Vision turned the moment he heard a voice near to him. "I- Am I? Thank you," he said graciously, albeit awkwardly, taking it as a compliment, but then he stared innocently for a moment. "So are you," he blurted out before he could think better of it. She was absolutely beautiful, but beyond that, he could not identify her species, and that intrigued him. "N-not that I-... It was not my intention to be rude, I only meant that... I have never seen anyone who looked quite like you before."
Since she seemed interested, though, Vision sought to explain a little about what he was. "I am a synthezoid. A synthetic lifeform. I was created as I am now, instead of being naturally born of another and growing to adulthood." He smiled and cut himself off there, lest he begin to ramble. "May I ask what you are?" he asked with immense curiosity.

I still have reservations about posting fragments of my original novels / stories anywhere. But mayhaps I'm wrong? Maybe I should start posting them, if I want to interest more people in my characters and their adventures? I don't know...
Okay, I'll try...
WIP: Black Wings Genre: science-fiction Tag line: Humans’ efforts to terraform a planet are thwarted when some decide to save intelligent indigenous life. POV characters: Kenaed, Zoe Irene, Mattan Nuada, Siesell Keeva Snippet from: Chapter One, Zoe Irene's PoV
#.
Zo’rene and Kenaed had parted ways shortly after The Flood. She had known he’d survived, spotted him in passing a couple of times over the years. But they hadn’t spoken, he hadn’t kept in touch with any of their old friends.
They had found each other again less than four sun-a-rounds ago. One of those old friends – Zo’rene’s friend still – had celebrated his birthday and Kenaed happened to be nearby. Gam’ir had recognized him and dragged him to their circle and the next thing Zo’rene knew, she and Kenaed had snuck out into the shadows between the modulars to kiss like they were starved and make love before their brains caught up. That fire that used to burn between them ten years ago – it was still blazing. That one thing, at least, was exactly the same as before.
Zo’rene reached for his hand and smiled like she was twenty-something and wanted to seize the world. He smiled back, eyes flicking to her lips, then her breasts and back up to her eyes. She burst out laughing.
“Let’s go inside!”
She opened the door to the unassuming modular and was hit in the face with the noise, the beat of drums and people’s voices and laughter. Dense atmosphere filled with heavy stench of herbs, strong alcohol and hot sweat. Kenaed’s hand in hers was clammy, but she didn’t let it slip out of hers. She led him into the middle of the tightly packed floor and turned to wrap her arms around his neck, as his hands rested on her waist.
The melody played on strings and pipes, flowed through Zo’rene’s body and cursed through her veins to the rhythm of the drums, setting her blood aflame. When chanting voices joined the instruments, shivers ran through her spine from her groin up through her shoulders and to the top of her head.
It was not like she hadn’t been to the circles for ten years, not at all. She was young, had friends who shared her enthusiasm for that kind of entertainment. She would come with men too, various men, but none of them was quite like Kenaed.
The mere feel of his skin under her fingertips made her heart beat faster.
In the circles, people gathered to sing, play instruments or drink, smoke herbs, and listen to the music. Others danced, and that had been Zo’rene’s and Kenaed's favorite thing. She used to love the way he moved, so confident in his physique, finding joy in feeling alive. They used to have so much in common; similar sense of humor, same goals in life – at least the ones they’d had ten years ago. They used to be a perfect couple.
Now – he was different. The way he looked at her, that focus. It felt like she was the only person in the whole world. It could be flattering, but it was mildly disturbing instead. Zo’rene closed her eyes for a moment. She wanted this to work. This not-yet-but-maybe-one-day relationship. He was different, alright, but she was not that twenty-something girl either.
She focused on his palms inching lower and lower down her hips to finally touch her buttocks. He pulled her flush against his body. They moved as one, with the rhythm. They could still be perfect.
He leaned to her ear and said something she didn’t hear because of the noise. Pulled away a little, brow furrowed, and he mouthed, “Having fun?” She read his lips, smiled wide in response and nodded. “Ready?” he asked, and before she could answer, or ask – ready for what? he pushed her a little away and spun her around like he used to. She stumbled, caught by surprise, but landed safely back in his arms, giggling like a little girl. Felt his laughter rumble in his chest.
Okay, so he wasn’t that wickedly defiant young man she had been madly in love with. He hadn’t forgotten how to enjoy life though, his eyes sparkled and small wrinkles she hadn’t known from before, appeared around them. Truth be told, Zo’rene’s thirst for adventure had also gone down a notch or five. They were older, and that was okay. They could still get to know each other as they were now and maybe fall in love once more. They could build something new.

"Of course." Mantis smiled and nodded when Nuada asked if he could bring some of the bark children to the party. "The more the merrier," she said sincerely. The more creatures that were present at the party, the more they would speak with each other. Mantis didn't necessarily want to be the center of attention – after all, the party had been Rocket's idea, but if she could help people talk to one another, then she would be satisfied. Mantis firmly believed that if everyone tried to understand each other, the galaxy would be a kinder place.
Which was why she was glad to learn Nuada and his sister were speaking with each other. Mantis had lost almost all of her siblings at the hands of Ego, so it brought her great joy to know that the Elven twins were trying to rebuild their relationship.
She felt that Nuada seemed to stiffen slightly in her embrace, and she wondered why that was. Perhaps others didn't touch him kindly often, or perhaps he simply didn't expect that from her. Mantis did not know. Since he wasn't pulling away, she kept gently rubbing his back; his long hair was soft against her fingertips, a sensation she welcomed.
When he slowly hugged her back, Mantis closed her eyes, allowing herself to relax against him. When he said he was glad to see her safe and happy, her eyes opened, and she blinked. She, too, had assumed that Nuada didn't like her very much. Mantis knew he saw her as a friend, she knew he trusted her with the seed... but she didn't think he would miss her the way the Guardians would. She closed her eyes once again and sighed with serene affection.
Her antennae perked up when her powers allowed her to feel that he saw her as... more than a friend? Oh, he sees me as family! How sweet! Mantis smiled at the notion; she found herself not wanting to let him go.
But she did. Slowly, Mantis pulled away from the hug. "Very well, I will see you at the party, then," she stated with a smile and a nod, and turned to leave.
Going Knowhere || closed with thenexusofsouls
She was home. Mantis was finally home again. Not because Knowhere was her home as a place, but because home was where the Guardians were.
It had been two years since Mantis chose to bid farewell to the Guardians, leaving to find her own purpose while Quill left to return to Earth. The Celestial siblings had stopped running from their past, and it was freeing, as scary as the choice had been. Mantis had taken the three Abilisks with her… and the green seed Nuada gave her, of course.
Moments after landing, Mantis was greeted by some of the residents that lived on Knowhere. She rarely wanted to draw attention to herself, but she knew the three giant Abilisks would attract a few looks. Drax was all over her. He had picked her up at least three times to hug her, tightly squeezing Mantis until her eyes bulged from her skull. Part of the reason why Mantis had been at peace leaving his side was because now there were other children, children who needed him, after he spent years protecting Mantis since she reminded him of his daughter.
“Okay, Drax, enough! I want to say hello to everyone else,” she exclaimed, patting his back until he finally put her down.
Nebula, Kraglin and Adam hugged her affectionately, but soon enough Groot pushed them aside so he could hug Mantis, as well as Rocket. Cosmo licked Mantis’ face and Mantis giggled, patting the dog’s head. Cosmo was still the best girl in the galaxy.
When Mantis asked where Quill was, Drax told her he was still on Earth, but he wrote to the Guardians regularly to let them know he was okay. They were family, all of them, and they would always be.
“I say we throw a party tonight,” Rocket suggested. “You’re back, bug. We've gotta celebrate. What do ya think?”
“That sounds good! Thank you, Rocket,” Mantis said.
“Abilisks!” someone cried nearby, and collective screaming followed.
After reassuring everyone that the Abilisks were with her, lest panic took over all of Knowhere, Mantis asked the Guardians if they knew where Prince Nuada was. She had left without saying goodbye to anyone but the Guardians, and she wondered if Nuada would be angry with her. Rocket and Groot offered to look after her Abilisks while Mantis looked for the Elven Prince.
Mantis walked with more self-assurance than before. She no longer held her hands in front of her body, letting her arms swing at her sides instead. She was more poised now, secure in herself yet more mellow. Confident – but not unfriendly. As if her two years of complete independence had allowed her to grow more than her several centuries with Ego. She wandered over to the spot where Nuada was, following the direction Rocket had told her, and a few bark children appeared to say hello. Mantis smiled and waved at them. She remembered taking them to Knowhere shortly after bringing Nuada's people, as well as Mr. Wink. She never wanted Nuada to choose either his people or his friends; he could have both. She tilted her head when she spotted Nuada, and offered a polite smile.
"Hello," she said, trying not to make things awkward. "Good to see you," she added. "Okay, I know I left without saying goodbye, but... I already said goodbye to my friends, and I realized if I stayed a little longer to say goodbye to everyone, I would not leave. I would just think about how much I would miss everyone and stay. The seed is fine, by the way! I have been speaking to it regularly and making sure it knew it was a good seed. My Abilisks would keep it safe when I couldn't, so... yeah."

