honeybody — “call me, even if it’s the middle of the night” w neighbor!eddie brock!! i’m not sure where exactly my brain was taking me with this but it feels right in my heart
roma!!! this was so fun to write thank youu so much for the ask. eddie brock hottest man alive
fem!reader x neighbour!eddie brock (no venom lol sorry)
Eddie’s been watching you for an embarrassing amount of time. He can see you out of his kitchen window, and although he’s supposed to be doing the dishes, he keeps glancing out the window in hopes of catching another glimpse of you.
You’re re-painting the side of your house with a fresh coat of paint, perched on a ladder that doesn’t look too safe, if he’s being honest. Paintbrush in hand and a paint pot balanced precariously on the ladder rung next to your hip, you’re very immersed in your work. Which is lucky, otherwise you probably would’ve noticed his staring.
Eddie finishes washing the dishes (which took him about an hour, what with all the spying on you) and he’s about to go and see you — purely to check the stability of your ladder, of course, nothing else — but before he can work up the courage there’s a yelp from outside followed by a thud that sounds suspiciously like Eddie’s too late.
He races to the nearest window and peers out and his heart drops when he an empty ladder. Soon enough he spots you, lying on your back in your well-tended grass. He doesn’t think. He’s out the door in a matter of seconds.
“Y/N!” He calls, rounding the fence that separates your houses. The heap on the grass that’s you lifts it’s head. “Y/N, are you alright?”
You sit up just as Eddie reaches you, rubbing the back of your head, dazed. “Eddie?”
Eddie doesn’t have time to think about how pretty you look right now. There’s a paint splotch on your cheek and the same colour is speckled all over your fingers. He gets to his knees in the grass.
“Hey, are you okay?” His hand finds your shoulder. “Did you fall?”
You giggle. “No, I just decided I’d lie on the grass for a bit,” you deadpan. “Yes, I fell, Eddie, but I’m fine.”
Eddie doesn’t even half believe you. His hand slides to the space between your shoulder blades. “Are you sure? You were pretty high up.”
He realises a second too late he’s exposed himself. You seem to realise the very same thing.
“Were you watching me?” You ask, squinting at him, but you’re smiling at least.
Eddie backtracks. “What? No, I just— I saw you out the window, and—“
“I’m joking, Eddie,” you laugh. “Help me up, will you?”
He helps you, wondering how on earth you manage to be so pretty and funny and sweet all at the same time. He feels dizzy when he stands, even though you’re the one that fell off a ladder.
Once you’re standing you try to take a step but your success is short lived. The second you put weight on your left foot you’re hissing in pain.
“Ow,” you groan, toppling sideways into Eddie. He catches you, thankfully, one hand gripping your forearm and the other around your waist. He’d think about how close you are to him but he’s too busy worrying. He can think about it later.
“What’s the matter?” He demands, panicked now that you actually look like you’re in pain, your face all screwed up and your hand clinging to his elbow.
“My ankle,” you explain, pointing in the general direction of your foot. “Hurts.”
Eddie, heart racing, manages to get you to your porch and sit you down on one of the chairs. He props your foot up on the little table you sit at to read in the mornings. (Not that he watches you read in the morning. He just happened to notice it a few times.)
He assesses your ankle and deems it sprained. He takes you inside and puts you on your couch while you complain.
“Eddie, seriously, you don’t have to do this. I’m fine, I can—“
“Do you have ice?” He interrupts your pointless rambling as he straightens up from helping you into your seat.
You frown at him, all fake offended. It’s awfully cute. “No. But I have frozen corn. In my freezer in the bottom drawer.”
Eddie leaves to find your frozen corn and when he comes back he finds you slumped on the couch, looking tired and defeated. You’re both silent as he lifts your foot onto the coffee table and presses your pack of frozen corn kernels against your ankle. When he finally looks at your face you’re smiling at him, droopy eyes and all.
“Thanks,” you say. “Feels nice.”
Eddie chuckles. “Mhm, I bet it does. You know you should be more careful. You’re lucky it’s not broken.”
You rolls your eyes, a smile on your lips. “Gee, thanks.”
“I’m not kidding around,” Eddie argues, “Really. Next time just ask me and I’ll come over and paint it for you.”
There’s a silent promise in his words. Yeah, he’ll paint your house. He’ll do whatever you want him to do. All you have to do is ask.
“Okay,” you say, your voice taking on this soft, sweet tone that feels both familiar and foreign all at once.
Eddie straightens up, deciding if he stays here any longer he might fall in love with you. As if he hasn’t already.
“Keep it elevated,” he tells you. “And keep the ice on it. I’ll come check on you in the morning, okay? But call me if it gets worse. Even if it’s the middle of the night.”
You grin at him and give him a tired salute. “Thanks, Doctor Brock.”
Eddie grimaces at you. “Don’t ever call me that again, please.”
You giggle. “Sorry. Thanks, Eddie.”
Eddie smiles back, totally lovelorn. “Yeah, you’re welcome.”
He finishes the paint job for you. And he brings dinner over, even though you tell him over the phone that he doesn’t have to. It’s safe to say he’s fallen even harder than you.

in another dimension (7)
she/her pronouns
mentions of no way home spoilers!! proceed with caution!
summary: y/n and the peters go to per se to meet eddie brock
warnings: some angst, swearing, mentions of violent actions
last part , next part
happy holidays! :)
peter anxiously waited around his and y/n’s apartment all day, dreading the moment it fell dark.
he didn’t want y/n to go, he didn’t know who eddie was or what he was planning. and what the hell did the alien mean when it said we?
the clock was nearing six thirty and y/n left to go get ready. twenty minutes later, she came out in little black heels and a slimming black dress.
both peters dropped their jaw when she came walking out. “look okay?” she asked.
older peter nodded. “most beautiful.”
“you look pretty, y/n,” younger peter agreed.
“thank you.”
older peter went over a kissed y/n’s cheek. “are we taking the subway or swinging?”
“subway. i don’t want my shoes to fly off and hit someone,” y/n decided.
“let’s go then,” peters nodded.
-
the subway ride was filled with y/n and the peters talking about the plan.
half way during their ride, the subway stopped. the trio paid no attention, but all gasped when the other peter came walking in.
“peter?” y/n called out. the oldest man looked shocked, but nonetheless came walking over and stood with them.
“what are you guys doing here?” he asked.
“peter- you’re in our dimension,” y/n said.
“what?” the older man questioned.
the trio then went on to explain what happened. people gave them weird looks, but they continued.
“wait- i’ve fought an eddie brock before. he went by venom, the alien that took over his body and made him evil.”
“what’d you do?”
peter two gave peter one the recap of the plan as they all rushed to the restaurant. peter three was holding hands with y/n, trying to keep her warm in the chilly air.
“alright, let me walk in first.”
peter looked at y/n, almost asking her if she’s sure. she nodded in response.
“remember our code word,” he told her.
“i know, love,” she replied. the peters watched as she entered the building and walked with the hostess.
“ready for us?”
the peters walked in.
-
y/n sat down at a table for two in the corner, anxiously bouncing her leg. she eased her nerves slowly as the peters sat the table next to them.
peter three made sure to stay as close to y/n as possible without making it obvious they were together.
when an average height man came walking in, y/n felt her stomach churn. she recognized him as eddie from the shop.
he sat down with a smile on his face.
“hello, dear.”
“why were you so keen on meeting me?”
“wow, starting with the questions right off the bat, eh? let’s enjoy ourselves…”
“don’t be like that, eddie. just tell me why you and- that creature want to talk to me.”
“that creature is me.”
y/n looked astonished. “what?”
“we- we share a body.”
“how is that possible?”
“the same way you brought me to this universe.”
“i didn’t do anything.”
“really? then why did you switch universes? there has to be a reason.”
the peters all looked widely uncomfortable, but peter three’s stomach was churning with pain. he didn’t like this.
“why does it matter to you?”
“because you brought me here.”
peter could sense he was getting angry. peter two looked at him, signaling not to make any crazy moves.
“i didn’t purposefully bring you here, eddie.”
“well, you did.”
“okay, sorry. i don’t know what you want from me.”
“i want you to pay for it! i want to go back to my universe!” he raised his voice slightly, startling y/n.
peter instinctively went into action but peter one pulled him back down.
“it’s working,” he whispered.
eddie sent peter a glare and he swore he wanted to beat him right then and there. he hadn’t felt this enraged in a long time and the other peters could definitely sense it.
“peter.”
suddenly, y/n watched in horror as eddie started transforming. his body grew and it looked like black goo. people were screaming and running out of the restaurant.
“y/n!” peter shouted, running and grabbing her waist. venom smirked.
“i knew it.”
peter slipped his mask on, the other peters following. peter three equipped his web slingers as venom shattered the glass window.
“go! we’ll hold him off!” peter two yelled.
y/n gripped onto her boyfriend as he took off. he zipped through the night air, hearing more screams behind him as the two peters tried to defeat venom.
“no, no, no, fuck!” peter swore. he landed them on top of a building, frantically pressing his web shooters to see nothing come out.
“i knew this wasn’t a good idea, and now i’m out of webs-“ peter panicked.
“peter!” y/n snapped him out of his daze.
“you can still stick to things, right? we need to find a location and get the other two peters here.”
“we need to go to my lab.”
“okay.”
“it’s going to take forever, though.” peter slipped off his dress shirt and pants, leaving him in his suit.
“would venom expect us to take a cab?”
although he was wearing a mask, y/n could tell he was dumbfounded underneath.
“he would probably throw the cab.”
“let’s just get down here and book it to the lab, it can’t be that far from here, right?”
“it’s about seven blocks.”
“then we better start running.”
-
peter carefully (and quickly) guided y/n down the building. the two took off sprinting, hearing gasps from strangers because spider-man just ran past them.
y/n felt her lungs burning as she ran. peter had more stamina and could tell she was getting tired. he picked her up, continuing to run the extra three blocks before finally approaching his lab.
“c’mon, c’mon,” peter swiped his card into the swiper. the door granted access and they quickly ran in.
peter wasted no time in going over to his chemicals, quickly fixing his web shooters.
y/n watched out the window, panic rising in her as she saw the two spider-men approaching with venom hot on their tail.
“peter!” y/n warned.
“one more minute! c’mon!” peter was frustrated as the chemicals bubbled.
“y/n, get away from the gla-“
y/n didn’t have any time to move because venom came crashing in the building.

@joanofarkansass Glad you liked my fic recs! Here are some more marvel + xmen ones:
Catch Me Through the Looking-Glass by ylixia
"It's like a recurring nightmare: Steve Rogers, trapped in a world that is not his own, new love left behind, and nothing to keep him going but questions."
This fic is one of the more popular ones for a damn good reason. A Steve Rogers just reflecting on his relationship with his own Tony AND another Steve and Tony's relationship and getting PISSED the whole time.
Conflict of Interest by NotQuiteHumanAnymore
"Tumblr prompt! alien-angel-orsentientpotato (AKA my firstborn, Cheyenne) asked "Okay so headcanon for x-men evolution. Despite Pietro and Kurt being on separate teams they have a weird understanding of each other as they are both fidgety. Pietro because everything moves so slow and Kurt because he's not used to sitting still or being in one place for long periods of time like school demands. So through this understanding they form a weird pseudo friendship thing in which they race each other, play tag, and see what pranks they can pull on each other without getting caught." And it became this 30k behemoth."
I will be real, I ship Peter/Kurt which is definitely a very rarepair lol, but this fic was very cute! It's based on the xmen evolution cartoon. Even if you don't know much about it, I'd recommend giving this fic a shot!
With a Child's Heart by Scarlet_Ribbons
"“Oh, god.” Steve whispers, sounding as horrified as Tony feels. “You’re so young. Tony, he’s so young.”
Spider-Man coughs once, a frail, baby-bird sound.
.
(They find his body in a Dumpster.)"
:((((( Vry sad but vry good
don't know why it took me so long to see by goodmorningbeloved (3799steps)
"“Oh, watch this,” Natasha says, propping her chin against her knuckles and turning a sweet gaze on him. “Tony, what’s it like dating a superhero?”
Tony bristles in irritation. “We’re not dating,” he snaps. “Captain America probably thinks he can get into anyone’s pants just ‘cause he’s got a mask, costume, and reputation, but not me, buddy. That shield? Gotta be overcompensating for something.” He adds, a bit petulantly, “Oh, and all that blue? Definitely more Steve’s color than his.”
- In which Tony is a genius in all matters except recognizing his boyfriend past a mask."
A true comedy of errors lol. Tony doesn't realize that his boyfriend Steve is Captain America.
Idiot Control Now by @cygnaut
"Hank screws something up in the lab and everyone's powers increase tenfold. Not knowing how to control them like this, they all try to cope and not kill each other by mistake while Hank tries to find a way to reverse the effects. Charles has a particularly hard time of it."
I got distracted and reread this while making this list. VERY funny and also very creative in how their powers could fly out of control without devolving into crack territory. I LOVE cygnaut's fic and got distracted reading a bunch get ready for some more y'all
Adventures in Babysitting by cygnaut
"When Jean, Scott, and Ororo get in trouble and have nowhere to turn, they call on the last person they probably should—Magneto."
DADNETO!! I LOVE the way cygnaut writes the Erik and Ororo relationship, if I ever write xmen fanfic assume Erik is Ororo's dad in it okay I don't make the rules anymore only cygnaut makes the rules.
Blessed is the Match Consumed by cygnaut
""This isn't a concentration camp," Delta says, calm, like he's been rehearsing it. Erik looks at the gun on his hip, the guards behind him in the corridor, the bars between them.
He smiles with a lot of teeth. "I think I'd know that better than you."
AU in which the beach divorce didn't happen and Erik decides to stay and help Charles start his school. But despite their clean break, the government isn't ready to let the mutants disappear into hiding."
A brutal and really well-written fic.
Plausible Deniability by DragonBandit
"Kurt and Peter travel across mutant America to recruit for Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Kurt has a crush. Peter is oblivious."
Another nightsilver fic that I really like!
Clint Barton's Super Secret Snipers' Club by sara_holmes
"Clint Barton's Super Secret Snipers' Club. (Invitation and pending mental health evaluation required.)
"When Steve brings Bucky back to the tower for the first time, Clint’s first thought is that Tony Stark’s pride and joy is quickly becoming a less of a very tall and expensive ‘fuck you’ in the faces of investors who don’t believe in self-sustaining energy, and more of a superhero rehabilitation center."
Boyfriends, compromises and learning to like oneself."
SARA HOLMES WINTERHAWK QUEEN
Way Down We Go by @clarkestetler and @goosenik
"After being attacked and forcibly separated from Eddie Brock, Venom bonds to Peter Parker in order to seek both revenge on the LIFE Foundation and any evidence of his previous host. Peter Parker isn't exactly thrilled about this turn of events and turns to the Avengers for help managing his new symbiote."
I've recently fallen into the Peter/Harry ship and this fic quickly became one of my favorites! Very domestic and sweet but also scary and also Peter having a relatively realistic reaction to suddenly being possessed by an alien tickled me.
Turning Tables by @iamallyetnotatall
"Thanos knows if he leaves Tony Stark alive, that Earth's mightiest defender will find a way to undo all of his hard work.
So when he snaps and wipes away half the universe, he ensures that Tony Stark is one of those that fade to nothing.
I.E - a what-if series of ficlets where Tony is dusted and Peter isn't. HAPPY ENDING GUARANTEED"
Very Good. Pepper and Peter and Morgan family bonding is great.
I Don't Want To Keep A Secret by DOA
"As their senior year begins, Peter Parker and Harry Osborn have a lot to figure out on their own.
Peter has his hands full with his Aunt dating again, college, potential romance, and being superhero with a secret identity that may be more trouble than it's worth. Then Harry, with a troubling father, an uncertain future, possibly unrequited love, a family secret, and an ugly green monster that he has no control over.
But what happens if their separate problems are more related than they think?"
A very cute and plotty Parksborn fic set in the Marvel's Spider-Man universe. It does have first person POV and has been incomplete for over a year which :( but I did enjoy what I read!
There you have it! Half of these fics are kind of Really Popular fics (which are popular for good reason) and fics that just happen to really personally appeal to me lmao

