“Why wouldn’t I want to be friends anymore?” he asked. You bit your lip, looking away, and he called your name softly. You hesitantly raised your eyes to meet his gaze. “I’m not just gonna leave and ignore you after we hook up, okay? I’m not like those other guys you used to date either.”

After that hot summer day, you didn’t see Jason much for the rest of the week.
Not that you were expecting to see him; he had his own life, being in a band and working part-time, so it’s not like you could expect him to always be around. But after your last hangout, you couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious about him being MIA. Yeah, you'd agreed to keep things chill, but what if he’d changed his mind? What if he didn’t want to see you, or worse, what if he didn’t want to be friends anymore?
You also couldn’t help thinking about the last time you were together, and how Jason had talked about all the things he had in store to show you.
All in all, you spent most of your days pretty distracted, so much so that you totally forgot about your parents’ wedding anniversary and that they’d be away camping for the weekend. That meant you and your brother, Andrew, would have the whole place to yourselves for the next few days.
With him and Andy being so close and the pool in your backyard perfect for the summer heat, you figured you’d probably see Jason around eventually. And you were right; as you were getting ready to spend Saturday by the pool, you heard the doorbell ring and the familiar noise of your brother rushing down the stairs, followed by Jason’s voice.
You bit your lower lip, looking at your reflection in the vanity mirror as you finished brushing your hair, trying to ignore how his voice made your heart flutter. You knew if you didn’t want things to get weird, you’d have to go down and talk to him. It’s not like you didn’t want to see Jason, but you were worried he might see you differently after not talking to you for most of the week. Plus, no way in hell did you want your brother to suspect anything had happened between you two.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a few knocks on your bedroom door. You stood up quickly and opened it, blinking in surprise when you saw Jason, not missing the way his eyes wandered quickly through your body before meeting yours.
“Hey,” he said, making a small smile instantly appear on your lips, “Andy told me to come get you. I brought beer.”
“Oh, cool! I’ll be down in a minute, just need to change.”
“Gonna put on that cute black bikini?” he grinned, and your face flushed as you felt the faintest hint of butterflies growing restless in your stomach. “Don’t be long, then.”
You changed quickly into the black bikini Jason had mentioned, grabbed your sunglasses, a magazine, and a towel, then headed downstairs. You smiled as you walked out to the backyard, seeing Jason and your brother chatting and sipping on beers while the radio played some tunes softly.
“There she is!” Andy grinned when he saw you. “Beer’s in the cooler, sis. I was just about to head to the store to grab some snacks.”
“We’ve got those potato chips Mom bought in the cupboard,” you said, grabbing a bottle for yourself. You sat down in one of the lounge chairs by the pool. “You could bring us some dip.”
“On it. Be back in a jiffy. Don’t drink all the beer while I’m gone!” Andy said as he left. You chuckled softly, then leaned back on the chair, flipping through your magazine as the sun warmed your skin.
You blinked, surprised, when Jason took the magazine from your hands and sat on the edge of your lounge chair, his rough denim shorts brushing against your thigh. You raised an eyebrow, and he smiled.
“You’re just gonna sit there and read?” he asked. “Don’t you wanna come into the pool with me?”
“I just put on sunscreen. Gotta wait a bit before I can get in the water, you know?” you shot back, and he smiled. You tried to ignore the way your heart fluttered when he rested his hand on your thigh, his rough palm against your skin.
“You know you look hot in that, don’t you?” he asked, his voice low, and you blushed. You giggled, rolling your eyes.
“Jase, you don’t have to get all flirty just because we hooked up. I’m not like all those other girls you hang out with.”
“Of course not,” he inched closer. “I’m saying it because it’s true, though.”
Your breath hitched when he pressed his lips to yours, his tongue moving slowly against yours as he squeezed your thigh. Kissing him for the first time had been awkward, but now the feel of his lips made your whole body tingle, desire coursing through you like poison. He nibbled on your lower lip, and you sighed, resting one hand against his chest.
“What was that for?” you whispered, and he laughed softly.
“I missed your taste,” he said, making you blush. “I’ve been thinking about you all week…”
“If that’s true, then how come I haven’t seen you at all?” You tried to sound casual, but your voice gave away how upset you actually were. Jason raised an eyebrow, surprised, his hand moving from your thigh to your chin, gently tilting your head to meet your downcast eyes.
“I was busy with band stuff,” he said simply. You huffed, not entirely convinced.
“So it wasn’t because you didn’t want to be friends anymore?” you asked.
You sighed, feeling a wave of relief wash over your worries. You hadn’t fully realized how much your shitty past relationships had made you worry about Jason’s behavior. But Jason was right; you’d known each other for years, and you trusted him completely. It wasn’t worth stressing over stuff like this when you knew he’d never hurt you like other people had.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled. Jason hummed, gently caressing your hair before leaning in for another kiss.
“It’s okay,” he whispered, his lips softly moving against yours. You leaned closer, wrapping your arms around his neck, a small sigh escaping your open lips as his hand caressed your thigh, his fingertips dangerously close to the growing wetness between your legs.
“What if Andy comes back?” you breathed between kisses, your face flushing as Jason pushed the fabric of your bikini aside, his fingers searching for your clit. “Jase, what if someone sees us?”
“We’ll just have to be quick,” he whispered, and you moaned softly when he pressed his fingertips against your clit, using his other hand to spread your thighs apart. You let out a small, surprised noise when he kneeled, pulling you to the edge of your seat before his tongue found your clit. You buried a hand in his hair, biting back a moan as he pushed two fingers inside you, curling and moving them slowly while he licked and sucked on your wetness.
“Fuck, Jason,” you muttered, eyes fluttering shut as his touch made your whole body tingle, heavy breaths escaping your lips as you bucked your hips forward. Jason let out a breathy laugh, his fingers’ movements making you moan.
“Gotta be quieter, princess,” he whispered, and you rolled your eyes, laughter escaping your lips. Jason kissed your inner thigh softly, his tongue going back to your clit, the wet pressure of his movements making your breath catch.
You closed your eyes, fingers tangling in his hair again, trying not to moan as the knot in your belly tightened. Jason picked up the pace of his fingers inside you, making your toes curl as you let out small moans.
“Jase…” you moaned, but he didn’t ask you to keep it down this time, too focused on pleasuring you with his fingers, his kisses, his tongue.
You moaned softly as you felt your insides squeeze around his fingers, starting slow but getting harder and harder until you threw your head back, your chest heaving as the intensity of your orgasm washed over your body, trembling as you tried to keep quiet. You gripped Jason’s hair a bit harder, rocking your hips as he helped you ride the waves of pleasure, his tongue’s movements getting sloppier until he finally stopped, pressing a soft kiss against your clit before putting your bikini back in place.
Jason got up, sitting beside you on the lounge chair before pressing his fingertips against your lips. You opened your mouth, tasting yourself as you sucked on his fingers, and he let out a low, satisfied sound before kissing you again. You moaned into his kiss, the fire inside you far from quenched as you pulled him closer, your hand sliding down from his chest to his belly and then to the button of his shorts.
“What are you up to?” Jason asked, his smile evident in his voice. You nibbled on his lower lip softly, undoing his shorts’ button and pulling the zipper down before palming his hardness through the fabric of his underwear, satisfaction blooming in your chest when you heard his breath catch.
“Gotta take care of this before my brother gets back,” you whispered, and he grunted as you pulled his underwear down, your hand wrapping around the base of his cock. He was so pretty, all hard and already wet with precum as you stroked him slowly. “What if he catches you like this, hard for his sister?”
“God,” Jason moaned, and you giggled softly. “If you keep talking like that…”
“What happened to being quiet?” you asked, and he grunted, his hand tangling in your hair as he pulled you closer for another kiss. You moaned into his mouth, massaging his cock’s tip with your thumb as you stroked him faster and faster.
“I’m gonna make a mess,” Jason moaned, his free hand gripping the edge of the chair so hard his knuckles turned white. “Princess, when I cum, I’m gonna…”
“It’s okay,” you whispered in his ear before taking him into your mouth.
Jason let out a long, low moan as his grip on your hair tightened, and you moaned softly against his skin as you sucked on his cock slowly. You closed your eyes, tasting the saltiness of his skin against your tongue as you moved your head up and down, trying your best to fit him into your mouth while your hand wrapped around his base. You focused on his tip, pressing your tongue flat against it at first, then using the tip of your tongue to massage it in small circles.
He let you take the lead at first, but eventually the pleasure became too much; Jason grunted, bucking his hips forward, pushing his cock into your mouth, slowly, then harder, his fingers tangled in your hair as he pushed your head down. You gagged softly, closing your eyes as you let him take control, trying to steady your breath as he moved inside your mouth, harder and faster, his breath getting more irregular as he got closer to his peak. He let out a low moan, hips pushing into your mouth one last time as he came, and you moaned when you felt his thick cum shoot into your mouth.
You pulled away, barely having time to swallow before his lips crashed into yours, his hands pulling you closer, and you knew then this hadn't been nearly enough for either of you. You needed more of him, and you knew Jason felt the same. You leaned back in the chair, Jason leaning forward to keep kissing you as one of his hands grabbed your waist, his tongue moving against yours while you moaned into his mouth.
“I’m back!” you heard your brother’s voice from inside the house, and suddenly Jason’s lips were nowhere near yours as he stood up, quickly pulling his pants up and grabbing his half-full beer bottle. He settled into the other lounge chair as you hastily grabbed the magazine you were reading and opened it to a random page. You glanced up as your brother walked into the backyard, a plastic bag in one hand and a beer crate in the other, while you tried your best to steady your breath. “I got cheese dip and more beers. And some frozen pizza for later,” he announced.
“Thanks, Andy,” you said, trying to play it cool as you turned a page from your magazine. Andy frowned, looking confused as he glanced at you, and you bit your lower lip, heart racing as his eyes quickly scanned your face.
“Did you forget sunscreen again? Your face's all red,” he said, still puzzled, and Jason snorted. You looked away, trying to ignore how his comment made you blush even harder.
“You know what, I think I did. I’m just gonna go to the bathroom and put some on,” you stood up, eager to escape the situation and get away from your brother's attention. He shrugged, taking the spot you had vacated as his attention shifted to Jason.
“Dude, wanna crash here tonight? We could watch those new horror flicks I got,” Andy asked, distractedly reaching for the cooler. You stopped, blushing a bit when Jason lifted his eyes to meet yours, a small, mischievous smile appearing on his lips.
“Sure,” he answered, eyes locked on yours as he spoke. “Bet it’s gonna be a fun night, don’t you think?”

Mia wakes up from the movement of her boyfriend stirring in his sleep. His arm was wrapped around her waist protectively and her head, as well as her arm, rested on his chest.
She winced at the dull pain in her head and soon realised she didn’t remember much of what happened last night.
Mia tried to untangle herself from Soobin without waking him in the process, and as she did so she started to look for her phone, finding it in the charger on Soobin’s desk. She grabbed it, looking for clues on social media as to what happened last night. She looked at the Instagram stories of some people that were at the party, but nothing stood out to her.
She realised you hadn’t posted anything and frowned. That’s unlike you.
Something in her told her to check for Yeonjun’s story, but again. Nothing. Very unlike him too.
She sighed looking back at her boyfriend who was still sound asleep.
“Something is off,” she whispers to herself.
You wake up with heavy lids. Usually, the first thing you do is grab your phone. But this time you just stare at the ceiling.
Last night was the most eventful night you’ve had since you started college and not in a good way.
It started out great, though it ended quite abruptly and well, terribly.
You close your eyes again as your mind flashes back to what had happened right before you left.
“Y/n,” Soobin says cautiously. “I-” he starts but you don’t let him finish.
You tear your eyes off of Yeonjun and Yeji, who by now had detached themselves from each other as they giggled to themselves.. They hadn’t noticed any eyes on them yet, especially yours.
“I want to go home,” you say saddened, turning back around to Soobin. He still wasn’t able to tear his eyes off of Yeonjun and Yeji as he stared at them, fire emitting from his pupils.
“Soobin,” you warn him. “Let’s get Mia and let’s go. Now. Please” you plead.
Soobin finally looked at you, his heart breaking into a million pieces seeing the way your face fell. If it wasn’t for your pleading tone to leave the party, Soobin would have probably launched himself at Yeonjun.
This was exactly what he was afraid of, but not in a million years did he guess it would happen this way.
“Ok, ok. Let’s go,” Soobin says taking your hand and leading you through the crowded house.
You left without saying a word to anyone else, avoiding as many people as you could.
Mia was fast asleep in the back seat of the car, and you silently stared out of the window lost in deep thought.
Soobin didn’t bother to start talking to you about what happened, knowing it would be to no avail.
“Are you sure you want me to take you to your place? You live alone…I don’t think-”
“I want to be alone,” you say cutting him off, your voice weak and hoarse.
Soobin nods at your request. He put his hand on your thigh to comfort you before making a left to drop you off at your place.
The buzzing of your phone snapped you back to reality, and when you see the caller ID you sigh, it’s Mia.
You want to tell her everything, but you don’t really know where to start. Somehow you feel thankful for the fact that she was shitfaced drunk last night, cause if she wasn’t, she would have killed Yeonjun.
You let your phone ring until it goes to voicemail, but much to your dismay, Mia calls again.
You knew she wasn’t going to stop until you picked up. So you accept her call at the third try.
“Hey,” you say, your voice still laced with sleep.
“Hey, are you okay? Where are you? I don’t remember anything from last night and I need you to fill me in. What happened? Did you and Yeonjun kiss? Or better yet? Did you fuck? Is he with you?”
Mia’s questions are like a whirlwind to your scrambled thoughts and her words basically go in one ear and out the other. You wince at her mentioning Yeonjun, sighing and burying your face in your pillow wanting to scream.
When you stay quiet on the other end of the line she realises that something was up.
“Y/n?”
You take a deep breath and tell her everything in one go. From the fight you had with Soobin, to the walk you had with Yeonjun, all the way to the MTV Cribs tour you had with Johnny. You explained further on how Beomgyu, Soobin, and Yeonjun barged in and how hostile and angry Yeonjun suddenly got.
Mia didn’t react much other than a few ‘What the fucks’ until you got to the part where Soobin basically made you cry as you reconciled, now getting to the juiciest part of it all.
“And then I witnessed Yeonjun basically eating Yeji’s face in front of everyone.”
“N-O,” Mia gasped. She couldn’t believe it. Anger filled her senses as she inhaled sharply.
“Dude. ‘I’m here. I’m at Soobin’s. He didn’t take me to my place, he took me to his place. That means that Yeonjun is next door. FUCK,” Mia whisper-screamed.
You sit up, your eyes growing big. “Mia, I swear to god. Do. Not. And I mean, DO NOT say or do anything to Yeonjun,” you curse at yourself for not asking where Mia was before. You should have known Soobin would take her with him since he would want to take care of her.
You nervously bite the inside of your cheek, waiting for her to reply.
“You want me to pretend like everything’s okay when you just told me all of that?” She scoffs. “I guess you don’t know who you’re talking to,” Mia says walking out of Soobin’s room.
None of the other boys had woken up yet, so the living room was empty. She looked at the door to Yeonjun’s bedroom, biting her lip while angrily glaring at it.
Mia walked further into the living room, sitting down on the couch, deciding against any rash decisions.
“Well, he’s here. I see his car keys on the coffee table,” Mia says staring at the keys as she clears her throat.
“Dude. Don’t do anything. Please, I’m begging you. I’ll look crazy desperate.”
“I could go key his car,” she says lifting the keychain, playing with it in her hand.
“Mia,” you warn her.
“Alright, alright. The two of you should resolve this together, like adults. We’re not in high school anymore and this endless pining for each others’ attention needs to stop,” she sighs putting the keys back on the coffee table.
“Besides he probably just kissed Yeji because he thought that you replaced him with Johnny,” Mia states confidently.
“That sounds so juvenile,” you say kicking your sheets off of yourself and getting out of bed.
“What other reason could he have, y/n?” Mia sighs. “He’s like a little kid who’s never had a serious relationship. All he knows is meaningless sex. And given the fact that the only girl he actually liked in college basically blew him off for another rich and popular senior, probably just made him insecure.”
“The words Yeonjun and insecure don’t belong in one sentence,” you say rolling your eyes.
“It’s true though. He just wants to be loved, but he’s afraid of getting hurt. That why he doesn’t let anyone get close.”
“Maybe you’re right,” you give in.
“No, I AM right. You should’ve just watched him play beer pong and fed his ego a little. He’s a Virgo, he wants the satisfaction and the attention of the person he likes. Yet you went ahead and ditched him for a house tour with another hot guy,” she chuckled at her own observation.
Mia and her god damn astrology references. You hated how right she was.
You also hated how clearly she judged the situation because lord knows you couldn’t. Suddenly you had so much more to think about.
You rub your temples in an attempt to release the tension building up in your brain.
“Well, I hope so. Cause the other explanation would be that he’s just not that into me as I thought he was,” you groan.
Mia sighed throwing her head back on the couch but as she did so, she heard a bedroom door creak open. Mia’s ears perked up at the sound, snapping her head in the same direction as the noise.
It was Yeonjun’s room, but the person exiting the room was not Yeonjun.
Mia’s eyes widen as she sees Yeji close the door behind her.
“Mia?” you call out for her due to the long silence on the other end of the line. “Earth to Mia?”
Mia manically tried to lower the volume on her phone so your voice couldn’t be heard by Yeji, but Yeji jumped at the sound of a voice, looking straight into Mia’s widened eyes. They both looked at each other like deer’s caught in headlights.
Busted.
“Mia! What…are you doing here. You scared me,” Yeji’s voice was barely audible but you heard it. And you knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
Does this mean what you think it means? You immediately put your volume up. Basically gluing your phone to your ear to hear what was going on a little better.
“My boyfriend lives here,” Mia stoically replies, earning an understanding nod from Yeji.
She couldn’t believe this and neither did you.
“Ahh, right. Soobin.” Yeji says putting two and two together.
“You were in Yeonjun’s room?” Is all Mia could ask. And as if she could sense it, she quickly put her phone on the armrest of the couch, hoping you could hear their voices clearer, and you did.
“I-uh…well yeah, it kind of happened,” Yeji says awkwardly smiling at Mia.
“Yes. Hate it when that happens.” Mia’s sudden cold tone confused Yeji, but she didn’t think much of it as she collected her coat and bag from the dinner table.
“I was just about to head out…” she says walking towards the front door.
“Enjoy your walk of shame,” Mia says under her breath.
To your relief, Yeji didn’t hear the snarky comment your best friend made. You did not want more drama to erupt. None of this is Yeji’s fault, though it would be easy to blame her, you knew that would be even more childish than Yeonjun’s behaviour.
Yeji turned to look at Yeonjun’s bedroom door one more time before she opened the front door to their apartment. “Tell Yeonjun I had fun,” is all she says, and just like that she’s out the door.
As the door closed behind Yeji, Mia frantically reaches for her phone again.
“Bitch. Did you hear that!?” She exclaims trying to be as quiet as possible.
“Y-yeah.”
You’re frozen in place and literally couldn’t compute.
“Tell Yeonjun I had fun? What in the fuck. How about you tell him yourself, bum ass bitch,” Mia scoffs as she continues her rampage. “I take back everything I said about resolving things with Yeonjun as adults, not after this revelation. The fucking nerve this took from him. Why would he take her home? As if no one would find out-”
“I’m gonna hang up,” you say before Mia could go on any further.
You had to admit, this hurt. Seeing them kiss was also painful but you could come back from a kiss that happened out of childish jealousy. This, however, was a different pang to your heart.
“Y/n….” Mia’s tone softened as she heard the weak sound of your voice. She knew you were upset, and she hated that she couldn’t give you a hug right now.
You hang up. Deciding that a hot shower is the only thing that will make you feel better.
Mia silently made her way back to Soobin’s room. To her surprise he was already awake, scrolling through his Instagram feed.
“Good morning baby,” he hums with his low raspy morning voice, smiling at her as he sees her messy bed hair and grumpy hang-over face.
“Hi,” she sighs. “Thank you for taking care of me,” Mia says apologetically as she climbs on top of him, sitting down on his torso.
“You don’t have to thank me for things I’m supposed to do,” he says yawning.
“Oh, by the way…” Mia smirks seductively, inching closer to Soobin. “What?” Soobin looks at his girlfriend with expecting eyes, pouting his lips for a kiss but instead of a kiss, he gets surprised with a hard slap across his chest.
“AH, What the fuck was that for!?” Soobin whines, rubbing the affected area with his large hand.
“That’s for fighting with y/n and making her cry,” she says crossing her arms.
“So…you talked to her,” Soobin sighs. He untangled himself from Mia, getting up and stretching his body. “I should call her,” he says rubbing the back of his head.
