He draws near enough to touch her, as soft as he can, softer even than maybe he'd like to. He supposes he does this to prove something, though to her or himself he can't say- that he is kinder than Elgar’nan ever has been, more faithful, more gentle, more good. 

Mythal slips from her silks like a pearl from a string, lets them spill at her feet on the floor.

A great altar indeed, he hears Felassan say, which brings even the Wolf to his knees.
