Engagement rings headcanons

Was scrolling through the engagement rings with my friendo the other day, and they dared me to choose individual rings for everyone in mm, so here's the result of that silly dare. I know we technically already know about this from the 'mysterious confesson' merch we got, but this was still a very fun exercise to do. These are just my headcanons, and were made solely for fun, don't take my thoughts on this too seriously! :D

Yoosung

Would go with something classy and romantic, probably a bit of vintage, too. He wants your engagement ring to reflect his love for you, which may lead him to become antsy and indecisive when picking one. He doesn't want it to be too expensive, or too cheap. It has to be just right. Poor guy even sketches out a clumsy 'prototype' he shows to the employees, as it's hard to relay his vision across with just words. In the end, he ends up either getting either a classic diamond ring with an infinity band (he thinks it's sweet to include a small detail of your appreciation to each other lasting forever, however cheesy that may sound) or something a bit more vintage and intricate in style. I don't think he would have any preferences concerning the color of metal, so he might go with a mix of white and yellow metal.

Zen

Would definitely go over the top - the man's a true romantic, you can't tell me he hasn't dreamed of his wedding at least a couple of times! He appreciates everything you've done for him, and he wants this ring to show it. He wants this ring to be everything you've ever dreamed of and so much more. Might struggle with high expectations he sets up for himself, which results in him just stressing himself out instead of enjoying the process like he's supposed to. You might have to have a talk with him about that. As for the ring itself, I think he'll go with something pink and soft in color! There's just something that's is so sweet and light whenever he looks at rose gold engagement rings, it makes him instantly think about you. That's when he knows it's the one. After all, pink is the color of romance!

Jaehee

Would get something custom-made, but still pretty traditional. She wants something that would catch your attention, but won't be an inconvenience to wear. She wouldn't stress out too much, and you two would probably agree on a design together, instead of her surprising you with something. You are her partner, and she wants your rings to reflect that. A delicate and easy design is her go-to. But, if you want something eye-catching, that's okay too, as long as it's not a bother to wear. I think she would go with platinum options when it comes to color. It's simple but very pretty to look at. Kind of like you :) She would also like to add custom engravings to your rings. Something to look at and smile as she twirls the ring around her finger. Either a cheesy coordinated phrase (probably out of your favorite musical that you two always quote to each other), or a date of your cafe's opening, as it's the start of her new life that she has managed to achieve thanks to your support.

Jumin

Would get something fancy, but not over the top. He desires fir your ring to not be too simple, as you are worth more than that. Still, he focuses more on the spiritual meaning of the ring rather than its cost. Money's not an issue to him either way, and he knows that you don't care about how expensive this ring will be. Regardless, he wants only the best for you, as you rightfully deserve. Jumin would go for traditional classic designs, as he finds them the most flattering to look at. Might also like boho-styled engagement rings. When it comes to the process of picking one, he won't overthink it too much. He wants the ring to be perfect, no doubt, but he's pretty cool-headed with his search. Might ask Elizabeth to pick out the best design if he's conflicted. With her intricate collection of collars, he knows she has a good sense of elegance. Would probably go for yellow gold variety when it comes to color, as it's the most classy one in his eyes.

Saeyoung

Would go with something simplistic but unique. I am like 70% sure he would create your engagement rings and wedding bands by hand. It just sounds like something Saeyoung would do. Poor guy would probably be the most stressed of all the others. He wants it to be perfect so badly, but he's also indecisive as hell. See, he's mostly non-traditional when it comes to his tastes, but he also really likes the classic styles of rings, not to mention that the idea of a classic traditional wedding makes him feel all emotional on the inside. This issue would probably persist throughout your entire wedding planning, and not just the creation of your engagement rings: he just can't decide which side to take for the life of him. In the end, he'll probably find the middle ground thanks to your help and encouragement. He's gonna let out the biggest sigh of relief once those rings are finally done. And probably cry right after, as he has never thought he would hold anything as precious as an engagement ring meant for his soulmate in his own hands. Would go with white gold for color.

Jihyun

Would go for something custom-made and simple, but still a bit unique in its presentation. I don't think he has much preference when it comes to style, so he's fine with anything you pick. He doesn't want it to be too ostentatious or expensive, however. He strikes me as someone who prefers more modest designs, even if he'd like to sprinkle some custom design choices. It'll depend on your relationship with him, and what makes it unique for you. He wants your rings to reflect that, more than anything else. He wouldn't be anxious while working on the design itself, occasionally asking for your input, as he wants these rings to be the representation of your shared love, not just his own. He might go a bit overboard and come up with a borderline silly-looking design initially, so it'd be best for you to keep him from getting too creative. Can't fault the man for getting carried away. He would probably go for yellow metal, as it reminds him of the sun.

