Rory was breathing harder now. It was a mixture of panic and slow acceptance. His own train of thought followed Dark to the same conclusion: as hard as he tried, if he carried on he risked hurting Amy. He didn’t want to, he would try his hardest not to. But it wasn’t a guarantee.

“is it better or worse to not leave anything behind?” He asked, mostly to himself. What would he even say? Actually a psychotic Time Lord. I’m sorry. I love you. See you later. ? He didn’t know. He wasn’t sure he wanted to anymore. So his thumb brushed over the little release button on the cover of the watch. Rory paused from that impulse, and put the watch on his wrist, looking at it for fully for perhaps the first time ever. There was an internal agreement inside of himself. A conversation, maybe a deal— and then Rory Williams opened the watch quick after. Like jumping into a pool. Like jumping into countless other deaths before.

And oh, did becoming hurt. Oh, it hurt like a bitch, so long locked away, still fresh from regeneration that had practically stalled out into a chameleon arch some centuries ago now. He yelled, something loud and a bit hoarse, leaning over himself for a few moments, catching his breath.

Then he stopped, and straightened out, rolling his shoulders back and letting a shudder run full through his body. Right. There was someone there.

“…. Thank you.”

In this moment it occurred to Dark that he surprisingly didn’t feel the sadistic glee he would ordinally feel. In fact, he realized there was a lingering part of him that was heartbroken seeing his former companion go through this. For as much as he hated the human race he couldn’t get himself to hate Rory or Amy. He’d spent so much time with them, gotten to know them and had considered them family. And now that the Master was coming out, Rory was gone, finally, and Amy would come home to an empty house, because of him.

A stray few tears escaped before Dark shook his head at the thought. He the better part of 400 years detaching himself rom human sentiment and emotions. He couldn’t, no wouldn’t, let one death change that now. And for the first time in nearly 600 years, a friend he long thought dead was finally in front of him. No longer contained in a flimsy watch. Living, breathing, hearts beating. In pain, yes, but ALIVE. 

“So you were here,” Dark spoke quietly for the first time, his own voice hoarse. “This whole time you were here. I wonder if I looked so close in my universe, would I have found you?”

He refused to take his eyes off of the time lord, he took a final step closer and in a moment of weakness pulled him into a hesitant but warm embrace. “I’m not alone. Truly not alone.”

@11thsshadow Rory Williams… Was not having a good time. Before they went back to their capital-R Regular Lives, it wasn’t too bad. Now that he was back out in the real world for a while it was more imperative to keep it under wraps. At the hospital, spending time with his dad, to a degree when he was alone with Amy… It felt important to him to keep it a secret. It felt important to not talk about the watch he’d happened upon that he swore his… Dad gave to him? How frequent his already chronic migraines were becoming, vivid nightmares, strange impulses, erratic emotions… 

He was taking a day to himself for the first time in a long time. Amy was apparently on a girl’s trip, he didn’t have work. Tend to the garden, sit on the couch… It’s why he jumped when he came back inside their house to see the Doctor there. Just. Standing there. And I Rory must have looked so confused. “What the- you can’t just- that’s— I- I didn’t even hear you. What are you doing here? Ah-“ Rory cleared his throat, straightening out, trying to appear less cagey. “Hi?”

flux adjacent fic recs

in media res by wreckageofstars (3k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: “Well,” she said. “Now you know what the mattress is for.” Dan shifted. “And the trampoline?” “Best not ask about the trampoline.” //I think this is probably the first Dan pov fic I ever read, and it’s absolutely brilliant. This author gets the character voices down so perfectly it’s unreal, and the whole thing is just so wonderful to see from Dan’s outsider perspective. It’s set in the immediate aftermath of Once, Upon Time, and it does a fantastic job of exploring the impact of what happened in that episode – both from a whump perspective and an emotional one. Angsty, but also funny in the worst kind of way – someone please go give Yaz a break, she REALLY needs one. Anyway, it’s great, everyone go read it right now.

Hearts of Stone by weirdpug (previously xhonia) (1k, 1 chapter, thoschei) summary: The Doctor loses herself. The Master finds her. //Ohhh this one this one, it’s SO awesome – it’s one of those fics that does really cool things with the formatting? Which works great here, because it’s a weeping angel!13 fic and wow, wow! Extremely awesome indeed, and just beautifully written – the prose is just so full of character, even when the Doctor is losing herself and it’s so well done.

