Turning around to face the other, Tadpole tugged at the collar of his new shirt awkwardly before glancing back at himself in the mirror.

He hadn’t worn anything this.. Puffy before. Though, granted his usual attire had been rewashed and re-worn so many times now, he was surprised that they hadn’t disintegrated by now.

Tadpole sat at the end of the large dining table with a happy little smile on his face, and his feet dangling and swinging contently in his seat.

Clumsily he tried his best to eat his food with an actual fork for once, and not his hands. And it wasn’t until Stolas came walking by and commented on his unusually happy mannerisms, that the froglet gave a more timid smile now.

“Oh uh- yeah I- I guess I am--” Picking at his food a bit more, he eventually looked at the other and then back down at his plate sheepishly.

“I- I guess I’m just happy because- I didn’t have any nightmares last night.. I- I can’t remember the last time that happened.. It was really nice..”

He couldn’t remember the last time he’d even slept in a bed that was as comfortable as that one either.

“Thank you for- for letting me stay the night. And for breakfast-- I’ve never seen this much food in one place before.”
