Something originally meant to be an alibi, & keep to two of them out of trouble, had suddenly become sentimental. Of course, the idea had always been to buy her something, proof of their time away from the castle, but he didn’t think he pick out a ring.

Something simply struck him when he saw the ring in the ‘prized jewelry’ display.

“Good, it suits you most perfectly.”

In a way, this ring almost represented to two of them. The ruby at the center for Slane, & the sapphires along the sides for Miyuu,

“Shall we find something to match? We have all day to look around.”

“Are you shaking from the cold, or from nervousness?” The questioning tone from Slane pierced once silent air.

The magus prince, & his new fiancée were sitting together in a carriage, as it was pulled by horses, the cold white of winter pouring down outside. Where were they headed you ask?

To Camellia. To meet the extended family that Miyuu would be marrying into, & the nation that would be allied with her through her marriage with Slane.

A soft spot he did have for her, though it might not have been obvious to everyone else, & Slane prefer to keep it that way. A secret almost, between the two of them, that the Comic Magus did have a heart in his chest; & it beat only for Miyuu.

This woman did many things to him, it seemed, as Slane never really felt the reins of passion before, but here, he was being... very... very passionate. To have simply returned the peck was one thing, but he had gone through the added trouble of bring her into his lap. His sole finger keeping her head elevated, & the succulent sound of their lips meeting repeatedly filling up the room, only to pull away when the dreadful need for air burned in their lungs.

Slane was never good at comforting. He never knew all the tricks to make a person smile or stop crying, unlike his sister, whose heart & soul went out to others when they were at their lowest. In truth he never felt bothered by other people’s unhappiness.

So why was it that when Miyuu was upset, it bothered him so?

Despite all his intelligent, Slane didn’t have the ability to just say something comforting, & make everything better. He was not his sister.

It was not a decision that she had a choice in. Nor really did he.

But this was ‘for the better’ of both of their nations. Simply & firmly, it was not a decision they could argue, though both of them would surely have their own issues.

He did not want to be a part of a ruling family of a country that was borderline ready to fall apart... yet it also gave rise to much opportunity. He will make due... he has too.

The Ixoran Emperor had pulled out lucky. He originally wanted to seal a marriage for his eldest son, however, given the terrible state of the Empire, it was... difficult. Yet, someone the Prince of Ying’s family had taken interest, & it was not something that could be passed up. And while, Shi certainly wouldn’t be marrying his son to another man, such a relationship would be looked at harshly, instead, he looked to his daughters. Meihui would raise a fuzz about it, as would Fengji... but Hanako, oh the quiet & gentle 2nd Princess.

It was going to be, they would meet & it would be. The 2nd Imperial Princess Hanako, & The Divine Prince of Ying Slane, a prefect couple to seal the ties between Ixora & Camellia, a well-off Kingdom to support the crumbling Empire, prefect.

A silence is in the air. A silence that was unnerving, abnormal almost.

“... You are sure, Slane?”

“It’s not very often I see someone who can rival my own power like this, I am sure. Surely, you see it too.”

They were in an unfamiliar place, a city normally they wouldn’t dare even enter, since they had heard how unlucky of a place it was, but the nature of their agreement with it’s leader lets them come & go as they please. They decided they should at least give the place a glance.

It was a worth while glance, as it seems.

“I didn’t want to say it, but she is something that can’t be ignored. Even more so with what my Noire Knights have been telling me. Too many people are looking at her.”

“We can’t just leave her here, with all these wanna-be magicians walking around. We need to bring her to a safer place.”

“I know what your thinking. Ann won’t be happy you know, especially given that bringing her to Camellia will likely mean bringing along that imbecile as well.”

“It’s not like we have another option.”

“... Fine. Captain Cross, start making preparations to bring Touma Kamijou & his company to Camellia on a ‘undetermined prolonged stay’.”

But the shadow of this boundary pushing woman kept casting a shadow over the words the prince was trying to look over. At first, he ignored her, guessing she’ll take the hint & leave eventually.

But she didn’t, & that arguable bothered Slane more.

Miyuu is just gonna… give Slane a quick peck on the lips. She’s feeling affectionate today and wants Slane kisses.

Normally thin, crimson eyes turn wide in surprise, his attention in what was pervious a piece of paper with important detailed events over the past few days, now given completely to the woman who pecked his cheek. The Wisterian Princess has really managed to learn how to surprise the Camellian Prince over there months together, hasn't she?

Then again, maybe Miyuu wouldn't rightfully be Slane's wife if she didn't find ways to surprise him.

Seeming calm & composed, like always, Slane folded the piece of paper once, placing it in one of his desk drawers & pushed his chair slightly away from said desk, before taking Miyuu by one of her wrists, he gave it a pull as to make her fall into his lap. Free arm reached around her frame to hold her face, tilting her chin up with the end of his finger &...

With Slane's much larger hand hold Miyuu's much tinier one, he had slipped a ring onto her finger. It was strange really, that until this point, the now Wisterian Crown Prince had not giving his princess a marriage ring, he had put one on her finger at their wedding, but it was merely a prop ring the king had made for the ceremony & the ceremony only.

She was not even allowed to keep that ring, & Slane thought it strange she didn't have one. So, he had taken her out to a jewelry shop within Wisteria for this propose.

A sigh left him, making a motion to a near-by chair for the princess to sit in, they did not need her fainting on him now.

“Just relax, everything is being handled.” He’s attempting to be reassuring, though he’s not the best at giving comfort. Marriages are stressful, so it’s not at if he blames her though. “You don’t have anything to worry about, the only thing you need do is change into her dress.”

Also, apparently confirmed Duchess Margaret is scared of Prince Slane.

She looks up at him with this expression & body language & god you can tell she’s ready to go cower in the corner.

There were practically a thousand different things he could have said about this.

Why was she wearing those ungodly heels outside if she couldn’t walk in them? Why would she pick such a long dress that she could step on like she had done? Yes, something as simple as wearing heeled shoes a bit higher then what she’s used to & a long dress so lengthy it left a slight train before her feet, was really all it took for the very skinny princess to trip & sprain her ankle in what was meant to be a simple evening walk in the castle gardens.

And, a sigh left Slane. He wanted to be upset with Miyuu, but he didn’t seem to have it in him to do so.

“Alright, fine. We’ll do this that way then.”

With his words, he soon rolled the sleeves of his magus robes back, & simply... plucked his wife off of the ground. One hand holding her back, & the other scooping her up from under her legs, he picked her up in an effortless princess carry & started off back towards the castle.