Divination by WalkerLister (6k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: “There was a name for someone similar to me once. They called them the Valeyard. You can call me that, if you like. I quite like it, it’s suitably eerie. Little bit of drama never hurt anyone.” //Right, so we all remember what happened when War of the Sontarans aired…we got that ‘next time’ trailer of Once Upon Time…and all collectively lost our minds over the inverted dark coat. Since then, I feel like everyone has been finding really creative ways to get it into fanfics, and this is a wonderful example. And, well, if the promise of dark coat!13 wasn’t enough, this fic is just an absolutely fascinating look at the concept of the Valeyard in the context of the fobwatch from Flux, but focused on Yaz and her relationship with/perception of the Doctor. It’s such a good concept and so so wonderfully done! (also, if you’re a fan of thasmin, this author has a ton of stuff, so definitely go check it all out! For the less thasmin-inclined folks, I highly recommend Ipesity, which is one of my favourite post-TTC fics)

three points where two lines meet by Ymae (4k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: The Doctor tries to get those memories back, and breaks herself, bit by bit. //Oh man. This fic. I still remember when this one first posted and hoooooo boy, it is a hell of a gut-punch and absolutely wrenched my heart right out of my chest but HHHHHHHHH wow!! WOW. Genuinely, I think this fic rewrote my brain a little bit. It's set in the immediate aftermath of Once, Upon Time where the Doctor makes some very unwise decisions about trying to tug at her timeline and it's absolutely incredible. Very angsty, very whumpy, and full of a HUGE amount of the Doctor messing with timelines and very visceral, tangible descriptions of her timesense. It is such a treat, guys. And if you like this one and want something with similar vibes, I also highly recommend this post-flux fic by the same author!

Sheer Poetry! by Papapaldi (57k, 5 chapters, gen) summary: Trapped within her own mind, the Doctor travels through an impossible house, with everyone she has ever been locked inside. Her body is an unresponsive, useless bag of flesh somewhere far and away in reality. The part of her brain that she knows, where her past resides, sits somewhere else entirely within the old machine. The Ravagers eat, buried memories beckon, and the Doctor's faith is shaken to its core. She will never be the same – but that's what she's all about, right? Incredible change. //oh my days. THIS FIC, guys - look, I see the word count, I know, I know. This fic is a serious undertaking, but like so many things in life it is soooooo so worth it. Bucket loads of absolutely ASTOUNDING imagery, more references to Lungbarrow and Timewyrm Revelation than you can shake a stick at, BUT you don't need to have read those stories at all to enjoy this absolutely fantastic saga (put it like this - I've not read those books, and I had a whale of a time). Incredibly poetic, a little nonsensical in the best kind of way (it IS a mindscape fic) but startlingly funny and so beautifully in character. I laughed, I cried. This fic is just a love letter to everything Doctor Who, weaving all of canon into this beautiful, cohesive tapestry. I highly recommend. (and, if you're hungry for more and want tpotd content, there's an excellent sequel as well)

every step i choose to take (begins to set the world aflame) by SleepyMaddy (12k, 1 chapter, thoschei) summary: In a spaceport lost in a remote quadrant of interstellar space, a Doctor who doesn’t know herself anymore runs into a Master who doesn’t know himself yet // Ok so the sheer concept of this one ALONE is absolutely brilliant – the Doctor, escaping from the Division and half out of her head, bumps into the Master, who’s not long regenerated from Missy. And, guys. It’s fascinating. Seeing the Master right at the start, before he finds out everything that comes to define him in this era, and then having him meet a version of the Doctor who is quite a lot further along than him and just completely out of it? It’s like catnip to me, guys. And, of course, it’s all helped by the fact that the writing is absolutely brilliant – the characters are just absolutely spot on, which is quite an incredible feat seeing as they are both in very different places to where we see them in the show, yet they still manage to ring true throughout the whole thing. And also the mindscape imagery? The psychic whump? The emotional gut-punch that is the entire fic? Absolutely unparalleled. (also, if you’re a spydoc fan? Just help yourself out and read this author’s entire set of works, because it’s all fantastic)

see me bare my teeth for you by picnokinesis (16k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: “Do you know your mission?” //This is a bit of a cheeky self-rec, but, in my defence, if you're looking for flux fics, then I think you'll enjoy this one. I wrote it in the week after Village of the Angels aired, and it's basically all my thoughts and theories about what was going to happen in Survivors of the Flux thrown into a 16k oneshot. I was...mostly wrong HAHA but I’m still really proud of it. If you like division!doctor, then this one is for you

we're only dreaming (tell me who i am) by SpaceBetweenGalaxies (2k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: more the-memory-house-is-Lungbarrow clowning //ok, so if you were like me when flux was airing and absolutely lost your MIND over the illogical house which was a bit too on the nose regarding Lungbarrow related things, then THIS FIC IS FOR YOU. Absolutely brilliantly done, with some gorgeous imagery that I'm still thinking about to this day, and just a wonderfully unsettling exploration of the Doctor and how she picks at those cut off memories in the aftermath of the Flux

the stars are bound to change by emptypockets (9k, 1 chapter, gen) summary: Being trisected across the universe has unexpected consequences for the Doctor, and Yaz is tasked with the responsibility of keeping her awake. //ohhhhhh this fic is so wonderful!! It's that weird sweet spot of 'soft angst', where it hits where it hurts but at the same time the whole thing feels like it's wrapping you in a warm blanket. Augh!! Such a lovely portrayal of the Doctor and Yaz's dynamic - I adore how this author writes these two so much. An absolutely lovely (but angsty!) character exploration, with a healthy dose of whump and sleepiness on the side. What more could you want?

