idk how to start but I am SO confused about that last look of a flabbergasted Francesca when she meets Michaela? WHAT WAS THAT? i haven't read the books so excuse me for that 😭

some thoughts-

+ they are wasting away Benedict. they are wasting his potential and story and what all he could be. he felt so...out of place, confused and useless this season. half of his scenes were of him having sex that was not going ANYWHERE. i love Benny so much but i want shonda to treat this President of Pookie Nation with care and love. I want the story to respect Benedict because his character has so much potential and so much to offer. He hides behind his charming smiles and taunts but his eyes are always sad. As if he is looking for something-this one crucial piece of puzzle and he cannot seem to find it. shonda babes you better sharpen your quill.

+ all the instances that were supposed to be happy for Pen- the marriage, the engagement, the wedding night, ALL OF IT WAS RUINED BECAUSE of that stupid LW secret.

+Kate and Anthony still the best couple i do not make the rules. i don't think even Polin is topping them. tho Kate is certainly topping Anthony tonight.

+ the season was good don't get me wrong but it felt..a bit... rushed and its like the writers are focusing more on the future than savour the present. everything is happening because of the future seasons. idk if that makes sense

+i DID NOT like violet's treatment of kilmartin. i like violet most of the time but she didn't have to act so "unsure", distant and sloppy with kilmartin.

+Francesca gave some slippery vibes as if she is hiding something. or is it just me?

+I don't know why everyone is bashing Eloise so much. I pity her so much. She has kept the sword aside, she stopped fighting but she looks SO LONELY. she is not always the easiest person and she is whiny but i wish i could give her the tightest hug and talk day and night. maybe I see myself in her too much that i am defending her.

+i like they included hyacinth and Gregory this season, they are so precious.

+ i liked cressida's redemption arc but I think Lady Featherington might have won this one. She made peace with Pen in her own tight lipped fashion but i love that for her, i am not going to lie.

+ oh, cressida. i feel too bad for her. i do. but I do not sympathise with her. i actually do not know what to think of her at all.

+mr and Mrs mondrich yassssss slaying as always so cool so suave i love them

Abt the season writing : after discussing with a friend, we thought that the season did not have the same pattern as the others, especially part 2 which seemed a bit weird, as if not wrote by the same person

He stood on the beach, observing the breathtaking, cerulean blue ocean. The orange and violet hues of the setting sun gave the surrounding area a calming sense of warmth. The sand was soft beneath his feet.

The sea was like a vast, sparkling canvas of the clearest blues; calming, yet an unpredictable danger to the unwary. He knew it wouldn't be the smartest to walk into the alluring waters, but he did it anyway. He knew his limit.

As he slowly waded into the clear, shallow depths, his worries faded.

"Ahh... What a great idea this was," he said sarcastically.

Despite his inability to swim, he wasn't worried. Until a stray current suddenly ruined his stable footing. He slipped.

The next thing he knew, it was dark. Nothing but a blue abyss around him. His eyes stung from the salty water, so he shut them. The water was bitter and briny. It flooded his tastebuds. Everything was quickly fading into a disturbing quietness. His throat burned as the seawater started to choke him.

Though, he wouldn't just let this happen. He attempted to swim back up, doing his best to stay calm as he tried to kick his legs and not helplessly flail his arms.

He forced his eyes open despite the stinging of the water. Only for a second did the surface get closer, then it started to move further and further away from him.

Admittedly, he was scared and truly didn't know what to do at this point. But he kept trying to get back to the surface, but the ocean was unforgiving as it swallowed him whole. This was turning out to be a horrible day for him. Maybe his last if things went on like this.

He could see the bubbles of his own breath, the precious oxygen from his lungs quickly floating to the surface. The direction he wanted to go. Now he was starting to panic.

Just when he thought he had no chance, he suddenly felt his weight being dragged by something. Someone? He tried to open his eyes, but the force of pushing against the current was too much at the moment. Only a glimpse of sequin looking material caught his eyes.

And then he could breathe again. He gasped and coughed, quickly blinking away whatever water was stuck in his eyelashes. It took a moment for him to recompose himself. His lungs burned.

Then he heard an unfamiliar voice, "You alright...?"

It startled him. He whipped his head in the direction of the voice's source. In the process, he realized he's been taken to a small rock island a decent ways away from the shore. Then he saw them.

