But nevertheless, here he was. Dethroned. Defamed. He’d almost convinced himself his queen planned on letting him rot eternally, but when he heard the creak of a door on that fateful day—could’ve been morning, afternoon… or perhaps his darling had decided to pay an evening visit when all had quieted down—Magnifico hadn’t needed to see her to know. Her footsteps were a recognizable rhythm, soft and elegant, down the steps. Somehow, the echo seemed to penetrate his magical prison just as well, and in some way, each beat trembled down to his core.

When she stood outside the bars, however, peered in at that loathsome little mirror on the wall, he was ready to face her. That is, he’d convinced the faint flutter in his chest that he was.

“You’ve placed a magical mirror in which I am already very securely contained—trust me, I’ve had plenty of time to determine that’s the case—within a literal prison cell,” he observed blandly, head cocking while a bitter smile tugged on his lips. “Is that not just a touch excessive, my dear?”

Vehicles were definitely off the list for a number of reasons. And the red-head had already spent quite some time giving her lessons by using a docile horse.

While there were similarities to riding a monstie, horses were quite a bit different in behavior, gaits, tack, and build. Lisa just wanted to ensure there was a clear understanding; she would feel awful if Mari got hurt due to negligence on Lisa's behalf.

Ok so this is extremely funny to me because I know next to nothing about Nathaniel Howe. I lost interest in Awakening because of the acute Zevran deficiency, and only played long enough to get accosted by that foul-tempered sod. And he reckoned he was Tim Curry's son! Positively outrageous. I still haven't forgiven him for giving my Rhodri trouble.

So I'm going to choose him to go clothes shopping with. For me, the task is like pulling teeth, and is often a fruitless endeavour to boot, and I wouldn't want to make Rhod or Morrigan suffer through that. I'm relishing the idea of driving this man up the bloody wall as I intentionally forget his name and loudly remark that he's not to steal my wallet whenever he walks too close to me-- all the while as I despair at the lack of clothing that is both Very Gender and Not Physically Painful To Wear. If he apologises for being a shit to Rhodri and endeavours to do better, I'll buy him a doughnut afterward. He can't say I don't do nothin' for him.

For Morrigan, I'm going to haul her off to IKEA, possibly even with Kieran in tow if he's counted in this scenario. I can't see Morrigan being willing to drop him off at the Småland play area, though, so perhaps not. Honestly, though, I think it'd be interesting just to see what actually catches her eye there. Say what you want about IKEA, but they usually have something for everyone there, and I want to know what her something is. Is it the iconic Poäng chair? Maybe a Billy bookshelf to store her illicit tomes? Perhaps the green snake toy for her little feller? I know for a fact that she would not be able to resist the blue carry bags. We can spray paint them black for her when we get home.

And that leaves grocery shopping with Rhodri. I think she'd be a dream to go grocery shopping with, because she'd buy you a million of whatever you like the look of and insist on paying for it. Who am I to object to being gifted six-and-a-half metric kilometres of ice cream? Also, I tend to be a rather embarrassing person to be around in public because I dance and do stupid shit to please myself, and Rhodri just... wouldn't care. Provided it's not immodest, she'd get in on the action, which means I have someone to quickstep down the hypermarket aisles with, or break out a ridiculous duet as we wait for our turn with the cashier. She would definitely push me in the trolley, which, like the Swiss flag, is a huge plus.

Yeah!! I totally get where you're coming from!! She's not exactly dumb, it's actually quite the opposite. I'd like to hc her as a girl who managed to get into a very good university and is studying astrophysics simply because she liked watching stars as a child. She's not dumb— just a girl who grew up extremely sheltered and hasn't seen the world through the eyes of someone who has had a difficult life, like Simon.

There's certain naivety that while it can be dangerous, she's been learning more and more about with Simon's help about stranger danger and trusting her instinct, but the girl is always surrounded by people who enjoy seeing her thrive and always teach her the things that her parents didn't.

I'd say in general she has a very good life, and now paired with Simon, someone whose entire soul wants to see her thrive?? She gets to turn off her brain and simply let him take control— he sometimes picks her clothes for her, dressing her up to the best of his capacity even when he's not a fashion guy.

This man has studied all her Instagram pictures because she's mesmerizing and he loves her that much, yet it also gives him the chance to more or less know what combinations she likes to wear. He still remembers the time she looked at him like he grew a second head for trying to make her wear dots and lines— but he never made that same mistake again.

They work surprisingly well together despite basically being on complete opposite sides of a spectrum, and at the end of the day, they work this well because they're both equally in love with the other.

Simon is level-headed and that gives her the chance to simply be herself without worrying about anything, he gives her a sense of security that she's never gotten with anyone else, while bimbo!reader gives Simon the love and affection he never even dared to think about. The main thing is that she looks and treats him like he's worth something how good of a soldier he is. Hell, she doesn't even know he's a soldier, she simply found the most brooding and intimidating guy and fell in love with him before she even knew it.

