Galadriel and the Star of Fëanor

Having Galadriel in the rings of power bearing the Star of Fëanor, to the true Tolkien fans is as if we watch a show where African Americans in their toughest times were rebelling for their freedom, and the show gave them the symbol of KKK. Aka the ones that have been their enemy, literally burnt their people and kept them trapped.

Because this is what Fëanor caused to Galadriel's kin and more specific the Teleri Elves. (Reminder she was half Teleri from her mother's side). It was called "Kinslaying" for a reason and burning the ships is also "a kind of big deal" to the Silmarillion story.

Galadriel turned against Fëanor because she opposed the Kinslaying at Alqualondë and crossed the Helcaraxë with the rest of Fingolfin's followers. Which was a frozen hell for anyone that doesn't know (RIP Elenwë). Plus, her brothers were constantly victims of Fëanorian sons' mistreat and plots (see Angrod vs Caranthir and Finrod vs Celegorm and Curufin). Not to mention the incident with Fëanor asking for her hair and her meaningful refusal.

If the rings of power wanted to give her a symbol, there was always the option of the House of Finarfin's one.

Was it so hard? No. But they probably wanted something "catchy" and recognisable, not knowing their facts properly, which lead to a huge error. Because, as we say in my country, half knowledge is worse than no knowledge at all, since you have the confidence of being knowledgeable while you are not, so you use this little piece of knowledge in the wrong way.

Way to go, Amazon. Next time, make a show about the Suffragettes movement and have them hold a banner with the male symbol ♂️
