some thoughts about arcane season 2 act 3
Let me start this with the notion that yes, some of arcane 2 is rushed, but I also understand why they did things the way they did. And I loved every second nonetheless. Personally I think the "rushed plot" showed pretty well how the characters are also rushing to the end themselves.
In my opinion they used every second the could, even if I would never say no to more episodes.
But a season 3 would have meant that they spent a decade and a half on just a handful of characters, I think a company like Riot is not exactly thrilled about something like that (they didn't even believe in arcane and the animators and writers had to put their career on the line. It worked out okay for them, but never forget that Riot only really cares about PROFIT)
Let's also not forget that a single animator spent a week on average for "just" four seconds. That is insane dedication to their craft and they deserve every single praise they can get!!! I didn't know it was possible, but arcane season 2 made the animation even MORE beautiful. I can't wait to watch a frame by frame analysis on youtube.
now onto the rambles (sorry, thoughts are all over the place):
Heimdinger is not dead. Yordles don't really die, they just return to their birth place (the spirit realm/bandle city) also technicially only alt-verse Heimerdinger's body was obliterated (meaning that his conciousness might still be out there somewhere just without a body??)
I don't think Jinx is dead, the show hints at her escaping through the vents. *If* she is dead, I honestly don't hate it either. I just really love angst and the thought that either sister won't get their happy end unless the other sister dies is just a perfect angsty greek-tragedy and will drive me insane for the next few months! That said there is no way Jinx is gone. She escaped through the vents and fled with the airship! I think she realized that as it is now, Vi will never stop sacrificing things for her, that is why she has to leave. Maybe one day they can become sisters again.
when we first see Jayce eat in episode 7 I thought he cut off his damaged leg and ate it 💀
the alt universe has no hextech, meaning that Jayce likely killed himself in that universe. I'm not sure if Viktor would still be alive, I don't think his illness is cureable without hextech.
alt-verse Zaundads has my heart <3. I love it when extremly tragic series make their own happy/what-if story xD.
The timebomb interactions and their kiss was so sweet. I feel kinda bad that alt-verse Ekko won't remember any of that. And that main-verse Ekko couldn't tell his own Powder/Jinx how much he loved her.
I'm kind of sad that we didn't get to see much of Orianna (her design is STUNNING though) but they are possibly setting her up for whatever gets adapted next in the lol universe.
Jayik: gay love saves the world once again. If I had a nickel everytime this happens,
whatever Jayvik have going on is somehow gayer than the lesbian sex scene change my mind.
Speaking of lesbians, Cait with an eyepatch makes me feel things, I would forgive all her war crimes to if I were Vi.
Mel is a goddess. As she deserves. Someone please give her a hug though. I'm hoping she will play a bigger role in the next series! She seems to be on her way to Noxus, so I'm sure this is not the last of her we see!
That "sorceress" is LeBlanc, I think now it's too obvious to deny that wasn't her.
I NEED someone to write a spiderverse x arcane crossover at this point. The timetravel/universe travel is a perfect set up! I would kill to read an Ekko & Miles & Gwen & Hobie interaction.
What I'm hoping for the shows post-arcane season 2:
It's confirmed that Fortiche & Riot are already working on the next few projects, I'm expecting Noxus & Ionia to be the next focus. It could be a great way to introduce us non-lol players to the world.
I also really want (to know) more about Orianna, Mel and the Black Rose/LeBlanc!

🍊 1. most of my ocs are created from their names or designs before any solid concept. especially with the altarverse and blacklight circus and canopusverse, i’m still figuring out how they all Fit In even though i have their names and designs. some of them start as just An Idea and develop over time into something tangible
🍊 2. it depends on the oc!!! some of them have taken literal years to get to a point where i’m okay with them, some of them i was able to get a design i liked out of them right away (like revival). i go back and forth with them so often, it’s hard to Choose between designs. i think most of them are recognizable in their first designs, but not all of them
🍊 3. most frequenty, i decide on Design before name. role in their story + personality come at the same time a lot, but i don’t have a step by step process to create ocs. they create themselves
Tumblr media
🍊 4. i struggle with personality :( more than half of my ocs aren’t Characters even w names and designs because they don’t have personalities. it’s not because i dislike them or anything (there’s nothing to dislike!!) but my brain just Won’t Let Me
🍊 5. hm… well i think of the names on my own most of the time. exceptions are the characters that i want a specific meaning for their name (🪶, 🍷) or specific sounds (kasra, haisham). matchmaker and petty thief + paint and neo came to me in dreams genuinely. none of them have name Reasons in their ‘verses <3 maybe the pyloris. points. scientists.