Now, Nuada remembers the first time he felt that pull for the first time towards you. It happened the night he broke into the human organization where they kept his sister from him, he silently was killing every guard he met on his way, and you were assigned there. Your back was to him as you chatted with your colleague, and he took the chance of your distraction to strike, he sprinted towards both of you, your friend noticed him too late and the only thing he could manage was to open his mouth to warn you, but before he could do it his throat was cut, you were pushed forcefully against the wall and just as he turned around with his sword lifted to slice your throat as well he froze when his golden eyes fill on yours. You looked at him with wide eyes with fear, but his eyes were widened by shock, The hand which held the sword stuck in the air. He could not kill you, for some bizarre reason he could not kill you, it felt wrong, a fatal mistake. He finally moved when he saw you reaching out for your communication device, turning his blade upside down Nuada used the butt of his sword to knock you out unconscious. He stood there over your body starting at down at you, a strange ache started to form inside of him for hurting. Forcing the feeling away, he continued moving to his sister's location, ignoring what had happened with you, but it was difficult for whenever he wasn't preoccupied with other thoughts, an image of you immediately popped into his mind with the question if you were alright. It frustrated him greatly and he promised himself that when he takes over that he will make sure to kill you himself or at least see your dead body, which would be dead by his golden army.
That plan failed of course because here he was locked up in the humans' jail after his defeat against the demon they call Hellboy. Aside from his sister visiting him, he tried to spend his time practicing martial arts and then meditating, which proved to be challenging because for a while you kept popping in his thoughts until finally it was over and he got his peace forgetting about your existence completely. However, those forgotten thoughts came crashing down when he got his freedom by agreeing to help the human against those who threaten the balance between the two worlds, he saw you passing them by when his sister was giving him a tour around the building, you were busy reading papers and didn't notice him, but he sure as Hell noticed you, and from the twinkle familiarity in his sister's eyes as she saw you. Just before she could lift her hand and call for you Nuada brought her hand down and forced her forward and be away from you as fast as possible. Nuala was confused by his action.
"Why did you do that?" She asked.
"I don't want to meet any of your human friends." He answered coolly.
It wasn't a lie but it wasn't the true answer either, which left Nuala feelings suspicious before shrugging it off and continuing the tour. Nuada knew that meeting you was inevitable but he still hoped not to have to meet you face to face. But here you were assigned to be the one who teaches him the rules in the training room and to his surprise and dare he say relief, you didn't show fear as most humans do. You just kept a nonchalant façade.
"… And of course, when you do train use nonlethal weapons, so we can avoid accidents." You said as you pointed to the training equipment.
"Don't try to give me orders human." He threatened but you looked unfazed, you turned to him and looked him in the eyes as you replied.
"Or what? You will knock me out again?" You asked calmly. "Because if you took a good look around you can see that we are being watched."
And you told the truth, you were being watched not only by a couple of humans who were there to train but also by the security cameras. Nuada growled down at you but you only smirked in return.
He tried so bad not to smirk bad.
He didn't understand the sudden fascination he felt towards this single human, whom later he learned her name was (Y/n), but one thing she knew is that it was bad and he needed to stop it. Remembering how time away from her helped him forget her he did his best to avoid (Y/n) and that's by locking himself in his new room and have his food brought by his sister, and if he needed company he would seek out his sister later at night when he is sure you didn't have a night shift in it, but even that was disturbed by the presence of the creature they call Abraham. The one being who was able to steal away his sister from his side. He loved seeing his sister happy, he really does, but he hated that her sore of happiness came from someone other than himself.
"I do not understand why him." Said Nuada, when he and Nuala were alone. "Centuries ago, suitors from different clans and even different races came forward asking for your hand in marriage, and even though I despised them all, most of them was a better choice than him."
"You still don't know?" Asked Nuala with an amused smile.
"Know of what?" He asked.
"Abraham is my fated mate." She answered with a shy smile.
Nuada was shocked and left to be alone for the rest of the evening and a few more days. Nuala tried reaching him but he didn't answer, so she left him to his thoughts, believing that he was upset with her. However, Nuada was not, it was true that he did not approve of her mate but Abraham was nonetheless. Humans would call it a myth but having a "Fated Mate" was very much true, their senses were just far weaker than the supernatural beings senses, so they can never feel it when they meet "The One". They will never know how life will suddenly feel empty without them, how they will suddenly feel they have a purpose, how they will do anything to be by them. They won't be able to live without their touch, to hear her sweet laughter echo in the air, to see the shine of her bright eyes as she succeeded in something, the sound of her soft voice in his head, how his every thought… will be… occupied… by only… Her…
Nuada shoots up at that last thought, his eyes widened in realization.
"No…No no no no no no " He kept muttering to himself as he based around his room.
It cannot be possible, his mate can never be a human. For centuries he dreamed of a life with a soul that was meant to him and he for them, but now, here he was with the possibility of his other half being a human. Nuada would rather live the rest of his life alone than being mated to a low-life human. In fact, an idea of a human mate sounds so absurd that Nuada was determined to prove it wrong.
He decided to ignore her and not by leaving the same room she enters, but by ignoring her presence as if she was never there. He went to the training room at a time he knew (Y/n) would be there, as long as he doesn't think or even glance at her as he did his own training. It was difficult at first, his neck ached with every time he almost turned around to see (Y/n) at the sound of her voice but as the string warrior he is, he resisted the temptation to even glance in her direction. It was going to be a success, he could have walked out of the room, training finished and mind free from the human, but one pull, one simple feeling of pull urged him to glance at you from over his shoulder, and that's when he saw you on the floor staring with wide eyes at your opponent who was holding what looked like a glaive over his head ready to strike her. the next few moments were a blur but when Nuada realized his surrounding he found himself point the glaive at (Y/n)'s opponent who was now on the ground eyes staring at the edge of the blade in terror, and Nuada was feeling… fury.
"You Imbecile!" He shouted. "The rules clearly stated to not use real weapons for a reason, if any harm came to (Y/n) I would-"
He stopped the flow of his words when felt the gentlest touch on his shoulder, he turned and saw that it was a very worried (Y/n), who tried her best to put on a brave face, whether her worry was for what almost had happened to her a few moments ago or because he was holding a weapon so close to a humans neck, he didn’t know.
"It's alright Nuada, he was just being irresponsible, but he learned his listen now." She turned to look at the fallen human. "Didn't you?"
The human man only nodded profusely. Nuada felt (Y/n)'s soft tug on his arm, silently pleading him to spare him, and slowly he did pull away, then threw the weapon to the ground and hurriedly left the room ignoring the calls of his name, which gave a small ache in his heart for ignoring it. That night Nuada stayed in his room with his face buried in his hands trying to comprehend that he was going to draw blood and risk his freedom for (Y/n)'s sake. He doesn't even feel regret towards his action, rather a great relief to know that she is safe thanks to him. Nuada placed his left hand over his right arm, specifically over the spot that (Y/n)'s hand was on to stop him. His brows furrowed in discomfort when he remembered the look on her face, and his ears are still ringing from her voice calling him, he wanted nothing more than to go to her room to not only make sure she was safe but to apologize for ignoring her. With a groan of anger, Nuada retired to his bed and forced himself to sleep, ignoring the little voice in the back of his head that screamed at him to find their mate immediately. But the elven prince only closed his eyes and drifted into sleep hoping to escape the (H/c) headed girl only to find her invading his dreams, with sweet smiles and laughs and she gazed at him lovingly.
---
"What do you mean she left?" Asked Nuada in a low threatening tone to the frightened man.
He had come to the training room again to try and ignoring (Y/n) presence successfully this time, but deep down it was truly to see her again. However, when she was an hour late Nuada approaches the same man that he almost killed for almost harming his mate, and asked him of her whereabouts and when will she be around, only to be told that she left later that same night. She was taking a vacation for who knows how long and to where. If Nuada didn't remember the cameras that are watching him he would have probably slide the human's throat in frustration, he simply just left the room, having no longer the motivation to train.
"Because (Y/n) isn't there for you to impress."
Nuada just shook his head at the small voice, which had been taunting him for a long while now. He doesn't need to impress her or prove to her anything.
"Yes, you need to prove to her that you are a capable mate whom she deserves."
Nuada let out a loud groan that made everyone around him flinch away in fear of his sudden foul mood, escaping being the source of his relief, which means a trip to the infirmary. That's it. He needed to escape those damned thoughts that had been plaguing his mind, and meditation cannot help him anymore, he needs to shed blood, to fight. So he quickly changed his directions to reach the human in charge and demand to be sent on a mission even if it was as simple as a patrol. He needed to escape everything and anything that reminded him of (Y/n).
---
You couldn't wipe away the grin from your face as you casually walked through the hallways while keeping an eye open for one special elf prince. Your colleagues had texts you multiple times over your time away and informed you of how Nuada kept asking about your whereabouts, how long will you take away, and who were you with. Your friends thought his actions were weird, but for you, it was a sign that your attempts to befriend him are working so well. He had indeed killed your colleagues in front of you, massacred many, tried to raise an ancient army to erase humanity from existence and rule overall. However, you couldn't ignore the reasoning behind it, he lost everything and he only did what he thought was right. Besides all that Nuala had told you many stories about him, how truly good and kind he was, how the war between the two worlds of humans and supernatural had ruined his mind, you could tell that there were many other reasons for Nuada's hatred towards humans but you didn't push any further with questions and just settled with what you know now. And so, when Nuada was finally free you decided to try and befriend him or at least make him feel welcomed, which proved difficult because he would snare at any human who tried getting too close to him and avoiding you like the plague. You believed that he was avoiding for the reason that his intimidation acts didn't work on you and since he can't harm you physically he decided to escape your presence.
Until that incident in the training room.
Your training partner was getting annoyed with the many times you kicked his butt in hand in hand combat and he thought he could at least try and intimidate you to put you in line and what better way to do so than use a freaking glaive against you. You could easily dodge his clumsy strike, but you accidentally tripped on your back, and since you had no time to move you just closed your eyes shut and waited for the pain. However, it never came, and when you opened your eyes to see the reason you were met with the back of the Elf prince who was not only yelling at the stupid man but also pointing the weapon to his neck ready to slaughter him. That made the flashback of when he slaughtered the man in front of you start and you felt as if someone dumped cold water down your back. Despite your obvious fear, you moved forward to stop him, which thankfully worked. When he left you chased after him to at least thank him for saving you but before you could go too far another agent pulled you back and told you to follow him to Manning's office to discuss what had happened.
You are a great agent, one of the very best, but because of your gender Manning still saw you as a vulnerable thing, and that's why he offered you a fully paid vacation to calm your nerves. The man can be great at times, but most of the time he acts in a way that makes you wanna punch him in the face. However, it is rare to get a vacation in such a long time and a paid one too, so you didn't let the chance slip away from your hands. Then a few days later you were spammed with messages of how Nuada is asking about you and being more agitated than usual after your absence. You didn't want to lift your hopes up but you couldn't help the feeling of excitement you felt as you shortened your vacation to only one week just so you can hurry back and try again to befriend Nuada. The others either thought you mad out outcasted you because of it, because not only are you trying to befriend a prisoner but also the being that killed their friends and partners. You tried to explain to them that everyone made mistakes in life even severe ones and deserve a second chance, but they didn't listen. You understood their reasoning and forgave those who gave you dirty looks.
Turning to another hallway and stopped in your tracks when you saw in the distant Nuada conversating with his sister who seemed to be very worried, however, most of your attention was on him, you had to take deep breaths to calm your beating heart. You didn't know if it was because of your teen attraction for bad boys returning, or because you reached a level of desperation that you would look any male even the murderous Elf in a different light, but what you know is deep down inside you, you could feel something the urged you to approach Nuada, you could have easily ignored it, but you always trusted your gut and now here you were.
You took one last deep breath before walking forward to the royal siblings.
"Hey, Nuala!" You called with a smile, and you could swear that from the corner of your eye you saw Nuada tense at your voice.
"(Y/n)!" Nuala greeted back. "When did you return?"
"I came back yesterday." You answered before stealing a glance at the prince who was avoiding your gaze but when your eyes met your cheeks flushed lightly at the sight of his golden eyes, but held yourself together. "Hello there."
You tried to greet him but he only groaned before again ignoring you, your smile flattened, you didn't feel hurt just sudden nervousness because you truly believed that he would at least return the greeting. Nuala however, mistook your small frown as sadness and she turned to him.
"Brother, don't be rude and return the greeting." She lectured. "It is the least you could do."
"Why should I?" He retorted. "She is just a simple human."
"A simple human who you ask about?" You couldn't help but ask.
You caught his eyes slightly widen, which confirmed that what you have been told was true. Nuala turned to you a look full of bewilderment on her face.
"He asked for you?" She asked, You nodded.
"Yes, well, at least that's what I have been told." You answered truthfully. You heard him scuff pulling both your and Nuala's attention towards him.
"And what if I have?" He asked rhetorically. "Don't get over your head human."
"It's alright if you did ask." You assured, hoping that maybe he was just, dare you say, shy at being caught. "I mean after what happened last time I thought-"
"You thought wrong." He interrupted. "The reason for my action was to prevent myself from being accused of something I wasn't the cause of. I did not do it for the likes of you."
"Oh…" That was all you managed to say.
You could feel a sting from his words, and it must have shown because Nuala rushed in front of Nuada to stop him.
"Brother, what you said was uncalled for." She lectured. "(Y/n) is a very nice human, she only wants to befriend you, like how she did with me and everyone else."
"Befriend me?" He asked with a mocking grin. "She is only trying to make herself feel better by acting nice, that's how all humans act, I have seen it many times beforehand."
He turned to you his golden eyes staring directly into your own.
"You are a leach." He said pushing his sister away to take a few steps closer. "You slither into those who are marked outcast by everyone else, and act as if you were "Different" from everyone else, that you "Cared", but all you truly care about is to walk around with said "New friend" as you silently say how you are better and superior to everyone else only because you did something that no one else dared to do."
You stared at him with wide eyes at his accusations, and that seemed to only confirm his words to him.
"I know what the other humans say when you befriended Hellboy, Abraham, and now my own sister." He sneered. "I will not be added to your pathetic list of small victories."
"I…I don’t have…" You tried to say but he cut you off again.
"Let's say you did not have a list, and you only did all that out of the Kindness of your heart. " He said the last part mockingly. "What made you believe that I would ever accept a pathetic human such as yourself a friend?... A human who can't even protect herself, I am amazed at how did you get a job here when you almost died only by my hands but also by a colleague of yours, who knows how many times you were lucky enough to escape your doom by being protected or have another human take the fall for you. You can't even protect how on earth can you protect humankind."
You said nothing.
"If the Red demon wasn't among you, you would have been dead by now, or a slave serving as a footstool for me." He stomped his foot at the last part making you let out a gasp of surprise and take a cautious step backward.
Nuada stood his ground waiting for you to run away in fear of him like any other human would, But you didn't. You slowly lifted your head up to finally meet his eyes again and he could feel his heartache at the Hurtful look you had in your eyes as you gave him a weak smile. He could feel his body slightly shaking with regret, his instinct told him to fall on his feet and as for your forgiveness as he did everything to restore your beautiful smile once again.
"I'm sorry, Prince Nuada." You said in such a polite tone, losing your friendly act, treating him like the royalty he was.
"Please don't…" He tried to say but couldn't.
"I did not mean to offend you in any way."
"I was the one who let his pride take over!"
"But please now that my actions towards you were only genuine."
"I know!.. You are the sweetest creature on earth, who wants good for all!"
"I will respect your wants and needs, so from now on I will stop approaching you."
"NO!...No please don’t!"
"I will be leaving now."
You said before giving but him and Nuala a polite nod and turning on your heels to leave. He almost shot his hand forward to stop you from walking away, but Nuala got between the two of you with a very angry look on her face.
"How could you say these things to her?" Asked Nuala in a hissed tone, never did Nuada see her so angry with him, disappointed yes, but not angry and he would have been concerned if he wasn’t already feel punished enough.
Nuada was staring at you and you continued to walk away, his sister kept lecturing but he didn’t her hear, her voice a muffled background noise as he saw you turn a corner and disappear from sight making the ache greater, he was pulled out of his train of thoughts when he realized that his sister was quite…..and that his hand is being held. By instinct Nuada flinched backward away from Nuala, already realizing what had happened. His eyes were wide with horror, while his sister’s eyes were wide with realization. His shock then became anger.
“Brother, You-“
“I told you many times to NEVER read my thoughts!” He screamed angrily at her making her flinch.
Nuada let out an angry growl before turning around and leaving to anywhere he can, to escape not only (Y/n) but also his own sister. He could hear Nuala trying to run after while repeatedly saying sorry and asking him to stop walking away but he didn’t and when he saw how she won’t stop chasing after him he started running from her knowing very well she won’t be able to catch up to him. After taking a few turns and knowing that his sister won't be able to catch up to him Nuada slowed down and made his way to Manning's office to request time out in the open green area to meditate because Gods know he needs it to calm his nerves and collect his thoughts. Because not only did he chase you away, for good this time, but also because now his sister knows of what is he feeling and what is happening in his head… Deep down in his head… that part which he still refuses to listen to.
Even though he knows he is right by now.

Nuada was in the moving vehicle with Abraham and Hellboy, heading to the next mission in some small town.
"They said that it was only adult humans who went missing one or two at first, but then the numbers started to grow that even children were nowhere to be found." Said Abraham.
"Anything in common with them?" Asked Hellboy.
"The only thing is that they all disappeared near the forests." He answered, looking up from the file. "They went in but never came out."
Hellboy cursed under his breath at the mention of children's possible death, ever since the breath of his own dear twins the topic of children's death on missions became a sensitive topic. Nuada however didn't care for all that, the only thing that plagued his mind was the human who was ahead of them in another vehicle with other human agents who were sent alongside them, this is the closest he had gotten to her since their last encounter.
The prince believed that it would be for the best that things remain the way they are, she would continue with her life, find someone to share it with, start a family to grow old with, and then… And then he would die of old age, feeling happy and continent, while he would continue living to pay for his crimes and then devote himself to his people, he knew the next step would be marrying an elf to produce a hire to take his place in the future, but such thought made his stomach turn in disgust, that it was wrong. Then maybe he should make his future niece or nephew the hire to the throne after him because as much as he doesn't like it, his sister will have children of her own even if it was with the bluefish, and if he did decide to grow old and alone they will take his place.
"We are here." A human called from the front pulling Nuada out of his thoughts, that when he realized that the vehicle they were in had stopped a long while ago. He followed Hlleboy and Abraham out.
The human was already setting things up and preparing to venture into the forest. As he scanned the area he caught you rechecking your magazines and filling those who were not full with more bullets. He couldn’t help the small smile he had at the determination you showed after finishing your preparation, unknown to him Abraham had noticed it and he had a look of pity for the Elf Prince.
“Alright, we will split into teams and because we don’t want any incidents Nuada and Red will be separated each one will be put in a human group.” Explained the human who was put in charge of this mission.
Nuada immediately joined a human group that (Y/n) wasn’t a part of and red joined another. Abraham stayed back to give instructions in case what they are dealing with was new. As the two groups ventured into the forest Nuada stayed on high alert listening to anything or anyone. After almost an hour of just walking deep into the wood, a sudden movement made everyone tense and turn to pint their weapons in the direction of the sound. However, all the human agents let their guns down when a beautiful human woman with long black hair and pale beaten skin run towards them, she looked tired and terribly scared, when she saw them she started to cry in relief.
"Finally some help!" she cried out. Nuada who was the only one who still had his weapon up brought his silverlance close to the woman's throat but was pushed away by the other humans who circled the woman to add her.
"What are you doing you psycho!" Said the man. "This is a human being we should take her back to get treatment."
"No!" Cried the woman as she slightly pulled away from the men. "My friends are still in danger, we should go and save them!"
"Of course Ma'am, just tell us where they are." Said the man but she still shook her head.
"I don't remember the directions, but I can walk you there."
She pulled away completely from the group of men to go in the same direction she came from when Nuada was sure that no one would stop him this time he charged forward and used his silverlance to decapitate the woman's head. As her limp body and head fell to the ground one of the men who were in shock charged at him to grab him by his collar.
"You killed a human woman!" He screamed. "I will make sure that you will rot in jail for a long-"
"Uhh…Simon." One of them called.
"What!?" Said the human named Simon angrily.
His anger quickly melted away and he pulled away from Nuada when he saw the woman's body twitch and change form into that of a big black horse whose mouth and part of his head looked as if it was in the middle of decomposing for the skeleton was showing. That image however was gone quickly as the body melted into a disgusting black goo. The human men looked petrified by the sites, Nuada was the only one who came forward to inspect the goo.
"W...What in the hell was that!?" Asked one of the men quietly as to not drow any more of those monsters towards them.
"That thing was as you human call it a Kelpie." Explained Nuada. "A malicious creature who live near the water, they can shapeshift into beautiful women or horses to lure their victims so they can drown them and devour their dead corpse."
The men looked at each other in fear before they instinctively took a fighting position and pointed their guns around them in case another Kelpie showed up. Nuada just sighed at their action and refrained from giving any harsh comments about their idiocy. He scanned the area and he could hear, see, and sense nothing, there wasn't any other Kelpie around. He brought a hand to activate the earpiece he was given to contact everyone else.
"I know what we are up against." He informed.
"What is it?" Asked Hellboy.
"It's a Kelpie." He answered. "A shape-shifting being who can take the form of beautiful women or horse."
"What!?" Exclaimed Hellboy in the speaker making Nuada want to pull the device away but he stopped when he heard the next thing.
"(Y/n)!.. Get away from that thing!" Her scream can be heard as well as the beast who let out a victorious roar. "The bastard got (Y/n)!"
Never did Nuada move so fast. He ran through the forest looking around frantically for any sign of you or the beast. A few gunshots were fired from the distance and Nuada ran towards it. He dodged the trees and leaped over the rocks. His mind was flashing images of your dead mutilated body floating above the waters after it had been devoured by the Kelpie, taunting him on how he could have avoided such tragedy by staying by your side and keeping you safe and sound away from all trouble.
"You killed our mate"
Sid the voice repeatedly torturing him further, memories of the last encounter with your came back reminding him that if (Y/n) was truly dead then his last moment with her was him hurting her feelings and being a bastard and that's would probably her last memory of him, being an Entitled Bastard. When Nuada finally reached them he saw how a group of humans were shooting two Kelpies but their bullets were in vain as they regenerated easily, however, when Hellboy shot his special bullets the Kelpies died instantly. That all did not matter to him, Nuada looked around and he saw you kneeling on the ground, you were grasping your right hand which was bleeding, and to either side of you was a human who were aiding you, but most importantly you were still alive. Nuada felt great relief when he saw no major injuries on you but it was short-lived as he saw other Kelpies coming near you, probably smelled your blood, He charged forward and swiftly decapitated one then stabbed the other straight on its forehead, both letting out one last screech before dissolving into goo. He turned to you and kneeled beside you. Looking at you closer he could see your arms, legs, and face are filled with small cuts that were bleeding, but your right hand, however, was bleeding heavily.
"What happened?" He asked as he dropped his weapon down to examine your wound.
"What are you doing here?" You asked in bewilderment.
"To save you." He answered honestly ignoring his pride after the thought of losing you, His answer made your eyes wide with shock. You opened your mouth to say something but were cut off when you heard Hellboy's gunfire a couple of times.
The Kelpies were growing in numbers determined to kill all of them and you knew that Red's special bullets will run out. You Turned to Nuada.
"Forget me." You said pulling your injured hand away from his hold. "Go help Red."
Nuada turned to the group of humans and demon who are struggling to keep the creatures away, being fueled by anger at the thought of one of them daring to kill his dear mate, Nuada lifted his weapon again and charged at them. He stabbed one of them in the middle causing it to screech in pain before dying. He turned to the humans who were still shooting with their guns.
"Your weapons are useless." He said before stabbing another Kelpie. "These creatures only die from silver and Holy weapons, so if you truly want to help then take those who have been injured back and return with at least silver bullets."
The men looked at him with astonishment before nodding and doing as he ordered, however, a few of them remained insisting on being able to help. Nuada looked over his shoulder one last time, catching you being taken away to safety made him feel great peace despite his current situation. Nuada turned around with the goal of inhalation this nest of abominations that threatened his beloved.
---
When you opened your eyes from what felt like a long sleep, which for some reason you still felt a bit tired after, you winced at the brightness of the room and the pure white ceiling didn't make it any better. That when you realized you weren't at home. You blinked a couple of times and saw that you were in the infirmary surrounded by the familiar deep blue curtains that separated you from neighboring beds and gave you privacy. You tried to lift yourself up but silently grimaced at the shock of pain that came from your right hand forcing you to lay back down. You slowly lifted your right hand up to examine it and saw that it was wrapped heavily but neatly with bandages, that's when you remembered what happened and how did you get injured in the first place, which the thought of it embarrassed you, but then you remembered Nuada. The way he was concerned with your injuries made you almost think that he was the one feeling the pain ten times more.
"You are awake." A familiar calm voice said pulling you from your train of thoughts.
You didn't need to lift your head for he quickly seated himself at the empty chair that was to your left. His worried golden eyes searched your face and body for what you assumed is pain. Out would be lying if you didn't say that you were touched by his concern for you. You again tried to lift yourself up but his hand gently pressed your shoulder down.
"Please don't move." Urged Nuada. "You healer said that you might need more rest."
"No, I said that she can leave whenever she wakes up just to make sure she doesn't overdo it." Said the doctor from his desk that was nearby, If looks could kill the doctor would have been dead on her chair from the way Nuada glared at her unseen direction.
"I'm fine, Your majesty." When those words lift your mouth Nuada gave you a pained look that you never thought he was able to make. He lowered his head
"Please, Don't address in such a formal way." He almost begged. "call me by my name, as you used to."
"I thought you hated it." You said and you could see his body tense at your words before he relaxed a bit.
"I apologize for what I have said."
You were so shocked at what he said you you shot up from your bed to at least set straight to face him properly. Of course your sudden movment made him flinch.
"Alright, who are you?... and what did you do to prince grumpy?" You said skeptically, Nuada blinked a couple of times before he let out a small chuckle.
"I assure you, my dear" He answered.
The room was quiet for a while both of you not knowing what to do or say. You were happy that is true, him treating you so friendly was very good but what made it awkward for you is that it was … so suddne. What changed?
"How did you injure your hand?" Nuada asked breaking the silence. You looked down at your bandaged hand. "You lost consiosness from bloodloss on our way back to the headqurtars."
"It's kind of embarrassing." You said with a weary grin.
"I would never laugh at you." He said in such a serious, which made him even odder to you.
"Well.." You started. "We were searching around for the reason of people going missing when we saw a beautiful white horse grassing, it looked so harmless and gentle. I don't know why, but I had the sudden urge to brush its coat, and just before my hand touched it Red told me to stay away."
"But it was too late." Sdi Nuada and you nodded.
"my hand was stuck as if it was some kind of super glue or something. The next thing I knew what that I was being dragged away by the beast who was running away from Hellboy. I tried to pull away but it only brought me close, and when I saw that its skin was about to cover my hand I did the one sensible thing I could think of." You shrugged as you looked down at your right hand. "And it was to shoot it off of it, and it worked but with a price. I feel stupid to have let my guard down like that."
"You should feel that way." Said Nuada making you look to him. "The Kelpie has Hypnotic powers that draw in their prays, even if you were not human you would still fall for it."
"Wow, you know so much about them, considering you were the only one who knew how to kill them." You said in amazement.
"I have, unfortunately, encountered those veil creatures before." He confessed.
"Really?" You asked and he nodded.
"When I and Nuala were kids one of them almost took her away if not for the guard who was set to watch us she wouldn't have been here now, neither would I." He continued. "After that, I spent ages of my life to train my mind to never fall for their or any other creature hypnosis again."
"Amazing, so you are trained body and mind." You winked at him trying to tease him. "the full package for a very lucky girl."
Nuada stared at her for a long while rethinking his choise in telling you the truth. The moment he stepped foot back here he had prepared a thorough explanation of what mates were, followed by a speech of his love and devotion to (Y/n). How he would never let his pride take the best of him, that he would be the ever-loving mate she desires and the strong mate she deserves. But considering their first few encounters together, Nuada feared that suddenly doing so would scare his (Y/n) away, for in the end she is human so she can't feel the bound yet… But it can grow. He decided to give it time, to strengthen their bond by starting all over again, it will take time, that is true but Nuada was prepared to work hard to win (Y/n)'s love and affection the way humans do. For now, he will be the friend she deserves.
"On the contrary my dear." He said with a smile. "I will be the one who is lucky to have her."