PARTY FAVOURS I CHAPTER 37
💖 first time reader click here 💖
Five more chapters to go, guys. This is coming to an end 😭 I enjoyed writing it so, so much! In this chapter we have fluff. Literally only fluff and snark, because my babies have suffered enough. And the remainder is gonna be the same. Because fuck pain.
Coulson was mad. Outwardly, of course, he seemed as level-headed as ever, handing out orders and signing papers out left and right, but coming to sit within five feet of him seemed like the worst mistake I had recently made. His phone was ringing practically non-stop and he answered every call, sometimes speaking in different languages I didn't understand, sometimes in rapid-fire English that sounded like Morse code to me.
I'd never been sent to the principal's office but I imagine that's how it feels like. Finally, his shoulders sagged and the breath he took in left his lungs slowly, deflating his body into a tense ball of quiet fury.
"You and mister Brock ruined months worth of investigation and undercover work," The agent finally spoke. "But I can't even be mad at you properly. We've apprehended the main culprit, detained all of his followers except select few that Dr. Xavier took upon himself to handle," His words shocked me; not at all the scolding I was expecting. A deeper part of me was even afraid I'd be taken away and buried under so much red tape not even Tony's seemingly endless money and influence could have gotten me out. "I... Really don't know what more to say." Coulson folded his hands atop the desk, looking over me with a blank look.
"A thank you would be nice," I let my mouth run before the words even really registered in my brain, the cursed thing.
The agent chortled, "Perhaps, we really do owe you a solid one," Before standing up and walking over to the coffee machine in the far corner of his office. "Coffee?" He motioned to a pile of empty cups next to it. I nodded and he set to work. "The guys should be back in two hours, tops," He remarked off-handedly, watching me out of the corner of his eye. There was no way he had missed how my body relaxed into the uncomfortable office chair at the news. "Nobody is hurt except Rogers but I think he'd find how to hurt himself even on recon duty." The man laughed, bringing over two cups of dark, delicious, steamiy hot bean juice. Nhghhgg.
"Steve is a dumbass," I agreed amicably, blowing over the rim of the cup. The stone of coffee on it's own seemed to wake up my previously anxious, half-empty half-racing brain. The past twelve hours were full of urgency, the team being called in for assistance in mere minutes after my and Venom's return to the tower.
They barely had time to wipe their tears and shelf their worries before the suit-up call came, haste hugs and kisses being traded on their way to the quinjet. Coulson showed up not much later after that, a quinjet of his own and a stack of papers for Eddie to fill out, stern instructions for me to follow him and stay glued to his side at all times. I didn't need to ask: it was obvious there was a rat in SHIELD, again. Thankfully, the rat was discovered before they could come and try to increase their odds by doing something to me; I'd hid out in Coulson's office, crashing down into a strange, most likely Venom-induced sleep as footsteps raced past the door.
I'd woken up anxious and disoriented, the owner of the office pacing along the furthest wall and pointedly whispering into his cellphone. The rest was history.
"Your father called," The agent remarked, watching my reaction carefully. "Said to call him back whenever you can."
I was drained, beyond wrung out, and not just from my latest stunt as a parasitic symbiotic alien's host. The past couple of months were a nightmare, an anxiety-riddled, paranoia-spiced mess of a shit show. I was very much looking forward to breathing freely and enjoying my science without hiding my WIPs, enjoying my relationship (s) without fear of being abducted and sending my men into a panicked, destructive spiral.
My voice remained even as I carefully contemplated and spoke my next words. "He can go fuck himself. Him and that harpy of a woman," I sighed: disappointed in my parents, but not surprised. "I'm freshly out of fucks to give. I'm done."
Coulson, if he even was surprised, didn't show it. His expression remained neutral and supportive. "I understand you. There's enough basis for us to aid you in creating a new identity for you, if you'd like," He pushed a stack of papers towards me.
I chewed on my lip in contemplation. It would be handy, sure, I could be rid of the curse that became of my family name and my parents couldn't legally do anything at all to me; on the other side there was my name plastered on several inventions and projects I'd done over the years. In all my years, I was taught that my name is to be my business card.
The decision was obvious. "No, thank you," I looked at him, hoping to convey the sincerity. "I think I will be okay."
He smiled and went back to his paperwork, all but verbally dismissing me. As soon as I finished my coffee and washed the mug, the couch called to me once again and I curled up under the fleece blanket Coulson had thrown over me while I slept, alternating my attention between sneaking glances at his concentrated form and my cellphone and the few meager games it had. There was no signal and no wi-fi access on the Helicarrier. Security reasons, blah blah blah...
A knock sounded out, startling me out of my sluggish thoughts; one of Coulson's hands crawled down to one of the drawers on his right side where I assumed he had hidden a gun. "Come in," He called out, shooting me a pointed look. I sat up, alert.
"M'here to pick up - uh - a Baby," A tired but amused, familiar voice called out. Clint stepped into the room, still wearing his dirty and bloody uniform, and, as my eyes briefly scanned him, the archer appeared to be unhurt save for a few bruises here and there. His eyes landed on me immediately, visibly relieved.
"Waa," I deadpanned indignantly, raising my hands like a toddler would do when they wanted to be picked up. The only thing Clint was missing was a courier's ball cap.
"I assume the mission went smoothly?" Coulson asked, a soft grin and even softer eyes landing on our interaction.
Clint nodded affirmative, walking over and picking me up with ease, disregarding my shierk completely and stopping only when I poked him in the ear - closest appendage to me - in retaliation. His eyes were laughing and his tone was flat. "Caw caw, motherfucker," He announced to me flatly, waving goodbye to Coulson.
We passed more than a dozen agents giving us the biggest side-eye as I dangled over his shoulder, ass up in the air, fiddling with the numerous straps of his gear as Clint power-walked us to the Avengers quinjet. I'd even stuck out my tongue to some dude pointing a finger at us.
My family was already loaded into the vehicle, all in various stages of dirty, bloody and undressed. Coulson's words were true - only Steve sported a wide bandage over his shoulder, neck and head - one look at Bucky and I just knew the Captain would be regretting his stupidity in a few hours time. Even Stephen was there, looking unhurt but very annoyed and tired, as he hovered a few feet off the ground with Cloaky majestically swaying behind him.
"And what the fuck was that little performance for?" I asked once Clint deposited me in the very front row, between a dozing Bruce and a tinkering Tony.
"I had strict instructions from the Hulk," The archer grinned, pushing a few buttons on the dashboard of the vehicle. In seconds, we took off home.
"Oh, hi," Bruce must've heard his green counterpart being mentioned; his eyes cracked open just as I smiled at the scientist and reached over to brush his curly mop of hair out of his face. "M'yes, Hulk is demanding you do not set foot on the ground these days," Bruce was sleepy and warm, so soft when he kissed my hand, I felt my heart swell.
"Gonna spoil me rotten, you lot," I snorted, keeping the happy smile and the warm feeling as Stephen came back from the Astral world, opening his eyes and giving me a grin of his own.
"That's my job," Tony mumbled, still very occupied with a part of his suit. I turned around expecting a kiss; I had to stifle an ugly snort upon discovering one of the parts of his Iron Man suit got damaged and stuck, making a part of the chestplate render one of his arms temporarily immobile. Tony looked like a frustrated toddler building Legos.
"Someone get me a screwdriver and some pliers," I gently pried away the calloused fingers away from the jagged piece of metal, kissing Tony's cheek in the moments until Natasha handed me the required instruments. Tony was free, grimacing in discomfort as he stretched and rotated his arm, in little under ten minutes. "What happened to the nanosuit?" I asked, not remembering the last time I'd seen Tony in one of his older, clunkier creations.
"They had some sort of technopath mutant," He grumbled - I had discovered the source of his ire. "Turns out, Bruce snuck in my special anti-mutant suit I'd made ages ago. Nanosuit got destroyed in seconds and Hulk had to carry me back to the quinjet for a change of equipment," Despite his sour mood, Tony was visibly more relaxed than since the day I confessed I'd been drugged. "Brucie-bear, this is exactly why it remained a prototype."
"It's better to get stuck in a suit than to be a meat pancake on the sidewalk," Used to Tony's tantrums, Bruce merely blinked and continued eating the chocolate that he procured only God knew where.
I locked eyes with Stephen, both of us shaking our heads in almost identical, semi-fond semi-annoyed way. Ah, sweet sweet normalcy.
There were towers of pizza boxes as we arrived in the tower; a couple of agents got all but yeeted out by Tony, with little to no thank you as they had been the ones that arranged the food for us - still, I understood Tony's dislike of the super-secret organisation and merely paid the two for the pizza, politely waving goodbye as they side-eyed Tony with disdain.
Then, I had to tow both Clint and Thor as they attempted to begin eating, still wearing muddy bloody clothes - of course, I did not possess the physical strength required to handle two adult men, so I merely began a small lecture on parasites (Stephen gleefully joined in) and both of them scattered towards the showers like two spooked little first-graders.
I also used the brief moment of stagnation to hug Loki; these days he didn't freeze in surprise but rather warmly hugged me back, whispering something cheeky to me as I buried my face in his chest. Stephen was the one to cough extra-loudly to attempt to separate us - it was, once again, unanimously decided to have a family dinner and a cuddle pile straight after. Food coma had never sounded nicer.
"So, what'd Coulson say to you?" Clint asked curiously as we all settled in, freshly showered and those who needed it, re-bandaged. I was warm and toasty between Tony and Stephen, wearing the former's gym shorts and the latter's hoodie, Bruce's t-shirt underneath it. The scientist himself was drooling onto Tony's shoulder, somwhere between sleep and awareness, glasses askew.
"He basically thanked me and offered me a new identity," I shrugged, polishing off the last of my smoothie and handing the second bottle over to Loki. As usual, no food was wasted and I always had someone to finish my leftovers, especially since Bucky tended to think I could eat as much as him and kept trying to overfeed me like a foie gras goose.
"Congrats, you've been adopted," Natasha snorted from her place between Clint and Steve. Only the red of her hair was visible behind the man-bulk and the blankets.
"Uh," My response was, as always, deeply informative and astute.
"He likes to take in strays," Clint full-belly laughed. "Me at first, then Natasha. He's got a soft spot for Tony and Bucky but he won't admit it."
My eyebrows rose. "That's... That's my job?" I remembered the whole Venom/Eddie situation, our rogue wizard. Coulson was aiming for my place- the audacity! "He can't just do that!"
"And you can?" Stephen's finger booped my nose, making me huff and cuddle up to Tony, turning my butt towards the sorcerer to show him exactly what I thought about his observations. He only laughed harder. "Sounds like someone's a little jealous."
"Okay, boomer," I rolled my eyes. Stephen Strange, a supreme troll is what he is.
"But that's why you love me," He continued as others around us groaned and snorted, too used to us teasing each other about our age difference and my old man kink. Whatever, I got to bang my hot old men anyways.

For @winterhawkbingo Round 3, Square G1: Eddie Brock
Ao3 Link
Changement de pieds:
They were halfway through the Act III of Spiderman and final act of the performance when Eddie came spinning offstage and grabbed Clint’s arm as he went past. Clint held up his hand for a high five, but Eddie just sagged against him, sucking in deep gulps of air.
“You okay there?” Clint whispered, giving him a concerned look. “You don’t look great.”
It was hard to tell under all the stage makeup, but Eddie was looking paler than usual. Clint pressed a hand to Eddie’s forehead, realizing how useless that was after the fact. Of course he would be hot and sweaty after the performance he just gave.
Eddie looked up at Clint, desperation in his eyes. “I’m so fucking dizzy,” he whispered.
Clint raised his eyebrows in concern. Dancers got desensitized to getting dizzy while spinning at a young age, so if it was enough for Eddie to be mentioning during a performance it must be really bad. He glanced across the stage where Bucky, as Spiderman, had called up his army of spiders. The chorus was doing a bunch of chasés across the stage and Clint looked around to see if he could spot a stage manager.
“Can you keep going?” Clint asked, making sure to keep his voice low.
Eddie closed his eyes and leaned over further. Clint could feel him start to shake as he clutched Clint’s arm for support.
“I have to, right?” Eddie said, putting more pressure on Clint’s arm.
Clint continued to look around for a stage manager. Eddie looked like he was either going to puke or pass out, and he didn’t think it would be a great idea for either of those things to happen onstage.
It was almost time for Clint to stumble across the stage in a comedic moment to join the rest of the chorus of spiders, but he still couldn’t see any of the stage managers. It looked like something was really wrong with Eddie and Clint panicked.
“Give me your costume,” he demanded, ripping off his wig and running his fingers through his hair to flatten it out the best he could. They were just going to have to have a blond Venom in the second half of the act tonight because Clint was barely going to have time to put on Eddie’s costume, much less his wig. He started rapidly unlacing his tutu as Eddie unzipped his unitard with shaking hands.
Venom was also going to be in pointe shoes, Clint realized as he yanked the unitard on over his tights. He had about eight more measures before Eddie was supposed to be onstage, and he was just praying he remembered all the choreography from when he was doing that extra practice with Bucky.
“What is going on here?!” a stage manager hissed, finally appearing in the wings. Clint didn’t have time to answer her before he leapt on stage, but he heard Eddie throwing up and figured that should be enough of an answer.
Bucky’s look of shock as Clint appeared on stage was more realistic than artistic. “The fuck?” he mouthed when he was facing upstage away from the audience.
Clint gave him a tiny shrug before going into a fouetté jeté.
He lunged at Bucky, and Bucky jumped back, bringing his arms up to mimic shooting webs at him. Clint danced back, weaving as he went.
They repeated this a couple of times before Clint backed into the waiting arms of two of the other dancers. They lifted him up, and he beat his legs in the air. They lowered him down enough for him to kick off the floor and toss his legs backwards over his head. Thank goodness Wade and Junjie were there to guide his jump, because he’d forgotten about the pointe shoes and almost lost his footing on the landing.
Clint flung his arms back and the two spiders released their grips. He raised his arms and stalked towards Bucky, getting ready for the big finale. Bucky continued to mime shooting webs at Clint, who grabbed Bucky’s right wrist on one beat, then his left wrist on the next. Bucky twisted his hands to grip Clint and swung himself between Clint’s outstretched legs. Clint pulled Bucky back through, using the momentum to lift him in the air. As he came down from the lift, Bucky wrapped his legs around Clint’s waist and they dropped hands so Bucky could do a backbend. Clint held his waist and guided Bucky into a handstand.
From there Bucky flipped upright, facing Clint and raised his arms, flicking his hands towards Clint. The chorus surged to surround Clint, holding hands as they did a series of pas de chat in a tight circle around him. It wouldn’t have been so tight, Clint thought wryly, if he’d been in their number like he was supposed to.
As they formed a dome with their arms over their heads, Clint dropped to one knee. Their arms pulsed in time to the music, and Clint curled up on the ground, face pressed into his knees and arms wrapped around his legs. The music swelled and the circle of dancers opened to reveal Clint, who stayed curled in the fetal position. He hugged himself tightly as two of the spiders dragged him off stage before running back for their victory dance. It would be uneven without him, and he briefly considered putting his tutu back on to join them for a very late entrance before he looked up to see a pair of angry stage managers standing over him.
“What was that?” one of them whisper-shouted, shaking Clint’s abandoned wig in one hand.
“Eddie looked like he was dying and I couldn’t find either of you,” Clint explained as he got to his feet. “Is he okay?”
“He’s on his way to the hospital,” the other stage manager grudgingly admitted.
“That was still incredibly stupid and dangerous!” the first one continued to whisper-shout and shake his wig.
“Uh huh,” Clint said, raising an eyebrow. “Can I get my wig back?” he asked, holding out his hand so the stage manager would stop abusing his poor wig.
He handed it back to Clint, asking, “Are you listening to me?”
“Yeah, but I’m not seeing what other options I had,” Clint explained. “It was either switch places with Eddie or go on with the chorus and have Eddie try to push through and throw up or collapse on stage. I think I picked the better option.”
“You’re not even the Venom understudy!” he said, glaring at Clint. “You or Bucky could have been seriously hurt!”
“The Venom understudy is Marcello, who was already onstage,” Clint protested. “Neither of you was here to tell me what to do, so again, I’m not seeing what other options I had.”
The stage manager was prevented from answering by the flood of chorus members streaming off stage. They were greeted by a bevy of quiet “what the fuck”, “what happened”, and “where’s Eddie”.
Before anyone could answer them, the chorus was running back onstage for their bows. Clint watched them go before turning back to the stage managers with a raised eyebrow.
The calmer of the two rolled her eyes and said, “go ahead,” with a deep sigh.
Clint shoved his bedraggled wig back on his head, and ran out for Venom’s bow after the audience slowed their clapping for Steve’s Mary Jane. The crowd roared as he came out, taking a deep bow before stepping back to hold hands with Junjie on his right.
Bucky waited a few beats after the applause died down before slowly walking out to take his bows. After he stepped back to join the rest of the company, he gestured down to the orchestra pit, up to the crew, and then took hands with Steve and Clint to lead the bows as a company.
The second after the curtain dropped, Clint found himself surrounded by Trocks demanding to know where Eddie was (Steve), why he’d taken over as Venom (Marcello), and was he trying to give him a heart attack on stage (Bucky).
Clint threw up his hands in a futile effort to stop the torrent of questions. “I don’t know what happened with him, he’s on his way to the hospital, and I didn’t know what else to do,” he blurted out.
“The hospital?”
“Is he hurt?”
“What happened?”
“Did you shank him?”
“Which hospital?”
“Are you sure you didn’t shank him?”
Clint put his head in his hands as the questions continued. “I don’t know guys,” he told them again. “I saw him for like two minutes and he said he was dizzy and looked like he was gonna pass out or puke, so I made him give me his costume so we could finish the show. I definitely didn’t shank him, what the hell Wade?”
The buzz of questions continued as the company trooped down to the dressing room. Most of them had just finished changing out of their costumes and washing off their makeup when the artistic director stepped into the room. The room slowly went silent as they all turned to look at her.
“As I’m sure you all know by now, Eddie had to be taken to the hospital after being unable to finish his performance as Venom tonight. He wanted everyone to know he’s going to be fine, but is being admitted for an emergency appendectomy. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it if you all keep him in your thoughts during his recovery.”
The room burst out in a heated chatter at her announcement, but Clint whipped out his phone instead of joining in.
“Dude, did your appendix burst onstage???” he texted Eddie.
The text notification popped up a few minutes later.
“No but it was close/ Thx for going on/ Everyone ok?”
“NP, we’re fine, but HOLY SHIT MAN/ glad you’re gonna be okay”
Bucky walked over and peered over Clint’s shoulder. “Is that Eddie?” he asked.
“Yeah,” Clint said, tipping his head back to knock gently into Bucky’s.
“What the fuck?” Bucky exclaimed. It took Clint a second to realize he was reading the latest text from Eddie, not commenting about the head bump.
“Yea, after emergency surgery and a bunch of antiparasitics to kill off the tapeworm that was blocking my appendix” he’d written.
Clint squawked before texting, “THE TAPEWORM!??!?!?!” and a bunch of scream emojis.
Eddie replied with four sweat-smile emojis before writing, “guess I ate some undercooked meat” with a shrug emoji. “guess that’s why I was feeling shitty and losing weight too”.
“Oh my god,” Bucky groaned, beating his head against Clint’s shoulder.
Clint turned to face Bucky, who was looking absolutely miserable. “Hey, what’s with that face?” he asked. “Don’t tell me you’re having tapeworm appendicitis too.”
Bucky shook his head. “No, it’s just… he was my partner for how long and I didn’t see this? Was I that self-absorbed that I didn’t notice my dance partner’s declining health? The whole reason I kept doing all those extra practices with you was because Eddie kept saying he was too tired for the extra practices.”
Clint laid his hand on Bucky’s shoulder. “Hey, we’re professional dancers. We hide everything under a thick layer of pancake makeup and a smile, you know that. Besides, if we hadn’t done all those practices together I probably would have dropped you on your head tonight.”
Bucky gave him a wry smile. “Yeah, I guess that’s true. You probably wouldn’t have dropped me on my head, though.”
“Well, not by accident at least,” Clint joked, sticking his tongue out. “Hey, you wanna come with me to buy Eddie a get well basket and fill it with gummy worms?”