At first glance, they looked like a human. But a second later he noticed a tail. A mermaid's tail. They were a mermaid. As scaly and as shiny as it was, it looked smooth.

Only then did he respond, "Not exactly."

He saw their expression turn to one of worry. Other than that, he couldn't help but notice their beauty. Just like the sea that had almost taken his life.

A couple moments of silence passed.

"Are you... afraid of me?"

That question caught him off guard. But he answered honestly.

"I am," he said, "but thank you for saving me."

He took in another breath, now calm. He was indeed grateful for what they had done. Slowly, he turned his gaze to the distant shoreline. The current had taken him farther than he'd originally thought.

His attention was taken back by his savior when they shifted uncomfortably, their tail splashed lightly in the water.

A bead of water dripped from their hair, "Uh... Wanna back now?"

He nodded silently, still in mild shock.

Now here he was, safely back on land. The mysterious being of the sea was laying in the safety of the shallows. He stared into their eyes for what seemed like forever.

He got curious, "What's your name?"

"y/n."

Then it went quiet again. But it wasn't awkward this time. It was more of a comfortable silence.

They broke it, "Hey."

He looked directly into their eyes.

"Will I see you again?" they continued, almost sounding lonely.

"... Yeah," he didn't know what had compelled him to say that.

My thoughts about Scarlet and Violet

This post will have spoilers about ScVi, be warned!

Played Violet so I am gonna be biased.

Overall, Scarlet and Violet is a beautiful game. If Game Freak/whoever is responsible for the game had time to polish and optimize it, this would - no douth - be the best Pokemon game ever. But if we look past bugs and glitches, it's a fun and cool game! At its core, it has mature themes and I like it.

The story is engaging and love the characters. Everyone in this game has the potential to be on their own and not just there for the plot. They have personalities and are well-written.

For example, when we first meet Arven, thought he gonna be a bitch and not likable at all. But continuing further, he had his reasonings to be mean towards Miraidon/Koraidon (technically us too since we helped M&K.)

Nemona wanted a rival that she could battle but also she helped us gain the champion rank. The final battle with her felt like a test. Penny... well Penny is Penny. She was bullied in school like the other team Star members. She didn't want to lose them because it was her only family.

The teachers and the gym leaders also are cool characters. Love them, expect Iono. I mean, she's cool but not for me. Clavell??!! Love him. Like, the dude just wants to know how the younger generations are doing and learn from them. And Mr. Saguaro!? Dude's a fucking home Ec teacher. What a chad. And the Art teacher who's part of the elite four? Mr. Hassel? He's funny af. He comes from a family that uses dragon-type pokemon but he isn't like a scary-buff dude rather he will break to tears if you show him a rock. A ROCK!

But oh boy, THE ENDING??!! Beautiful shit right here. Even tho I liked PLA's story, it wasn't really a satisfying one. But ScVi on the other hand?

Professor Turo (and Sada too) is an AI? Built by the original Prof. AND They fucking dead?!? That was a plot twist a didn't expect. And because of that, Prof. Turo is one of my favorites. (As I said, am biased towards Violet.) I wouldn't consider the professors evil, more like morally gray like Lusamine. Well... technically all the villains kinda are, expect Ghetsis. Fuck that guy.

The music is spot on! Gen 5 is my favorite, so this gens music hits hard. The environment and the cities are nice but could be better. Can see that they put more effort into the story and Area Zero. Paradox pokemon are cool too. Also, I like the new pokemon. The starters are nice too. I love Meowscarada, Quaquaval is nice, but the legs bother me. Skeledirge is ugly, don't like him.

As I said, Scarlet and Violet is a beautiful game. Wish it had more polishing time and such. If I'd give a score for the game... I'd say 8.5/10. Why not more?

The performance issues and other things... I'm sorry, they game a bitter taste, because of it.

They didn't ruin my experience and some of the bugs and glitches are funny tho. Didn't run into major problems. The only this that kinda got ruined was the Elite four and the Champion fight. The music was on a loop. My first thought was "That's it?" Later however it was due to a memory leak. But I kinda liked the Elite four loop-music-bug. It made the fight more serious.