A/N: Request from @holacherrycola90. Finally! Here’s my Prince Nuada Imagine! Enjoy! ♥
Words: 2346 Warnings: angst, mentions of blood and corpses
He had come out of nowhere, seemingly. No, this wasn’t right. He had come bursting through the window. Burglary and assaults were common this way in your humble town, not however, when you were based on the sixteenth floor. There was blood, screams, debris and repulsion; a convulsion of pain, horror and violence, all senses mixing to a dizzying thick blanket that threatened to steal away your consciousness.
They were all dead. He had killed them. Nausea clawed at your guts and throat when you realised the gravity of what it was like to have witnessed murder, to have witnessed someone die right in front of your eyes.
The blood you were covered in was not yours. It was theirs. And he was still here, treading over the mangled corpses like he would overcome a rocky path.
He had white hair, so white it almost blinded you, his skin as pale as the moonlight. And his eyes… his eyes were red… orange… of a colour defying the beauty of a sunset. He was alien. Never before had you seen something so beautiful and horrifying at the very same time.
He could not possibly have spared you on purpose. You had been buried under two dead bodies during his killing spree, unable to and too terrified to sit up and flee. Now, you cowered there, on the ground in midst a pool of blood, wishing you had called in sick and stayed home. Was this the end? Would you be murdered by a man seemingly not of this world? You were by no means superstitious but you had long accepted that humans could not be the only intelligent species in this universe. If only the proof of this mindset of yours had come peacefully instead of violently.
His clothes were strange too, you realised when you dared another timid glare. Scars and fine lines defined his sharp face. He was wearing battle armour. Battle armour from another world, so it appeared.
“It is not here?”
His accent was otherworldly. Like he spoke a strange language long forgotten by mankind. You could not see the creature he was speaking to until it stepped into the light—an already broken light bulb already emitting sparks; a death trap for the puddle right underneath its weak beam.
Holding back a scream when you took in the creature’s appearance, you resisted, with all your willpower, to flinch back, yet you could not stop the subtle movement of your right hand subconsciously grabbing the shoulder of a dead body next to you.
You held your breath when the strange warrior spun around with a start, facing your trembling form on the ground and pointing his large spear directly at your panic-stricken face.
“Where is it?” It was a question. Directed at you. Your heart skipped a beat. “The crown piece of Bethmora. It was here.”
Any moment now he would dash forward and pierce your throat with the pointy tip of the spear—you would join the corpses surrounding you, bleeding to death and choking on your own blood within a matter of seconds. Your lower lip was shaking when you opened your mouth.
The crown piece. It had been taken away for an auction only yesterday morning. Your supervisor had approved of it after your examination. It was of unspeakable value, made of pure gold with an ancient crafting technique. It would sell for millions.
“It’s not here,” you whispered, unable to raise your voice out of fear of imminent death. “Not anymore. It was taken yesterday.” The warrior snarled. You forced your eyes shut. Darkness was more welcome than your murderer glaring at you through cold, blood-orange eyes as he killed you. But the fateful blow never came.
He was staring at you when you risked another peek up at him, your body still shaking like dry autumn leaves in the wind.
“Where is it?”
Swallowing thickly, you stuttered the name of the location, unable to form another functioning sentence. Not until he stepped closer.
“Don’t kill me… please…”
He crouched down and tilted his head. What was it that stopped him from chopping your head off like he had with all the other meagre and now massacred humans around you? Was it your trembling lips? Would they be soft if he ran his thumb over them? Would he feel the salty tears on his finger and smear them all over your mouth as he did?
You radiated innocence like a blooming flower. “Mr Wink,” he started, never taking his blood-orange gaze off of you as his smooth voice echoed over the murder scene. “Locate the crown piece.” The creature nodded—out of obedience, companionship or respect, you could not tell—and disappeared in the shadows. You did not dare let out a relieved breath though.
“I am Prince Nuada Silverlance.” He introduced himself then. “I am here to claim what is rightfully mine and I will not rest until it is in my possession.”
You dreaded asking what it was he was looking for. Treasure? Heirs? Political power?
“The annihilation of the human race.” He said, without so much as blinking. Your blood ran cold. So he would kill you. “The crown pieces, once re-matched, will allow me to awaken the Golden Army… and destroy human kind once and for all.”
“W-What… what are you?”
“I am an Elf.”
Your lips parted. Elves had looked so different in your fairy tales and stories from when you were a child. Cheerful and happy, not malicious and cruel.
“B-but why?” You regretted the words as soon as they escaped your lips. Nuada narrowed his eerie eyes at you.
“Why? My race was slaughtered by your people. We have been in hiding ever since, like pets in a cage. Your kind deserves death.” Your eyes widened, your mind unwilling to process his words.
“So you will kill me now?” You chirped. Nuada had noticed your tears before you had. They were streaming down your cheeks in a seemingly endless waterfall, worsening your sight. Yet, his response surprised you.
“No. I will not kill you.”
-
Nuada spent two weeks in hiding. The humans had learned about the incident and the murders, of course, and the police had been searching for the culprit ever since. You had read it in a newspaper a businessman must have abandoned at the station.
You were still alive, living, breathing. The question had been burning on your tongue ever since. Why? Why hadn’t he killed you? And most importantly… why had he kept you with him?
You were still afraid of him, of course—if only a little bit. Just enough to avoid asking him why he had not ended your life. He knew you had been awake the night he had taken you, on the edge of consciousness for your mind had soon shut down to not become a victim of madness. When he had told you—vowed—to keep you safe from his conquering.
You remembered it so well you could still feel his cool fingertips lingering on your cheeks and even your lips. He had watched you sleep for most of the cold night, wondering intently why he had kept you alive. Was it so he would have a reminder of what he would have accomplished soon, if he kept the last remaining human to himself? Was it so, if he so desired, he could mix his race with yours to humiliate humanity even further or was it to keep a trophy, a pet?
Blinking, you rose from the makeshift bed. It was no less than a collection of old pillows and a blanket on a handful of cardboard. There was no luxury underground. The place Nuada had chosen for his preparations was ghastly, yet it was perfect for his dark schemes.
He was training, practicing. His spear, so you learned, could shrink to an arm-sized knife if he wanted to. Gracefully, he whirled around half on the ground, half in the air, fighting invisible enemies. His bare body—pale und inhuman like his face—was covered in battle scars. There was a part of you that longed to trace every single one of them with your fingertips.
Prince Nuada was beauty. Not in the conventional meaning of the word and not in the way magazines would rave about make-up and models. Nuada was beautiful in his very own way. He was… fascinating. It scared you how much he enchanted you despite his racist nature, his wish to kill your kind because of humanity’s own cruelty towards his people. No one was just the victim here.
“It is almost time.” He said without turning around to face you. The sound of metal scratching echoed through the dark and moist underground station as he shrunk his spear back to a handy knife. Time for what? You thought. The ultimate destruction of this planet?
“Did you sleep well?”
“Uh… yes. It was a little cold.” You replied timidly.
“I can ask Mr Wink to obtain another blanket for you.” Finally, he spun around, his warm eyes boring into yours. “But it will not be much longer now. I am taking you to my home where you will be safe from the Golden Army.”
“W-where… where is your home?”
“Somewhere underneath New York City, approximately six miles underground.” Six miles. No wonder he found comfort and peace in being down here. But the thought of spending even more time in the dark, away from light and the outside world made you both anxious and nauseous.
“No… Nuada, I can’t… you can’t expect me to live under the Earth. Let me return to—“
“No. As soon as I give the order, the Army will slaughter mankind like my father should have ordered them to a long time ago. They will make no exceptions and spare you like I did.”
“What if I don’t want them to spare me? What if I don’t want to live like this?”
“I vowed to keep you safe, is that not enough?” He spat, sheathing his knife away.
“But why? Why did you do this? You keep me here, away from my life, claiming you are protecting me. Nuada… I am grateful you spared me… but you can’t keep me locked up in here with you forever.”
“Not forever,” he retorted quickly. “Once the last crown piece is mine, I will rise in this place as its new king. You will be by my side, safe.”
“You mean after you’ve extinguished my race?” You chirped. No, no tears. You had been crying so often lately. And you were worried Nuada would grow tired of your tears. “What is my life worth if I spend it in solitude?”
“You will not be alone. I will care for you.”
“Nuada. Don’t. I beg you.”
He snorted. “The humans must pay for what they did to us.”
“I am human too!”
“You are an innocent.”
“So are billions of others! Billions! Mothers and fathers and children and elders who don’t even know your race exists and who didn’t make the decision to harm you in any way!” You shrieked, blinking frantically to scare away the tears.
“You are testing my patience. There is always a price to pay. That is the burden of ruling.”
“I don’t think that’s how kings should act.”
“Silence now!”
“You don’t get to silence me! What is the point of all of this, Nuada? My begging tires you it seems but what would you do if an elf threatened to wipe out your entire race? Life as you know it? Friends and family?!”
“It is no less than what my people had to endure, (Y/N).” You shivered when he spoke your name. It was always special for he did not do it often. And he was calm—eerily calm. After you had lashed out at him like this, you should have worried for your life. Strangely though… you didn’t. Not even when he backed you against a destroyed pillar, his face only inches from yours—close enough to study every single unique line on his white face.
“I should abandon you,” he muttered, more to himself than to you. “What is it about you? You are only human.” If the situation hadn’t been so tense, you would have joked with him—flirted with him even, for you had definitely heard better compliments. In a twisted way, you were flattered by the way he treated you, wanting to keep you from any harm as if you were a princess of a faraway realm. But you were not. You were you, a young woman building a career in archaeology and antique trade.
“You are so fragile,” he continued hoarsely. “I cannot let them harm you.”
“Why? Nuada, why?” Your voice was but a mere whisper. You could feel his hot and moist breath on your lips. But you already knew the answer. He had feelings for you, had been growing them since he had laid his eyes on you in between puddles of blood and dead bodies, terrified and alone. Like a white flower they were blooming in his heart, mocking his motives and what he had in store for humanity.
A barely audible gasp escaped you when his cold lips brushed against yours lightly, like the gentle touch of a butterfly’s wings. Perhaps you had become his conscious all those days back upon your first encounter. Perhaps you had become his very own way of living with the horrible deed he was about to do. However, there was also a glimmer of hope. There was a reason your heart had pounded like a steam hammer upon his tender touch on your cheek; a reason for why his proximity did not repulse but excite you.
Before you could stop yourself, you brought your palms to his bare chest, feeling his hard muscles and those unique scars against your skin, allowing him, no, inviting him to kiss you properly. There was still hope he would spare humanity, you were sure of it—for you.