Everything by rowanthestrange (24k, 13 chapters, thasmin) summary: In which Yaz wants to know everything, and the Doctor finally wants that too. //Ok, so full disclosure, I don't read that much thasmin, but this fic, guys. It's just gorgeous. A beautifully written exploration of Yaz and her relationship with the Doctor in the aftermath of Flux, which explores the years Yaz spent in the past and how that changed her; the Doctor grappling with her identity issues and how that's changed her; as well as all sorts of other wonderful things besides. Another fic that had tears streaming down my face (the TARDIS chapter got me...). It's such a poignant, emotional fic, and it's very focused on character in a way that I really adore. If you like thasmin, this is an absolute must-read. If you're not a fan of thasmin, I recommend it anyway (- signed: a thoschei shipper) because it's just such a brilliant portrayal of these two.

oh, of course, that would be delightful. just uh. have to. uhm. know what they look like. uhhhhhhhh.

see this would be easier if even did not keep changing up their style in my head in accordance to who they've most recently interacted with. aslkjalkdjs fun character quirk! nightmare for having a set description for them.

but i guess some things don't change. like, even's about 5'7'' i think i decided? and unless they're in a Very Bad Situation that forces this to change, they're fat. androgynous less in a Neutral way and more in a 'too many confusing signals to figure out what they're suppose to be' way. they usually prefer dark or duller colors to wear. their natural hair color is a wooden brown and without interference, their eyes are, too. (even has bleached their hair before while traveling with the doctor. incorrectly. it came out very strawberry blonde, and they kept it that way until The Horrors.)

uhmm. other things that are pretty consistent with them. post-s4 they keep a fobwatch on them at all times on a chain around their neck. (and the chain itself is messily decorated with poorly soldered on beads from their friendship bracelet that the doctor once made them.) there's also the matter of the missing/replaced body parts from The Horrors, which at the least is a few fingers on their left hand and a scar from that time the master removed their damaged liver to put a new one in, and probably more lmao. sky's the limit on what weird body horror replacements you want to put on them tbh, they're all equally as likely, even's a little messed up. they'll assimilate to the style of who they're traveling with and keep elements of it with them, which is why they end up wearing tennis shoes forever because the doctor did when they were with him the first time and why they end up wearing skirts a lot more often post-missy.

aksdjalsjd honestly whatever flourishes you'd want to make by yourself to add to that, i'd probably just accept into my brain as canon and true.

But we ran into a problem. While my sister and I made it to Earth with our memories in the Fobwatch, my brother and mother both ended up missing. I have no idea where they went. We were only children when all of this happened.”

Dark hair fell from her shoulder as she titled her head. The Visionary listened carefully to him, taking in every detail as he spoke. She knew of the second destruction of Gallifrey, her brother had been missing, presumed dead, since. "Do you have any leads?" She asked after he had finished. He had said they were only children, but perhaps there was a chance that he'd found something along the way.

A deep breath, this was the first time the Professor was scared. Truly scared. The thought of being hunted scared her. What was hunting them? She hadn't a clue, but the Master seemed unphased by them. At-least outwardly he seemed courageous and brave. Yes, she could be very brave and daring but in a different light. More adventurous in the terms of lighthearted adventures. “Then don’t leave!” she called to him in the middle of the darkness, she could hear voices but what they were she couldn’t make out. Her knowledge failed her in this situation. She wasn’t a warrior at all. Not like he was. She knew the Master could survive but she relied on her empathy and knowledge of the situation and those involved before hand. There was some things that she just wasn’t aware of. Like it was locked from her and she couldn’t explain why. 

It gotten quiet al of a sudden, dead silence something she wasn’t used to. Even if the quietist of moments she could hear the ticking of the clock that was embedded into her timeline. There was nothing. A deep breath was exhaled from her lungs. That’s when her fear had gotten the best of her, she was alone wasn’t she? That’s when a hand went to her shoulder and with a swift movement she twisted the being’s arms and with all her might tossed them over her shoulder and onto the ground, twisting the being’s limb in order to dislocate it’s shoulder. That’s when she realized who it was.”Koschei!” she gasped and instantly let go. Fright on her face. She hadn’t been this scared since the pair fobwatched themselves. “ -- are you --- what’s going on?”