“I already did and she told me everything. But here’s the thing. As I was on the phone with her in the living room, Yeji suddenly emerged out of Yeonjun’s room.” Mia explains in a hushed tone, afraid that the walls suddenly became thinner and Yeonjun could hear them speak.
Soobin’s mouth fell agape. “What!?” He exclaims in a whisper.
Mia just nodded at her boyfriends’ shocked expression. Soobin clenched his fist as his face contorts from shock to anger in a matter of milliseconds.
“I dare him to breathe near y/n again, I swear to god,” Soobin says through his teeth.
You had gotten out of your way too long shower, hair wet, dressed in nothing but your underwear and an oversized t-shirt which ended just below your butt.
You mindlessly do your whole skincare routine but you jump when your phone starts to buzz. You reach for it, eyes widening as you see who just texted you.
[Yeonjun 12:43 PM]: Hey.
[Yeonjun 12:43 PM]: Do you still have my jacket?
You stare at your phone, but it’s like your brain doesn’t want to comprehend that this is what he starts the conversation with. Maybe he needed an excuse to come and see you? Or maybe... you were just getting ahead of yourself and the dude just wanted his expensive Versace jacket back.
Which you understand.
[Y/N 12:45 PM]: Hi, yes I have it, sorry.
[Yeonjun 12:45 PM]: Can I come pick it up? You left without saying goodbye.
You scoff at his unbelievable reply and you hate acting impulsively, but you can’t seem to stop yourself from typing.
[Y/N 12:46 PM]: You seemed a little occupied, so :)
[Yeonjun 12:46 PM]: Huh?
[Y/N 12:46 PM]: I’ll be home for another hour if you want to pick it up before I leave, be my guest.
[Yeonjun 12:47 PM]: Ok…
[Yeonjun 12:47 PM]: Are you mad at me or something?
You roll your eyes at his observation. This motherfucker is either dense as fuck or he’s just pretending to be dumb. It’s like he couldn’t put two and two together.
You didn’t reply back to him and didn’t really expect him to show up either. Half an hour later you were seated on your couch, watching an anime while eating some instant noodles when you heard a knock on your door.
Shit. For real?
You get up in a hurry, quickly chewing down the noodles that were still in your mouth and retrieved Yeonjun’s jacket from your dresser.
You take a deep breath before you open the door, and there he is. Choi Yeonjun, as handsome as ever.
He looked like he never even partied the night before as if he got a full 8 hours worth of beauty sleep. He was dressed in an oversized black shirt with his Adidas joggers, accompanied by his usual chains, rings, and earrings that he never seemed to take off.
His eyes widened when he saw you, dressed in nothing but a large t-shirt while your hair was still damp from the shower you took. Right, you forgot to put pants on but you honestly didn’t mind taunting him a little.
“Here you go,” you say try not to stare at him for too long as you hand him his jacket.
Yeonjun retrieved it from you without a word, still looking at you with wide eyes. His feet were frozen to the hard wooden floor beneath him.
“Was that all?” you ask crossing your arms as you lean on your doorpost.
You tried your hardest to sound unbothered and it was working. You got Yeonjun flustered and confused. His least favourite emotions.
“I-eh…I guess?” Yeonjun says rubbing the back of his neck.
“Ok, have a great day,” you say closing the door, at least that was your plan but Yeonjun put his foot between the door; stopping it from closing on him. You’re shocked at his reflexes and so was he judging by the look on his face.
“Wait,” he says opening the door again. “That’s it?” He asked, looking at you with his confused puppy eyes.
You give him the same look of confusion. “What do you mean, you came to get your coat. Did you need anything else?”
“So you are angry at me?”
You can’t help but roll your eyes, breaking character and he notices.
“Why?” He asks biting the inside of his cheek.
It’s one of his habits. He does that when he’s trying to understand something, or when he’s nervous. You couldn’t tell which one it could be this time and honestly, you didn’t give a shit.
“Listen, if you truly can’t figure that out yourself then that says enough.”
And just like that, it’s like an epiphany happened inside of his brain. His calm and collected demeanor disappeared as he scratches the back of his head.
“You saw me with Yeji.”
You stay silent, ready to close the door again but he forces it open, walking inside of your apartment.
“I didn’t realise I invited you in?” you say looking at him in disbelief as you close the door behind you.
He nervously paced back and forth. “Is that why you left? Cause you saw me with her?”
You still don’t answer him, which annoyed him. “Talk to me,” he says putting his jacket down on your nearest piece of furniture while taking a step closer to you.
“You should’ve talked to me first, but you ran. Like a coward.”
Your voice was laced with venom as you took a step back, away from him.
He didn’t know why, but you calling him a coward hurt more than he would like to admit. He scoffed, taking another step towards you.
“Cut the bullshit y/n. You’re the one who played me. I thought we were getting along just fine but I turn around for two whole seconds and you leave with some other dude.”
“Johnny is nothing more than a friend.”
“Does he know that?”
“YES!” you yell at him. You’re frustrated at your sudden outburst but you couldn’t take it anymore.
Your anger startled Yeonjun and he took a step back giving you some space.
His eyes were still looking for more answers in yours. He opened his mouth to speak but you beat him to it.
“You don’t get to put this on me when you wouldn’t even listen to what I had to say. Instead, you run off and have sex with Yeji out of spite? Cause you were jealous of Johnny? Real mature, Choi.”
“Wait, how do you know th-”
“I want you to leave,” you interrupt him, opening the door for him once again.
“Y/n...”
“No,” you sigh closing your eyes. “Leave.”
Yeonjun sighs in defeat. Picking up his jacket once again, walking to your front door, stopping just inches away from you. “For what it’s worth…I’m sorry,” he said giving you one last look.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” you say, your tone bitchier than you expected.
He didn’t reply, and you didn’t dare to look him in his eyes either, knowing that those dark orbs would pull you back under his spell again.
You close the door behind him and lean your forehead against it, emotionally exhausted from the whole situation. But you had a feeling it was nowhere near over yet.
A few days went by like nothing had ever happened. You distracted yourself by organising your entire closet and cleaning out your cabinets.
You cleaned your whole apartment hoping it would clear out your mind as well but Yeonjun was still a prominent figure that captivated your thoughts. You swore you wouldn’t open his Instagram stories or Snapchat’s, but you used Mia’s account to do so anyway.
He was his usual self, he had fun and showed it off. You only see the good parts of Choi Yeonjun on social media, so you weren’t surprised. He wasn’t the type to post sad-girl quotes in his stories or subtweet to get attention, making it even harder to figure out what was really going on in his head. He just shows us what he wants us to see anyway.
You couldn’t believe the fact that you fell under his spell even though everyone around you seemed to warn you about him. You just had to get yourself hurt, once again.
You were more mad at yourself than you were mad at him, to be honest, but for some reason, his pleading tone accompanied with the desperate look in his eyes from that day kept swirling around in your thoughts.
For the next couple of days, you focused on yourself and your mental health.
You decided to be anti-social even though your friends invited you to go do stuff. You just wanted to binge on your favourite shows and unwind from the hectic deadline filled semester that you had.
Apart from Soobin and Hueningkai visiting you to check if you were still alive, you hadn’t seen anyone else yet since that night. However, tonight there was a campus festival/bonfire for the new freshman who were coming in after summer as an introduction and orientation day and you and Mia volunteered a few months back for extra credit.
Everyone and you mean EVERYONE at the school that had somewhat of a social status was going to be there since it’s the last official event before the summer break officially started. Meaning that you would certainly see Yeonjun again.
“I can’t believe you got me to do this,” Mia sighed as she clips her name tag on to her hoodie a little too crooked to your liking.
You chuckle and fix it for her. “Also, you ghosted on us after the party. Did something else happen?” You bite your lip and shake your head. “Nothing worth mentioning.”
You didn’t want to hide stuff from her, but if Mia knows, Soobin knows. And you weren’t ready for that. Especially when you were still organising your thoughts on the situation.
The rest of the day went by pretty fast. You ran around with your checklists and made sure everything was ready and set for the festival to start with some other student board members. Mia, on the other hand, was in charge of giving groups of students full tours of the campus, which meant that you were separated for most of the day.
When the clock strikes 8 PM, the festival starts, and more and more people start to come in aside from the future freshman that were already there.
You stand at the sideline, checking off the last task on your to-do list and sigh in relief.
Technically you are a supervisor for the night. So you couldn’t enjoy the party.
Also, some of your teachers were there as well. Which meant that you couldn’t misbehave even if you wanted to.
Your phone buzzes and you check your messages.
[Soobin 8.04 PM]: Hiiii, I’m here. Where are you?
[Y/N 8:04 PM]: Near the entrance, to the left. I’m wearing our obnoxious purple campus hoodie, shouldn’t be hard to find me.
[Soobin 8.04 PM]: I see youuuu, don’t move.
You chuckle and search for your friend. It didn’t take long before you spot him since he was built like a skyscraper. You watch him bulldoze his way through the crowd to greet you and laugh as he almost trips over his own legs as he approaches.
“Hey girl, heyyy,” Soobin says enveloping you in a hug. He was followed by Taehyun and Beomgyu. Who also hugged you and said their hello’s.
“Are you already drunk?” You ask Soobin as you make him look at you by tugging at his chin.
“We tried to stop him but it was of no use,” Beomgyu chuckled.
“Let him live a little,” Taehyun interferes. “Our captain has worked so hard all year.”
“Just…look after him since Mia and I won’t be able to. We have to work tonight,” you pout.
“That sucks. We missed you at game night yesterday and now you’re telling me that you don’t get to party with us at all tonight?” Taehyun pouts back at you. And you simply nod at him with a sad facial expression to match his.
You were wondering if Soobin told them about what happened that night at the party. Soobin is a horrible liar and you knew he wouldn’t lie as to why you didn’t make it to game night. But you didn’t want to ask.
“Where’s Hueningkai?” you ask looking around for him. “Or did you kill him at game night for cheating in that fruit card game you guys play?” You joke, earning chuckles from the boys.
“He’s with Yeonjun hyung and a few others from the team. They had dinner somewhere before they came here. We came straight from the dorm” Beomgyu explains, as he was texting someone on his phone.
They definitely knew something was up. Taehyun is smart and quick-witted, so you were sure he knew too. Especially since his eyes grew in size a little after he heard Yeonjun’s name.
Beomgyu however, was too busy with his phone to care. You decide to pry and look over his shoulder. “You’re talking to Ryujin again?” you say smirking as you read her name and Beomgyu immediately hides his phone from you. “Maybe,” he pretended to be annoyed but he couldn’t help but crack a smile at the sound of her name.
Soobin sighed, clearly unamused. “Where’s Mia?” He asked sitting down at the bleachers behind him.
“She should be on her way back from her last campus tour,” you say looking around you, hoping you would see her and that’s when you spot him.
Yeonjun.
He walked in with his confident stride, surrounded by other attractive guys from the team, including Hueningkai.
You could see the future freshman girls freak out a little as they entered. And you couldn’t help but roll your eyes.
He ate it up, lost in his own bubble. No one could touch him, that’s how unreachable he made himself seem.
But you knew better. Your mind flashing back to his desperate eyes, trying to find answers in yours when he stepped foot in your apartment, and his desperate eyes when you kicked him out.
You averted your gaze from them quickly, but not before Yeonjun’s eyes found yours.
Shit.
You sigh and pick up your schedule. “Guys, I’m sad to say this, but I have to leave. I have bar duty.”
Soobin’s ears perked up at the word ‘bar’ and he looked at you, his eyes disappearing into crescent moons as he gave you a coy smile. “Does that mean you’ll give us free drinks?”
“The opposite,” you say sticking out your tongue at him. He just glares at you in return and you laugh at his childlike antics.
“Gotta go, when I’m free, I’ll join you guys, and please keep an eye on him,” you tell Tae and Beomgyu as you run off.
“Will do sis,” Taehyun yells after you.
You arrive at the bar stand and see Mia already overwhelmed and panicked. Trying to keep up with the number of people in line. She spots you and sighs in relief.
“Thank god! Where were you? I can’t handle this alone,” she says throwing an apron your way. You swiftly caught it and tie it around your waist.
“Sorry, I ran into Soobin, Tae, and Gyu. Soobin is already drunk by the way,” you say as you start pouring drinks in cups, organising them so they could be handed out immediately.
Mia rolled her eyes. “Of course he is,” she chuckles shaking her head.
“Did you see Yeonjun yet?” Mia asks carefully as she leans against the bar, staring at you intently.
“Yes, he was with Hyuka and some other guys from the team.”
“He didn’t try to talk to you at all since the party?” Mia asks confused.
And just as you opened your mouth to answer her question, you were interrupted.
“I’ll take two beers, and your phone number.”
A familiar voice made your ears perk up, and you turn around. You spot the tall brunette and give him a wholehearted smile.
“Johnny!” You exclaim enthusiastically, giving him a clumsy hug over the counter.
“You and your endless flirting,” you joke as you hand over the beers to him.
He gave you a beaming smile, taking a sip of his drink as he hands you the money in return. “I mean, you pretty much left without saying goodbye. And since I didn’t have your number I couldn’t contact you,” he points his finger at you accusingly, and you giggle.
Mia was behind you, busting her ass trying to serve the alcohol deprived students but that didn’t stop her from keeping an eye on you and Johnny.
She noticed how your face lit up, and she also noticed how Johnny leaned closer to you over the counter. And then…her eyes landed on an equally tall figure, standing behind Johnny.
“Are you gonna take much longer bro? I’m trying to get drunk tonight.”
You freeze in place, feeling like you were caught doing something you weren’t supposed to do.
It was Yeonjun. He looked at you with his intense gaze. And all you could do was stare back at him in shock.
A different type of tension filled the air. Your eyes darting from one to the other in panic.
He glared at Johnny through half-lidded eyes, impatiently tapping his feet. “I’m in desperate need of some vodka,” Yeonjun states, giving Johnny a sarcastic smile, who by now had turned around to meet his eyes.
“So am I,” you say to yourself, preparing for the worst.

Chapter Five
Here it is! It sucks because I had no idea what to write, but since I made y’all wait so long, I’ll post Maeve’s chapter too. Oh and a big thank you to @natewynoou for getting me through my writer’s block. Enjoy!
“Hey Babe,” Jake says, leaning against my locker. “Hey,” I say back, smiling up at him. He’s wearing his football jacket today, and he looks lovely in it. His arm wraps around my waist as I slam my locker shut. “Ready for gym?” “Ugh, never.” Jake grins at me and pulls me close. I sink into him. This is my favorite part of the day. Being with Jake. I only see him during last block, and I always miss how he’s strong and kind and makes me feel seen for once. I let him lead me to the track, but before we can reach the door, a voice floats out from the overhead speakers. Would Cooper Clay, Nate Macauley, Adelaide Prentiss, and Bronwyn Rojas please report to the main office? Again, Cooper Clay, Nate Macauley, Adelaide Prentiss, and Bronwyn Rojas to the main office. Jake turns to look at me.
“What’s that about?”
I shrug. “I’ll see you later.” I stand on my toes and give him a quick kiss before turning in the opposite direction. I’m nearly at the office when someone falls in step with me. “What do you think this is about?” Nate asks me. I shrug again. “Hopefully nothing.” We reach for the door at the same time, and I step back. Nate pulls the door open for me with an exaggerated bow and I enter the room as I giggle. The giggle stops suddenly though, when I see perfect little Bronwyn Rojas frowning at me from her seat next to Cooper. I slink into the seat across from Cooper as Nate drops next to me. “‘Sup?” Nate asks, tipping back his chair. Bronwyn gives him an exasperated look. “You’re going to crack your head open Nate,” Bronwyn snaps. “Bold of you to assume that’s not my intent,” Nate fires back with a smirk. Bronwyn rolls her eyes. “What are we doing here?” Cooper asks suddenly. He looks a little restless. Bronwyn opens her mouth, but before she can answer, the door flies open, and about an eighth of the girl’s soccer team comes marching in behind their coach. I can see Vanessa smirking at all of us, and behind her is Maeve Rojas. Maeve catches sight of the four of us and tilts her head questioningly, but doesn’t say anything as the coach turns to her. “Rojas! Stay here and see if you can find Gupta. This is absurd.”
“Sure thing Coach.” The coach leaves with the rest of the girls, and Maeve rolls her eyes at the closed door. “Hi, Maeve,” Bronwyn says. “Hey,” Maeve responds. “What’s going on?” “Gupta didn’t provide the school van for our soccer game.” Maeve pauses. “Again.” Bronwyn smiles a little. She looks uncomfortable, almost as if she doesn’t know what to say to Maeve, which is weird considering they once practically shared a brain. Before she has to say anything though, the door opens again, nearly hitting Maeve in the face. She steps back as Luis Santos steps in. He looks around at the people in the room and pauses. “Um, hi?” “Hey,” Cooper says. “What’s happening here?” “Family reunion,” Maeve says sarcastically, and Luis smiles at her. Maeve glares back. I’ll never understand why Luis keeps treating Maeve nicely when it’s obvious his crush is one sided. Or at least, it’s obvious to everyone but him. As it always has been. “What?” He asks hesitantly. “Nothing. Obviously. We’re all waiting for Principal Gupta. She’s MIA.” “Just like our football van.” “You guys have a football game?” I ask. Luis nods. Huh. Jake didn’t tell me about that. Usually he tells me when he has a game so I can get a ride home from a friend. Maeve ignores me and tilts her head at Luis. “Our soccer van is missing too.” Luis nods slowly, stuffs his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants with a contemplative look and twists so he’s leaning against the wall next to Maeve. “You going to the captain’s charity event?” The captain’s charity event. The event of the year after prom. Basically, ten years ago some rich football captain created a fund for the school that benefited the sports teams, as long as a dinner and dance was held for all the captains. Being invited is the greatest honor this school has. I’ve been once, with Jake, in my freshman year as his date. Sophomore year, though, Luis got the title of football captain and he and Olivia took our place. Cooper goes too, with Keely, to represent the boy’s baseball team. And from what I gathered, Maeve and TJ went together last year. Not that they will this year.
“Yeah, but I don’t have a date this year,” says Maeve as she twists her braid over her shoulder and wraps the end around her finger. “Are you?” “Yeah, I’m dateless too though.” Maybe Luis was expecting something from Maeve. Maybe a simple “we should go together”. Judging from his face, he didn’t expect Maeve to shrug, toss her braid over her shoulder and say: “Well, that sucks.” Luis’s shoulders slump right as Principal Gupta walks into the office with a harried look. She pushes open the door, and right before it can hit Maeve, Luis tugs her towards him. She falls against him. I catch sight of Bronwyn and Cooper’s small smiles before Gupta starts talking. “Sorry I’m late. Mr. Santos, Ms. Rojas, what are you doing here?” Luis and Maeve explain their van problem, and Gupta follows them to sort it out. She returns nearly forty minutes later looking exasperated and muttering about sports teams. She looks at us, and drops into a chair at the head of the table. “I’m sorry to keep you all waiting, but we had some difficulties with our sports teams today.” As if she had to tell us that. I zone out as she talks to us about how she understands we’re shaken up about Simon’s death (I’ve heard this enough times before) until I hear Cooper’s saying “With all due respect ma’am,” (Why is he so polite anyway? He only lived in the south for two years) “It sounds like you’re accusing us.” My head snaps up. “What?” Everyone turns to look at me. Nate’s smirking at me. “I was just saying that the four of you are well known students, and all four of you have a history with Simon.” I flinch a little. “So you think we killed him?” I ask. “We are simply following threads Addy, no need to be defensive.” “With all due re-” Cooper stops at the smirk on Nate’s face and then continues. “We’re being accused of something ridiculous, I think we have the right to be defensive.” “There’s no probable cause for investigation, is there?” Bronwyn asks. “It was an accident, and in a court of law, following threads wouldn’t convince a jury.” I roll my eyes. She always sounds older than she is. And like she knows more than everyone. Gupta opens her mouth the answer, when the bell rings, singling the end of school. “Are we free to go?” Nate asks. “Yes, but-” We don’t let her finish her sentence, because we’re too busy standing up, swinging our bags over our shoulders, and marching out of the room.