🍊 6. mostly aesthetic!!! some i wanted to maintain The Vibe (haedusverse) and a lot of them i had to work really hard to get them to look “right” in my eyes. the scuttleverse look vaguely like bugs. fawn is a deer. there aren’t any in-universe reasons for any of them looking the way that they do— maybe except for a few of them, but even then, the ‘verse usually comes After the design. like iota!! she came before the novaverse. the novaverse was created specifically for her. but i just wanted her to be robot
Tumblr media
🍊 7. i love all of them dearly… colors faces outfits. my favorite oc design right now is firefly’s <3 colors look nice…
🍊 8. so. almost all of my ocs are inspired by me, but there are a Select Few that are 100% me (woozy, revival, my sona, fawn, halloween). the rest of them are smaller bits and pieces of me or what i want them to be. obviously. a lot of them have character inspo from characters i like, but i usually make their personalities on my own and they just so happen to fall into the same personality traits.
🍊 9. depends on the oc!! i have Main Characters (revival altarverse, woozy blacklight circus, paint canopusverse, etc) and main supporting characters (revival’s saints like reverence and repentance, whimsy ditzy and dizzy for blacklight circus, neo for canopusverse) background characters for almost all ‘verses. altarverse especially. i haven’t thought about screentime yet because i don’t ever think these projects will become Real so i don’t have to worry about how much a hypothetical audience will see them!! they’re all just There.
🍊 10. i cannae answer this… i don’t even have Plot let alone Character Arcs. redemption is the only character who has an arc actually planned and i’ve talked about that before!!!
🍊 11. do not. look. at the haedusverse. any other resemblance is completely coincidental!! all of my blorbos live in the back of my head and sometimes they come out. itch reminds me of angel, firefly reminds me of ekko, revival reminds me of yumeko, vial reminds me of mobius, but they’re not Supposed to look like them. they just do. obviously the haedusverse is a complete and total exception to this rule + so is naganohara. but we don’t talk about that.
🍊 12. i have Some playlists but they’re difficult to do without Plot and Personalities. revival has one that i’ve posted before but none of them are finished and none of them are what i want them to be :(
Tumblr media
🍊 13. um. nno..? no. revival woozy halloween and my sona sound like me though.
🍊 14. not off the top of my head, no <3 haedusverse excluded. i do think “rules are meant to be broken” and other character inspo quotes fit petty thief though
🍊 15. yes!! moodboards and stimboards
🍊 16. not in-universe, no. out of universe? also no because i don’t talk to anyone about them. because i hate sharing. because they’re mine.
🍊 17. oooh… well, spiders for revival!! her eyes are spider webs. roachie and maggie have autopsy scars from their being zombies and all. blacklight circus has clowns. none of them are Subtle or recurring in a way that would be cool :( :(
🍊 18. looks directly at the altarverse. yeah i’d say most of my ocs have connections. and i do have off-screen connections for a good part of them!! i have Parents for petri and virion, ronnie and lily, pierce and phoenix, kirill and vasiliy, etc. my sibling pairs. i don’t think about parents or grandparents of my ocs often, i have a hard enough time with the ocs themselves
Tumblr media
🍊 19. 108+ ocs to answer this question for. um.
🍊 20. that’s what my blog’s for!!

COLORS: EKKO
Tumblr media
THE BASICS
This is a music group consisting of Javen Oliver & Akeal Evans.
JO = Javen
AE = Akeal
First off, where did the name come from?
JO - We brainstormed about it for a bit in our athletic director’s office. We wanted a name that represents our motive and how we have similarities. The word “EKKO” itself represents how we want our message to be “echoed”. But the letters themselves stand for something as well. E for Akeal’s last name, a “K” facing the E to represent how Akeal is a king . Then an “O” for my last name with the second “K” representing how I’m a king.
What do you do?
AE- We make music about what we know, about reality and things that people can relate to and understand.
JO - We try to create a vivid picture of our own experiences and/or our own knowledge to connect to the listener.
What made you decide to do this?
AE- I always loved music, and I fell in love with lyrics and telling stories and speaking my truths. I also felt that hip hop was beginning to lose its truth and its strength.
JO - With the help from Akeal I was able to start affiliating myself in rapping, which has been a minor hobby for me the past couple of years.
What is the toughest part about what you do?
AE - Getting people to listen rather than actually following the hype. Many people hate listening to reality and would much rather listen to catchy things than specifically lyrics.
