What is something you wish Vision understood?
{out of equations} I would want him to understand that not everyone is as tolerant, forgiving, caring, or accepting as he is. I think he knows that, but on some level I feel like he always assumes the best from people and gets burned for it. For example, trusting in the Accords to be perfectly fair and legal, while not understanding the politics and divisive agenda and motivations behind why/how it could be used unethically. Or, trusting in Tony that Wanda's incarceration wouldn't happen, and then once it did, that it would only be temporary. Sometimes Vision is too trusting and gives too much benefit of the doubt to people. I'd want him to understand that... look, I know he wants the world and the people in it to be different, but that fact is that there are many people who are out for themselves and who are cruel for no other reason than they want to be. He needs to understand that and take that into account. It's wonderful to be an idealist, but he needs to also be practical and safe as well.

“Vision, would you like to go on a vacation? We could go visit Europe?”
Vision's eyes lit up immediately with excitement at Wanda's suggestion. "I think that's a wonderful idea. It would do us some good, I think, to spend some time together. Just the two of us." He smiled warmly at her as he took her hand and gave it an affectionate squeeze. "Where would you like to go? Anywhere in particular?" he asked, ready and willing to go wherever Wanda suggested, since it was all new to him.

“So my brother happens to be dating your colleague. How odd. He is not the type to love humans. Alas, I must confess… I find you… intriguing.” (Nuala; @mxrvelouscreations

"Is he? Which one?" Vision asked with great curiosity, though he frowned when Nuala said her brother wasn't the type to love humans. "Oh? Why is that?" he began to ask, but then she said she found him... intriguing. Wait... alas? "Oh, I am not human myself. So if it is due to some religious, cultural, or otherwise legal restriction among your people to not form relationships with human beings, then I... I do not qualify as one anyway," he said with a sheepish smile. "What about me... do you find intriguing? I-If you do not mind my asking."

Vision liked that Mantis was seemingly okay with him asking so many questions and analyzing things. It was his nature to be very curious, and he loved learning new things, so whenever something didn't make sense or he knew very little about it, his mind craved an explanation. Not everyone was so tolerant of his desire to constantly get to the bottom of things, or as enthusiastic about the thought-provoking journey to arrive at an explanation, even if none was ever truly found.
"Precisely. If you were to attempt to care for this creature in space, traveling from planet to planet, as you say... I imagine it would cause a great deal of distress to the creature. Because, indeed, how can one determine what midnight is when time is so relative a concept?" he asked. It was meant to be theoretical, of curse. He was simply enjoying the discussion. "And that assumes that the creature is a reliable source of information. What if it is lying? What if it is so hungry that it does not care what time it is?"
Vision listened with great interest as Mantis began talking about the sun of this galaxy, and others, and whether the presence of light played a role in the creature's feeding cycle. "Oh, that is an interesting point. I hadn't considered whether it is the span of time between feedings that is most important, or the presence or absence of light which indicates to the creature that it is time to feed. I wonder... You are correct, though, the... presence of more than one sun providing multiple sources of light could negate the presence of the dark side of any given planet, essentially causing... eternal day. In that scenario, when would the proper feeding time for the creature be? I wonder."
"Oh, I... I do not know. Perhaps they will show us?" Vision said, blinking as he looked back at the TV. "There must be some extraordinary consequences, if there are established rules for the creature's health. Perhaps food is toxic during certain hours?" Vision hoped nothing bad would happen to little Gizmo. He was beginning to like him very much.
There was a lot about this movie Vision didn't understand, but he also didn't want to annoy Mantis by talking through the entire movie. When she began to speak up first, however, he assumed that she was alright with real-time analyses and decided to chime in with his own thoughts.
"I do not know, but I suspect we may find out by the movie's end," Vision said, his expression displaying his own confusion. "Perhaps that is where the... horror aspect comes into play." He, too, did not understand why feeding something past midnight would be such a bad thing, but the consequences of not following this rule weren't what bothered him so much. No, it was the very rule itself that did.
"What confuses me is the very premise of not feeding someone after midnight in the first place. Midnight... is a very subjective term. When it is midnight here, it is not so in other time zones of the Earth. And when it is midnight within any time zone of the Earth, that may not coincide with midnight at any other given location on other planets, as I am certain you, as an experienced space traveler, can attest to," Vision reasoned. "And so... how does the creature, the... mogwai, as it were... know what time zone it is currently located in, and how it is able to convey that knowledge to its own physiology?"
Oh, but Vision was not yet finished. "Also, I find the lack of a closing parenthetical counterpart to the feeding restriction to be rather frustrating. What I mean is... the rule is to not feed the creature after midnight. Aright, very well then, when can I feed them? At what point after the stroke of midnight is it once again acceptable to feed the creature? I feel that information ought to have been provided, since the little creatures are clearly dependent somewhat and are in need of food. They seem very hungry to me, in fact."
"In addition, in theory, once midnight occurs, every subsequent time afterward is after some instance of midnight, is it not? Take right now, for example. This particular point in time is already after twelve o' clock this morning, otherwise known as midnight last night. Is it acceptable to feed the creature right now because it is before tonight's instance of midnight, or unacceptable because it is after last night's instance of midnight? Further clarification is absolutely needed on this point."
Vision looked over at Mantis who was no doubt attempting to follow what he was saying. He smiled sheepishly. "Pardon me, I... I sometimes tend to overanalyze," he said. Vision then took the popcorn she was offering. "Thank you." He did enjoy the smell, and he endeavored to taste some of it, in an attempt to analyze the chemicals involved with the aroma as well as the taste. These were things necessary for him to do if he was going to develop his olfactory and taste senses along with his digestive system.

