Following the story of James Singer, our barely established protagonist, throughout college, we quickly come to realise he is the ultimate cuck. In the first scene we see James’ mother and sister taking him to college in the car, where his sister Ashlee rips the fuck into him about being an antisocial nerd and “never talking to real people”: His mother sits and lets this happen which feels like the ultimate cuck move. James, an avid coder (because apparently that’s a hobby), is a bit of an arselick when it comes to his computer science teacher (which is his major at college). Within the first few scenes, we can see bumlicking in that James is the only student to have done the assignment that was “on the syllabus”, but not assigned.. which I’m pretty sure has never happened in the history of poor teaching.

For some reason, misogynist and classic shitbag, Lance (Noah Centineo’s character) is also majoring in Computer Science, despite clearly being awful at it and expressing no interest in it. Lance approaches coder James alongside his two meathead cronies (one of whom looks a bit like if Logan Paul gained 15kgs), about building a hook up app called Jungle, where there are conditions that prohibit women on the app asking the names of their male counterpart. The app eventually falls apart when James realises how misogynistic this concept is, and deletes it (alongside every other dating app, somehow) despite Lance’s offer for college funds to MIT, James’ dream college. Hannah, James’ love interest throughout the movie, comes to terms with the fact he made a horrendous app for money and forgives him. Quelle feminist <3

CAST: 7/10 I really struggle to understand how the fuck they managed to get Leigh-Allyn Baker to play James’ mum in this. What a downgrade from “Good Luck Charlie” Swiped is. Her performance was atrocious, but I can’t blame her when the script is something an alien might write when being forced to decipher what 2019 teen movies with a “message” are like. Noah Centineo, as always, contributed buttfuck nothing to this film, apart from one extra cancer cell that I did not need, nor want. I feel bad for Noah, actually, he constantly gets the same roles: smooth talking guy with quirky mannerisms and douchey friends. Watch any of his films and you will soon come to understand that, despite having played this same character in five different movies (Sierra Burgess is a Loser; To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before; Swiped; The Perfect Date; SPF-18), he still cannot act. A 7/10 for convincing any actors at all to be involved.

PLOT: 2/10 How does a film manage to be 1.5 hours and still establish no plot? Ask Ann Deborah Fishman, the director of this masterpiece of shit. The attempted a-plot of this film is obviously the creation of the app, which seems to only take James a week or so.. although the concept of time in this film is strewn by the fact I feel as though I suffered multiple strokes. The b-plot. or the sad excuse for this, would be James’ romantic interest in Hannah, a girl who is only ever seen reading. This relationship makes absolutely no sense at all; supposedly James and Hannah went to high school together and he embarrassed her by singing to her (har har his last name is Singer. Great use of foreshadowing) and therefore... breaking her trust forever? Ok babes. The dialogue between them is absolutely groundbreakingly shit, their conversations dryer than a witch’s coochie. Anyway, at the end of the film, James and Hannah make up and embrace..into a nice hug. A 2/10, as opposed to a 1, for having more than one plot. Kind of.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: 1/10 God how I wish I could directly insert the whole of this scene here, but sadly I cannot, so for now you will just have to take my word on how appalling the camerawork is. The lighting is an absolute state which makes this scene in particular look like it was shot on the back of an iphone5 by a film student. Just by this one shot you can tell how uncomfortable the whole movie is; she’s literally reading and walking which happens MULTIPLE TIMES in the movie and just makes everyone involved super uncomfortable. These subtitles tell an absolute story, too. This gets a 1/10 because I’m surprised there was an attempt to film this atrocity in the first place.

Moreover, I would absolutely recommend this film if you: want to kill an hour and a half to get closer to death, ORif you thrive on loosely tied together plots, poorly written characters with no depth and just alround cringe fests. 3.5/10

Dừng lại dọc đường ven biển, không người, có cái biển “Nguy hiểm cấm tắm”. Ngồi gốc cây, viết nhật ký, đọc Bắt trẻ đồng xanh. /Mình đã từng ngồi chốn bờ bụi như thế, lại còn đọc và viết, thật phi lý/.

Sau khi nghỉ việc ở Sài Gòn, chị đi bụi Đông Nam Á gần 6 tháng, cũng đã ở CS chán chê. /Bây giờ nhìn lại, mình thấy chị đúng là có tinh thần chia sẻ nguyên sơ nhất, không hề đòi hỏi gì ở surfer/ Chị kể vài thứ linh tinh về Lagi, khu Tân An, cảng, chợ, đồi Dương xóm mới... Mình đã quên sạch, chỉ nhớ một chi tiết, dân địa phương gọi thị trấn của mình là “La-di”, chứ không phải “La-ghi”, nghe đọc sai là biết dân xứ khác rồi.

Tối qua ngủ một mình ở phòng chị Ng.Anh. Chị mang cho mình cái đèn đọc sách. Có thức giấc vài đoạn lúc gần sáng, cửa sổ đập vào thành kêu cọt kẹt mà tưởng có ma. 7 giờ thì dậy, ra ngoài sân ngó nghiêng chút chút. Mẹ chị Ng.A mặt hơi nghiêm. Bác nấu súp rau củ (hạt sen, ngó sen, đậu xanh, cà rốt). Chị Ng.Anh thì ăn cơm gạo lứt với cá.

Rồi mình chạy ra ngoài cảng và chợ dòm thiên hạ xíu. Dọc đường, thấy nhiều nam giới chơi cờ và đánh bài. Hôm qua ở bến tàu mấy đứa con nít cũng hút thuốc phì phèo. Chị Ng.Anh nói “ở dưới Lagi hơi nhiều xì ke ma tuý tệ nạn” các thứ.