***
Nuada offered the Queen his hand, and Sansa took it without hesitation.
It pleased him immensely how much she trusted him. He’d kept her safe when others had failed on doing the same, and he would’ve done more if she’d asked him to.
The only reason he hadn’t killed a lot more people for her was because she wouldn’t allow it. If it were up to him and his blade, she’d be the Queen of Westeros.
He pulled her to his chest. “Are you cold?”
“Not as much as I thought I’d be.” She rested her head on his chest. “You look so dashing today.”
“I am a prince.” He reminded her.
“So you keep telling me. I’ve seen no proof so far.” She teased.
He tilted her head so she’d look at him. “Would you like a crown from my people as well?”
“I don’t need another one.” She snorted. “I’m happy where I am.”
Nuada rested his forehead against hers. “That’s all I want for you.”

shadowy-dumbo-octopus said: Idk if this is a request or not, but just. Imagine. Nuada said that that Forest God was the last of his kind. Say that y/n somehow finds another bean like that. So now he's not the last of his kind! And they might rebuild the species! Not all is lost! So as y/n and Nuada watch them stomp away into some giant woods, he kinda looks at her like hey, thank you. You've helped save a part of a dying world. And as he looks at her he thinks you know what, if the forest god can find love, why not me?
“Where did you find them?”
“South America.” You cradled the golden-brown seed pods in your hand, feeling the slight movements against the skin of your palms. “I knew I had to find someplace they’d be safe.”
Nuada nodded slowly, closing your hand around the pods carefully.
“I don’t know if there’s a place like that anymore.”
“Maybe not.” You looked at him sadly “But they’ve been trap in there for so long, who knows when the next time they can be free will be? Maybe it’d be better for them to be free and hidden, than trapped and safe.”
Nuada considered this.
Wasn’t he the one who exiled himself for freedom and honor, rather than hole himself underground with his own people to survive.
Surviving wasn’t living.
“Maybe...” he sighed, “Maybe I know I place for them.”
It was a long journey, a month of moving while hidden under the cover of night. Mostly walking, though sometimes hiding in train cars, and once stowing away in a boat. You guarded the seeds with your life, hidden in a soft cloth sack under your clothes and around your neck to keep them warm.
At first, Nuada kept his distance from you, out of respect; but as you travel further north and the weather grew cold, you found yourselves sleeping closer together, sharing the two blankets.
The trip ended when you found yourself in the middle of a grand forest, surrounded by towering pines.
“Do you think they’ll like it here?” You whispered, afraid to disturb the peace.
“Well, we’ve been traveling for thirty days without stop, so they’d better.” Nuada sighed, clearing a spot on the ground before stepping away. “Are you ready?”
You nodded and tenderly unraveled the beans from their parcel. They were thousands of years old, and yet for years, you had almost considered them your children. But, now it was time to let go.
You placed them side by side and stepped back as Nuada poured a generous amount of water over the pods.
The change was almost instantaneous and before you could even think, the pods had gone from a few simple inches to over 50 ft tall. The connection was instinctual and Nuada took your arm and pulled you back slowly.
“Come.” He whispered. “We’ve done all we can.”
You paused a moment, reluctant to leave them alone. But you reminded yourself that you must not underestimate them, they had millennia on you.
You distanced yourselves from the creatures and stopped in a secluded meadow to plan your next steps.
“So, where to now? Back to the city?” You laid back into the grass, “I suppose I’d have to go back to normal life, right? and you...”
You eyed and blushed when you realized he’d been staring at you.
“Nuada.” You nudged him, “Are you listening.”
The prince blinked then shook himself, looking away. “Perhaps...it would be wise to stay here for a little while.”
“What?”
“Spring is coming.” He swallowed. “Maybe we should remain here for a time, make sure they settle well. Then we’ll make a plan.”
“But....what about every-”
“Do you want to go back?”
You paused, you hadn’t considered not going back an option until now. You rolled on yourself to look at him, “No.” You confessed, “No, I don’t.”
“Then don’t” Nuada rolled over to face you. “I’d take care of you, teach you what you need to know.”
You thought about this for a moment and nodded slowly. “Okay.”
Nuada smiled slightly and moved closer to you, slipping his hand down to brush yours. “We’ll set up a camp here tonight.

LAYER ONE : the outside
NAME : Nuada. EYE COLOR : Yellow, almost molten gold. HAIR STYLE / COLOR : Nuada’s hair is long, falling past his shoulders, thick but straight. HEIGHT : 6′9′’. CLOTHING STYLE : Nuada dresses almost exclusively in traditional, handwoven elven garb. Linen undergarments such ad drawers and tunic shirts, will wear woolen fabrics when traveling in colder climates despite being immune to extreme temperatures his clothing is not and often reflects his environment and as such wears linen or lightweight cotton fabrics in higher climates. His clothing often carries the Bethmoora royal sigil of the Hearth tree. During his exile, Nuada often wears black and red, the colours typically associated with the war, suggesting both mourning as well as violence. Nuada only ever wore the Bethmoora traditional colours of whites and golds for royal events. BEST PHYSICAL FEATURE : Nuada considers his bone structure to be his most striking feature, his high cheekbones and sharp angles provide him with a somewhat intimidating and ‘skull-like’ appearance that he feels adds to his appearance however in the opinion of his brethren his features are too sharp, Bethmoora preferring softer and smoother facial structures and therefore they prefer his eyes. Unlike other Bethmoora, Nuada’s golden eyes are mesmerizing, the intensity of Nuada’s eyes are also captivating to those caught within their glare.
LAYER TWO : the inside
FEARS : Nuada fears the loss of his people. He wakes often from nightmares of being the last of his kind, of watching as the Fae fade into dust leaving only him to walk the path utterly alone. GUILTY PLEASURE : Grapes. Nuada cannot pass up grapes and will sometimes go out of his way to purchase them, his favourite are seedless black grapes but also won’t turn down red globe grapes. It’s a guilty pleasure because bunches of grapes will never endure long when in Nuada’s presence, he will eat all of them in one sitting without hesitation. BIGGEST PET PEEVE : The ignorance and selfishness of humans, the complete disregard for things or creatures that are deemed lesser than. He cannot stand when another is willfully ignorant of the suffering of others and despises those whom attempt to bully or intimidate the weak. AMBITIONS FOR THE FUTURE : Create a world where Fae can live in peace, safe and protected from the insatiable hunger of mankind, where they can thrive above ground and return to the lands of their birthright.
LAYER THREE : thoughts
FIRST THOUGHTS UPON WAKING UP : Nuala. Their connection to one another is always strongest when they sleep and they can sometimes even share dreams. WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MOST : The suffering of his people. Nuada spends the majority of his time trying to find ways to ease the pain and loss of his people, he tries to find alternate ways to protect them, to find ways that they can eat and live without bringing them harm and will spend most of his day helping the Fae that he interacts with with their problems, whether they be minor or not. WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT BEFORE BED : He will usually think about what he has done that day, his successes and his losses, determining what he has done wrong or what he could do to do better the next day. WHAT YOUR BEST QUALITY IS : Loyal. Nuada is loyal to his people to a fault, he cares deeply for them and would do whatever he had to in order to see them thrive and live. This quality as become somewhat twisted over time, with Nuada willing to sacrifice the few to save the many.
LAYER FOUR : what’s better ?
SINGLE OR GROUP DATES : Single. TO BE LOVED OR RESPECTED : Respected. BEAUTY OR BRAINS : Brains. DOGS OR CATS : Both.
LAYER FIVE : do you . . .
LIE : No. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF : Yes. BELIEVE IN LOVE : Yes. WANT SOMEONE : Yes.
LAYER SIX : ever been . . .
BEEN ON STAGE : No. DONE DRUGS : Yes. CHANGED WHO YOU WERE TO FIT IN : No. Nuada has been fortunate that he has never been forced to fit into a mold that he did not want, he fought for himself, for those around him, to do what they wished and to follow their own passions even if they were not the same as his own.
LAYER SEVEN : favourites
FAVORITE COLOR : Forest green. FAVORITE ANIMAL : He does not have a favourite. FAVORITE MOVIE : Not a movie, but a stage play performed by the East-mountain Trolls depicting the tragedy of their god, Truloc, who sacrificed himself in order to preserve their peoples last remaining Warinluth, or Seeds of Life and who was reborn as the Guiding star. FAVORITE GAME : Wisp tag. A game played often with four players. Thirty narrow pillars are elected and the player must balance upon the pillars while attempting to catch a wisp. Each pillar has a different symbol painted on the surface which tells the player what ‘trick’ they must perform before bounding to their next pillar. It is an extremely difficult game and was often practiced by Bethmoora warriors to condition their balance and their agility.
LAYER EIGHT : age
DAY YOUR NEXT BIRTHDAY WILL BE : March 21st. HOW OLD WILL YOU BE : Unknown. AGE YOU LOST YOUR VIRGINITY : 301. DOES AGE MATTER : Yes. Nuada has lived for an extremely long time and while it is unlikely that he will find someone with the same life experience as himself, he would rather find someone who has reached their species’ equivalent of middle age.
LAYER NINE : in a person
BEST PERSONALITY : Strong personalities. Nuada is attracted to those who know who and what they are and stand by themselves while simultaneously being open to new experiences and knowledge. He likes someone who works towards the betterment of themselves, those who work to make life or the world better and values those who stand up for what they believe in but whom are willing to keep an open mind to other ideas. BEST EYE COLOR : Brown or green, they are colours which remind him of the earth and therefore are the shades he finds most attractive. BEST HAIR COLOR : Nuada is partial, again, to earthy tones like browns or reds. BEST THING TO DO WITH A PARTNER : If Nuada absolutely had to choose something however, he would be torn between either sparring, dedicating some time to honing their physical capabilities together as well as learning about one another through combat or finding a nice quiet spot on a sunny day and reading. Separately or to each other.
LAYER TEN : finish the sentence
I LOVE : “ wishfully. ” I FEEL : “ too much. ” I HIDE : “ my doubts. ” I MISS : “ the way things were before.” I WISH : “ for my people to not only survive, but to live. ”

So @cinlat and @dimigex talked me into a month long prompt list a few months ago that got pushed back to May cause school and life suck. They chose dialogue prompts with a bonus word to include (that I often ignored).
Prompt: “It’ll only hurt a little, I think…” (Dance) Characters: Bridae, Zaria and Nuada Techtmar and Ari Drellik Story: Sithy Bunch Word Count: 1367 A/N: Nuada and the twins are Tuahtal and Ma’at’s children, Ari is her son with Talos who is every bit a part of the family as any of them. Bonus points if you can tell which movie was an inspiration for this.
Eleven-year-old Zaria Techtmar paused at the end of the hallway to peak around the corner. Hugging a freezing cold bowl of ice to her chest, she scanned the connecting corridor for any sign of an adult that would want to know what they were doing. The Knights didn't bother them much, as long as they weren't being attacked, they were safe enough for the guard's satisfaction. It was the family that was the problem. Uncle Pierce might not ask what they were up to or might not stop them if they answered honestly. He was kind of cool like that. Almost anyone else would put a stop to their plans and this was one of those times where it was better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Once she saw that the coast was clear she looked over her shoulder and nodded at her twin Bridae. Together they hurried around the corner and down the hall to the royal family's private apartment. Once inside they repeated the process two more times before finally reaching their bedroom.
Zaria set the bowl of ice down on her desk next to their other supplies: candles they had snuck out of their parent's bedroom, a lighter Bridae had nicked out of Uncle Andronikos' jacket, and a needle from Uncle Mal's infirmary. Bridae deposited her bowl of cut geldan sun apples pilfered during their kitchen raid next to the ice and grinned.
"That's everything!" She declared, turning to eye Zaria. "You ready? You're first."
"Who says I am going first?" Zaria stepped back from the table, eyeing their supplies warily. "Why not you?"
"Because you're the oldest remember?"
Zaria groaned at the reminder. Usually she liked to make sure her sister couldn't forget that she was older by a whole whopping 3 minutes but this time she wasn’t sure she wanted to be first.
Though, going second would mean actually preforming the act first... Zaria wasn't sure which was worse.
While she was debating about which was the lesser evil, Bridae had started playing with the lighter after lighting the candle. Both girls had always loved fire, but she was by far more enthralled by flames than Zaria. The slightly older twin was far more drawn to explosives and the rush it was to see something explode and know she had caused it.
Watching Bridae playing with the flame, playing a game of chance of whether she was moving her fingers fast enough to avoid being burned, Zaria had an idea.
"Rock, flimsi, scissors. Winner gets to wield the needle."
Bridae looked up from the fire and grinned impishly at her. "You know I always win rock, flimsi, scissors."
"Keep telling yourself that," Zaria said, holding her hand out in front of her. Bridae mimicked her gesture.
Together they pumped their fists while they chanted "rock, flimsi, scissors!" On the third word Bridae flatted her hand to make flimsi as Zaria kept her hand fisted tight as rock.
Clapping her hand on top of her sister's fist, Bridae let out a cheer. "Told ya! I always win!"
"Yeah, we both know you cheat." Zaria muttered, stomping over to the ice bowl and fishing out a cube. She pressed it to the back of her earlobe and shivered at the chill. "How bad do ya think this is gunna be?"
Bridae shrugged as she held the needle over the flame. “It’ll only hurt a little, I think…” She pulled the needle out of the flame and blew on it, "now pass me an apple and sit down."
Nodding, Zaria grabbed the biggest slice of apple in the bowl and sat down on the edge of one of the two desks in their room. Bridae moved to stand next to her, needle and apple in each hand. "Ready?"
"Yeah, on three?"
"On three."
Like the rock, paper, flimsi chant they counted in harmony. "One, two, three."
On the count Zaria pulled the ice away from her ear, Bridae replaced it with the apple and stabbed the needle through her earlobe.
Zaria bit down hard on her lip to keep from crying out as her ear started to bleed.
Bridae's eyes widened as her blood dripped down her hand. "Are you okay?"
"I think so..." Zaria said, her voice trembling slightly. "Is it bleeding a lot?”
"More than we thought it would." Carefully Bridae pulled the needle out of the apple and her ear and held her hands up to show her the blood.
Zaria grabbed a shirt off the floor and pressed it against her ear to soak up the blood. The cloth was white and immediately started to turn pink. After a moment she pulled it away and tilted her head toward her sister. "Is it still bleeding?"
Bridae was just moving into check when their door slid open. Both girls swung around to look at the door without thinking about trying to hide the evidence.
"Girls, mum says its-" Ari's words died on his lips as he took in the scene, frozen just in the doorway.
"What the hell?" Nuada snarled, pushing his brother out of the way to stalk into the room and grab Zaria to examine the damage. "What were you two doing?"
The twins exchanged a glance and their brothers knew them well enough to know it meant they weren't planning on talking. Ari moved from the door to get a closer look at his sister's ear. "You better tell us, before one of the parents finds out. And why is it always Zaria covered in blood?"
Bridae mumbled an answer that neither could remember before Nuada poked her in the shoulder to make her repeat herself.
"It looked easy in the movie and mum said we were too young for earrings."
The boys stared at them for a moment while they tried to process that explanation. Finally, Ari spoke.
"Let me get this straight. Mum said you couldn't get your ears pierced and your solution was to stab your sister in the ear?"
"Well it sounds stupid when you say it like that," Zaria muttered while Nuada tried to clean her ear with another item of clothing he found on their floor.
"No, it sounds stupid because it is," he said as he wiped the blood off her neck. Realizing it was a lost cause until her ear stopped bleeding and that he needed proper supplies Nuara sighed and took her by the arm. "C'mon let's get you patched up and then you two can tell mum about your grand idea."
Both twins protested as they were herded out of the room. Ari knew Bridae well enough to know that if he didn't take her along with Zaria to the medbay they'd have to hunt her down later.
"It could be worse," Ari said trying to offer some comfort. "We could make you go tell your dad what you did to your sister."
Zaria stopped and turned to look at him, her expression shocked as what color was in her cheeks drained.
Bridae gave him an identical look. "You wouldn't."
Tuathal Techtmar, former Emperor's Wrath of the Sith Empire, Commander of the Eternal Alliance and current Emperor of Zakuul was far more protective of his daughters than his sons. That wasn't to say he would let any harm come to either boy, just that he fretted over the twins when one was hurt or sick. He claimed it was because the boys had the Force to protect them, especially during their training sessions while he wiped the floor with them, but Ari suspected it was because he worried about their budding interest in fire, explosives and far too many of Uncle Andronikos' stories from his pirate days.
"It's your choice," Nuada said firmly, taking advantage of his position as the oldest of their generation to use what little authority that gave him with his siblings. "You come clean to mum or I'll call dad myself."
Bridae glared at him, obviously planning retribution before spitting out her concession. "Fine, but fix Zaria's ear first, she's bleeding all over her favorite shirt."
Nuada grinned triumphantly, turning back around to continue toward the medbay. "That's what I thought you'd say sis."

Internal grace of Healer’s knowledge could not help but fester beneath the skin as the sight of blood reaches the eye, curiosity bleeding free before the mind takes the time to think. Maybe it was prying to ask a stranger for his life tale of encounters, being raised by a strong healer seemed to rub off.
Tucking red strands behind a pointed and freckle spotted ear, Ilthilien takes silent steps forward to the shirtless elf, an elf of a different kind. “Allow my assistance, for you cannot reach down your back I am sure. I cannot do such a thing.” With a soft smile bleeding across his lips, the little Lord studied the pale flesh before him. “You house many scars, though I can assure one is not left by this particular injury. If you allow me to help, that is.”
Ilthilien himself suffered many encounters that had left his flesh torn, scarred, though with his shame kept them covered.
[╰ ♔ ╮] Very few hands had ever been permitted to touch the prince, since he was young he had detested such gentle things for he had been risen and bred for war; a Kings son, a warrior for his people. Though those times had long passed, such teachings had not left the mind, body nor soul of the elf. “If you wish-” There was a blank tone to his voice; eyes more focused upon sharpening the blade in his hand though indeed, the welcome was there. Nuada was taken as cold-hearted much of the time - though his people knew and understood his pain, his agitation; he wished them only to be safe and yet wars and poaching from ages old had torn many of his kind from the living. “The scarring itself is not a problem. It is the blood loss.” Indeed, his kind took far longer to clot than most. So delicate despite their absolute strength. “Would you care to introduce yourself before you press hands unto my skin?”

