DRAGON'S DOGMA: DARK ARISEN (∞)

so dragon’s dogma once again took over my brain and i replayed it. also decided it’d be fun to make a lil chart of how the game world works. made a few assumptions (like where great dragons come from if an arisen kills their dragon but doesn’t fight the seneschal and the fact that i’m assuming the cycle can’t be broken by using the godsbane on yourself at the end of the game regardless of what is presented to you). i’m also assuming the dragonforged fought, lost his weapon, and fled which is why there’s an option for fighting the dragon but not killing it.

love this game a lot. can’t wait for the sequel

just finished dragon's dogma dark arisen....wow....what is it about these games where their endings always manage to screw with my mind despite the main story not being anywhere near as polished as other games that i've played 😦😦😦😦❤️❤️❤️❤️

i have many a thoughts about this beautifully flawed game but i will have to do a junk thoughts post later. i....actually never watched the TRUE true ending in dragon's dogma 2 (aka the one where your pawn actually likes you lol) because ugh i'm not ready to say goodbye to these games yet 😭 the pawn system is unlike anything else i've ever played in a game and it's just so damn good!!

i've heard so many good things about brittleback isle in DA but i won't play it any time soon. i just got the ending where your pawn LIVES ON as you (holy shit like selene???) which means i'd have to do a new game plus and get up to a decent level since i've heard lv 80 is where you at least need to be for that dungeon to be uhhh bearable. i DEFINITELY want to do a ng+ run of ddda though, and i'm even thinking of getting the platinum trophy for it, but i think i'm going to rest from dragon's dogma games for a while. it's no joke but these games literally suck up my life like no other games have been able to do since i think horizon zero dawn--they're dangerous and too addicting for me to pick up and play lol. so i think i'm just gonna boot up dd2 this weekend, watch the true true ending, cry like a baby about it, and then move on to another game :(

so yeah, will have to settle my thoughts about DDDA in another post once i've had some time to think about them and how i think it compared to DD2, but definitely i'm so glad i picked it up and decided to play it. huge fan of this series now for sure. <3

Letting the quiet sounds of the Hostelry wash over her, Lihtbryda makes a noise of understanding, taking a mouthful of her drink and watching Gosetsu over the rim of her cup.

"It's only natural. You've spent your whole life taking care of Lord Hien, and now you're freed from that duty. It must feel like a mountain has been lifted from you," the mercenary replies, looking out over the railing of the balcony to the street below.

"Ha! Very true. A great mountain, more weight than I ever thought I could bear. But... a weight I miss. Is my Lord doing well? Is he keeping pleasant company? Is he getting enough rest?"

Staring into his cup, the Doman falls quiet for a few seconds before shaking his head. "Bah! Here I am with a woman such as yourself and I can only speak of my past. Tell me, is the talisman I gave you any help in controlling your heat?"

Touching the slip of paper around her neck - already smouldering at the edges, but suppressing her temperature to bearable levels - Lihtbryda is about to answer when a shimmer of Aether at Tenkonto catches her eye, and she grins, nudging her companion.

"It looks like you're going to be able to see what kind of company he's keeping."

Sure enough, materialised into Kugane is Lord Hien himself, arm in arm with a pale-haired Hyur.

"The Kami bring serendipity indeed," Gosetsu muses, "but I would not wish to intrude on his time with his lady friend. Besides, I believe you promised a trip to the springs?"

Getting to her feet and throwing a handful of coin on the table, Liht smirks. "Indeed. Come on, we'll find somewhere quiet."

Working on the fae court queens; spring to winter left to right~

still need to finish spring and winter, but i had the most solid ideas for them so i wanted to get summer and autumn out of the way first. i got lucky and their outfits came together really nicely!! the base is by terraterrific and her patreon server gave me some good tips on the autumn outfit that helped a lot~

they still need names but i've got a small amount of lore/personality for them already.

The Spring Queen is the only of the three adult queens who is still unmarried. She's a bit frustrated by this as shes a daydreamy romantic who's looking for love, but no one she's met yet has attracted her despite being a heavy flirt. She may seem ditzy and carefree on the surface, but rest assured - all of the fae queens have razor sharp minds.

The Summer Queen is a warrior at heart, and just as her court is known for, very knowledgeable on metals and the forge. She was meant to have more of an armored dress but i struggle with designing both armor and ballgown style dresses and decided on the lesser of two evils with her design for now.

The Autumn Queen is well known as a wise and gentle sorceress, while it is her wife (Queen Consort) who has the mind for the numbers and figures needed to manage the daily affairs of the Autumn court.

The Winter Queen is by far the youngest of the four, and newly crowned after her coming of age ritual. The previous king and queen perished recently in an accident, though darker intentions are currently being investigated. An accident after the supposed kidnapping of her younger stepsibling to a rumored fifth court seems unlikely. She is well liked by the other queens, as her young age gives fresh perspective in the meetings of the four courts.
