Please stop adding more hate.
I support your rallying against antisemitism, but there is no need to mix that with unfair & vicious bashing of Christians.
Dear Fdelopera, asking for ending hate against 1 religious group while pushing for us to hate another does no good to anyone & only spreads more hate.
Antisemitism makes me sick, but adding more hate to a different group for wrongs of the past when they've clearly changed just - does no good.
Spreads more poison.
Also, you need to recheck your history, at least as far as WW2 goes.
I'll talk about that, then the Crusades, then some other comments.
1st, the way you explain it, someone could get the false impression that America & especially Christians were the only ones who stood by & did nothing, or never did anything, when they did, in fact, do a lot of good in WW2 & the Holocaust & after.
A lot of countries reacted poorly at first when Germany started invading Poland. And the U.S. wasn't the superpower it is today, just fyi.
To make a blanket statement that all American Christians, esp. politicians, did *nothing* to help the Jews is an obvious overstatement.
Also you seen to think all politicans were Christians, which I doubt is true. Also, it's highly likely some were hypocrites who didn't follow Christian doctrine. Just food for thought.
The truth is more complex, because Christians as a group, even purely in America, are very diverse. Christianity is a *worldwide* religion.
Yes, some were antisemitic. But some were not. And those who weren't did a lot of good.
Also note, neither group were the ones *actively killing* Jews & other minorities. That was the Nazis, who were either not religious or, at best, had a secret cult religion. Also used scientific biased evidence as an excuse for their atrocities. And nationalism.
And you're ignoring the European Christians who were very active in helping the Jews & stopping the autrosities, both during & after the war.
Just look at Corri Ten Boon, author of The Hiding Place, & everything she did after. Look at Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who died because he spoke out against the Nazis.
Check out Irene Sendler: Life in a Jar, a Polish Catholic who rescued 2 500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. Check out her story & others @
www.lowellmilkencenter.org
She's also found at the United States Holocust Memorial Museum website & The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous @ jfr.org
Also check out "Defying the Devil: Christian Clergy Who Saved Jews from the Holocaust" on the Kupfweberg Holocaust Center website.
Also implying that Christians today are the only ones telling Jews to "go back" is inaccurate. I doubt people who say that want the Holocaust to happen again, & if they do, they're hypocrites & monsters.
As for the Crusades -
Yes, it's a shameful part of Christian history, of Christians being obvious hypocrites & not acting like Christ. And Christians should acknowledge that & often do.
But to talk about it as if Christians were the only wrong doers isn't correct.
The Crusades were a series of wars. Messy, bloody, horrific wars fought for stupid reasons. Wars lasting almost the entire Middle Ages /Medieval Period.
Like all wars, atrocities & killings & horrible things were done on both sides. To say Christians were the bad ones & everyone else the mere victims isn't correct.
Even in WW2, those who opposed the Nazis, especially soldiers, often did horrible things too beyond killing other soldiers.
To be clear, yes, Christians should be ashamed of their part in ithe Crusades, and ashamed of those hypocritical in WW2 who ignored the Jewish plight.
But it's also crucial to note most Christians today are appalled by the Holocaust & support Israel & the Jewish people.
Finally, because someone will probably bring it up, note also the Inquisition also has a lot of myths & exaggerations.
As Britannica.com notes,
"All of the institutional inquisitions worked in secrecy, except for closely regulated public appearances. Their secrecy permitted those who opposed them to speculate about and often fictionalize dramatically their secret activities, producing many of the myths about inquisitions that are found in European literature from the 16th century to the present."
Yes, people were tortured & their were forced conversions & confessions. There were also Christians opposed to it & people who were fair & trying to honestly root out hypocrisy.
So yes, please check your history. Be careful of what you say, especially about whole groups of people you hate for stuff their groups committed in the past.
Always ask who your sources are. And if they're using their words to spread more hate.