Rời nhà chị Ng.Anh lúc 7 giờ sáng. Chị cho 2 quả thanh long với mấy cục kẹo. Ba chị kiểm tra và siết thắng xe cho mình từ hồi nào không biết. Nếu là ba mình, chắc cũng sẽ làm vậy.

Tặng lại chị cuốn Đường về nhà vì chị cũng có dự định xuyên Việt bằng xe đạp.

Sau này có lần tụi mình liên lạc, chị nói đã đi, và đã về.

How to set up the WIZY version MFS MMA VR viewing

Did anyone buy the MY FIRST STORY MMA VR Version from WIZY?

Despite my apprehension, in the end I bought it after failing to secure a VIP ticket to watch HYDE’s Kuromisa Concert here in Malaysia ... hu...hu.

In case anyone else also bought it, I would like to share a “how-to” on setting it up. It was rather complicated for anyone who is not used to it. Me, for example ..... haha.

Feel free to ask me questions \(^^)/

IMPORTANT!

I advise using Chrome for the Google Translate function before proceeding because everything is in Japanese.

1. Set up an account with WIZY / Recochon Club

If you haven’t registered with WIZY, go back to the original MFS VR Project link.

Click the black button at the top right corner. It will take you to the Recochon Club website and then you can register yourself. Choose Tokyo as your prefecture if you already have a Japanese address with TENSO or BlackShip.

2. Open a separate Gmail account specially for your Japanese Google Play Store or iTunes account access

Why is this so?

As it turned out, the QUVE.lite smartphone APP to access the VR contents is only available in Japan!

WTF? I was shocked to find out.

You MUST NOT register your own country’s phone number on this Gmail because they will then know your country.

Note:

It’s OK to use your regular email for WIZY / Recochon Club though. I didn’t run into any problem with it.

3. For iPhone users

If you have an iPhone, set up your Japanese Apple ID. Refer to my tutorial here on how to set up a Japanese iTunes account.

You can then download the APP directly from the Japanese iOS App Store.

I must say that using TWO Apple IDs on an iOS device is a pain in the ass now that they have implemented 2-factor identification.

4. For Android users

You will need a VPN and set it to Japan to access the Japanese Google Play Store. I was using TunnelBear at the time but the Data is limited at 500MB per month. For the APP download, that’s enough though. I’m sure you can find a better and unlimited VPN App on Google Play Store. Make sure it includes Japan in its country list.

I switched my Google Play Store on my Samsung phone to the same Gmail address I set up to use my Japan iTunes/App Store. It might ask for “Payment Option”. I SKIPPED IT! I don’t know what would happen if I use my own country’s debit or credit card.

The Japanese Google Play Store for the QUVE.lite VR APP can be accessed through the link given by the QUVE website below:

The links to Japanese Google Play Store and iOS App Store are given at the bottom of the page at the above URL.

5. Use the same email you used for WIZY/Recochon to register on QUVE

QUVE gives a “how-to” page here.

You MUST use the same email address you used for WIZY/Recochon. That’s the strict instruction from Recochon Club.

Don’t screw up because you can only use the Code once.

After registration, QUVE will put it on your account’s Code List

6. Open the QUVE APP

Note that the MFS Cardboard Google VR Viewer would need to be paired with your device. You need to scan the QR Code on the corner of the Goggle.

For Android device, Google also would ask for you to download and set up a certain App or whatever setting for optimum function of the VR. Well, something like that. The phone will give instructions.

My iPhone5 doesn’t really work well because I keep having to pair it each time. What am I doing wrong? I don’t know about newer iPhones though. Or I simply am clueless about iOS LOL.

You will need to log in to the QUVE App to see the MFS listing. The instruction is on the QUVE “how-to” guide page.

After you have logged in, tap on the MFS listing and it will display the 3 video files 「終焉レクイエム、ALONE, BLACK RAIL」.

You must download them in order to view them. Tap that “Blue” button below the video thumbnail. File sizes are >500MB each. They require you to have at least 3GB space while downloading.

Note:

I hope you have supersonic Internet connection. With my snail speed Internet connection, the downloading process was hell.

I honestly have ZERO idea where the VR files are actually stored ... hu..hu

IMPORTANT! The MFS MMA VR Downloading is only allowed till November 2018.

7. Watching the VR video

There are TWO MODES of viewing. The movie viewing (left) and the VR Goggle viewing (right).

Choose the Right one and place your smartphone inside the Viewer Goggle. It will take awhile to load but it will be there.

Don’t use a phone without a Full HD screen. I found out that the tiny iPhone5 is so NOT suitable for VR ... haha! But I believe if you are into VR videos, you are probably someone who already has a phone with FHD screen. The ideal screen size is 5.7".

Can you fix my phone even if it does not turn on?

How long does it take to fix my phone?

Only my glass is cracked, why do I need to replace the entire screen?

The touchscreen and glass are separate elements, yet permanently joined. This allows your digitizer to still work even if your glass cracks, allowing temporary use of your phone or tablet. The downside is that we need to remove the whole front assembly to make a glass repair. On most iPhones you must replace both the glass and LCD however on many of the Samsung Galaxy phones we can offer a cheaper glass only repair provided your OLED is still functioning and un-damaged. For iPads we can generally replace the glass without harming the LCD display.

Do you offer a warranty on phone repairs?

Yes absolutely. We offer a lifetime warranty on our parts and labor. If any repair we undertake degrades or malfunctions we will repair the device for the lifetime of the phone or tablet. This warranty does not cover accidental damage.

What if you cannot repair my device, do I still have to pay?

We do not charge for diagnostics and if we cannot fix your phone, you will not be charged.

Do you fix water damage?

Yes, we do repair water damage. If your device has been wet, the best thing to do is to power it off right away. Do not plug it in to charge or try a new battery. We offer a free diagnosis on all repairs and for the highest probability of repair, bring it in ASAP.