try my luck.
here’s the long-awaited second part to i believe it could be, though it could be read as a stand-alone! eddie follows up on his promise and he and the reader have a good cute date night. the title comes from the song fool for love by lord huron, which i’ve been listening to a lot lately.
pairing: pre-movie!Eddie Brock x reader
warnings: none, there be kissin
length: 1,864 words
part one - part three
Your heart raced as you stood in the hallway in front of Eddie’s apartment door.
You raised your fist to knock before quickly lowering it, taking a deep breath, and checking a text from Eddie one more time to make sure that you had the correct apartment number.
Why were you so nervous?
You had never been so wound up for a date before, at least as long as you could remember. Maybe part of it was because he was the Eddie Brock, who has traveled the world searching for truth and seeing all kinds of beautiful things in his travels.
And he saw enough of that beauty in you that he wanted to take you out?
You blushed, far too excited to let self-doubt root itself in your fluttering stomach. In a moment of courage, you raised your fist once more to rap on the door a few times. You heard footsteps on the other side of the door, and after a moment, it opened, revealing an absolutely beaming Eddie. “Hey!” He greeted. “Come on in!”
He ushered you inside the apartment, and you got to take a good look at the interior. There was a worn, comfy-looking couch and a coffee table opposite a TV, a small kitchen that looked like it had been recently cleaned, and a kitchen table with a closed laptop and a few piles of papers and notebooks. There were a few concert posters and news spreads framed on the walls, and you smiled. It wasn’t a cookie-cutter picture of the perfect apartment, instead it was lived-in and homey. Eddie noticed you looking around and grew sheepish, rubbing at the back of his neck. “I, uh, cleaned up a little bit. Sorry if it’s still a little cluttered.” He said nervously.
You grinned up at him. “It’s a really nice place, Eddie. It feels very you.” The tension in his shoulders lessened. It was comforting to know that he was at least a little bit as nervous as you were, and you found yourself relaxing as well.
You sat down on the couch in front of the coffee table, where two plates of re-plated Thai takeaway were sitting. He had texted you earlier in the day to get your favorite order, but the lack of surprise didn’t make the gesture any less heartwarming. You heard the fridge door open and close as you were admiring the spread, and then Eddie was taking a seat next to you on the couch, holding a cold beer out to you. “As promised.” He said with a smirk.
You took it from him, cracking it open and taking a sip as he did the same. From there, the two of you grabbed your plates and tucked in, making small talk about the things that you had each done since you had seen each other last. Just like the last time you were in a position like this, conversation came easily, and it wasn’t long before you found yourself getting into a good flow and eventually telling Eddie about something that one of your friends did years ago that still made you laugh, pulling up the video proof you had of the incident and making him laugh so hard that he nearly choked on his drunken noodles.
When the food was gone, you saw Eddie shift on the couch like he was going to begin cleaning up, but you quickly snatched both of the plates up and were halfway to the sink before he could make a noise of protest. “You’re hosting and bought dinner, I’ve got this.” You chirped, and he shook his head with a smile, grabbing the few empty bottles on the coffee table and following you into the kitchen to dispose of them.
As you put the first plate into the drying rack, Eddie opened the fridge to get a couple more bottles, popping the caps off and putting one next to you on the counter. You drank as you finished the dishes, and by the time you were done, Eddie had thrown on some music and was leaning against the counter next to you, bobbing his head along to the Van Halen song that was playing softly in the background.
“Don’t know if I took you for a classic rock type.” You teased as you drained the sink and hung the towel up to dry, glancing over to a retro-looking Def Leppard tour poster hanging on the wall, and he shrugged.
“I listen to other things, but it’s always a good mood.”
You grinned, drying your hands off, grabbing your half-full beer, and hoisting yourself up to sit on the island counter across from where he was leaning. “I’ll cheers to that,” You saluted, and he clinked the neck of his bottle to yours with a laugh.
The two of you continued to chat, eventually moving back to the comfort of the couch. Eddie told you stories from his travels as you finished off the 12-pack in the fridge and sipped on a few fingers of whiskey that he had poured for you. He explained about a couple interesting encounters with locals when he was doing international work, and about a bad experience he had in a karaoke bar in Vegas when he was doing a story on the strip. The way he told stories had you completely transfixed, and you could tell that it was a skill that made him such a good reporter. You ended up pretty close to one another on the couch, you leaning into his side with your legs tucked under yourself and his arm around you, the other free to gesture as he talked.
After the end of a particularly uplifting story about an experience he had in New York, your empty glasses sitting on the coffee table, he let out a sigh, sinking more into the couch and smiling down at you. “You know, you can tell me to shut up whenever you get sick of hearing my voice, right?.”
“Why would I do that?” You asked, nudging him in the ribs with your shoulder.
“I don’t know, I don’t want you getting the impression that I’m just speaking to fill space, y’know? You’re just really easy to talk to.” You looked up at him to see a slight blush color his cheeks.
Your face grew warm as well. “I’m not complaining,” you quipped. He chuckled, blue eyes drifting over your facial features in the moment of silence that followed. You found yourself doing the same, glancing down at his lips and feeling the air in the room electrify. You really wanted to kiss him.
As soon as the thought crossed your mind, Eddie was slowly beginning to move closer, eyes bright and alert for any sign that you didn’t want to take the step, but you didn’t give him the chance to misinterpret anything and pressed forward eagerly, capturing his mouth in a kiss.
It was chaste at first as the two of you got a feel for each other, but it wasn’t long before his hand was coming up to cup your face. His mouth was opening to yours, letting you get your first real taste of him, and you could only imagine how much you tasted like booze, but you didn’t care because Eddie was kissing you in a way that you hadn’t been kissed in a long time.
The first time you pulled back for air, Eddie’s hands on your hips guided you to straddle his solid thighs and settle in his lap. You felt giddy as he pressed his mouth to you again, this time on the line of your jaw, and you sighed, keeping one hand on his chest while the other gently raked your nails through the hair at the back of his head. The action had him relaxing even further into you, gripping your hips and pulling you impossibly closer to him.
You could only imagine how the two of you looked from an outside perspective going at each other like restless, horn teenagers, and the thought alone made you giggle breathlessly, tugging Eddie’s head away from where he was sucking a mark onto your neck to reconnect your lips, licking into his mouth and savoring the noise of contentment that he made in response.
It wasn’t until you smoothed your hands down Eddie’s abdomen and tugged at the front of his belt that he pulled fully away from you, gently taking hold of your wrist and bringing your hand up to rest it on his stubbly cheek. “I don’t think that’s the best idea, sweetheart.” He said gently. “As much as I’d love to, I think we’ve both had a little too much to drink tonight to go farther than this.”
The look on your face must have made him nervous because panic bloomed in his eyes, and he took in a quick breath as if he was going to say something. You quickly silenced him with a peck to the lips and a smile, which he returned with a look of relief. “You’re right.” You said with a sigh as he nipped at your jaw.
“I can make it up to you later, I promise,” He told you lowly, clearly having gotten his confidence back after he had set the boundary, hands smoothing over your lower back under the fabric of your shirt and leaning in to bite at your bottom lip. You kissed him back, trying to pour everything you could into it because he had just confirmed that he wanted to see you and do this again, and the idea alone had warmth blooming in your chest.
The two of you continued to make out and stay cuddled together on the couch until a glance at your phone had you groaning. “It’s getting late, I’d better get out of your hair.”
“I’ll get you an Uber.” He said, tapping at his phone for a minute before tossing it aside and pulling you in for another kiss. “And for the record, I really don’t mind having you in my hair.” He remarked, which made you laugh.
You gathered your things and Eddie walked you to where the uber was waiting, your fingers intertwined with his. “Let’s do this again soon.” You told him, and he kissed you one more time as an affirmative.
“Text me when you make it home, ok?”
“I will.”
He gave you one last beaming smile and squeeze of your hand before you got into the backseat of the waiting car, and he waved as it pulled away from the curb. You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol left in your system, but you felt giddy about the way that the night had gone, and you were buzzing in excitement at the prospect of seeing him again.
“The two of you are really cute together.” The uber driver remarked, and she gave you a smile in the rearview mirror. You thanked her genuinely, smiling and blushing red.
As you looked out the window of the moving car, you couldn’t help but think that this was the start of something really good. You could just tell.

(Summary: The Finale.)
The Final Chapter
~
The sun rose on that Saturday morning to find two Ancestors that had shifted back to their human forms.
They ended the night with the Losers in the forest during an intense game of hide and seek. They woke up the next morning cuddled on the beach together. Eddie laid on Richie's chest, their legs tangled up. Both of their ears out. Eddie had his hand placed over Richie’s heart as he listened to it beat inside of his chest. He felt the calming sensation of his boyfriends chest rising and falling. Richie laid nude on the beach with his boyfriend cuddled up on top of him. His wolf tail was half buried in the sand. The dark sand felt cool and moist on his bare back. He had both of his arms wrapped around the fully clothed Ancestor on his chest. The smaller boy was warm, his body gave off enough heat for the both of them.
(Richie needed to undress for his transformation as his was messier. When Eddie’s is more magical. Which allowed him to keep his clothes)
“G’morning” Richie whispered in his deep morning voice when Eddie’s eyes fluttered open.
“Hey” Eddie’s face had been emotionless and peaceful while he slept, now it softened at the sight of his boyfriend. He smiled softly, “How are you feeling? Any aches?” His voice came out low, almost a whisper.
“No I-I’m actually okay… More than okay” Richie’s face broke out into a smile, leaning up, lightly kissing Eddie’s lips. One of his hands wandered up to play with Eddie’s messy hair.
“Good, that’s good. We should go back to the hotel before they realize we’re gone” Eddie hesitated before he rolled off of Richie. “Oh- shit you’re naked” Eddie groaned.
Richie snorted, “What it’s not anything you haven’t seen before” he chuckled.
Eddie’s brow creased, he began to take his sweater off, the pullover one he had brought on the trip since he knew that the temperature dropped the closer you were to big bodies of water. “Take this asshole” Eddie tossed the sweater at Richie who made over dramatic kissing sounds in return.
Nonetheless Richie accepted the sweater, grateful to not be 100% nude on the beach now. He sat up and pulled the sweater over his head. Eddie had a thing for larger sweaters which was fortunate because it fit Richie almost perfectly. He cuddled it closer for a moment, inhaling a scent he was all too familiar with. Rain, evergreen, lilacs, Eddie.
“Let’s get going. I wanna be the first one on that bus, and off this fucking island before they find that damn body-“ Eddie cut himself off, knowing that he’d work himself up if he were to continue.
Richie got to his feet, dusted the sand off of his ass and legs. “Which they won’t. That bitch is swimming with the fishes” Richie made a wave motion with his arm, pointed out towards the ocean.
“Whatever” Eddie shut his eyes and shook his head. His soft curls shook from side to side with him, his bunny ears bopping with the motion. The humidity in the air had made Eddie’s normally straight (ish) hair curl into soft little waves that made Richie’s heart skip a beat.
Richie stepped up towards Eddie and wrapped him in a warm hug. Eddie buried his head into Richie’s chest. The taller boy laid his check on top of the others head.
“Seriously though we should go back-“ Eddie said, mufflered by the sweater.
“Oh god!” Richie barked out a laugh, “You really know how to ruin a moment don’t you?” He smiled down at Eddie once they pulled apart.
Eddie rolled his eyes. He stood up on his tippy toes to kiss Richie’s lips before he intertwined their fingers. “Come on sour wolf!” Eddie called out as he began leading Richie back towards town.
~
They snuck Richie in through the back entrance and hid Richie in the bathroom since he was only wearing a hoodie and literally nothing else. So they had to shove his tail into the back of Eddie’s sweater and pull the hoodie on to hide his wolf ears. Which meant Eddie had to run up to their room without being seen by any of the adults and grab Richie’s clothes. But since Eddie gave RIchie his sweater, he had nothing to hide his bunny ears with, so he ended up sneaking around the hotel with his shirt pulled up over the back of his head like a nun.
After Eddie got Richie to dress down the night prior, he had left them in a neat pile in the grass, along with his hat and glasses and Stanley had taken them back to the room so they wouldn’t get lost.
After about the fifth knock he finally heard the distant sounds of footsteps approaching the door. The door creaked as it opened. Stanley only stuck his head out, which gave Eddie more than enough context on what he and Bill were up to previously. The messy hair, the raw lips, and that little dark patch on Stan’s neck that kinda looked like a hickey.
“Oh” Stanley said, shocked to see him. “Morning” He said, eyes wide.
“You guys having fun in there?” Eddie smirked with raised eyebrows.
Stan sighed and rolled his eyes, his head disappeared for a moment before he shoved the pile of clothes at Eddie. “Go” He growled light heartedly as he leaned out just enough to show some bare chest.
Eddie tried to lean in to see more, “Wait are you naked-“.
“Begone!” Stan declared before closing the door in Eddie’s face.
Eddie had to hold a hand over his mouth to refrain from laughing. He took a moment to collect himself before he went back down to that main bathroom in the lobby where he found Richie aimlessly playing with the agalets of his sweater.
“Here” Eddie tossed them at Richie whoo hastily caught most of it.
“Merci Monsieur” Richie said in his best (Worst) french accent. He closed the stall door and began getting dressed.
Eddie leaned his back up against the door and waited a beat before “Stan and Big Bill finally got together” Eddie giggled.
“Shut. Up. Really?” Richie suddenly opened the stall door, causing Eddie to stumble as that’s what he was leaning on. Richie still was not wearing anything aside from the sweater so Eddie’s eyes immediately shot up to meet his boyfriend’s which were wide and in shock.
“Yes really! Now put some pants on” Eddie laughed and pushed Richie back into the stall before he closed the door once again. He could hear Richie giggling from inside the stall. “Hurry up we need to make it so no one finds out we left” Eddie tried to keep a straight tone.
Richie finished changing and gave Eddie his sweater back so he could hide his own ears. He followed Eddie out of the bathroom and back to their room. But just as they rounded the corner in the main hallway leading to their room, they saw Mr Brock talking to Mrs Stuart in the dead center of the hallway.
“Shit!'' Eddie yelped. He quickly shut his mouth and yanked Richie back to the other side of the corner with him. “How the hell are we gonna get passed him?” He wondered.
“Uhh- Here let me try something…” Richie’s voice drifted off as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and started sending out a text.
“What are you-“
“Wait” Richie held up a hand as if to silence Eddie.
“-What?”
Richie raised his eyebrows but kept his eyes on his phone, “Keep waiting!”.
They both stopped at the sudden sound of a door creaking open. The boys peaked around the corner and witnessed Beverly Marsh come out of her room with a blanket around her waist. They used their other ears to tune in.
“-I don’t have any! And none of the other girls have any” Beverly complained.
“Are you sure you have uh- it?” Mr Brock asked, he uncomfortably shifted from one foot to another.
“Yes of course I’m fucking sure! Do you honestly think I wouldn’t know when I got my damn period” Bev gritted her teeth.
“Ms Marsh please keep your voice down” Mr Brock tried to smile but failed.
Beverly glanced over her shoulder and sent a glare towards the boys, telling them ‘go now’.
“Beverly I must have some on me” Mrs Stuart began rifling through her purse.
Richie took Eddie’s hand and slowly began creeping behind the teachers backs towards their room.
Beverly kept them distracted long enough until they made it to the door. Then just as they slid into their room, Beverly clutched her stomach and nodded to whatever they had been saying. Mrs Stuart got something out of her purse and discreetly handed it towards Beverly, she took it gratefully and shuffled back into her room.
the moment the door closed to the boys room, they were met with a burst of gasps. Richie and Eddie looked to see who was the source of said gasps and found Bill and Stan, making out on the bed, shirtless.
“OH DEAR GOD!” RIchie exclaimed. He fanned his face as if he were an old victorian woman.
“Get a room!” Eddie groaned.
Stanley rolled off of Bill, nearly falling off of the bed while doing so.
Bill cracked a grin, “We-well we did have one-“
“Yeah before you came!” Stan shot back from where he was on the edge of the bed, obviously a little pissed by the interruption.
Bill waved him off, “H-How was the fuh-fuh-full moon?” Bill asked curiously.
Eddie’s face went blank, as did his head.
Neither of them had time to respond because their door opened seconds after. “Hello- Oh! Good to see you boys are already ready! The tide rises in 20 so let’s get going” He motioned for them to get a move on.
Stanley and Bill quickly pulled their shirts on and packed the little things they had out. Since they only had their school supplies because they hadn't planned to stay the night. Everyone was ready and they left the room to meet up with the rest of the group down in the main lobby.
The rest of The Losers greeted them excitedly, happy to see they made it out in one piece. But no one directly asked about it, everyone complained about their shitty sleep and how excited they were to get off of this island. Eddie momentality zoned out and tuned into the conversation that the main bellhop was having with Janet the tour guide.
“Have you seen Elizah this morning?” He asked quietly, but nothing was ever quiet enough for Eddie to hear.
“No… Last night she left in a hurry, said she had some unfinished business to get to” Janet shrugged, not given any further information.
The hair on the back of Eddie’s neck stood tall as his body froze. Apparently Richie was listening too, he slung his arm around Eddie’s shoulders and pulled him a little closer. Just then the teachers began leading the group to the exit, towards the busses. “Let’s get on this bus and out of here” He whispered down to Eddie.
The bus ride home was quiet. The Losers talked about the first 20 minutes, but not about the full moon, they knew that this was certainly not the place to do it. Ben and Mike were the only ones who stayed awake out of the seven Losers. On the way back Beverly opted to sit alone because she and the girls in her room stayed up until 4 binging the newest season of Turtle Creek on TV. During that time Ben introduced Mike to The Jonas Brothers, he explained the enteried of their TV show, Jonas and the storyline to both Camp Rock movies. They also listened to some of their first albums with Ben’s dual headphone adapter. Mike was happily surprised at how much he enjoyed their music.
When they finally reached Derry High, it was noon. All of the students rushed off of the bus, nearly trampling over Mr Brock in the process.
Maggie and Wentworth Tozier had taken the day off work (as they usually do the day after the full moon) to go see their son. They had found a spot near the back of the parking lot and waited anxiously with the rest of the parents in the loading area. When the bus pulled up the two parents’ nerves only escalated the longer they watched students pile off of the bus and split up in little groups.
Finally, they saw the all too familiar sight of their lanky son in his oversized hat and baggy sweater.
“Richie!” Maggie nearly gasped as she pulled Went with her towards him.
Richie sped up once he saw his parents,“Hey” his voice wavered as he was slightly overwhelmed by his emotions. That was when he realized how exhausted he was. A full moon, little to no sleep, and an encounter with an evil witch? That can really drain someone.
Maggie ran to her son and pulled him into a tight hug. “I’m so glad you’re okay” She whispered, almost in tears.
Richie felt another pair of arms wrap around him, recognizing them almost immediately as his father’s long, strong arms.
Eddie had let Richie run ahead of him when he spotted his parents. He felt a feeling of longing wash over him when Richie pulled his arm away from him. He watched as Richie was enveloped in a massive hug by his two, loving, parents. His heart ached as he could almost see the love radiate off of their little group hug.
After a moment, Went loosened up, tilted his head upwards and glanced up at Eddie. “Come on in here, son” He requested as he opened an arm up, making room for Eddie.
He looked up at them, his heart swelling, “Oh No, I don’t mean to intrude” Eddie slowly shook his head.
Maggie turned her head and her gaze landed on Eddie, “Come here Eddie” She smiled warmly, something he never got from his mother. “You’re a part of the family now”.
And with that, Eddie couldn’t hold in the tears any longer. His eyesight blurred as the tears welled in his eyes. He didn’t respond, only nodded quickly and with a wobbly smile he rushed into their big hug. Family. Finally.
~
“... So I had to leave, unless I wanted to die. I came here, like my dad did. And I found Richie” He glanced down at their intertwined fingers. “And all you guys” Eddie looked around at all of The Losers who surrounded him, his real family.
It was now Sunday. The day after The Losers returned home from their very eventful field trip to the small island of Balmoral. As the group had lots to talk about, Eddie agreed that it was best that they all meet up at the entrance of the forest so he’d be able to show them the way to his house. Now they sat on the couch in the late Frank Kaspbrak’s house.
“But you guys can’t tell anyone. Seriously, we’d be in deep shit if anyone ever found out about this” Richie informed them, gesturing to his wolf tail that swayed freely behind him.
Bill nodded approvingly, “O-Of course! Right guys?” He looked at the others who all nodded with him.
“Yeah- oh my god, Eddie that’s terrible” Beverly’s eyes looked sad. She had been through her fair share of family troubles so she (almost) understood what Eddie was going through.
Ben nodded and gave her a solemn smile, carefully placing his hand on top of hers on the couch. He gave her hand a small squeeze that caused the corner of her lips to curl up a little. “Your secret is safe with us” He told them.
“Yeah of course! Losers stick together, right?” Mike’s tone changed a little. It was a little happier than the others which was a nice change.
“Right” Bill smiled.
“I’ve kept the secret this long, and I can’t really stop now” Stan stated as he sat up to put his elbows on his knees.
“Oh yeah- How did Stan find out before the rest of us?” Beverly piped up. Her hand turned over to lace her and Ben’s fingers together. The tips of Ben’s ears burned as he glanced down at them.
Richie had opened his mouth, ready to start talking but Stan spoke instead. “He lost his temper after I whooped his ass at checkers” Stan grinned proudly as he sat up tall. He got some good chuckels for that.
“Hey! You were so cheating” Richie protested as Eddie rolled his eyes from beside him.
“Whatever,” Stan waved his hand, “Your eyes still changed and your fangs came out” he reminded the wolf.
“Yeah we’re gonna have to practise that Chee” Eddie chimed in as he also recalled the various times Richie has wolfed out on him. Of course things would be easier now that Richie has now gone through his first full transformation but now he has to learn to control the shift. If not, that can lead to some very bad situations.
“Chee? Oh yeah forgot you guys are dating” Beverly smirked, “When did that start?” She wondered.
“It hasn't been that long” Richie blushed. He lovingly looked at his boyfriend and smiled.
A beat passed where the Losers just sat in comfortable silence. Bill was the first one to speak up and break the silence “Wuh-What about the Council?” He asked.
Eddie almost froze. After everything, he’s getting better at discussing the council, also seeing Elizah Brightmoon fall off a fucking cliff helped calm his nerves. “We took out Elizah… So I think we should be okay” He shrugged.
“But what about the rest of the council? They wouldn’t be called a council if it was just one person” Stanley pointed out.
“No, there are others. But what was she saying about a force to keep everyone in? And all that stuff about your dad” Richie didn’t dig too deep on the subject of Frank Kaspbrak as he knew it was still a sensitive topic for Eddie.
Eddie glanced away as he recalled an old memory, “The Council always wanted to keep The Ancestors safe. And once they had this crazy plan to make a forcefield so strong and powerful that it would basically forever separate the two worlds” He shivered at the thought. “My dad though… He fought it. It was a weak idea to begin with, they didn’t have the means to make something so powerful so it was an easy idea to dismantle. But what she said about my dad- I knew he had power, but a high priest? That’s a totally different level of power. And to think that I might be able to obtain some of that…” Eddie let his voice drift off as he looked down at his hands. Hoping that maybe they had the answers written there the whole time.
“What if they cuh-cuh-come after us?” Bill’s stutter intensified at the thought.
Richie shook his head, “They have no way of tying us to her death. Even if they do find that body it’ll be all raw and mangled” He smirked at the thought.
Eddie straightened up and looked around at his boyfriend and his closest friends, “But if they do- We’re The Losers, we’ll figure it out… We always do.”

