Might as well wrap up s1.
At this point I wish I’d kept a tally of Degrassi alumni.
This is one of the first episodes that had me screaming “ARE THEY SERIOUS” when Charah flirted over the evidence.
They’ve repeated “capacitor” so many times that the word has lost all meaning for me. (Just kidding. I have actually no idea what a capacitor in the first place.)
I was wrong about them blowing their explosion budget in episode 8. Apparently they could afford one more.
First of many characters named Fiona throughout the series.
First of two episodes in which Annie Drury’s “Time to Grow” is used in the soundtrack. (Yeah I have a Hudson and Rex playlist on the go.)
"In the future, dogs might be our first line of defense against the inevitable alien invasion". Well, that's a thing... that was said... on this show.
I’ll blame my current X-Files rewatch for the fact that I didn’t even register that line as bizarre. 🤣
Hudson and Rex S01E13 - The Rex Files
This is one of their good title puns lol. And a good episode, although as it happens often on this show, not exactly season material. It's also crazy that we can't agree on which is the season finale for S1. Anyway, IMDb and my copies say this one.
Charlie just took that car crash case just because Rex's nose said so.
Charlie: Joe, this case, I like it. Can I have it, pretty please?

Oh, it will only get worse from here, Joe.

I bet Charlie is thinking, "I had to pick the weird one" right about now. And I don't mean Jesse.
If Charlie didn't get the dead judge case that Sarah has been assigned to on forensics, then which detective did it go to? We don't have a better detective in the SJPD, do we?

Stop flirting over the evidence for one second challenge.
I think this is a good time to mention that "supernatural" cases on crimes shows are awesome and there should be more of them.

Just one of the many times we almost got blown up. No biggie.

And then he tells Sarah he knows her lunch order.

That's one way to trigger Star Wars fans and Trekkies with one move. Charlie, you little shit.

Just some quality dog content.
Song intermission past the halfway mark. For no reason other than to show the city of St. John's lol
We already got to the point where Joe has to order Charlie to go home. Just think of poor Rex!

We were stuck on that shot for like a minute. Is it some kind of watch advertisement? Editing department, I'll never get you.
Charlie chastising Jesse for splitting with Tyler. I mean, he's right. If this was a horror movie, Tyler would be dead. Now, he's just kidnapped.
"In the future, dogs might be our first line of defense against the inevitable alien invasion". Well, that's a thing... that was said... on this show.
Charlie might have initially chastised Jesse but afterwards he is way more gentle as he sees that Jesse blames himself for Tyler's disappearance.

I'm sorry, what about three men poring over files is cool, Sarah?
Okay, I've seen way too many times that even when Charlie and Rex are chasing someone and they're pressed for time, Charlie would still open the car door for Rex and lose precious seconds. I don't think that ever happened in the original. And given that I've see that Diesel can clearly jump in and out of the car from the car window, I don't know why they keep doing this.
There was a lot of running in this episode.
Oh, girl, why would you let a man take credit for you work? And then murder him for it? And then confess all of that before asking for a lawyer?

Geek convention.

Episode Review: "100 Proof Highway"
In this admirably written and well-acted episode, scripters Chris Bunch and Allan Cole present a social message about the perils of alcoholism, particularly with regard to drunk driving.
Jedda takes a romantic interest in her schoolmate Eric, a charmer who's fallen in with the wrong crowd and developed a drinking problem. Naturally, Jedda's friends don't want her dating the guy, but she simply won't be deterred. It's at this point that the writers, to their credit, seamlessly weave a second social message into the tale — a note about the dangers of staying in an unhealthy relationship.
Though Jedda generally has a good head on her shoulders, she's by no means perfect — which means that she's willing to make excuses for her hot bad boy.
"Everybody drinks a little," she says in Eric's defense.
"Do you?" Rick wisely asks in response.
The answer is no, but Jedda brushes that off. She's prepared to endanger herself to satisfy her desire for Eric.
And that alerts us that it's not just Eric who's in need of help. Our heroine might require some as well.
For the duration of "100 Proof Highway," DoE stops being a show about flying lasers and alien invasions. Instead, what we have in this episode is the kind of subject matter that one might expect to find in a series like the original Degrassi, which I consider the greatest teen drama of all time. While the writing here isn't quite as mature, partly because the creators don't have the luxury of getting too dark on a kids' show, we still get some solid lines that transcend genre.
On that note, it's worth mentioning that most of the adult Defenders do not appear in this installment. The writers are ultimately presenting a look at the weaknesses and strengths of young people. This episode shows us that, yes, there are times when kids will fail without proper parental intervention (Eric's parents are not aware of his drinking), but children also have the ability to succeed on their own (Rick and LJ demonstrate great discipline throughout). It all comes down to the choices you make when your parents aren't present to guide you.
As the tale progresses, Jedda goes to a party thrown by Eric, but disapproves of all the drinking there. The creators do a great job of keeping her in character here. Even though she's gone someplace she probably shouldn't be, she remains level-headed. Eventually, Jedda realizes that someone has spiked her drink, and she knows that she needs to get home. A drunken Eric begins to drive her, but causes the vehicle to hit a barricade en route. Jedda then drives herself back, wakes up in the mansion hung over, and has a fairly touching scene with LJ and Rick, who were deeply concerned.
Unbelievably, she decides to give Eric a second chance. Jedda wants to think that she can help the guy, which is somewhat admirable, I suppose. But as Rick notes, via another solid line, "Nobody can help him until he wants some help."
Ultimately, she dates Eric once more, and he crashes while driving her around again. This time, Rick and LJ have to save the couple from the wreck. That incident brings Jedda to her senses, and, fortunately, brings Eric to his. He finally decides that he does want help, and pursues counseling. In keeping with the realistic tone, the episode doesn't end with him miraculously recovered. Instead, he notes that the therapy requires a lot of dedication, but it's worth it, because he wants to live.
Hats off to everyone involved for creating what is, overall, a nicely crafted episode.