GE Saeran

Would go for something simple, romantic, and vintage-styled. Saeran doesn't know much about the intricacies that go into picking out an engagement ring, so I can imagine he'd get pretty overwhelmed the first time he tries to research the topic on his own. You'll probably end up picking it out together, patiently discussing important details between yourselves. He knows he doesn't want it to be too fancy or eye-catching, and he knows he wants the ring to remind him of your smile whenever he looks at it. His criteria is pretty easy but sweet nonetheless. It's less about the details and more about his inner feelings. He would probably go for a floral-themed ring if he comes across one that catches his eye, but it's not definitive. He would also go for a colored gemstone, mostly because he likes it better that way. He loves the color pink, as it reminds him of the feeling your gentle love, so he will have a preference for rose gold rings, not doubt.

SE Saeran

Would go for something both unique but elegant. Now, Saeran is definitely not picky when it comes to engagement rings. He kind of feels out of his depth here. Still, it is very important to ask for his input and offer for him to pick out some options he likes, even just on a whim. You two will take your time during this process, as there is no need to rush, and he will get overwhelmed from time to time. It's best to take it one small step at a time, not rushing into anything too quickly. He needs to be reminded that he has nothing to worry about, as all that truly matters is your bond with one another. Saeyoung will probably be the one to make your engagement rings for you, as well as your wedding bands. Partially to not stress Saeran too much with all the shopping, as jewelry stores tend to be too bright for the eyes. It'll be a pretty unique and somewhat edgy design but with a touch of soft colors in the mix. Kind of like him.

Rika

Is the type to go over the top but, in reality, she would like something classic and simple. When she's in a good place both physically and mentally, she's very doting, and she's also a hopeless romantic. I'd say she's almost on par with Zen when it comes to her romantic fantasies, which is why she loves his musicals as much as she does. It can be a good thing, but it also makes her prone to perfectionism. She will pick out a very fancy ring that she thinks is good enough for someone as wonderful as you, but... she feels dissatisfied with the result, and that makes her anxious. Rika is a people pleaser, so she tends to make choices with someone else in mind, rather than trusting her own heart. You guys will have to talk about it. It's hard to understand what you like when you've lived your whole life masking as someone you're not. In the end, I think she would go for something simple and elegant, probably also combine the colors she associates with your love. Keep her in check, though, as we all know Rika's design skills are out of this world.

Vanderwood

Weirdly enough? Despite their seemingly simplistic nature, I think they would go for something very unique and even a little odd-looking. Vanderwood is a pretty laid-back person, but all these casual vibes go out the window once it comes down to design. They are very picky with anything that they own in their closet, and engagement rings are on another level completely. They wear leopard print for a reason! I think they would end up getting something custom-made, as it's the easiest way not to stress out over the perfect design. They are not so much nervous as they are choosy. Still, they do have a major soft spot for you, so it's up to you to stir them in the right direction. They would like you to be very involved in the process of deciding on a perfect engagement ring. The end result will still be weird, though. But, the amount of weirdness will depend solely on you. Whether to embrace the weirdness, or to add just a touch of it - it is your choice to make.

Jaehee's got a popular fan-account for Zen that nobody except Saeyoung knows about. This is to be expected, but, the silly part happens to be Zen's interacted with her account before because she's one of the most respectful fans and he's got no idea that it was Jaehee of all people! She's passionate and people can see that. She's got scathing essays for his defense that are annotated and dated so she can reference them later on.

Zen's got a collection of songs he uses just for his runs. It's exactly what you think it is. A cheesy work-out set of songs meant to make him feel like he's in a movie montage. Hey, it works, don't give him a silly look! It helps him feel inspired!

Yoosung has a collection of hair clips. He may not like being called cute by the other RFA members because it makes him feel like they think he's little kid, but he does enjoy feeling cute when it's a sincere compliment. He'll love it if you compliment his new hair clip! He's got so many of them... and the ones he wears at school are different than the ones he wears at home.

Jumin knows more memes than he lets on and he purposefully uses them in the chatroom to flabbergast the others. It's funny to him to see his friends stare at him in horror because they didn't realize he'd learned about that particular meme. Nobody will believe it, but that happens a lot.

Saeyoung is in the process of making trampoline shoes that can shoot you to the moon. It's impossible, but it's impressive that he found the motor to help him jump a few feet in the air. Think of the old Moon Shoes advertisement, but now imagine he's taken that idea twenty stories taller.

V's cactus collection has accessories. He gives them sunglasses and hats and charms. They've got names, too. Sometimes, he wishes he could be a better friend to others just as he's a good caretaker of his cacti. He vents to his plants a lot, too. I don't know if this is silly, but... it helps.

GE Saeran takes things at face value. If you tell him something he will assume you mean it literally until he double-checks the information. It matters to him because he wants to believe people when they try to teach him something important to them, but sometimes this means he ends up believing something that isn't true. But, he enjoys hearing these things, and marking them down on paper. Especially if it turns out they're superstitions or something special to you.

Rika loves arts and crafts. She loves scrap-booking most of all. She makes homemade cards for everyone because it feels like she's got something personal that speaks to her compassion for her friends. It is a mess of glitter, puffy paint, and stickers. Nobody has the heart to tell her that her artistic vision is a maximalist nightmare to clean up. But, she has fun.