THE OPPORTUNIST // Tyler Young. Unaligned human, graduate student. Born in 1995. Living at Avalon Bowery, Apt. 01D.
“I got to get me a game plan, got to shake you to the ground. Just give me what I know is mine. It isn't much I'm asking, if you want the truth. Here's to the future for the dreams of youth: I want it all and I want it now.” —Queen, I Want It All.
KNOWN TRAITS // Enterprising, impetuous, lively, determined, magnetic.
Getting your due from a young age. No lost invitations, no unreturned calls. Seeing what the world shook out for people like you and forcing it to give you better. Beating people at their own games. Playing the stock market before you could buy a cigarette. Speaking business language and body language. Wanting a car even though you can’t drive it. Knowing it’s only a matter of time before the world’s at your feet. Taking your friend along for the ride.
History
⇢ Trigger warnings: gambling addiction mentions.
The most any parents can hope for is that their children lead a better life than they did, seeking that elusive, ephemeral promise of the American Dream. Tyler comes from such dreams, both those pursued and deferred. He was an only child born to two working parents; his mother had her college degree while his father didn’t and both needed full-time jobs to afford a middle class life in New York City. Tyler was raised in the Bronx, one of the forgotten boroughs, though marked for its hardships and its culture. Never content with being looked over, Tyler at first found attention in middle school by picking fights—but when he got to high school, everything changed. His school participated in the Stock Market Game, which held an allure for Tyler, as well as a focus for his quick mind. Tyler was noticed for his efforts and his teacher took the class for a field trip to the Financial District, where they got to see the trading floor from a safe distance. From the moment he saw the Wall Street execs, he knew that was the slice of life that he wanted. The American Dream hadn’t given him nor his family any hand-outs; he knew if he wanted his pursuit of happiness, he was going to have to force life to give it to him. That was precisely what Tyler aimed to do. He got the marks and did the extracurriculars that landed him an NYU scholarship.
In high school, Tyler wasn’t entirely above reproach, however; he ran a small poker game on the side, just for friends and friends of friends. He continued this in college, picking up a little but more attention than he wanted. When strangers started asking him for an in, he knew he had to lay low, so Tyler diverted his attentions to virtual forums; he played online poker and obsessed over trading crypto-currencies, believing that was the only solid way to make a buck in stocks any more. While he never had trouble with drugs or alcoholism, Tyler’s keen interest in wealth acquisition bordered on an addiction. He never let it affect his grades, but his social life and appearance did suffer. Meeting Benjamin Dalton during class was what actually reconnected him to life outside of a screen. He also grew closer to his older cousin, Jason Young, who was living in Manhattan. Jason was into some weird fantasy shit, shit Tyler didn’t understand, but he was grateful for family all the same. Jason tried to get him to join something called Clann Nuada, saying it promised a shortcut to all the riches Tyler ever dreamed of—but Tyler hesitated on going to a meeting, as tempted as he was. He has conflicted feelings about that now, ever since Jason went missing months ago. If he had joined, could he have kept Jason safe? Or did he dodge a bullet?
Occupation
Full time graduate student: business.
As of fall semester 2017, Tyler is a graduate student at NYU Stern School of Business going for his MBA. Tyler graduated NYU undergrad in the spring of 2017 with a degree in Business. Benji Dalton, his best friend, is also in an NYU graduate program for law. Benji’s father was so proud that he called in a connection to help land them a nice apartment complex as roommates; Tyler helps pay rent out of his stock portfolio as he focuses on his studies.
Connections
Benji: Tyler is very close to Benji, closer perhaps than he was to Jason. Sometimes the nature of the friendship seems confusing, like there’s something more under the surface, but other than that, they share everything with each other. Tyler has recently told Benji about something called Clann Nuada, though he doesn’t know details.
Nickel: Nickel is just Nick Dalton to Tyler; he is Benji’s big brother and always knows the best parties to go to or people to hang out with. Whenever Tyler mentions checking out Oakenfold for a night out, though, Nick is quick to discourage it. Tyler assumes this is because Nick knows about his history with virtual gambling.
Isabella: Isabella is Jason’s ex-girlfriend; they dated for three years and it was assumed they would get married, but they broke it off a few months before Jason went missing. Tyler knows her better than an acquaintance, but isn’t sure what she is to him any more—if anything—or how she’s handling the disappearance.
PLAYLIST 1. Young Volcanoes // 2. Walk on Water // 3. I Want it All
Tyler is portrayed by Keiynan Lonsdale. The faceclaim is NEGOTIABLE. Tyler is currently TAKEN by Pixie and not available for application.

Cinematic Comic Characters Ranked! (Year 2008) Final Part
Wow, I just want to say that 2008 really stepped it up when it came to comic movies released. Granted, a couple weren’t the best but overall this year was one of the best out of the bunch. The Dark Knight and Hellboy II: The Golden Army are the only sequels this year, while The Punisher: War Zone and The Incredible Hulk serve as reboots. Star Wars: The Clone Wars serves as a prequel and we also see the debut of Iron Man, Speed Racer, The Spirit and Wanted! Lets start off our largest list yet! Here’s the Top 20 of 2008!
*SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE MOVIES HIGHLIGHTED ABOVE*
20. Emil Blanksy/Abomination (The Incredible Hulk)
"Give me a REAL fight!"
Like I said in 2007's list in regards to The Stranger in 30 Days of Night, if you want a character to be disliked by me, have them kill a dog. Emil does this right in the beginning as he and his team hunt Bruce down in Brazil so, naturally, my body was filled with glee when the Hulk trashed them all. This is apparently a turn-on for Emil because he gets obsessed with having the power Bruce has. It doesn't take much for him to convince Ross and then, later, Samuel Sterns to eventually help him become Abomination, a freak of immense power. Him and the Hulk enter an epic fight on the battlefield that is New York City that ends up with him getting his ass beat.
19. The Octopus (The Spirit)
"I don't like egg on my face."
The Octopus was such an outrageous character man! And unlike Jigsaw and his wack brother, The Octopus made it work for him! With help with the overall setting of the film, The Octopus showed that even though he's not all there, he's still a major threat to Central City. His thirst for immortality and world domination put him at odds with The Spirit, who also holds a grudge against him for killing him. He pulls all kinds of evil doings, including dissolving an innocent cat, which was the last straw for The Spirit. After he loses the vase of Heracles's blood, The Octoplus then blows up from a grenade shoved in his body.
18. Rachel Dawes (The Dark Knight)
"If you lose your faith in me, please keep your faith in people."
Rachel is still fighting crime in the courtroom but this time with her new boyfriend, Harvey Dent. I expected an obvious love triangle with Bruce to happen, but I don't think that's what we got. I don't think Rachel cared for Bruce like she did in the first film, but because of the promise she made she felt guilty and kept denying her feelings for Harvey to grow. Her fight for justice shows up several times as she takes down crime lords in the court and even face to face with the Joker when he goes after Harvey, but her relationship with Harvey and Bruce is what brings her demise. Her death was shocking but it would be the final tool for Harvey Dent's transformation into Two Face.
17. Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
"No, I'm the one with enthusiasm."
Ahsoka is a young Jedi in training that's been assigned to work under Anakin Skywalker's teachings. She falls quickly into the little sister role but she shows just as much determination as Anakin when he was a young Jedi, which is why I think he grows to like her. She proves her skill again and again and she even saves Anakin a few times when he's in a tight spot, though he won't admit it. She ends up taking care of Jabba's newborn and returns him safely so the tension between the Hutt's and the Republic can end.
16. Princess Nuala (Hellboy II: The Golden Army)
"I'm afraid it's the other way around."
Princess Nuala definitely has a strong sense on what is right and what is wrong. Even if she dislikes the way her people are living, she knows that attacking the humans with the Golden Army is wrong, and therefore hides the last piece of the crown from her brother after he kills their father. She seeks help from Abe and the two bond over the fact that they both have similar learning powers through their hands. Now. Once we found out that she feels everything Nuada feels, I knew she was going to die. I did not see her taking out herself though. I should've, because she was cool with her dad sentencing them to death but it still really shocked me when she went ahead and knifed herself, taking her destructive brother down with her.
15. James Gordon (The Dark Knight)
"He's a silent guardian. A Dark Knight."
With the Joker wrecking havoc on Gotham City, James Gordon had to step his game up big time. He honestly did the best he could, coming up with a great plan involving him faking his own death so he could capture the Joker that ended up promoting him to Commissioner, but the clown prince of crime was just always three steps ahead. He managed to beat Gordon at his own game several times and ended up giving him a deadly enemy, Two Face. Gordon and Harvey Dent's animosity towards each other come to end when Two Face tries to take out Gordon's family. When Batman saves them, they both agree that Batman must take the fall for Dent's death.
14. Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
"The desert is merciless. It will take everything from you."
Wow I actually liked Anakin in this movie. I think it was because he wasn't shown as this moody teenager who was just constantly filled with angst the whole damn time and instead showed him as a leader and now teacher of Ahsoka. They didn't focus too much on his relationship with Padme, which also wasn't his strongest point because again, he was just moody as hell even if he was in love. He really grew as an individual and was able to bond with Ahsoka through their travels despite him not liking her in the beginning. We got to see his angst a little bit when they returned to his home planet but I understand, even if I think it's silly, that you can't have a Skywalker on the screen and not have them go through angst.
13. Wesley Gibson (Wanted)
"What the fuck have you done lately?"
So part of me liked Wesley and the part of me didn't. I liked how he decided he wasn't going to be treated like shit anymore and stood up to all the toxic people in his life. I do like how polite he was and his determination to really be something he could be proud of. And I liked his friendship with the Executioner and his relationship with Fox. I didn't like how he all of a sudden got this superiority complex as soon as he learned a little knife trick. Like he was constantly throwing mad shade at us, the viewers, and it was a little off-putting because no one should be able to talk as much shit as he did when they allow their best friend to bang their girl for years before finally doing something. Also, why did he hate Cross so much? I get he thought Cross killed his father but damn he was hunting him down as if he had known his father his entire life! But I was glad he was able to discover the truth and then use everything he learned to bring down Sloan and the Fraternity once and for all.
12. Harvey Dent/Two Face (The Dark Knight)
"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
Harvey Dent is Gotham's White Knight. He's a lawyer that can't be bought and is determined to bring down every corrupt person in the city, which earns him a lot of enemies. When the opportunity to bring down all the crime lords shows up, he forces his way into Batman and Gordon's plans, causing tensions with the latter. But he ends up biting more than he can chew once the Joker shows up. Not only does he end up burning off half his face, but he loses Rachel as well. Her death is the final straw and Harvey Dent becomes Two Face after having a little chat with the Joker. He seeks out the cops that betrayed him, the crime lords that set it up, and even Gordon, who he blames for Rachel's death. His thirst for revenge gets him in a confrontation with Batman, ending with his death. Instead of revealing what actually happened, Gordon and Batman agree to keep Dent's White Knight reputation.
11. Abe Sapien (Hellboy II: The Golden Army)
"Despite the appearances, I bet Red will make an excellent father figure."
Abe is the most supportive friend a hellspawn can ask for. I mean, he works well with everyone. He helps support Liz after discovering she's pregnant and he even gets along well with Tom Manning. He ends up developing the biggest teenage-boy crush on Princess Nuala and starts wearing contacts, listening to love songs, and even gets drunk with Hellboy as they bond over their women. It was slightly annoying when he gave the last piece to Prince Nuada for Nuala's safety, but he was right when he pointed out Hellboy would do the same for Liz. Nuala's death definitely took a toll on him which is one of the reasons why I think he ended up quitting with the team.
10. Sand Saref (The Spirit)
"Do I look like a good girl?"
A femme fatale, Sand used to be Denny's young love as they grew up in Central City. She dreamed of diamonds, cars, and loved reading stories of Jason's Golden Fleece. When her uncle dies, she decides to break up with cop-loving Denny, and finally go after everything she wants in life. Now known for marrying rich and then killing her husbands, keeping all the money for herself. With everything she's asked for, she goes after the Golden Fleece, which brings her back to Central City. When her Fleece get's switched with Octopus's vase of blood, she becomes a major player in the war between him and the Spirit, who she learns is Denny back from the dead. Their feelings come back when he learns she still had the necklace he gave her but they aren't acted on until the final fight. With her hands on the Golden Fleece, Sand uses it's impenetrable coat to protect The Spirit and then the tow proceed to make out in front of everyone, including his current girlfriend. They break ways though, Sand choosing her diamonds and The Spirit choosing the city's protection.
9. Prince Nuada Silverlance (Hellboy II: The Golden Army)
"Let this remind you why you once feared the dark."
So I don't feel like Prince Nuada was a bad guy, he really thought he was bringing justice to his people by defeating the humans who raged war on them for years. He has a respect for nature and cares deeply about his kingdom, which is why he couldn't deal with how they were living under his father's rule while the humans destroyed all the green from their planet. So he did what he had to do to gain control of the crown pieces but then became at odds with Hellboy and his team. They end up fighting a lot, Nuada is crazy talented with the spear, but Nuada always got away because Hellboy couldn't hurt him without hurting Princess Nuala, Abe's crush. It isn't until Nuada has complete control of the Golden Army that he's defeated by Hellboy, but even then he won't stop his mission until Nuala kills herself, killing him as well.
8. Pepper Potts (Iron Man)
"I do anything and everything Mr. Stark requires. Including occasionally taking out the trash."
If there's one person who can put Tony Stark in his place, it's Pepper. In fact, I'm pretty sure Pepper can put anyone in their place, proof being when she handles the disrespectful reporter, Christine. She's Stark's personal assistant and handles literally everything in his life, since the millionaire genius is pretty much incapable of doing anything besides creating amazing technology (he really should know his social security number). It's Pepper who discovers that Obadiah was the one trying to kill him and it's Pepper who helps Iron Man take him down. There isn't a resolution to the chemistry between Pepper and Tony, but since she's still his assistant, there's still hope.
7. Denny Colt/The Spirit (The Spirit)
"She is my lover, and I am her Spirit."
I get why literally every girl in this movie fell for the Spirit, he's extremely charismatic. How he learned to do that after rising from the dead, I don't know, but it's a skill he mastered and it's got him out of several tough spots as he tries to protect the city (granted it's gotten him in tougher spots too). He has a hilarious rivalry with The Octopus which puts him in even more hilarious situations like fighting in the mud with toilets, jumping off buildings with his pants off, and fighting goons holding gun with nothing but snowballs. Despite all of this, he manages to save his city, kiss the girl (ends up with another girl), and finally takes The Octopus down with a grenade.
6. Hellboy (Hellboy II: The Golden Army)
"I'm not gonna kill him, Abe. But I am gonna kick his ass!"
Our favorite petty hellspawn is back! Nothing much has changed since we lost saw Hellboy. He's still in love with Liz and his kittens, still desperately wants to fit in with society, and still has a nasty temper. Despite all their arguing, Hellboy and Liz still find a way to make it work, especially now that Liz is pregnant with his babies. His relationship with Abe also expands, Hellboy taking on a big brother role as he helps Abe deal with his feelings with Princess Nuala, and by 'deal' I mean they get drunk and listen to sad love songs. Despite the annoyance of Krauss being added to the team, Hellboy manages to lead everyone against Prince Nuada and his powerful Golden Army. When he takes them all done, him and Liz quit the department and walk off to start their new family.
5. Bruce Banner/Hulk (The Incredible Hulk)
"HULK SMASH!"
The Hulk is the first superhero that's gotten a reboot in my list's history. Even though the film is technically a sequel, lots of things were rebooted and, in my opinion, for the better. Not only do we get to see the Hulk in his destructive glory but I feel like we were finally able to connect to Bruce as a human. He's someone with a problem that has the potential to cause serious harm for anyone near him so he isolates himself from everyone he cares about and tries to find a way to get rid of away. Of course he can't stay hidden too long and ends up reuniting with Betty, but with the army trying to selfishly use his contaminated blood as a weapon of their own, the journey just gets harder and harder for Bruce. In the end, when he's fighting Abomination on the streets of New York, Bruce nearly kills him as the Hulk but with the help off Betty he's able to manage his rage, if only briefly, and runs off to British Colombia. There we see him last, his glowing eyes hinting at his newfound control over the Hulk.
4. Fox (Wanted)
"We kill one and maybe save a thousand."
If anyone believes in the code and in the Fraternity of Assassins, it's Fox. This is someone who was actually a victim of what happens when an assassin doesn't kill their target. It's probably why she joins, herself, and quickly becomes one of the best they have. She's badass in every way, shape, and form. From curving bullets, driving in crazy speed chases, and climbing the side of a train as it gets ready to fall over a rocky cliff, she's someone who's capable of anything. When she finds out her name, along with everyone in the Fraternity's names, show up she disobeys Sloan and honors the code it the most epic way. With one final curve of her bullet, she manages to take down everyone in the room, including herself.
3. Bruce Wayne/Batman (The Dark Knight)
"Because sometimes the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes, people deserve more."
The Dark Knight is back and the streets of Gotham couldn't be any more safe, but it's not just him that c an take the credit. Gotham has a hero with a face taking down these crime lords and his name is Harvey Dent. This man gives Bruce hope that maybe he can step away from the suit and live a normal life with Rachel after all, but all that comes crashing down once the Joker steps to the plate. Bruce made a mistake in underestimating Joker, thinking of him as a common criminal, which ends up costing him the lives of several people including Rachel. Bruce has to really think outside the box when it comes to stopping him and when he finally does, he ends up with another threat in the form of Two Face. When Harvey Dent regrettably dies, Bruce understands that the general public will go into chaos if they find out about his corruption and so he decides to take the blame entirely, saving Harvey's reputation along with Gotham City's safety.
2. Tony Stark/Iron Man (Iron Man)
"The truth is...I am Iron Man."
The genius owner of a millionaire dollar business. Tony Stark is one of the most brilliant men the world has to offer, and he puts his brains into making weapons for the military to help keep the peace. It isn't until after he's kidnapped by terrorist with his own weapon technology that he realizes his mistakes. He turns a new leaf and decides to create a hero of sorts to help protect people from those who wish to harm them: Iron Man! Tony Stark's charisma and humor throughout the film was so fun to watch and his journey to becoming a hero was even better to see happen. At the end he does what no hero has done before, he reveals he's indeed Iron Man, not wanting to hide away from his responsibilities.
1. The Joker (The Dark Knight)
"Why so serious?"
Is anyone surprised? 2008 had the most bad ass characters by far with returning champions Batman, Hellboy, and Angelina Jolie (even though she won as Tomb Raider instead of Fox) and the debut of Iron Man. There's only one person who could steal the throne from them at that was Heath Ledger's Joker. The Joker ruled every scene he was in and was, in every sense of the word, a madman. From his multiple backstories on how he got his scars to his nurse outfits, Joker installed fear and uncertainty in everyone that crossed his path. An agent of chaos, Joker quickly flipped Gotham upside down and had the entire city scrambling to figure him out and put a stop to him. And even though he does eventually get stopped because Batman does have more strength in the end, no one figures him out. He's a puzzle piece that remains unsolved because every time you try he finds a way to create the biggest, most chaotic storm in your life. It's his wild plans that aids in the creation of Two Face, after all. The Joker is one of the greatest enemies Batman has ever faced and his reign as one of the greatest villains of all time in film is still evident almost ten years later.