Holly.Shit. Wow, I really can’t believe Everfalls is done, it’s over… This story was my first big fan fic for the IT fandom, and the funny thing is, this started off as a one shot. Literally! I found Shark Teeth on instagram and said I’d write a one shot about their art (with their permission ofc) and I got 44 pages in when my buddie, Reagan, pointed out that one shots are almost never that long. So I made it into a fan fic. And that fan fic was a truly amazing adventure and I’m oh so very happy with the final product and how everything turned out. I planned each chapter so carefully and made sure everyone was in character so I hope you guys liked it!
Thank you to my two amazing betas, Rose and Richie! You guys gave me feedback and your true opinions on each chapter and I truly appreciate both of you!
At the end of the day, I think it’s pretty fitting that I wrote this final chapter on the night of a full moon, it really added to the atmosphere.
Let me know if you’d like a sequel! I’ve got some ideas in mind but I’ve gotta make sure people want it before I start anything. So comment! IF over 15 people want more, then more they shall receive!
As this is the final chapter I’ve gotta remind you guys to go check out my other social medias, Instagram (Stellar.Cosplays), Tumblr, (stellar-cosplays), even my youtube (Alley’s World). Also don’t forget to check out my other fan fictions! Here’s my master list, or go check out my account and you’ll find them all there.
THis story means so much to me and I’m so happy I got to share it with you guys. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Once again, thank you all so much for everything.
For the final time, that’s all from me, catch you on the flip side.
So Long and Goodnight.

Candy lives a half-life for a little while. Defeated fully and looking over her shoulder. A break comes when someone else manages to release an article on the spree of Roofies and disappearances in the city and all the possible connections. It wasn’t much, there were no names, no fingers pointed or anyone blamed. But it was something and she’d needed a win, no matter how small it may have been.
Eddie was relieved, and so was Venom to a degree. Although he was still steadfast on being able to protect everyone, he was glad Eddie felt better. It allowed for the extra energy he spent being anxious to no longer be used up and therefore not make Venom as ravenous all the time. Edgier meant more food and Eddie was never in the mood to let Venom take control and have his fun. But now everyone had settled back into a nice pattern. Something… normal. As far as normal for them went.
A week later with the air clear and Venom fed, they go out for the evening. Something fun and light and intimate. It was fall now, a comfort in the upcoming holidays and the jitters of her secretly asking him to meet her parents after telling him something she should have long ago. Venom knew it, but telling Eddie and his bumbling nature had been hard. So Candy planned on telling him exactly how she felt that night. To let it all out and tell him what he meant to her, as a friend, a partner, a lover. To let him know she saw him in her future, and to ask him if he saw her in his.
Any serious discussions no matter how welcome and joyous they might be were far from Eddie's mind. They walked through the carnival like children with sticky mouths and hands full of candy when they weren’t in each other’s grasp. A laugh-filled trip through a haunted house, a stuffed Alpaca Eddie got way too into winning her and spent entirely too much money on goes home with them too.
They sit at the back patio, Candy's head on his shoulder, arms wrapped around one another and Venom quietly waiting in the wings. Fireworks from downtown we’re going off, a crispness to the air could be felt and in each other’s arms was the only place they wanted to be.
A ring at the door separates them. “That’ll be dinner! Didn’t take them long. Thought with the traffic from the festival it’d take longer.” She says with a pleasantly surprised look on her face.
“These explosions are aesthetically pleasing. Like the ones in July to celebrate the birth of America.”
“I see you paid attention.” Eddie nods approvingly, kicked back with a beer in his hand.
“I always pay attention.” He retorts. “Eddie.” Venom's tone and sudden stiffness brings a cool rush down Eddie's spine.
“What’s wrong?” Eddie whispers, feeling the tension.
————
Candy trots towards the door in her pajamas, bare feet soaking up the cool wood in the house.
“Candy?” A man asks as she opens the door.
“Yeah, do I need to tip you here or on the app?” She asked, fumbling with her phone.
“We tried to give you a tip but you didn’t listen.”
Her hair stands on end and her eyes shoot up wide and afraid. And they should’ve been. The man is holding a gun. “What do you want?” She whispers with a serious face and tone. Every muscle in her body was tense. She didn’t even breathe.
“All you have to do is stop. Just shut the fuck up about it. Stop trying to save the day Nancy Drew, this shit doesn’t fly in the real world. You shut up and it goes away.” he waves the gun around as he speaks.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that. What you’re doing is wrong.” There are tears in her eyes for too many reasons to name. She’d had self-defense classes. She could get the gun, yell for Eddie and this would be over. The seconds felt like hours as they say in life or death moments.
“I’ll say it again. You shut up. And it goes away. I have to give you your final warning.” He extends his arm, gun pointed down and Candy sees her moment. She tries to get in close and gain control, but the man had an itchy trigger finger. It slipped, him only being a messenger to scare her into silence. But it backfired. For everyone.
————-
“The door.” Is all Venom says before he encases Eddie. He was faster than Eddie could be and took in the scene in front of him with quicker decision making.
Candy was on the floor and bleeding with multiple gunshots to her torso. A man staring in the doorway in horror at them with a gun in his hand. As Eddie screams inside the cage of goo, Venom eats the attacker without a second thought. Now there was no man.
Candy cries out, back against the wall as she reaches out for them. “Eddie…” She wheezes and holds her chest.
“Shit. Shit. Shit.” He was never good at hiding his emotions when it came to worry for those he cared about.
“I... they…”
“Shhh, don’t speak. I’m calling the ambulance.” He fumbles and drops his phone into the rapidly growing pool of blood from underneath her.
“Eddie.” Venom says, tendrils moving down his hands as they touch Candy's pulse points.
“Eddie I-“ her eyes flutter as he cries and groans in fear, his phone continually slipping from his fingers as she sighs out his name, rapidly losing consciousness.
“Shhh shh we’ve got you baby. Don’t worry. I’ll call- SHIT!”
“Eddie she won’t make it.” Venom calmly states even though it helps nothing.
“We have to DO something we just can’t. FUCK!” His voice breaks and he holds her face as he cries.
Her head rests in his hand and she smiles for him, her vision tunneling. “Eddie I l-“
“Shhh save your energy Candy. Baby, I’ve got you.”
“Eddie I can help but… we have to separate.”
“What?”
“I can’t bond with her. I can try. To heal her, save her.”
He sees her go limp in his grasp and he sobs, hunched over and shaking. “Do it please just- FUCK!” He screeches and shakes her. “Save her, man!”
A warm embrace she finds herself in. Only the thought of “Eddie, I love you. I’m sorry.” In her mind. It’s all Venom hears as he takes her over, connecting to her every fiber and cell as he heals the wounds.
Eddie is left in his own personal hell as Venom works. He’s alone. Utterly for the first time in what felt like forever. There was no voice in his head but his own, and despite not holding the symbiote, his body had never felt heavier or harder to function. Candy lay lifeless, as Eddie sobbed and held her, choking out please, feeling helpless in the puddle of blood on the floor. If Venom had brought him back, surely he could help her.
———-
“She’ll live.” Venom says, a sluggish head forming from her shoulder and plopping onto Eddie's head.
Eddie can’t answer. He’s too busy sobbing into her hair to speak, he only nods and pulls Venom into his embrace.
“The superficial wounds are closed. I’m working on her heart now. It’ll be slow. Very intricate, human organs. Lots of blood to make.” He says weakly. “Wash her, take her to bed. Get us chocolate. Something. Need. Energy.” He hisses as he sinks back into her.
Eddie does as he’s told. Stripping them both and showering them off, leaving the bloody clothes on the shower floor. He puts her in bed, shorts and a hoodie of his she knows he likes. He touches her so gently, and she feels it, in a way. Venom tells her Eddie has her, and they’ll make sure everything’s okay.
Eddie left to deal with keeping the blood hidden as the food arrived. He looked a mess, red-faced and puffy-eyed but luckily the young guy didn’t seem to care. He forgets the food and tosses it in the fridge. Locking everything and now to the task of cleaning up the blood.
He’s never cleaned up a body’s worth of blood before. Towels were no help and paper was too weak. He gathers it all into a pile, slouching it into a garbage bag. He throws their now soaked and blood-stained clothes in as well and tries to make the place looked decent. He can’t do much for the blood spatter on the light-colored walls but, paint could fix that later right?
He falls exhausted into the bed next to her. He watches her breathing, color back in her face now that had been a ghastly white. “Is she...in pain?” He asks, feeling the tiredness take over his muscles as he tries to push back her hair and hold her hand.
“No.” Venom quietly answers. “Not physical.”
“Good.” He nods. “Wait, what does that mean?” He double-takes.
“She is distraught. Emotionally.”
“She DID almost die.”
“Yes. She understands. And wants me to tell you she knows who it was.”
“WHAT?” His brow furrows and his eyes go wide, his weak and human body ready to defend her anyway.
“It was a message. The men she was trying to expose. They found out it was her. A snitch she presumes from the tone, she says.”
“Can she hear me?” He asks.
“No. But I can talk to her for you if you wish. She has many things to say.”
“Like what? About the guys who shot her?”
“No. About you.”
“Me? What about me? What’d I do? What does she need?”
“You. Just you.” Venom’s voice reflects the loving nature of her request. “What she wants to say is that she loves you. What she won’t admit is she wants to marry you. She doesn’t want to leave you as much as she doesn’t want you to leave her. She loves us Eddie. Us.” A weak sigh as he feels it all so intensely in the new body.
“She… loves us?”
“Very much so. She was going to tell us tonight. Tell you tonight. Wants us in her future. To… meet her parents she says.”
“I’ll do anything she wants.” He laughs and kisses her forehead. “I’ll marry her as soon as she can stand if she would. I love her. Tell her I love her so much. I thought I’d lost her and I’ll never let her get hurt again. I’m so sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry for. You warned her, she says. And you were right.”
“Are you sure that’s her saying that?” Eddie laughs and kisses her cheek.
“She thought you’d say that.” Venom ripples happily at the love he was being sent. “You should ask her to marry you. After this has passed. I didn’t mention that part to her. She loves us. She will say yes.”
“I need a ring.” He says with rapidly moving eyes. “But we can do that right?”
“Yes we can.” Venom trills happily.
———
Venom totally healed Candy. Not so much as a bit of bacteria out of place when he leaves her. She awakes in her bed with a gasp and Eddie sitting upright beside her.
“Hey baby, it’s okay. We’re here. You’re good. Take it easy.” He rushes out as he holds her head and chest steady.
“Eddie I was… I thought I was dead there for a minute.” She speaks softly and takes his hand with wide eyes.
“You were. But Venom fixed you. Good as new. Not a stitch out of place now.” He tells her proudly.
“Eddie.. I…” She feels exhausted but really good otherwise. Like she’s been hit with a truck but then injected with adrenaline. She lunges forward and wraps her arms around his neck. “I almost didn’t get to tell you I loved you. And I do. So much.” She whines into his neck and he holds her back just as tightly with a soft smile as he kisses her head.
“I love you too. The most. So much. You’re not going anywhere Candy. I’ve got you.”
“I don’t think he meant to kill me.” She says with a stark change in tone. “I think it was a warning. He would’ve shot me in the head otherwise.”
“Shhh. We don’t have to talk about it yet.”
“That was…” She lets out a sigh and slumps, letting him direct her against his chest as he leaned back in the bed.
“You’re okay now. Just rest for a minute.” He shushes her and she accepts it.
“She is right. Her logic is on point. The angle, the weapon and words… all point to a warning and not a hit.”
“Venom we don’t have to-“
“See?” She mutters into his chest.
“Perhaps if we… lay low. Stop prying…” Venom reluctantly suggests.
“He’s right. I’m so sorry for risking it. For putting us all in danger.”
“S’alright Candy.” Eddie insists with a kiss to her head once again. Her hair soft and fluffy from the bath he’d given her. “If that’s true then… we can rest now, right? Take it easy. Just… us. Not take this for granted?”
“You’re right. We work too hard. I miss you too much. I need you Eddie. All the time.” She says weakly and squeezes his torso as he pouts and returns the affection. “Move in with me. Stay here. I’ll take time off work, so can you. We can hideaway. We can catch up for lost time and just… exist.”
“Really?”
“Yes. I love you and I want you around. I want you to meet my parents. I want you involved in my life, Eddie. I want you here. With me.”
“Then I will. Don’t have to convince me. I’m already sold.” He gives her a soft smile and she kisses him unexpectedly in response.
“I love you.” She whispers and holds him tight.
“I love you too. We’ll figure it all out. I’ll move in. We’ll take some time off.”
“I feel like I’ve been away for a year. I feel like I miss you so much and you’re right here.”
“I was here the whole time. Never leaving your side Candy, don’t ever question it.”
————-
With every bit of confidence they could muster, Candy and Eddie walked into their boss ' offices and said they were taking some time
off. Whenever someone asked, personal reasons was the answer given and due to their contracts, they weren’t left with too much of a choice in the matter.
A month. An entire month of just them. They huddled up in their little home. Like bunnies, they snuggled, fucked, ate, napped and played. With sight of what was important, everything was lighter, clearer and nothing had ever felt so right. She felt like she'd gotten a second chance, and it was all Venom's doing. She was eternally in debt to him and Eddie. Their long nights and days spent together let her think about what was most important outside of a career. What did she want to leave behind and still do that she had been pushing back in the name of work? It was time to prioritize.
--------------------
They didn’t leave the house for four whole weeks. They did nothing but enjoy each other in every way they knew how. And with a few nights left of their getaway, Eddie knew exactly how to finalize the best few weeks of his life.
“Keep your eyes closed alright? Just trust me.”
“I do.” She replies happily as she covers them with her hands. He’s taken her downtown and showed her off, fed her the best food money could buy and they got to remember what being around civilized people was like. They much preferred the sanctuary of their home. They laughed a little too loud, kissed a little long for everyone else’s taste. But no one else mattered anymore.
So as the night moved into early morning, a walk through the architecture of downtown skyscrapers, hand in hand, he stops her at the foot of one. This one being the tallest of them all. And thus having the best view. If you knew how to get there.
She feels an odd whoosh, a rush of air that goes on for a minute but she keeps still, keeps her eyes shut as she feels Venom's embrace. She feels her feet on solid ground again, and she's thankful for it.
“Okay. Open your eyes but STAY CALM okay? You’re fine. I promise. Venoms wrapped around you, we’re both fine.”
“Are you convincing me or yourself?” She asks with a nervous laugh as she uncovers her eyes but keeps them shut.
“Uh… a little of both?” His voice breaks and she finds his hand and takes it.
She opens her eyes and her arm reaches for Venom's tight grip around her waist. They were at the base of the needle at the top of the building. Only enough room to stand, she’s left to gawk as she realizes she’s safe.
“Oh my god.” She whispers, taking in the breathtaking view. Everything seemed so far away, the lights and sounds so concentrated at ground level seemed like faint melodies and twinkling stars up so high. “It’s… this is beautiful.” Her eyes can’t leave the sight as her hand stays firm in his and wrapped in Venom's body.
“This view was the beginning of me learning to love earth.” Venom adds.
“I can see why.” She shares the sentiment.
“I now know it’s the humans. Like Eddie. Like you. That make it worth staying.”
“You’re very sweet Venom, thank you.” She strokes his happily rippling mass.
“I wanted to give you something no one else could.” Eddie takes her full attention. “I know there’s only so much I can do, and I’m not… we’re not what you planned to be with but, we’re thankful every day that you are.”
She smiles and pouts slightly before Venom brings them chest to chest. “Eddie, baby, you’re more than I could’ve ever hoped for.” She insists with a kiss to his cheek.
“And so are you. You’re, everything to me. Everything I wanna be, everything I’m not. You.. you complete me Candy and I don’t wanna go back to being alone. Not without Venom, not without you. I want you to stay. I wanna make sure you stay.” He insists with hands to her cheeks that surprise her, intensity and fear she wasn’t used to seeing in Eddie.
Venom swirls up her arm, tiny tendrils taking her hand and holding a ring that shone as bright as the city lights below.
“I wanna spend the rest of my life with you, Candy Miller. Would you do that for me? Would you marry me?” He asks with hopeful eyes that make her chest ache at the thought he might believe even for a second she’d say no.
“I’ll stay with you beyond that.” She promised and kisses him softly. “Of course I’ll marry you.” She laughs against his lips. A warm embrace against the cold winds up so high. A kiss that faded and turned into happy sighs as they caressed each other’s faces in excitement. “You’ve made my life absolutely insane.” She laughs, “But I couldn’t stand it without you now. Without you both.”
“We love you Candy.” Venom almost sings and wraps himself around her head to nuzzle her in the form of a slug-like round head.
“I love you boys.” She lets out a huge sigh and Eddie beams at her. It went perfectly. She was perfect. It was all so… perfect.
“It will be perfect.” Venom whispers into his head.
Eddie questions him wordlessly.
“You’ll see. One more present.” He insists inwardly. “Ready to go home?” He asks Candy.
“I believe so. I want to cuddle up with my babies.” She teases and kisses Eddie again.
“And you will. Keep tight. Eyes shut.” He says as they’re sucked together into his darkness and taken in leaps and bounds back to the safety of their bedroom.
“That feels sooo weird.” She laughs stumbling back and sitting on the bed as she’s released.
“You get used to it.” Eddie grins, he had a feeling that he wouldn’t be able to stop for awhile.
“I have one more present.” Venom announces, a more fully formed head to speak to them both. “It is something you both wanted.”
They both wait with a shared glance as Venom vibrates with excitement. He moves Eddie closer to the bed and stands up Candy as they look at each other with laughter in their eyes he ripples again.
“Ready?” He asks with a wide smile.
“Yeah, I wanna know why you’re acting so weird.” Eddie playfully jabs him.
“Eddie…” He takes one of his hands. “Candy…” He takes hers and takes a deep breath that was only for show as he didn’t need to physically breathe. He places Eddie's hand to her stomach and places hers on top. “You’re going to have a baby.” He says with tiny tendrils flicking about in celebration.
“A- What? I’m afraid I can’t be, hun, I’ve got an IUD remember?” She looks at him confused along with Eddie.
“It was destroyed along with your uterus in the shots. I removed it and healed you. I can taste the difference in your sweat. The hormones. They’ve changed.”
She gulps and her hand clenched around Eddies. “Are you… serious?”
“Yes. I repaired you beyond what you were before, you’re a perfectly balanced machine now.”
“We’ve been having sex this whole month and... I…” She feels a little woozy and Eddie braces her back. Careful to read her reactions.
“Are you serious?” He asks him again.
“Yes! Why do you keep asking? I wouldn’t have waited to tell you if I hadn’t thought it would make a good present.”
“It… is a good present?” She can hear the break in Eddie's voice. His eyes moving to hers that were still wide in shock.
“I’m… I’m gonna… WE are gonna… OH GOD WILL IT BE AN ALIEN?!” She shouts and Venom rumbles out a laugh.
“No. Sadly not. This is all Eddies work.”
“Eddie.” She squeaks out, His high brows move closer to her own. “I’m pregnant.” She states with disbelief. A pause that makes him nervous then an almost maniacal laugh escapes her. “I’m pregnant.” She speaks again and laughs. “Oh my God Eddie. We’re gonna have a baby. A baby.” She laughs and throws her head into his chest.
“Please tell me these are happy crazy laughs.” He inquires hesitantly and she squeezes him tight.
“After I was shot. I thought about a lot of things. How I spent my time. What I wanted out of life.” She begins without looking at him yet.
“She’s always wanted to be a mother. But never knew when the right time would be.” Venom makes it easier for her, a loving stroke of her hair and pat to her back.
“Exactly. I forget you we’re in my head.” She lets out a sniffle. “My mom's gonna be so happy.” She laughs and it turns to tears. “Eddie we're gonna have a baby.” She starts to sob as he laughs at first at the absurdity of it all. But with the life he’d led, honestly, a baby was about the least crazy thing. A baby was entirely normal in comparison.
“We’re gonna have a baby.” He chokes out before the contagious laughing tears get their hooks into him as well. “We’re getting married and we're having a baby.” He lets out a loud sigh of relief.
“This is crazy.” She laughs as they rest forehead to forehead and wipe away the other’s tears.
“Is it? Compared to…” He motions to Venom whose big opal eyes were brimming with his version of tears. A sympathetic reaction to his host's emotions.
They burst out laughing at it all. Because what else could happen that would be more surprising than what they’d already been through? This mantra gave them the outlook they had needed. They would take it all in stride now from experience, they would work through the bad and cherish the good. They kept in mind how absurd it all was, and laughter followed them through it all. Because what could be crazier than what life had already thrown at them?

