Tragic Sky

(very long salty rant ahead (+new Alterna backstory, though! ^^;))

So I've always thought Alterna’s backstory, despite being presented as a grand mystery that’s definitely worth fighting through 90% of the missions to uncover in its entirety…was kinda stupid. :/ I’m all for humanity destroying itself for ridiculous reasons, but trying to launch a rocket in an enclosed space?? Are you serious…? o_O How could the Alternans devote such immense amounts of time and energy to something like that without once thinking, “hey, uh…burning metric tons of high-energy fuel inside of our flammable safety dome might be a little unsafe, idk”.

And it shouldn’t even have been necessary! DX I mean, if they were able to build a dome like that in the first place, wouldn’t they have some sort of scaffolding or elevator system they could use to reach the top and just literally climb out if they wanted to leave that badly?? Had Alterna existed for so long that the technology used to create it was lost to time (seeing as it’s implied that Alterna was destroyed by its SECOND generation, I doubt it)...?? Or, did the writers suddenly realize that coming up with pseudo-scientific lore that explains why inkfishes resemble humanity is wholly unnecessary and adds nothing to the themes of Splatoon…but it was too late to rework the concept, so they just finished off the story with whatever-the-heck and called it a day. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I guess we’ll never know...

Anyway, my version of Alterna’s backstory starts with a similar premise: humans invented crystal thingies that can manifest people’s desires and whatnot…but this alone caused conflict that eventually doomed Alterna. People began to make their own interpretations of other people’s desires, judging and condemning them for how they manifested. They began treating the crystals’ reflections as compulsory measures of morality and worth, rather than simple expressions of the human heart that exist outside of a good/bad binary. Alterna’s leaders envisioned themselves creating a society of ‘pure truth’, free from the destructive power of deceit and subterfuge…all the while ignoring the destructive power of paranoia and exclusion that they immersed themselves in.

Exclusion escalated to oppression, which eventually spawned rebellion: plans were made to create a rocket that would allow a select group of ‘undesirables’ to escape Alterna for the surface world, destroying the integrity of their safe haven in the process. Despite not knowing what was waiting for them out there, they were willing to take the risk in the name of freedom. Eventually, this secret plan was revealed to the public, resulting in Alterna’s first and last civil war. As the Alternans began to fight and kill each other, the crystals were overwhelmed with the unprecedented ferocity of their clashing desires-- “a violent and terrible chain reaction ensued”, and the energy within them exploded outward. The sky dome, still filled with the beautiful blue of the peoples’ wishes for peace and happiness, came crumbling down, raining fire and shrapnel upon Alterna. The still-poisoned air of the outside world flowed freely into the cavern, ensuring the eventual death of anyone who might have survived.

…Then the crystals fell in the ocean, the sea creatures were imbued with human hopes and dreams, yadda yadda, all that’s basically the same as the canon too. And although I still think it’s unneeded (the mere concept of a bygone humanity in Splatoon carries plenty of weight without all this “lore”, imo), at least now the story isn’t stupid!

It speaks to the way humans actually treat each other, and blames their downfall on their long-established bad habits of cruelty and callousness, rather than morally-neutral traits like ambition and pursuit of the unknown (I would never have expected “curiosity killed the cat” as the lesson of the day from Splatoon, of all franchises. o_O This IS the same game that celebrates individual expression and forging your own path, right…?)

Anyway…I’m gonna be using elements of this rewritten backstory and the theme of “manifesting desires” to flesh out the final boss encounter and Agent 3’s subtle character arc. So please look forward to that~

I’m confused as to how Hazbin/helluva boss fans think that you could be sued for libel/slander??? Literally everytime I’ve seen you post potential leak info you always make it clear that whatever is being said is alleged, and even if it is from a solid source that you can’t reveal or post proof for, I’ve noticed you also make it clear that even that may not be 100% fact/you understand that not everyone will believe you, and this is just what someone told you.

I'll tell you, I am not looking forward to season 2 just because it doesn't matter how many times I emphasize that the Rosie/Lilith leak is very likely to have changed over time -- if it deviates even slightly, they'll never shut up about how I post fake information and deserve to be in liar's jail.

I have just finished Chapter 10 of Northanger Abbey. Some thoughts:

I kind of wish I had read this book first out of Jane Austen’s works, if only because I would have related to Catherine more

since I’m mostly familiar with Pride and Prejudice and Emma and Persuasion, and a little knowledgeable of Sense and Sensibility, (I have yet to even touch Mansfield yet, I am so sorry) I was immediately like what the heck do you mean Catherine’s got a brother

who is this man?? what is he doing here???

I’ve read too many P&P fics,,, the state of being brotherless is just so ingrained into the story conflicts and character dynamics in my head, whoops

Mr Thorpe was annoying from the first, and he has only gotten on my nerves even more (and do I smell a fortune hunter??)

at first I was leery of her and Catherine’s friendship because of how she’s older and more polished; I was sceptical of the sincerity of how quickly they seemed to get attached

also I get the vibe that she’s hiding something from Catherine (has she met Tilney before…?)

but if she’s really James’s love interest, then I see her as more harmless; more of a disappointment, less of a threat, I guess?

still absolutely relieved Catherine’s not overly attached to her now though

“y/n likes it,” Mingyu grunts, “Don’t you?”