Will I recommend these games? Yes, but if you can look past the issues and problems. Other than that, if you just like to complain, I'd recommend getting another game or emulating/playing other pokemon games.

i really love the way you are structuring your scenes. the quick transitions, the balance of dialogue and interiority. i especially love how you're establishing settings. i somehow get a little lost when reading fic because of the lack of setting (which is understandable, i get authors wanting to get to the hot stuff!) but i love that you are giving us the full sensory details. my favorites so far:

"the inside of your cotton tank top sticks uncomfortably to your skin, the same way that the soft hairs at the back of your neck are sticking to each other." and "the world around you is blue and green." it's all of it tbh

do you watched anime series and ghibli films?

Oh dear, Aparna I am so very sorry I didn't notice you sent this ask over a month ago. 😭

In terms of anime I used to watch lots more frequently back when I was in high school. A lot of the shows I watched were an obvious escape. In adult life tho, I haven't really watched as much anime as I used to back when I was a teenager.

I really enjoyed My Happy Marriage when it was coming out last year (is it primarily because it heavily reinforced my fangirl crush on the English voice actor for Lurd Kudou who I mainly know for being a Youtube funny boi .. maybe lol).

I believe that was also when I finally got caught up with s3 of SM Crystal + the Eternal movies. Honestly I'd done that in anticipation for the Cosmos movies but they don't seem to have gone straight to N/etflix internationally the way the Eternal movies did back when there were still some semblance of C*vid restrictions. I technically have a VPN I could probably use to see if it's available elsewhere, but my experience with VPNs in the time I've tried them has been a lil bit lackluster, so idk, we'll see what I'll do about that eventually. 🤷‍♀️

My best friend got me interested in watching RGU as well, but I kind of fell off my initial watch thru .. which I'm realizing was also sometimes early last year. I have been thinking about getting back into it lately tho, so hopefully I can carve out some time for that eventually. I want to see the entire series first and then the movie to see where they differ, I've been informed the endings are very different. From what I can tell I'll probably prefer the movie ending. 🤔

I also only recently noticed that there was a Violet Evergarden movie released back in 2k20 that I didn't know about, so I definitely want to watch that eventually as well.

You can probably see a pattern with a lot of what I watch lol. I think over the years it's become apparent I'm drawn to pretty shoujo/magical girl/romantic aesthetic anime more than the types of anime that get super popular, which tend to be shounen action-y stuff. I guess the one exception (sort of) was that I watched the live action OP last year. The anime was literally my favorite back in high school, I'm telling you I was watching like 6-8 episodes per day back then, maybe? Just to get caught up with where the anime was at the time lol. I don't have much enthusiasm about getting back into the anime, but the live action version definitely reignited my love for the series so I'm looking forward to the next season.

As for Ghibli movies, I always preferred Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle over everything else. I haven't really watched any of them in a long time either tho. 😅

I didn't have any progress yet about my SP manifestation but it's okay since affirming has become more natural to me and I've been calm about everything. If I feel the slightest hint of an opposing thought coming, I realize that music or playing Splatoon 3 helps a lot.

But at least I had a wonderful dream where SP and I were loving and teasing each other. So between my self care session of yesterday and that dream, everything is wonderful to me.

The affirmations I'm looping are: "SP loves me, SP needs me" "SP is super obsessed with me"

I also gathered subliminals from Violet Daze and Medusa for when I have to do chores at home, so I can blast them at my headphones while also affirming.

The only problem of the severe mental diet is that because I muted many things and I am just focusing on myself, is the fact that I forgot that all my friends know I am chronically ill and they thought I am either having a severe fever or at the hospital. I had to clarify to the ones that called me that I'm fine and just taking some days for physical and mental recovery, and that it doesn't have anything to do with my SP.

Like I mentioned before, my friends are very skeptical of LoA and also are VERY against my SP. So I have to keep all of this secret. I'll eventually affirm that they support us and any person opposing on his side too also support us. But I admit I'm really sad that only 2 people support me with SP (one even fully skeptical about SP becoming a better person but at least not totally against it).

I'm not discouraged tho! I feel fine and calm and fully know that SP is mine already and that he is already the perfect man for me.

You were trembling, and you knew your husband could feel the shaking in your hands as you gripped his leather-clad elbow like a vice.

You were walking together in the predawn light, down the sloping hills outside King’s Landing, where Aemond knew his dragon took up residence, being too big for the Dragon Pit.  Your belly was round with his child, and Aemond had taken great care in leading you along the rugged terrain.