As  much  he  had  his  TARDIS  inside  his  hands,  awaiting  to  be  useful  for  his  own  little  ambitions  when  he  would  be  a  ruler  as  much  he  desired  …an  unexpected  frustration  born  quickly  afterwards  that  short  enjoyement  of  victory.  Strangely,  for  the  first  time,  he  didn’t  seemed  it  was  the  Doctor  in  cause  —  meddling  even  before  he  was  allowed  to  get  his  fun  …  but  …  something  else  …  an  bad  sensation  hanging  in  the  atmosphere  …  that  impression  of  becoming  the  show  of  some  playground  he  missed  out  …  that  horrible  tension  about  been  manipulated  by  someone  he  wished  to  manipulate  …  Even  since  he  tried  to  back  a  paradox  towards  that  blue  box,  he  sensed  something  odd.  The  TARDIS,  apparently,  had  to  pretending  not  to  be  affected  by  another  paradox,  to  pretending  such  action  hadn’t  been  carried  before  …  Did  his  best  enemy  even  noticed  that  before,  than  even  his  time  machine  reacted  towards  an  strange  accepteance  once  an  paradox  was  involved  ?  Or  did  he  was  stupid  enough  for  be  the  one  fucking  notice  it  when  he  wanted  tourmenting  his  ship  ?  It  was  a  detail  around  the  time  vortex  as  many  other  troubling  elements.  There  were  strange  men,  at  unexpected  spots,  who  sometimes  watched  him  —  or  when  he  thought  he  had  been  watched  by  such  guys.  Old-fashioned  men  all  in  black,  showing  themselves  for  couple  of  seconds,  when  he  rarely  had  such  occassions  to  confirm  if  they  were  humans  or  not  —  when  he  didn’t  bloody  care  about  some  outdated  urban  legend  of  that  world  who  wasn’t  going  to  scare  him  !  Though  …  there  was  an  sensation  of  familiarity  to  it.  As  there  was  an  secret  underneath.  As  far  he  coud  anticipating  events  inside  his  little  realm  in  becoming,  he  sensed  trouble.  He  didn’t  expected  the  Time  Lord  he  left  behind  in  Utopia,  heartbroken,  staring  around  without  found  an  temporal  mean  to  stop  him  —  they  were  used  to  such  dance  since  many  incarnations,  when  he  missed  old  times  when  he  could  fool  him  at  every  occassion.  Destroying  remnant  of  innocence  inside  his  friend  remained  one  of  his  favorite  pleasure.  Besides,  there  was  something  else  with  him.  Someone  he  wanted.  Someone  who  resonated  into  the  potential  threat  he  was  sending  to  himself  —  but  someone  he  desired.  Regardless  how  the  fobwatch  created  a  lie,  generating  most  contredict  personnality  of  the  real  one,  there  had  been  anchored  feelings  associated  to  it.  Jamie  Burke  remained  his  wife,  whatever  if  everything  else  had  been  a  lie  from  his  part,  and  gratefully  if  she  shared  same  burden.  How  long  did  she  had  been  probably  losing  her  own  sense  of  identity  to  thinking  herself  human  ?  It  was  his  thoughts  at  every  moment  he  watched  an  old  broken  compass,  admiring  every  corner  of  it.  It  was  his  weapon.  It  was  his  mean  to  pressuring  the  Doctor  for  good.  Even  if  …  apparently,  there  was  something  else  who  didn’t  appreciate  possibility  of  that  threat.  He  noticed  how  long  he  noticed  more  longer  these  strange  MIB  around,  more  inclined  he  desired  bring  his  revenge  down  her  face  and  playfully  been  amused  with  her.  The  Doctor  will  be  for  later.  He  needed  anyways  to  built  that  fucking  paradox  that  box  wasn’t  so  inclined  to  giving  him  right  —  when  there  was  sensation  of  another  observer,  who  seemed  more  neutral,  offering  him  doubts.

❝    It  seems  you  forgot  something,  my  dear,  when  we  last  met.    ❞  He  presented  himself  inside  her  flat  one  day,  enjoying  darkness  around.  He  had  been  searching  her  with  an  strange  obsession  he  rarely  got  otherwise  towards  his  usual  evilness  towards  his  best  enemy.  Surely,  if  before  some  old  object  had  no  consideration  in  the  big  of  schemes,  what  happened  recently  must  have  changed  circumstances  differently.    ❝  Or  maybe  should  you  call  you  my  wife  ?  Aren’t  you  my  wife,  right  ?    ❞  He  mused  amusingly,  playing  with  his  asset  on  his  hands.  As  he  had  been  carried  out  his  intented  plans  in  the  background,  manipulating  circumstances  best  he  could  towards  his  benefits,  settling  himself  an  high  place  inside  the  gouverment  thanks  to  an  void  left  behind  —  he  tragically  growing  with  an  awareness  someone  else  expecting  him  to  act  that  way.  He  didn’t  know  where  came  that  concusion  out  of  tin  air,  but  didn’t  appreciated  it.  She  was  her  first  priority.  She  will  be  his  wife,  into  his  another  body,  when  this  time,  it  won’t  be  a  shared  lie.  Good  if  the  Doctor  was  destroyed  in  the  process,  he  had  another  surprise.  He  would  have  to  do  something  concerning  that  unwelcomed  observer  —  he  didn’t  know  what  awaited  him.