Maybe I shouldn’t have agreed to go to Glenn’s diner with Bronwyn, Cooper, and Nate, but I’m filled with pent up anger at Gupta for suggesting something that might mess up our lives that I said yes. Now I’m sitting in a booth next to Cooper picking at my salad. “Want some fries?” Cooper asks me. I shake my head even though I do really want some. The faster I get out of here, the better. I’m not really listening to the conversation around me until I hear Nate saying my name. “What?” I ask. “Did Simon have anything against you?” I pause before I shake my head vehemently. I look at the unconvinced faces staring at me. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing against me.” Bronwyn raises an eyebrow. “What did you do?” “Nothing!” “You really want us to believe that?” Nate asks. “I mean, I might have… hooked up with TJ last summer,” I say, the last words a whisper. I jump when Bronwyn slams her glass down. “What the HELL, Addy? You hooked up my sister’s boyfriend?” “I,” I can’t say anything more as the shame I’d pushed down resurfaces. “Addy, seriously?” Cooper asks me. “I didn’t know,” I say, shrinking away from him. “That’s bullshit you saw them together at every party we went to.” “He told me he wasn’t dating anyone.” “But you had a boyfriend.” Bronwyn’s glaring at me now, her arms crossed. Cooper’s staring at me like he’s never seen me before. Nate’s smirking, like always, and I’m pretty sure that if he wasn’t in the booth, he’d be tilting his chair back. “I know, I just-” “Addy Maeve is miserable.” “I’m sorry. If I could take it back I would.” “But, you can’t, can you?” “No, I can’t.” “Addy, do you really think it’s fair to Jake and Maeve?” Cooper asks me. “No, but-” “Seriously, Addy, that it the bitchiest thing anyone could do.” I don’t even know what to say anymore. I’ve ignored my actions for months because I didn’t want to think about what I did and how it might hurt people. And I can’t relive it now, here with people I’ve hurt more than once. I shrink into myself as Nate starts talking. “Funny how you left us for a guy you cheated on, Ads.” That’s it. I can’t. I pull my bag out from under the table and stand through my tears. I push my way through the diner until I step outside and breath in the fresh air. I look down at my phone when it starts ringing. It’s Vanessa. “Hey,” I say, praying to the trees in front of me that Vanessa can’t hear the tears in my voice. “Oh my god. Have you heard the news?” “What news?” “The Tumblr post? Saying you guys killed Simon?”

Private Eyes
A/N: I just want to talk about it with people so I’m posting it. It’s based off the Hall and Oates song ‘Private Eyes’, more like it was on constant replay lol. SW pops up next week which means I’ll be MIA until I see it. I highkey feel like Rey and Kylo are going to switch sides and we dead don’t want her over here. In a perfect world, Kylo reaches his hand out for his mommy and she kills Snoke and joins him and Luke and whoever tf Rey is gotta fight this badass mother/son dark side time. Poe is sad and Finn is just like FUCK THIS!! And just goes somewhere nice.
masterlist
Summary: Greaser Kylo Ren fell in love with good girl Rey Kenobi over the summer. When they unexpectedly discover they’re now in the same high school, will they be able to rekindle their romance? OF COURSE, with a little help from their friends and some singing. But that was Junior year, can their love really stand the course of Senior year, college applications, and other teenage problems?
warning: People will be fighting, people feelings will be hurt, and it might be yours.
Leia invited Y/N and her father for a dinner on Friday, suggesting “They need more love in their life.” Kylo would’ve been ecstatic if it was any other day, but the friends haven’t talked to each other since Halloween. Tutoring sessions consisted of swapping essays for books; in English, they were granted individual work so they didn’t have to even sit next to each other. So when his mother told him about this idea, he was far from happy. Another thing was his birthday was coming up and both his parents would be leaving until December for congressional meetings. To say his birth month was turning up great, was far from it. Tonight was the night and it was very awkward. The two teens only muttered a few words to each other before they ate dinner seats apart. You came back from the bathroom to see all the adults in the living room. “Where is Benji?” You asked tentatively. “Oh darling, he’s in that old treehouse of his.” You nodded at Leia and went to join him. “Don’t stay out there too long.” Your father said.
A knock was heard at the door of the treehouse. “Come in.” Kylo huffed. “I saw the sign ‘No girls allowed’, and I just wanted to make sure I was allowed in.” You moved inside. “I’m pretty sure the only ones allowed are your mom and Rey.” You smiled, but Kylo just rolled his eyes. “Why are you here?” He asked straight out. “I-I, all the adults are talking and I thought,” You were about to finish but he rolled his eyes again. “What is wrong with you? You’ve been ignoring me all week and I-I didn’t do anything.” You furrowed your brows. “Surprising, she didn’t do anything.” He scoffed. “You’re my best friend, just tell me what I did!” You pleaded. “Nothing.” He kept his back turned from you. “That’s not a real answer and you know it. It’s been a week since you’ve talked to me, you don’t even come to tutoring sessions, just drop off your essays! I’ve been trying to get your attention and you don’t even give me a sideways glance. “IT’S YOU!” He pointed at you. “WHAT DON’T YOU DO?!” Your mouth fell open at his answer. “Everything you do is selfish and inconsiderate! You just do whatever you want and get whatever you want, but not from me. No more, I’m not doing it!” He yelled. “What are you talking about?!” You asked, clearly confused. “Are you serious?! You’re so clueless Y/N.” You were starting to get heated with whatever he was accusing you of. “I don’t know why you’re so frosted, but I’d rather you just say it than beat around the bush!” You yelled back. The intensity in his eyes showed you that this was only going to get worse.
Yelling began to fill the small treehouse as each teen refused to back down. “And I’m not stupid to the fact that you’ve been wearing dresses to get my attention! Trying to get my attention, while you’re all in your boyfriend’s face!” Kylo spat. You let out a deep breath. “Are you just mad because I’m going out with Juney?” You asked. “No, and how can you even call him that when the other day you didn’t even want to kiss him!” He said. “Because he is my boyfriend! And I did want to kiss him and I did!” You yelled. “But you kissed me! Twice! You kissed me, did that mean nothing?!” “It didn’t mean anything, you have a girlfriend. And I’ve kissed you plenty of times when we were younger. What’s the big deal?” Kylo squinted his eyes at the explanation. “No.” He shook his head in disbelief. He couldn’t believe that you could kiss him and not mean anything. “You’re lying! You can’t tell me that meant nothing! You kissed me not once, but twice! Admit it, you don’t even want to be with Juney.” Kylo crossed his arms. “How dare you?!” You yelled. “I like Juney, he’s wonderful! He’s smart and he’s funny and he has such a great heart and under all that leather he’s just a genuinely sweet guy and he really cares about his brothers. Even though it’s been a few months I care about Juney and I won’t have you talking about him like that.” You yelled back. “And why are you with Rey? You both look so miserable around each other!” Kylo stayed silent finding no words coming to him. “Look, you can’t even tell me why. You guys are only together to make you and others miserable.” You gruffed.
“You know what it is,” He slowly moved forward. “You’re a floozy.” You gasped pressing your back against the wall. “What did you call me?” Your voice was low and calm. “You heard me a floozy, a tramp, a whore! Kissing and flirting with every and anybody that treats you how you want to be, like a fucking Hollywood starlet or some shit!” Kylo continued as he watched your chest heave. “Don’t look at me like that.” He told you. “Don’t look at me like you hate me.” There was a stinging in your eyes as you tried to refrain from crying. “Don’t look at you like I hate you? I do hate you!” You screamed at him. “Ever since I started Hoth, you’ve flip-flopped on how you treated me and I’m tired of it! I don’t want to be your friend anymore Benji. I’m done.” Your hand reached for the latch on the door, and Kylo’s hand flew to keep you from opening it. “Please...don’t leave.” He gulped, now fully aware of the position he was in. “No,” you sniffled. “I refused to be treated like this. Especially by you.” Kylo looked into your (y/e/c) and saw all the pain. “Y/N, please.” He begged as he felt his heart race. “MOONBEAM!” The call from your father caused you to move quickly out of the treehouse. Kylo stood in the window and watch you leave.
It was Monday and some of the Knights and Pink Ladies would meet up for breakfast at Hoth’s cafeteria. Juney was telling you a story of how his brothers decided to camp in the backyard and got scared by a raccoon. You were silently picking up the various options for you. “So, how was dinner at Kylo’s?” Juney asked you. “It was fine.” You answered. He looked at you before asking his next question. “Did you speak to Kylo?” He knew that the two of you had been going through something for about a week now. The memory of the argument crossed your mind and your lips began to tremble. Juney heard a clatter of silverware before turning to see you trembling with watery eyes. “Y/N are you alright?” He put his hand on your back. Putzie and Sonny made started to make their way over. “Guys, take our stuff to the table. We’ll be right back.” Juney told them before guiding you out of the room.
You didn’t know where you were going, nor could you see with all the tears clouding your vision. Juney let go of your hand before entering some room. You could hear him yelling at people to get out and seeing a rush of sneakers scurrying off. Gently, he took your hand and led you in slowly. “Hey, what’s wrong?” He cradled your wet face in his hand. You just put your head on his chest and broke down. His arms engulfed you, pulling you closer to him. “Please tell me what’s wrong.” He spoke into your soft curls. “I’m sorry.” You cried. “Please tell me,” Juney said as he started getting worried. “I’m crying because some boy yelled at me and you’re trying to help me but you’re going to hate me and break up with me.” You said pulling back. “Hey, I’m not going to hate you and I’m definitely not going to break up with.” He pulled you into his chest again. “You’re way too special to let get, Mama.” He smiled down at you. You looked up at shook your head backing away from him. “No, because I ruin everything. I ruin everything.” You began to repeat more to yourself. Juney noticed how you seemed to be elsewhere as your hands pulled at your hair. “Stop that!” He pulled your hands to your side. “Don’t hurt yourself, you didn’t do anything. Please tell me.” His amber eyes were growing worried from the heart-wrenching sight of the most confident girl he knew.
“Kylo-Benji, we got into it and he wouldn’t stop screaming at me. He said all these horrible things. He-he told me I was selfish and dumb, and he called me names.” More tears started to spill staining your face with the light mascara you were wearing. “And he started talking about you and I don’t care if he’s my best friend, you’ve been nothing but nice and I won’t have you talked about like that, you did nothing wrong!” You broke down once more. “Hey...I got you, Mama.” Juney cooed. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but most importantly he couldn’t believe that you would stand up for him. Especially against Kylo, your best friend. But, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t mad. No one talks to you like that. Even through your hitching breath, you could feel the anger build up inside as you held onto him so tightly. “Don’t fight, please.” You mumbled against his now stained white shirt. He pulled your face up to look at him; even with watery, red eyes and small black streaks down her face, he thought she looked so precious. “I...promise.” He sighed resting his forehead on yours.
The room was silent, it was then you realized you were in the boy's bathroom. “You-you brought me to the boy's bathroom?” You hiccuped. “Yeah, I’m sorry. It was the closest.” He shrugged. “It’s ok.” You sent him a small smile. You sniffled and he squeezed the tip of your nose. “Now let’s get you cleaned up, Mama.” Juney began wetting a paper towel and started to wipe away the tear streaks. “Juney, I got mascara on your t-shirt. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin it.” You looked down. “Hey!” His forefinger and thumb caught your chin. “You didn’t ruin anything. You hear me?” He asked and you nodded. When he was finished he gave you his jacket and began to remove his shirt. “Oh!” You widen your eyes and turned to only see his reflection in the mirror. “Ok,” you said spinning around once again. Juney chuckled at his girlfriend’s awkward moves. “You can stop spinning, Ms. Spinning top, I’m finished.” You stopped at the sound of his voice. “Now, let’s go, Mama.” He smiled wrapping his hand around yours.
Juney hung out with you all day today and neither of you minded. He even enjoyed hanging with a few of the Pink Ladies, especially when they cooed at how cute the couple was. He was still kind of heated about what Kylo did and he just wanted to make sure you were ok, well more like he didn’t talk to you. Towards the end of the day, Finn joined you two. It was quite nice to see Juney interact with people other than the Pink Ladies and the Knights. Finn was a new personality that seemed to let Juney open up and forget about his bad boy persona. It was refreshing to see that someone else didn’t just him as the kid who went to juvie. Finn and Juney walked you to class before heading to their P.E class. Walking towards the yard, they saw the Knights, some of the Pink Ladies, and the Golden Apples clumped up. They made their way towards the crowd to see Kylo with his arm draped around Rey. It took everything in him to not to deck him right in his face. “Here you go, Finn!” Rey passed the golden envelope to him. “Thanks, w-what’s this?” Finn asked. “Ben is turning 18 next week and I won’t be here, so I’m throwing him a party!” She turned to smile up at him. “All of his closest friends are invited, even you!” She said passing it to the kid beside Juney. Juney’s eyes followed Rey’s hand. “So I guess you’d have to know the kid for at least a year.” He commented. He knew he wasn’t getting an invite, regardless if he’d knew the kid for almost six years. He just stared down Rey with his sharp amber eyes, making her squirm uncomfortably. Kylo pulled her in closer and sent a look to Juney. “Well, I know I’m not invited, but I’ll give Y/N hers.” Silence set in as Rey and Juney stared each other down. “Can I speak to you for a second, Ben?” He emphasized his real name.
Kylo pushed himself off and followed Juney. When they were far enough, Juney began talking. “Look, I don’t know what’s going on between you and Y/N, but whatever it is, it needs to be fixed,” Juney said. Kylo rolled his eyes. “Shouldn’t you be concerned for your girlfriend’s well-being and not me?” He snarled. “When you’re done being a dick, you’re realizing that I’m talking to you about your best friend, who is dying on the inside because of you.” He spat. “She may look happy, but there’s one less glimmer in her eye and if it’s gone because of you, I’ll do whatever to bring it back.” Kylo looked over to his side. “Well, according to her, I’m not her friend and she chose to be with you over me.” Juney scoffed at Kylo’s reply. “This has nothing to do with me! It’s between you and Y/N, and you need to learn that. Y/N is an amazing friend and you know it!” He pointed. “I just met her and I’m not dumb enough to let her slip away. You had her for years and you just take advantage of a great thing; if I had her as a friend growing up, I wouldn’t be in the trouble I was in and I wouldn’t let her go.” Kylo snorted. Juney just shook his head at the stubborn man. “Well, when you’re ready to get your head out of your ass, go talk to her.” He demanded. “And don’t let me or her interfere with that.” Juney pointed to Rey.
Kylo sat in the living room watching Rey’s friends mingle about. This party for him seemed to be everything he didn’t care for, but he didn’t have the heart to tell her he wanted to go. He got up and made his way outside. He heard slight whispers and followed, to his surprise it was Kenickie and Putzie, the only Knights and his friends, that Rey invited. “What are you two doing?” His voice made the boys jump. “Shit, Ky! What are you, my mother?” Kenickie said. “What are you doing? The party is inside.” Kylo pointed to the house. “Yeah, but it sucks,” Putzie said. “But, no offense to Rey.” He said quickly. Kylo glanced down at Kenickie’s hand to see a joint. “Oh, let me hit!” Kylo reached for it only to hear Rey calling his name. He turned to see Rey and Poe making their way towards him. “Who were you talking to Ben?” Rey asked. “Oh, just-” He turned to his friends to see they were gone. “Ben, we ran out of something and I know it’s your party but do you mind driving Poe to the store?” Rey asked sweetly smiling. “Oh, uh no. I don’t.” Kylo replied and she jumped to kiss his cheek.
Poe and Kylo hopped in the ‘Silencer’ and made their way into town. “So how’s everything?” Poe asked. “Um, good. You?” Kylo asked. “Just fine.” Poe smiled. “How’s Y/N?” Kylo looked over at Poe and then back to the road. “Wh-why are you asking me?” He asked. Poe just shrugged. “Well, you’re her friend right?” Kylo kept his focus on the road. “She’s very beautiful. Smart. Feisty.” Poe bit his bottom lip. “You should set us up!” Poe said a little too cheery. Kylo winced. “Um...she’s with Juney, if you didn’t hear,” Kylo replied. “I know,” Poe said unphased. “But, I know you have a heavy influence on her. Aren’t you the one who told her not to join the Apples?” Kylo looked him over once more. “Yeah, but that was different. She really likes him.” Poe shrugged. “Really? Was that before or after she kissed you?” Kylo swerved at the fact that Poe knew. “Not once but twice and in a room full of people, she didn’t even care! I like that in a girl. Anytime, anyplace.” Poe smirked. Kylo felt as if the wind was knocked out of him. “S-she’s not l-like th-” Kylo went to object before Poe spoke again. “Not like that? Well, I thought so until I saw her and Juney coming out of the boy's bathroom.” Kylo couldn’t believe what he was hearing; Poe continued. “Her hair was a mess and his shirt was backward. But, I’m not surprised, it was only a matter of time before her reputation from DCP followed her.”
Kylo turned to Poe. “What are you talking about?” Poe furrowed her brows. “You don’t know? She was the DCP whore, she slept around with teachers. Her and her mother, I heard. Got one of them fired; heard that’s why she had to leave. Well, that was before that Amazonian friend of hers surpassed her.” Kylo’s knuckles turned white as he gripped the wheel tightly. Even though he was mad at her, he didn’t want anyone talking about her. “It would be ashamed if everyone found out about your friend and if Rey found out about the kisses, she’d be heartbroken.” Kylo gulped. “Are you blackmailing me?” Poe shrugged. “Call it what you want, but I want her.” Kylo cut the brakes making Poe jerk forward. “Go get whatever the fuck Rey wants and you’re walking back.” Kylo kicked him out the car and drove off.
Kylo kept driving. Driving to nowhere; something caught his eye walking on the sidewalk. He slowed down and drove along. “Hey!” He called out softly. Y/N turned to face him, ponytail swinging. You stopped in your tracks, “Hi,” You nodded and returned to walking. “W-where are you going? Where’s your car?” Kylo asked. “It’s a pretty day and I thought I’d walk to the drive-in.” You gave him a small smile, before continuing your walk. Kylo continued to follow you. “Um, can I-I join you? If you don’t mind, of course.” He asked scared of your answer. “Okay.” You shrugged and made your way to the car. The ride to the drive-in was silent and so was waiting for the movie to start. “Do you want any candy?” You asked getting out of the car. “No.” Kylo shook his head. You nodded and went off. For some strange reason, Kylo felt nervous; his hands were sweaty and heart beating really fast. Kylo snapped out of his thoughts when a packet of M&M’s fell on his lap. “O-oh, thank you.” He smiled at you. It was weird not seeing your smile or any type of emotion. Kylo stirred as the sounds of Les Enfants du Paradis filled the car; he had grown tired of reading the subtitles and quite bored actually. “H-how’s Juney?” Kylo asked. “He’s fine.” You said not tearing your eyes from the screen. “I-I talked to him.” He said and you just hummed. “I-I’m sorry.” This is when you finally looked at him.
“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry how I’ve treated you. I’ve been so shitty and I don’t mean to be. I don’t not want to be your best friend and I don’t not want to be your friend.” He grabbed your hand, but you just sat there staring at him. “It’s not okay.” You said silently. Kylo felt his eyes began to sting. “You’ve treated me so bad. You’ve treated me s someone you literally just met. You don’t even treat me as if I’ve been your best friend all your life. I’m already hurting, I don’t need any more hurt.” There was a fire in your eyes that he never saw before. “Y/N, I’m sorry!” Kylo pleaded. You began to move out of the car when he grabbed your hand. “You need to stop touching me like this.” You pulled back, slamming the door. “You’re right!” He jumped out the car. “You deserve to be treated like a princess and-” You spun around. “No, I want to be treated like a person, a regular human because I am! People always want to treat me different because of who my parents are and what I have and how I look!” Before you could continue, there was a security guard asking you two to either go to your car or leave. Before you could go, Kylo grabbed your hand and was dragging you back; shoving you inside. His insides felt as if he was on fire. He couldn’t lose you, he refused to lose you! His large hands cradled her face. “I’m so fucking scared of losing you, it scares the shit out of me. I don’t want you to ever leave; I can’t imagine what it would be like if you were never in my life. You’re more than just my best friend, you mean so much more. You-you’re like another half of my life, every memory begins and ends with you. Good or bad! And I don’t want this to be that last. You mean so much to me, that I don’t even understand.” He sighed. He released your face from his grasp.
“Remember when we were four and for Halloween, we were the three little bears?” Kylo smiled at the distant memory, of you and him in little bear costumes and you trotting with your teddy bear; you were the mama bear and he was the papa bear. “And you kept teasing me because I brought my bear and I got mad and I told you I didn’t want to be your friend.” She continued. “You kept saying sorry and trying to hold my hand.” Kylo chuckled. “Yeah, so you started beating me with the bear.” He watches a small smile twitch on her lips. “This is just like that moment, except I’m not going to hit you because I need something way heavier than a bear for your big ass.” You told him. Kylo threw his head back in laughter as his hands clutched to his sides. You couldn’t help but watch his eyes squeeze shut and the wide smile that played on his face and those frown lines make way for the laugh lines. “D-didn’t you name the bear like Barbara?” “Bear-a, like Sara. I was 4, leave me alone!” You lightly shoved him. He playfully fell back and your eyes caught the Navy sweater under his black leather jacket. “I like this on you. You would look nice in light gray or camel, it wouldn’t make you look so pale.” Your fingers gently pulled at the collar of his sweater. “Thanks...uh Rey got it for me.” Kylo felt your fingers twitch against his chest as you retreated them.