You can tell he meant for it to come out as condescending but it missed the mark and now that your eyes meet, you can see he’s actually looking at you for some sort of reassurance with his dark eyes and teeth biting into his lip, and sweat-damped hair, and fuck. You moan around the length in your mouth and without meaning to clench around Cheol’s dick - at least you guess so by the growl you hear. 

“‘likes it alright,” he hisses through gritted teeth. Somewhere close another voice chuckles but when you try to look that way, Mingyu’s hand covers your line of sight. He gives you a look that clearly says to only pay attention to him, which honestly is much easier and at least when you focus, you’re not choking.

Unless Cheol slams into you like he did just now.

You sputter around Mingyu’s cock, the man desperately trying to soothe you because he won’t last if your throat keeps constricting around him like that. But his dear friend takes no mercy on either of you and keeps ramming into you like his life depends on it.

“You’re all so mean,” yet another voice says - and how did you get into this situation anyway? - but at least he rubs your back and murmurs for you to breathe. He guides you through it until you calm down again. You throw Jihoon a quick grateful look, Mingyu being too distracted trying to get his own breathing and body under control to mind.

“That’s why we’ll make y/n feel better,” Wonwoo quips, “We’ll be so nice and gentle.”

“I’m not-” Mingyu starts but is quickly reduced to a moaning mess again when you suck on him now that you got used to Cheol’s punishing thrusts. He’s right though - he’s not mean on purpose, he’s just desperate to get off.

“Fuck, slow down, baby, please,” he whines, grabbing a fistful of your hair, but when most of your movement is driven by the sheer force of Cheols thrusting, it can only do so much. “Fuck, shit, shit.”

Only a couple seconds difference is all it takes for Mingyu to hold you down on his cock instead as he shoots his load down your throat. You clench hard on Cheol as you try to swallow everything. There’s enough mess on the sheets as is.

The man behind you spits his own string of curses as his hips keep snapping into you. He reaches under your body to play with you, making your eyes roll back into your head. Mingyu hastily pulls out of your mouth to escape any risk of your mouth overstimulating him as you keep milking him dry.

With a few more thrusts, Cheol sheaths himself deep inside you and leans over you, sucking a mark to your neck as he rides out his high with your walls fluttering around him. 

“Cheol... Cheollie, need to cum too,” you babble, fucking yourself back on him. He grabs your hips to keep you steady. You whine and beg but he doesn’t let you go.

“Please, need you,” you sigh, melting into a puddle under their soft touches, Jihoon playing with your hair and Wonwoo caressing your back. 

“Say please again,” Jihoon coos at you, “For each of us.”

“Please, pretty please,” you whine, nuzzling against the muscles on his leg. Cheol’s familiar chuckle vibrates through the air and if Wonwoo didn’t line himself up with you at that very moment, you’d give him a nasty look. Wonwoo takes a pillow from the top of the bed and pushes it under your hips before he gently puts pressure on your lower back to make you lie down. 

“Relax for us,” he soothes, “We’ll take care of you.”

He pushes in easily with barely any resistance but he still goes slowly, careful not to push your limits and hurt you. You sigh softly, panting as you look up at Jihoon with hooded eyes.

“Your mouth’s bored?” he quirks a brow at you, chuckling when you nod.

“Needy,” Mingyu sing-songs and watches in fascination how you let Jihoon guide you down his cock and then just leave you there, filled to the brim and the skin of your lips stretched prettily around the intrusion. Seungcheol scoffs.

“You’re meant to fuck, not fall in love,” he rolls his eyes, and you watch as Jihoon narrows his eyes at him.

I recently decided to get certified to teach English as a second language bc I’ve wanted to live abroad basically forever

And I decided to apply to work in Korea’s public schools bc that program seems great

So I started basic Korean learning by myself for now and I already know more Korean in like a week and a half than I remember from three years of high school Spanish

And I know a big part of that is that my goal is to be fluent in Korean instead of just passing Spanish (like I thought being fluent would be cool but I didn’t actually try I just tried to pass my class) and now I’m like thinking about linguistics and meta cognitive learning *insert jerk off gesture* but it’s good

I found pinsleur’s korean one online for free so now I can have a conversation if someone says exactly “hello it’s nice to meet you” then asks if I speak English or Korean and then asks if I’m from America ,,,,,,, which is still more conversational Spanish lol

I’m thinking about learning Spanish next unless I need another language first for like career stuff or if I start dating someone with a different native language than the ones I speak. We’ll see how that shakes out I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Altho I realized I completely emphasize speaking and listening skills bc reading in German made me so frustrated that I haven’t started learning the Korean alphabet basically 😅😅😅😅