{out of paprikash} I was supposed to come out of hiatus today (12/14), but I've decided to give my MCU muses a wee break. The good news is, my classes have been wrapped up and grades are all in, so I'm off work until 1/21! The bad news is that it's been a very long week and I'm feeling tired and run down. My MCU muses have been a little quiet lately, and most of my muse is elsewhere atm, so I'd like to do some more writing over on @tarnishedxknight this weekend instead. Next weekend (12/21) I'll write my other group of Sat muses, and then the following Sat (12/28) I'll be back here. Sorry for the wait on replies, but sometimes you just need a break, you know? Thank you for your understanding, and I'll definitely be back on the 28th!

"Witches cannot make use of glitter? Forgive me, I am not very well versed with regard to the laws of glitter usage by different magically inclined groups," Vision said, as if he was discussing something as complex as quantum physics. "Some other adequate source of whimsical illumination, then. Regardless, you are radiant, Wanda, with or without... glitter."
To him, though, she was as harmless and as cute as something glittery. Never had Vision ever feared Wanda or what she was capable of with her magic. He knew the person she was inside, the heart underneath all the stress of everything that had happened to her, and she would always be someone he loved and trusted with his life and his whole heart.
Vision smiled as he watched Wanda reacting to his unfiltered, uncensored emotions as she gleaned them from him. This was love in its purest form. Complete trust and openness, and an unselfish need to make her feel valued and appreciated. "Oh, I have some idea when I look into your eyes. And the joy I feel at seeing you react to me... is more than enough for me," he said, lifting his hand to her cheek and searching her beautiful gaze for that soul he loved. "We really are hopeless romantics for each other, aren't we...?" he whispered. "I wouldn't change a thing about that for an instant.
[hovers several inches so she can kiss his cheek]
Vision smiled brightly to have Wanda hover up to kiss him, the mind stone's glow intensifying for a moment afterward. "To what do I owe this... uplifting show of affection, my love?" he asked, laying a gentle hand against her cheek.

"Well... having never visited any other planets but this one, I'm afraid I am a poor judge of Earth's quality over that of others, but I will say that what I have seen and experienced thus far has been exceptional," Vision said. Then again, he loved to learn and was amazed by the smallest of things, being a fairly new being, and so just about any planet was bound to amaze him to some extent.
As they settled in to watch the movie, Vision was very engrossed in it, right from the start. "Adorable little creature, isn't he?" he said of Gizmo. At Mantis' comment regarding the boy pursuing Gizmo's sale further, Vision nodded. "Yes, he is very business savvy, but unwise. The juxtaposition of youth verses age and impulsivity verses prudence is clear in the storytelling here. Almost reminiscent of the beginnings of a fable."
"Oh, dear. This is not going to proceed well at all, is it...?" Vision mused as the man walked off with Gizmo, having paid the grandson for him. "Hmm... I believe I can already see the potential life lessons that are being set up within this cautionary tale. Ones such as respect your elders... and... to not place wealth above all else. I hope nothing ill befalls the little creature, though. I am becoming rather attached to him."

{out of paprikash} Alright guys, that's all I can do for now. I need to call it for tonight and get some sleep. I should be back as scheduled on 11/30, but it's around Thanksgiving and my birthday, so I'm not sure what my schedule for that weekend is going to be yet. Right now, I intend to be back on the 30th, but if that changes, I'll let everyone know. Goodnight! =)

Vision, what are your thoughts on Nuala?
@mxrvelouscreations
"I like Nuala very much," Vision said rather cheerfully. "She is very engaging to converse with and has a unique outlook on life. At least one that is difference from my own, that is." He smiled then. "I enjoy her company, and I would like to think that she enjoys mine as well, though I... I have not actually asked her."

