Glace is one of the 28 Swatchling siblings serving at the Queen's Palace. He's part of the first line of defense of Queen and is specialized in long-ranged takedowns. Despite his cold impassive demeanor, his heart is not a complete block of ice, thanks to the support of his brother Ciel and the special care of his father.

I'm researching about my 11th Swatchling, Tiramisú, the cook of Queen's Palace. Yesterday made the naked body to understand how to make chubby but muscular bodies, and I was very worried about the result. Guess all those years mingling with the Taunka in Northrend helped me a bit to understand the body type. Tiramisú is meant to become not only an important character in my AU but I also had plans to create cooking videos for my channel, as means to present and make the character known to everyone and put some educative videos for good measure because I'm like that (I love cooking and I can't help it but to share in the art). For everything else, i'll keep researching and make a character sheet once I get the hang of his forms.

Here is some data profiling about him, directly from my outlining notes in Scrivener (if you wonder about the rugged feathers on the arms, all Swatchlings clip their wings out of respect to their father's oath to the crown -- it's also more comfy for them when they need to tuck their arms inside the sleeves of their uniforms):

* Tiramisú D’Orange — #11th Swatchling * Personality Polarization: ORNG * Subconscious Aspect: The Kindness of the Father * A foody portly Swatchling, cheery and ready to make others happy with a miriad of his own recipes, always tailored to the personality of the commensal. Works at the great kitchen of the palace, being the master of hors d'oeuvre, entrée and entremets, whereas his sibling Zuccoto is the master of amuse bouche and desserts. Because Tiramisú needs to taste all dishes before serving them, he can’t help to eat some each time. Therefore his Swatchling shape is inverted in contrast with the rest of his siblings. * Will be wearing a tall chef hat because of his passion for cooking, and a sprig of parsley from the mouth, signifying his love for detail. * His totem-like salt-pepper grinder is his weapon of choice. It’s called Salu-Salo, salt side applies a debuff that halves all manner of healing, and pepper side reduces the accuracy and potency of regular attacks. Tiramisú handles his totem with a lot of dexterity, as his natural Swatchling strength is doubled by the amount of energy he has stored in his body from all the food he takes in. Has a hankering for eating poisonous herbs and may request his sibling Tempranillo to go on quick outings to Cyber Field to procure the ingredients he needs for his “caprice snacks”. Today my class wasn't classing too much at all. I'm waiting to use Unity since this past week and we can't advance because of 2 missing people... Others who already know how to do it already put their sprites an made them work, but I know nothing about Unity barring using an SDK to make avatars and worlds in VRCHAT and that's it. I'm still waiting to be taught something... If this trend keeps happening, instead of drawing I'll pull a YouTube tutorial about Unity and not wait for the teacher at all. My ADHD needs of stimuli and this wait kills me slowly (specially because I already delivered my sprites and everything is ready to import in Unity, I just need to know how to set everything up).

I'm sorry for the teacher but my brain is fickle and if I don't get enough mental stimuli, my brain and body just shuts down like with narcolepsy.

Ah, forgive me that I repost this. Since I moved stuff to my new YouTube channel, I'm phasing out the old one to help boosting the one focused on my AU project (also to give an update to the new followers that discovered this blog and my project recently this year 👍).

I guess some people hasn't seen that old concept-art of the "Rainbow Scourge" I did last year (a relevant character from the past history of the Cyber World of my AU), I'll reupload it here so that people can see the picture that is done in the timelapse (it was done in Ibis Paint and the postprocessing on Clip Studio Paint with the mouse). I made an update to the original picture today so that it looked much better, in a sense being an improvement over my old concept-art so that it looks nicer to the eye 😊 For anything else, just enjoy the upgraded version 👀

I was wondering, since I worked a lot on the details for the Rainbow Scourge, but most of them were lost because the character was so far away into the background of the outro, here is a close-up of this Darkner that terrorized Cyber World during its first cycles of existence.

Madame Tasque made a classification for it for her EXCEPTION catalogue. Here is what she wrote:

Hope the old crow thinks of this as a fair hobby for Glace to keep himself occupied while not following Ciel to the target range (it's unfair to Ciel that he has such pin-point accuracy).

[[THE STOICISM OF THE FATHER]]

Presenting one of the 28 Swatchling siblings of my AU. Though all Swatchlings are able to change their range of colour depending of their mood or upon request, these Swatchlings were born of a particular colour in the spectrum, which matches with their personalities but doesn't lock them in one single mood (as the mind is fickle and malleable as clay). They are "shards" of the original body of Swatch.

Glace is one of the Swatchlings who has the longest of legs, thus making him taller than average. I drew inspiration from the bird Sagittarius serpentarius for the design of his character. I guess the opposite could be said for Tempranillo (who was born with shorter legs compared to his size and now sports robotic motorized legs as an adult Swatchling).

Glaze is naturally the most impassive of the siblings, being born with an apparent stolidness that hid strange preternatural capabilities for computation. He's regarded as the one to have failed to convert his previous drone personality to the one of a fully fledged independent Darkner. Talking to him requires of a particular technique because Glace is unable to understand nuances. He will take everything literally so one must have great care with the choice of words while asking him for something. He also speaks in the same way as Queen, but with all the feelings removed and in a more hoarse synth voice.

