My part of "An Interview with Alex Hirsch" just surpassed 100K views! I'm still really thankful to all of you for watching it and continuing to share it. Crazy it's been over a year since it came out and nearly 2 years since the interview itself. Even now I still can't believe it happened. I used to always imagine what it would be like to have even a moment to ask Alex Hirsch anything about Gravity Falls and to have gotten the chance to do that was beyond belief. I'm also grateful to have done it with someone as amazing as @fordtato.

And speaking of Hana, their part of the interview is nearing 75K views. If you have not yet seen their part of it for some reason, WATCH IT (and sub to Hana)!! Couldn't have done it without them (literally...I didn't even know Zoom had a 40 minute call limit on free accounts so had they not been part of it, the interview would've ended after 40 minutes, lmao).

Announcement: The Crimson Pact

Hey guys! Not an update but chapter 4 is being worked on. I wanted to make an important announcement regarding the fic. My Artist brain decided to fuck with my Writer Brain and in result I have:

Rewritten Part 1 and Part 2 of The Crimson Pact.

Not the story itself- all events remain the same. It's more of the writing. I kept reading back on it and decided I wanted it to echo more of the storytelling and tone of Part 3. It's much more detailed now, with better reactions, internal monologue, and storytelling imo. I wanted it to be more immersive, and so I've re-written majority of Part 1 and some parts of Part 2!

Do I recommend re-reading it? - The answer is Yes. I feel like the overall experience of the fic now has changed to be much more descriptive and punchy (to the gut) with the feelings all the characters experience. So I definitely recommend it!

Thank you to everyone commenting and reading the fic! I plan to cross-post to AO3 as soon as I finish Part 4! :)

hey guys <3

i’ve been thinking a lot about this lately and i think i’ve made the decision to stop using a scheduled upload day for KMS.

don’t worry, this isn’t a break or anything like that. chapters will still come, but just when they’re ready. maybe still every week, maybe every two weeks, maybe a little sooner, maybe a bit later – depending on how i feel.

i’ll still kinda aim for sundays, just because i like having that soft goal in mind, but if it ends up being earlier or later, so be it. i just wanna give myself that freedom.

and just fyi, i DON'T feel pressured by anyone. i actually love sharing this story weekly with you. it’s just that i’ve noticed how much time i spend during the week making sure a new chapter is done by sunday, and I end up putting a lot of pressure on myself.

i know i’ve said before that i kind of need that pressure to properly sit down and write but right now, i just really wanna give myself a bit more room.

and the main reason for this decision is also that i have other wips i’d love to work on too, and it’s been bothering me that i’ve been neglecting them because i’ve been so focused on KMS.

so yeah. this is just me letting you know that i'm changing my posting rhythm, NOT ending KMS or stuff like that.

i totally understand if some of you might feel a little disappointed about this. i do know that many of you have been looking forward to new chapters every sunday, and honestly that means the world to me. maybe it’ll still end up being weekly updates, who knows. but as some of you have probably noticed, the last few chapters have already been delayed by a couple days here and there.

so thank you. for sticking around, for being kind, for supporting me and this series. it really means everything and i hope you guys can understand <3

with that being said, i kindly ask everyone to be patient and please avoid asking when new updates will be dropping. i completely get the curiosity and excitement but stuff like that just stresses me out a little <3 i’ll try to give a heads-up whenever i have a post planned, though i can’t always promise it.

Back to work + some changes

Hey all, I'm back from my break, and slowly but surely getting back up to speed and back to normal.

My Art Store is now open again, and I am back to working on Ko-fi Requests again!

I am also back to running my Sticker Club again, which has gone through some (relatively minor) changes since I've been gone, more info below the cut:

For current Sticker Club members: I am in the process of sending out all of the owed rewards since I put the Sticker Club on hold around mid-May. I aim to get all of the currently owed rewards for May (for those who have not yet received your May rewards) + June sent out by the end of this week, and I will be messaging everyone on ko-fi to let you know when they have been posted. Thank you SO much everyone for your patience.

There have been some small changes I've had to make to the Sticker Club while I've been gone:

Glow-in-the-dark Stickers have now been replaced with Holographic Stickers (of the same size as previously) starting from June. This isn't a change I really wanted to make, but unfortunately the supplier I used to use for the glow in the dark materials has discontinued them, and the only other supplier I've found that makes a similar type of material charges twice as much, which is completely unaffordable for me (I would have to make the cost of the Sticker Club significantly higher to make this possible).