Vanderwood is a hula-hoop champion and nobody will ever believe you if you tell them.

Hi! I just wanted to say I like your blog! I only know one language myself but I'm always fascinated by the process of translation and the things that get lost or changed.

I'm not a Jumin fan necessarily, and there are times during Jaehee's route where I would like to guillotine him, but I do think he's a good and compelling character with understandable flaws. The MysMes characters all have really well-done flaws that can make them more compelling if you like them, or make them seem like monsters if you don't.

I assume you're not getting to Jihyun's route for a good while, but I am curious about that. He's the only character that I feel completely flopped. The game's writing and design works against him from just about every angle, and I'm curious how much is different in the Korean.

To answer your first point, after playing through the game several times, I think the reason some characters are easier to hate in certain routes is bc some routes exacerbate their flaws more than in others. The game is super well designed in that aspect - it's like MC is adopting the POV of whoever love interest they choose. Jaehee's story puts her at odds with Jumin, and the game is trying to make it easier for you to agree with her, so of course Jumin's flaws will be brought to the frontline.

I think it's okay not to like Jumin. There is no one, irl and fictional, who is going to be loved by everyone. I just hate that 99% of the backlash he gets comes from mistranslations and a lot of hate posts about him just reek of ableism (no kidding, they sound the same as my ableist family members do when it comes to my autism) which is just shitty. I just want to set the record straight.

About Jihyun, playing his route in English is actually what pushed me to play the game in Korean at first. The amount of weird sentences I couldn't understand (first example that comes to mind is the first solo chat with Jihyun on Day 1 where the English translation says "so we've been holding parties as best as we could, with rewards such as the rewarding feeling" - like wtf does that even mean) completely threw me off. I just HAD to look up the Korean version. Eventually it led to me replaying Jumin's route in Korean and that's where it hit me how much was lost in translation. It's not always blatantly obvious but every little change adds up over time.

I will get to Jihyun's route eventually because I think it's the route that needs it the most, lol. But with my new job (well, it's not so new anymore since it's been a year but it's a different job from the one I had when I made this blog) it's difficult to find the time to work on this project, so it might take a while before that happens.

now <jumin3 one of my og unapproachable, dark haired faves who stuck out as my fave immediately the first time i played the game. and seeing as you’ve only played it once, i just gonna guess you didn’t play his route as you have to buy it with hourglasses SO LET ME INTRODUCE YOU

he is… something. veeeery business oriented, being the heir of C&R, which he takes seriously (to a fault i’d say, but i’m gonna help him relax 🙂‍↕️)

imagine all the stereotypes of the archetypes of my faves: antisocial, unapproachable, seemingly always feeling down, sarcastic (!!! this man is so funny, but he isn’t even aware). oh, and a devoted cat dad, which is how we like it

now, jaehee was the one who suggested they invite me to the RFA charity fundraiser — i do administrative work in a smaller, less known company. at the fundraiser tho, we don’t talk much really at first until he witnesses me snap at zen (im not a fan) which he finds amusing. after that we engage in some general small talk that eventually leads to an agreement where we can see it profitable to cooperate on some projects.

both of us have a tendency to take on quite a lot, so we end up working overtime — meaning late evenings in the office 🫣.with time, things just grow a little… comfortable? i think that’s the right word to describe it. the conversations stray a little from business every now and then

however, it takes some time before we both realise. and it wasn’t one who fell before the other. it was a very sudden and unison experience. at a company party, it kind of just hits us at the same time (to quote tfios, suddenly then all at once)

i am sure his middle name is ‘efficiency’, because at that party he asks if i would like to join him for dinner an evening, not work related… just the two of us — but man is too dense to realise that is what we call a date

anyways… he doesn’t spare a dime. takes me to the finest restaurant in the city, everything already planned and all expenses paid. and it’s one hell of an evening, i’ll tell you that. jumin han is nothing if not a gentleman. however, even though we were both quite smitten at this point, i think what really sealed the deal for him was the fact that i straight up told him “as nice as this all is, i don’t need it. the luxury, the money, the expensive dinners.” i think this is very unexpected to him, but he appreciates it — it’s just the way he has been used to doing things yk

all in all, he is secretly a really soft guy who just needs a little loving yk — which i’ll happily do

To MC, around the corner meant “Oh, see that corner? Around that and you’ll be there.”

Yeah, no. 707 expected her to walk a mile for chips. She did it though, with a pout on her face she marched into the quaint shop and grabbed Honey Buddha Chips, Dr. Pepper and a random chocolate bar she saw. Though, when she reached the cashier she was polite and kind; just because she’s grumpy doesn’t mean she is rude to customer service workers.

Once she finally got the chance to open the bag of chips on her- on Rika’s couch she realized that Jaehee was online.

MC hasn’t had a chance to talk to Jaehee as much as the others. She is the one member MC couldn’t get an initial feeling about. She seems like Jumin, just less of a prick.

