i used to go live a lot with the triplets, but only on their account, so it would be fun to go live on mine.

i open instagram and click the live button, watching the stream fill with thousands of people

"holy shit that's a lot of people" i say with a nervous laugh

"uhh i guess i'll answer any questions anyone has! so feel free to ask anything!" i add, smiling

i read through the comments, lots of them asking where the triplets are

i can't help but notice seeing a few asking if me and chris are dating.

I'm still very much new here (I reached this point in like, one week), but so far I'm really enjoying not just the STORIES of HDG, but the feeling of having a shared universe in which they're being told.

So far the HDG community feels a lot like a bunch of trans girls sitting in a sandbox together. We all have the same sand and the same-ish bucket and shovel or whatever, but also everyone in the sandbox brings their own toys to play in this shared space. Anyone can come and go as they please, but it's always the same sandbox.

And you basically get this vibe that's like a cross between collaborative storytelling and parallel play, which is maybe the coolest feeling I've ever had about any "fandom" I've been a part of.

he gets an ft from your phone while he's eating breakfast and it's amy, who's not long home from school and who's currently wearing one of his t-shirts as a maxi dress (she's six but she's teeny tiny for her age) - matty's lowkey weepy about the outfit choice lmfao. and she's a wee darling, so she genuinely starts with a "hi daddy! how are you? i miss you :(( when are you coming home? what have you been doing when you're not at work singing?", and the two of them have a good catchup about work and school. matty gently reminds amy that "sweetheart, you and mummy are coming out to visit me at work and then we're all coming home together, yeah?", and she gets excited; he can tell she's been chomping at the bit to talk to him about something else, though, so he's like "anyway, munchkin, what else is new?", and amy's like "i'll show you i just need to find eloise". she takes your phone with her as she walks through the house shouting on the cat, and matty tries SO HARD not to laugh at that and the close-up view of her chin and nostrils he gets (his daughter fr). anyway - eloise is found, and amy shows him that she's managed to teach her to give a paw in the exact same way mayhem does. actually, she manages to get handshakes (well, amy calls them high fives lol) from the cat and the dog at the same time, and matty isn't sure whether to laugh at the sight, be deeply impressed that amy managed to get a cat to do that, or panic about the way amy's precariously balanced the phone on the edge of the couch. luckily though, you swoop in and stop the phone falling, and matty gets to talk to both of his girls!! he misses you both so much, but you send voice notes and vids every day even if you don't get a chance to call; we've already briefly spoken about sending daily fit checks, but you also send him selfies and pics of amy after her two front baby teeth have fallen out. matty honest to god tears up at how cute she looks and makes one of the pics his lockscreen immediately (his homescreen is one of you on your wedding day. he'll never change it, never ever). but his favourite amy vid of tour - well, of both his girls, actually - is the one of the first ever time eloise did her kneading bit on amy. your daughter had climbed into your bed one sunday morning, cat in tow, and eloise had lain on her little pyjama-covered stomach and started to move her paws and purr happily; the vid is a selfie cam one of you going "amy, tell daddy what eloise is doing", and amy - through uncontrollable giggles - is like "she's making biscuits of me! it tickles", then it just dissolves into the two of you laughing for like three straight minutes until eloise gets bored and goes to lie next to mayhem in his bed (which leads to a solid two minutes of you both going awwwwwwww at the two of them being besties). the giggling chorus is matty's favourite sound in the world, genuinely - his girls being so happy!! what's not to love - and he's trying to figure out a way to get it into the background of a song as we speak lmfao. bless him <3

Kel and Mari friendship headcanons.

Contrary to what Aubrey believed, Kel actually loved Mari just as much as she did, and saw her as an older sister figure.

To Kel’s eyes, Mari was a big sister mentor who taught him so much on different things, particularly about invertebrates, outer space, and how to healthily process negative thoughts and grief. As well as this, Mari was one of the first people to see how Kel’s parents favored Hero, and so helped to further encourage Kel’s own interests and also tell him he didn’t need others approvals to see value and be happy about the stuff he did.