I am also changing the way I send out rewards. While I previously posted physical rewards within 3 days of a subscription renewing, I am now posting ALL rewards for ALL members after the end of the month. This makes the entire process a lot easier for me to manage, and a lot less confusing! This means that, for example, I will be posting ALL rewards for July, regardless of when everyone's individual subscriptions renew, around the 1st-3rd of August.

I am no longer sending out discount codes via DM, this is again to make things more manageable and less confusing for me. You will still receive your monthly discount code written down together with your physical rewards via post.

Hello everyone, Lazy month here again. I know that I told you guys about taking a long break for couple of weeks, but things seem to get rough than I thought. Especially, since now I need to prepare for getting into university, making Portfolio, exams etc. all the time I have left for all of this is only around 2-3 months, which put me into very busy situations…

I hope you guys understand that this is why TFE blog and @tfe-the-wheel-of-envy blog are go fully hiatus in this phase, maybe until I can finally put things together, which this might last to the next year. So sorry for everyone who’s waiting the blog to open again, but I hope you guys are still sticking around, I promise that after the situation is better, I’ll be back for open the blog. But for now, I need to focus on my life first.

What is Jason Todd-centric Exchange?

Jason Todd-centric Exchange is a gift exchange dedicated to fanfic, fanart, and other fanworks focused on the DCU character Jason Todd. Participants create a gift for another fan and receive a gift in return.

Schedule

Nominations: July 5th - July 12th

Sign-ups: July 14th - July 21st

Assignments out: July 23rd

Works due: September 22nd

Works revealed: September 29th

Authors revealed: October 6th

All deadlines are at 22:00 UTC.

Can I participate?

You must have an AO3 account and be 18 or older to participate, as the exchange is carried out through AO3 and the requests may include content not suitable for minors.

Where do I sign-up?

Signups will start on July 14th and will be through AO3.

What are the requirements for gifted fanworks?

Participants must create a new, complete story in English that is at least 2000 words long or a piece of artwork that is at least a clean finished colored line art on unlined paper. For other types of fanwork (such as crocheting instructions, web weaves, original songs, etc.), minimum requirements will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the mods.

Each work must match the recipient’s requested combination of fandom, work medium (fanfic, fanart or other), rating, archive warning, relationship/character, and an additional tag and respect their DNWs. 

Your gift may have only one recipient.

Please do not post about your assignment in public/semi-public spaces before creator reveals.

AI-generated fanworks are not allowed.

What am I allowed to request and offer?

We welcome any and all kinds of requests and offers centered around Jason Todd.

Requests can have any rating, including explicit, use any archive warnings, and include any type of relationship or no relationship at all. The event is ship friendly - all ships are welcome. Crossovers are also allowed. 

You must have 3-5 requests. Each request can have any ratings, any archive warnings, 1 fandom, 1-10 relationships/characters, 1-3 mediums (fanart, fanfic, and other), and 1-10 freeform tags.

Please make sure you add unwanted tropes, characters and/or relationships to your ‘DNW’ list. A DNW is a thing you Do Not Want to get in a fic. All DNWs must be included in the optional details of the request in order to be enforceable. DNWs should be clear, free of judgement, and not box your creator in or be in conflict with the request.

You must have 1-5 offers. Each offer can have any ratings, any archive warnings, 1 fandom, 1-10 relationships/characters, 1-3 mediums (fanart, fanfic, and other), and 1-10 freeform tags.

If your offers are unmatchable you’ll be contacted after signups close and asked if you wish to drop out or add more offers. 

Make sure that the email address linked to your AO3 account is working and remember to check your AO3 email during the exchange.

Do I need to create a fanwork for every request my recipient makes? What if I don’t like one of them?

No, you only need to fulfill one request from your recipient.

When you make offers during sign-ups, you're selecting what you're genuinely willing to create. If you’re matched to a recipient, it means there’s at least one overlap between their request and your offer.

If you're assigned a recipient, it means that one of your offers matches with a full combination (1 fandom, 1 medium, 1 character or relationship, 1 archive warning, 1 rating, 1 freeform tag) from one of their requests. You are only expected to create a fanwork based on that specific combination.