No one is blameless, but all should be judged critically, with the knowledge that people often do horrible things out of ignorance & fear.
Don't be one of them.
Jew here with a friendly reminder that:
Criticizing Isreal ≠ antisemetic
Supporting Palestine ≠ antisemitic
Believing in the Free Palestine cause ≠ antisemitic
BUT ALSO
A random ass Jew just living their life oceans away has nothing to do with the Isreal-Palestine conflict
Palestinian Jews exist
Jews that support Palestine exist (I am one of them)
Calling out ACTUAL antisemitism ≠ supporting Isreal

The Pepperoni Pizza Of Politics: With Jen Psaki, Don Calloway, and Tim M...
COMMENTARY:
Jen Psaki can describe the practicum I have been conducting on Earnie Pyle  Journalism and Z-Pulse Theory,
What the Bulwark editorial staff needs to do is to publically repent of their complicity in Bill Kristol's Project for the New American Century. This is a manifesto for the hegemony that John Bolton has committed his career to achieving as part of the white supremacist agenda of the class warfare of the Ivy League Socialism of the John Birch Society. This is essential to the restoration of the Party of Lincoln as the dominant wing of the GOP.  Speaking as an Eisenhower Republican who was declared RINO by the Hollywood John Birch Society that Reagan brought with him, in January 1981, Michael Steele and Mitt Romney are virtually the only card-carrying Republicans from the adult leadership side of the Nixon White House, as defined by Ray Price, and the rest of the January 6 majority are the legacy of Pat Buchanan and the Plumbers, the leading edge of William F. Buckley's manifesto for the Nazification of America and the overthrow of the US Constitution like in Atlas Shrugged
And Michael Steel is the Putney Swope of the GOP, The defining vision of Nixon and Daniel Patrick Moynihan in the design of the Affirmative Action process to transform the Military Industrial Complex to the economic performance made possible my Apollo 11.
This is where Hegel comes in handy. Eisenhower doubled down on the New Deal with his 1956 Presidential Platform and created a capital budget that would enable the repurposing of the social infrastructure for the Manhattan Project to the Space Race. Infesting the universe with humanity like the blessing of the fleas in the Womans Barracks of Corrie ten Boon's sister in Ravensbruck is God's purpose with the Bible. Von Braun and other members of Eisenhower's think tank at Columbia had projected the investment in the Space Race would put a permanent lunar base by 2001. Stage 1 required creating the physical infrastructure required to support a lunar colony for 100 years, which is where the interstate system came in. Stage 1 produced Apollo 11 and Apollo 11, in conjunction with the Woodstock Festival, revealed to both Nixon and Daniel Patrick Moynihan exactly how to incubate the Democratic Socialism from that benefit from the anti-war/civil rights Boomer generation.
And the two movies that Nixon and Moynihan shared as the synthesis of all the shite America was trying to do with MLK's 1963 March on Washington, LBJ's 1964 Civil Rights Triumph and the reason  I went to Vietnam in 1950, after Kent State: 2001:A Space Odyssey and Putney Swope.
Affirmative Action is Stage 2 of Eisenhower's Stage 1. As I say, Affirmative Action was designed to create the critical mass in the whole of the American social infrastructure that will transform the quantity of the Military Industrial Complex to the Aerospace Entrepreneurial Matrix of the Starship Capitalism of 2001:A Space Odyssey. On January 19, 1981, we were a cunt hair away from achieving that critical mass and, if Carter had been re=elected, we' would have had a lunar colony for 22 years at this moment and probably been to Mars. However, Reagan was elected. If his New Federalism had been implemented, that would have become the cunt hair for the paradigm shift to Starship Capitalism.
But the white supremacist agenda of the class warfare of the Ivy League Socialism of William F. Buckley and the John Birch Society began to be installed while ripping out the New Deal and Affirmative Action.
