some vibes that i absolutely think need to be explored in a dnd thread (bc baldur's gate 3 has the lot of us CAUGHT!)

first, characters sitting by the campfire. cooking a nice meal with the supplies they've gathered along the way. maybe they use a very highly sought-after ration as a treat after a long day, like cream or fresh meat or a spice of some sort. they sit around the blaze together, and tell stories of their earlier travels, adding ingredients to the meal and fuel to the fire, and bonding as they discuss what's next in their shared adventure.

i also love the potential of them walking together along a long, winding country road! maybe they pick some flowers idly, or for each other, or maybe they find herbs or vegetables or fruits to add to their supplies. maybe they overhear footsteps up ahead and have to decide between keeping to the path or rushing into the nearby stream to avoid being seen or smelled. perhaps they have a horse, or two horses, or even a carriage, or maybe they're just walking along together. they could discuss what's next in a journey, or their choices from earlier encounters. if we think of roads as liminal spaces, this is an opportunity for many things to be happening, from a fallen tree blocking the road, to the road forking at a junction in the woods, or enemies/allies travelling along the same path, or even a side quest of sorts awaiting them in the woods!

character A meets character B when they're wounded and unconscious, and brings them back to their camp, either out of fear of what might happen if they don't, or for concern for B, or maybe they recognize them from somewhere! they nurse them back to health, and have to fend off attacks along the way because B is too weak to retaliate, and ultimately it leads to a curious bond where neither are willing to separate from the other, but they also don't know nearly enough about each other to understand what makes them trust each other so much.

the last one for this post: the two characters have travelled a long way. they're tired and weary, battered and bruised from past battles, and they find themselves in a merry kingdom that welcomes them heartily to a party, where they get to eat and rest and bathe and dress in finery and attend a ball together. and this may sound romantically leaning, but i also think it works in a platonic sense or a parental sense, because i think the concept of watching someone you've grown to care about finally laugh and smile and enjoy themselves after a long, brutal journey, is smth that would make many people very happy. and they get pulled to their feet for a dance, and this night of levity and merriment, as beautiful as it is, still inspires a transformation in the journey. perhaps the more experienced or worn-out of the two decides to slip away in the middle of the night, leaving a letter that begs the other to stay where they're happy and safe and allow them to finish the journey alone. or maybe they're about to leave but the other character intercepts. like there's so many outcomes for this one besties!!

So I had a thought in relation to this.

Give me the season 8 opener (or opening arc, similar to TK in the s3 start of LS). Tommy gets hurt. When he finally wakes up and/or Evan gets to him, he tells Tommy “you promised to teach me how to fly/Muay Thai, and I’m holding you to it”

And then scattered throughout the season obvs we get hints to these. Things are going well. They’re getting closer. Falling in love. Etc.

End of the season rolls around, and Evan gets hurt, and it’s a lot worse than Tommy’s injury was. Tommy’s an absolute mess because they’re supposed to be moving in together, he’s planning this whole life for them (he knows Evan is too), things are so good for them. Like sure, they’ve had it rough this year but they’ve survived all the bumps and scrapes, but this one…

Then we get the inevitable wake-up, and Tommy is relieved if not a little bit on edge. And Evan, who's used to people leaving, who still kinda expects Tommy to leave, even though they've said 'I love you' and they've moved in together now, and he's given up the loft, is like "why'd you stay?"

And we just get a little deadpan of "you still owe me that beer".

Bonus points if the beer comes with the marriage proposal in season 9.

ok ok ok you know what fucking hits though? a prince(ss) x their bodyguard who is also a childhood friend/has always been around and they fight and bicker like siblings EXCEPT for this deep devotion they both have to each other and they assume it's just duty based bc the bodyguard has dedicated their life to protecting them !!! and the prince(ss) sees the bodyguard as ~ theirs ~ but it's all just covering up deep-seeded love for each other and one or both of them is too stupid to see it :' )

1. boss & secretary secret affair 2. married man hooking up with a younger girl and their relationship develops into something more, but he refuses to get a divorce because of his reputation. 3. brother's best friend fooling around with the younger sister. 4. angry make-up sex. 5. modern romeo & juliet. rivaling families with big and successful businesses set in ny or london, forbidden love affair. 6. parents adjusting to having a new born. making time for each other, having sex after the baby arrived, a seductive nanny perhaps?