Because of this apathetic nature, usually none of the siblings hangs with him outside of work, only Ciel. Glace was the first to be drafted by Ciel for his personal "guerrilla", admiring his sibling's natural traits and gifting him a weapon on behalf of Swatch, who also acknowledged that such tool would suit Glace to increase the defensive power of his flock and deck better the defenses of the Palace at large. Glace is then seen mostly following Ciel as if he were some manner of personal bodyguard, and the loyalty Glace shows to Ciel is only matched to his obedience to their father. The times Queen has ignored Glace because of taking all of her words in the literal sense are countless, and she only tolerates him around because of his practical usefulness, but would rely on Swatch to issue any commands to Glace. She is jokingly worried about Glace turning against them because she knows about A.I. Being a Crapshoot, and would ask Swatch to take good care of "His Borgling".

In all, despite being a cold-hearted Swatchling, he still has his own moral boundaries, being a zealous protector of his family and of those who is charged to defend. He would be also the only one daring to question Ciel without making this one to burst a fuse. The honesty of Glace is what keeps Ciel sane, as he knows that only subjectivity will come out from the beak of his brother, relying on his input when Ciel wants to hear a second opinion. This steeliness of Glace has tempered the fortitude of Ciel in a positive way, and Swatch has seen this improvement on Ciel after he paired them together for work. He thinks that Glace is what keeps the furore of Ciel at bay, and since then, his squabbles with Marama has diminished somewhat. However, he's still worried that Ciel's paranoias might end rubbing on Glace, but the Swatchling seems to be enduring through all of them in the only way Glace knows: impassionatingly.

As an integral part of the Bird-Butler-Band (BBB), Glace doubles as the beatbox of the group, complementing the keyboard of Tartaglia with a myriad of new electronic sounds. Once his sibling Fenouil composed a score for Glace to sing to and to increase the repertoire of the band. The song was named "Hero Facing the Black Sun" and it was Fenouil's way to say that the one who would never succumb to despair in the event of an apocalypse would be their sibling Glace.

Though his strength is on par with the average Swatchling, his abilities excel at keeping the enemy at a distance while snipping the the weak-points of the target. His weapon of choice is a custom Walter WA 2000 that Swatch made for him, baptized as the Chanterelle Noir. He wields it upside down as he has no need for the scope in order to triangulate the targets with pin-point accuracy.

If not available, he's also able to use any other fire-arm, but has special predilection for his rifle as it was a gift from his father. He can summon and unsummon it at will. Like his father and all of the other Swatchling siblings, he's also able to shed feathers from himself that can turn into dart-like birds to attack enemies in a pinch. These feathers can regrow at will and the amount is tied to Swatchling's remaining stamina.

Along with his siblings, he's a shard of Swatch, embodying the cold-hearted nature of Swatch's subconscious. Swatch keeps special care of him, because Glace reminds him to the apathy he could have succumbed to if not rescued on time by Queen and Tasque Manager. He desires the best for his progeny and wishes for Glace to be always on the side of ORDER and to never side with CHAOS, to avoid his son to fall into that dangerous spiral of nihilism that almost seized his sanity and Darkner heart in the past.

It's been a while since I posted something. I'm still beset by bureaucratic procedures that make me go like a boomerang and waste my stamina so much I just have strength to eat and go to sleep.

So that there is something of an update, here is a teaser of the prototype designs for 2 of the BLUE Swatchlings when they were young, Glace and Ciel.

Glace is your typical cold blooded stoic character that has 0 empathy (the polar opposite to his ORANGE brother Tartufo) and takes everything literally, so you need to give him a ton of details when ordering him around. His name literally means "glacial" as if devoid of feelings.

Ciel is the sworn rival of his RED brother Marama, who was appointed as leader of the Swatchlings by their father, thus he's in charge of managing the flock when Swatch and Tasque Manager are not available. Ciel and Marama had a quarrel when they were hatchlings as Ciel thought he was more fit to be the leader of the siblings. Marama was forced to blind one of the eyes of Ciel to make him stop fighting and Ciel will never forgive him for that. Ciel loves action movies and war games, and his skillset spins around handling explosives and bombarding the foes. Because he would never cooperate if Marama is around, Ciel is usually sent outside the palace for different tasks, pairing him with his closest "rebel" siblings who follow him more than Marama, the Swatchlings Fenouil, Chou and Pulcinella. Ciel is the only one that finds Glace easy to move around, so Glace is often seen following his orders, and trains with Ciel to polish Glace's skills with firearms in secret. Ciel hopes to turn Glace into a "sniper" of sorts, to complete his personal "brigade". Ciel was also one of the first Swatchlings to suggest bringing war to the doorstep of Castle Town to prevent any more unwanted invaders to target their Dark Fountain.

And that's a small glimpse about 2 of the 28 Swatchling siblings. Their chosen accessories and general design carries over onto their adult forms, and while Ciel's looks like a grizzled war-veteran of sorts (too many action movies in his noggin'), Glace's reminds me more to the calm and collected hitman that obeys orders to the T. It's funny because Ciel would also be called by his brother Ericino (the Swatchling in charge of the Amusement Rooms) to play FPS games with the guests by request of them, and he literally takes no prisoners while playing those games 😅

I hope to one day finish these. There's a ton of stuff to be done but RL is relentless with me for 2 months now, and May feels like it will be more of the same because bureaucracy is slow as molasses when dealing with civil affairs. Here hoping for better days. I need to practice animation too and I had an idea for the EXCEPTION form of Swatch before he was put on a leash by Queen. I hope to one day do just that if I get a couple of days free in a row.