oh that daemon post made me think about the master like what if it’s not dark!yaz teaming up with the master what if it’s light!master teaming up with yaz what if theres two of them

what if he was in a situation like the doctor in 13x5, got to division, found his watch. bc he was definitely in division right? but we havent seen any about that. but he has to have been. spies and agents and children and “impossible to tell” and “yeah”. what if he went to division, found his own watch, is now doing Who Knows What based on what he found in there but hes got good intentions for the doctor.

he tells yaz about his plans and why he has to do what he has to do to the doctor whatever it is hes planning and yaz agrees that with all infromation she has, that does seem like the best course of action. of course he might be lying but then, the doctor also lies. the master tells yaz about time’s prophesy bc why wouldnt he know he probably has his ways and yaz is so Dont Let The Doctor Die that shes willing to do most things

Thirteen and Dark!Thirteen: Fixing up old, run-down or outright broken classic Earth cars. It started when she was small and had to watch whatever her mother had playing on the telly at the time, but since then has transformed into an actual interest of hers. Sometimes, late at night, she can be found hiding away with the telly on and the latest reality show on binge. [ This is true for every other Rose Verse and Rose AU that I’ve got, with the exception of: Fobwatched!Rose Tyler AU: Taking things apart and putting them back together in the wrong order, on purpose. Jackie Tyler: Cheap romance novels that likely should've stayed in the shop. Not even Rose knows about this one but it does explain her slightly skewed opinions on romance, love, and shagging. [ True for all versions of Jackie Tyler that I’ve got. ]

The Master/Missy [Koschei]: Long baths, accompanied by calming music, bubbles, bath soaks and a plethora of complimentary scented candles. They're also quite fond of pedicures and manicures, as well as several other 'mundane' spa treatments.They also very much enjoy the idea of body modifications such as piercings, tattoos, implants, etc.. [ True for all versions of Koschei that I’ve got. ]

Donna Noble: Going to the local hospitals and visiting the Pediatrics unit as well as the Nursery to read books, play games or simply cheer up the lovies. It isn’t so much a guilty pleasure as it is a secret thing that she does when she has free time to do so. [ Doctor!Donna Lives On AU: Theoretical Physics, particularly String Theory. ]

Clara Oswald: The Twilight book and movie series. She's been a fan since the start but refuses to admit it. For anyone who is curious, she's Team Jacob. [ This is true for all versions of Clara that I’ve got, aside from the ones who exist before Twilight was released. For those such Claras that come before Twilight, I generally go with being obsessed with Geoffrey Chaucer, Shakespeare and Poe, respectively. ]

Amelia 'Amy' Pond: Listening to pop music from the 90's, especially British Pop icons, while she's cleaning or taking a shower [ provided Rory isn't around to witness or hear it ]. Mum Verse tag - v: talks with mum or v: mothering river A nice simple verse. My main verse River cannot have children so this verse is for my interactions with OCs (to whom I am very welcome) and also any threads where River discusses having children, is pregnant or has children.

Fobwatched Verse tag - v: fobwatched verse River was as she is in the main!verse, she had gotten out of The Library and for a while The Doctor and she were safe, but then she fell pregnant. The Doctor soon realised that she wouldn’t survive the pregnancy in her current biological standing. They decided that a fobwatch would be the safest outcome. River was meant to be dropped off in Leadworth 2015 and the Doctor would meet her and wake her up, once the pregnancy was over. But something went wrong and she ended up in Victorian England, she doesn’t know where her husband is or who he is, only that he is a good man and will come home soon. She now has a three year old son named Rory and works as a Nanny.

Kovarian’s Verse stockholm syndrome tw tag - v: madame kovarian’s daughter In this verse River did kill the Doctor but she’s not that evil. She just wants to please Madame Kovarian who she has a case of Stockholm Syndrome towards. She is completely dependent on Madame Kovarian and is very defensive if people try to talk against her.

Master’s Verse stockholm syndrome tw, abuse tw tag - v: the year that never was This verse is set in the Year That Never Was, where River is kept as The Master’s prisoner aboard the Valiant. Due to the paradox she sort of lost who she was. River is practically the Master’s pet, she does as he asks when he asks and won’t talk to many other people. She’s been abused by The Master to become this way.

Human Verse tag - v: a human life As the name might suggest River is human in this verse, she doesn’t know the Doctor, she doesn’t know her parents or anything about aliens. She is just an archaeology professor at Oxford University.

Melody Pond Verse tag - v: beloved melody pond This is what would have happened if baby Melody had not been taken by The Silence. She is a normal little girl with Amy and Rory raising her.

