous items. Provide support for restaurant food protocols that are simple to understand.
Oakley loved playing sports. So, a good way to honor his memory is to organize sporting events. At the event, you can encourage people to make a donation that will help other people and go towards education, awareness, and community outreach programs.
5 Important Facts About Allergies
A delayed reaction
Cofactors
Anaphylaxis
Epinephrine vs. antihistamines
Keep two EpiPen Auto-Injectors
When anaphylactic symptoms first appear it may take up to an hour for the body to react.
Food allergies can be exacerbated by exercising before eating an allergen, and asthma as well as harsh weather conditions are also included in this group.
Use epinephrine if two bodily systems are affected after consuming an allergen.
Anaphylaxis can only be treated with epinephrine as the first-line treatment — antihistamines (such as Benadryl) may help with hives, but they are not capable of treating anaphylactic shock.
In the event of an emergency, you should always have two EpiPen Auto-Injectors on hand in case you need them.
Why International Red Sneakers Day is Important
It promotes engagement
It raises awareness
It creates a community for those with allergies
Red shoes and other red clothes are worn by people with food allergies to raise awareness of the issue among their friends. Friends, relatives, and acquaintances are encouraged to join in, which raises awareness about the need for food allergy education and advocacy. In the office, at school, and at home, today’s businesses, families, students, and parents are empowered with relevant messages.
To raise awareness of the seriousness of food allergies and anaphylaxis, International Red Sneaker Days seeks to provide a safer environment while teaching each other about the hazards of food allergies and how to prevent fatal anaphylactic reactions. This can be accomplished by working together with schools and the workplace to educate about allergy procedures.
People with food allergies and those who suffer from allergies can come together to show their support for each other during International Red Sneaker Day. This creates a sense of belonging where allergy sufferers can relate to one another in this way and it pushes for the unification of communities learning how to help one another.

Barbacoa is okay for dogs as long as it's cooked in a plain, unsseasoned way. Dogs can get protein from the meat itself, which is good for them. But it's important to get rid of any seasonings, spices, or ingredients that could be harmful.
Barbacoa meat that has been cooked plain can be given to dogs as a treat once in a while. Sometimes dogs can't handle certain meats, so it's important to be careful when giving them new foods.
Is barbacoa dangerous for dogs?
BBQ: Can Dogs Eat It? Barbacoa isn't poisonous to dogs by itself, but some of the ingredients that are often used to make it can be. For example, you should stay away from onions and garlic because they are poisonous. Also, meats that are too seasoned or spicy can make dogs sick and make their stomachs hurt.
Why barbacoa is good for dogs
Barbacoa is good for dogs because it has a lot of protein. Protein is very important for keeping muscles healthy and repairing them when they get damaged. Dogs can get protein from lean meats that are cooked and prepared especially for their needs, which are safer and better for them.
Barbacoa for dogs: How Much Can They Eat?
BBQ: Can Dogs Eat It? Here are some things to think about if you want to give your dog a small amount of plain, unseasoned barbacoa meat:
Pros of Limiting Consumption:
Protein Boost: The meat gives you extra protein, which helps your muscles stay strong and grow.
Variety: You can make your dog's food more interesting by giving it different protein sources.
Problems Caused by Too Much Consumption:
Upset Stomach: Eating too many rich meats can make your stomach hurt and make you feel sick.
Adding seasonings and spices to food can be dangerous for dogs and could make them sick.
What Should I Feed My Dog?
BBQ: Can Dogs Eat It? If you want to give your dog barbacoa meat that has been cooked but not seasoned, do these things:
Plain and Unseasoned: Make sure the meat is plain and unseasoned all the way through. There shouldn't be any spices, onions, garlic, or other ingredients that could be harmful.
Small Servings: As a test, give them a small piece of the meat. Keep an eye on your dog to see if he has any bad reactions, such as stomach problems.
Observe: After eating, keep an eye out for any signs of pain, allergic reactions, or digestive problems. If problems happen, you should talk to your vet.
Instead, give your dog protein sources that are safer and better for its health.
Other Options and Supplements
Here are some safe protein options that you could use instead of barbacoa:
Plain Cooked Chicken: Plain cooked chicken without the skin or bones is a good source of lean protein.
Let's talk about lean beef. Plain cooked lean beef can also be a source of protein.
Turkey: Another protein-rich food for dogs is plain cooked turkey meat.
Well-known brands of dog food
BBQ: Can Dogs Eat It? If you want to give your dog meals that are balanced and good for them, check out these well-known dog food brands:
Blue Buffalo: This brand is known for using only natural ingredients and real meat sources.
Hill's Science Diet has formulas based on science that are made to meet specific health needs.
Royal Canin makes formulas for different breeds and sizes of dogs.