MC: Hello, Jaehee.

JAEHEE: Hello, MC.

JAEHEE: I was just thinking about you.

MC: Me?

JAEHEE: Yes. Since you are at Rika’s apartment.

JAEHEE: And other than you, no one can go near that place.

JAEHEE: It is quite an irony.

JAEHEE: We who’ve worked with Rika cannot enter the place,

JAEHEE: and yet you who are a complete stranger can stay there…

JAEHEE: The apartment that you are in probably has all the documents relevant to what Rika did.

JAEHEE: If you fill Rika’s position.

JAEHEE: then maybe we will be able to host the parties again.

JAEHEE: What do you think?

MC: If I’m going to be honest, I haven’t had time to even think. This is all very surprising.

JAEHEE: I agree that it’s something to be carefully considered.

JAEHEE: Please take all the time you need to consider it.

I think it was high time we roasted Mysme (we still have trauma since 2016TM) by AI

Spoilers + read at own risk

Mystic Messenger: the only game where texting fictional men at 3 a.m. feels more like a hostage situation than a romance. Seriously, who designed a dating sim where missing a phone call from a cartoon boy means you're suddenly in the Bad Ending and your soul is forfeit?

And let’s talk about the characters:

707: The clown with trauma. He's quirky until he's crying, and now you're emotionally responsible for a hacking gremlin who lives off Honey Buddha Chips and memes.

Zen: If narcissism were an Olympic sport, this man would win gold, silver, and bronze—then write a musical about it and cast himself in every role.

Jumin Han: A walking red flag in a three-piece suit. He thinks love means locking you in a penthouse with a cat named Elizabeth the Third and no exit. Corporate Stockholm Syndrome, anyone?

Yoosung: Baby boy, baby. The type to fail a class in real life because he was too busy simping in LOLOL. Sweet, but definitely needs therapy and a reality check.

Jaehee: The one sane person in this circus—and even she ends up quitting her job for a coffee shop dream fueled by caffeine and your questionable support.

And let’s not forget the app: you open it for love, and end up scheduling your entire existence around fictional chatrooms. It's not a game—it's a lifestyle. And not necessarily a healthy one.

Another Story: Because the original Mystic Messenger wasn’t emotionally devastating enough, Cheritz said, “Let’s crank the trauma up to 100 and toss in a terrorist organization.” Suddenly you’re not dating quirky boys—you’re defusing bombs with your thumbs and crying over a morally gray tech cult.

The Characters:

Saeran: Ah yes, Edgelord Extraordinaire. He’s what happens when you mix abandonment issues, ice cream, and villain origin story energy into one tragically hot mess. One minute he’s threatening your life, the next he’s begging for affection like a puppy that’s also a weapon. Romantic? No. Relatable? Unfortunately.

Rika: The spiritual guide of gaslighting. She starts a cult in the name of peace, ruins everyone’s life, and somehow still looks like a sad anime waifu with glowy eyes. Her entire existence is a TED Talk on how not to heal from trauma.

V (Jihyun): Human art gallery. The man’s life is a watercolor painting of red flags and cryptic metaphors. He’s blind—literally and emotionally—and makes it everyone else's problem. Stop speaking in riddles, V. This is a dating sim, not Inception.

Ray: Because Saeran wasn’t confusing enough, here’s his softboy alter ego. Ray is like the cotton candy version of a fever dream—sweet, delusional, and guaranteed to dissolve under pressure. You try to save him, and the game punishes you for trying to care.

The Plot:

You wanted romance, but what you got was espionage, hacking, childhood trauma, emotional manipulation, a floral death cult, and a deep-seated fear of butterfly motifs. If this is “Another Story,” I want Another Refund. (XD)

I can't believe I actually didn't realize that. I mean, I did it. Like 7 years ago, but I had no clue on how to explain it.

Besides it needs from Mystic Messenger Timeline *which I'm still working on, and trying to finish* to actually make sense.

Disclaimer: Please take into account that whatever I say here, it's only my opinion after playing the game so many years. I'm not a psychiatrist or a psychologist, or therapist of any kind. I'm just a writer, who loves to spend time analysing characters and stories.

I did asked to my mom to help me with this and the other characters because of how difficult the task ahead of me was. My mom, who is an actual therapist, did her best to help me, but I did most of the analysis here, since I'm the one who knows the in's and outs of this game. Should I talk to you about the dark side of the flowers and tie it to MM characters?? Anyways, Rika is a narcissistic. But also has a profound trauma. One doesn't exclude the other. Here's a quote from Mayo Clinic:

They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence, they are not sure of their self-worth and are easily upset by the slightest criticism.»

Causes: The cause is likely complex. Narcissistic personality disorder may be linked to:

Environment — parent-child relationships with either too much adoration or too much criticism that don't match the child's actual experiences and achievements.