As for Kel, he often saw just how stressed and how much of a perfectionist she was on certain things, (Particularly on the piano.) and would often try his best to encourage Mari, stating that it’s alright to make a few mistakes, he makes them all the time, and that just gives you the opportunity to improve upon them. After Mari got her bad leg, Kel would also help her out in carrying supplies for the groups picnics, and even help support her if she was having difficulty walking.

Before the whole “Bad leg” incident, Mari and Kel would often go big catching together, or play sports with Aubrey and occasionally Hero. After her injury, Kel would often catch bugs and show them to her, or encourage her to exercise healthily. (carrying weights, sit ups, stuff that didn’t heavily involve legs too much.)

I think their friendship is underrated. :)

Shout out to the localization team for knowing exactly what they are doing because I am personally thrilled to bits. I sure hope there is some, ahem, choice fic on the AO3 about Alice because goddamn.

Anyway, I am SUPER BAD at this game. Even on Easy, the controls just feel..... weird. When the game told me I'd unlocked a new combo, it did help me understand a bit that this is basically a fighting game with permanent hoard mode, but as someone who doesn't play fighting games, it's a steep learning curve.

Whatever, it's a big world, and there are AssCreed-style Prison Keeps that have to be taken over to progress the story.

The Core of every Prison Keep is an item emblematic of the Jail warden's power. For Alice, there's the first big magazine she made the cover of, her first designer dress, and her big CD. Ann is not thrilled with any of this, clearly seeing herself in Alice. It's easy to imagine that all of these Core items are things that Ann aspires to as well, and the reflection is clearly disheartening.

Again, this game makes the whole Inspirational Model thing work so much more than P5 original. I really feel for Ann here and I'm glad that rather than just a villain the cast isn't really connected to, there was effort here to make it feel more personal.

I really like the writing! It's good!

I've lurked on your PPG blog for so long and always loved everything about it: the fantastic art you make and reblog, your jokes and observations, your critiques of the awful reboot, and especially the way you truly "get" the og show and just love its weird quirkiness that most people overlook! I was too shy to like your posts or send any asks for a long time, but I'm a long time fan of your blog and I'm so glad you're still around :)

Anyway all my rambling aside, I wanted to share some rare, possibly unofficial PPG merch I found a while ago!

They're actually charms/pins you put through the holes of Crocs shoes to display them as you walk around, if you can believe it haha! I don't own Crocs nor plan on getting them, but I was so surprised and delighted when I saw these at a random little stall in the middle of a walkway at a mall near me that I couldn't help buying them. :) They're about an inch tall and really high quality too. I'm not sure what they're made out of but it's rather rubber-like and pretty thick! I have no clue if these or any of the other, more-modern-pop-culture charms they were selling were actually official, but if so it's interesting (and a pleasant surprise!) they used the og art style for them when so much merch uses the reboot art style (or a mix of both, which is even worse somehow).

I quite like the poses they picked for these too! I definitely recognize Bubbles' and Buttercup's being movie-era/post-season-4-era promo art, but Blossom's is a mystery to me! The style looks more like season-1-to-4 I think (just look how different her head:body ratio is compared to her sisters' lol), and I don't recognize the pose at all (but I *love* it, so much action/movement in it!) both of which surprised me! If you happen to know where it's from I'd love to know!

Buuuut if you bought them from one of the kinds of mall kiosks I'm imagining, and because Bubbles' one arm is miscolored, I would assume they're probably not legit... which is okay, I am 100% all for good quality bootlegs here. 😂 I swore that I had a better version, but this is the best I could find in my files:

...so it IS official art from somewhere, at least, and I swear I've seen it used on merch and stuff before. I reversed image searched for it and all I got was a link to this wiki page. There are pics with Bubbles and Buttercup that also have that shadow behind them, and yeah, they're definitely the S1-S4 designs (Bubbles is just ripped straight from that iconic pic of the three of them). Maybe these particular ones were images used on one of the CN websites at some point? No idea. It's definitely gotta be stock art from that era though.