“You look very nice.” You sent him a soft smile. “Thanks, Rey got it for me to wear to the birthday party she threw me.” He explained. A flash of hurt fell across Y/N’s face. “But-but your birthday isn’t until next week?” You furrowed your brows. The ends of his pink lips twitched up at the fact that she remembered. “Yeah, she wanted to throw me a party with all my friends before she left for England.” He explained. “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it,” You lied and he felt his heartbreak since he knew you weren’t invited. “But, I’ll get you something.” Kylo shook his head. “You don’t have to get me anything, just being my friend is enough.” You snorted. “Don’t get all sappy on me, Benjamin Solo. I know you’re still that six-year-old boy that got mad when I had a surprise party in school and I had to share it with you.” He rolled his eyes. He threw an M&M at her nose and she squealed. “Come here and let’s watch the movie.” He pulled you into his arms and you laid your head on his chest. The remainder of the movie he just watched as you drifted off to sleep and he tried so hard to stop his heart from beating so fast. After dropping you off, he never returned to Rey’s and he knew something had changed in him. He meant everything he told you and more.
Kylo and the Knights strolled the empty hallway as school was coming to the end. In the distance, the sound of sneakers squeaking against the floors grew louder and louder. Finn appeared with a very disheveled. “You guys have to come quick!” He said trying to catch his breath. Before anyone could crack a joke, he spoke again. “JUNEY’S GOING TO KILL POE!” All the boys ran following Finn as he opened the boy's locker room to reveal a handful of boys surrounded Juney who had Poe pressed against the wall. His forearm was firmly held against Poe’s neck. “Juney, what are you doing man?” Kenickie stepped forward. “He talked about Y/N! NO ONE TALKS ABOUT HER LIKE THAT!” He yelled. “I-I” Poe looked at Kylo. “It’s true! It’s true. She’s a whor-” Before he could get anything out, he pressed harder on his windpipe. “She kissed Kylo!” All the boys turned to look at the blushing boy. “And you think she told me that?! It meant nothing, they’re just friends.” Juney said through gritted teeth. A sharp pain hit Kylo’s heart at Juney’s word. “You don’t anything about her, you don’t get to say these things. And I know you wanted to fuck her and there’s no way in hell I’m letting even look at her!” Poe strained for air as his eyes became hazy. The Knights tried to reason with Juney to let him go. After much time he did.
Finn went to ask Poe if he was ok before he saw him pull out a knife on Juney. Poe lunged and sliced Juney down the arm. Juney turned with full rage and wrestled him down, it took all the Knights and some others to pull him off of Poe. “YOU’RE FUCKING DEAD!” Juney yelled as he was held back. “I’m going to fucking kill him! Pulling a knife on me!” He yelled at no on in particular. “Juney, you need to relax.” Kenickie tried. He punched the locker. H was venting to his friends before he heard your soft voice. “Juney, do you still want to go to the diner?” He turned around in horror. “What happened to your arm?” You gasped. “And your hand?” You held them so softly. He felt as if he was going to cry in your touch; he didn’t want you to see him like this. Your wide eyes looked at the boys behind him and they all put their hands up in surrender. “We can still go, I just got to-” “No!”Y/N interrupted. “You have to go to the nurse, you’re bleeding.” He chuckled at you beginning to panic. “Don’t laugh, it’s serious! Come on we have to get you to the nurse.” Juney smiled. “Alright, Mama.” Kylo felt the breath escape him when he heard the pet name leave Juney’s lips. His brows furrowed as he thought back to when they were the bears for Halloween; she was his family, his mama bear

Is it the sun or you?(Jungkook)
BTS Au
One shot
A/N: I have been working on this scenario for so long.I am happy to be able to post it finally. It’s long, but I had fun writing it. I hope you like it and sorry for any mistakes made.
Word count: 4,758
Warnings: Flirting.
Stepping out of the car, your skin was enveloped in the warm rays of the summer sun.It had been awhile since you truly felt this alive. You came to the beach today with your friends, planning to have lots of fun and just enjoy the hot season as much as you could. Your group wasn’t too big, but not small as well- 3 girls and 2 boys.Sarah and Mia were your BFF’s, Mark and Jay you met in the beginning of high school, but got really close fast. They are cool guys to hangout with, very funny too.
Sarah called Mark to help her with the bags ,while Jay was parking the car somewhere. You decided to help them as well by grabbing your own stuff.
“Mia which was your bag?” asked Sarah
“The pink one with the flowers.”she walked over and picked it up
The four of you started walking towards the beach to find a good place to set up everything and begin the beach extravaganza.
“Look.”Sarah pointed at a nice spot, that wasn’t too close to the water and not too far away as well.
“Ok. You girls get the towels out and I will place the beach umbrellas.”Mark picked them up and proceeded with doing what he told you
Everyone had a job to do and so you were done in no time, the cooler was filled with drinks, the towels were set and there was just enough shade to get tanned, but not burned. You were already lying on the beach when Jay finally found you, guess it took him longer than expected to find a good place for the car.
“Did you find a spot?” asked Mark
“Would I be here if I didn’t?”he lifted up a brow
“Are you trying to start a fight?”
“Chill man.” Jay laughed out and jumped onto his towel, relaxing his muscles after the long drive
Sarah pulled her sunscreen out of the bag and pocked your side. Your body jumped up a bit and turned to look at her a bit irritated.
“Hey!What was that for?”you asked her
“You look like a fish on a grill. If I don’t turn you over ,you might burn.” she stood up, giggling a bit “Come one.You need sunscreen or else.” she sprayed some on your back and massaged it in.After that Sarah let you lay back on the towel and continue ‘grilling’ as she liked to joke.
“Are you going to stay here all day?Come on it’s summer, look at the beach.”
Mark picked up Sarah and Mia and ran towards the water. He was really strong and was able to carry both of them at once, but with the girls gone it was only you and Jay.
He had short black hair with shaved sides and brown eyes. Most girls found him very attractive, but he wasn’t your cup of tea. What you didn’t know was that he actually had the hots for you.
He sat on Sarah’s towel and tried to talk with you.Normal friendly conversation, nothing too obvious.
“So, today is a nice day.”
You stood up, sat on your towel and looked at him.You could hear his better that way.
“Yeah.” you made sure to be under the umbrella’s shade “Hey can you pass me my bag please?”
Jay gave you what you asked for with a smile “Here.”
“Thanks.”pulling out a pair of sunglasses ,you placed them on your head, combing your hair with your hand lightly back “Hey Jay.” you looked at him
“What is it?”
“What kind of girls do you like?” you asked him directly
“What kind of question is that?!”you caught him off guard ,but it made him happy that you were even a little bit interested “Do you finally admit that you like me?”he asked ,grinning at you
“You wish.”you laughed out and hit his back playfully, but he actually did “A friend of mine asked if I could ask you.”
“I see.”
“Don’t worry I won’t creep you out.”you pushed his shoulder a bit
“What kind of guys do you like?”he hit you back with the same question
“I don’t have a type.”you deflected his attempt almost immediately. This subject wasn’t very interesting, so you changed it to something else.
As you were talking, a ball rolled in front of you on the beach, right next to your leg.You looked around to see where it came from, or who the owner might be. But what you saw wasn’t what you expected.
Your head turned towards the figure walking towards you, the strong and well build male with dark hair and eyes filled your senses. He was confidant and serious, but his eyes were childish and playful.
He leaned forward and picked the ball up, slightly touching your leg with his hand. Was it on purpose? You didn’t know. Your eyes found each other very fast, while he was standing back up with the ball in hand, you never moved your gaze.
He turned around and started walking away, when a sudden gust of wind blew and your hat flew in his direction. You quickly stood up to try and grab it, but the mysterious boy, without looking back ,caught it.You slowly walked over to him and he turned to give it back to you.
“It’s a bit windy today.”he looked down at you and smiled
His voice was smooth and the words were dropping out of his mouth like honey. He placed the hat onto your head, flashing you another smile and running back to his friends.
Jay was looking at the boy ,but then averted his gaze back to you. He continued talking about something, but you weren’t listening. Through the sunglasses you were looking at the boys ,who were playing volleyball a bit to the side and closer to the beach, from your spot. The attractive male, that caught your eye, was part of the team that was facing your direction.
Thanks to the glasses he didn’t notice, but as you were looking your hand traveled to the spot on your leg he touched.
“Y/N?” your head snapped towards Jay after hearing your name “Is something wrong? You look out of it.”
“I am ok.”you averted your gaze from the boys playing and looked at the sand.
The mysterious boy certainly caught your attention ,there was no doubt about that. Right at this moment, feet in sand, body shiny from the sunscreen, hair wild from the wind, you were thinking how to pull his eyes and attention towards you.
You noticed Sarah calling for you from the water. Looking to the boys you saw that they weren’t playing anymore and were just chilling on their towels, some playing cards. It was the perfect timing.
Standing up you took off your glasses and hat ,giving them to Jay.You ran your hands trough your hair ,messing it up a bit and started walking towards the water, a mixture of elegance and sexiness was radiating from you.
You made sure to look especially good, but because of that you couldn’t look to see if his eyes were on you, or he could figure it out.
“Come on the water is supper!”yelled out Mia, with both her hands waving at you
You stopped your slow motion and ran towards everyone, splashing water on Mark.
You lost track of time and forgot why you were actually in the water. It was so fun just splashing one another. After sometime Jay decided to join in the fun and then the whole squad was in the game.
“Mark!” Sarah yelled out “Did you bring the snorkels?”
“Jay has them, in my bag are the goggles.”Mark waved at Jay and he went to get the stuff
It seemed that the four of them were planing to go exploring. With everything in place ,Mia looked at you.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?”
“I like it here better. You guys have fun.”you smiled and they left
At first you felt a bit lonely ,but after you relaxed your body in the water it felt like the ocean was protecting you. It was really nice.
Your eyes were closed ,but you felt something fall on to your body. Slowly opening your eyes you saw the same blue color.Picking it up you looked towards the person casting a shadow on you.
“It seems the ball likes you.” it was him again,
“Or maybe the owner.”you passed him the ball, not noticing that you were holding the string of your bathing suit as well.Once he pulled the object, your top came undone and plopped on the surface of the water.
You screamed out and covered your chest with your hands as much as you could. The wind blew and your top started drifting farther away. There were so many people on the beach, you couldn’t possibly go out like this and plus that your friends weren’t here.
You dove in the water, with only your face above to breath. Your eyes were closed and you were blushing. You couldn’t see anything, just the sound of someone getting out of the water.
It was not like you were expecting help or anything, you don’t even know each other. At this point you were thinking what to do. You could wait for everyone to come back, but who knows how long that will be, or plan B, which you didn’t even know about, so...we have only plan A.
You felt something fall on your back. When you opened your eyes, in shock, you saw him again. But why?You thought he went back and wasn’t coming.
“Here put this on.”
He gave you some kind of shirt. You were hesitant at first, but it was better than nothing. Trying to stand up, you noticed that the cloth was getting wet.
“Thank you very much, but won’t your shirt get wet?”you asked him trembling a bit from the adrenaline you had in your system from awhile ago.
“Don’t worry about it.” He noticed your body not being able to hold itself in place and walked closer
You didn’t know what was going to happen, but you weren’t planning to pull away. He leaned and with his strong arms picked you up, pulling you out of the water and placing you on his towel on the beach.
He left you there and ran back in the ocean, in search of your bikini top.
“There it is!”you pointed
He quickly grabbed it , waving it in the air to show you he found it. A little boy and his mother saw him and the child asked his mom.
“Mommy, why is that hyung waving a bathing suit?” he pointed with his little hand
“Don’t look at the strange hyung.”she picked up her son and walked away
This made you start laughing, who wouldn’t. Your bikini was bunched up in his hand, so no one else could see it and he ran towards you.
“Here.”he placed it next to you ,to let it dry a bit
“Thank you very much, for everything…um.”you stopped
“Jungkook. My name is Jung Jungkook.”he smiled and sat next to you
“Nice to meet you Jungkook I am Y/N.”you looked down at the sand from embarrassment
“Fate made it so that we had to meet in such strange conditions.” he laughed out
“Maybe you are right.”you leaned back onto your hands “You were indeed looking at me a lot.”you tried to play with him a bit
“I was.”
“Wow, you are really honest.” you were a bit amazed, your words were just a teasing comment
“And you?”he looked at you
“What about me?”
“Did you really think that those glasses could hide those beautiful eyes of yours?”he smiled, moving a strand of hair from your face
“S-so what if I was?”you stuttered after being exposed
“You could have just looked at me normally you know. I don’t mind having your eyes on me all day.”Jungkook grinned, leaning towards you
“Are you flirting?”you asked him
“I am, but it doesn’t seem like you hate it.”he came closer locking your lips in a kiss, pulling back slowly he looked at you “You can slap me if you want I don’t mi-“
Before he could continue you grabbed his head and pulled him in another kiss, losing balance you fell back on the towel and he was hovering over you, with both your lips still connected
After some time you had to pull back and take a breath. You were looking at each other’s eyes.
“You know, you should put your top back on, it looks kind of strange to other people.”he commented
“I should...”there was a moment of silence, before Jungkook moved
“It’s hot, you might get a heat stroke like that.”
“Yeah, you right.”you sat up and placed it on your body. The sun was shining bright “Wait here.” you ran to your towel and brought back sunscreen. “Can you put some on me, I burn easily.”
He smirked after hearing your words and you realized what you said “No, no I actually meant that.”Jungkook grabbed your hand and pulled you in his lap, your hands were around his neck and your bodies flush against each other.
His hand ran down your back, applying the product gently. After he was done with the back he ran his hand down your hips and legs.
“Do you want sunscreen on your chest?” he said playfully
“I think I exposed it enough for today.”you giggled
“How about those lips?Do you want something on them?”
“Maybe I do.”
Jungkook leaned for another kiss that lasted shorter than you would have liked it to be. He pulled back slowly and smiled “My lip balm has an SPF factor.” you were enjoying this moment the most out of both of you.”I don’t have sunscreen on.” your eyes widened as you realized what he offered “Mined helping me out?” with a trembling hand you placed some on your palm and slowly moved towards his body. Jungkook noticed how shy you got and that made him chuckle to himself. His hand gently grabbed yours and pulled them onto his stomach.
“Eek!”you gasped and closed your eyes, as your face got red
“Come on.”he encouraged you to continue what he started. You took a deep breath and started moving your hands up and down his body. Soon your skin was the only thing touching his.
“Oh, would you look at that. The sunscreen is gone.” you blushed again and he lost it “Uh. I can’t keep myself away from you if you keep acting this shy. He placed you onto the towel and hovered over you once more. Mothers were covering their kid’s eyes, but Jungkook didn’t care much.
“There are people watching!”
“Let them watch.”
“There are children too.”you panicked a bit
“How else are they going to learn?”there was nothing you could say that was able to change his mind. Not like you wanted to. His eyes were hungry and the way he was looking at you was making every inch of your body want him.
“W-what are you doing?”you asked innocently
“You know very well what I am doing....but”he started pulling back “...if you want me to stop, I will-”your hands wrapped around his neck and pulled him onto your body
“No...don’t.”your heavy breaths were driving him crazy, until he couldn’t hold back and crashed his lips onto yours. You were fighting for dominance, but he easily won over you. You don’t know how long this make out session lasted, but you didn’t care.Every single one of his movements was making your heart beat faster and faster. You never felt like this before, there hasn’t been a guy that could make you want to jump him so much.
Pulling back ,you closed your eyes as the heat started getting to you.Your face was red, but not from embarrassment. Jungkook noticed that and picked you up gently, placing you in his lap. Both your legs were over his right thigh and your cheek leaned onto his chest. Your eyes opened wide suddenly, when you felt a cold feeling hit your skin.
“Ha!”you might have jumped a bit as well
“Here.”he passed you a can of a cold drink. You tried opening it, but your hands were trembling too much, so he reached out and popped the top “There we go.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem.”you took a sip and immediately felt so much better “So...”you looked up at him “What brings you here today?” he was obviously making small talk, but it was nice
“I came with my friends here for a nice beach day. What about you?”you asked him
“Me too.”
“You were here before us, right?”
“Yup.”he nodded “I am glad we were.” you looked at him confused “What, you didn’t notice?”you shook your head and Jungkook started laughing
“What?!”you whined
“While you were taking out your towel, by chance, I got a glimpse of your underwear.”
“What!”you hid your face into your hands, placing the can next to you
“I never thought that a pair of blue panties with cats on them would be in your bag.”your wanted to sink in the deepest hole you could find “Don’t get me wrong they were supper cute.” you couldn’t take it anymore, the moment he chuckled you jumped up and ran towards the water. Jungkook was shocked and didn’t know what was happening, so he followed you. stayed
“Y/N?”
“No~!” you jumped into the water and staid underneath. At least that was the plan. While you were holding your breath, two strong hands grabbed your waist and pulled you up.You coughed out a bit. With one of his arms, Jungkook pulled you flush against his body and with the other one he moved the wet strands of hair out of your eyes.
“Come on. I wanted to tease you a bit, I didn’t expect you to run off like that.”
“That was a secret.”you mumbled looking down
“The cats?” you nodded your head “Aw come on. Why do you feel bad about it?”
“Because you saw them....I wanted to look sexy in your eyes.” he smiled and twirled you in the air a bit
“So what if you have cute pants? I think they are adorable, but I would like to see them up close and how they look on you.” he smirked and placed your legs around his waist
“Yah!”you playfully hit his chest
“It seems you like hitting me a lot.” Jungkook commented
“Well stop making me feel embarrassed!”
The boy touched your forehead with his and looked up at your eyes “I don’t want to, I like it a lot when you show your emotions.” he leaned closer to your lips
“I am thirsty.” he stopped and burst out in laughter “What did I say???”
“Way to ruin the moment.”
“What! I am thirsty.” you pouted
“Ok, ok. We are getting out.” Jungkook was still holding you in the water, but once you saw the sand, you jumped out of his arms and ran to grab your cold can. “This girl.” he smiled and ran his hand through his hair
He plopped down on the towel.Still standing, you started chugging down the drink so fast that some of it started dripping down your neck and onto your chest. Once Jungkook noticed that, he couldn’t peel his eyes off of you.
“Ah.”you removed the metal from your lips and sighed in pleasure from the refreshment “I am sticky now.”you said looked at your skin
“Are you kidding me?”you looked down at him “I hope you are doing this on purpose.” he grabbed your hand and pulled you down onto the towel.
“I am not doing anything on purpose.”while you were still talking, his head moved towards your neck and you felt his tongue. “W-what are you doing!!!!”you pulled back shocked, but mostly surprised
“You said you were feeling sticky.I thought I could help you out with that.” at this point you weren’t even blinking and your heart was about to jump out of your chest
“I could go to the ocean!”you said
“Ow, but that is too far.”he came closer to you
“No it’s not.”
“Yes it his.”his body even closer now
“No...”
“If you want to go, then be my guest, but once you come back...I will spill some more on top of you.” he stopped where he was and sat there “Here kitty kitty. Come over here. I won’t hurt you.” you were debating on what to do. Your brain was telling you that it was a dangerous game, but you haven’t been listening to your head that much today. So you said fuck it and crawled over to him.
“Good girl.” he patted your head, when a sudden idea came to your mind. You looked up at him for as long as you needed to pull his attention towards you “What is it?”he asked, you slowly opened your mouth...
“Meow.” Jungkook’s eyes widened and he was speechless, you thought you caught him in your trap, but you were wrong. In a hot second you found yourself for the third time under him.
“You are a very bad kitty. Look at how dirty you are.”he started kissing your neck down to your chest, until you felt the pecks turning into licks.
“Jungkook stop!”you never expected he would actually continue this
“Good kitties don’t talk back.” he kissed your lips so hard that your head was spinning and you weren’t thinking straight, then he continued with your chest. After some time he asked you about the guy that was sitting next to you awhile ago.
“His name is Jay, we met in high school. He is a pretty cool and funny dude. It’s nice hanging out with him.” you were talking, but concentrating too much onto his tongue. Jungkook felt his blood boil a bit when you told him about Jay and his licks turned into small bites. Without noticing it your hands wrapped around his neck. You were too into the moment to even thing straight. You gave up trying to say anything,it was too good to even try.Jungkook was enjoying the sexy faces you were making and your body under his, the way his hands fit onto your waist like they were meant to be there, but when he looked up and noticed your friend getting out of the water, he reached for the opened beach umbrella that was just lying on the sand and covered your face.
“Hey has someone seen Y/N?”asked Mai
“No.”Mark looked around, but you weren’t anywhere close by
“Maybe she went to get some ice cream. It is hot after all.”Sarah commented
“Uh, it’s that guy again.”said a very pissed Jay
“Who?”asked Mai and he pointed at Jungkook
“Why do you hate him so much?”she asked him
“When we were talking with Y/N his ball rolled over and he touched her leg while getting it.”he was obviously annoyed
“Dude!”Mark said loud and pulled Jungkook’s attention. At this point you haven’t noticed your friends yet “I was able to give you two alone time and you let another guy take your girl?!”