There are other two, that are genetic, and neurobiology causes, but I'll be focusing more on the environment, which let's be honest, it's what is displayed on the game. If you're interested on reading more about it, there's a link before the quote and, on References, I'll also be leaving every single link.

So let's go back to Rika and please read the next three images while remembering how's her relationship with V, and Saeran. Sometimes even with MC, and Mika.

Grooming:

Here's the part that keeps bothering me because I realized about it before I could actually explain what it was going on. Seven years ago I decided to play the game, and I finished feeling a bit too weird on how everyone was so infatuated with Rika... it wasn't any other person that just dies and then the group dies too. It was still active two years after losing her (?) Even though they have only know each other for... 4 to 6 years?

Some even less. Like Jaehee. Which randomly brings me to: She's an ENFJ so she does focus on details like Jaehee (Jaehee might be ISFJ, ISTJ or even ESFJ considering how well she manages around people too. But that's another story.) Her enneagram is probably 1.

I can understand Yoosung, but... you know what I mean. It was weird. And once I reached the first VN novel about V and Rika I felt even more weirded out by these two.

I don't think I can pinpoint it but I felt like Rika was manipulating V so I was surprised when I realized some members were tying these two as lovers and a beautiful couple. Do you guys remember V being surprised by Rika quoting "The Sun is the mother of all"?? Yeah... Even back then, for me it was a highlight of how messed up their relationship was. But again, I couldn't exactly pinpoint it. Until, now.

After Cheritz released Another Story, and Rika DLC, many of my theories came true. But still in a disorganized way. Which is why I created The Mystic Messenger Timeline.

I did confirmed one thing:

Rika is a narcissist and V is a people pleaser (that doesn't make him any less villainous of what he is, but I'll explain once we'll reach his profile. I promise.) at least at the very beginning of this story.

She probably has psychopatic tendencies

She definitely has sadistic and abusive tendencies: I have a hard time putting through her whole behavior during Saeran's Route and especially during his AE. But she takes pleasure in hurting others. V, Saeran, MC, Mint Eye associates, etc.

A bit of One on the Enneagram:

It is called The Reformer.

Because Ones have a “sense of mission” that leads them to want to improve the world in various ways, using whatever degree of influence they have. They strive to overcome adversity—particularly moral adversity—so that the human spirit can shine through and make a difference. They strive after “higher values,” even at the cost of great personal sacrifice.

If you think I'm too far off, then please check the levels of healthy and unhealthy Ones can have. They sure ring a bit too much for me on Rika's behavior. From Level 1 to 9, we can see her evolution during the game. But here you have a couple of her worse traits.

Unhealthy Levels

Level 7: Can be highly dogmatic, self-righteous, intolerant, and inflexible. Begin dealing in absolutes: they alone know "The Truth." Everyone else is wrong: very severe in judgments, while rationalizing own actions.

Level 8: Become obsessive about imperfection and the wrongdoing of others, although they may fall into contradictory actions, hypocritically doing the opposite of what they preach.

Level 9: Become condemnatory toward others, punitive and cruel to rid themselves of wrongdoers. Severe depressions, nervous breakdowns, and suicide attempts are likely. Generally corresponds to the Obsessive-Compulsive and Depressive personality disorders

So, why do you (player) like Rika as character?

Because it's okay, I know people who actually like Rika. I don't, but I definitely don't hate her either...

You don't need to be worried about it as long as you know what she did was wrong. That's it. Now, why do you like her/identify with her?

Things that might, or not, ring a bell:

* Trauma: Rika has a traumatic past. And you might feel like it's a mirror of your past. Hence identifying with it might not be something difficult. Of course this doesn't mean you are leader of some religious cult.

* Her willingness to fight despite having everything at odds. Let's not forget that before she goes nuts and starts brainwashing people, she did a lot of great deeds. Tried to stay positive and all that.

* Her kindness (we can discuss over certain things, but as much as she did terrible things, she also did amazing things, like creating the RFA to help people. Wether she did it with a certain master plan in mind or not, she did helped as much as she hurt and that's the important part.)

* She's just a great villain! It might be hard to understand for some people but you actually just look at her character as what it is, a character, and you're impressed by how many discussions and hot debates she brings onto the table. Understandable!

* Her flower means forgiveness♡

Might not be the last but I do need to finish with the Mystic Messenger Timeline, and I will but I don't think I have a lot more material to write about. There is a comfortable silence in the car on the ride back home after tonight’s RFA charity party. It's already late, the streets are dark, and the car feels like a world of its own. Your hand is in Jumin's, resting on the middle seat. His eyes are on you, that much you can feel, though you're taking your time to meet his gaze. There's an intensity there, the product of the post-party buzz and the wine that had been passed around. You can't imagine what he's thinking about, but you don’t expect you’ll have to wait long to find out. He is always talkative after events, especially if they went well.