Why should Nuala be frantically scrambling to get any seeds from the forest being when it was Nuada who put it in the position where it had to be killed in the first place?
NO. NO… HOW DARE YOU ASK ME ABOUT THE ONE ASPECT OF NUADA’SBEHAVIOR THAT I CANNOT DEFEND?!
(Except the whole human genocide thing, but that’s not anaction yet, it’s just a plan… that has time to be thwarted. XD)
Seriously, though, I was really hoping nobody was going tobring this up because (sigh)… Ireally have no good answer for you, and his use of the forest god at that timeand for that reason is something that really bothers me about him. I choose toalmost chalk it up to the move i just wanting to use this cool creature ratherthan any sort of real decision he would have made because it just didn’t makeany sense to me.
If only the forest god had been a bit more mature, able totake its time in germinating, or if it had been less distracted by the varioushumans (and random red-skinned demon) around it, it might have been able to doa lot more damage to the city and reclaim much more of it for nature. But, toquote Cassandra from Wayne’s World, “Yeah, and if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass when ithopped.” Things could always have been better, somewhere, somehow, but the fact is they weren’t, and Nuada knew that. He knew it wasstill very young. He had only just finished fixing the incubation vessel (whichwe got to know nothing about, we don’t even know that that’s what it really isbut that’s what I assume and I’ve had to pretty much come up with how thatthing actually worked on my own because the movie gave us nothing) recently. Inthe movie it seemed to be merely a… launching implement? I mean really, whydoes a forest god’s seed need a launch pad? Especially sink it bonked its tinygreen head (or ass?) on the asphalt numerous times while trying to find waterand was still fine. I get the feeling like it was not a delicate seed at all. Ibelieve the tiny egg-shaped apparatus was a vessel to keep the seed alive untilplanting/revival. I envision needles inside that safely deliver water to theseed. I envision that the inside is temperature-controlled. Perhaps it even containeda nutrient-delivery system. If magic was involved, who knows what it wascapable of? But my point is… Nuada knew its needs and knew its age. It may havebeen kept in stasis as a seed for centuries, but as far as life cycle, it was ayoung creature. He should not have placed it immediately into a dangeroussituation.
BUT… being Nuada’s mun and classically being defensive ofhim even when he’s being a little shit, I will try to argue in Nuada’s defense.I think… that Nuada thought two things were going to happen (or not happen, actually): 1) he did not expect the humans (or anyone else) to fight back, heexpected chaos to ensue and for everybody to just run… and then for the god tokill Hellboy… game over, and 2) he did not expect them to have any real meansof killing it. Nuada has seen the great human wars. He knows about bombs andRPGs and other forms of heavy artillery. But… I do not think he thought that ina human city at peacetime, those types of tactics would be used. Blades (even achainsaw, think about it) would be no use. Regular guns? Haha, the god wouldn’teven feel it. I don’t think he planned on Hellboy having this humongous guncapable of blowing gaping holes right through the god’s body. I know he didn’t. Because Nuada would neverhave sent that creature to slaughter. He wanted it to destroy the city. Heexpected it to be this big huge event… and it was shot a couple times and justdied. He had to feel horrible about that. Trulyhorrible.
I also think that, once he realized Hellboy could possiblykill the god, he thought he could talk Hellboy out of doing so. Some peoplehave used the scene where Nuada talks to Hellboy from the rooftop as proof thathe was power-hungry and all that. Because he tells Hellboy that he could be aking. Do you think Nuada cares what happens to Hellboy? Hell no, he’s a demon, heh. Unlike the other creatures of earth, this dude is legit from hell. Nuadaprobably wants to be rid of him along with the humans. He only spoke to himthen for two reasons: 1) to save the forest god, and 2) to potentially gain a powerfulally. If he can convert Hellboy, he saves the god for the time being and cannow command someone very powerful. But he realized that he couldn’t becauseHellboy doesn’t listen to anybody heh, and because Hellboy has too much of asoft spot for humans.
When Hellboy continued to shoot the god and kill it, Nuadais already gone. Some have said to me that this is just reckless behavior. He threwout the god to die and then just left. I saw it differently. I saw it as… hewas not able to stay and watch it die. It was too painful for him. What he mostlikely did was climb down, wait somewhere secluded, collect himself, and thensneak out to collect some seeds before the humans could clean everything up. It’sa oneshot that would be entirely inside his head, it would be achingly tragicto write from his point of view, and I’ve honestly shied away from it because I’mtoo scared to write it, heh. I’m scared of the feels. I’ll probably cry, heh.But since this was brought up… I will give it a go. I will try to write thisoneshot now, because I think it’s something that needs to be addressed.
NOW… whether or not I have successfully defended Nuada’sbehavior, that does not mean Nuala can’t scramble to get some seeds herself. She can think Nuada was irresponsible in releasing the god at that place andtime all she wants, but she should still want to preserve the species. He didsomething wrong so… I’m not going to fix it? What does that do? What does thatprove? Would she just be trying to make Nuada feel worse by forcing him to dealwith the finality of what he’s done and not trying at all to protect thespecies? Personally, I think that would be very petty. Whether or not he didanything wrong, and whether or not she is angry with him or disappointed in himis irrelevant. As an Elven princess who is supposed to love and respect Nature, she should collect some damn seeds and get them in a pot fast, haha. If Naturewants the species to fade, then She’ll make all the seeds die, so it’s notinterfering with her precious “sit back and let everything fade” attitude. Allshe had to do is pot a few seeds. (shrugs)Try a little, Nuala, come on. Just try. If you think your brother is wrong thenfight against him. Otherwise shut your yap about it. Haha I’m so bitter withregard to her, I love it. XD
Honestly I have no idea whether this answered you questionor not. This was kindof just a word dump on my thoughts on the subject, haha. But thanks. THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS UP. (twitchesslightly) I so thought I was going to avoid this topic. Damn. So close. XD Seriouslythough, thanks, haha, it did need to be discussed. =)

[Story] Execution: Pyreanor (Part 4)
Pyreanor Gift and Boarding House, 24 Phoenix Way, The Bazaar, Quel'thalas.
8:47pm
——
Lady Leiah, the eldest of the Pyreanor sisters, had long, silken coppery red hair cropped just below shoulder length and a freckled face. She stood nude before a full body mirror in her room; she had brushed her damp hair to perfection, struck little poses, and admired her physique. She had just finished a day of work at the smithy, her rigorous evening workout, and relaxing evening bath. Her form seemed delicate and cute, then she flexed her muscles, displaying just how buff she was under her dainty facade to the woman in the mirror, and the woman seemed to approve.
The alarm went off and Leiah cringed. What was it now? She moved to her dresser and started putting on clean clothes; she would have to make an appearance. When the call for evacuation sounded over the intercom, Leiah's casual pace shifted to a hurried one. She pulled on her armor, activated the head barrier spell, and went plowing from her room like a freight train, sword and board in hands, and Light help anyone who got in her way.
——
Dalaen Duskhallow, Reliquary Magister, preferred to eat his supper alone and sat in his bedroom, on his bed, with a tray over his lap, food box, and a wineglass upon the tray. Dalaen enjoyed a good book in the evenings, with a good cup of wine. He was an athletic man with dark auburn hair, known for his cunning, his fire magic, and shadow magic. Dalaen wore his hair, usually kept in braids, down and long, and it cascaded in large waves down his back, large hoop earrings, a loose silken robe, and jewelry inspired by his archaeological finds in Uldum, jewelry plated with gold and accented with lapis lazuli.
This was nice, a fine relaxing evening. He took a bite of his food, a sip of his wine, and then the alarm went off and he coughed on his drink. No, no no! Not tonight. He winced as the screams of the woman below echoed in his head. Dalaen wrinkled his nose, brought his lips up in a sneer, and ground his teeth.
Zan's voice spoke through the com, Dalaen put the lid back on his food box, moved his meal tray aside, and rose from his bed with an exasperated sigh. It never ended. He grabbed his staff and marched down the stairs in his silky robes to put out whatever fire the idiots in the workshop happened to cause this time. He paused when he saw the trail of blood leading up one of the ramps to the upper floors. This wasn't a fire, and there he was in his nightgown, barefoot, about to face light-knows what with only his spell-stick. He growled and pressed himself against a wall, and listened.
He survived against the scourge; he could handle this, no problem.
——
Tyan, the grumpy old priest whom Zan called husband, Azara, the handsome white-haired grumpy tinkering paladin whom Zan also called husband stirred from their book reading on the call for an evacuation. Tyan was enjoying the newest addition to the Hawk and Lynx novel series, while Azara had been surveying a new book of gnomish schematics smuggled in from Alliance territory and translated. The two grumps looked at each other and nodded.
Tyan would stay and heal. Azara would go door to door with the master key, open it, and make sure every resident got out. As they stepped out of the bedroom, Leiah went barreling between them at high speed. She shoved one grump to either side of her, "Get out of my way, nerds." Tyan pinched the bridge of his nose and Azara ran down the hall to assure everyone evacuated.
Miastal ran up to his brother, "What's going on?"
Tyan sighed, "I don't know." He looked up and noticed Kemnebi armed and ready on the banister and Dalaen pressed against the wall beside them all pretty in his nightclothes, then at the trail of blood leading upstairs that the wavy haired brunet Magister eyed, "Something bad. Very, very bad."
——
Meanwhile, Danil lurched up the ramp towards the upper floors where the young rangerlings and other youths resided, and he left a trail of blood in his wake. It was hard to move and hard to breathe, he tasted the familiar taste of blood in his mouth as his lungs flooded with blood. He coughed occasionally and felt as if every moment was an eternity, a familiar horror he experienced in the aftermath of his kite accident in Pandaria. Danil had several arrows impaling him, in his, left, front, and right sides, including his lungs. His usually fel-green eyes glowed a pale golden with a hint of soft of blue green. Dani was only alive based on his own willpower, on his light and his chi.
Many of the young residents stood outside their rooms in armor, ready to fight, while others, the younger non-combatant ones, clung to prized possessions or pet cats, terrified, and seeing Danil, the walking wounded, trying to care for them only amplified their terror.
Danil led the young elves to a storage room in the middle of the floor area and showed them the transporter base. One of the young rangers locked the door behind them. The gentle giant half-elf uttered, with shallow breaths and between coughs, "Take one of these. Set it to four, press the button. You will be okay." One by one all of the wards left, all but two Wynthar Dawnblaze and Tyariel Dawnblaze, brothers raised a by a priestess. They insisted Danil go before them, so they knew he would also be safe.
Tyariel took Danil's transporter controller and set it to four then spirited him away, he followed, and Wynthar, the cheerful ginger ranger, went last.
——
(This-part is written by two people collaboratively.)
Meanwhile, on the lowest floor of the basement, Nuadathiel had been relaxing after a long shower, wings fanned out, half-asleep and in bed. The ripples of the woman's scream did not quite reach the venerable mage's ears, but the alarm did, and he pushed himself up on his elbows to insert the communicator in his ear, belatedly remembering to engage the hiding function as he pulled on loose trousers, then his battle robe and soft cloth boots. A cloak and additional chest armor followed.
"Evacuate, code four. This is not a drill. Evacuate code four." said the calm voice of Warden Pyreanor through the headset.
The magus frowned and grabbed his belt pouch and tome, then stepped out of his room, locking the door behind him.
He knocked on Aidanathiel's door and it opened. "Grab Andorithas before he does something stupid and get the younglings to the portal." he ordered, then went on to rouse Liliriel, Seritathiel, and Andorithas. Next, he knocked on Gavin and Aeinnar's door, then Regiarin's, which felt like it opened onto the Borean Tundra.
The silver-haired elf grabbed a thick, fluffy blanket from the linen closet and opened the door. "Regiarin, it's Nuada," he shouted, "We need to leave now."
Regiarin, the blue-skinned young frost mage, in fear of recapture, went into a frozen, panicked sort of state, which included flash freezing his bedroom. His wings quivered as Nuada eased him up out of his room. Aeinnar slipped from his room, illusion up, his red hair neatly groomed and a weak smile on his face. The scruffy brown haired Gavinarin stumbled from his room in his violet robes, also illusioned, but not quite as confident.
Talethiel emerged from his room, fully armored, illusioned, and ready to fight. He set up defense at the door to the stairwell, which he closed and locked. Garethiel, clad in his white leathers, exited soon after, blades ready and looking for a fight. He took his place beside Talethiel. The freckled pyromancer Zarithiel soon joined the two.
Zerah, a white haired priestling and one of the partially apotheosed, came bursting from his room and ran down the hall. He hit the mechanism to reveal the mechanical platform and smiled, proud of himself, "Let's get going."
Pathariel emerged from his room shortly after wearing his armor, bow, and quiver, ready to fight, and moments later Vosathiel slipped from his own bedroom, fully robed, and moved toward the exit platform. He looked at it, then at Zerah, then at Path.
"You go first, make sure it's safe," Vosath said to the golden-haired blue-clad ranger. The ranger vanished and returned a few moments later, gave a thumbs up gesture, then vanished again, and Vosathiel followed after him.
Thantal, the former Society test-subject suffering crystallization, eased another victim, the red-skinned, black haired Felblood Vathiel, from a bedroom and toward the emergency exit. Both pressed the gems on their necklaces and activated their illusions before using the device for their escape.
Nuadathiel tapped Aeinnar on the shoulder and handed Regiarin over to him with a soft smile. "Go now, swiftly."
Aenniar smiled at the elder Nuada and carried his bundled up, quivering friend to the teleportation pad, pressed the button, and spirited them away to safety. One by one, all of the younger elves did this.
Garthiel glanced behind himself, then at the locked door, "Do we escape, or stand and fight whatever might be there?"
Zarithiel shook his head and clutched his staff, fire magic arcing at his fingertips, "If we stay, we fight, and we fall injured and incapacitated, there is a chance those who find us will kill us instead of heal us. We cannot count on mercy. We must flee.
Nuadathiel nodded, walking calmly back to his room and unlocking the door. He emerged with his staff, and locked the door, then touched the wall, murmuring softly. An additional shield formed and sank into the walls. A thick, arcane barrier formed across the door.
Seritathiel had her brother first by the ear, then by the legs as the scrappy rogue struggled. When he turned into a raven, she sighed and lofted her cloak around him, carrying the struggling bundle of angry bird onto the teleportation pad and pressed the button.
Liliriel followed them, an arrow nocked to her bow. She mashed the button with her elbow.
Aidana sighed. "Everyone gets a potion on the other side, or a boot to the head. We are NOT having another stress molt."
Zarithiel, Gar, and Talthiel began backpedaling, slowly, one-step at a time towards the transporter pad at the other end of the hall. Zarin then Gar took the transporter, one after another without a word.
Aidanathiel followed Gar, also without a word, her arms full of medical kits and bags of potions. She mashed the button with her elbow.
Talethiel stood with his weapon, shield out, and ready, glaring at the door on the other end of the building with an intense glare.
Nuadathiel looked sideways at Talethiel as he watched the door. The flock was evacuated.
Talethiel looked back to Nuada, "Go. I'll close up behind you."
Nuadathiel sighs and nods, the last of his barriers flowing upward. "Do not be long." he replied, and stepped on the teleport pad.
The magus tapped the button and was whisked away to the opposite end, where he looked out upon the other evacuees.
Talethiel hopped onto the transporter pad and slid the secret door closed, locking it in place. He then reached down into a compartment on the pad and pulled a mechanical device out. He set a timer for thirty seconds, pressed the activation button, then hit his teleport button. The device he activated remained even after Talethiel departed.
Thirty seconds later, the device, an EMP, activated and a powerful electromagnetic pulse fried the teleportation pad's circuit boards, and rendered it non-functional so no one could follow them, at least not through that particular device.