“He didn’t take her!”Jay yelled out “I still have a chance.”
“Yeah you do.”Sarah chuckled with sarcasm
“Look at him, he is obviously making out with some other girl. Maybe his girlfriend.”
“Think whatever you want Jay.”Mai picked up her towel and started drying off her body
“We should be going back now.” Mark suggested
“We think so too.” the girls agreed “We will go and try searching for her, you get packing.”
“Ok.”the boys agreed
Jungkook pulled back and you looked at him “Your friends are getting ready to leave.”
“What!”you stood up “When did they get back?”you turned your head to look at Jungkook ”What now?I don’t want to leave yet.”sadness took over the happiness in your heart.
“Go with them.”said Jungkook
“No~”you whined in his arms
“It’s ok kitten. I will come and get you.”
“How?”you asked
“You will see.”he winked and made sure no one was looking when you jumped from behind the umbrella
You walked towards your friends as normally as you could. Halfway you stopped and turned to look at him. Jungkook was waving his hand and pointing towards his chest. It took you a bit to realize what he was saying, but when you looked down, you noticed all the bites and hickeys. Tiptoeing you went back to him.
“What do I do!?I can’t go like this???” he reached out and gave you his t-shirt
“Here, put this on.”you nodded and covered your body. This time your walk was more calm and normal.
“Hey guys.”you said
“Oh hey Y/N.”said Mark
“Where were you?”asked Jay worried
“You are not my mother.”he looked a bit down, so you patted his back “I am just kidding. I was over there to get some ice cream. It got super hot here.”
“Ah, ok.”
The boys moved everything to the car and you were ready to go. The doors of the vehicle were opened wide, to cool down the temperature inside. Your head kept looking back towards the beach as much as it could.
“By the way.”Mai started “Why are you wearing one of Jay’s shirts?” she asked
“I am not.”you said “Why do you think it’s his?”
“I didn’t bring a shirt like that with me today. “he commented
“Well it smells like a men’s perfume and I just presumed because it is way too big for you.”
“Yeah, Mai is right.Where did you get this shirt from?” Sarah joined the conversation
“It’s so hot here guys.”you placed a fake smile on your face and started waving your hand
“Don’t change the subject.”Jay said with a piercing gaze
“Yeah.” everyone was looking at you and you couldn't say anything
“We can talk in the car.”Mark suggested and everyone except you got in
“Excuse me.”another vehicle stopped next to yours “Can I ask you guys for directions?”
“Yeah sure man.”Jay looked over from his window and his face suddenly changed it’s look “Oh, it’s you.”
“Ha ha.What a coincidence it is.” your mouth opened wide when you saw Jungkook
“Where do you want to go?”asked him Mark
“I just need directions for the exit.” said Jungkook
“OMG he is supper hot!”commented Mai whispering
“Mhm.” Sarah agreed with her
“This is the beach man. You can get out from which ever side you want.” Mark laughed out
“Oh yeah.Sorry about that.” Jungkook scratched the back of his head
Jay was still giving him angry looks and Mark started the car, getting ready to leave.
“Are you here alone?”asked Mai
“Ah actually no.I am here with my girlfriend.”he said
“Where is she?”Sarah looked at his empty car as he wasn’t in it as well
“Put your seat belts on guys, we are leaving.” announced Mark
“Y/N get in the car.” Jay wasn’t feeling comfortable with Jungkook this close to you
“I actually came to get her. She was packing her stuff.I should be leaving now.You all seem in a hurry.” Jay looked in front of himself and relaxed when he heard the car door closing behind him.
“Y/N?”Mai searched for you when she realized you weren’t next to her. Peeking from the window she almost screamed “Y/N!!!” Jay’s head snapped towards the black car next to him “What do you thing you are doing!” he yelled at Jungkook. He closed the open door and picked you up bridal style, placing you onto the passenger seat of his car and making sure you were safe.
He proceeded with sitting in the driver’s seat and staring the car.”I am taking my girl back.”
“WHAT!”everyone gasped “She isn’t your girl!”Jay was yelling like crazy
“Well she isn’t yours too then.”Jungkook’s comment shut him up “Let’s ask her then.”the two boys looked at you. For a second you didn’t know what to do, but then you leaned and kissed Jungkook’s cheek. “Does that answer your question?” he smirked and Jay was left with no comment at all.
“See you later.” he started the car and just left like it was no big deal at all
“Never wear a male’s shirt and a bikini in front of other men again.”it seems he was jealous, which you found very cute
“But it was your shirt and I was hiding the hickeys you gave me.”you answer made him very very happy “Where are we going now?”you asked
“My place?Your place?Which do you prefer?” you looked down and then at him
“Yours...”
“Ok, kitten.”he chuckled
You had around 10 missed calls from Mai and Sarah, it was going to be a long explanation.

i have never been in love, not even been close to it, maybe that sounds pathetic but I'm not worried. but i have known people with potential to be loved or maybe not but thats just how life goes sometimes. paul, you were my very first crush and when we were six years old we got married in the basement of sarah's house. in the fifth grade we stole art supplies from mrs. burke to make tiny shields for our fingers and swords to fight with so we didn't have to pay attention in class. then in that same art room my friends told you i liked you and suddenly we didn't talk anymore, we weren't even friends. you barely talked to me until freshmen year of high school. did you really think i would hold onto you for so long? or did my crush give you an ego you didn't deserve? luke, you really fucked up my self esteem and i hope you know that but you probably don't. i wonder if you ever think about me. but sometimes you'll creep into my mind. after all you were the first boy who ever showed interest in me, the first guy i ever seriously liked. we would talk until one am, which seemed like a big deal to a fourteen year old girl. maybe it was important to you too, you acted like it. you acted like you liked me but maybe thats all it was because the next thing i know I'm sitting in my basement with my best friend in our matching onesies and she turns to me saying "so today luke asked me out and now were dating, i guess" i faked a smile and let her gush about you to me for months. she wanted us to hang out sometimes, all three of us but i couldn't stand to see you two together, it felt like a knife in my back that you two shared. so i guess this letter is to the both of you, the boy who gave me hope but crushed it and my old best friend who knew i liked you a lot but never even stopped to think about me. what i mean to say in this letter is, fuck you two I'm glad you broke up and I'm still angry that nobody stopped to consider how i felt. thomas, sometimes i feel bad referring to you as "too much tongue thomas" but the truth is you ended up licking my cheek and tried to shove your tongue down my throat. you put me off of making out that freshmen year. so sorry for giving you a bad reputation, after all you were my first drunk make out. preston, in the beginning of freshmen year i really liked you, did you know that? funny how things work out, especially timing. i liked you and your dumb jokes a lot, i liked when you stole my phone and took bad selfies on it, i liked talking to you about nothing. and then one day my feelings faded. then the night before my birthday of sophomore year we were at alex's house for a party. you were too far gone and we talked while your head was in my lap and your hand on ass. but at another party, after another loss at a football game, in jack's basement. both of us were drunk but not too drunk. and we were lying on the floor on our sides and suddenly we were making out. eventually we migrated to the couch and i straddled you while attempting not to fall off the couch. it was sloppy and drunk, kept pg-13 but even then you couldn't look me in the eye the next morning, too drunk to go home last night. but then we were friends again, you taught me how to smoke weed, which only leads to another story but this next one isn't about you. thank you for being a friend. devon, man did you fuck me over. i forgive you though, sort of. we met through a friend, nikki. she had told me a few weeks back that you were gay and perfect for me but you had a girl friend. then all the sudden you guys broke up and i got your number as well as the nerve to talk to you. everything was perfect, we were flirting and we would hold hands and cuddled. one night i got drunk and called you, for a second there you were my person. the one i trusted most. and then one day after third period nikki texts me telling me she's a horrible person because you two were dating now. that whole day was awful. maybe it hurt more than anybody before me because i thought you were different. or maybe just because this wasn't the first time it had happened. maybe a week later i was still getting over you. you hadn't texted or talked to me once after you and nikki started dating. so i turned my lights off and played sad music until i felt sad and pathetic enough to text you. i remember asking if you had ever really like me at all. you said you had. i guess i wasn't enough for you. slowly i moved on but it was hard seeing you and nikki all happy together. until suddenly you two broke up and it all ended in flames. it looked like it hurt, it looked like it hurt nikki more. you had gotten back together with your long time ex parker. i slowly forgot about you. but i was still recovering from the nights spent thinking of you, the days where i cried in the shower. in sophomore year you had messaged me and said you were sorry, that I'm still there in your thoughts, you said it was weird how quickly i came in and out of your life. i forgave you but i told you that it had hurt. i wanted you to know that. i still don't think you fully do because you were the closest i ever came to love. we talk now. were friends. you found my poetry blog here and you ask me if I'm okay when i post a sad poem at two in the morning. i forgive you even though it still hurts a bit. chase, should you even get one? all we did was make out in your car after a drinking in a park and then tried to go pool hopping in march. you probably don't get one but hey you're the hottest guy I've ever hooked up with so you have that going for you. nico, fuck you. you are an asshole, everytime i see a picture of you all i can think of is one word to describe you: asshole. i really liked you. a lot. and you might have known, maybe not. but you taught me how to smoke weed, well you and alex and preston. i remember thinking it was attractive how you would light the bong for me or found the way you drove attractive. we started talking and snap chatting. one time you said i owed you falafel and it felt like an unset unsaid date. we never got falafel. one night you asked me if i was free but i was in the mountains, damn timing. its a bitch. another night you asked me if i was still up, when i said yes you replied with "oh good" and we talked for a while, i miss that. then one night i snuck you and your friends into my room and we watched sharknado with codi. you guys left soon after but at one am you came back, i thought something was gonna happen that night but i was too much of a wimp to do anything. and then one night i got drunk alone off white wine in my room and texted you. i told you to come over, that i was drunk off wine. when you came over we talked for a couple minutes, about the show i was watching and my socks, how to pronounce your last name. and then we were kissing. my shirt came off, my bra came off. we made out until we stopped and you started to finger me. you were the first guy to do that, apparently i was the first girl you fingered too. then you left and everything became fucked. we stopped talking, we stopped smoking together in the group. what i had wanted for so long was suddenly something i regretted. because as much as i loved kissing you and running my hands through your hair i liked talking and hanging out. you were a dick to me after that night. you wouldn't even look at me for weeks. fuck you. i hate to admit it but i think you'll be the boy i always have a thing for. but if you every asked me to hook up i would say no, just to spite you. at least, i hope i would. kai, hey. you're the last one on here. well for now anyways. i don't really know what to say because i don't really know where we stand. i met you through our friend ryan. i had the house empty for the weekend and decided to have a kick back, so i had codi and jenna over and invited ryan and told him to bring some friends. i had never met you but the whole night we flirted but we never hooked up even though we both wanted to. maybe it was because me and codi left to go to 7-11 and when we came back you puked. you ended up sleeping on my bathroom floor and the next morning i washed your shirt and you, codi, and i went to get bagels. eventually i drove codi home and it was you and me, and the tv in the background playing Mamma Mia. We went down to get your shirt out of the dryer and all the sudden you had me up against the washer and we were kissing. you had said to me you wish thats what we had been doing this whole time. we went up to the couch and made out. you unclipped my bra from under my shirt, one handed, and then ryan burst into the house. i quickly climbed off your lap and held my bra down my folding my arms over my chest. ryan left us alone for a couple minutes and we kissed goodbye. i thought that was the end. but then you snap chatted me, told me we should finish mamma mia or cuddle and nap. but i never responded because i was already asleep. but we kept talking, you wrote me paragraphs on why you liked me. i came over to your apartment one day and we hooked up and went to five guys and stayed there for an hour talking. we went back to your place and made out some more, when i left you pinned me against a wall and kissed me goodbye. you had left hickies covering my chest. this happened a few more times, we would get food and make out. we went to the movies and cuddled and kissed in the back row as teenagers do. then you had to leave for the rest of the summer. the last time i saw you i was in pajama shorts and my hufflepuff sweater, you kissed me and told me you would see me in seven weeks. its been about six weeks now and I'm trying to figure out where we stand. or even if i still like you. ill admit i think i miss you, when you snap chat me i don't get excited but maybe thats because you never ask me how i am like i ask you. you come home soon and i wonder if what you said last time i saw you was true. i don't think this letter is finished yet. ill let you know when it is - DRAFT -.
love-ish- letters ill never send

Summary: Whitney Earp is getting married, which in a small town like Purgatory, is big news already, but Whitney has a secret. While sorting through some boxes in the attic, preparing for her move off the homestead, she stumbles across a familiar white stetson, and her mother’s old journal. She learns that her mother Waverly has been keeping something important from her her entire life -- Waverly Earp is not her biological mother. Through lies and the perfect scheme, and a wedding that is one disaster after another, Whitney is determined to get to the bottom of the family secret, even if it means getting both of her mothers in the same room after 20 years of estrangement.
Note: @jaybear1701 and I promised that as soon as we were blessed with new content from the Wynonna team, we would start posting this. The idea for this started as a Christmas fic but it got back burnered until just recently. It was inspired during a less than sober viewing of Mamma Mia and the dilemma came from how do you gay up a story line that only seems possible in a straight world. We hope we did ok.
"I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all Walks along the Seine, Laughing in the rain Our last summer Memories that remain…"
On any normal day at the Earp homestead, the sun would be rising to the peaceful serenity of the vast snow-covered land, the sound of birds chiming in to sing the tale of the coming day. As of late, however, there were no normal days, and it wasn't rare that the brightening of the horizon was accompanied by the loud clatter of hammers and drills. The small army of men worked tirelessly, clearing away the snow that had fallen the night before to continue construction of the temporary shelter.
The sound of a generator firing up jarred a young woman from slumber, long brunette hair dishevelled from a full night's sleep. Blinking light brown eyes open, Whitney Earp sighed softly, curling under the thick comforter in her cocoon of warmth. The pillow beside her own on the queen sized bed was home to a blur of red and green, and she reached up to rub her eyes before she focused on the single rose. A smile spread across her face, dimples evident to the empty room as she picked up the bloom, breathing in the sweet scent.
"Sap." She chuckled, running her fingertip along the length of the dark green stem that had been shorn of all thorns. It made waking up alone a little more bearable as she pushed aside the blanket and slipped from her bed. She tucked the rose into the vase of mixed flowers on her way to the bathroom, pausing to look at her own reflection.
"Three more sleeps," she told herself, running her fingers through her unruly wavy hair and pulling it back into a loose bun. It was all that was on her mind as she got herself prepared for the day, brushing her teeth and washing her face. Looking a little closer, she wrinkled her nose at the sight of her natural hair color showing at the roots. She'd have to make sure to get the brown evened out, maybe some highlights?
"Three more sleeps," she repeated, slipping into an oversized knit sweater, careful to tuck her ring on the inside of her hand so she didn't snag it again. A knock on the door got her attention as she was slipping her boots on over her leggings. "Come in!"
"Hey Whitney," a familiar voice sounded before the door even opened. Recent revelations had opened another door to mistrust, but the way her mother smiled at her, she never had to question if it was genuine. "I'm about to head out to go pick up your aunt." Even into her 40s, Waverly Earp had an aura of honest affection for almost everyone she was around.
Whitney smiled the same smile, or at least she always thought it was the same smile. "I can't believe Aunt Wynonna is flying in. She hates flying." Standing up, she stretched her back out with a yawn.
"Well until they build that bridge from Europe…" Her mother laughed, stepping up to wrap her arms around her in a hug.
Whitney took a long breath, revelling in the comforting embrace. She savored the familiar scent of perfume, the one that hadn't changed since she could remember, and the way her mother would pull her down half a foot to rest her chin on her shoulder, no matter how many inches the years had added to her height. This was home. This was her mother, and her mother was going to be pissed at her soon, if everything went the way she planned.
"My baby girl… three more sleeps and I can finally turn your room into my crafting room."
"Mom!" Whitney laughed, pushing her away. "You know I'm going to be bugging you left and right, right? I mean I'm still going to be working at the bar."
"Bah." Her mother waved dismissively at her before heading out the door with Whitney in tow, moving down the stairs of the home. "I should fire you, just to force your tushie to get a real job."
"Go ahead. Then you can get someone like Dani or Trina to wait your tables for you. See how well that goes…" Whitney smirked. It was a common argument they had, her mother wanting her to go out and experience the world, but she knew her mother wasn't serious. There was no way Waverly would follow through with that threat. Her mother had spent the last 20 years of her life focusing solely on Whitney, and she was forever grateful for that.
No matter what she had read in some silly diary.
She hadn't meant to snoop around, but curiosity was in her genes. Well, she couldn't really say that anymore either. She wasn't sure. Growing up, Whitney had always wondered about her own conception. Her mother had always told her she was conceived with the ways of modern technology, through in vitro fertilization with a sperm donor. It had always seemed strange to her, considering her mother was one of the most beautiful women she'd ever seen, someone loved by everyone in town, unlike her wayward aunt who everyone had a complaint about.
So why would a beautiful woman in her 20s turn to science instead of companionship?
"That's a long story full of tears and heartbreak. I'll tell you when you're older." Her mother had always said. But as it turned out, she would never be old enough for that story...at least until she discovered the truth herself.
Okay so maybe she was a bit of a busy body, Whitney could admit, but she hadn't been looking to uncover ancient mysteries.
She had just been going through the attic, packing up her things in preparation for the big move when she found it, a dust-covered cardboard box shoved in a corner labeled: DO NOT OPEN EVER AGAIN.
Her mother may as well have set her in front of a big red button and told her not to touch it. To her surprise, it was just… stuff. There were no dangerous contents, no poisonous spiders or venomous snakes waiting to strike. Lifting out the white stetson and what looked like an older version of the uniform her fiancé wore, she set both aside and dug a little further. A coffee mug, a few knick knacks, and…
Lifting up the framed photo, her eyebrows furrowed. The glass was shattered, like someone had hastily thrown it in the box, but it did little to damage the memory it contained. She recognized her mother instantly, minus the streaks of gray and the wrinkles she had always called her laugh lines.
Who she didn't recognize was the redhead, sitting behind her mother, arms wrapped possessively around her shoulders, chin resting on a shoulder.
Now, her mother was always a cheerful person, never one to get upset quickly or get frustrated with her demonic spawn of a child that seemed to get into anything and everything she could reach, but Whitney had never in her life seen her mother smile like that. That smile on her face, and the smile of the woman behind her didn't simply display happiness, it was nauseating bliss.
So naturally, when she found the diary, wrapped in an old t-shirt, her curiosity was beyond piqued. Really, who on Earth would be able to resist reading a diary that was older than she was? What had her mother been like at her age? What did she do to pass the time when she wasn't burdened with raising a child alone at such an early age? Did she date? Was she as wild as her Aunt Wynonna?
She hadn't expected to uncover some huge secret.
Nicole Haught. She had a name to associate with the picture and there were definitely some things she was sorry she read as she flipped through the pages, her own cheeks inflamed with guilt and an inability to put the book down. It wasn't just some sad story, it was her mother's life in black and white on page but full of color in memory. She nearly cried as she read through her mother's hidden feelings when the first IVF procedure resulted in failure. When she reached the last page, simply mentioning some complications with the second IVF after a fight, she felt like everything began to make sense.
Why she was taller than her mother. Why she didn't share a single physical trait with anyone in the family. Why, without her trips to the salon, she would be the only one in the family with red hair. Looking at the picture, studying the familiar curve of a jawline and dimples matching her own, she finally understood.
"Hey."
Whitney shook her head. "What?"
"You're spazzing out." Her mother narrowed her eyes, holding the back of her hand to her forehead. "No fever… are you feeling dizzy?"
Swatting the hand away, Whitney laughed. "I'm fine. You should probably get going before Aunt Wynonna lands." She pulled the scarf off the hook near the door and wrapped it around her mother's neck. "Hey… you know I love you right?"
Her mother blinked, a smile crossing her face. "I love you too, Kiddo, but you better not be thinking about running off and eloping cause I'll hunt you down and kill you myself. I've got a small village being built out back 'cause you wanted an outdoor wedding in the middle of winter."
"No eloping," she reassured her mother. "I'm just… just really glad to have you as a mom." She saw it, that little falter in her mother's smile and she couldn't imagine how she'd never noticed it before.
"Well… I couldn't ask for a better daughter than you." Her mother looked like she wanted to say more, but she didn't. She just stood there with half a smile until they both jumped at the sound of skidding.
A loud series of honks accompanied loud music as a car pulled dangerously close to her mother's SUV. Her mother was quick to open the screen door, stepping out into the cold. "MARGARETTE SUSANNAH NEDLEY YOU BETTER NOT HAVE HIT MY CAR!"