The thing is, nobody except, maybe, H. Ross Perot, anticipated what the internet was going to do. I'm in the Peddling Prosperity business and I didn't understand the power of the internet to generate wealth until I retired in 203 and got a lap top.
Here's the thing: if Carter had been re-elected,  the agenda of Stuart Eizenstadt"s domestic would have provided that cunt hair without the internet with a 30% GDP before he left office. With the internet is beyond my capacity to project.
In contrast, the opportunity costs of Reaganomics since 1981 has exceeded 30% compounded. Reaganomics is based on the same business model of the Studio Executives in the Hollywood Writer's Strike. The Quality Assurance business model of Fran Drescher and SAG is the core technology of Starship Capitalism of Stage 3 of Eisenhower's Star Wars capital investment in 1956.
Michael Steele and Mitt Romney are the last of the Jack Kemp Republicans of the Party of Lincoln. Jack Kemp was the Daniel Patrick Moynihan of the GOP and all the stuff Jack Kemp did at HUD is operating at the leading edge of Muriel Bowser's DC Come Back launch of Phase 3 of Home Rule.
I've proposed a method to Sgt Tashina Wilhelm, 3rd District, DCMPD, for a partnership with the Benning Road Beauty Shop in an Affirmative Action project of community resilience,, community policing, and the community as a capitalist tool, based on Paul Krugman's dynamical economies of scale in Peddling Prosperty. This will fit in with the seminar on Ernie Pyle Journalism and Z-Pulse Theory.

As far as historical fiction depicting the different human experiences, and feminine experiences, of life in Germany, pre, during, and post-WW2, this book was very well done. It serves as a human reminder that life in Germany wasn't instantly the Holocaust and that seeing the signs aren't as easy as we think. It also depicted the shame born by that generation in a way that entered your heart and made one weep at the destructive force of our own evil.
The writing was good and not overburdened with some sort of feminists ranting, which is always the concern with modern female-centric fiction.
I did learn two things reading this book:
1) For the first time, I saw the connection people make between a love of homemaking and Nazism. I've run into these accusations before but never understood it. This book helped me to see how the push for women to excel in the home got trapped and twisted by Hitler and the Holocaust. It's such a sad thing to see it get so maligned by association when it actually has a much richer and deeper history.
2) I was finally able to put my finger on why I don't enjoy most female-centric stories. They always feel like gossip. Even from the high vaulted tower of WW2 history, they feel like stories of who slept with who, who argued with their husband, who backstabbed who, guess what she wore, guess what she said, can you believe it, I heard she...on and on and on. I find it wearying to my soul. I know that we women are relational and are the backbones of our families, but I wish that could be depicted better, not so like a salacious story.
Now, this book was good, well-written, well-researched, and I enjoyed reading it. It deepened my understanding of life in Germany around WW2. So, my internal observations aren't a mark against the book in any way. I did enjoy *The Hiding Place* by Corrie Ten Boon and *All But my Life* by Gerda Weissman Klein more than this, but this wasn't a bad read at all.
Warning: adult situations, not gratuitous, and rape.

One of Our Time's Most Spiritually Impactful Authors Dies
One of Our Time’s Most Spiritually Impactful Authors Dies
by Steve Eastman, Wait Til You Hear This
Christianity Today has called John Sherrill and his wife “the most influential Christian authors you know nothing about.” But their books captured the imagination of people in the 1960s and beyond, contributing greatly to a spiritual awakening when the world was otherwise wondering if God was dead.

One Hour. One Book: Luke
COMMENTARY:
Luke's real time journalism begins in Acts 16. The idea that this narrative isn't history excludes personal diaries from biography as a substantive genre. I've become a big Titu s Kennedy fan. He employs the Hegelian Historic Gestalt to arrive at this conclusions. For that reason, he has more in common with N.T.. Wright's version of Paul's theology than the Jesus  Seminar because of the Holy Spirit, which is the point of paradox between Wright's dialectical Idealism and the dialectic Marxism of the Jesus Seminar. Everything that happens before Acts 16 Luke fills in with first class research just like Truman Capote's In Cold Blood.