Upon hearing the familiar nickname your husband had given you, a smile tugged at your lips.  With renewed bravery, and a dose of curiosity, you allowed Aemond to lead you down the hill and onto the sandy beach.

Vhagar marked your approach, raising her head, yellow eyes surveying you and Aemond with interest.

“Rytsas, Vhagar!” Aemond’s commanding voice boomed to greet his dragon. “Bisa iksos issa ābrazȳrys.”

Still supporting your swollen belly with one hand, you leaned into Aemond. “What did you just say?”  Your voice was a hoarse whisper.

“I greeted her and said you are my wife.”  You were very close to the dragon now, craning your neck to look into her eye.  Her hot breath washed over you, blowing your hair away from your face in a rush.

“You can touch her.”

“I can…what?”

Aemond chuckled, lifting your hand still interlocked with his, and guiding you forward slowly until you felt the iron scales of Vhagar’s snout under your fingers. Despite yourself, you reveled in the feeling of the dragon’s hide, stroking along the rigid skin.  It reminded you of tree bark in a way, and you felt Vhagar press gently against you in return.  She made a contented grumble deep in her throat, sounding like a hundred earthquakes, yet a quiet noise for the enormous creature.

“She likes you.”  Aemond whispered, tucking his chin into the crook of your shoulder from where he stood behind you.  He placed a warm kiss to your neck. “Would you like to ride her?”

Your heart stuttered at the thought of mounting such a great beast. “I am quite content with my feet firmly upon the ground, thank you.”

Aemond tugged you to Vhagar’s side, the dragon’s eyes still upon you, and gestured to the rope ladder that led up to a distant saddle you could just make out upon her back.

You turned to your husband incredulously. “You’re going to make your pregnant wife ride the largest dragon in Westeros?”

He tilted his head at you, a smirk curving his lips. “How many times have you asked me to recount the experience of dragon riding?  How often do you give me cheek for not taking you with me?”  He gestured behind you to where Vhagar watched. “She has met you; she knows you are mine and carry our child within you.  She will be gentle with you, as I desire it.”

Sure enough, Aemond was right beneath you the entire ascent to Vhagar’s back.  It was tough work, made more awkward by your pregnant condition.  Arms shaking, you made it to the saddle and Aemond was quickly at your side, helping you straddle the leather seat.  He tied you securely in place, and slid in behind you, tying the ropes about his own person as well.  You felt his arms come about you firmly, his breath tickled your ear. “Say ‘sōvegon’.  That means ‘fly’ in Valyrian.  ‘Dohaeris’ means ‘serve’, though I doubt you will need to use it.”

You leaned into his warm embrace, shivering slightly in the cool breeze. “How do you get a dragon to breathe fire?”

“Perhaps we will save that for a later date.”  Aemond laughed lightly, squeezing your thighs.

Vhagar’s head was so far distant from where you sat, you wondered if she’d be able to hear you.  Gathering as much air as possible in your lungs, you shouted, “Sōvegon, Vhagar!”  A shifting beneath you, like an island coming out of the sea, caused you to squeal and clutch at Aemond’s hands.

“Once more, tell her to fly.”  He prompted, voice loud in your ear as Vhagar got to her feet, stretching her mile-long wings.

“Sōvegon!”  Your vocal cords already felt sore, but your shout did the trick.

With lumbering steps, and a great flapping of wings, Vhagar gained speed and launched herself into the clear sky.  Birds fled the area in haste as the great dragon soared ever higher, the landscape below growing small beneath you, the Red Keep and surrounding cities looking like mere toys.

You heard Aemond in your ear, voice straining over the rush of wind. “Tell her ‘Gūrogon īlva lenton’.  Take us home.”

You repeated the words, shouting to Vhagar.  Aemond laughed, “Not ‘leyton’, my love, ‘lenton’.

“Kirimvose.”  Aemond released you, lingering behind as you approached Vhagar’s face once more.

“Of course, Y/N.  This day is yours, to do with as you please.”  His low voice was sweet as he stopped to gaze at you, drinking in your every expression, the golden light of morning lighting his handsome face.

“Aemond…how do you say ‘I love you’ in Valyrian?”

“Avy jorrāelan.”

“Avy jorrāelan, my dragon.”