Sick Verse tag - v: the doctor’s patient To get out of the Library River was placed in a new body however due to the body being completely new it’s immune system was very weak and soon she found herself unable to go very long without medical help and so she called her Doctor.Now she stays aboard the TARDIS where she is connected to a life support system. She still does archaeological research and writes textbooks instead of going on actual digs. She misses it but knows it’s for the best.

Pond Verse tag - v: melody williams is a superhero This is a very AU verse. Melody didn’t regenerate in New York and turn into Mels, instead she stayed as a very sick little girl looking for her parents and somehow she does finding them in Manhattan.Basically Melody getting the childhood she deserved and Amy and Rory getting to raise her.

SJA Verse tagged - v: sarah jane’s niece Based on this gifset. Knowing where to find Melody the Doctor took her from the Silence, with the help of Jack Harkness and Torchwood, however Melody was still in a lot of danger and so the Doctor felt she was unable to go with Rory and Amy, yet.And so he left her on Sarah Jane’s doorstep with an explanation of what was going on. From then on she stayed with Sarah Jane, Luke and a few years later Skye. She is known as Melody Williams and is known to others to be Sarah Jane’s niece.Amy and Rory are able to visit, and do, as often as they like.

Vault Verse tag - v: stay alive This verse is set in series 10. Instead of Missy in the vault it is River. The Doctor finds a way of saving River and he works out how to do it after reassembling Nardole. He found a way of attaching River’s consciousness and head into the robot that had kept King Hydroflax alive for so long. As it was stated that it was basically built in life support he argued that until he could keep River asleep until a new body had been created.And it worked, almost, River was transferred into the body and it was successful with all memories intact. But she couldn’t sleep, instead she works up periodically and cannot control the robot she has been placed in, that is why she has been placed in the vault. For her own safety, as she has poor health and immune system, and others from the robot.

Sisters Verse (mainly with @madasateacup) tag - v: strength of a sister AU as of Angels Take Manhattan where Amy and Rory didn't get taken back in time and instead continued their life in Leadworth. Soon afterwards they adopted a little girl named Collie. Although originally nervous River soon fell in love with being a big sister. Follows their interactions as Collie grows up.

Doctor Verse tag - v: i am the doctor This AU takes place where 'River' is in the place of the Doctor. She's one of the reincarnations who just decides to call herself River sometimes.

Dark Verse tag - v: dark river As the name might suggest this verse is for a dark version of River. Updated wishlist! Separated into sections for how canon they are. 

1. Things that could take place within his canon timeline a) The Doctor’s downtime with Clara. I want to see how the cards came to be a thing, like did Clara tell him his social skills just aren’t up to scratch, or did he ask for help with people? b) Encountering people while travelling alone. So this could take place in the gaps left in canon; between Death in Heaven and Last Christmas, between Hell Bent and tHoRS, between Darillium and tRoDM, and between tRoDM and the vault arc. c) The 24 years on Darillium d) The impact of the Doctor’s time in the confession dial. It’s not something that was really shown in canon but to survive he would have to get used to not sleeping for more than an hour, eating short meals only when he has to, and being constantly alert. Something behind him, a fly, footsteps – all of those would, after a while, instantly tell him to run. And the constant tapping to keep time. e) The time in the vault with Missy that we only see tiny bits of. There’s 70 years’ worth of content there! f) The Doctor learning guitar and practicing at all hours wherever he is.

2. Canon-divergent things because fuck the canon a) The Doctor Falls, except (one or a combination of these):    i. The Doctor isn’t killed he’s just injured    ii. Bill becomes human again and continues traveling with him    iii. Missy doesn’t die and she returns to stand with the Doctor    iv. The Master doesn’t die and either he or both of them return to stand with the Doctor    v. The Doctor saves either Missy, the Master or both    vi. Idk maybe they’re more of a team? They all want to get out of there right?    vii. Whoever survives go on to travel together b) Instead of trapping Missy in the vault, the Doctor chooses to bring her with him on his travels and tries to help her be good that way c) Basically anything else that you wanna do to fix the canon, just let me know your idea and I’ll probably be open to trying it out unless it’s wildly ooc for the Doctor. d) The blind verse where the monk trilogy doesn’t happen. 

3. AUs that I can’t really pass off as canon-divergent because they’re too different a) The neural block doesn’t just block the Doctor’s memories of Clara, it goes wrong and affects his memory in different ways. He can’t remember how to fly the TARDIS, what he should be doing, who can and can’t be trusted. He remembers people, mostly (other than Clara) and whether they are important to him, but not necessarily how they’re important. He tries to fly the TARDIS but ends up crashing, where he emerges confused and in need of guidance from someone who knows him. This could end up going in any direction depending on who he encounters. This could give some characters an opportunity to start again with him, influence him, or help him regain his memories. b) Fobwatched!AU – similar to series 10, only the Doctor is working at the university as John Smith, with no idea of his real identity. c) My whole dark Doctor AU on @timelordlost d) The verse where the Doctor is the one trapped in the vault by dark Clara and is being kept there for her entertainment. He could be rescued by anyone with the ability to track him down. He believes Missy is on Clara’s side because that’s what he’s been manipulated to believe, though he still calls out for her every day hoping she’ll hear him. This Doctor is angry and hurt so he might initially be hostile.

