As news broke out of the fateful betrothed between two kings and long time friends were canceled, the land was overrun with gossip centering around the mad princess who would force a father to break his oath. It was interesting. If this were her first life, she would have crumpled under such rumors. But now she could listen in and smile as her maids and attendants try their best to shield her but ultimately fail at protecting her from the harsh world of gossip.

However this was a first to catch a pair of nobles talking disgracing her honor. She stood for a moment to listen.

'Turning down the King's proposal? To rule her own land? Preposterous!'

'His highness Leodegrance must have gone mad if he's even considering letting a woman rule'

'If I were him I would beat sense into that child!'

'Such beauty is wasted on that strange woman.'

"Goodness I didn't know noblemen of your stature had so much free time that they would fuss over such meaningless things." She spoke up, startling them. And of course when confronted with their grievous actions they would apologize deeply, begging for forgiveness. It was cruel of her but she did enjoy seeing them grovel and squirm. 'I'm sorry please forgive me for uttering such thoughtless words my King!' King? Confused she turns around to see Arthur behind her, ah no wonder they were so quick to beg for forgiveness, but why was he here?

"My apologies your grace I didn't know you were here. Is there something you need?"

She wasn't sure how this man got onto her land, she hadn't caught the scent of the intruder until she had already spotted him completely surrounded by the flock. Some were baa'ing at him, another chewing on his clothes, and the youngest bouncing around hoping to play.

"That's...." She was torn, she didn't like seeing this sudden intruder but the sheep seemed to be excited and curious about this new visitor. "This is my land... Why are you here?" At her words the flock stepped back from the silver haired stranger once they realize he wasn't a guest but kept their curious gaze.

Newly debuted with an outstanding reception so far, it's no wonder the barely 18 is just a little cocky. At least there's obviously playfulness in his tone as he addresses his 'elder', currently perched on top of a bookcase in the hallways just because he can be. After a few seconds, he drops down, landing smoothly before tilting his head at the other hero.

" Well? Did you bring back anything cool? Gossip totally counts -"

A choked sound followed his bellow when he realized those exact words were used by his father when he was yelling at his mother his entire childhood. He flinched viscerally before turning away from Will and cupping his hands to his face, shaking his head and hissing slow breaths. "Fuck... Will, I'm sorry." He pushed his hands up into his hair and clenched the curls at the top, squeezing his eyes shut. "I don't mean to get like this, I really don't. You deserve better. I just... don't know why I'm like this sometimes."

Tears spring to the corners of his eyes and he clears his throat, swallowing multiple times to suppress the urge to cry. He didn't understand why he always had to lash out at the ones he loved the most. And he was being a bad model for Willow, who could surely hear their arguments from her room. He did not want her to grow up like he did with a dad that had a hair trigger temper, yelling at the top of his lungs, slamming doors, and stomping around like a tyrant. She deserved better than that. So did Will.

Christmas as a cultural icon is starting to get really dystopian in a climate sense, december has historically been a time of year in which there would be snow in a significant portion of europe and north america, and the fact that its not even icy this time of year and all the christmas songs and decorations reference a time of year that will likely never exist in the same way again in my life time is so strange.

It's evening by the time Kyojuro finds himself traversing the dirt road that led to his family's estate. One hand rested on the pommel of his Nichirin blade while the other held a carefully bundled stack of boxes. A slightly colored cloth was wrapped around them to keep them from falling out and they hung by his side discreetly though he made no attempt to hide them.

Eventually he reaches the entrance to his estate, eyes darting around until he locates Senjuro.

" I have returned!" He announces proudly, hoisting up the bundle he held as though it were a trophy of sorts.