In some ways, Bart Ehrman''s  proposal that the Gospels are all oral history and subject to the "Telephone" effect is half right: it is oral testimony that relies on the memory of the respondent. Doris Kearns Goodwin couldn't write best sellers about Lincoln without relying on testimony from people who were in the room. Luke is introduced to Cornelius when Paul is under arrest in Cesaerea. Cornelius was the Judean archive of Quelle from the Tenth Legion, and reported directly to Theophilus in the Praetorian Guard as an equestrian sitting on the Judea desk, like George Smiley at MI6.
Paul was as queer as a three dollar bill. It is not unlikely that Paul and Luke had a casual friends with benefit relationship. John Mark had bailed out on Paul and Barnabas because of Paul's persistence at trying to sick his thorn in flesh up John Mark's Hershey Highway and John Mark was not the Beloved Disciple in that way. Jesus was able to give up the ghost the way He did and the time He did because he was like a Zen Master, an aesthete. It has to do with the disputed remark  about prayer and fasting. in Mark. "Fasting" apparently isn't in the original manuscripts, but it adds a necessary quality to Jesus explanation why that particular exorcism required Jesus.
I don't understand exorcism, Miracles are pretty easy to comprehend: the Spirit of God can be  compelled to achieve any medical outcome, such as creating the neurology for hearing or restoring damaged eyesight. Exorcism is dealing with something else and the death of Pat Robertson has released a bunch of what ever it it that caused this disaster on Maui.. The issue is, why did those unclean spirit land there? With Mary Magdalene, He didn't so much chase the 7 unclean spirits out as to enlarge her gestalt to give her command of her own executive. A lot of Jesus's methods are right out of the Neural Linguistic Programming hand book. Practical magic. Jesus has agency over the Spirit of God and He also partnered with the Holy Spirit to optimize the effect of the Spirit of God in history.
Jesus was trying to do for Jerusalem what Martine Luther did with the 85 Thesis: get the dominate coalition to change the way it did business to a superior model. In Jesus case, it was the synagogues and a nation of servant leaders instead of priests. The Temple was the Whore of Babylon, as became the Catholic Church and both are analogues to the Tower of Babel.
Theophilus wanted to know a whole lot more about all this Spirit of God stuff for it's military utility, but he was  also committed to understanding what this particular divine sanction represented to the Republic. Roman's 13:1 0 7 is God's way of saying "keep on keeping on" and is connected with God's purpose to infest the universe with humanity like the fleas in the Womens Barracks of Corrie ten Boon's sister at Ravensbruck, which kept the Nazis out.
33 CE is the number of the martyr, which is a good number for the Cross. It echoes the theme of 6 in the Creation narrative and the 6 hours Jesus waited until He could give up the ghost la Zippo Monk in Saigon in 1963, which was a message from the Universe to "Ivy League Socialism of the John Birch Society". Mohammad Atta was 33 on 911 and bin Ladin probably selected him on that basis. the 33 is like the 6 dots on the dice the Roman soldiers used to  distribute His clothes. The year 33 CE means that all the shit that happens before Acts 10 is compressed far more than Luke is able to convey, but the compression tends to validate Gary Habermas's premise that Christian doctrine emerged whole immediately after Pentecost. Cornelius employed Peter's executive summary of Jesus's career as the template for unpacking Quelle to form the narrative of the Gospel of Mark.
It's the greatest story ever told.

January 21 - Philippians 1:21 Even Better Grace
January 21 – Philippians 1:21 Even Better Grace
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Here is a great promise and challenge. Do I have enough conviction to claim these words as my own? If faced with the challenge of living or dying based on my confession of Christ, would I really consider dying to be, as one translation says, “even better?” That’s a question that can only be answered at the point of confrontation.