In conclusion
BBQ: Can Dogs Eat It? Even though barbacoa makes our mouths water, it's not a good treat for dogs. Some of the seasonings and ingredients used in barbacoa are bad for dogs, so it's not a good choice for their diet. Make sure your dog's health and nutritional needs come first by giving them treats and foods that are made just for them. Before giving your dog new foods, you should always talk to your vet first.

Adoption application received!
Name - Siv
Age - 21
Climate - windy but not cold
Home size - medium
Other people or Pokémon? - No people, a Spritzee, an Alcremie, and a Banette
How many hours spent away from home for school/work? - 40 per week
Allergies or aversions? - allergic to pollen and feline dander, an aversion to sunlight
Anything else I should know? - I have anxiety, so a partner on the more predictable side would be nice. If it moves too quickly or if I have difficulty understanding how it might react, I'll get scared. I don't mind learning and getting used to the Pokémon, as long as I'll be able to predict it reasonably well after a few months.
Well Siv, it sounds like you’re looking for a partner that is a little on the easy side to care for, since you already have other Pokémon to care for, and spend a lot of time away from home. I’ve searched around the island, and found a few who would like to meet you that I believe you would be suited to care for.
Siv came to Foster Island, and after a few hours hanging out with the rescues, left with an Exeggcute named Ecoline who was turned in to us by a Pokémon Center. His previous trainer was only three years old, far too young to be caring for another living thing, and had been left unsupervised with Ecoline while dying eggs. The dye caused chemical burns, which eventually healed, however he was left permanently rainbow colored. The nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center convinced the parents of the kid that he was too young to care for a Pokémon, and they released him to the nurse. Although he is a team player, others of his species will pick on him for his coloration, and so had to be kept away from other Exeggcute while on the island. Ecoline does still require a little extra care due his burns; I recommend bathing him every two weeks with vinegar water instead of soap, and rubbing a little coconut oil into his shells every other day, especially after a bath. This Exeggcute should be kept out of high heat and direct sunlight for more than an hour at a time, and can wear an umbrella hat or use grass type safe sunscreen if they have to be out longer than that. His colors also make him stand out to predators, so keep him close by outside and watch out for flying and bug types. Exeggcute don’t eat much, but should snack once a day. Ecoline likes spicy berries. He also likes to sleep in a well fertilized flower pot with a leafy plant in it, if you can provide that for him. If Ecoline decides to evolve, he may or may not lose his colors; I’ve seen it go either way, however he probably won't continue needing the extra skin care. He will need more food, grass type, and more sun, however can be left outside by himself for a while if needed.
I do have to ask that you bring him back here in about six months for a check in, and to register him to your trainer I.D. as a safety precaution. Best of luck to you and your new partner!

How Long Does It Take To Get Food Poisoning?
You get food poisoning from poisoned or polluted food eating or drinking with pathogenic viruses, bacteria, parasites, poisonous chemicals or toxins. It doesn’t surely come from rotten or spoiled food. It might come from the delicious food that was just improperly handled or cooked.
What is food poisoning?
We think of food poisoning or illness; it’s a broad term that includes more than 250 kinds of disease-causing bacteria, germs, including Salmonella, E. coli and rotavirus. Those germs can cause diverse degrees of nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, depending on several factors.
Infectious germs or their toxins can spoil food at any point of processing. The food is contaminated by bacteria that can also occur at home if food is incorrectly controlled or cooked.
What are the symptoms of food poisoning?
When you consume contaminated food and first experience symptoms, it could be anywhere from under one hour to one week. Food poisoning symptoms depends upon the cause of the contamination.
As an example, symptoms of a bacterial disease linked to undercooked pork (Yersiniosis), can appear between four to seven days after eating the contaminated food.
Food poisoning symptoms vary that usually arise within one to two days of eating spoiled food. However, they may start between a few hours and several weeks later with the source of infection.
This mainly includes one or more of the following signs and symptoms:
Feeling Sick (Nausea)
Abdominal pain and cramps
Vomiting
High fever
Lack of energy and weakness
Loss of taste
Diarrhea
These sickness symptoms will last for a few days, and you will make a full recovery. Food poisoning usually affects the digestive tract and throat.
Types of food poisoning
Escherichia coli (E. coli):
E.coli is the leading cause of bacterial spread on beef. It poisoned the meat with feces during slaughter and spread mainly by undercooked beef. Other causes include unpasteurized milk and apple cider, alfalfa sprouts, and polluted water.
Enteritis:
Intestinal infection (enteritis) is an extremely common illness. You’ll need to avoid food for a while and start taking plenty of fluids. In most cases, the illness will pass in one to three weeks. If the symptoms come on suddenly, you should contact your doctor immediately.
Clostridium botulinum:
Botulinum spread on homemade foods with low acidity, improperly managed commercial foods, smoked or salted fish, potatoes baked in aluminum foil, and other foods kept at warm temperatures for too long. Clostridium perfringens commonly spread when serving dishes like soups and sauces don’t keep hot enough or chilled too slowly.
