The first thing Fourteen says to Donna when she walks in the kitchen Christmas morning is “What?” with the most confused expression he can make. He proceeds to answer everything she says with “What?” in increasing levels of shock. She doesn’t catch on until she sees how hard he’s trying to hide a shit-eating grin.

Their first conversation was, after all, mostly them yelling “What?” “The what?” back and forth at each other for three minutes. And that’s what they turn half of their conversations into for the rest of the day.