Better than food?
Masterlist
Pairing: Eddie Brock x Reader, Venom x Reader
Warning: Fluff
Words: 1120 words Eddie's knuckles were hovering millimeters away from your door. His courage was leaving him with every passing second while his embarrassment was dramatically rising. He woke up this morning with the idea of finally confessing his feelings for you and passed the whole day preparing a speech and getting himself together. On his way to your flat, a sign caught his eyes.
"Do something today that your future self will thank you for."
The brunette took it as a sign of fate and his steps became more enthusiastic. Then he arrived at your home and lose all his determination. You were probably eating. In all the people he met in his life, he never met someone like you. You were always eating. In a meeting? Eating an apple. In your car? Eating a sandwich. Going for a walk? Never forget your muffin. When you were kids and that the teachers in elementary school forbid you to eat? Eddie never knew how you managed to hide so much food on yourself, but you did. Sometimes you would even give him some and still have enough for the whole day.
Sighing, Eddie was about to turn around and find a bar to drown his heartache when a force took control of his fist and made it collide with the wood. His eyes went wide and he instinctively turned his head to the side where a black alien usually stare down at him. Only, this time he was alone in the corridor. A low chuckling in his guts told him that Venom was amused by his cowardness. Eddie was tempted to answer with a fist to his stomach, but he would hurt himself more than the symbiote. By experience, a simple 8 letters word was the most effective way to get to the big man-eating creature. You fucking parasite!
Eddie should have known that fate would be a bitch. A sharp pain in his abdomen made him fall to his knees just when you opened your door. Oh, how he wished he could have made his escape. You had to be so damn gorgeous in your summer pajama while he looked like a homeless guy in his sweater. More than that, he was almost kissing your feet, which made you step back.
"Eddie, are you alright?" Your voice seemed to ease the pain. Looked like Eddie wasn't the only one who smoothes at your voice.
"Yeah, I'm okay." He got back to his feet and avoided your gaze. Scratching the back of his head, he glanced at the ceiling for a second. Maybe he would find some courage there. Or some guidance on what to do next. But there was nothing. Nothing more than a little spider web.
"So…" you trailed off. You were swinging yourself on your heels, waiting for his explanation as to why he knocked on your door. None came. He blushed under your gaze and thanked the gods when you invited him inside. "I was making tacos. Want some?"
He followed your small form to the kitchen where your meal was waiting. The sight of food made his stomach growl and Venom started chanting his usual food food food. Eddie noticed your smirk and couldn't stop himself from staring.
He stayed there for what felt like minutes but really, it was merely for seconds before you turned your attention toward him, brow raised. Eddie quickly averted his gaze while his heartbeat skyrocketed.
A hand on his cheek made him jump. "What's the problem, Eddie? Did you or Venom do something stupid again?" You chuckled.
His muscles relaxed and he unconsciously leaned in your touch. He closed his eyes and Venom stopped talking, enjoying the contact. It was now or never. Ignoring her last question, he tried to remember the speech he elaborated but his damn brain seemed to have stopped working at the moment.
"Since we were kids, I always felt like I had to be with you. Follow you everywhere. I first thought that it was because you were a magnet for trouble and I needed to protect you, but when I asked Anne to marry me" he watched his left hand for a second, eyeing the spot where a ring used to be, "and we stopped seeing each other as often, I realised that I wasn't happy. Then all the shit with the Life Foundation happened," he moved his hands in the air, trying to make his point, "and in the middle of my chaos, there was you. You never abandoned me, never gave up on me and never judge me for what I did. Y/N, you're the reason I'm smiling again." He lifted his gaze toward you, hope filling his heart. "I came here today to tell you that I love you."
You were watching him, seemingly chewing the inside of your cheek. The absence of emotion on your face concerned him. Sure he wanted you to be excited, delighted, happy or something. He would even take it if you were disappointed or angry, but your blank face started to make him uneasy. Suddenly, he started to feel really hot.
"Sorry I'm not reacting to this news with appropriate excitement, I'm really hungry." You stated matter of factly. "I haven't eaten since lunch." You eyed the food before you and returned to him.
All the stress accumulated within him evacuated through a heartful laugh. He should have known. He laughed so hard that his stomach started to hurt and he almost fell on the floor again. You shook your head and started eating your tacos. Eddie calmed himself after a moment and took a seat next to you. He took a taco for himself and started eating.
He was optimistic because you said that you were lacking excitement. You knew you would be excited if hunger wasn't consuming you.
Then, in the middle of your second tacos, you dropped everything and stared at him with big eyes. Your mouth was forming inaudible words and tears formed in the corner of your eyes. Smiling, Eddie let go of his food and cradled her cheek as she did for him moments ago. She let out a laugh and smile in his hand.
"You don't know how long I've waited for you to say this."
More tears run down her cheeks, but Eddie couldn't care. His hand on your cheek went to the back of your head while the other placed itself on your tight. Then, all he knew was that he finally got to taste your lips. Feel their softness.
Out of breath, you pulled back, smiling.
"I never thought I would ever say this but this is much better than food."
You pulled him back in for another kiss.

Here’s Why || Venom
(In which Eddie finds out the truth)
Eddie’s apartment stands quiet and still in the early hours of the night, nothing but the soft sounds of his fingers hitting his keyboard echoing in his small dining table.
He takes a sip of his coffee.
Should he? Should he not? He’s been debating this for almost an hour and a half now, readying himself. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try.
Eddie types a few more words into his laptop before leaning back into his chair and stretching.
“Hey, V?” He calls into the small space of his apartment.
The symbiote’s voice echoes inside his head. “Yes, Eddie?”
“There’s something that’s been on my mind lately.”
“We are inside your mind, Eddie.”
Eddie rolls his eyes and shifts in his chair, “Not what I meant. As in, I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
“What is it?”
He hesitates for a moment.
“So... you’ve said before that a host needs to match its symbiote so they can both live, right?”
“Yes.”
“And there can be multiple people who match, right?”
“Only people who do not die.”
“Yeah, exactly, except... we match...”
“Yes, we do.”
“And other people match with you too.”
Venom paused. “...Yes.”
“Then,” Eddie swallowed. “Back when you were still trying to take over the world and kill all living things in it and stuff. When we first met... you said you wouldn’t get rid off me when I mentioned you killing me. ‘Said we were too good of a match.”
He felt Venom shifting inside his head, though whether that was a good thing or not, he didn’t know.
“We are.”
“But there are better matches out there than me.”
“Perhaps.” Venom didn’t like to dwell in the idea.
“Then why stay? Why not discard me once you used me for escaping the lab and finding a better match? Why settle for me?” Eddie fiddled with the sleeves of his black shirt, who also happened to be his symbiote. “Why me?”
He was answered with silence. The ticking of his watch now filled the empty room, marking the seconds of hesitation between Venom and Eddie’s question.
Eddie took another sip of his coffee and shut his laptop closed, patiently waiting for his response.
“Love?” He called.
“Hm.”
“You know you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”
“I want to.” Venom’s small head materialized from Eddie’s shoulder, a few of his tendrils already wrapping themselves around his arm. They paused for three more seconds before speaking. “It was my former host.”
Eddie’s eyebrow arched. “Former host?” He tacked his brain. “You mean Maria?”
Venom nodded.
“What about her?”
The little black blob sank down onto Eddie’s hand and rested there, humming. “She had known you well,” They said. “Before you met us, we already knew you.”
Eddie let this sink in. “Wait, you mean—“
“We saw you and Anne within the other dirty humans, giving us food. We saw you looking our way and meeting us. We saw you passing by our sidewalk everyday, engaging on light conversation, we saw you gifting us with... money.” Venom’s voice carried a light weight, as if lost in thought. He continued. “We saw you laughing at our jokes and smiling. We saw you getting newspaper from us and paying us even when you were not obligated too. Even when it cost you a meal.”
Eddie sat frozen, letting Venom’s words settle into his brain. A shy laugh left him, “Is... Is this you talking or— or something else?”
“Not us. Host.”
“Right, María.”
“But then...”
“Then?”
“We wanted it to be us.” The black tendrils snuck downwards and wrapped themselves around Eddie’s fingers instead. “We were interested in you.”
Eddie rubbed his symbiote‘s now materialized hand with his thumb. “And?”
“And then it was all we knew. Eddie Brock. Eddie Brock. Eddie Brock. Just a memory. Just a thought. But when we heard a noise inside our capsule and lifted our head to look—“
“There I was.”
“Yes.”
Another silence.
“Eddie opened the door and our host had jumped for help. She was already dying so—“
“You were killing her.” Eddie corrected, holding his coffee mug up to his lips again.
“We were.” Venom agreed. “But we never finished the job because—“
“You left her and went inside my body.”
The little blob nodded its head.
“So, Maria—“
“Was killed off by the humans in that place.”
“And you—“
“We,” Venom raised their head at eye level with Eddie. “Are here now.”
The answer hung in the air, all the questions Eddie had before flew out the window, leaving just him and his symbiote. His symbiote.
Eddie raised one of his hands and scratched at Venom’s head. “Yeah. Okay.”
They closed their eyes in contempt and tilted their head, “We did not want the Earth to be destroyed, Eddie. We did not want everyone to suffer.” They moved closer to Eddie until they booped against his lips. “We wanted you.”
A small smile stretched on Eddie’s lips, laughing shyly. “Yeah.”
“That is why we didn’t leave.”
“Right.”
“Is that alright?”
Eddie kissed the top of their head, “Yeah, it’s alright.”
He picked up his coffee mug and stood up, “How ‘bout a refill?”
Venom’s head piped up, “Tater tots?”
Eddie nodded, on his way to the kitchen. “Tater tots.”