You haven't spoken since greeting Driver Kim. You’re still processing the events of the night. All the guests you greeted, so many new people you had been talking to for months through emails. The hall, glittering and magical, the music filling the room and boosting everyone’s energy. The high donation numbers, the pride in Jaehee’s voice as she thanked everyone for their generous support. Jumin leading you in a dance around the dance floor, elegant and practiced in his movements. All your friends, together in one place, in a good mood and enjoying each other’s company.

You watch the city slip past your window for a little while, before turning your attention to Jumin. You know how much he enjoys the RFA party days. He has been kept busy with planning for weeks leading up to the event, so you know he must be pleased that it all worked out so well.

“It went well tonight, didn’t it?” You ask.

“It did. I’m very pleased with how it all turned out,” he replies, and you can hear the smile in his voice. “You were stunning tonight, darling. You really outdid yourself.” You can't make out his expression properly, but the passing lights outside make his dark eyes glimmer. There is deep affection in is voice.

“I couldn't have done it without you all there to help me,” you reply. “You worked so hard to help our visions come to life. Not to mention all the guests who were invited at your recommendation.”

“And yet, in that hall, you were all everyone could look at and talk about. It was an honor just to be by your side.”

You feel the heat rush to your face. If he senses you getting flustered, he doesn’t let on, he still has more to say.

“You have no idea how proud you make me. To think that you came to us by chance just a few years ago and you're now guiding us to new heights,” he muses.

Jumin has never hidden his feelings for you, but he has also never been one to believe in empty praise. You know he means every word, and that only makes your heart swell more.

You lean over to him to kiss his cheek.

“It sounds like the party has made you sentimental, love.”

He chuckles, “maybe it has, but I mean every word I’m saying. The RFA is lucky to have you and I am luckier still.”

“That makes me the luckiest of us all, doesn’t it?” You reply.

And after a night like tonight, you really believe it.

Thank you for your previous work. I was wondering if you could write a headcanon of RFA (excluding Saeyoung, as you have already done him) and Saeran with MC. In this scenario, chaos follows MC everywhere without any logical reason, but REMINER IT DOESN'T HARM MC, ONLY THE PEOPLE AROUND HER. This ability also runs in her family, so if they have a gathering, chaos happens without fail. Additionally, I have a funny scenario in mind where Saeran kidnaps MC to Mint Eye, and as a result, chaos ensues, but MC casually escapes. I search Kofuku and I see some similarities but the idea of MC having this "ability" is actually come from an Disney Show called Milo Murphy's Law

Yoosung

I feel like the poor guy will get rather spooked by this strange ability of yours. He's already prone to getting into some very embarrassing situations without any external force pulling the strings. Do you mean to tell him that he'll have to deal with even more disasters in his daily college life!? It's more humorous than serious, though. He may act a bit startled by it at first, but he's definitely the type to get very curious despite his initial reservations. It baffles him how such a thing could actually happen in reality, and not in fiction. Is it appropriate for him to call you a superhero...? He'll also probably want to try and use this ability of yours for his advantage. Not anything bad... But, hey, maybe, just maybe... you could make his professor miss his bus today? He has no desire whatsoever to study for the philosophy test tomorrow morning.

Zen

Zen is able to take it all in stride. He won't be shocked by this revelation of yours, as he has a few unique abilities himself. It's actually kind of exciting for him to meet someone in a somewhat similar situation to his own. Though, your little quirk is far more chaotic than he would expect. It's a good thing he has supernatural healing powers and prophetic dreams on his side! He will be able to avoid most adversity coming his way, and, even if he does get injured, he will probably be strutting down the street without a fuss after a day or two. He'll also be very fussy about you not blaming yourself for anything. He actually finds your bad luck kind of cute! At any rate, that's what he asserts to you.

Jaehee

To put it simply, she is stumped. Since she's the most logical person in the group, she'll have trouble believing you at first. Not until she encounters the undeniable proof of your ability with her own two eyes. Out of everyone in the RFA, having bad luck following this poor overworked woman will probably make you feel especially bad for her. Much like Yoosung, she'll get rather spooked once she accepts it as reality. I could see her beginning to steer clear of you even. She's already so incredibly stressed... the last thing she needs is even more trouble on her hands. She does mellow out once she sees that you are a genuinely good person, though. She'll even apologize to you for acting rashly with you. It's possible that you and Jaehee could find ways to overcome this cursed quirk of yours.

Jumin

Without a doubt, the most enthralled among all. You might think he'll be the most skeptical one of the bunch, but no. This is a man who has a huge infatuation with the occult we're talking about here. Once he sees actual tangible proof, you have a real annoying observer on your hands. Will ask you dozens and dozens of questions, do his own research in his free time, maybe even ask you to provide him some of your blood samples or something. With your consent, of course. It may become too much to handle for you. But, what you don't need to worry about is Jumin avoiding you or treating you as a threat. He makes it a point to let you know that he will not judge your character based on factors that are out of your control. With his resources, you might even come to learn more about your abilities!