Whitney cringed when her friends laughed, crawling out of the convertible that had its top down despite the weather.
"Sorry Miss Waverly." Both of her friends spoke at the same time, running up the stairs.
"Holy shit it's cold."
"Your mom is hilarious."
Whitney didn't respond. She waited for her mother to pull herself into the SUV, patience wearing thin as it took longer than it should for Waverly to pull away from the driveway. Finally she turned to her two friends, her maids of honor because she could never choose between the two. "Guys… I have a confession…"
"Oh my god, you're knocked up!" Margarette, or Anna as everyone knew her by, piped up.
"No! I did something really stupid yet super genius and my mother is going to kill me."
Anna grinned. "I love stupid genius."
"Oh no, Whit. What did you do?" The shortest of the group, Jen, gave her a worried look.
Whitney ran upstairs, taking them two at a time until she got to her room, quickly grabbing the diary from where she'd hid it before running back downstairs. "Ok so…" She poured herself a cup of coffee from the already brewed pot her mother had made. "I invited my mother to my wedding."
Both of her friends gave her a confused look. "Um… Dude I thought your mom gets to be there like by default…" Anna made her own cup of coffee, drowning it in sugar and cream until it was a beige color.
"Not her." Biting her bottom lip, Whitney took a deep breath before blurting out, "my real mother."
"Oh my God… are you adopted?" Anna jumped to the closest assumption. "Holy shit, Whit. I mean we always wondered why you were like the only ginger in the family."
"Especially with red hair being a passive gene." Jen gave her friend a worried look. "How did you find out?"
Whitney shook her head, holding up the diary. "I'm not adopted. My mother gave birth to me but, I found this diary in a hidden box in the attic. The egg my mother had implanted was not hers but… her girlfriend's."
Having been in the middle of a sip of coffee, Anna coughed in surprise, spraying the table with coffee.
"Ew. Anna." Jen quickly stood up to get a towel. "How did we not know your mom was gay?"
"Because she never dates." Whitney pointed out, wiping a bit of the splashed coffee from her arm. "And I don't think she's gay. I mean, she dated Jesse's dad for years."
"That's so creepy," Anna commented. "His dad is so creepy."
"Wait… you said you invited her to the wedding." Jen was always the brighter of her two friends, always trying to connect pieces of puzzles together. "Did you talk to her?"
"Well, no." Whitney felt a bit of guilt at that part. "She might have thought the invite was coming from my mother."
There was complete silence for a long moment before Anna finally spoke up. "Fuck. You're gonna have a wedding and a funeral on the same day."
"Your mother is going to kill you."
Whitney shook her head. "It's going to be fine. I'm going to meet my mother, and maybe find out what the hell happened between them." Pulling out the picture she'd liberated from the frame, she set it on the table for her friends to see. "Because I want to see my mother smile like this."
"Dude…" Jen looked closer at the picture, her eyes darting back and forth between the photo and Whitney. Now that the physical evidence was there, there was no way to deny the resemblance.
A smile spread across Anna's face. "What's the plan?"
"What the hell, Waves? Do you know how long I've been waiting?"
Waverly laughed as she shut the engine off, hopping out of the SUV. "Hey, Sis." She opened the back door for the luggage to be deposited before pulling her sibling into a much needed hug. It had been at least a year since she'd seen her. "I missed you."
Wynonna seemed to sense it as she let her sister hold on for longer than the norm, pressing a kiss to her forehead before pulling away. "Hey... I haven't been gone that long…"
"I know…" Waverly released a shuddering breath, trying not to let the strain show. "I'm just… exhausted." She smiled weakly before patting Wynonna on the shoulder, heading back to the driver's seat. "So," she cleared her throat when her sister hopped in, "no Dolls?" She was hesitant to ask, but curiosity was always one of her major weaknesses.
Wynonna shrugged, propping her feet up on the dash as Waverly pulled out into traffic. "We were in the middle of tracking some demon thing I couldn't even try to pronounce. He decided it was that much more important… some sort of worldwide epidemic or whatever…"
"Wynonna! You left him there?" It wasn't that unbelievable, Waverly decided as she pulled onto the highway. Her sister always had a nonchalance that bordered on dangerous, but she also knew that if Wynonna didn't think Dolls could handle it, she wouldn't have left. No doubt Dolls probably hadn't been surprised. 20 years with her sister made even her notoriously unpredictable nature predictable.
"Like I was going to miss the wedding of my favorite niece?"
Waverly rolled her eyes. "You mean your only niece."
"Hey that's not my fault." She leaned her chair back. "Maybe if you dated more…"
"No." Waverly cut her off. Dating was the last thing she wanted to partake in. 20 years and she could count the amount of dates she'd been on on one hand and none of them had come anywhere close to… She shook her head. That was the last thing she needed to think about. "I don't have the time or energy to deal that with… that." It wasn't a lie. Running a bar and taking care of a daughter, who seemed to have gained some of her sister's knack for trouble, wasn't the easiest thing to do alone.
"It's just a bar, Waves."
"And raising a daughter."
Wynonna snorted. "That girl is raised. You need to find a new excuse." She picked at the edge of her coat, a hesitant expression on her face. "So… any word from Doc?"
Waverly didn't want to mention it. She'd been willing to just let the whole subject die but since her sister asked. "I sent an invitation to his last address but I never heard back. You know he just… moves around a lot. It's hard to keep track of him."
"Oh well… fuck him. It's his loss."
While it was true she missed her sister, sometimes the Earp heir could be a pain in her ass. "God you're so full of it. You know you're lucky you're pretty… even for a 50 year old."
"Whoa! I've still got a year… or not… shit."
"Maybe you should try sticking around for a little bit. It'd be nice to have a friendly face other than the one that crawled out of me."
Wynonna sighed, tipping the chair back a bit. "Problem with Purgatory is, without revenants, it's boring as shit. Should have never broken that curse." She crossed her arms over her chest, trying to find the most comfortable position. "Probably why your kid is getting married at 20."
"Believe me I tried to talk her out of it." Waverly exhaled slowly, taking the next exit off the highway. "She's dead set on this wedding."
"I can't believe you're letting her marry into that family."
Waverly snorted. "At least she's not marrying into the Nedleys."
Wynonna chortled, a smile pulling at one side of her mouth. "Whit still friends with that girl? She's always been a looker, but man, no one's really home upstairs."
"Wynonna!" Waverly tried not to laugh. "That's horrible to say." It was fairly accurate. "She's actually gotten a lot better." No she hadn't. "She and Jen are Whit's maids of honor."
"Aren't they called bridesmaids?"
"Yeah well she didn't want to have to choose."
"Changing the rules due to her own conflict avoidance… Earps don't avoid conflict. We thrive in it." Wynonna pursed her lips, the silence speaking more words than she dared speak. She had never agreed with Waverly's decision as far as what to tell Whitney, but she supported her right to raise the girl how she wanted. So instead, she changed the subject. "Jen… Jen… shit is that Pete's kid?" She winced.
"Oh yeah. Thank god her mother's got a brain."
"Smallest fucking town ever." Wynonna sighed, pulling herself back into a sitting up position. "Why do you keep letting her associate with kids of people we've slept with?"
"Smallest… fucking… town." Waverly sighed softly as they passed old and familiar buildings that hadn't changed in more than two decades, as if time had stood still.
Nicole Haught took her time as she worked her way through throngs of travelers on her way to her departure gate. The airport thrummed with holiday excitement that was impossible to ignore, try as she might. She passed underneath arches of garland strung from the terminal's high tunneled ceiling, bright red bows and white fairy lights contrasting beautifully against deep green.
Nicole hitched her messenger bag higher on her shoulder and quietly hummed along with George Michael singing Last Christmas on the loudspeaker. She was early for her flight. Perhaps too early. She had been unable to sleep a wink the night before, nerves too wired with eagerness and trepidation. Eventually, she had given up with trying to catch elusive slumber and went straight to the airport.
She paused underneath a globe sculpture illuminated like a massive Christmas ornament, staring at one particular spot on the North American continent-a place Nicole had avoided for over 20 years. A place she would set foot in once again after four hours by plane and an additional hour by car.
She knew it might be a bad idea. Hell, who was she trying to fool? It was a bad idea. Her logical side, the one now sharply honed by years of legal practice, screamed at her to turn around and go back home.
But she couldn't.
Not with the wedding invitation from Waverly Earp tucked snugly inside her bag. Not with the whisper in her heart telling her that getting on the plane meant that she would finally be going home for the first time in a long time.
Before she could dwell on it further, something collided with her legs. Something fast. Something small. Nicole glanced down at a little girl, about 3 or 4 years old, clinging to her leg and looking up at her with wide hazel eyes. She wore a bright red puffy coat and dark green mittens.
"Hey there," Nicole greeted with a gentle smile. "You okay?"
The girl nodded, but said nothing. Only stared at Nicole, curious and unafraid.
"Lily!" A voice shouted. It came from a harried-looking woman rushing up to them, dreadlocks swishing behind her, bangles jangling on her wrists. "I'm, like, so sorry. I swear I turned around for a nanosecond and she took off."
"It's not a problem," Nicole replied. "I think maybe she just wanted to admire the globe too." She winked at Lily, who smiled in return.
"I'm going to California!" Lily shouted suddenly, pointing to the western coast of the United States..
"California?" Nicole bent down and rested her hands on her knees. "I love California! Are you going wine tasting? That's my favorite."
Lily giggled. "No, that's silly. I'm going to Mickey's house with grandma!"
"Mickey's house!" Nicole exclaimed. "That's amazing!"
"She loves Disneyland," the mother supplied, pushing up her black, cateye frames higher on her nose.
"For my birthday," Lily added.
"It's your birthday?" Nicole asked. "Happy Birthday!"
"Not today," Lily corrected her with a shake of her head. "Christmas!"
Nicole felt a sharp pang in her heart even as she continued to voice excitement. "Wow!" She straightened up and smiled at Lily's mother. "A Christmas baby. That's pretty special."
"Yeah. Our little miracle." She ruffled her daughter's blonde curls then took her by the hand. "Okay, monkey, let's go find maman. Say goodbye to…"
"Nicole."
"Say goodbye to Miss Nicole."
"GOODBYE MISS NICOLE!" Lily waved a mittened hand.
"Bye Lily! Have a happy birthday and merry Christmas in California!"
"And thanks again," the mother said. "My wife totally would have killed me for not keeping track of her."
"No thanks needed." Nicole waved her off. "Have a safe trip and happy holidays."
"Ditto." She nodded with a toothy grin and lead Lily away.
Nicole watched them walk away, a bittersweet melancholy aching inside her chest, which squeezed even tighter when Lily ran into the arms of another woman who shared the little girl's blonde curls. The tall woman scooped up the toddler and kissed both of her cheeks, holding her with one arm while she laced the fingers of her free hand with the shorter woman's. They continued walking together as a family.
That could have been me, Nicole thought, ignoring the sting in her eyes. Me and Waverly.
Nicole took a deep breath and continued to her gate, unable to stop the memories from flooding back into her mind. Memories she successfully kept at bay most of the time, but couldn't resist at this time of year. Memories of going to her apartment after a grueling string of 12-hour days plus extra overtime with Black Badge. Nicole had been exhausted, all the energy sapped from her bones.
It was just after 7 on a Friday night in early February and Nicole was heading home to freshen up before going to pick up Waverly in about an hour. Even though they spent nearly every night together, she already missed Waverly. Missed the way her small frame slotted perfectly with her own, the smell of sweet wildflowers on her sheets. Missed the sound of her voice and the gentle smile she reserved for Nicole, and only Nicole.
They'd had a busy few months, discussing the possibility of marriage and starting a family, all on top of revenant hunting and the mundane grind of their day jobs. But despite her body's aching desire for rest, Nicole wanted nothing more than to be with Waverly, to have a quiet dinner together at a nice restaurant and not worry about anything else.
Nicole's keys jangled in the lock as she pushed the door to her apartment open, expecting to be welcomed by a purring ball of fluff. But Calamity was nowhere to be seen and, instead, Nicole was greeted by the heavenly aroma of baking bread
Brow furrowing and mouth watering, Nicole cautiously shut the door and approached the kitchen, relaxing only when she heard Waverly's humming over the soft sounds of chopping. Nicole turned the corner and smiled in surprise, chest warming at the scene before her. Waverly stood at the counter, still in her Shorty's shirt, hips swaying slightly to the song she was singing as she scooped up carrots and placed them in a salad bowl. Calamity laid next to Waverly's feet, sprawled out on the laminate floor, the tip of her tail thumping contentedly.
"I didn't know Shorty's made house calls," Nicole drawled, a lazy grin spreading on her face as Waverly and Calamity both startled.
"Oh!" Waverly pressed a hand to her heart while Calamity glared at Nicole through slitted eyes. "I didn't hear you come in." She wiped her hands on a kitchen towel hanging from the dishwasher and stepped over Calamity to wrap her arms around Nicole's neck and kiss her. "Hi."
"Hi," Nicole repeated against Waverly's lips, hands resting in the dip of Waverly's waist.
"Welcome home."
Nicole loved the way that sounded, coming from Waverly. Would love to hear it for the rest of her life, if she was lucky enough.
"What's all this?" Nicole asked. "I thought we were going into the city tonight."
"I know." Waverly smoothed her hands down to Nicole's shoulders. "But after everything, I figured we could use a night in."
"To bake?"
"Yeah." Waverly bit the corner of her lip. "Is that okay?"
"Of course!" Nicole rubbed circles along the small of Waverly's back. "Just what are you making? It smells amazing."
"Go investigate for yourself, officer." Waverly winked and wiggled out from Nicole's grasp.
"Well all right then," Nicole drawled as she walked toward the oven.
She flipped the switch for the internal lights, bent down, and peered inside where a single tray of hot buns were turning a beautiful shade of golden brown.
"Buns." Nicole turned her head back toward Waverly, who watched her expectantly.
"Yes."
"Great." Nicole straightened out and clapped her hands together. "When do we eat? I'm starving."
Waverly visibly deflated. "That's it?"
"What?"
"That's all you have to say?"
Nicole wrinkled her nose. "Um… I'm sorry, honey, thank you? I appreciate all your hard work."
Waverly covered her face with her hands and chuckled. "Wynonna might have to take back what she said about me finally picking a smart one." She slid her eyes back down and looked at Nicole with warm exasperation. "Try again."
"O-kay," Nicole said, drawing out the first syllable.
"What am I making?"
"Buns."
"And where am I making them?"
"In the…" Nicole's eyes widened. "You've got…" Her heart stopped. "Holy shit, you're pregnant!?"
"No! Oh my god!" Waverly facepalmed. "Jesus, I'm not the Virgin Mary, Nicole."
"Then what…?" Nicole was so confused.
"I'm trying to tell you that I'm ready, you goofnut!" Waverly threw her hands up in the air.
"You're ready?"
"To start a family. With you," Waverly shook her head affectionately, "though I'm starting to think twice about it now."
Nicole let out a relieved laugh. "For a minute there I thought... nevermind what I thought." She took a tentative step forward. "But what about the revenants? The curse?"
"I don't care about any of that." Waverly stepped forward and cupped Nicole's face between her hands. A beautiful, but nervous smile broke out across Waverly's face, wide and bright. "We can do anything together. That is, if you want."
"If I want?" Nicole scooped Waverly into her arms. She twirled them both around, and Waverly laughed in delight. "I want nothing more."
"So we're doing this," Waverly said as she pulled back, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Really doing this?"
Nicole answered her with a kiss, elated beyond words, her own cheeks wet with happiness. She felt like she was floating straight up into the stratosphere.
But oh, how quickly one could fall back down to earth, Nicole thought as clouds streamed past her window. The flight had taken off on time and without a hitch-a small miracle for the holiday season. One of the attendants pushed her trolley past and stopped next to Nicole.
"Care for some refreshments?" The perky blonde asked. Her name tag read: Zoie.
"How 'bout a martini?" Pulling down her tray, Nicole smiled even though she already knew what the answer would be.
"We don't carry vermouth, unfortunately. Or olives. But I do have vodka and gin."
"A vodka tonic would be fine, thanks Zoie, on the rocks."
"Not into tradition, huh?"
Nicole's brows knitted. "I'm sorry?"
"I'm assuming you'd want vodka in your martini instead of gin, the more traditional choice."
Nicole chuckled. "I guess you could say I can be pretty unorthodox."
"Unorthodox huh?" Zoie licked her lips, "I like that in a woman." She scooped up some crushed ice into a small plastic cup, which she set in front of Nicole on top of a square napkin. She poured one small bottle of vodka into the cup. "Here ya go, gorgeous." She slipped one extra bottle into Nicole's palm with a wink, thumb skimming Nicole's fingers, before continuing down the aisle.
Nicole lifted her drink, the napkin shifting slightly to reveal a business card underneath. She took a sip to cover her flattered smile; she was only human after all, and it'd been so long since an attractive woman had flirted with her. So long since she reciprocated. Would it be so bad if she gave Zoie a call…?
The sharp taste of the alcohol snapped Nicole back to just where she was going and who she was about to see. In all honesty, she used to enjoy the taste of gin and its pungent pine cone flavor. But ever since she left Purgatory, the taste only reminded her of what she had lost.
The evergreens scattered around the Homestead were particularly fragrant in the early spring, before wildflowers and tree blossoms overpower the fresh pine scent. But Nicole hardly paid the joys of nature any mind as she tried to catch her breath, coming down from a blissful, heart-pounding high. Waverly, equally breathless, curled against her. A light breeze chilled their bare skin and Nicole gathered the extra blanket they brought on their picnic and tucked it around their naked bodies.
"We were supposed to eat you know," Waverly murmured into Nicole's shoulder.
"We will." Nicole pressed a kiss to Waverly's forehead. "Nothing wrong with workin' up an appetite."
Waverly hummed, content, the rays of the afternoon sun filtering through the branches overhead and flickering across her face. "It's finally getting warm again," she said, lazy and slow. "And when winter comes back, we might have a baby. Can you believe it?"
"No," she said truthfully.
"Me neither." Waverly peered up at her, a shadow of uncertainty passing over her features. "Sometimes… sometimes I think… what if something happens? What if…"
"Nothing's gonna happen," Nicole reassured her, even as a now familiar spike of anxiety cut through and tempered her excitement. "Everything's gonna work out. You'll see."
"You don't know that."
"No, I don't," Nicole admitted, tenderly brushing Wavelry's hair behind her ear. "But everything will work out the way it's supposed to."
"You really believe that, huh?"
"I do." Nicole nodded. She couldn't let on about just how worried she was. They both knew the chances of implantation were low, and the chances of making it to a live birth even lower. But there was no reason to upset Waverly and trouble her about things neither of them could control. All they could do was focus on the positive. "You, me, and Nicole Jr.? We're gonna live happily ever after."
Waverly giggled and swatted Nicole's chest. "For the last time, we are not naming our baby Nicole Jr."
Nicole opened her mouth to reply.
"Or Nicholas," Waverly beat her to it. "Can you imagine being born on Christmas with that name? He'd never hear the end of it."
Nicole chuckled. "Fine, fine. Then what names do you like?"
Waverly grew quiet for a few moments, eyes shining with thought and mirth. "Okay… Wendy, Wilma, Wanda, Wilson, Walter…"
"Good gravy. You Earps and your W names, I swear." Nicole shook her head.
"It's tradition."
"Tradition isn't always a good thing."
Waverly pushed herself up onto her elbow and leaned over Nicole. "It is to me."
Nicole could hardly ever say no to Waverly, and she was especially weak when Waverly looked so beautiful, hair mussed, lips swollen, and cheeks flushed from their lovemaking.
"Okay," she caved. "How 'bout…I don't know... Whitney?"
"Whitney," Waverly repeated, turning the name over in her mind. "I'll think about it."
Nicole stared at the wedding invitation, fingers tracing the laced edge, thumb brushing over black ink on pearl white cardstock. It read:
Ms. Waverly Earp Solicits the Honor of Your Gracious Presence At the Marriage of Her Daughter Whitney Earp To Jesse James Saturday, the Twenty-First of December, Two Thousand and Forty High Noon At The Earp Homestead Reception to Follow
Nicole took a deep breath. Whitney. The name echoed in her mind as she wondered again if she was making a mistake. She probably was. But by now it was too late. The pilot came over the loudspeaker to announce that they were making their final descent into Calgary.

On the Road
AN: Hey guys! I know I’ve been like MIA for so long when it comes to writing, but after deciding to discontinue SWMA I actually found some inspiration for a different fic. I’m gonna be real and let you guys know that the official AU is not gonna be announced until about part 4 but I wanna see if you guys can guess so hmu. Anyways, in addition to this, I’m also working on another AU fic so that should be out around March. I’m trying to see where i can go with the story first before actually posting it. Thanks for being patient with me!