Oops this became an essay
Day 2: Favorite Symbiote @symbruary I gotta say, my favorite Symbiote is a mix. Sometimes it’s Venom, sometimes its Sleeper, and sometimes its Scream. But, really, I think what makes me think of a Symbiote as my ‘favorite’ is how they’re portrayed.
Symbiotes have had a bad rep since the 2000s, whereas before 99% of the time they were viewed as either evil because of their nature (needing hosts to survive, but being mostly uncaring towards their hosts, leading to the host dying. Venom was the exception to the rule, and his children were not) or because of who they were bonded to (Donna, Cletus). Once the 2000s hit, and I suspect this is mostly because of the 2003 The Hunger and Venom run, where Eddie is functionally the victim for no reason, and Venom literally overtakes his personality, I believe in the case of the Venom run. Writers took this notion of what we in the fandom call “muh evil Symbiote” syndrome and ran with it. Venom became a villain not only to Spider-Man, but also to Eddie Brock, who was once it’s love interest and partner. Anti-Venom and Agent Venom were created from this, and while I do love both (and consider Agent Venom/Space Knight/GoTG Venom my favorite Symbiote-host combo), they’re just... Not Venom.
What I mean is, they don’t have that feel that the late 80s and 90s Venom had. Venom was harsh in their judgement of whether someone was innocent or not, sure, but they also were fair and kind to those who deserved it. Anti-Venom, being one-half Eddie and one-half non-sentient Symbiote, carries that same harsh judgement and compassion, yet he is misguided in his attempts and overall comes off as a prick. We can understand why, but it still doesn’t make much sense. Agent Venom, being one-half Venom Symbiote and one-half war veteran and ex-bully Flash Thompson, is also harsh in judgement but doesn’t exactly hold that compassion, at least on Flash’s end. He does have moments of being softer, especially towards the end of Venom Volume 2 and during Space Knight, but overall he takes a “shoot first, ask questions later” mindset when it comes to fighting. This makes total sense for a soldier, knowing that if he doesn’t take the first shot he will in turn be shot instead (especially knowing how he lost his legs), but it doesn’t make sense for Venom.
When it comes to Venom Volume 3, it was a breath of fresh air. We get the Symbiote being vindicated, leaving Flash due to the government’s involvement and finding someone who ends up abusing it, showing the host is the one who influences the Symbiote, not the other way around. Then Eddie, having moved past his “fuck Symbiotes” phase, and having lost his technically-grandchild, Toxin, seeks out his old partner and they immediately reconnect. It’s a rocky return, sure, but Mike Costa brings back the genuine feel of the 90s Venom comics. They’re loud, proud, caring yet harsh, and most importantly, happy together. They show the side that’s been missing for a decade and a half, and this is what I love most about Venom. This was when Venom was my favorite, along with the 90s. And then... Well, we all know what happened next.
Sleeper was a natural progression for the series. Venom and Eddie were happy, content, and in a routine they were both doing well in. Throwing a wrench into the formula is a great idea, to stir up drama. And, well, a baby is a great way to stir up drama. How will Eddie deal with it? How will Venom? Will they seek help, or try to do it themselves? The set up was amazing, subtle, and until you’re told the twist you don’t fully comprehend why Eddie’s acting so strange. But when you do, oh it’s a big eureka moment. Sleeper’s birth was done perfectly, with both putting in the effort and protecting their new child. Sleeper themselves had very little time to be a child, but all the same they were an adorable little blob-son.
First Host furthers Sleeper’s character, giving him ambitions and a goal to work towards with his father. When Sleeper bonds with Eddie, one might be scared that this will take a turn for the worst, especially considering what’s happened to Symbiotes bonded to Eddie in the past. Yet, nothing bad happens. Eddie tries his best to be a good host, while also saving his partner. When Sleeper bonds to the Skrull (sorry, I forgot her name), he does gain a more soldier-esque mindset, but that isn’t such a bad thing. Sleeper singlehandedly saves his parent, and is shown to be strong enough to take over and fully lobotomize a hundreds of years old Kree. He leaves for space, but we eventually find out he was a mercenary for a while. When Tel-Kar dies, he seems genuinely upset over it. Showing some remorse for having gotten him killed tells us he may actually fall into some of the pitfalls Symbiotes tend to do, despite how unique and independent he is. His wild protection for his family, especially during and after Absolute Carnage, is great to see. He goes out of his way to protect Dylan, and isn’t exactly the angriest when Dylan uses him to protect others. He takes the form of a cat to be non-threatening, and be able to slip past everyone and spy on him. Everyone assumes he’s just a house cat now, including the fact that he stops talking. Yet, when he’s needed, he’ll immediately stop his disguise and come to the rescue. I love Sleeper, I love that he’s independent and doesn’t need a host if he doesn’t want one. I love that he’s smart and cunning, and will voice his opinions loud and clear. His spunk and strong-willed nature makes him a very fun and interesting character. He may even be my overall favorite, edging out Venom with his uniqueness, not even going into his chemokinesis.
On the other hand, Scream is only a recent favorite. She, along with the other Life Foundation Symbiotes, were mostly ignored both by writers and the general public. They were created by extracting eggs from Venom, and forcefully growing them into adulthood pre-maturely. They were then forced to bond with several security guards who worked for the Life Foundation. While Eddie did try to be a father to them (read: Eddie standing completely naked with his arms outstretched going “COME TO ME, MY CHILDREN!” only to be knocked out by all 5), he could never truly come to see them as his own. Venom didn’t seem to care for them, probably not seeing them as their own children (and back then they didn’t care about their children, anyway). When Donna, the Foundation member who was bonded to Scream, was murdered, that was the end for Scream. She was buried with her. No-one expected her to ever come back. That was, of course, until Absolute Carnage. Scream came back, albeit under Carnage’s control, and found herself bonding to Patricia, who once had the Mania Symbiote. Scream came to her senses, and tried her best to protect her new host, her second chance. Until Carnage killed her, and threatened to kill the only other person to show her compassion, Andrea Benton. Seeing this as another chance, however slim, she took it and bonded to Andi. Andi managed to break free, escape, and survive Absolute Carnage, however she was now alone except for her Symbiote. She fell into a depression, to the point that she tried to commit suicide (that Scream stopped her from, saying she was there for her). Andi and Scream slowly grow closer, until they’re actually good partners. Andi clings to Scream as her only company left, and Scream clings to Andi as her new start, a chance to be a real hero now. Though Scream was not originally sentient, she grew to have her own personality, a cobbled mess of Patricia and Donna and Andi’s wants and passions, but very scared of losing her partner because of how her last two bonds went. So, when she’s threatened with Andi’s death, she takes it very seriously. Though right now we’re left on a cliffhanger, I can’t wait to see how Scream saves Andi (or, alternatively, how Andi uses the Hellmark to save Scream). Scream is a special case. She was originally a Symbiote I was indifferent towards, not really caring much about her or her host. However, when I heard of Patricia returning, I was very excited to see it. When she bonded to Andi, I was a bit apprehensive, but now I can honestly say I absolutely love Scream and Andi’s dynamic. I can’t say she’s my favorite overall, but she’s one of my top three.
I can’t choose a favorite, I feel like it’d be hard to decide for sure who I like most. It’d be like choosing a favorite child. However, I can say for sure that I like a certain type of Symbiote. I like Symbiotes that are emotive, expressive, open and honest, and actually have a voice and feelings, fears and passions. Symbiotes that aren’t just a plot device or tied entirely to their host. Symbiotes that are a little unique in the best way.

Destiny
(I just finished watching Venom, finally, and I loved it! I don’t know how many people may have already done fics on a similar idea to this, but it just popped into my head after the movie and I wanted to give it a shot. Also Tom Hardy is one of my biggest celeb crushes, so I wanted to write about him.)
Title: Destiny Requested? No. Plot: Your own symbiote, Acid, had a relationship with Venom on their planet, and so when the two find each other, it forces you and Eddie to spend a lot of time together, and that eventually leads into the two of you developing feelings for one another aswell. Word count: 1489
---***---
“Acid! Quit it! There are cameras everywhere, I really don’t need to spend another night in jail because of your need to make our lives more fun by shoplifting.“ You whisper yelled to the other entity that was residing inside you. Apparently, when the lab with the symbiotes got breached into, by kids who wanted their own powers after seeing the huge fight between two symbiotes, one managed to escape the compound by morphing with a dog. One of the teenagers brought it with him to serve as protection if they needed it. And the symbiote travelled to find a better host, only to set it’s sights on you as you exited the gym one morning, about half a year ago. Obviously, at first you were incredibly terrified by the fact there was another entity living inside you, and that you compatibility was so strong that you would start dying one without the other if separated. And so you learned to live with it, or better yet, her. If those other guys can do it, the ones who were seen fighting next to a train, so could you. You learned that the symbiotes name is Acid and that she was one of the female warriors on her planet before she was brought here, and so she was fond of the fact that you work out a lot and it was a nice little bonus to your compatibility.
She didn’t open up to you too much however, not really interested in what you think about her life on her home planet, until she saw another symbiote she recognized, after you managed to talk her into leaving the store without shoplifting. To say she was causing you trouble in your life at the beginning would be an understatement. Even though you were a very busy woman, working as a manager of a small company that created ads for brands, working out, and socializing with your friends a lot, she still felt like your life needed some changes and needed some excitement. You even spent a few nights in jail at a time, due to Acid trying to figure out what was it that you needed in your life in order to make it way more fun. And then she saw it, them. “Venom?“ You frowned when you heard her voice, but soon noticed a tall, black creature wondering the streets. He was handling some really bad people in your neighbourhood, some of the most notorious criminals, who prayed on your innocent neighbours along with their illegal business.
“What are you talking about Acid? Who is Venom?“ You asked her as you eyed the creature roughing up a few guys in front of you. You knew you could count on Acid to help you in case you get attacked, but once she spoke, you realized you had no reason to be afraid. Acid sighed and quickly recounted you the story of her and Venom. It seems that the two of them were lovers on their planet and they got separated upon being brought here, and she thought she would never see him again, but now she has him in front of her all over again, and she was unable to believe it. You smiled at her confession, hearing actual emotion in her voice as she talked about Venom, and you ask her if she was just gonna stand with you and watch him, or is she gonna go talk to him, symbiote to symbiote. Slowly you start feeling her form overcome you, and you turn into a lilac form, similar to the one of the black symbiote in front of you, but nobody would be able to miss her feminine curves.
As the two of you approached the scene, one of the men Venom had already tossed to the ground saw you and screamed, causing Venom to turn himself and his white eyes grew wider when he recognized who he was seeing. “Acid? Is that you?“ Without taking his eyes off her, Venom tossed the man he was holding, and he hit the wall of the restaurant building with a thud. He then closed the gap between himself and Acid slowly, as if he was still trying to figure out if it was really her. But when he made sure his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him, because she didn’t disappear when he took her hand in his, they fell into each other’s arms, and you couldn’t help but smile under her form, as you had never seen her show any emotion other than anger and annoyance before. But your smile soon faded and was replaced with a panicked expression when you realized they were about to kiss.
You knew it didn’t mean that you were kissing the host of the Venom symbiote, but it didn’t make a very big difference really, as the two of you were one being, with two different minds, voices and skins. But you let them kiss, hoping to just be done with it and go back to your old life. However, neither Venom nor Acid had that in mind. Now that they have found each other, they didn’t want to let each other go that easyly, so you were stuck along for the ride. After spending some time ’alone’ Acid and Venom decided they wanted to introduce each other to their hosts and you two also. So your own human form was dominant again, Acid only now having her head appear, developing from your back. Venom did the same, and you could finally see his host. You immediately recognized Eddie Brock, you loved his show and even had an alarm set to make sure you don’t miss it every single time it aired, so it was quite the shock to be sitting in front of him, on the roof of your house, with symbiotes protruding from your backs. And not to mention you practically kissed him while the symbiotes were dominating your form. The moment he spoke to introduce himself, you were smitten by his voice, and you realized you wouldn’t mind spending more time with him, for the sake of Venom and Acid.
“Looks like you’re stuck hanging out with me a whole lot from now on. At least I get to spend my time with a beautiful girl.“ You blushed at his words, and spoke sooner than you might have wanted, telling him you didn’t mind spending time with him. He smiled at your response, while your blush only deepened. At first, Venom talked about getting Anne back, and you found out she was his ex, who was actually about to get married to a doctor she started dating a very short period of time after breaking up with Eddie. And every time you would hear her name, it was as if you got stabbed through the heart. Over time you started developping feelings for Eddie and all this Anne talk was close to driving you insane. Eddie noticed you roll your eyes one time as Venom and Acid were talking about Anne being alone at her lunch break and that it would be a perfect moment to just have Eddie walk over, ’accidentally’, and spend some time with her. He asked you if you were okay, and you could only nod your head, but he could tell you were lying. Over time, Acid noticed your change, and asked you if you liked Eddie, to which you answered by admitting it to her, thinking she wouldn’t tell Venom, only to turn after finishing and realize Eddie was standing beind you.
Without another word, he rushed over to you and cupped your face, connecting his lips to yours. That’s when you relized he felt the same about you, and you kissed him back, your lips moving in sync. After parting to catch your breath, Eddie told you Anne didn’t want to listen to him explain what happened, she just left him, and moved on rather fast, but you had shown him so many times over the months you spent constantly around each other that you were not just there because Acid wanted to be with Venom, but also because you wanted to be with him. So many little things you thought didn’t really matter, they did to Eddie and it made him realize you were the one for him. Venom was a little sceptical, since he was all on board the ’getting Anne back’ train, but Acid managed to convince him that you and Eddie were the better pair, and that way they would always be together too. So it was settled, you got you man, Eddie got his woman, and your symbiotes got each other, and it worked. All four of you were much happier with this arrangement, your feelings growing stronger by the day. You were a family, somewhat weird, or better yet, totally weird, but a family nontheless, and you were happy.
---***--- This was sitting in my drafts for a while, and I just got around to writing it, and I hope you like it. I wanted to use an actual symbiote, like Scream or Agony, but they are both ‘born’ from Venom, so it couldn’t really work. Instead I created Acid, and I really like how it all turned out, I hope you do to :)