Saeran

He'll be anxious. Much like his brother, but in a more subdued manner. I feel like your constant bad luck would be one of the factors that pushed Ray into choosing you, believe it or not. He can relate to bad things happening around you, while all you can do is watch helplessly. He will also take the effects of your bad luck in stride. Almost to a fault. You'll have to remind him to please take care of himself and not put himself in harm's way because of you. Suit Saeran, on the other hand, will curse you and your ability. He'll definitely think that you are doing it on purpose. That you want him to suffer. He'll ensure that you understand your position beneath him. He hates the feeling of losing control, and that's exactly what drives him mad about you and your stupid bad luck that he can't control, no matter how hard he tries. He will apologize to you for blaming it all on you, though. You can expect him to tell you that he has come to the realization that you had no intention of harming him, and that you possess a good heart. A heart that is too great for someone as dark and rotten as he is. GE Saeran will be way more balanced about it all. It'll take you two some time to figure it out, with him not putting too much pressure on himself, and you not worrying too much about harming him. Maybe you could develop a working system between you two that will help you keep disasters to a minimum, while also having a reliable plan for any accidents that may inevitably occur.

MysticTober Day 6 - I Knew Him.

Summary: Zen gets a new role!

Author's Notes: I think this is the first time that I've ever properly encapsulated the way Zen flirts with everyone. I'm happy with it. These short-form writings for MysticTober always leave me wondering if I've done a good enough job, but not this time. :3

Zen was ecstatic. Overjoyed. He’d just gotten the best news of his entire career, and he couldn’t wait to share it with everyone once he got home. He was practically prancing down the street when he caught sight of a seasonal section in the convenience store he was passing and ducked inside.

They didn’t have much, but there on the shelf in front of him was a plastic skull. Smaller than life-sized, but still perfect for holding in his hand and practicing to, like a partner for his lines. On impulse, he purchased it (along with a bottle of water, the smart kind with a sport top - he was celebrating, after all) and returned to his walk.

Every so often, he’d hold the skull out like he was going to do a soliloquy and then laugh. Once, he even proclaimed “Ah, Jumin. I knew him, Yoosung.” As if he were talking to one of his friends about another of them, intentionally replacing the names of characters with the members of his charity group.

It was after that moment, receiving a number of strange looks from other pedestrians, that Zen started to question why he’d even bought the silly skull. Why he’d done anything that wasn’t going directly home and starting to work on his lines. Shakespeare was no joke, even if it was one of the plays everyone seemed to know just enough about to have an opinion. At least it meant that the rest of the RFA would be sufficiently proud of him for landing this role.

Of course, thinking about his friends seemed to have summoned one of them with his luck and seasonal impulsivity. Jaehee stood down the street from him, coffee in one hand and a bemused look on her face.

“Zen, what in the world are you carrying?” She asked as she approached, her bemused look tempering into her usual calm smile.

“I’m celebrating!” He crowed, dancing around her like the idiot he definitely felt like in that moment. “Here, a gift for the lady.” He held the skull out to her and she took it in confusion. Of course any gift from Zen was something to be kept and cherished and displayed, but she would at least like to understand the meaning of the gesture, he was sure.

And so, he told her.

“I just got word from the director. I got the role. I’ll be starring as Hamlet this winter, Miss Jaehee.” He grinned, and bowed to her with a flourish.

“Shakespeare?!” She was stunned, but she looked like she just won the lottery.

“The very same.” He said, rattling off information about the planned dates and his co-stars and the big downtown theatre they’d be performing in. He’d really done it. He’d made it. His dream role, and it was his. “Promise me you’ll come.” He said, his eyes locking onto hers. “It wouldn’t be a dream come true without you, Jaehee.”

She blushed bright red, but nodded. He didn’t know what he would do without his number one fan, and now he didn’t have to. He’d get her tickets front and center so that she could appreciate his talent and beauty from the best possible place.

He snatched up her free hand and pulled his mask down to place a kiss against the back of it before turning to head down the street. “I’ll see you later!” He called, even as he heard the whispers of people having recognized him start to creep up. He knew better than to show his face, but it was worth it, to make Jaehee that kind of happy.

Jaehee Kang Has Entered the Chatroom 707: It’s Jaehee! Yoosung★: Hi Jaehee! Jaehee Kang: I just got the best news. 707: Did Zen get a new role? Yoosung★: Jaehee Kang: He did! Jaehee Kang: HAMLET. 707: No shit. Yoosung★: Language! Jumin Han has entered the chatroom Yoosung★: Jumin! 707: Zen did it, he landed Hamlet. Jumin Han: What, as the gravedigger? Horatio? How...well will the RFA react to stretchmarks in the chest area? I'm starting to get them and it's making me super conscious;;;

Jaehee understands firsthand what you're feeling. Woman never hear the end of it when it comes to beauty standards, and unfortunately, it never gets easier as you make your way through life. Standards shift and what's "beautiful" changes with the times, so it's better not to sit back and believe you're never going to good enough when things can change at the flip of a hat. Jaehee has learned it's better not to allow yourself to become so worked up at a standard that destroys people, look away from it, and learn how to embrace yourself instead. You're beautiful just the way you are, but she also intimately knows even by choosing that, you're still going to have bad days.

