We talked, we walk but most of all, we got each other, and that it’s enough to us.

The punk movement/genre is interesting to me because it's all about fighting against society and not following the rules, that makes a rule in and of itself though. Blah blah rules have exceptions or whatever.
Anyway:
Tumblr media
That says "nazi punks to fuck off". Now, I was gonna make a joke about, with how punk works, saying that nazi punks aren't allowed is hypocritical, y'know, as a joke. Anyway, fuck that joke, I'm not making it now.
---------------------------------------------------
So, this is a punk band. Y'know punk, the thing where we say "fuck rules, fuck society and, most importantly, fuck you!" I like it a lot. Can you see an issue here?
Tumblr media
Now, I know this came from tiktok and they have rules surrounding censorship there, unfortunately I do not not give such a shit. The fact that you, as a punk band, are censoring this shit actively tells me you aren't very punk. I just don't think it's particularly punk to lay down nice and quietly and say "👈 i think the bad punks aren't nice" i get censorship exists but at the same time it only means that video reaches less people, that video in particular... the fact that you censored it tells me you wanted tons of people to see it whilst giving a fairly basic message... it's about as non-punk as it gets really... like yeah, you're angry, but who cares. You can't even express it in a good way because you're afraid the video will get less views. If you're going to censor at least do it creatively, because writing shit like that is what everyone does.
I'm just saying, punk was about being loud, unique, and angry. Honestly this is none of those things. Arguably, the most punk yhink about it is that it breaks the rules of what punk is, but that also feels like sort of bullshit excuse I'd make up as an artist, so I'm not fucking accepting that.
TL;DR - punk may not be dead but tiktok and the internet have their shoe wedged firmly down punk's throat and near nobody within punk cares because now they're all trying to appeal to the masses. Something that punk isn't built around.