She looked toward Everett for a long while and studied him. He seemed so ... different since the snap had happened but it was like a bolt of lightening had struck the female. A mixed bag of emotions had came over her. Now knowing he was also the one hobbit in her journeys she was found of. It was him. It was always him. That's when she peppered him with frantic kisses of affection.

She didn't want to pry herself from him but had to get him out of the gurney he was strapped into. "It's a bit complicated. I thought you died -- but I could still feel you around in the universe. I looked for you. I couldn't leave you. I need you. I ---." she couldn't even process her thoughts for some reason, now helping him out of the gurney. She could be Sola around him now, not the Professor. The woman out trying to help people. To teach and learn. She was Solasudordax and she had her best friend back. Yet, she knew he was having an identity crisis of sorts. He has been Everett Ross, the CIA agent for so long and now he remembered who he really was.

She heard a few loud bangs coming from outside, before turning to her friend. "I need your help finding my TARDIS. Theta was supposed to come here, but he's avoiding this universe and I don't know why. Agent Coulson is trying his best to help but he doesn't understand. “I’m not sure how much I believe you.” Rory admits, but it’s not combative like before. More resigned. Maybe someone else would have his memories. But the way that voice in his head spoke, the dreams that he swore were memories… He wasn’t that, was he?

What felt like all of a sudden Dark was much closer to him. “I don’t feel trapped.” He insisted with a wavering voice. Even that was wrong, though. Lately he felt like a caged fucking animal. “I… I love my life. And I love Amy and the life we’ve carved out together, and… And I’m not sure if I want to be the man that’s been using me to get around without notice. I hear him, I’m… That’s not me… That can’t be me.” He said, and he was looking properly at Dark now. A familiar face with a much different personality. Huh. He wondered who else that sounded like. But that other him inside of him was getting aggressively forward. “I don’t want to. He wants me to. He’s me. All of this is over when he’s here, though. That’s kind of the point.” He hisses that last part out, and it comes out of him too easily, like someone else finally speaking up for a minute.

The continually wavering demeanor of the other, the way Rory was losing control, made Dark very proud of himself. That was his schtick, taking pride in tearing down others to their core. Manipulating them. It came so easily to him. Even before he became who he was now.

“Don’t you understand? If you carry on how you are now this quaint human life you’ve created for yourself and Amy won’t matter. How long will it take before you snap at her? Before you ruin all of this?” Dark finally stood close enough to get a properly good look at the other man’s face. He hid the giddiness he was feeling well as he looked into Rory’s eyes. “Setting yourself free, setting him free, would save Amelia from the pain you will inevitably cause her.”  Dark once more pointed to the watch in Rory’s hands. “If  you don’t want to do it for yourself, do it to save her.”

@11thsshadow Rory Williams… Was not having a good time. Before they went back to their capital-R Regular Lives, it wasn’t too bad. Now that he was back out in the real world for a while it was more imperative to keep it under wraps. At the hospital, spending time with his dad, to a degree when he was alone with Amy… It felt important to him to keep it a secret. It felt important to not talk about the watch he’d happened upon that he swore his… Dad gave to him? How frequent his already chronic migraines were becoming, vivid nightmares, strange impulses, erratic emotions… 

He was taking a day to himself for the first time in a long time. Amy was apparently on a girl’s trip, he didn’t have work. Tend to the garden, sit on the couch… It’s why he jumped when he came back inside their house to see the Doctor there. Just. Standing there. And I Rory must have looked so confused. “What the- you can’t just- that’s— I- I didn’t even hear you. What are you doing here? Ah-“ Rory cleared his throat, straightening out, trying to appear less cagey. “Hi?”

3.) Do you have a favorite AU?

Quite a few! I’m a huge sucker for:

Royalty AUs [especially The Broken Crown]Human Doctor AUs [I’m Only Human ; Fobwatched Ninth Doctor and Addicted To You]Vampire or Werewolf AUs [Hungry Like The Wolf ; Vampire Heart]Fae or Faerie realm related AUs [Something In The Wind]Crossover AUs with other fandoms [especially Harry Potter [The Few The Proud The Magical], Supernatural [Angels Among Us], Lucifer [The Devil You Know], S.H.I.E.L.D. [The Space Between] and X-Files [I Want To Believe]].

11.) What’s one character you’ve thought of RPing but haven’t yet?

I’ve always wanted to write for the Twelfth Doctor and the First Doctor, alongside Sarah Jane or possibly Susan- but I’ve tried my hand at each in various fanfiction [not published] and am utterly incapable of doing any of them any justice. I just can’t find their ‘voice’, as it were. 