Any particular flaw you see in yourself is something you can talk to her about. She'll know where you're coming from. She certainly is in a similar place when it comes to appearance, given how Jumin pushed her to change her looks to avoid attention from Chairman Han. In trying to protect her from his father, he still ended up making her feel low about her appearance. It’s not Jaehee who needed to change. It's Chairman Han. Don't feel bad about your stretch marks, it's a mark of time, and those marks are a sign that you're living life and getting to grow older with each passing day.

There is beauty in accepting those spots that come with age. If you want to do something about them to feel better, that's fine, but Jaehee won't tell you to change yourself to fit some standard. She did that for her job, and it never made her feel any better.

Yoosung gets down on his appearance sometimes... especially when he looks at Jumin or Zen. They seem to have everything he doesn't in the looks department, and it's hard not to compare himself even if he knows better. He couldn't blame you for feeling insecure when he has that fear all the time. He's seen beauty campaigns that are targeted at people who are insecure, but they don't always make him feel any better, and he imagines he might be the same for you. What can he do to make you feel better when you frown at your reflection?

You're beautiful, and he never hesitates to place his hands on your body when you gleefully tell him you want to be touched. He's the clumsiest when it comes to comforting another person, but he makes up for it in his honesty.

He might stumble over his words in trying to reassure you, but it's the fact that he tries and he means every word he says that makes it better. You talk about the things you're both insecure about together, and in doing so, feel far more confident in confessing what haunts you. He'll kiss those marks and you'll brush away his tears.

Zen knows what the beauty standard can do to someone. He's been harassed, touched, provoked, and worse his entire life because he's what people consider to be good-looking. Nobody ever respected his sense of autonomy, and it made him fearful of being close to others for the longest time, even though he had dreams of being someone who could sign as brilliantly as a star. He's seen what the industry is capable of, too. He knows how easily someone can tear down others because of a "perceived flaw" built on some nonsense idea of what's "perfect."

By God, he never wants you to hate your body because of what other people say about it... not even what you may say about your body in a daze of self-contempt. You don't have to change yourself to be loved by others, and you don't have to be afraid of having your body shift and change with time, because that's what it's meant to do.

If anyone in the tabloids dared to speak about you, he'd make sure they'd pay for it. He doesn't care about what people say about him anymore, but you? No way. It's okay to be insecure, but he doesn't want to see that shame eat you alive. You're beautiful, and these spots show that you've lived as you were meant to. Everyone gets lines, wrinkles, or what have you, and you deserve to feel good when you look in a mirror. Here comes the compliments juxtaposed with kisses.

Jumin understands insecurities. He's got some himself but most would never believe that given his stance in life. That's one of the many reasons why he doesn't talk about how he's feeling. He's well aware that he has privilege in life and many people don't. But, this makes him discount his feelings and experience when they should never be belittled in the first place. He just thinks his problems are less important than someone who isn't as fortunate as he is. That's something he has to work on.

Sigh. But, he knows where you're coming from when you struggle to confess that you have a poor image of yourself. He doesn't think of you any differently than he did before. He'll explain that it's normal and even expected to have stretchmarks at some point in your life, but there's no reason to feel bad about them when it's an experience you won't go through alone. That's his logical mind at work, so you'll have to nudge him when he's thinking too factually instead of within the realm of emotion.

He means well, that's how he comforts himself, after all. But if he can do anything to help you feel better? He'll listen. That's the one thing about him I admire. He listens when he's not doing something the best way for another person, and he'll keep trying until he gets it right for you. Even if he doesn't know what to say, you don't need to worry too hard, he will absolutely open his arms so you can cry into them for a little while. Sometimes, that's all you need.

Saeyoung has had his own struggles with his body image, you know. He looks like his father, and that's its own can of worms that he does not like to think about. His only comfort is that he and Saeran share a face as well, so it doesn't always feel as bad. It doesn't stop his fear of becoming his father someday, but it does ease his mind. So, if you've got a look on your face that says you're terrified about something, he knows that feeling all too well. He just hates that something got into your head and made you feel like you were ugly because of a natural occurrence.

Saeyoung views signs of aging as a blessing, you know? When he looks at you and he sees that you've been able to live your life this far, he smiles because it means he's been able to make it this far, too. He never thought he'd make it this long, and here he is, aging with you a little bit every day, and he's going his own marks and blemishes that'll never go away. He's okay with that, but he knows this is different for you. You don't need him to tell you to ignore the sting, you need him to hold and remind you you're lovely with or without stretchmarks. It doesn't change how he sees you, after all.

Do you want to cover those spots to feel better? Or, do you feel like you need to cover them so people don't judge you? He's willing to do whatever he can to help you feel better, so once he knows how you're feeling and what's the route cause, he's quick on his feet to help you boost that confidence. He'll show off his body without fear if that'll help you in any way, you know!