Anaphylactic Shock:
If you’re allergic to a particular food, you may develop a rough reaction after eating that food. Sometimes, you won’t even notice the problem to consider as mild food poisoning symptoms. You will have to tell that you’re allergic to any particular food before eating to avoid getting an attack.
You can minimize your exposure by staying away from that food as much as possible. That’s better than suffering an embarrassing reaction right in front of everyone at the party.

How long does food poisoning last?
As we told, more than 250 types of food poisoning. While the symptoms may be similar, the length of time it takes to get better differs. Depending on: what substance caused the contamination and how much of it you ingested?
Food poisoning recovery time depends on many factors. These factors include the amount of food ingested, your general health, severity of the problem, and your symptoms’ seriousness.
If you suffer only minor symptoms, you may be able to recover in a day or two. If you have severe symptoms, you may need a week or two. Sometimes, people recover within a day or two without needing medical attention.
You may be out of work for a couple of days. You may experience some discomfort after the initial signs of food poisoning. But, over time, you should be back to your old self.
However, in some cases where the illness is severe enough, the symptoms don’t go away for a few days. The best thing how to know if you have food poisoning, is to consult your doctor for more advice. Some medicines can help you recover faster.
How to prevent food poisoning?
You can avoid food poisoning by following the basics of food safety in your home:
Be sure to protect yourself if you will drink any water from rivers, streams or lakes.
Make habit to wash your hands after treating raw meats, using the toilet, or being around ill people.
Wash fruit and vegetables, even if you’re going to uncover them.
Don’t share a plate of uncooked meat, poultry, and fish with different foods.
Use separate cutting boards and knives for meat, poultry, and eggs.
Don’t use food that has passed its expiry date.
A bacterium multiplies fast between the temperatures of 40 ͦF (4 ͦC) and 140 ͦF (60 ͦC). So, you need to preserve food above or below that temperature range.
Use a meat thermometer for cooking. Meat, fish, and poultry should be cooked to at least the recommended temperature.
After marinating meat, please don’t use the remaining marinade without boiling it.
Refrigerate or freeze perishable food inside at least two hours. Frozen food should be melted in the microwave, or under hot water.
Keep yourself, hydrated! And, remember to throw away leftover food.
What does food poisoning feel like?
Viral gastroenteritis is also known as a stomach bug. It spread through viruses that most frequently include norovirus, rotavirus, and adenovirus.
The norovirus affects around 21 million cases of the stomach bug in the USA each year. Other viruses such as astroviruses may also cause this condition. Stomach bug caused by a rotavirus or norovirus disease is extremely contagious.
In the United States, the infection most commonly occurs between October and April. The most common way to spread this by knives or an infected food handler. You can also get the virus from contact with something somebody infected has touched that contains raw or contaminated meat, poultry, milk, or egg yolks having faeces, saliva, or vomit substance with the virus in it.
Diarrhea, intestinal cramps, nausea and vomiting, are the main symptoms of stomach bug.
Do you get a fever with food poisoning?
Viral or bacterial food poisoning can seldom cause fever. It’s best to focus on balance and high energy diet. That would be rice, bread, rice pudding, applesauce, toast, bananas and chicken noodle soup.
You want to drink a lot of fluids, rather than just water. Water is isotonic. Suppose you’re ill and you are losing plenty of water or having sweating and get a fever with food poisoning.
In that case, the best supplement is not exactly water. It really should be a not-isotonic fluid. That would be something with sugar, salt or electrolytes inside, such as Gatorade, broth, ginger ale or juice. When you consume that sort of fluid, you usually keep it in your body to recover from fever. It’s less likely just to run off or go straight to your kidneys where you’ll urinate it out, or you have diarrhea.
It would be best if you stayed away from food that is harder to your digestive tract to digest, such as greasy, fried or spicy foods.

Trust Comic Funfacts
(Aka I lost all my progress on the next page, I just pulled a 60/hr work week, I feel like death but I still wanna give you guys content)
So basically a bunch of random little tidbits for the Trust Comic version that may or may not show up in comic.
* Most monsters currently alive do not actually remember the outside world anymore, and many of their phrases/idioms are either relics of their parents or are entirely new for the underground. Those that are still alive and still remember the outside are King Asgore, Toriel, Grillby, Nora, Gerson, Bertram, Frank, Gnash, Rudy, Napstablook, and Flowey. Plus three others I cant talk about yet.
* Grillby eventually builds a fence in the backyard of his house to give the boys a secure place to play when the canine unit is to busy to keep an eye out. He had to extend it when he discovered Papyrus could easily jump over it. Twice. He gave up after that but installed a door for them to use instead of just hoping a fence.