I'm just imagining in the trapped in the elevator story after SO has the baby and V's just like 'it's so small....... a tiny human...' just completely enamored w/ this lil squishy bean. Just. Noodle Dad and smol babby is Good Shit.
Had a bunch of Prompts like this one:
Hey there! Just wanted to say that I absolutely fell in love with your Expecting Venom x Reader story!! 🖤❤️ Do you think there will be a sequel/follow up where Eddie and the reader have a cute discussion about names or Eddie/Venom freaking out over a Braxton Hicks contraction? (And maybe the reader goes, “OMG, it’s fine! I’m fine! Plz calm down!” after Venom fully transforms, scoops her up, and is about to web-swing her to the hospital, or something! XD )
OMG, I just LOVED your Pregnant Reader x Eddie Brock/Venom story!!!! Do you think you could do another one where the Reader suddenly goes into labor?
Can we get more pregnant reader with Eddie and the symbiot? Maybe she goes into labor and they are freaking out and after 5 hrs twins are born, one completely human and the other a symboit that already bonded with the human baby and they are a perfect match since they basically grown together.
Hi don’t know if I’m asking at the right site sorry if I’m not. I was wondering if you could do a venom promt, like a sequel to the Elevator one where the pregnant reader finally gives birth and Venom is immediately mesmerized by the baby after the delivery, maybe have him freak out like a lot of dads do during the labour since he is still learning things about humans? If you already have a sequel to it then just ignore me. Gamer-Kat.
WOW! So much interest for this one! Alright, here we go. I hope this doesn’t disappoint. (I tried to work in the symbiote/baby idea. It’s not quite what was requested, but I hope it’s good enough)
Sequel to ‘Elevator Troubles while Expecting’
EDIT - I have edited the prompt ‘Daddy’s Girl’ to fit in with this. Think of it as a future part of this ‘series’ of prompts.
“Eddie?”
“Yeah, babe?”
You grimaced a little as you braced a hand against the living room wall, your other hand clutching at your belly. Pain radiated from your stomach, to your lower back and down your legs, turning standing into an exertion that you really didn’t need. You breathed through it, when spoke once the wave had passed. “I think you should get me to the hospital now.”
His head jerked up and spun towards you so fast you thought he’d broken his neck. “W-What?”
“I’ve been having contractions… for the past hour.”
“The past— Babe! You said you were sleeping!”
“Yes, well, after the Braxton-Hicks incident I wanted to be sure this time.” Said incident had involved a panicking Venom, who had scooped you up and bashed his way out the living-room window - and part of the wall - in the rush to get you to the nearest hospital before you’d been able to explain to him what was going on.
Luckily the Building Manager was a good one. Most of the brickwork had been replaced, and while the ‘window’ part was still boarded up, the Manager had assured you that the order had been put in and it was just a matter of waiting for the custom window to be delivered.
Currently, however, you had bigger problems.
Like Eddie running around the apartment trying to find the bag you’d prepared for your trip to the hospital. “Eddie.”
His voice wavered. You saw little symbiote tendrils start to weave in the air around him, a sure sign that Venom was getting just as flustered. “Yeah?”
Jesus. Did all men get this freaked out? “Hallway closet, top shelf, green duffel bag.”
“Right!”
Shaking your head, you slowly waddled towards the apartment door, thankful for the slip-on sneakers you’d bought two months ago. Bending over just wasn’t possible anymore.
Eddie returned to your side with the needed bag, eyes comically wide. “Cab or web-slinging?”
You opened your mouth, then shut it with a grimace as another wave hit you. You’d had bad menstrual cramps before - had been warned by your OBG/YN that the contractions might feel that way - but this was ridiculous.
“Web-slinging. Definitely web-slinging. Off the rooftop!” you added quickly as Eddie vanished under the darkness of the symbiote, Venom reaching for you once the transformation was complete. “We managed to bullshit our way through one excuse for the wall. I don’t think we can do it again.”
“WE PANICKED A LITTLE,” Venom rumbled to you, voice low with embarrassment, as he gently scooped you into his arms, cuddling you close. He lashed out some tendrils from his back to pick up the duffel bag, anchoring it to him as he used another bit to open the front door.
It wasn’t often that you saw Venom employ stealth. Usually he just went where he wanted to go, and damn anything in his way. Now, he was silent, footfalls making no sound as he darted across the hallway and into the stairwell, bounding up them one flight at a time.
“TALK TO US MORSEL. WE CAN SENSE YOUR PAIN. WHAT DO WE DO?”
That had been the symbiote’s largest issue with your pregnancy. Not the physical changes, or the oddity of a live birth, but the fact that you’d end up in pain. Both Eddie and Venom had zero tolerance for seeing you in pain. They both fretted and hovered, and one of them had a horrible habit of just wanting to kill the source of your torment.
You worried about having them in the room during the actual childbirth.
For now though. “My lower back, can you put pressure on it a little?” Felt a tendril slip under your shirt, spreading across your back and kneading into your flesh, and instantly the seizing sensation eased. “Mm. Thanks. That helps a lot.”
“WE’LL BE AT THE HOSPITAL SOON.” He wasn’t as stealthy as he bashed the rooftop access door open with his shoulder, but you were in the middle of another contraction and couldn’t care. “OH! WE CAN SENSE THAT! HOW FAR APART ARE THEY?”
You glanced at your watch. “T-They’re speeding up. This one is only three minutes after the last one.” The symbiote had read every bit of literature that you and Eddie had brought home, twice, even pestering Eddie into going online so it could learn more. It probably knew more about childbirth than you did at this point.
Venom growled, shifting you in his grip, a thick tendril lashing around your legs, to support you as he freed his right arm and sent a webline out to another building. “HOLD TIGHT. WE CAN GET TO THE HOSPITAL BEFORE YOUR NEXT CONTRACTION.”
Blinking, you obediently curled your arms around his neck, clinging to him as he leapt off the roof. The pull of gravity felt worse than ever before, tugging at something inside you, but you didn’t comment, not when everything blurred past you at a speed you’d never experienced before.
Venom swung around a corner and rebounded off a building before sending out another line, the hand curled around your shoulders tightening a little when you hid your face against his shoulder. It was a rapid paced roller-coaster of ups and downs, pulls and pushes, the wind ruffling your hair as he crossed a quarter of the City in record time.
It was Eddie that landed in a quiet part of the Hospital’s parking lot, his left arm returning to properly cradle you. “Jesus, I didn’t know he could move that fast.”
“Neither did I,” you admitted, feeling the bit of symbiote applying pressure against your back ripple a little.
No one gave you any weird looks as Eddie carried you into the ER, though the triage Nurse was a little slow on the uptake, at least until Venom took over Eddie’s voice and snarled out that you were in labor and to call the doctor now. Then she moved.
Half an hour later - after your water broke and an ER doctor had confirmed that you were ‘officially’ in active labor (no shit Sherlock) - you were in the maternity ward, lying in an uncomfortable bed, in an itchy gown, hooked up to a fetal heart rate monitor. Your legs were in stirrups while a Nurse checked to see how dilated you were. You had a grip on Eddie’s hand, mostly because there was a sheen of white over his blue eyes, a sign that Venom was close to the surface, and you couldn’t tell if the symbiote was just curious or protective.
The next four hours went by normally, so your Nurses told you. You turned down an epidural, but accepted some painkillers. Eddie stayed by your side the entire time, helping you walk when the Nurses suggested that you walk, rubbing your back, fetching you water and ice chips when needed and talking you through the contractions. The symbiote was always just under the surface, evident by the slightly cloudy sheen that turned his eyes grey - something that only you noticed, thank God.
It wasn’t until you were almost fully dilated that the real pain started. Intense cramping, pulling, tightening, waves that left you shaking with every ebb and crest. Eddie became glued to your side, literally, as the symbiote sent out half-camouflaged tendrils, massaging your back and hips, giving you little nudges when you forgot to breathe. At the same time, Eddie encouraged you through each wave, gently using a cold cloth to wipe the sweat from your face, holding you hand when you needed and not complaining when you tried to crush his fingers.
Honestly, there were moments where you wanted to kill him for getting you pregnant.
To say you were relieved when the overwhelming urge to push finally came and a Nurse announced that you were fully dilated and ready to go. You had no idea of how long you’d been at the hospital at that point, everything had just blurred together in the rising and falling of contractions.
Nurses, a doctor for you and a pediatrician for the baby filled the room, the sudden hustle and bustle making your nerves spike a little. But by then the urge to push was massive, and you just wanted the baby out.
They allowed - funny ‘allowed’. Obviously had no clue - Eddie to get behind you on the bed so you were between his legs, back to his chest, helping you to settle into a more comfortable position. It gave the symbiote the opportunity to cover your back and sides, massaging, kneading, where ever it could touch, safely hidden from view by your gown.
You gripped Eddie’s hands and bore down during contractions, gritting your teeth at the stinging, burning, sensation. Jesus Christ, how was the world overpopulated if this is what women had to go though?
Went limp when the doctor told you to stop pushing, leaning your head back against Eddie’s right shoulder, so tired and drained. He nuzzled at you, scratchy stubble itching your cheek, the symbiote kneading your back, pressing against you.
“You’re almost there,” Eddie murmured, kissing your cheek, hands gripping yours tight.
The doctor told you to push when you could, and you shook your head a little. “I-I can’t–”
“Yeah, you can. C’mon. One more.” There was some of Venom’s voice melded with Eddie’s and you shivered as the symbiote rippled against your spine.
With a last herculean effort, your baby daughter was born. Once the doctors cleared her airway, clamped the cord, and deposited her on your chest, she started to fuss and cry. Felt the symbiote go very, very, still against you as you pulled her into a gentle hug, nestling her close to you, hearing Eddie’s breathing hitch a little as he rose a hand to rest it over her back.
“Told you you could do it,” he sniffled, pressing a kiss to your cheek again, though you knew his gaze was locked on his daughter.
Your little Jamie.
The pediatrician took her from you, briefly, cleaned her up a little and checked her over before happily announcing that you had a perfectly healthy, seven-point-two pound little girl.
It wasn’t until you were in your own room, cleaned up, with your daughter in your arms, that Venom felt safe enough to make an appearance. You kept an eye on the door as he slowly approached you, leaning down to peer at the little life in your arms.
“IS… IS IT SAFE TO TOUCH HER?” You’d never heard Venom actually sound nervous before.
“Just watch the talons,” you murmured, smiling when the blackness on his hands rippled, those wicked claws retracting.
Slowly, as if he was almost afraid of her, Venom lifted his little girl into the crook of his right arm, carefully supporting her head the way he’d obviously seen in all the books you’d brought home. Jamie was minuscule in his arms, her little face scrunched up as she slept, one hand nestled to her mouth.
You watched as he ducked his head, gently nuzzling at her, drinking in her scent, just like he did to you. “SHE SMELLS LIKE US MIXED WITH YOU. LIKE…” His voice trailed off, and you saw his pale eyes widen a little.
New motherly instincts went off. “Venom? What is it?”
He licked at her face with the tip of his tongue, blinking when she fussed a little in her sleep. “SHE SMELLS LIKE… LIKE A SYMBIOTE.”
Okay. That wasn’t as bad as your mind was thinking. “You and Eddie are her father. Of course she’d smell like you.”
“NO, MORSEL. SHE HAS YOUR SCENT, YES. BUT SHE DOESN’T SMELL LIKE A HUMAN.”
Okay. That was a little worse. “Which means what?”
One massive shoulder rose and fell in a shrug. “NOT SURE. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. NEVER KNEW WE COULD HAVE AN OFFSPRING THIS WAY.” He turned his attention back down to the baby in his arms, rumbling softly, purring to her in his own way. She fussed a little more, then opened her eyes - the same steel blue as Eddie’s eyes - and though you knew that she probably couldn’t focus her vision yet, you could swear she was looking back at him.
Venom stared back at her for a moment before his head jerked up, eyes narrowing at the doorway. Moments later, it was Eddie standing in his place, the man looking a little frazzled to suddenly be holding his daughter, though that awkwardness quickly turned into a sort of protective-Dad vibe when a Nurse walked in.
Thank God for keen symbiote senses.
After the Nurse had checked up on you and the baby, you were left alone again, Jamie back in your arms, Eddie perched on the side of the bed so he could look down at her.
“Venom thinks she might genetically, be part symbiote,” Eddie murmured to you softly, relaying the symbiote’s thoughts, since the alien had decided that staying hidden while in the hospital was safest. “That might be why she smells different to him. Which makes sense, I guess. I’m not fully human anymore.”
“I don’t care,” you frowned, keeping Jamie settled close while she nursed at your breast. Deciding that Eddie looked too bummed for such an amazing day, you rose your free hand to Eddie’s face, pulling him down for a kiss. “She’s ours and she’s perfect. So, long she doesn’t go biting the heads off of people before she’s eighteen, I can pretty much adapt to anything.”
Eddie paled a little. “Jesus, I didn’t think of that.”
You grinned as you pecked Eddie on the lips again. “And,if she ends up climbing walls and gets stuck up there, I expect one or both of you to get her down. And when the time comes I’ll even let you handle any potential boyfriends.”
“Boyfriends?!” Venom’s voice growled out of Eddie’s throat before the man whacked himself in the chest, coughing when the symbiote relinquished control.
“Calm down dude,” Eddie muttered. “That won’t be for, like, thirteen years.”
“If you’re lucky.”
“Please don’t rile him up,” he pouted, smirking when you giggled. Smiling, Eddie leaned in to kiss you again, then dropped a softer peck onto Jamie’s head. “Love you.”
“I love you, too. Both of you.”

Will You Give Me Shelter Part One
Next Part | Masterlist
Notes: Heeeey! Ya girl is dabbling in some polyamory writing? So we’ll see how this goes? Slowburn? Slowburn.
Takes place before the events of the movie, and will likely run through the movie.
Also not Beta read.
Pairing: Eddie Brock x Reader x Annie Weying
Summary: Everyone else on my team had long since left, but I was there, trying to work my way through an assignment that needed to be done by Friday. It was, to date, one of the worst Wednesday’s I’d ever had at my job.
“Can you help me with something?”
I desperately wanted to say no. I was already in the office an hour and a half later than I had wanted to be. Everyone else on my team had long since left, but I was there, trying to work my way through an assignment that needed to be done by Friday. It was, to date, one of the worst Wednesday’s I’d ever had at my job.
I glanced up to turn down whoever it was, but the words died in my mouth at the sight of them.
Why the hell did Eddie Brock need my help? Then again, his usual editor had probably long since gone home.
“When do you need it by?” I asked, glancing at the time on my monitor before looking up at him.
“By tomorrow morning.” I cringed, and he hurriedly added, “I will pay for your dinner.” I nodded, holding my hand out for the thumb drive he was holding.
“Alright,” I said, resigning myself to a few more hours alone at the office. What I didn’t expect was for Eddie to pull a chair up beside mine, muttering that this was awesome and that he really owed me one.
“You drive,” he said, passing me the thumb drive. I took it, blinking a couple of times before I turned, saving the edits that I had made to my other assignment and closing out of the window. I plugged the thumb drive in, leg bouncing impatiently as it loaded.
“What do you want?” He asked. I hummed curiously, confused, before his phone was pushed into my field of vision, the food order app that the office used in my face. Dinner. Right.
I reached down, navigating to my favorite diner and ordering what I wanted before nudging the phone back in his direction. I pressed play on the footage, unplugging my headphones and turning the volume up a bit.
“I can just tell you where to cut,” Brock spoke up, and I could hear a twinge of irritation in his voice. I waved him off, focusing on the overview that he was giving on the topic before he went on to the interview. There was nearly an hour of footage.
“What do you need this cut down to?”
“Seven. Like a tight seven.” I nodded, tightening my ponytail to keep any of my hair from getting in my face before straightening my glasses.
“Alright.”
By the time our food arrived, we were both too immersed in what we were doing to eat. It got as far as Eddie opening the bag before he set it back down on the corner of my desk, pointing out that he did, in fact, need the frames I had deleted.
I had never had a reason to work with Eddie before. He was one of the most talented journalists at the Daily Globe, had a team that he regularly worked with. He was smart and had a good sense for storytelling. But there was a reason he wasn’t doing the editing for himself.
Every argument he made for a shot or a reiteration, I had an equally valid counter-argument for.
By midnight, we had it down eight and a half minutes.
“I feel like we should microwave this.” I looked over at Eddie, unable to hide an amused smile at the sight of him digging into the bag of food, his mouth already half-stuffed with fries.
“I can eat it cold, just pass it here,” I said, waving the food over. Eddie did as he was asked, laying my food out in reach of me.
“Hit save, take a break,” he urged. I hesitated, looking at the screen. He added:
“The footage isn’t gonna disappear if you eat your burger, I promise.” I hit save, leaning back in my seat and unwrapping my food. We ate in relative quiet before Eddie asked,
“What’s got you here so late? Besides me, I mean.”
“They threw an inspirational story for Friday’s edition. I’ve got four hours of footage to make coherent. Half of it feels like they just forgot to call cut or shut the camera off when they weren’t using it.” Eddie snorted.
“Can I guess who it was?”
“You can, but I’m willing to bet you won’t be right.” His eyes narrowed playfully, and I smiled. We were both distracted by his phone buzzing. I couldn’t help but look at it where it was sitting on the desk, the name ‘Annie’ popping up with a text message. I looked away quickly, not wanting to intrude. Brock seemed to not notice, just picked his phone up and answered the text.
“Was it Benning?” He asked as he typed. I laughed, surprised.
“How did you know that?” Eddie shrugged.
“He always insists his crew shoots everything and I mean everything. Well, I don’t need to tell you.”
“No, you don’t. I’ve literally got footage of this family making an entire meal and he wants me to find a way to use all of it.”
Eddie shook his head. We went quiet as we ate. I had never been skilled at small talk, and Eddie clearly had things on his mind.
“You think we could finish this in the next hour?” He asked, glancing over at me. Part of me wanted to pry, to ask if he had someone waiting for him at home, but we didn’t know one another that way. Instead, I nodded, cleaning my fingers off. “If you don’t fight me about shots you don’t need, then yeah, we can be done in an hour.” A smile crossed Eddie’s lips, and we both huddled together around my computer. We bickered on and off for the next our, calling multiple races before finally coming to a resolution and a tight seven minutes by 1:28 AM.
“You need a ride?”
My mouth went dry at the sight of his motorcycle. I shook my head, waving off the proffered helmet. “I think I’m just gonna call an uber.”
“You sure?” “Positive.” Eddie smiled, throwing his leg over the machine and settling in. “Thanks for the help,” He said, putting his helmet on. I nodded, waving a light goodbye and watching his motorcycle until it was out of sight. I didn’t see Eddie for a couple of weeks, writing off our interaction off as my being his absolute best-last-hope. I was surprised, then, when I heard a, “Do you have a minute?” And looked up to see Eddie in front of my desk with a bag of takeout from the diner we’d ordered from before. “I’ve got two minutes if you’ve got onion rings in there.”
“I ordered extra,” He put the bag down, thumb drive beside it before he dragged a chair up next to mine.