I’ve also always wanted to start a Brothers Winchester blog [for Sam and Dean from Supernatural], and while I’m pretty good at writing spoken dialogue for them both I’m not nearly as skilled at the internal dialogue or ‘prose’ of the characters, so I’ve just never bothered.

14.) Is there anything character-wise or writing style-wise that you can’t stand?

Not… really?

I’m pretty easy going when it comes to roleplaying. I don’t mind if I get one-line replies in response to my multi-para posts, so long as the one-line is inspirational enough to keep the thread going. I don’t mind if the posts are heavily formatted or not formatted at all. I don’t mind if there’s icons or gifs, or not. I love plotting but I also love 'winging it’ and coming up with things right there in the posts [so long as I’m not the only one coming up with things], organically. I’m not really all that picky when it comes to those sorts of things.

I do however have a few issues when it comes to certain other topics.

For instance, if someone is writing for a specific canon character that isn’t AU in any way, but when you read their post, it doesn’t feel like that character at all. It isn’t their personality, it isn’t the way they would speak or approach a situation. It seems like another character all together. That sort of thing bugs me just a little bit. It’s like reading a Ninth Doctor fanfiction where he speaks and behaves like Ten or Eleven. It just puts me off. Suspension of disbelief is  e v e r y t h i n g  to me.

I also don’t like it when I establish a scene and mood with a starter or an Ask reply and the person who responds completely changes the scene and mood, ignoring what I’ve written entirely in favor of taking it in whatever direction they wish it to go. It confuses me and pretty much cuts off any inspiration I might have had for the thread.

20.) Has your character(s) changed over the time that you have been playing them? How have they changed?

Not as a whole they haven’t, no. The glory of being heavily Multiverse.

My characters remain at a 'default’ setting personality wise for any and all 'new’ interactions [people/characters they haven’t interacted with before, first posts for AUs, etc.]. That being said, they have evolved individually for ongoing, well established threads, AUs, interactions and things of that nature with familiar Muses.

A few examples being:

My Dark!Eleven has slowly evolved in the default Verse [The Eleventh Hour] when it comes to interactions with @fobwatchedcenturion​ ’s Koschei [Master] and Rory. He isn’t the same he was before- he’s slowly become more affectionate, more calm, has less black outs, that sort of thing, but ultimately is still Dark and Disturbed and very, very dangerous to others. These changes are evident in every other interaction thread between the two, even the AU ones [Addicted To You, The Broken Crown, Vampire Heart, etc.]. He retains his darkness and his natural dominance but there is a gentleness to him as well, one meant only for Kosch. My Nine is also slowly evolving to be a little more open and honest [The Doctor’s Keeper: It Isn’t Over Yet] thanks to this wonderful Muse and his interactions with them.

Likewise, my Dark!Eleven has almost entirely changed in the default Verse [The Eleventh Hour] when it comes to interactions with @goldenwolfgoddess​ ’s Post-Journey’s End Rose Tyler. His personality has shifted, integrated, and he is more like the Eleventh Doctor now, nearly back to who he use to be before he went Dark, with a few relapses here and there. He even goes by 'The Doctor’ again, instead of Theta. He’s learning, growing, striving to be a better man, more like the man Rose knew and even better perhaps than he was when they traveled together originally. He’s even willing to step up and attempt to be a father figure, which is something he never would have considered, even before he went Dark- so it’s safe to say that yes, this Rosie has changed him in these interactions together.

My Tenny [Tenth Doctor] has become much more open and honest about his feelings and has let go of much of the fear and cowardice that held him hostage in the default Verse [The Doctor’s Keeper: The Better Half Of Me] when it comes to interactions with @masterfulxrhythm​ ’s Simm!Master. To the extent where he actually proposed. YES, TEN PROPOSING. I know, right? Not only that but he’s expressed interest in Looming a child with this Muse. Ten. Willingly a father. What is life. He still deflects, he still talks nearly non-stop and at times he’s downright insufferable due to pent-up emotions the few times he has refused to go to the Master and simply confide in him [I’m looking at you forced-to-sleep-because-you-threw-a-fit-in-the-library thread], but he’s closer to the man he use to be before he left Gallifrey in the first place. Long, long before the War, back when he still ran through red fields holding his best friend’s hand. This Muse [and their interactions with other Thirteens] has also helped my own Thirteen [The Doctor’s Keeper: My Sanctuary] find her voice, and was the inspiration for me even starting to write for Thirteen in the first place!

Those are only A FEW examples of what I’m talking about, nowhere near all of them but if I mentioned all of them this post would be a LOT longer than it already is [and ultimately it’ll turn into me mentioning every partner I have and thanking them and describing our threads, which would take DAYS to do] LOL. So yes, while my Muses do evolve and change and grow, it only ever happens in on-going interactions and threads with Muses they’re familiar with, where it’s an on-going storyline Verse type of situation. Otherwise, no- they remain as they are by default until interaction begins.