Nuada x Abused!Reader
(Requested by @athywinchester :Hello! May I have a Nuada x Abused Reader. So Reader works with Reds team, and she was in a very abusive past relationship. So Prince Nuada joining the team and Reader is jumpy tense and distant from him for the reason that he always looks intimidating, so Nuada gets frustrated that she aviods him but seems fine with Abe and Red and when he demands to know why Red explains her past. Nuada becomes intranced and both fall in love! Fluff and implied smut, protective Red and Abe! Thank you! ♥️)
(A/N): This honestly took longer than I expected and its probably the longest story I have wrote so far, but I liked the challenge and i hope all of your like the result!
Warning: Angst, Talk of abuse, fluff, implied smut, Grammatical Error.
Word Count: 6,587
Nuada and his sister were walking down one of the hallways in the B.P.R.D, talking about various thinks, simply enjoying the company of one another as if it was the old days before the war with the humans and them separate.
"Brother, I assure you Abraham is treating me well." Said Nuala with a small smile.
"Just keep reminding him that he will be punished for any wrong act he commits against you." Replied Nuada sternly. Nuala just nodded.
Nuala is happy that her brother finally accepted her relationship with Abraham, but him being overprotective of her can be a bit troubling. Nevertheless, she enjoyed having her brother back. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she saw a familiar face walk opposite them, with her hand full of files and a troubled look on her face.
"(Y/n)!" She called with a smile, earning the agent's attention who smiled back at her.
"Nuala, Hey!"
(Y/n) called back moving closer to the princess but slowed down and the troubled look was back. Nuala was confused by the sudden hesitation to approach her, following her eyes she realized that she was staring at her brother who looked neutral, not showing disdain or hate towards the human agent, which Nuala couldn't helo but feel proud of that he is trying his best. However, her brother wasn't her main concern.
"(Y/n)." She called again catching the girl's attention.
"O…Oh!..hmm.." (Y/n) stammered not knowing what to say, she held tight to the files in her arms and started marching forward with her eyes averted to the side. "Sorry I have a lot of work to do, bye!"
Nuala didn't get the chance to stop the female human as she went past her. The Elven princess blinked a couple of times at what just happened, confused by (Y/n) behavior.
"What was…Strange." She said breaking the silence. Nuada sighed before he continued walking.
"It is not your fault sister, its mine." He stated. Nuala's eyes furrowed and she followed him.
"What do you mean brother?" She kept her eyes on him. His eyes seemed neutral as always but she could see that there was something else.
"That human is scared of me for some reason." He answered.
"Aren't all humans in here afraid of you?" She asked casual causing her brother to chuckle at her choice of words.
"Some are, but they don't cower away as she does." He replied. "When I was first given my freedom all the humans feard me including her, but now, they all mustered the courage to approach me, except for her."
Nuala was surprised by how bothered her brother looked at the idea of (Y/n) avoiding and fearing him.
"Maybe she is just intimidated by other creatures." Nuala said trying to assure him but he only shook his head.
"She isn't." he answered. "If she was then she would be terrified of Hellboy and Abraham but she seems very close with them."
Nuala stayed silenced for a while not sure of what else to say to assure her dear brother that he wasn’t in the wrong. She bit her lower lip and looked down at her hands with a thoughtful stare. Then an idea came to her.
"I can figure out the real reason." She said and her brother looked at her with a raised brow. She continued. "We spend a lot of time together in the library maybe I could ask her, or at least touch her skin and-"
She stopped when Nuada held up his hand stopping her. He turned fully to face her.
"I appreciate you willing to use your powers for me, sister." He started. "But I know how much you dislike using your powers on others, even if it was for me, I don't wish for you to do it."
Nuala wanted to say something but only smiled at her brother.
"Very well brother, if that is what you wish." She said with a nod.
"It is." He nodded back.
They resumed walking together for a while but Nuada broke the silence.
"Although, I wouldn't mind telling her that I am not as bad as I look."
Nuala just nodded as she smiled knowingly at him.
---
Swinging his blade swiftly Nuada was able to decapitate the last creature they were sent to kill, but he didn't care for that. The Elven prince was more concerned for the little human who joined them on this mission. He tried to keep close in order to protect her and to show her that he meant wished no harm to her. However, while he was distracted with the piled up creatures the human must have slipped away because when he turned back she wasn't there. It frustrated him. He started to make his way out of the hallway from the second floor, wondering if the little human was safe when he heard shouting from the foyer on the first floor. Nuada walked slower as he peaked down and saw that the source of the noises was Hellboy, with him were you and Abraham.
"Great work shrimp!" Exclaimed Hellboy with a laugh.
"Thanks, Red!" She shouted back with a big smile. Nuada's eyes slightly widened at the sight of your smile.
Hellboy then picked you up with his stone hand, causing you to let out a sound of surprise. Nuada was about to step forward and stop the demon but stopped when he heard you let out a series of laughter.
"Let me down, you red abe!" You shouted hitting his back playfully.
Nuada looked at the scene folding in front of him with almost a pained look when he confirmed that you feard only him and not just other mythical creatures.
When they finally got out of the ruined manor that was a nest to those creatures they just killed, Nuada stayed a safe distance and he kept watching your interaction with Hellboy and Abraham and you didn't cower at her touch, voice or even sight. Nuada wouldn't admit it out loud but his appearance almost resembled a human's, if his eyes and skin were in a different color, compared to the demon and the fish he didn't look intimidating a lot. Nuada looked up when he noticed that you had to leave the two to join the other humans, that was his chance to approach. He walked a beeline towards Hellboy catching his attention and before he could question what the Elf wanted Nuada spoke.
"Why does (Y/n) fear me?" He asked bluntly, his face and voice calm and neutral.
"Uh…what?" Asked Hellboy who seemed taken it back by the sudden question. Abraham just blinked and watched.
"The female Human named (Y/n)." He started to explain. "She has been avoiding me since the day I joined the Organization. At first, I thought because she fears mythical creatures like any other human, but I always see her acting so friendly to you both, so I am why does she fear me?... and how can I…stop it?..."
Nuada didn't want to result in asking anyone for help, not wanting to seem desperate or weak in front of anyone. But the human girl made him reach his limits and just wanting answers. Hellboy just looked at him with a raised brow confused, then his eyes narrowed dangerously at the young prince. He placed his stone hand on his shoulder and squeezed, not enough to crush the elf's shoulder but enough to make him wince in pain. Hellboy leaned forward to the prince.
"Are you planning to hurt (Y/n)?" He asked in a harsh whisper, "Cause I promise to make you regret the thought of it."
"Red stop!" Said Abraham panicking as he released Hellboy's hold on Nuada. "You are going to hurt Nuala!"
Despite knowing that Abraham can't stand a chance against the demon's strength, Hellboy let go of Nuada for his friend's sake. Nuada brought his hand up to massage his shoulder knowing full well that it will bruise. He will have to check on Nuala when her returns. Hellboy was going to say something else to the elf but Abraham came between them facing the demon.
"Why are ya stopping me blue?" Hellboy asked with furrowed brows.
"Because you misunderstood Nuada's intention, he means no harm for sister (Y/n). In fact, he wishes to befriend her." Abraham said carefully when he turned to look at the surprised prince he explained. "Nuala told me of what was happening."
"And what is happening?" Asked Hellboy confused. He looked between Abraham and Nuada.
"It appears that sister (Y/n) is… intimidated by Nuada." Abraham explained. Hellboy's glare was back to the prince but Abraham quickly continued earning the attention back to him.
"Red…I think she is ….still…hmm…" He struggled with what he wanted to say, but then found it better to just whisper what he wants to say to his friend.
Nuada observed as Hellboy's eyes widened in realization. He pulled away and looked down at his friend with a look of concern.
"But I thought she got over it." He whispered back but Nuada could hear him. Abraham shook his head.
"No one truly gets over such thing Red." He started to explain. "They either let the pain consume them forever or cope with it or learn from it. (Y/n) got better not because she was strong but also because she had us by her side at all times until she was free again... or at least that what it seems."
"What do you mean?" Asked Hellboy as calmly as he could.
"Deep down (Y/n) is still affected by what happened and I believe that prince Nuada's presence somehow triggered those feelings back."
Nuada frowned at his words. It's true that he still didn't understand what they were speaking of but he heard enough to know that (Y/n) was hurt in some way and he somehow is making her reliving it.
"What are you doing still standing here?" They all turned and saw it was a displeased Manning. "Get in that truck and return to HQ, we already have enough in our hands."
Without another word Hellboy, Abraham and Nuada aborded the vehicle and stayed silent throughout the entire way back. There were a lot of moments that Nuada wanted to say something, his mind was filled with questions that he demanded answers to, but he can sense the tension around Hellboy, for apparently whatever you have been through it angered him greatly. When they finally reached HQ Nuada was planning to talk to Abraham and get answers from him, even if the idea angered him.
"Hey…"
Nuada looked up and saw that it was Hellboy looking down at him with no previous malic.
"Come to my room tomorrow morning, but not too early."
He said simply before walking away not giving a chance to the Elvin prince to say or ask anything. Deciding that this will be better than being alone with Abraham Nuada went back to his room unable to sleep waiting for the next morning anxiously, through it his mind kept imagining the many possibilities of what he will learn tomorrow, of you, of your past.
---
Standing in front of the giant heavy Iron door or Hellboy and his spouse's room. He reached for the small keyboard on the side with the screen and camera and pushed a button to form the demon that there is someone who wishes to enter. From what Nuada learned, Hellboy used to be locked in his room until one of the agents opened the door for him but after defeating him, his army and learning of the human Liz's pregnancy the organization allowed them the freedom to roam around without a schedule. The heavy door started to unlock and Nuada took a cautious step back allowing the door to slowly swing open, but it didn't need to open all the way for Nuada to see A shirtless Hellboy standing behind it.
"Good morning." Nuada greeted first. His relationship with Hellboy might still be rocky but he never forgets his etiquettes
"….morning." Mumbles Hellboy before turning around and walked back into the room, Nuada didn't what for an invitation as he walked in after him.
Nuada was genuinely surprised when he found the room clean and organized. Sounds of purring caught his attention, he looked down to see a couple of cats rubbing on his legs when he followed the trails of other cats he saw in the corner a placed filled with cat toys, cat food, toward scratchers, and the opposite side the letterbox. Nuada furrowed his brows in disgust.
"I maybe succeeded in cleaning this room, but I can never be able to talk him into giving up those cats." A feminine voice called.
Nuada turned a saw a heavily pregnant Liz carrying a plat of food which Hellboy quickly took from, and started setting up the small table.
"The same way I can't talk you out of not moving too much." He said making Liz roll her eyes. She turned to the prince and greeted him good morning which he returned.
"I was honestly surprised when Red told me that you are joining us for breakfast." She said as she made her way to the table and sat down with a small groan. Nuada followed.
"He isn't here to just join us for breakfast." Said Hellboy almost disgruntledly, causing Liz to look at him with a confused look.
"I asked for Hellboy's help last night and he told me to come to him in the morning." Informed Nuada.
"Problem?" Questioned Liz and she looked between the two beings. "What problem?... What is going on red?"
He stayed silenced for a while thinking his words carefully, before setting down across from Nuada. He licked his lips nervously.
"(Y/n) is… terrified from Nuada." He started. When seeing the hint of flame starting to spark from her skin in anger he continued. "Because she is still hurt from what happened before?"
Her flames died down in realization and the angry look was replaced with one of sadness.
"Oh no…" Was all that she could say.
"I came to Hellboy in hopes of knowing the reason for her fear of me." Said Nuada hiding the irritation he felt for being still left in the dark.
Hellboy and Liz shared a look before he let out a sigh.
"Its something that happened to her a few years ago, Before you came along." Started Hellboy. "(Y/n) was a new agent and one of the few who didn't judge someone easily by the way they looked or what others said about them. which made her a great asset and a cool person to be around. However, Because of her kind self, it also can make her… A target to some…lowlife, manipulative bastard!.. who deserves to be-"
"Red!" Called Liz putting her hand over her lover's to calm him, Hlleboy squeezed her hand and released a sigh before looking.
"She started seeing someone." He continued. "They went out a few times and seemed like a decent guy. He made her laugh, feel appreciated and loved, gave her attention, it wasn't long until they started living together, which if I was being honesty felt jealous of… Anyway, after they started living together something…changed."
"Changed?" repeated Nuada as he unconsciously leaned forward. Hellboy nodded finding it a little difficult to continue.
"She started keeping her distance from us." Interrupted Liz giving her lover a reassuring look that she will take over.
"She stopped visiting Abe and Red or even be around them, she started ignoring me and would exit any room I enter immediately. We noticed the change but thought nothing of it for it wasn't the first time someone tries to befriend us only to fear us in the end… But then I heard from other girls how her body was… filled… with bruises. I ignored it at first thinking it was only from practice or missions, but then we find her every now and then doing paperwork because one of her legs or arms were broken."
"One of?" Nuada questions with a displeased look.
"Yes." Confirmed Liz. "It happens every few months, when one of her arms heals, then we find one of her legs is broken. After having 3 limps broken in the span on months the B.P.R.D assigned her for paperwork, pulling her completely from field missions."
Nuada listened silently with a dark look, he already knew what was happening but he still wanted to hear the end.
"Then what happened?" he asked, urging for her to continue.
"Then the disappearing started." Hellboy took over. "She wouldn't show up for days sometimes a whole week, and when she did show up she looked…deranged… If he wasn't around for her to follow she would be lost, not that he ever gave her space."
"How did you find out?" Nuada asked feeling his blood boil the more he listened, but kept a calm façade.
"I found him hit her in one of the empty hallways." Said Liz bitterly, the table under her hand started to show black spots of fire she tries to suppress. "She was pleading him to stop, she was crying but he kept going while degrading her. I was so angry that I don't remember a lot of what happened, all I know is that I marched out of there with (Y/n) while he was screaming in the background, I found out later from manning that I burned his entire right arm disfiguring it."
"That's the least of what he deserved." Muttered Hellboy angrily.
"And then?" Asked Nuada, his voice filled with malice no longer hiding his anger.
"I took her to the library knowing that the bastard won't dare come closer to anywhere near Abe or Red." She continued. "I tried to make her talk but she couldn't, she was too petrified by what he would do to her later."
"She didn't need to say anything." Said Hellboy. "Blue told us everything that she had suffered through. It started with the drunk rages, he would break things, slam his fist on the wall and slap her. Then he demanded that she breaks contact with us, but when she refused he would hit her some more but resulted in breaking her limps because he knew that she will still be around us even through missions."
"Why didn't she fight back?" Nuada almost yelled. "I saw her fight, I saw how she deals with others idiocy, she is a strong woman who fears nothing, how can she allow that!"
Liz and Hellboy were taken it back by his sudden outburst, surprised that he actually cares about a human, about you.
"… Because back then she wasn't the same strong woman today." Explained Liz. "He manipulated her made her feel as if she needed him and how she will be lost without him. There are those times when she did fight back…but… He would …"
"He would what?" Asked Nuada. "What worst can he possibly do?"
"Whenever she fought back he would lock her up in the basement, with no light, food, or water for several days."
Nuada's eyes widened at what he heard. Humans can truly be disgusting and selfish creatures, but to go as far as destroying an innocent person both mentally and physically just for the idea that they can, disgust him greatly. His vision turned red with bloodlust, he wanted more than to find that human and make him pay for everything he had done. His hand unconsciously traveled to the blade resting on his side, which Hellboy noticed.