I’ll Help You
PART 2

And once you witness a man die right in front of you because of it, you couldn’t continue on. Shamefully enough, you’re too scared to leave, you know how Carlton is and it terrified you to no end so when Dr. Skirth comes up with the idea to involve and ex investigative journalist, your desperation get the better of you and you agree to tag him along. Warnings: Swearing . . . that’s about it for now
Word Count: 3,259
Part 1
After receiving the call from Eddie you immediately called Dora, letting her know of his decision. He’d told you to meet him at his place and you would go from there.
You hopped out of bed and threw on a pair of leggings, black, a long sleeved t-shirt, again, black, and your shoes, wow, even more black. If you were being honest with yourself, adrenaline was starting to coarse through you and you liked it. This scandalous, technical, breaking and entering past hours with intentions to make Carlton Drake crash and burn was thrilling.
You pulled your phone out of your jacket pocket and sent Dora the address to Eddie’s apartment before heading there yourself. You’d only lived a few blocks down but BOY the difference in neighborhood those blocks made. Your apartment was decent, cozy cottage-like feeling to it and the outside wasn’t too shabby either. It was in a pretty good neighborhood with relatively happy people. You knew most of your neighbors and weren’t afraid to speak to them when you saw them in the halls.
You walked the distance from your place to Eddie’s letting the cold of the wind settle into your bones by the time you got there. Your teeth clattered against each other and the loose strands of your hair flailed and slapped against your face. You turned your back towards the wind and hugged yourself for additional warmth. It’d been significantly warmer earlier in the day when you’d asked Eddie for help but now, hours later, the temperature must have dropped almost twenty degrees.
You checked your surroundings before pulling out your phone and dialing Dora’s number again.
“Hey, are you almost here?” you asked once she’d picked up.
“I’m still sneaking out of the house, I’ll try to be there as soon as possible,” she responded.
You told her it was fine and hung up then kept your hands tucked in your pockets, trying to avoid exposing them to the freezing wind. You lightly bounced in your spot, moving just enough to hopefully produce more warmth and fight off the cold making its way to the core of your being. Your arms stiffened and your body tightened once the tips of your fingers began to go numb.
Would it be awkward to wait for Dr. Skirth in Eddie’s apartment? Would he even invite you in if you asked? You didn’t think he was a bad guy but you would gladly freeze to death before facing the awkward tension of strangers conversing for the first time.
So you stayed put in your spot right outside his doorway. Hoping, more like praying, that Dr. Skirth would show up any second and offer you the warmth of her car.
But when you could barley move your fingers due to their stiffness, you tapped out. Your heels dug into your shoes as you rushed over to the door and looked for Eddie’s apartment number before pressing it with the backside of your wrist.
“Hello?” You heard a gruffy voice speak after the buzz sounded.
“Mr. Brock?” You asked but didn’t wait for confirmation, “It’s (Y/N), Dr. Skirth’s running a little late and I didn’t bring a car so I was wondering if I could.. um... come up for a second?”
You stood there, in the cold, waiting for him to make up his mind and after a few seconds, the front door buzzed open and you grabbed the handle through your jacket and slung the door open. The first thing this shabby looking place offered you was mediocre warmth, and you were gladly taking it in. The tips of your nose, ears and fingers ached with pain as they regained feeling and you ignored it as much as you could as you ascended the elevator up to Eddie’s apartment.
The ding of the elevator and the sound of the doors sliding to reveal a dimly lit hallway made your heart catch in your throat. Why? You weren’t sure but taking those first few steps out and reading the numbers on the doors made your stomach drop the closer you became.
You were almost at the end of the hallway when a door practically flew off its hinges and a girl, half dressed, like, literally she was still putting some of her clothes on, walked out. A man with what you could only describe as a beer belly and shaggy, somewhat majestic hair slapped her ass as she exited.
You stepped to the side as she practically crawled past you and stuck as close to the opposing wall as you could. You kept your gaze glued on the floor, already knowing that Eddie’s apartment was across this guy’s own and slithered towards his door.
Please don’t talk to me, please don’t talk to me, please don’t talk to me.
“You’re new,” the shaggy-haired man hiccupped.
Fuck.
You nodded your head softly and peered up, “Just visiting,”
The drunk man scoffed a bit, “I didn’t know he had any friends, let alone a piece of ass like you,”
Your eyes widened and your knuckles almost punched against the door with Eddie’s apartment number on it, letting him know you had arrived.
“Y’know,” he started, his breath vomit-inducing even with the few feet between you and his voice obnoxiously loud enough to make dogs down the street howl, “if he doesn’t get the job done you can head on over here and I’ll finish you for him,”
You gulped and spun around, no longer wanting your exposed side to be facing this asshole. Now, if it hadn’t been for the fact that you thought, in his ridiculously drunken state, that he might actually harm you, you wouldn’t chewed this guy out left and right. You probably would’ve thrown in a few fuck off’s and shrimp dick every now and then but this dude was getting closer to you and you were already as plastered to Eddie’s door as you could get.
You opened your mouth to respond when the solid frame of the door gave way and you tumbled backwards. Luckily, you made contact with another solid frame before you could fall on your ass. His chest was firm against your back and his hand holding your waist to keep you in place was supportive. But overall, he was warm and you couldn’t help but slink towards its source.
You almost fluttered your eyes closed at the comfort the man behind you provided but the tension between the two neighbors kept you alert. Eddie’s hand slithered away from your waist and gripped onto your elbow, his breath blew a few strands of hair into your face but how warm it was against your ear and cheek caused you to accept it instead of fight it.
“You okay?” He whispered to you and you could swear you felt his lips graze your ear.
You nodded slowly, pressing against him a little more just to create some distance between you and the drunken asshole. “Fine,” you responded.
Eddie slowly took a step back and you almost whimpered when the warmth of his chest was no longer available for you, “Get inside,” he huffed and once you entered his apartment, he shut the door behind the two of you.
“What a douche,” he whispered under his breath before eyeing you up and down, “Sorry about him, he doesn’t usually cause me too many problems but he’s never been a problem for guests.” He brought his hand up to scratch the back of his neck and with a meager smile muttered, “Probably because you’re the first,”
You put on a weak smile and nodded, “It’s okay, that’s probably the last time I’m gonna see that asshole,” (It’s not), “so hopefully no more situations like that,” (There will be).
Eddie lightly chuckled and motioned you towards a seat at the island, “Sit, please.” He pulled out a chair for you to sit on and stood on the opposite side of the island.
You trudged towards the seat and took your place before peering up at him. He seemed skittish, his hands rubbing together and his gaze everywhere except you.
Aannnddd here’s the awkward silence that you were previously dreading.
“So, it’s cold,” Eddie chirped up, seeing your nose and how red it still was.
“As hell,” you responded then cocked your head to the side a bit, “which doesn’t make very much sense but you get what I mean,”
He chuckled weakly but nodded all the same.
“So,” you spoke up after a few more seconds of tension, “what made you give us a call?”
His skittish behavior stopped and he stared down at the countertop, almost lost in a thought, “I had to check something first,”
“And what did you have to check?” You asked, noticing his hesitation to continue but prying anyway.
“I had to check with an old friend of mine.” he scoffed, “She was just reminding me that I had nothing left to lose,” the words dripped out of his mouth with a weight that you felt as though you had to hold.
“I’m sorry,” you looked down at his folded hands on the countertop.
“Nah, it’s fine. I had to make sure that chapter of my life was closed anyway, I wanted to see if I was ready for the next one,” his fingertips twitched and you looked up at him, noticing how he was watching you before awkwardly focusing back on his hands.
“I mean about what Carlton did to you,” you said, “About what we’re doing to you,” you trailed off.
“Let’s get one thing straight,” his voice grew exponentially in volume, “no one’s forcing me to do this. This is what I do. I investigate. I call people out and report on wrongdoings. It’s who I am. I’m doing this because . . .”
You sat there, eyebrows raised and waiting for him to continue.
“Because this is where the next chapter is taking me,” he finally finished.
“So are you?” You asked, catching his attention.
“Am I what?”
“Are you ready for the next chapter?” you unzipped the thin jacket and shimmied out of it once you felt warm enough.
Eddie stood up straight and just watched you. Watched as you slipped your arm out of each sleeve and tucked your hair behind your ear to get it out of the way, “Yeah,” he said, a soft smile on his face as he held his hand out to take the coat from you and hang it up, “I am,”
He hung your coat up by the door and turned back towards you, “Now let’s talk about this Mr. Brock thing,”
-
Dr. Skirth called your cell phone about twenty minutes later. She was pulled up in front of the apartment and asking where you were.
“We’re heading downstairs now.” You motioned towards Eddie, who had a stern talking with you about calling him Eddie and not Mr. Brock, and grabbed your coat off the rack.
“We?” You heard Dr. Skirth ask incredulously over the phone.
You broke out a false smile, as if she could see it, not wanting to repeat yourself because if you had it would sound like a big deal and it wasn’t. “Yes,” you drawled out.
“(Y/N),” Dr. Skirth teased, making kissy noises over the phone as if we weren’t about to potentially die over letting Eddie into the Life Foundation.
“We’ll see you down there,” you quickly said and hung up the phone.
“She’s outside?” Eddie asked.
You nodded and walked over to the door, opening it slowly and hoping that one dude wasn’t there still. After checking if the coast was clear, you headed towards the elevator and waited ‘til Eddie locked everything up. He entered with you and you left the warm confines of the building momentarily to replace it with the warmth in Dora’s car.
Once in, you greeted Dora and she greeted Eddie, explaining that the plan was a simple ‘in and out’. Get Eddie in, let him take photos and then get him the fuck out without being caught, for all our sakes.
You nodded in unison and put your seatbelt on before looking over at Dora and wondering why she hadn’t pulled away yet.
“We?” she mouthed.
You rolled your eyes jokingly, “Shut up,” you mouthed back.
-
A few minutes later you were at the security gate of the Life Foundation. You checked in with Dora, giving the security guard your badge passes and without hesitation, he motioned for the two of you to be on your way.
The reality of what you were doing, and its potential consequences, were starting to get the better of you. What if you guys were discovered giving Eddie a front row seat to the inhumane things Drake was doing? You were sure a slap on the wrist wasn’t the worst he would do to you and knowing him, he’d make it slow and painful.
Your stomach dropped and the nerves building up in your jittering frame were hard to ignore. Dora noticed immediately and parked in the nearest spot and turned towards you.
“You don’t have to come,” she whispered, and suddenly threw her door open and hopped out of the car, not waiting for a response from you.
But you knew she was trying to spare you, trying to keep your hands clean of the matter. And by leaving before you could respond, she was attempting to not allow you a choice.
It was only when you’d stayed glued to your seat in fear that Eddie opened your door slowly and bent over a bit, his arms sprawled on the frame of the door.
“What’s going on?” His gruffy but gentle voice spoke.
You almost didn’t hear it, too submerged in your fears of the ‘what ifs’ to get out of your head. “What if we get caught?” You asked under your breath. “I mean, he will kill Dora if he finds out and he won’t hesitate to get rid of me, he’s wanted me gone since I first got here,”
The knot in your throat tightened and physical pain emerged from your chest as tears began to well up in your eyes, “What if he kills me?” you accidentally voiced.
Eddie ducked his head a little so he was in your line of view and you couldn’t ignore him, “Hey.” His hand hesitated to reach for you and he decided against it, “Nothing’s gonna happen to you, I promise.” His body blocked your view from Dr. Skirth, “If you don’t want to come I’m not gonna force you,”
You stifled a sob that would’ve racked your body and shook your head, “I have to.” You attempted to look over Eddie’s frame at Dr. Skirth but failed, “She’s just as scared as I am, she’s only better at hiding it,”
Eddie looked over his shoulder at the doctor and nodded, “She obviously doesn’t want you involved in whatever is about to happen,”
“She doesn’t want to be involved in whatever is about to happen.” You took a shaky breath in and out then shifted in your seat to get out of the car, “But if we don’t do something then no one else will,”
Eddie took a step back and allowed you to leave then closed the door behind you. You walked past Dr. Skirth, hoping she didn’t notice the redness in your eyes, and scanned the lock with your pass.
Here we go.
Dr. Skirth explained the reason Carlton was doing the atrocities he was. She told him everything from the mission failure, which Eddie already knew about and lost his job over, to the symbiotes in the lab waiting human trial.
Your heart tightened and your breath hitched when steps echoed throughout the place, obviously getting closer. A security guard was making his rounds. Your eyes widened and you looked up at Dora, noting the fear lingering in her eyes too.
“Go!” She motioned to the two of you, scanning the lock with her key card and pushing you both in the room, “Let me handle this,”
You stumbled back but watched as the doors closed in front of you and took Dora out of your sight. You reached out to the door, almost opening and coming up with the excuse that Dora should’ve waited for you before she left if the security guard were to ask but a tight grip on your arm pulled you back.
“Have some faith in her,” Eddie reassured, “She knows what she’s doing,”
You pried your eyes away from the door and looked at him, “Do we really?”
Eddie’s hard gaze softened as did his grip on your arm. You sighed and walked past him, leading him directly to the ‘experiments’ that were happening and you observed as he took picture after picture.
You twisted around and walked back towards the door to keep a lookout, the hairs on your neck standing straight up as you tried to listen to everything happening around you.
And that’s when it happened, a loud crash emitted from the last place you left Eddie and your heart skipped a beat as it rose into your throat. You hurried over to see what was happening when you heard yelling and shouting.
They sounded desperate.
“I don’t know how!” You heard Eddie scream.
“Eddie don’t open the door!” You shouted back once he came into view.
“I have to!” he shouted, slamming what looked like a fire distinguisher against the glass panel.
“Eddie!” You ran over to him, trying to reach him before he succeeded, “She’s got the symbiote!”
But it was too late. Eddie smashed the glass to pieces and the woman, Maria, pounced on him like prey. You saw the symbiote enter him and your body went rigid. You weren’t sure how he was going to react to the symbiote, if he was going to be uncontrollable or have some sense. Either way, your biggest fear was him rejecting the symbiote and dying because of it.
You were so engulfed in Eddie’s well being that you hadn’t noticed the sirens and alarms go off. The room flashed red and the intercom stated there was a breach in your section.
Shit.
“Eddie!” You shouted, grabbing him by his hand and desperately trying to pull him up, “We have to go!”
Eddie took a second to try and piece together what was happening, the puzzled look on his face slowly turned to concern.
“Go!” Eddie shouted, pushing you away from him. “Get out of here! I promised nothing was going to happen to you and I meant it, now go!”
“B-But-”
“(Y/N), hide NOW!” he shouted at you, jolting you out of your daze and running towards the bathroom by Dr. Skirth’s office.
Just as you managed to shut the door behind you, the sound of another one opening followed by multiple shouting, arose. It didn’t take long before the gunfire started.
You locked the door and crash against the cold tile on the floor, bringing your knees up to your chest at the same time.
Eddie.
Christ, you couldn’t believe you’d left him out there, he should’ve hid with you. But he knew. He knew that if they didn’t find anyone in this section then they were just going to search until they did. And it was going to look really bad if they found you with him.
A tear trickled down your cheek as you sat in the dark bathroom, waiting until the coast was clear.
Please be okay.

PART 2 (Eddie Brock x reader)
(Part 1)
Seeing Eddie’s apartment took you by surprise. Sure, it was clearly a bachelor’s apartment, but it was still shockingly messy to say the least.
“Not a word,” you suddenly heard him say as he threw his keys on the kitchen island.
“But I didn't–”
Eddie turned around to give you a warning look with a finger held up. “I know you and I know you were about to say something. Don’t.”
“Okay, fine, but… Whatever.” It was easier to drop it than to start some stupid fight. He was an adult man and if he was comfortable living here you had no right to tell him it wasn’t right or that he deserved better. You walked over to the window and took a look at the table next to it. “This plant is practically dead, you know that, right?”
“Maybe it will get better if I keep watering it,” he replied with an awkward smile before returning his attention to the search for a bowl to put the popcorn in.
Letting out a sigh, you simply shrugged. “If you say so.” With your hands folded behind your back you walked over to the kitchen island and stopped across from him. “What do you want to watch?”
Your friend let out a low, humming sound as he thought about it. “How about Shaun of the Dead?” he asked eventually while he took out the bag of fresh popcorn from the microwave and poured it in the bowl.
“Sounds good. It’s been a while since I last saw it,” you replied with a smile.
Without thinking much about it you reached for the popcorn but Eddie quickly pushed your hand away. You gave him a questioning look to which he only responded with a playful smirk.
Rolling your eyes, you went to sit on the couch with your legs pulled up and waited for your friend to join you. Once he did, he quickly connected his laptop to the television and started the movie before occupying the other end of the couch.
But about fifteen minutes later loud music began to play somewhere near and you couldn’t hear a word from the movie. When you looked over at Eddie you noticed the annoyed look on his face as he closed his eyes. “It’s the asshole who lives across the hallway,” he eventually told you.
“We should ask him to turn it down a bit,” you suggested but he only shook his head. “Why not?”
“I tried before, several times, but he couldn’t care less.”
He looked so tired, as if he'd already given up this fight with that neighbor a while ago, and it made your heart ache. He wasn't even close to the cocky Eddie Brock with the big mouth you used to know. Letting out a sigh, you stood up. “Eddie, this is ridiculous. I’ll talk to him.”
“No, don’t," he quickly said, reaching out to take your hand so you wouldn't leave. "It would be pointless.”
“It’s worth a shot,” you replied with a shrug before pulling your hand away and walking toward the door.
Shortly after you were already standing in front of the door across the hallway, waiting for the guy who lived there to finally open it. “Who are you?” he barked once he did and stood face to face with you.
Forcing the sweetest smile you could manage in this situation on your face, you said, “Turn down the music, please, because I can’t hear the movie I’m watching.”
“It’s not my problem,” he replied with a shrug and was just about to close the door when you put your foot in the way. "What?"
“Have you ever been tazed?” you asked him, the sweet smile still present on your lips.
“What?”
“Have you ever been tazed? You know, with a taser.” With a confused look on his face he shook his head. “Listen, if you don’t turn down the music now, I’ll fucking taze you the next time I come here. And I won’t care about whether or not you’re listening to music at the moment.”
In the end he only laughed at you. “Whatever,” he said then shut the door in your face.
For a few seconds you just stood there, staring at the door while you thought about what had happened. According to Eddie it wasn't the first time it happened and by now he seemed to have accepted there was nothing to do about this.
Eventually you turned around and found him standing in the door with his arms folded over his chest. “I told you it’s pointless,” he pointed out once you stopped in front of him.
“You know what?" you asked as you walked inside with him right behind you. "Pack some clean clothes, we’re going over to my place for tonight.”
“Do we have to?” You raised your eyebrows once you looked at him and Eddie let out a sigh of defeat in response. “Alright, fine.”
Almost half an hour later the pair of you were already standing in the hallway of your apartment building. After you finally managed to open the door, Eddie walked inside and whistled as he threw his duffel bag on the floor.
“Wow, how can you afford this apartment?” he asked with a confused look.
You weren't surprised to hear this question because you would've asked the exact same thing if you were him. In the end, though, you only said, “I got divorced.”
“So you took half of everything he had?” he asked with a knowing smile.
“No, we signed a prenup before the wedding, but he was only willing to sign the divorce papers if I accepted the money he offered,” you explained dryly, avoiding his gaze by going to the kitchen to collect some snacks.
“Hush money?”
You let out an annoyed growl upon hearing this–presumably innocent–question. “No, and I don’t want to talk about it,” you told him sternly.
“Okay, I won’t force you,” Eddie replied before he got comfortable on the couch.
Neither of you spoke after that. You put some snacks and drinks on the coffee table then started the movie as you sat down next to Eddie. He didn't wait long before he lied on his back and rested his head on your thighs, using you as a pillow.
After a while you absentmindedly put your hand on his chest, gently stroking his skin over his shirt. When you looked down at him you noticed a heartbreakingly sad expression on his face as he focused his attention on the movie. He wasn't himself these days and you wished you knew exactly how to help him.
You didn't move right after the movie ended because he fell asleep a while ago and you didn't want to disturb him, but eventually you moved your hand so you could gently stroke the skin on his cheek, waiting for him to wake up and look at you.
“Morning, sunshine," you said with a small laugh once his eyes met yours. "The movie ended so I’ll go to sleep now. The spare room's at the end of the hallway. Make yourself at home, Eddie,” you added after he sat up.
“Thanks for letting me stay."
“Listen, you can stay whenever you want. Hell, I have a bedroom I don’t use, you could just as well move here.”
But Eddie only shook his head. “No, I’m good on my own. And I don’t think I’d be the best company in the world now.”
You stood up and looked down at him with your hands on your hips. “Don’t be an idiot, being around people is exactly what you need now," you told him. "Goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” he said, flashing a grateful smile at you.
You were dead tired, so once you reached your room you climbed into the bed and pulled the blanket up to your neck without taking a shower or changing your clothes first.
It wouldn’t have taken you long to fall asleep if the door of your room hadn’t opened unexpectedly. Only a second later you saw and felt as Eddie’s body fell on the bed next to you, his face turned to look at you as he lied on his stomach.
“Why are we like this?” he mumbled quietly.
“Like what?”
Eddie let out a short laugh. “Pathetic losers.”
“We’re not losers, Eddie,” you assured him with a half smile. “Pathetic? Maybe. But definitely not losers.”
“Oh, really? Maybe we should look at the facts. They took away your press credentials and kicked you out of the White House because you asked some uncomfortable questions. I was kicked out of my own show after I asked Drake about his experiments and all the people who died because of them. So yeah, let’s just be honest to ourselves: we’re losers.”
Closing your eyes, you let out a long sigh and reached out to take his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. “Eddie, this only means that we’re investigative journalists who got close enough to uncover something big that it made some powerful people pull certain strings to get us fired. If you don’t believe me, talk to my dad.”
“He would only agree with you because he wouldn’t want to make me feel any worse… if that’s even possible,” he added with a dry laugh.
“Come on, dad’s always been proud of you and he loves you like you were his son. If that wasn’t the case, he wouldn’t have let you stay with us that summer. Point is," you went on with a supportive smile on your lips, "he would never lie just to make you feel better.”
Suddenly he let go of your hand and launched forward, resting his weight on his left forearm as he put his right hand on the side of your face and kissed you hungrily. You had no idea what was going on or why he did this, and your mind was so clouded in the first few seconds that you automatically returned his kiss.
But after a while you realized it wasn't right so you put your hand on his and pulled your lips away. “What are you doing?” you asked quietly.
“I don’t know,” he admitted, resting his forehead against yours. “If you want me to stop I'll–”
“No, it’s not that, I’m just not sure you wouldn’t regret it later,” you said after interrupting him.
He let out laugh that sounded carefree and desperate at the same time. “It’s not like we haven’t done this before.”
“That was a long time ago.” Following a short break you pushed him away a bit so you could sit up. Once he did the same, you spoke up again. "Okay, listen, we should talk."
"Now?" he asked with a frown.
"Yes, now. I think it's time for you to get professional help."
Eddie opened his mouth to say something but in the end he remained silent. For long seconds he was only watching you but then he asked, "What are you talking about?"
"You should go and see a therapist," you explained slowly, hoping he wouldn't get too upset about this. "Maybe you would even get some meds to take."
"I'm not crazy," he stated.
"Honey, I know you're not, but you went through a lot lately and you need to learn how to properly cope with it. Trust me, I know from experience that it can help. And if you don't want to do this alone, I'm here by your side and I can even go with you."
Silence followed your words and for a second you thought he would jump up and leave without saying anything. But in the end he leaned forward to kiss you gently once again, this time placing both his hands on the back of your neck to keep you close.
"Eddie–"
"No, please, don't," he mumbled before slowly kissing you again. A few moments later his lips hovered just above yours as he added, "Let's talk about this tomorrow, okay?"
You nodded, even though you had a feeling it wasn't the right decision. Eddie was in a very fragile state of mind at the moment but you didn't know what would hurt him more in the end: if you said no and pushed him away, or if you let him do whatever he wanted to do that night. This time you chose the latter and could only hope it wouldn't end in a disastrous mess.