JO - Getting that perfect mixture of entertaining music and informative music is the hardest thing. You try so hard to give what the people want and need at the same time.
What is it that you enjoy the most?
AE- Me personally I enjoy listening to Javen rap, he always surprises me in the studio, with some crazy flow or just crazy bars that make me want to keep striving to get better.
JO - I enjoy the new things I learn every time I’m around the music. Akeal has a lot of experience and he expands that to me as much as he can without even knowing honestly. Also playing with new flows and making Akeal go crazy is pretty cool too .
What do you feel is your greatest skill when it comes to creating?
AE- My greatest skill is my ability to tell stories and being able to put metaphors into my verses that have to be deciphered, and the metaphors can range from 2 to 16 bars.
JO - To me, my greatest skill is the ability to put a lot of emotion in my lyrics. Through voice inflections and flow changes , I think I can really make a listener connect to how I feel or felt .
What gives you inspiration?
AE - My inspiration to rap depends on the what is occurring in my life and in the world. I have to be truly affected by something in order to write about. It all depends on how I’m feeling I could be beyond affected by tea and I’d write about it. It all depends on the moment.
JO - The challenge of maximizing my potential gives me inspiration. That’s goes for everything I decide to do. The process of achieving greatness gives me an extra push all the time.
How do you find balance between your creative pursuit & your everyday life?
AE - It’s hard, sometimes. I know, Javen and I both have times where we’re like we haven’t been writing or one has been writing while the other has been writing too much, in the end we always end up ready when we have to be. For me writing can’t be forced it has to just happen.
JO - I try to put myself in positions that will spark a creative fire in me. Like Akeal said, it can get very difficult to find the motivation to create, but once I indulge in an inspiring situation, that’s when the creative juices start to flow.
Do you have a favorite quote?
AE-  “Apply yourself to supply your wealth. The only limitations you have are those that you place upon yourself.” - GLC
JO- “Be true to the game and the game will be true to you. If you shortcut the game, the game will shortcut you.” - Michael Jordan
Tumblr media
THE SPECIFICS
How do you go about writing verses?
AE- It either begins with freestyling, or a topic may come to mind and I’ll just construct my the verse around the idea. It all happens randomly. Although that sounds simple it’s very abstract and random, some verses may take days, or months others may take 10 minutes.
JO - I never know when I will find the urge to write. It comes so randomly but when it does I tend to think about the flow I want first. After I determine that, I pick a desired beat or the beat that’s given and see what feel that beat gives me. That feel dictates what I want to write about; then I just fill in the blanks.
You guys just put out your first project, describe your experience putting it together
AE- It was different. Being somewhat new to the process we didn’t how we would go about it. We didn’t know if there would be a main topic or if it would be just us being us. We had to cut songs and we had to make sure we met a deadline which was different because we never really used deadline for the singles we put out before which all ended up on the tape too.
JO - The overall experience was fun and informative nonetheless. Having the opportunity to finally create music was very new to me and I honestly feel as though it was a good start . Nothing but improvement and development is yet to come for both of us , that’s the exciting part.
Do you have any idea what you will do for the next project?
AE-  We have about 4 or 5 songs in mind for the next project so far if it is a project It’s going to be different from the first definitely.
JO - We have some ideas cooking up for a couple tracks we’ll figure out the specifics soon.
Would you consider yourselves conscious rappers?
AE - I would necessarily consider myself a rapper to be honest, I see myself as a poet if anything. But if I’m looked at or categorized as a conscious rapper then I’m totally cool with that.
JO - To be honest I don’t consider myself as a rapper at all. I just love to do it and if that’s the label people would put us under then that’s perfectly fine. Just don’t expect us to not expand and try new things.
You two are incredibly focused on lyrics, but don’t shy away from emotional depth, was this intentional?
AE - Definitely, emotion is the gateway to truth, and we don’t want to be fake about anything we do. If people aren’t emotionally moved by what we do then we aren’t doing our best.
JO -The main focus was most definitely to create some type of emotion. I believe the main way to resonate with the listeners is to create that bond through the music. In our case, our words do that job for us.
What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve ever received?
AE - The best piece of advice I have ever received was to not conform just for other people. I make music the way that I do because I like it but that doesnt mean I don’t want to get better. I want to find ways that I like that others will like too so that means to take criticism and be productive but not to change overall.
JO - The best piece of advice I’ve received was to stay true to who I am because at the end of the day you have yourself more than anybody ever will. Also some form of advice that was very beneficial to me was to always put myself in position to achieve success, leave no doors closed and maximize your chances at all costs.