these nights / muse a & b have a deep connection, nothing like either of them have before. they only want each other, only have yearning for each other. they are both known to move too fast in past relationships but their connection is driving them to move faster than they want to, feel like they have no other choice but to go all in. no matter how much either of them want to slow things down, try to slow things down, it's like their connection is what controls them and it's a struggle of trying to keep away for long enough to not let their connection consume them. strange land / muse a is lost, can't seem to find themselves after a breakup. muse b was their home, their centre. nothing feels right or comfortable anymore and it's hard watching life go past while they can't seem to settle. muse a keeps going back to muse b time after time, despite muse b trying to move on, because muse a feels like they can only be themselves with the other. it's hard to see anything other than their relationship. muse b wants to pull away but sees how much muse a is struggling without a constant, which is them. it's hard for either of them to navigate their break up and find themselves back together way too much. need is your love / muse a and muse b had a one night stand. muse a keeps running back to muse b for 'just one more night' but has become addicted to the connection they have with the other. a constant cycle of another night to break contact and come running back in a couple of weeks because muse a can't find anyone like muse b and they don't want to admit they have feelings. tequila sunrise / muse a knows that they are no good for muse b, that the relationship is toxic but they're so in love with the other person that they cannot walk away. they try to go nights without arguing but it all ends up coming back to the same point. they say that each time will be different, that they will be the best version of themselves, but it's a toxic cycle. muse b loves muse a but there's only so much toxicity that they can take.

plot idea: muse a is a pro athlete from a small town and their whole childhood was their parents pushing them to be the best to play at a professional level. muse b was their high school relationship but low and behold graduation came around and when muse a got offered a professional contract they chose their sport over love because it's what they worked for their whole life. but hey its christmas break and they're back in town for a few days and they think theyre some hot big shot. give me hot steamy angst yes.

it's stardew valley style farm sim but xianxia (said by someone who never played stardew or farm sims this is guesswork lol)

anyway it's early access now but it will come out as a full game in Jan 2024! and I guess there is a possibility that the price will go up once it's a full game cuz that happens sometimes so if ur interested now is your chance hah (its on sale rn for 11,19€)

forever thinking about a professor castiel au: during office hours cas discovers the texts to what he thinks is the secrets to time travel. when his curiosity and further research tears the fabric of his verse and opens up the reality of parallel worlds(yes the multiverse lol); think of a ‘take on me’ twist where he’s literally pulled into the book and he unknowingly unleashes the supernatural into his world. in an effort to “protect” him the angels capture him claiming he’s a prophet of god. his doubt taps into them not telling him the full story and when the angels are overpowered by demons also seeking out this “prophet” it’s revealed he’s actually an archangel who had his memory slate wiped clean and his grace removed to keep him from remembering. remembering what he’s yet to figure out; but the key to figuring it out and save both universes lays in the decision to trust the demons(?) who revealed his true persona to him.

i don't think you understand just how badly i need reunion plots. tbh it doesn't matter if one of them has been presumed dead for however many years or if they simply parted ways years ago for whatever reason. i just need the angst and feels of finally meeting up again after such a long time apart, whether it was a mutual decision or not.

maybe one or even both of them have moved on with other people. maybe there's a child involved that one has no idea is theirs. maybe one has amnesia and doesn't even remember being with the other. the possibilities are pretty much endless, so just come and give me these threads already. please and thank you very much.

-"Forced proximity", Darkfang was ordered to attack and kill your muse by his current handler, but due to an explosion or an incident, they get trapped in a small cave/collapsed building or area. With the Snake's handler out of view, or due to potential injuries, he decides to disobey and not kill your muse cause he needs them to get out / survive.

-Darkfang has known your muse awhile (or your muse is decent enough), and they got the chip in the back of his neck cables removed. Aka, he's finally truly free.

-Your muse teaching him more glyphs to read and write, for easier communication. (Or if voice box gets fixed, then to speak but snek is stubborn and prefers to growl and hiss)

-He's somehow stuck in his snake alt mode. Either your muse thinks he's a regular cybersnake, or not. Either gonna help him or not. Snake has decided to follow your muse around cause he hungry / curious menace.

-Darkfang has been given to your muse, due to a deal, or your muse buys him for whatever use needed. (usually bought as a weapon for assassinations or extra force, or one simply wants to have his venom on use, in or out of the Snake's frame.)

-Post War times, where the facility Darkfang was kept between buyers got put down, and bots are trying to figure out what to do with him. Either trying to teach him how to get back into society or he simply has one person keeping an eye on him, cause they don't want a feral mech in the streets causing chaos.

-Pre-established times, where your muse knew Darkfang before the war and his lab times, and later on sees him again, completely changed to a different mech.
