this show is crazy because it's a comedy meanwhile it throws very serious situations and implications your way. funnily enough the cannibalism is not the most serious aspect of the show. to me at least. like thinking about how things were just 20-30 years ago etc etc :/ and what it means for both ben and paul :/ yeah i got it

Are Reylos Aware of the #ReleasetheJJCut Movement?

Hello All, it has been awhile. Figured to throw this out there since so far I have not seen a reylo tumblr talking about this, of course it's very possible I just missed it... 

BUT, it does appear that there is a possibility that JJ Abrams actually did not create an intentional F-you to the reylo vision afterall. As you all may see in the link below, possibly up to 40 minutes of footage is missing from JJ's original cut and he was NOT happy about it. Now, could it be that it is not JJ we are to direct our heat but rather Disney?? Is it at all possible to make enough noise that could help Abrams succeed with a re-release of a more "complete" version of TROS - similar to how Avengers 4 and Cats were re-released into theaters? I know I would indeed go see TROS in theaters in it's pre-edited-40-extra-minutes-of-footage condition, you betcha.

So the fiasco going on against the reylo community just overall... as the saying goes bad publicity is good publicity y'know? Makes you wonder, just what if it's all just to hype up a re-release maybe. Perhaps there were not enough people who knew/understood reylo to allow a happily-ever-after presentation of the dyad? I personally know a star wars fanatic and he was totally shocked by their kiss, he was like "omg, so it actually was a thing".   It does appear that there are several camps that were unhappy with the overall ending of TROS, and that the actual ending, even according to Daisy, was so beautiful it left everyone on set speechless. 

I don't know how true all this about the JJ cut thing is, but I sure hope it is. And if this be true, I too will owe JJ Abrams an apology - perhaps even Abrams didn't intend for Ben Solo to have such a patchy end? Hmm...

As the night of the Oscars has just ended, I am getting rambly...

I have been a fan of Queen since I can remember, I was born in 82. My dad was always a fan of Queen and we would always turn up the volume when they played on the radio but we never really had any records until we got our first CD player in 1989. I had saved money and I went with my dad to buy my first CD.. I chose Queen Greatest Hits one. My dad told me to choose another one as well, as his gift. I got Mr Bad Guy too. Those were my first albums ever. Couple or years later I had all of their albums.

I used to buy Queen fanzines and magazines cos it was the only way to get content (no internet those days folks). I would get their concerts on VHS and record their videos from the TV waiting all day to press the record button at the right moment.

When I was 8, I used to say that when I grew up I wanted to marry Brian May (I still do tbh).

I lived Freddie's death. I cried for days. One year later I cried watching The Freddie Mercury Tribute at Wembley.

The day Made In Heaven was released in 95 I waited outside the record store until they would open so I would get it early. Went home and listened to it. Crying again. I was 13. I still cry listening to that album so I usually avoid it if I'm being honest.

I have been a fan of Queen my whole life. There have been years or periods where my musical tastes have changed and periods where I didnt listen to Queen as much. But I always come back to them. Queen is the music that feels home to me.

I recall the first time I heard about a movie about Queen and Freddie to be made years ago. More than 10 years. But to be honest I didn't think it was ever going to be made.

Yet it hapenned. It got made despite all odds despite all the sh*tshow that went down during casting with Cohen. And then Rami! of all people was cast (I met him in 2010 and NEVER FOR THE LIFE OF ME THOUGHT HE WOULD END UP PLAYING FREDDIE), and filming and the "he who shall not be named" firing. But it happenned

And oh darlings, despite the flaws and literary licenses and timelines and all the things that are not perfect, it really is perfect anyway for exactly all of those reasons. Queen was never a perfect band. Freddie was never a perfect man. The film is as complex and flawed and OH SO WONDERFUL as it should be.

Cos here we are. It got us together and that's what it is about. People are passionate about this film. Everyone I know that has seen it in theaters went multiple times. I went 3 times. I may go again (still in theaters here folks!) My sister who used to say I was SO ANNOYING about Queen and literally threw my fanzines away 20 years ago saw it 5 times in theaters (she finally apologized for throwing my Queen things away. I didn't forgive her though.. I will hold that grudge forever).

Freddie is surely proud. I know he is. I can feel he is.

And the fandom.

Being an "old" Queen fan from the pre-internet days of fanzines, the Tumblr fandom is still a confusing and somewhat weird environment for me. But I love it. I love to see all of you loving Queen, loving Fred, Deaky, Rog and Bri. And Jim and Miami and Mary. And Rog's sparkly pink shoes. All part of their history. I usually mainly lurk and I feel awkward posting but I try lol.

And the wonderful cast and crew that we got. I have already mentioned Rami but OH RAMI OMG. One of the sweetest guys I have ever met by random chance ended up playing my idol and really guys it is still the weirdest thing for me to get my head around. Tbh I think I have a case of dissociative mental conflict about it. And Gwilym and Joe and Ben and Lucy and EVERYONE was perfect. Even when they weren't.

What a RIDE this movie has been. And it's not gonna be over. Like Rami said, Queen is forever. Freddie is forever.

Thank you fandom. We are a family. And Queen is our home.

Bohemian Rhapsody got us together and for that I will be forever thankful to this OH SO WONDERFUL FILM, my darlings.