"Calm down there, big guy." Said Hellboy putting his left hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner. "I can understand your anger, but I'm both glad and sad to say that he no longer works here anymore."
"Where is he?" Asked Nuasda with narrowed eyes.
"It's kind of a long story but I will shorten it. After Lizzy burned his hand Manning came to confront her, which lead to us telling him everything that he had done, there was a lot of camera footage and clinical files to show that he was a rotten man, but the nail on the coffin was (Y/n)'s confession and the evidence in their home. The bastard made a lot of commission when they transferred him to who knows where, but they fired him completely when he tried to expose the B.P.R.D in anger of what we did to him. But they… Shut him up."
Hellboy said the last part with a dark chuckle,
"What about (Y/n)?"
The chuckle died and a sad look crossed Hellboy's eyes.
"It was a long journey for (Y/n) to reach what she is today." He began. "She kept waking up screaming at night thinking he was at the door, she cried, doubted herself and nearly quit her job. They wanted to send her away saying how she wasn't mentally stable, no longer fit to work for the organization but… My Father kept her around fighting them back every time they tried to fire (Y/n)."
"If it wasn't for him (Y/n) wouldn't have been here with us." Said Liz with a soft smile. "With people who would care and love her."
There was a long silence between them before Nuada finally spoke.
"She fears me because I remind her of that disgusting being."
The couple shared a look, silently conversing on what should they say or do next because Nuada seemed genuinely upset that you fear him so much. Then Hellboy finally said.
"Did you try talking to her?" He asked.
"I did but she always runs away before I'm even able to say "Hello" to her." Answered Nuada.
"Maybe show her that you mean no harm and wish her good?" Said Liz, Nuada shook his head at her words.
"When we go on missions I try my best to protect her but when I turn around she is already gone."
"Tell Nuala to talk to her for you, they seem pretty close." Siad Hellboy thinking he got it.
"I already told Nuala to tell her that I mean no harm but nothing came up yet."
Hellboy and Liz looked at each other again troubled by what to say next, Hellboy was mostly annoyed. They both struggled to find a solution and Nuada could read it clearly in their faces, he released a defeated sigh and stood up, surprising them both.
"Thank you for your hospitality and help, I have to excuse myself now." He bowed slightly to them before turning around to leave.
"Hey, what are you going to do with (Y/n)?" Asked Hellboy, Nuada shrugged.
"I think I will just do my best to avoid her." He said almost nonchalantly but the hurt is in his eyes. "The last thing I want is to make her relive her nightmare."
He started walking away contemplating what he had just learned of you. His mind filled with memories from he first saw you, back when he was still trying to kill humans, he was filled with so much anger and hate. Maybe that's what caused her to fear him.
"Wait!" Called Liz pulling him out of his thoughts. He turned to face her.
"Next week there will be a party everyone will be there including (Y/n), take that chance in talking to her." Nuada looked at her with a raised brow.
"But she runs away at the mere sight of me." He reminded.
"But maybe she will be more confident knowing that we are around her and stay around." From her voice alone Nuada can tell that she as well wasn't sure about that idea but it was worth a try. He released a defeated sigh.
"Very well, I will be at that party." He said with a nod and thanked them again before exiting the room.
---
When Liz told him that there will be a party he expected people in fancy attire, a dance floor with couples waltzing, And the air filled with classic music. He did not expect the disaster he saw. The room was flashing with colorful, blinding lights, the music was too loud and disturbing that he can even hear his thoughts. The humans wearing ragged clothes calling it "Fashionable", making him regret wearing his formal wear not because he stuck out but because he thought they don't deserve seeing him at his best look. And lastly, their dancing, it made Nuada's spine with how they were all rubbing at each other as if they were an animal in heat. He shook his head and cleared his thoughts ignoring everything around him. He reminded himself that him coming here and wearing his best wasn't for the humans' sake. It was for him to get a chance at impressing the human named (Y/n). He scanned the room frowning at the sight of anything that displeased him, he tried finding The demon and his spouse, he wanted to confirm that they are there for him when he did decide to talk to (Y/n).
Nuada froze and his eyes widened when his eyes fill on none other than her and he was taken it back with what he saw. He saw your smile before, a beautiful smile that warmed his heart and made him smile unconsciously. But wasn't prepared to see how radiating you were tonight. Your (H/c) hair was styled in a way that showed you face and wore a beautiful knee-length (F/c) dress, it was off-shoulder with sleeves that reached your elbows, the upper part hugged your waist and the lower part flowed making you look elegant. Seeing you made him glad that he did wear formally. He couldn't take his eyes from you, you were talking to other agents and laughing at whatever they were saying making him feel a little jealous that he wasn't the cause of that smile. He didn't know for how long he was staring at your direction but he was snapped back to reality when he saw your friends leave you to dance.
He looked around him one last time hooping to spot either Hellboy or Liz but he saw no one, with a huff he decided that he couldn't wait anymore. He marched up to you avoiding the humans that didn't notice him walk by, he followed you to the table with the beverages and when he finally was close enough he realized that he didn't know what to say. But it was too late and to make it worst the deafening music died down, playing soft music. Biting the inside of his check he mustered up the courage to walk closer and took a deep calming breath. Your back was to him so he coughed lightly to catch your attention. You jumped at that.
"Oh sorry!... I didn't mean to hog the drinks I will move right now-" Your words stopped when you turned around and saw him.
He could see how your eyes widened in horror, but he still tried to give a charming smile, and before he could say anything you spoke first.
"Sorry." You muttered before trying to move away and escape his presence.
"Please wait!" He called not liking how desperate it came out but in a way grateful because you stopped and turned to him.
"Yes?" You said still clenching your cup nervously. Nuada noticed how tense you are.
"Did you read anything interesting?" He asked and when the question left his lips he wanted to punch himself in the face from how stupid the question was. Why am I nervous?
"Excuse me?" You asked confused making your shoulder slump slightly losing previous tension.
"Hmm… My sister told me a lot about how the two of you would spend most of your time together reading." He explained. You gave him an odd look.
"You… told Nuala to spy on me?" You asked almost panicking, Nuada's eyes widened at your accusation.
"What?..No…I…" He struggled. "I .. I might have asked her to tell me about you… But not spying!"
The more Nuada tried to explain the more intimidated you looked by him.
"I should have waited for Hellboy."
"Good evening (Y/n)." A familiar voice called, and when they both turned they saw Nuala in a blue dress smiling at them both.
"Hey, Nuala." You greeted back awkwardly. She came forward standing between both of you.
"What were you talking about?" She asked innocently that Nuada didn't fall to unlike you, he knew his sister is here with a purpose.
"We were… walking about how … Nuada… asked you to.. spy?... on me?" You answered questioning her if that was true. Nuala laughed lightly.
"He never asked me to spy on you silly." She replied Nuada gave his sister an odd look.
"He didn't?"
"No, of course not." She said causing both you and Nuada to let out a sigh of relief that the misunderstanding was cleared.
"But he always asking me about you." That made Nuada tense and stare at his sister with wide eyes, and he wasn’t the only one as.
"H..He does?" You stuttered. Nuada saw how tense you were being again, and he was ready to turn around, giving up on the whole ordeal, but his sister wrapped her arm around his forbidding him from leaving.
"Yes." She answered with a smile. "My brother found you interesting and wished to know more about you, but unfortunately there never seems to be enough time or the right place, thus seeking me for answers."
"Oh… hmm…" You blushed in embarrassment because you knew you were avoiding him on purpose, but you didn't know that they already knew. "I'm… sorry, your… your highness?..."
"Please stop." He said when he saw you attempting a bow. "And call by my name Nuada, I am sorry for not introducing myself properly."
"No it's alright, I already know your name we work together after all." You quickly reassured him.
"I'm Glad." Nuada was relieved to see you attempting a smile, causing him to smile.
Although the tension between the two of you was still there, Nuala was the one to bring topics to discuss between you. She would bring something about her brother that she knew would interest (Y/n) and she would do the same thing with her brother for (Y/n). As the conversation was going smoothly Nuala started to pull herself away when seeing how engrossed the two of you become with each other without you two noticing. She had seen her how her brother was staring at you, and when she witnessed his failed attempt to talking to you she decided to come forward and save him.
Nuala glanced over her shoulder and saw how you were talking excitedly with a smile while her brother listened to you with pure interest. She could tell that something was going to blossom between the two of you and she can't wait for it to be.
---
"Sorry for forcing you to say with me (Y/n) I knew how you wanted to go on that mission." Said Liz as she was rocking the bundle in her arm.
"Don't say that Lizzy, I love spending time with you and the twins and besides…" You avoided the fire that the baby you were carrying burped making you laugh. "Helping you take care of these two is a mission itself."
Hellboy, abe, and Nuada on a mission leaving you with Liz and Nuala, you could have gone with them but when you saw how Liz and Nuala were struggling with the twins recently you decided to stay and give a helping hand. Nuala comes beside you and reached out to rub the little red plump cheek causing them to smile and for the both of you to go "Awww" over how cute they looked. You looked back at Liz.
"I'm always ready to help with them." You said with a smile.
"This one is gonna need to change soon." Said Nuala calmly. Your eyes slightly widened and your smile became weary.
"Ok, maybe not …one-hundred percent there..."
That made the two girls laugh as you handed the child to Nuala and kept your distance. Just then the heavy door of the room opened slowly signaling that they have returned. You turned and saw Hellboy, abe, and Nuada, your eyes softened at the sight of the Elven prince and when his eyes fell on you, you shared a knowing look.
"Where is my family." Called Hellboy as he rushed to his wife and children. Abraham went for Nuala, and Nuada stood between you and his sister.
Although he was keeping a calm façad you could feel his eyes staring at you, and you glanced up at him when your eyes met again he smiled at you and you smiled back trying not to blush heavily. You had to avert your eyes so no one would notice you.
"How was your mission?" Asked Liz breaking you out from whatever you were lost in.
"It was easy." Said Red not breaking his play with his kids. "I finished as fast as I can to come back here."
"Well, I think I will have to excuse myself." You said with a smile, Hellboy snapped his head up at you.
"Where are you going we just got here."
"Red leave her, she has been helping me none stop with the kids she probably wants to rest." Said Liz with a warning look. He nodded his head and looked back to you.
"Thanks (Y/n) you can go if you want." He smiled at you and you smiled back with a nod.
"It's alright Red, good night everyone." You said and they all replied.
But before you left you tucked your hair behind your ear and Hellboy's eyes widened at what he saw. There was a bruise in your neck.
"Stop." He commanded causing you to freeze. He layed his child gently down before marching up to you. He was focused on you that he didn't notice Nuada's hard stare. He stopped in front of you and pointed at your neck. "What is that?"
"What?" You instinctively reached for your neck.
"There is a bruise!" He said almost too loudly.
He could see the panic in your eyes but that was the only thing he was focused on because if he wasn't so filled with rage he would have noticed your heavy blush. His eyes narrowed at the bruise.
"Is someone hurting you again?" He asked but he didn't wait for your answer for the moment your eyes quickly glanced at Nuada then back at him he turned to the Elven prince. "You!?"
He marched to him and was about to reach for the prince's neck before you came between them protecting Nuada.
"Move aside (Y/n), so I can snap his neck." He ordered still glaring at the elf who was staring at you with awe.
"No Red, Nuada didn't do anything." You defended.
"You can't lie to me!... He caused that bruise." Exclaimed Hellboy while pointing at the "Bruise".
"He didn't!... I..I mean… H.. he did but..." You stammered.
"But what?!"
"It's not a bruise!"
"Then what is it!?
"It's Hecky!" You finally screamed out with your face beat red and eyes shut.
You can feel how the room became dead silence except for the twin's whimpering. You felt a hand on your shoulder and when you looked around you saw Nuada giving your shoulder a reassuring squeeze that he was with you, which you smiled at. When you turned to look back to the rest you saw that shocked look of everyone especially Red's.
"A…Hecky?" Repeated Hellboy still not believing what he just heard. You looked away embarrassed.
"Y..Yeah.."
"…With him?" Asked Hellboy as he pointed at Nuada.
"Y..Y...Yeah." You bit your lower lip nervously. "We have been… meeting "
"I knew it!" Exclaimed Liz joyfully.
"It was about time you finally tell us." Said abe with a grin that matched Nuala's. Hellboy looked confused at everyone in the room.
"Am I the only one who didn't know!?" He questioned, His eyes widened as he watched Nuada wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his face in your neck.
"It was obvious Red." Said Liz with an eye roll. "They always eat together."
"Talk every day for hours an end, only separated when they are forced too." Continued abe.
"Disappear together, and show up together." Finished Nuala with wink making you blush.
Hellboy looked at you almost hurt. You gently pushed yourself away from Nuada who let go willingly.
"Why didn't you tell me kiddo?" He asked.
"I.. was afraid you would overreact…because of… what happened last time." You answered looking down.
There was a pause before you felt his stone hand petting your head ruffling your hair in the process. When you looked up you saw a soft smile.
"Don't be afraid kiddo." He informed. "I can understand your fear of telling me, and to be honest I would have reacted the same way even if you did tell me eventually."
You giggled at that.
"…But to see you finally truly happy makes me happy, and if that happiness is from princy here then it's alright. At least he treats you like a gentleman…" Hellboy then leaned down and whispered. "He does treat you like a gentleman doesn't he?"
You laughed at his question pushing him away playfully.
"Of course he does." You said before wrapping your arms around Hellboy pulling him for a hug. "Thanks, Red, for everything."
"No problem." He returned the hug. And when you pulled away he gently pushed you aside to stand before Nuada who looked unfazed. He pointed a stone finger o his face.
"If you hurt her in any way I will break your bones." He said threateningly.
"Red!" Exclaimed Abraham panicking.
"It alright, I will allow it." Said Nuala calmly with a smile.
"Nuala!" Exclaimed Abe at her, which made everyone laugh at him.
It wasn't long before everyone departed to their rooms and instead of waiting until you were alone, you were happy to leave while holding your lover's hand. You sighed exhaustedly.
"That was scary." You said.
"It honestly went better than I expected." Replied Nuada as he let go of your hand to wrap his arm around you to bring you closer, you chuckled.
"I thought he would end up chasing you around, trying to kill you."
"I believe if you didn't intervene he would have"
Both of you shared a laugh as you continued your walk to your room. when you got closer you could feel Nuada's hands travel down your body that his hand now rested on your hip, causing a shiver to travel down your spine and your face to slightly flush. He leaned over that he was close to your ear and whispered heatedly.
"May I spend the night again with you?"
Your heart was beating fast at this part. Every night since you started being intimate he would ask for your consent first before he could go any further, it was thoughtful of him to ask first you thought but it was still very embarrassing. Nuada of course would stop if you said "No"…But you honestly never could. You looked up to him from your lashed while biting your lower lip.
"You may."
At your answer, his hand squeezed your hip gently and his eyes stared at you in a predatory way that made your body shiver with excitement.
Correction, you never Want to say "No" to him.

mischiefandnightmares:
Prince’s pace quickened as he moved from the rooftops to the market floor. It would be a little trickier to keep a low profile, however he was sure that as long as he was cautious he could remain unseen.
He kept a safe distance, watching. Waiting to see what reason she would have for being here. Although the long her followed her, the more certain he was that she had sensed him following her. One way or the other he would have to find out why she was here.
Unfortunately for Nuada, Crystallin really was only shopping today. She also liked to collect her own gossip, and stopped to chat with many people as she went along, but there was nothing more exciting than fresh lotus milk. Why not try it if it was here after all. It might not have been strictly Underground but it had traveled a long way as an imported good anyway; Crystallin was quite excited about that find.
Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling and by the end of her trip to the market, Crystallin was quite sure someone was in fact following her.
