Hi! I’m 17 years old and I’ve recently become very interested in pursuing a career in mortuary science. I’m currently in a early college program where I’m set on graduating with my diploma and my associates degree in life sciences which is science heavy. I’ve always been interested in biology and anatomy and from the looks of it mortuary sciences is very heavy in those areas along with chemistry right ? I also wanted to ask how you figured out this was the right path for you ? Also the school in my area that offers this degree prepares the students to be certified embalmers and funeral directors, do you think this dual degree is better than just trying to focus on the embalming aspects ? And lastly I was curious as to how heavy the workload is within the courses, I’m taking five college classes at the moment along with two AP classes so I’d like to think I’m a bit more acclimated to heavy workloads but I don’t know…just wanted to hear your opinion!

hi there! i'm sorry this took me so long to answer, but i'm super honored that you chose to message me about this! first of all, i'm so excited that you're considering mortuary sciences as a career! we need young, fresh minds more than ever right now since the funeral industry is going through such an intense shift away from older, traditional disposition styles into the future. let's take your questions one by one here.

chemistry is a pretty large part of the science aspects you'll learn in this program, yes. i've taken the most anatomy & chemistry courses in my career. you'll also take stuff like pathology & microbiology as well as sanitation courses, but it's very chemistry and anatomy heavy. i've always been interested in death & death studies -- i actually already have a masters degree in thanatology, so mortuary science was a natural step for me as someone who enjoys the sciences & has always been fascinated by the human form. it married both of my largest interests for me -- serving others & helping them navigate grief and human anatomy & preservation. i would definitely recommend the dual degree! there aren't a lot of places that are looking for strictly embalmers at this point; most funeral homes expect you to be able to do both and that is definitely a trending topic so i expect it to stay that way. the workload is difficult, i won't lie, but i think given your experiences, you'll manage it just fine! different programs and colleges offer different ways to pace yourself as well -- my program is an accelerated, ten week term program that has seasonal terms all ten weeks long with intensive, four-six hour classes with a lot of work done outside of the classroom. i take two classes a term because it's like taking a normal course load of three - four. i also work full time, so that's... enough for me. i hope that was helpful & you can come to me ANYTIME! i love yapping about this. <3

What was your grandmother like?

My grandmother was a wonderful woman, someone who I’ve looked up to for so long. She’s incredibly kind and always made sure I was happy while I was under her care. If I needed comfort, she’d put my head in her lap and talk to me about her life. I was quite emotional as a child, and she was very good at making me happy again. When father came back to Japan, she stood by my side and explained exactly where he was, what he was doing, and that I didn’t need to be afraid of him.

Before we knew what happened to Kazuma-sama, I always visited their graves on the same day. I suppose I needed guidance from them. I wish she was able to be here to see how far we’ve come.

age regression is not always a trauma response and it is not always involuntary. a lot of people enjoy engaging in sex acts while age regressed, when they have already established boundaries and expectations with their partners in advance.

my anon specifically points to reddit communities where there are various examples of this. people state their preferences. some enjoy sex in little space, others do not.

i’m not conflating age regression and age play, but there can be overlap. your experience is not universal, and neither is mine.

the definition of age regression, sweetheart, is an involuntary defense mechanism in which a person reverts to an earlier state of mental development. this response is caused by intense fear or stress. (hm. sounds like a trauma response to me. but how do you define trauma? because intense moments of fear or stress pretty much hits the nail on the head for me.)

children cannot consent to being sexualized. so an adult who is in age re cannot either. age play is completely separate. the people who u pointed out on that subreddit are age players not regressors. they are in subspace, not littlespace. that term is only for age regressors and not submissive age players. yes they both use the term "little" unfortunately. but they have different definition depending on the context. if you ever see me reference littles I will be talking about regressors not ageplayers.

it is true some littles might enjoy age play but not while they are in little space and it is also a thin line to follow as age playing might make then slip into littlespace which can be dangerous. so like I said. a thin line.

it is SO TRUE that there are varying experiences of littlespace because depending on what age you regress back into, your behavior will change. but age-re≠age play. at. all. you are conflating age play and age-re by saying that there is frequent overlap. overlap is very very rare.