* Nora canonly beat the fuck out of Berdley's mother to get custody of him when he was in his early teens. He had managed to get an internship with Nora since Noelle was transfering and during his initial training Nora picked up that his mother wasnt a very good person. Specifically she was an emotionally abusive Stage Mom.
So Nora beat her over the head with her can when the bird came to berate Berdley at the archive and then used the fact she is technically royalty to strong arm Berdley's mother into giving her full custody. Berdley has recently tried reconnecting with his birth mother with.... no success. He feels he probably turned out to be a much better person because of this.
* Nora knows about the existence of the Dark World, but hasn't gone there herself yet. Elci doesnt know what the Dark World is but has been there and assumes it was a dream. (Related, Asgore and Toriel both know of it as well, with both having visited on occasion before being sealed in the Underground)
* Noelle visits Snowdin a lot, mostly to visit her retired father. She's friends with the Nice Cream Guy and Snowy.
* Nora used to actually go out pretty frequently to Hotland to visit the restaurant in the MTT Resort and also the Royal Scientist Lab. She sends Berdley to get her takeout now and avoids the lab.
* Grillby owns a house with multiple bedrooms originally for his extended family so they would have a place to stay if needed be.
* All the other Fire Elementals thing Grillby is weird for liking cold environments like Snowdin, but he genuinely likes the way the chill feels. Also he likes the aesthetic of a winter town.
* Despite being a fire elemental that genuinely likes spicy foods, Grillby never stocks or prepares any items with Jalapeno in them. There's been lots of theories as to why but when Dogressa asked him (due to having a huge craving for jalepeno poppers) he admitted it's because his spouse was allergic, so he couldn't bring himself to stock them in his business.
* On a related note, some recipies he uses were specifically designed to his spouse's preferences, which still stands despite the two not seeing each other in over a century.
* When Sans and Papyrus became more comfortable at Grillby's house, they would start to explore at night. Since locked doors made them nervous, Grillby put all the dangerous cleaning chemicals in high cabinets that they couldn't reach and had wire lights installed on the ground level so they could see in their late night execution. On days that Sans wasn't doing so well, Grillby would hide snacks and sweets for the boys to find during the night.
* No one actually locks their doors in Snowdin, and when the kids are out playing it's not actually uncommon for them to all burst into someone's house for a quick water break before heading back out. If Grillby's is open it is usually his restaurant thou.
* As they get older, Sans and Papyrus do take up the odd jobs here and there. Usually in exchange for some sort of sweet. The only stipulation they have is the job has to keep them in Snowdin.
For the most part, Sans just helps out at Grillby's, usually bussing tables, doing dishes, or serving the occasional drink. Papyrus is far to high energy to stay in one place for long, so usually he is out with the canine unit learning to do Search and Rescue. Sometimes the towns folk will give him the 'job' of delivery boy. Which is usually just them asking him to run a letter or small box across town and drop it off somewhere random. There is usually nothing in the letter/box, it's just to help him burn off excess energy.
* Papyrus got so scared of "Santa" the first time he came to town that he cried and his in Grillby's coat. Sans nearly blasted "Santa" for it, but the three are cool now.
* papyrus has bitten Nora's tail about three times. The first time she accidentally launched him in the air by reflex, which Papyrus thought was the best thing ever. She only allowed him to do it two more times before stopping him.
* Asgore often sends tea to his friends as a gift. Usually it is Golden Flower Tea, but he does have several plants to make preferred blends such as the harvest moon blend for Nora and a triple mint blend for Noelle.
* Papyrus once said he found a talking flower that Grillby told him was an Echo Flower, assuming it was one of the echo flowers that were kept in the bar or at Dogamy and Dogressa's place. He didn't think much of it when Papyrus said it was a different color.
* Grillby does have PTSD from the war, though he had received treatment and still does sometimes see a therapist for certain stressors.
* monsters have an odd concept of Time due to being underground. There are actually three areas that one can see the sky outside the underground in some capacity (the Ruins, above the Core that is to high to reach due to being the very top of mount Ebott, and an exit way that can be seen from the barrier in the castle at New Home that only Asgore has access to). Due to this, their ability to tell what time it is, is very skewed and relies heavily on magical 'sundials' invented long ago along with repaired human technology that comes from the trash dump.
Due to Asgore being the only one to actually be able to see the sun rise and fall outside, there is a sort of system in place that was erected a few years ago where a device was placed above the core that could measure the sunlight and give an approx reading of the time based on that, which was then projected onto special screens around the Underground. The oldest monsters have tracked the date as best they could, and sometimes compare it to soggy newspapers from the trash heap or when they turn on some sort of tech that can still connect to limited wifi to update the date and time. This information is also projected onto those screens.
* Sans, Papyrus, Elci, Undyne, and Alphys play DnD sometimes after Alphys found some books in a box in the trash heap. Alphys tends to be the DM but will switch with Sans if need be.