They both spoil each other a lot. Simon buys her things, treats her with patience and love, and generally treats her like the princess that she is, while she takes care of Simon like no other. She does face masks with him, gives him massages, does his manicure (trimming and cleaning his nails, putting lotion on his calloused hands), and is overall as patient as they come.

They're a pretty wholesome pair and quite honestly I enjoy writing about them a lot, the love they have for each other is fully pure and it makes me happy. :')

Oh my GOD THIS IS INCREDIBLE! 8D I don't know how you keep pulling this off- I haven't thought about this scene in a hot second and now I just CAN'T stop thinking about it! I LOVE it! I love the details of the Moltens getting more visibly agitated and aggressive through Ennard's speech, I love the cutting and getting to see the other characters, I EVEN LOVE MICHAEL'S LITTLE FALL WHICH I ONLY JUST NOTICED!

I am NOT going to be sleeping tonight but I am so happy! And this was, ironically, perfect timing because I've got an Ennard section on a tough chapter that I have to type up and this has given me that sweet, sweet pep.

Hallo everyone!  Tumblr devlog time. 

So the big update for this week is that I released Episode 1 (Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2) to Patreon early access. So every tier from $10 and up can play the content of Episode 1. Which is about 80,000 words + 8000 of bonus scenes. If you want a full rundown of the new content...

I have talked about all of this before in scattered devlogs but the above page has all the updates/features in one place.

Episode 1 will remain accessible to Patrons only for a couple more weeks before the public release of this episode but going forward early access will last a full month or more before public release.

Writing/Playtesting:

The only writing I've really done is plotting out a bonus scene. This scene happens in between Ch 2 and Ch 3 and unlike the Ch1 bonus scenes, where each character gets one, this is a group scene that just didn't really fit in the larger story.

I have something fun planned for it. OwO

Art:

I received new BG art of course. As usual.

But also I started working on the CGs for Episode 2. I'm going to try to do CGs in every chapter but we'll see how long that holds up. 8D Rofl

Still, because Wil is not going to appear in as many CGs I think that drawing that much solo art wouldn't be too hard? We'll see, though.

Point is! I completed one of Kav's CGs for the next episode and I've got one of Daaz's...maybe 50% complete?

And of course, Kav already has one that's fully complete too.

Upcoming Weeks:

In the upcoming weeks I will continue working on Episode 2 so I can get it into beta as soon as possible. Realistically that is still going to be a while though. I have a lot of work to do before it's ready for anyone to look at it. But that is my focus at this point.

Reposting my post about Itsuki and Sensui relationship canon status: I would like to clear the misunderstanding. 😇 Togashi absolutely confirmed Itsuki and Sensui relationship status here.

This is the original text in Japanese confirming their dating status:

"...仙水に倒されかけるが 、 その後仙水と * 、 つきあい始める..."

[* I have fixed the order of the sentence, thanks to user @/vanityxvanitas who pointed out in my 1st post I had not paid attention to Papago image to text rough phrasing. ]

Togashi used "つきあい始める" (or tsukiai hajimeru) which means "to start dating" or "to begin a relationship". Even if you don't speak Japanese, you can easily find this meaning online with a quick search, too.

These are all basic websites with not much dive in the Japanese slang use but you see can see the context and clearly intended meaning of the phrase/word/verb used by Togashi sensei.

Tsukiai can refer to "association" or "relationship," and it's often used in the context of romantic relationships. And hajimeru (始める) means "to start" or "to begin". When you combine them in a phrase like ""...仙水に倒されかけるが 、 その後仙水と * 、 つきあい始める..."" it conveys the idea of initiating a romantic relationship with someone. It implies that Itsuki and Sensui transitioned from a state of not being romantically involved to starting a romantic relationship.

The context of the phrase Togashi added right after is also VERY important:

translates to "It seems he was seeing other humans before meeting Sensui." ( Or, "going out with other humans before meeting Sensui).

With this additional context it further suggests that the character began dating after a close encounter with Sensui and Itsuki had been involved with other people prior to meeting Sensui.

I don't know why focus on the general meaning of the verb tsukiai, when the context explicitly translates to started dating or started a relationship, or seeing each other romantically. Also, in Japan, this is used as a popular "slang" between teens and younger folks to confirm/imply a relationship.

The entire context of the phrase and the words here are confirming their status as dating. Its inconspicuous to say that つきあい始める is not used here in a romantic context, instead of focusing on what the verb tsukiai can mean WITHOUT the provided context.

I hope I cleared this misconception, and you can further find information about the phrase in Japanese, and just search the phrase in Japanese and you will find Japanese website and forums talking about how they want to refer to their significant other or how to express they are dating someone.