Warnings: Alcohol use, some minor swearing
Word Count: 4K
Summary: (Y/n) is a preschool teacher in the small town she grew up in, craving for a more interesting life. After her friends insist she join them on an outing to the city, (y/n) meets Kylo Ren, a mysterious man who she knows very little about. Despite a friend’s warning and many awkward encounters, (y/n) finds herself unbelievably intrigued by this man, and Kylo, though he would never admit it feels the same. However, Kylo knows something that (y/n) doesn’t. No matter how they go about the situation, something wrong is bound to happen.
Yawning, your eyes slowly opening to the morning sun that was rising over the tree line, you fidgeted around in your rather uncomfortable seat. The radio was playing softly, an old classic rock song helping to wake you from your not so peaceful slumber. With a stretch of your arms, you moved to sit up, readjusting the seat belt so that it didn’t choke you or make you any more uncomfortable than you already were. Rubbing your eyes, you noticed that you were in a completely unknown place to you, but that didn’t worry you. A yawn was heard trying to be stifled from beside you, and you turned over to look at the driver of the car.
Illuminated by the early morning sunrise was Kylo, whose eyes were focused on the road ahead almost with some kind of reckless ambition, despite his fatigue. His angular features shone to you as you stared at him, taking in every part of the face of the man you loved. His eyes seemed golden because of the sun, which made him seem all the more magnificent in your eyes. However, despite all his physical beauty, you couldn’t help but notice the bags under his eyes.
“We should stop. You need rest,” you said, lying your hand over his. For a second he tensed, but then relaxed the longer the two of you shared touch. Then, after some period of silence but for the soft radio, he shook his head.
“After a few exits we will. I just… don’t feel completely comfortable stopping right now. Please…just bear with me,” he said, completely resigned. You nodded, rubbing your thumb comfortingly over the top of his hand before staring back at the road. The endless trees rushed past you in a dark green blur, the light of the early summer morning beginning to shine brighter. The straight highway littered with only a handful of cars this early in the morning put you in a trance. You thought about everything, from the unknown destination of which the two of you were heading to, to the events which put you on this highway, heading away from your family and friends.
The beginning of the summer had you feeling as youthful as ever, the freedom of having no responsibilities following you around was completely liberating. Even the prospect of staying home alone with your cat seemed glorious, if it meant you didn’t have to come to work tomorrow.
“So what are you planning to do this summer (y/n)? No kids for you to look over, so you’ve got absolutely nothing to do?” Poe said from behind you, quickening his pace to walk beside you as the two of you walked to the parking lot of the preschool. You shook your head, making sure all of your things stayed in your arms as the two of you walked to your parking spots, leaving behind the small town preschool the two of you worked in. The two of you were both preschool teachers who were both relieved to be met with the summer holiday, especially because of the lack of small children driving you insane.
“I don’t know. Sit around my apartment, drink some wine, the usual,” you said, trying to reach for the handle of the backdoor. Seeing your full hands, Poe reached over for you and opened the door, and you promptly placed your things in the back seat, while muttering out a quick thanks.
“What happened to your bag?” He asked as you stood up straight once more. You let out a groan at his question, thinking about the hell children that had ruined the bag you used to carry all your things.
“Oh, one of the boys got a hold of it for their little group. They thought it would be good for putting things outside in,” you said, running a hand through your hair, thinking about your poor bag in the laundry room.
“Oh no,” Poe said with a grimace. “Well, instead of doing your ‘usual,’ as you call it, why don’t you join me, Finn, and Rey? We’re heading into the city for a drink at that new bar that everyone’s raving about. How about it?”
Admittedly, it had been a long time since you’d gone out with all your friends, after all preschoolers were a handful, and you’d never had quite the same amount of energy as Poe. You couldn’t help but want to join them. After all, you lived a lonely life. What was one night out with your friends?
“Alright, but if Finn and Rey want to start making out, then I’m leaving,” you said with a smile. Poe smiled back, his boyish grin lighting up his face.
“Great! Are you gonna drive there alone or do you want me to pick you up?” He asked as he watched you get settled into the driver’s seat of your car. You scrunched up your face as you thought. Did you really want to drive into the city alone?
“No, I’ll just ride along with you. That way one of us can be the DD,” you said with a smirk. Poe returned the gesture before closing the car door for you. After starting the car, you rolled the window down.
“How does eight sound?”
“Great actually! I have to feed Frey and he won’t eat if I leave,” you said, picturing your giant fluffy brown cat waiting patiently for you to arrive home. “I’m sure you’ve got to feed BB-8 too.” Poe rubbed the back of his neck before smiling.
“Yeah, I do, I’m guilty. Alright, eight it is, see you then (y/n)!” He waved a final goodbye before walking over to his car. With a sigh and smile, you looked forward, changing the gear to be set in reverse before backing out of your parking spot and heading home.
You lived in a very mediocre apartment complex at the end of the small town that you had always felt the slightest bit of trapped in. You had grown up here with your friends Rey and Poe, and now you and Poe both worked at the same preschool that you’d gone to as children. It was frustrating to you, thinking about your everyday mundane life, coming home every day to your cat and otherwise empty apartment. When you were in high school you’d dreamed of leaving this town behind and moving off to the city, but after you were done with college, you found the first job open to you, which unfortunately in the place you wanted to be the least. However, that feeling of being trapped made you all the more excited for tonight. It would be a great way to start off the summer, spending time with your friends at the new bar in a city you would have dreamed to live in.
With a sigh, you pushed some of your stray hairs out of your face before turning off the ignition and stepping out of the car. You weren’t even going to bother with your things tonight, you were so done with the school year. You didn’t even teach at an actual school, but taking care of preschoolers had completely worn you out, especially since they were giddy with excitement to start the summer holidays. Walking up the stairs that took you to your apartment, you noticed your neighbor was sitting outside again, like the benign grandmother that she is.
“Hey Maz,” you said with a warm smile as you reached the top of the steps. The small old woman smiled back at you in that grandmotherly way that made you feel safe.
“Hey (y/n), how was the last day?” She inquired. You let out a small groan and shook your head.
“It could not have come sooner. I think I might have to find a new job, Maz. I love kids, but I don’t think I can handle this anymore. Also, I didn’t go to school for a degree in education to teach preschoolers. And I’m not even teaching them anything! It’s basically glorified daycare!” You let out as Maz laughed.
“Try to find a job in the city. I’m sure they’ll want you for more than just glorified daycare,” she said with a wink. You shook your head again, a small grin shaping your lips. In your dreams, (y/n).
“That’s too expensive for me, but it would be nice. Anyways, I’ve got to feed Frey ‘cause I’m going out later. See ya!” You said with a wave before turning to your door and unlocking it. Maz waved back as you disappeared into the small apartment. Almost immediately, you were greeted by a large and fluffy brown tabby, his green eyes looking at you expectantly as he let out a loud meow.
“Good to see you too buddy,” you said, leaning down to scratch the top of his head. The cat purred in delight before deciding that he was more hungry rather than wanting to be pet. With a sigh, you watched as he sauntered towards the kitchen, as if he was expecting you to follow. Shaking your head, you stepped into the kitchen, opening the cabinet where you kept the cat food.
After placing the food in Frey’s bowl, you leaned against the kitchen counter, looking around your slightly bleak apartment. It made you think about Maz’s idea, and how appealing it seemed to you compared to the way you were living now. A change of scenery would be great compared to living in the dull town where nothing ever happened and everyone knew your business. Even looking out of your window was incredibly bland. Letting out a huff, you ran your hands through your (y/h/c) hair, wanting nothing more than to leave this town behind.
Eight o’clock could not take longer for you, and as the hours droned on, you found yourself going a little stir crazy. It didn’t really surprise you, funnily enough, that you were being this way. After all, you were always so tired after work that normally your only social interactions were between Maz and your cat. Not even bathing could take your mind off the incessant need to do something, and now you were lying on your couch, staring at your phone, waiting for Poe to arrive. As you watched the time on your phone turn to eight, there was a knock on your door.
Always on time.
With that you stood, readjusting your shirt from where it had ridden up when you lied on the couch. Frey, who was rubbing against your legs, let out a loud meow, causing you to smile down at him.
“At least I know someone’s waiting for me,” you said to the cat before scratching the top of his head and then heading out. You opened the door and smiled at Poe, who had his hands stuffed in the pockets of his favorite jacket.
“You ready?” he said, looking up at you. You studied him for a second, noticing that his curly hair looked as if he tried to slick it back but failed miserably, and nodded. The two of you made your way down the rickety metal steps of your apartment complex and headed into the parking lot where Poe’s car awaited.
The Imperial Bar and Lounge had been raved about in all sorts of reviews, from food critics to the hottest place for young people to hang out. The outside of the bar seemed formidable to you, a sleek two-story building made of white brick, and the purple neon sign lighting up the doorway underneath it. The bottom floor was a simple bar, like any, tables scattered around in their minimalistic design, but it still had the same ambience as the club that awaited on the top floor.
“How about we skip the bar and head up to the top?” Poe said with a smirk, causing you to shove him lightly.
“I thought we were just going out for drinks, Poe. Besides, none of us look club ready,” you said, panning the group, the only well-dressed one in the group being Poe, besides his token jacket. You thought this might have been a compelling argument, especially since you didn’t think that you were mentally prepared enough to go up to the club on the second floor. Just by looking through the windows, you could tell it was packed more so than the bare beneath it. However, much to your discontent, Rey bounced in excitement at Poe’s idea.
“Everyone’s told me it’s a great club! C’mon, let’s go!” Rey grabbed onto Finn’s arm, who readily followed her, and Poe looked to you with a smile before the two of you followed your friends.
Once upstairs and in the club, the atmosphere became hectic, or at least to you. Soon, you and Poe had lost Finn and Rey, who disappeared into the crowd of people dancing. You rolled your eyes as you looked around for them. For you and Poe, this was an extremely common occurrence, and so in your mind you thought that continuing the normal chain of events was best. Looking towards Poe and locking eyes with him, you knew you were both thinking the same thing. The bar. Fighting your way through the crowd of dancing people, you headed towards the sleek bar that was illuminated by the same ultraviolet light as the sign outside hanging above it. Behind the bar was a tall blonde woman, her friendly yet sharp features seeming to draw you in as you sat on the stool right in front of her after making your way through the crowd.
“What can I get ya?” She asked, leaning against the bar on her elbow, empty glass in her hand.
“I’ll just get a frozen mango margarita, thanks,” you said, looking to Poe, who’d just sat down. The bartender turned to face him, waiting for him to order a drink.
“You’ve got Negra Modelo?” he asked, facing forward. The bartender nodded.
“I’ll get those for ya. My name is Phasma, if you need anything.” You smiled at her as she left to prepare your drinks before turning back to Poe.
“Beer? That’s it?” You asked as Poe, who was looking at his phone, looked up at you.
“Yeah, I’m just gonna have one, I’ll be the DD tonight,” he said with a smirk. Like always, Poe knew exactly what you had needed, and you definitely needed to be a little tipsy. You smiled back before turning around in the stool to face the crowd, leaning against the bar for support on your elbows. As you looked around, you noticed a rather odd sight ahead. In what you assumed to be the VIP booth, which was tucked away in the furthest corner of the dark room, was a redheaded man, dressed in all black head to toe, his expression serious and his body tense. On either side of him were people dressed in the same manner, with the same expressions on their face, as they spoke to the man across from them, who was dressed in business attire. However, what caught your attention most was the man standing outside the booth.
He was tall, intimidatingly so, and was dressed in black like the others, except not the exact same attire. While the others seemed to be in what looked like suits- from the angle, you couldn’t quite tell- this man was dressed in a black coat and what looked to be black jeans. You couldn’t look away from him no matter what you tried. You were very much entranced by his entire being from the leather gloves on his rather large hands to the stark paleness of his angular face. He looked to be very stern, seeming like a no bullshit kinda guy. You noticed that he was scanning the area like some kind of bird of prey, watching the crowd for any signs of disturbance, and in his pathway was you, causing the two of you to lock eyes.
Though you were embarrassed that he caught you staring, for reasons you couldn’t quite understand you kept on staring back at him. He quirked a brow before he seemed to be called by the redhead in the booth. Sighing, you turned around to see that your drink had arrived, and that the bartender Phasma was standing in front of you.
“Checking out Hux and his henchmen? Not a lot of people notice them in that dim corner,” she remarked as you took the straw for your drink into your mouth, taking in the sweet mango flavor. You nodded in response to her question before looking back up at her, her blue eyes boring into you.
“Who is he?” You asked, looking over your shoulder to see. The tall man and the business man had disappeared but the redhead, Hux you assumed, and his “henchmen” as Phasma had called them were still there.
“He owns the place. A lot of rumors go around about him, but he’s not as scary as he seems. No, his designated bodyguard Ren is the scary one,” she said as you turned back around to face her. You looked over at Poe, who shrugged in response.
“Seems a little uptight,” he added to the conversation, and both you and Phasma nodded in agreement.
“He is but he’s alright most days,” Phasma said before standing up straight. “I’ll be right back, let me serve these guys over here.”
You looked over at Poe, who seemed to be scanning the crowd.
“They’ve been lost again,” you said wistfully, thinking about Rey and Finn. Poe simply nodded before standing up.
“I’m gonna try and find them.” Shortly afterwards, he disappeared into the crowd of people dancing. You simply continued to sip on your drink while your eyes shifted around the room with the intent of finding your friends. However, soon you felt a presence behind you, and then a figure slid into the stool next to you where Poe previously sat as Phasma approached you again.
“Hello Ren. The usual?” Phasma asked the figure beside you. You turned your head to see the man you had been staring at earlier. From up close, his facial features were more severe, and you could also see the freckles and beauty marks that littered his face. You turned away quickly before he could cath you staring at him…again.
“Yeah,” he stated shortly, resting his elbows against the bar in almost the same manner as you. You were amazed at how much room he took up, and how muscular he was. From far away, it was hard to tell how large his arms were, especially against the dark background of which he was standing in front of, but now that he was sitting next to you, you could tell that he was probably strong enough to crush you.
You looked back at Phasma, who had prepared a shot glass and was now pouring silver tequila into it. After the glass seemed almost brimming, she slid it to Ren, who took the shot almost immediately before turning to you.
His eyes seemed to bore into you, like he was looking for an answer he couldn’t say out loud, and their almost golden color had you in awe. You were amazed at how this man was both intimidating yet oddly handsome in his own unconventional way.
“Is this your first time at the Imperial?” He asked you, his baritone voice coming off as very warm.
“Yeah, I don’t really come to the city much,” you answered after gathering your thoughts. Maybe the margarita was starting to get to you, but you were having a hard time stringing the right words together. However, he simply nodded in response, looking down at the shot glass that had been refilled. You could tell he wasn’t much of a conversation person.
In the time that you had waited for Poe, Finn, and Rey, you joined Ren in his shots of tequila, and were definitely beginning to feel the effects. Soon, the barrier that separated Ren into being a stranger had been completely torn down, and you were sharing things you would later regret to have shared.
“I mean, kids are all well and great, but some of them suck! Their parents are already teaching them that the world basically belongs to them and it’s annoying!” You said after probably your sixth shot. Ren, who seemed completely unmoved by the copious amounts of tequila he had already had, simply watched you, and nodded in agreement. Phasma, from behind the bar, was trying to stifle her laughter.
“I just want a new job away from that stupid small town, is that so much to ask? I’m sick of these preschool kids who cry when anything goes wrong.” Letting out a huff, you held your shot glass up for it to be refilled but a large hand covered the top of the glass before Phasma could pour you another shot.
“I think she’s had enough, Phasma,” Ren said, looking up at the blonde. She let out a soft chuckle while nodding, and then went to go tend to other customers sitting at the opposite end of the bar.
“What kind of name is Ren anyways?” you blurted out, unable to put any kind of filter on your words. There was a brief second of anxiety where you wondered if your question would offend him, but the daze put on by the alcohol quickly covered that up.
“It’s my last name. My first name is Kylo,” he responded, turning to face you better. You noted how long his legs were, because he had one of his feet propped up on one of the bars on the stool, which made his knee go higher than his hips.
“That’s still an odd name. Kylo Ren. Sounds like something from a fantasy novel,” you remarked, looking him up and down, trying to examine his body language, but failing miserably in your drunken state. It looked as if he was going to open his mouth again, but he stopped himself the same moment you felt a hand on your shoulder, causing you to turn around.
“Poe! You left me!” You exclaimed, bringing your friend into a big hug. Though he looked confused, Poe played along and patted your back comfortingly.
“Time to go (y/n). You’ve had a bit too much to drink,” Poe said, pulling you off the bar stool. Though you didn’t notice it, Poe gave Ren a small glance, some indiscernible emotion hiding behind his eyes before he ushered you away. From a short distance away, you could see Finn and Rey, who were watching Poe help you off the stool before rushing to your aid. Together, the three of them got you out of the top floor of the Imperial Bar and Lounge, but you couldn’t help but look back at Kylo Ren, who was still sitting at the bar. You could’ve sworn you saw a smirk on his face, and you also could’ve sworn that he was also shaking his head.
When you’d gotten back to your apartment, Poe helped you in and settled you into bed, being the perfect friend he was. However, as you sobered up, your mind wandered into more somber thoughts.
“Poe, do you ever think about leaving?” You asked as he started leaving the room. To him, this was indicating your sobering up, but he was sure you were still the slightest of tipsy, so he decided to humor you.
“Sometimes. I like it here though. Nice people, nice environment.” He replied before turning off the overhead light. “Goodnight (y/n).”
Once you knew he was gone, you flipped over, greeted by the extraordinary fluff of your cat. However, you didn’t care, your mind was still on Poe’s reply, and how it practically haunted you. With another sigh, followed quickly by a yawn, you curled up underneath the blankets.
Of course you’d think that, Poe.

Part One: Chapter Thirteen - Drama in the club
JULY 2007
Evelyn took her polaroid camera out and took a picture of the dresses. Her summer line was different than her spring line. Instead of the pastel colours that were colours she had used for her Spring 2007 line -- she used neon bright colours. It was different.
She was making a boho-chic Summer 2007 line with neon colours. One of them including a neon pink denim miniskirt.
Bits and bobs were scattered along her crystal clear desk in the open room. Fairy lights strewn one wall on the opposite end, their candlelight offering a nice quiet light although it had no purpose for the day time. It was mainly for looks as they often used that wall as a back drop to take pictures to post to the website.
She had taken around eighteen pictures with her pastel polaroid, setting it down on the desk. Pictures were scattered, some slanted, some straight. Sketches of ideas for their Fall line were scattered messily across the desk as her fashion designer, Mary-Kate, had already left for the day.
Evelyn had so much fun creating this line in particular with Mary-Kate , Antoine and her other workers with the full vibrancy of colours. One might say they were like bright neon coloured highlighters that one would wear but Evelyn would have to disagree.
"Hey there," her sisters cheery voice spoke up as she jumped slightly.
"Bloody hell, you scared me."
"Sorry," she laughed. "Thought you might want to join me for a lunch break? I don't have to go to my class until two."
"Count me in," she laughed grabbing her Chanel black purse and her sunglasses, turning the lights off in the office.
The two sisters left her building as they got in Vivienne's car and left to a little café that they often ate lunch or brunch at sometimes with each other; other times with their mum. It was on the corner of one of their favourite streets called Melrose Café. It was painted in a tiffany blue colour that reminded Evelyn of Breakfast at Tiffany's and held a wall of roses and carnations littering the store front door as they walked in. You had the option of eating inside or out. They often ate out as most of the time when they ate here in London, it was mostly sunny. Whenever it was rainy or cold they ate elsewhere.
The two had ordered their food as Evelyn ordered creamy lemon chicken with garlic along with a fruit salad whereas Vivienne had ordered a panini sandwich.
"How were your classes at uni?" Evelyn asked her sister after taking a bite of her food.
"Pretty well, actually. I've just completed my classes for the year. I'm set to graduate this Fall."
Vivienne had always known she wanted to be a midwife since the twins were born. When she held her nephews Samuel and David, seeing the joy on Mia's face and the loving look that her brother Jake displayed for his girlfriend, nothing in Vivienne's mind could compare to that.
She worked really hard for the position in which she was in for King's College London. Always having a fascination with babies and the birth aspect, wanting to make the expected mum to be feel at ease and feel as though in some way she contributed to the mum's birth experience. She hadn't had any children of her own--but there was some part of her that wanted to understand what the couple were going through and she felt as though that were through midwifery.
Being in her second year she was almost finished as she only had one more year to go, thankfully.
"That's so great, congratulations!" Evelyn told her younger sister with a big smile on her face, happy for her successes. "Well, you know mum and dad will be absolutely chuffed about the news and will want to throw you a big party."