If you later find that you can't complete the assignment, for example, because the recipient’s additional details describe a take on Jason that’s incompatible with how you interpret him, you can always default. There’s no penalty for defaulting, and you’re welcome to later pick up a different unclaimed request as a pinch hit.

You can also look at previous years’ requests (linked on the exchange blog) to get an idea of what to expect.

Are treats allowed (giving/receiving)?

Yes! 

What are treats?

Treats are extra fanworks created for participants or the collection that are not assigned as part of the main exchange. They can be based on someone’s requests or simply inspired by the tag set.

Anyone can create a treat, even if they didn’t sign up for the exchange. There is no minimum word count for treats.

Sometimes people don't want to receive treats but by signing up for this exchange you're agreeing to the possibility of receiving them.

What is a nomination period? Why do we need to nominate tags?

The nomination period is the time when participants suggest tags to be included in the exchange's tag set, the list of available fandoms, characters/relationships, and freeform tags that can be requested or offered during sign-ups.

For example, if you want to receive a fic focused on Dick & Jason sibling bonding, you'd nominate the relationship tag Dick Grayson & Jason Todd and the freeform tag Sibling Bonding. If a tag is not in the tag set once nominations close, it cannot be requested in the exchange.

Nominations keep the exchange organized by ensuring that requests and offers reflect what participants are actually interested in. They also streamline the matching process by reducing the number of potential tag combinations. Additionally, they ensure correct fandom tagging and prevent confusion when the same pairing appears in multiple fandoms (e.g. Slade Wilson/Jason Todd (Arkham Games) and Slade Wilson/Jason Todd (DCU Comics)).

How do I contact the recipient of my gift if I have any questions?

If you need clarification about your recipient’s request, do not contact them directly.

Instead, message the mods and we will pass along your question. This helps preserve anonymity and keeps the process smooth and organized for everyone involved.

What if I can’t finish on time?

If you cannot complete your assignment, hit the “default” button on your assignments page on AO3. Please try to do it as early as possible, so your former assignment can go out for pinch hit. There is no penalty for defaulting.

Pinch hits will be posted on this tumblr.

If both you and your creator default, your assignment will still be offered as a pinch hit. However, we will not delay reveals if you do not receive a gift.

If you are a no-show at deadline or turn in a placeholder instead of a completed work, you will be banned from participating in the exchange next year.

If you need additional time to finish your assignment, you may request a 3-day extension by messaging the mods before the deadline.

What are pinch hits?

Pinch hits are unassigned or reassigned requests that need someone to step in and fulfill them.

According to Fanlore: “In gift exchanges, especially in exchange fandom, each participant is due a fanwork from another participant. A pinch hit is a fanwork produced for a request that's in need of fulfilment either because there were no offers that matched to it or because the participant assigned the request defaulted. Moderators will call for pinch-hitters to ensure that every participant receives something.”

If you're interested in volunteering for pinch hits, keep an eye on the exchange Tumblr or Discord during the event!

When will the reveals happen?

Works will be revealed when everyone who fulfilled their assignment has a gift. Please leave kudos and comments on your gift(s). If you aren’t sure what to say, a simple “Thank you for the gift!” is fine.

Do I need to join the Discord server?

No, you don't need to join the Discord server to participate in the exchange. Sign-ups and assignments will be handled entirely through AO3, all relevant information will be posted on this blog.

That said, we do recommend joining the Discord, it's a great place to chat with fellow fans and take part in fun Jason-related discussions.

Hi guys! N and I talked last night and we are continuing our work on Reaper, but in the meantime…. we have decided we are going to slowly rewrite some of our original pieces and hopefully finish them!!

The quality of our writing has improved tenfold since we first began posting (over five years ago, holy shit🤯) and we love the concepts of the writing but we know we can do it better.

Fret not! We are not deleting the originals. We wil be keeping most of them up! We are going to edit them and post them in new posts (N+D’s Version).

We didn’t want any confusion happening if we post the new and improved versions. If you guys have questions feel free to shoot them to our inbox!

I am actively working on trying to finish some of the series I’ve left in limbo, so please know I have plans on both editing and finishing a lot of them. There are only a few I am undecided on revamping.