I hope nothing ill befalls the little creature, though. I am becoming rather attached to him."
Vision was still in the process of developing a digestive system and could not yet process foods. If he ate them, they would simply get stuck inside him and have nowhere to go and no way of being properly broken down. It was a slow process, to rearrange his internal anatomy and set up the necessary physical and chemical pathways needed to process foods, but with the help of anatomy, biology, and chemistry textbooks and resources online, he was getting there, little by little. He was, however, able to develop it enough thus far to process most liquids. Tea was a favorite of his.
His olfactory taste senses had been a bit easier to develop, since fewer biological structures were involved. He smiled as Mantis began happily munching on the popcorn, able to smell its buttery aroma. "I like the scent of popcorn very much," he shared. "It is a very pleasing scent, I think.
"Oh," Vision said, blinking. "Then we really ought to watch this one, so that you and Star-Lord can discuss it together." Because Vision was learning that experiences in life were not only about personal enjoyment, but also about sharing them with others. It was about the connection, the shared experiences. Like the one he was attempting to have with Mantis right now. "Although... I fail to see how fuzzy, diminutive, endearing creatures would lend themselves to a horror film, but as you said, we shall see."
As he selected the little Gremlins icon, a new screen appeared with a larger picture of one of the titular gremlins. Vision frowned. "Oh dear. That creature is neither fuzzy nor endearing. I suppose we will have to find out what its story is..." He clicked again and the movie started. Soon they were plunged into the beginning of the movie, with Billy's father trying to buy Gizmo from the curio shop in Chinatown...

Vision leaned into Wanda's touch, a soft smile on his face as he turned his head to nuzzle her hand. He could feel her magic swirling around him, like a pleasant sort of static electricity sensation. It was a comforting feeling for him, because he associated it with her, with the woman he loved more than any other in this world. "Yes, I agree. Something cheerful and bright to match the sight of your lovely little nose scrunch. A pleasant series of little bells, perhaps. The auditory equivalent of glitter."
As Wanda laid her hand over his chest, Vision fell silent and simply let her feel the depth and dedication of his love for her. Although some seemed unsettled by Wanda's ability to glean emotions and read thoughts, Vision rather liked it, especially with regard to himself. There were many times when he struggled to adequately represent how he felt with words, and so Wanda's ability to feel how he felt directly was perfect. "Nonsense," he whispered. "Each and every day, I feel loved and valued by you, Wanda. All I have to do is look in your eyes, and I know."

'Yes, I'm... I am sure he would have as well..." Vision said awkwardly. Imagine having someone like Thanos as your father. He felt badly for her, but at the same time, Vision was not about to speak ill of someone else's father, for her perspective about the sort of person Thanos was may have been different from how the rest of the world viewed him.
When she stretched her arm, Vision's expression changed to one of concern. "Are you alright?" He didn't know Nebula very well at all, but it looked to him as though she had some limbs that may have been attached separately. Not that he was judging, given that his entire body was synthetically made.
@purple-surgicalborg
"do you in a strange yet sweet way consider I and gamora siblings?"
@purple-surgicalborg
Vision blinked, confused. His head canted a little. "I thought that you were. At least... that is what I'd heard. Is that incorrect?"

Vision knew that Wanda's small smile was actually quite monumental with all that she'd suffered and had to live through of late. He knew she was grieving and that she felt awkward and unsettled in a strange country. Certainly, she had plenty of reasons not to smile, so that fact that she had at his words made Vision feel very warm inside. He knew that Wanda needed someone with her, someone to help support her and see her through these next difficult weeks and months ahead, and Vision wanted to be that person.
"Yes, I do mean it. We haven't known each other for very long, that is true, and yet... you have made an impression on me, Wanda. I am... emotionally invested in you, if you will," he explained. "I very much want to be there for you, if that is alright with you." He was so young yet, and his wording wasn't the most natural as far as most human beings might have thought it, but he was trying as best he could, both with expressing himself and being supportive of Wanda.
Protective Sentence Starters [notbigondoors] “ i’ll always be here for you. ”
@notbigondoors
Wanda's smile might not have been a big one, but it was there. She had been having a hard time as of late, coming to a new country, being surrounded by new people - people that up until recently she had viewed as the enemy. It was going to take a lot of getting used to and the person that she always had there with her to keep her from spiralling was gone. So she was grateful that Vision had stepped in, had offered to be there for her when she felt that she had no one.
"You mean that? Even if we haven't known each other all that long?"