"I know," she rolled her eyes, not liking the fact of a graduation party.
"Don't even think about trying to get out of it," Evelyn warned pointing her hand at her which happened to be the same hand that held her fork. "Mum won't let you get out of it this time."
***
Evelyn saw an unknown number flash on the screen of her mobile. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion and wearily answered it.
"Hello, whose this?" she asked timidly at first.
"Hi, Evelyn," an excited woman's voice spoke through her mobile's speaker. "It's Eugenie, William's cousin. We met at the concert."
She let out a sigh of relief as she was just about to hang up on the poor woman thinking that she was someone else.
"Oh yes, I remember you. How're you?"
"Quite well, thanks. Well you see, he sort of, er- asked us to take care of you; especially with him being away and all."
"Of course he did," she said with a sigh. "Look, I promise I'm all right. You don't have to do me any favours out of pity."
Evelyn was never one to make friends for that reason. She didn't want someone to be friends with her because they felt like they had to or should. She wanted to make friends with someone because they wanted to.
"Am not doing it out of pity, I swear. Look--come out tonight. It'll be fun! It's me, Bea, and a few of our friends. No boys are allowed."
Evelyn thought about this for a few moments longer.
"All right. I'm in."
"Great! We will pick you up at nine. It'll be a late night so hopefully you aren't going into work tomorrow."
Evelyn laughed and told Eugenie her address asking if it was okay if Vivienne came out. The two girls hung up.
"Viv!" she shouted for her sister not knowing where she was.
"Yeah?" she popped up from the other room.
"Get dressed! We. . . are going out tonight!"
***
Vivienne was happy to see her older sister happy and in good spirits for a change. She knew that with William gone again, it was hard on Evelyn and not being able to be with him. She also knew most of it was because of her work. She always felt like she had to put work above others. Part of that reason was because she was the owner, so she always felt as though she needed to be there.
They were dancing to the techno music that was blaring through the club. Evelyn was dressed in a glittery short dark blue dress as she pumped her fists to the music and danced along, swaying her hips.
A little tired from dancing, she goes and sits in the booth that Eugenie reserved for them all and joined her sister and Beatrice.
"You looked like you were enjoying yourself out there," Beatrice commented to the blonde.
"Oh yeah, thanks for having us. It's been a real good time. Have you been to this club before?"
"A few. Y'know there's been a blonde looking at you for a few moments. Do you know her?"
"Hm? Where?" She asked as she took glances out towards the sea of people.
"Right over there," Beatrice nodded her head in the opposite direction of where Blair was.
It looked as though she were there with Liam as well and some other people that were friends of Liam. Evelyn rolled her eyes.
"That's Blair and my ex Liam. Ignore them."
As soon as those words left her mouth she saw Blair's eyes widen with shock and her mouth wide open as she had been spotted. Spilling her drink instantly into Liam's lap as he quickly stood up, yelling at her quite heavily. Blair then got up and tried to help clean off the mess and whispered something in his ear as she looked at Evelyn again making him look in her direction as well. He started yelling at her and Beatrice seemed put off by him, glad that Evelyn wasn't with him anymore and could see why he was now an ex.
Williams name flashed on her screen under the name 'Steven' seeing as he wanted to keep it private whenever he talked to his girlfriend or friends. That was the name he had chosen to not be obvious.
"Hello" she asked covering her other ear as she yelled over the loud music.
"Eve?" he asked louder. "Where're you?"
"I-I'm at the club with your cousins. Hang on a bit, would you?"
She tried going outside as she kept her mobile to her other ear all the while hearing nasty things yelled at her by Liam as Blair giggled at all them.
"Wills?" she asked more quieter. "How've you been?"
There weren't as many people outside, thank God. She didn't have to raise her voice as loud as she did inside. She didn't have people she didn't know dancing around her and her friends. She didn't have to deal with Liam and Blair outside either.
"I wish I was there to protect you," he said having heard from his Pa about the ludicrous things that were written about her.
When he had first spoken to his Pa, his Pa wasn't going to mention it all. But then William had asked him to and he couldn't not tell him. Prince Charles hadn't met the young girl yet but he was sure he would soon. He had known the Bennett family were very respectable and to hear all the shameful things being said about his son's girlfriend was truly upsetting.
"Protect?"
"I can't hear you," he said as his voice got static and more shouts were heard over the phone.
"Wills?" she asked talking a little louder as she was away from the scene.
The connection ended and she yelled in frustration.
"Damnit," she said upset.
She hadn't been able to speak to William hardly at all since he had left, now the one day he called she was out clubbing.
***
When Evelyn and Vivienne arrived back at their apartment, slightly tipsy as Vivienne was more drunk, Evelyn was sad that she missed her phone call with William. She hadn't spoken to him in three weeks and this was the first time he called. Who knew when he would again? Vivienne was having trouble walking, swaying from side-to-side as she giggled over nothing.
"What's got you so pissy?" Viv asked her sister.
"Nothing," she snapped.
"Oh, I know," she replied raising her hand as if she were back in primary school waiting to answer a question. "Is it because of Wills?" she asked as she slurred the 's.'
"Alright I think that's enough for you for one night," Evelyn told her as she helped carry her slightly to her room as she wrapped Vivienne's one arm around her shoulder and put hers around Vivienne's waist. "Let's go you."
"You know what was hilarious?" Vivienne laughed louder this time as she whispered it to her sister as though she didn't want others to know.
"What?"
"When Blair spilt her drink on Liam shocked that you were there!"
The two women laughed as Evelyn shook her head. She had to admit that was funny. It was as though she weren't expecting to ever see Evelyn again and if she were--she certainly hadn't expected to see her happy.
"Your right there. Did you see the look on his face when she did that? And then when he saw she was looking at me."
Evelyn had just helped change her younger sister out of her dress and get her ready for bed when she could hear her mobile ringing as she hurried to the living room where she left her clutch on the couch along with her mobile.
"William?" she asked excitedly. "I wasn't expecting to hear from you again tonight."
"I know, I wasn't really either," he let out a laugh she sighed in the comfort of his deep, caring voice. "But we had some time off, which was rare. How was your night? I want to hear all about it."
"You really don't," she sighed again, this time an exhausted one. "It wasn't really a good night."
"What happened? What did you do?"
"Well all right, as you know from earlier I was at the club with your cousins Eugenie and Beatrice as well as my sister. We were having a fun night and then I somehow spotted Liam and Blair."
"Liam and Blair were there?" He asked shocked.
"Yeah, unfortunately. I think Blair was just as shocked at first to see me because she spilt her drink on Liam. I don't know if they're together still but they were having a good time yelling things at me. Anyway, I'd rather forget that bit of the night. How has the last three weeks been for you? I feel like its been ages since we last talked..."
"I know," he groaned in annoyance that he didn't have the freedom to call her whenever he pleased. "I'm sorry 'bout that. It's been hard. We're doing really tough training right now and I just got in from flying."
She knew even just from listening Eric talk that the exercises the military had them do were tough. She could never imagine having to do half the work they do but she was grateful for them.
"Well, that's unfortunate that Liam and Blair had to be there," he told her over the mobile. "But I hope that the rest of your night went well and you had a good time?"
"I did," she nodded her head even though he couldn't see. "Your cousins are great fun. I'm sorry that you've had a tough last few weeks though. I wish you could get a break every now and then."
"It's all right," he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm able to do what I love helping people all while also being a member of the Royal family. I meant what I said earlier y'know."
"What?"
"I wish I was there to protect you."
"Who told you?"
If she had it her way she wouldn't have told him all the lies and intrusion the tabloids were doing to her just because she was now "friends" with William to the public. If it were bad now she wondered what it would be like once the world found out they were actually dating now.
"Oh Wills, who told you?" she frowned.
"My Pa. Don't blame him either--I asked him to keep an eye on things whilst I was away."
She felt her heart flutter at those words. When things got bad in her relationship with Liam with the tabloids he wouldn't do or say anything to her to try and calm her down. He would act as though there weren't nasty words being printed about her. Of course, now was nothing like then but she still had her share of the nasty tabloids.
"Will, I promise I'm okay. And I made a promise to you that I would talk to you and communicate with you whenever I'm not--but right now is not one of those times that I'm not feeling okay. I'm happy. Can we be happy together, yeah?"
It was right then and there how William found out how strong his girl was. He hadn't read the tabloids as he mostly avoided them at all costs but he had asked his Pa to keep an eye on things. To make sure nothing got too out of hand and when it did he knew he would do something. What? He wasn't sure. But he knew that Evelyn was right. That no matter how much hate or how many lies were told about her--she would be okay.

Update
Hey guys! Alex here, so I've been very MIA these past few weeks. I'm really sorry. I haven't been able to write or anything. I'm on this new medication that has me practically staying up all night and sleeping the whole day. My asks are filled with people asking me if I'm okay, and what's been happening to me, so I decided to mush it all together in one really long post. I am not okay. I am broken beyond repair to be honest. I feel like there's nothing left to salvage from who I was. So recently, I was called toxic because I wasn't as happy as I could have been. Having depression and being treated like that is absolute shit. Let me just say. And in reply to this person I used to consider my best friend, I took a leap and tried to be the smaller person and explained to him how I was feeling and how it would feel if he were to be in my body. It all felt like it was my fault, I don't have enough understanding of my mind and how it works when you have this disorder in your brain, but I guess that's how I describe it. A disorder. This guy who I considered the world to me and I also considered my best friend called me toxic in a petty response when I asked him if he had any problems with me, he answered that he did and that apparently, I laughed at him during class (which I honestly don't remember, but like is also really fucking shallow to call someone out on and ignore and isolate that person) and in my last ditch effort to save the little sanity I had from actually trying to off myself, I told him about my thoughts, I'd been having them for weeks on end and it felt like I was being engulfed by them, I never wanted to get out of bed, and my concentration went for shit, it was terrible and I didn't want to talk to anyone but my closest friends and even then I tried to speak to them as normally as I could. I left him a message detailing how I've been experiencing everything, and everything going through my head. He left me on read. He left me on seen. When my brother found me, I was bleeding out and my mouth was foaming, I never told any of my classmates about why I didn't go to class for nearly a week. I begged my mom not to tell my dad and my sister, and she didn't. I continued to be isolated from my classmates because he was an outgoing person who kept choosing to interact with the people I started to hang around because I couldn't really hang out with them anymore. To be honest, I have never felt lonelier than I did those last two weeks of my Junior year in college, blaming someone for wanting to kill yourself never usually runs through your head, but all I was thinking was just that, how could this one fucking person make me want to kill myself? How could he make me hate myself so much that I actually believed that I didn't deserve to live? Every night I was crying, and I was a self harmer, I was going on 2 months clean until that happened, which caused a relapse. I felt like I had a fucking disease. One day, I come to class, my wrists are all bandaged up from the stint in the hospital and everyone's staring at me. They look at my wrists all bandaged, and start to whisper. Apparently what happened was my mom asked my other close friend if I was doing okay, and told her everything that I did to myself. She thought my former friend who called me toxic would be worried so she told him. He told the whole class about how I hurt myself and tried to kill myself. I was being treated like a disease, but with this new information, I was being treated like a fucking plague, they'd hide cutters from me and scissors and they'd stay rows and seats away from me, leaving me isolated. At one point just as I walked into class and took my seat, he goes running out and "sobs" in the hallway, this just makes everyone else attack me asking me what I did to him, why I made him cry. He wasn't the one being treated for severe depression, he wasn't the one being whispered about, he wasn't the one who had to pay hundreds of dollars just so some therapist would listen to him talk about his feelings, he wasn't the one everyone was avoiding, so please tell me how he became the victim and I became the bad guy, I feel like being with this kind of brain with these emotions, it's just a huge fucking toll on me you know? Like those people can say all this shit about me and how weird I am or how I must be pretending to be this way, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't wish this sickness on any one of them, that's how emotionally and mentally draining it is. It's like dying but having to keep moving even when you feel like there's nothing for you in the end of the line. I pushed through until the end of the year, but I felt like a freak. Come summer, my sister says to me that my former guy friend messaged her with a different account. Please be reminded that she had no idea what was going on with me. She gave me a vague answer, telling me that all he said was that I ws depressed, but her eyes were red and puffy, so I took that as a sign that she'd been crying. That night, she leaves her account open, I find the message, and once I read it, I realize he told her everything. He told her everything that I wasn't ready to tell her. He told her everything that should have been coming from me and said that he didn't reply to me because he was busy studying. I don't know how to describe it, it felt like my whole world was crumbling in front of my very eyes, the one place I didn't feel like a freak, that one place where nobody treated me like I belonged in a mental institution, he ruined it for me too. The next day, I notice all the knives are hidden away. I don't know if I've ever felt so betrayed before. I felt like I was at fault again, but let me just say, when you have depression, and you tell yourself over and over that it's all your fault. It isn't okay? I swear to you that it isn't. Don't ever tell yourself that it is. To the shit people who make people like us feel this way, you guys should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. Learn to like take fucking responsibility instead of blaming things on other factors. "I was too busy fucking studying to realize she was going to fucking kill herself or to read one of her messages that was clearly reaching out for help", THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE, that is you shaking the blame off of yourself and clearing your conscience on something that was on you. It may be human nature to find ways to blame others but acting on it is all on you. I just want to say this to him though; "Fuck you. Fuck you for making me hate myself. Fuck you for thinking you're better than everybody else, fuck you because you blamed everything on me. Fuck you because you played the victim on my sister and even asked her to pass the message onto my mother, fuck you because you ruined my life you fucking asshole. I hope you're fucking happy that you ruined what used to be your best friend's life. I hope I never have to see again after graduation, you're fucking dead to me." Please offer your insights too. I really need advice and having no friends, I don't really have anyone to run to but you guys. I love you guys! And I swear m newest update will be up when I start feeling even the tiniest bit better. I'm really sorry if I disappointed anybody.

Oh my god! What the hell's going on over there that would make them want to come here?? Three people came here, one kinda by accident sure but like... Really? We are a sweet ass tribe but like... Really? It's like someone from London moving to come ' little town ' with only 7000 people there. Something doesn't fit. I don't like it.
RTP
Ok so we won the challenge which was awesome. I was the only one on my tribe not going to the labyrinth so fuck me eh. i feel pretty good with my ol boys alliance of matt david me and owen. hopefully we can stick it out for a while
then two people quit from odysseus and im like yasssss more ppl gone....and then there is a mutiny. i wanted to mutiny so bad just for the drama, but no one else from my tribe wanted to do it and im not gonna be the dumbass that mutinies by myself...nuh uh..... and then three people from olympus ended up on odysseus...haha omg wtf...im shocked trevor went to lydia and not to me and owen...hmm....im sus of that so now we have this reward challenge...and i make a totally normal comment like...oh hey maybe the people competing should have good survivor knowledge since the challenge is ya know...guessing survivor contestants...and duncan is like YOU DONT NEED TO KNOW SURVIVOR TO WIN THIS....like hun....drink some chamomile and take a chill pill....no technically you dont...but it sure as hell makes it easier....i guess duncan is my first target on this tribe if we lose again....whatever...bye
ROB
Yikes I doubt I made one last round. I'm basically going to rely on my Bangladesh people. I love Logan and Eddie, so they're the perfect people to work with. I like Colin too, I just need to talk to him more. Two people quit and there was a mutiny offer afterwards. Three people from my tribe mutinied when we were literally dominating challenges, sort of. We hadn't lost yet. Trevor, Sam, and Isaac were people I was wary of, so I know that I can't trust them at all since they're obviously not wanting to work with me. I know I'm not talking much, but still. Reward is basically going to rely on me since Logan and Colin aren't well-versed in Survivor and Eddie is MIA. Rip me. If we lose immunity, I feel like Colin will be the person leaving. He's literally the odd man out. Don't know if he knows it. Hopefully, at least, and in my mind. Sorry Colin. I'm screwed.
COLIN
I think I've written more confessionals for the first three rounds of this game than I did for all of PI: Malibu. Oops. But anyway.... that mutiny WHEW. Fuck those guys huh. We went from the ONLY tribe with all 7 members to......... 4 members. I knew Trevor was leaving and I lowkey had a feeling Sam and Isaac MIGHT but still for them all three to leave is such a kick in the face. That alliance between me, Logan, and Trevor lasted not even 24 hours. Not even ONE DAY yall. Hopefully we can slay these next two immunities so we don't have to go to tribal, because that would honestly suck. At least Logan and I have half the vote so that makes me feel a little bit safer, but still without majority and with the possibility of a rock draw/fire making challenge (idk how it would work if it ties) this could be devastating to my game. Anyway, thanks Trevor, you fucked over the person who trusted you the most.
ROB
Hosts are furious.
Immunity went well, bless. At least I hope so.
COLIN THIS IS MY OFFICIAL APPLICATION TO JOIN THE LOGAN FAN CLUB.
Y'all don't even know how much I love Logan. Like I am so glad I got put on a tribe with them and actually got kinda close with them. They're such a sweetheart and so easy to talk to. They are WINNING this season KNOW that. Literally my entire tribe is so cute and sweet now?? Now that the uglies and traitors have left we're all cute and adorable. God I really just hope we don't have to go to tribal at all before the swap. If I have to vote anyone on this tribe I'll cry.
ROB I think I've become the leader of the tribe. I don't want to be, but Eddie is barely here and I don't think Logan and Colin would step up to do challenges and stuff. I like everyone in the tribe and I don't want to lose these immunity challenges. The mutineers will be the first to die. Lying sucks, I'm not positive if I said yet if Sam told me he was NOT going to mutiny.
RTP
Ok so heres a pre-immunity results confessional. so my Ye Ol' Boys Club alliance is going pretty well. it doesnt seem like we are gonna be best friends but we all know its good for numbers and after that first tribal we trust each other. so that seems good for now. and knowing that we are swapping in two rounds is keeping us all from doing anything shady so that when we swap we dont have to worry about each other turning on us. that being said.... in our foursome i feel like i naturally get along with owen the best...hes the easiest for me to talk to...granted i feel pretty comfortable with all three of them....but matt just gave me some tea about the labyrinth and told me that he wasnt telling owen or david. now i have known matt for a long time and i was there for his matt fucking summers days....but i know matt has grown and thats not how he plays anymore but that reputation will never go away...there is a trick to keeping matt on your side....treat him with respect and trust what he says....if youve been friendly and honest with him he will do the same to you...and the second you question or belittle him youre as good as shit because he is already plotting your demise...hmm...treat someone with respect what a concept huh. not only that, but this makes me feel like i have a good #1 ally with matt and a good #1 ally with david. as much as i love owen i know damn well hell turn on me before trevor...and i wouldnt hold that against him...hes a good ally for numbers rn...and it helps in case i swap with trevor and can stick with him too....but i feel more secure knowing i have david and matt on my side and they are closer with me than with owen....i dont really wanna lose...but voting duncan out rn would feel pretty good...hes made some snarky comments to me a couple of times and thats really my biggest criteria for wanting people out....you sass me you get my vote
LOGAN
anyway i wanna die but yay! no loss, and im safe one more round. prayin they vote off trevor. i dont trust you.
ROB
Rob: is there an edgic? Jay: yes Rob: thanks Then I better get positive tone this episode
COLIN
OMG YES WE DID THAT. ok why am I saying we. ROB DID THAT. HE TRULY DID. MY DAD MY KING MY ICON LOVE HIM. Omg I'm so happy we don't have to go to tribal. Now we just gotta survive ONE MORE ROUND before the swap, I'm sure we can pull it off. Wish us luck <3 <3
ALI
The plan for tonight is Crow... I feel like all is going to plan, as far as I know everyone has told me they're voting Crow, bar Ryan (whose told other members of my alliance that he is) and Scott the Silent. I just lied to Crow, and feel bad, but he seems too dangerous... Also, my alliance is now me, JD, Trevor and Lydia, but I'm also close to Isaac and Sam. I feel super in control for now... I for some reason get the impression I'm about to be idoled out, but c'est la vie

ALI
I'm super nervous for tonight. Its like 'Baby's First Blindside'- its very exciting! Anywho, I love my 'The Leal Jousewives of Atlanta' alliance (Trevor,JD,Lydia and I) and I'd hate to be idoled out, when I'm lined up so well! :(
CROW
Ugh, I have a gut feeling that it's probably me tonight, but I have been told otherwise.......lesson learned: don't try and play two games at once xD I am voting for Scott because I know he's the person most likely (behind me) to get targeted/exiled from the tribe. My strategy (although it may look like I don't have one) was to test out the "Anybody but me" strategy, but it doesn't look too good right now... Maybe I'm just paranoid and it'll be 8-1 against Scott, but I have a feeling there's scheming going on that will likely result in my elimination. If I survive this, I pray there's a tribe swap so I can effectively redo my social game LOL, if not, well.....I'll just have to scrap along!