Queer Media One Tragic at a Time Has Reprogrammed My Brain
I find myself continually lowering my standards for the type of media I consume. Queer character? Check. Limited tragedy? Check. At least once instance of happiness? Check. Alright, that’s good enough for me. I LOVE THIS *insert media type here* SHOW, MOVIE, SONG! But, along with the good comes the bad and the ugly. Along with the brief instances of happy, complex, characters come the violence, the stereotypes, the woe. At this point, simply having a queer character that doesn’t die is the best I can hope for and that truly stresses me out. On a regular basis.
In Queer Youth Cultures, Karen said it perfectly, “I think there's a lack of homosexual characters who are presented in a positive and uplifting, or not even positive and uplifting but just represented on the screen or in the media in general. I guess it's a desire to have a voice. I know this sounds like pure shit, but it's a desire to have a voice, to feel that l'm being spoken for or even just represented. But that there's a voice up there that's representing, or at least trying to represent my own experience. I want to have a say in what's going on and I'm not willing to just accept the images that are represented in front of me as being the only possibility. I take it maybe beyond its limitations of what's there. I try to expand, try to just open it up to possible choices that exist for me that might not exist for the creators for that particular film or TV show. But I will be heard” (2008, p.175-176).

Shameless acceptance of the toxic gay dynamic:
While sexuality is particular to each individual, the social constructions of heterosexuality and homosexuality are cultural categories humans use to make sense of their sexuality (Queer Analysis, 2010, p.198). Shameless, an American comedy-drama television series based on a British show of the same name, stars Cameron Monaghan as Ian, a closeted teenage boy who realizes he is gay and navigates the complexities of his queerness as a social identity and Noel Fisher as Mickey, a closeted homophobic thug who upon realizing he is gay engages in a sexual relationship with the one other queer person he knows who also happens to be the kid he violently bullied. Ian and Mickey start as a toxic portrayal of settling and acceptability in its truest form. Ian is in a predatory relationship with an adult and still possess a great deal of internalized homophobia when he is essentially propositioned by Mickey and their turbulent relationship begins. Mickey is struggling between his desires as a closeted gay teen and his need to match the criminal ideals expected of his father and family name. They are an explosive pair that seem to cause each other physical pain and mental anguish, yet the fans are wholly supportive. Even when healthy potential partners are introduced, the toxic couple of Ian and Mickey are reunited time and time again because media has established a trope where queer characters are only allowed complicated togetherness. Queer characters are punished for choosing their queerness and therefore not allowed true love and happiness. Despite having this knowledge and nothing in common personally with these characters, I love this couple and I love this pairing, so I am part of the problem. I am a product of this generation of idolizing toxic behaviors between characters because unfortunately those are the only “happy” queer characters I have seen continually produced. I have settled into a pattern of accepting negative stereotypes as simply good enough. I have traded the simple fact that the queer character doesn’t die for the harsh reality of their lives.

Another sad queer lacking Glee:
When queer characters are introduced, there are a set number of personality types and lived experiences they are allowed to have. Take Dave Kurofsky from Glee who serves as the closeted homophobic bully who after being outed in the “On My Way” episode attempts suicide and is comforted by the out-and-proud effeminate Kurt, a previous victim of Kurofsky’s wrath. We get to observe the pointed shift in Kurofsky’s personality from homophobic bully to repentant closeted queer, but the lack of character development unfortunately makes it difficult to feel sorry for him as a character. Instead, as an audience, we are forced to revel in “media representations of queer culture as essentialist, marking out the dichotomies between male and female, heterosexual versus homosexual (Queer Youth Cultures, 2008, p.175). Kurofsky is unable to learn what it means to be a queer man and grow from his internalized homophobia because he is coming his existence and framing his life experiences through that of Kurt; this is apparent when Kurofsky is unable to dance with Kurt at prom because of the perception of gayness. We accept Kurofsky’s story as powerful and real and heartbreaking because it is, but at what point do content creators have an obligation to tell the story a different way, in a positive uplifting light?

Degrassi: The Next Generation of bury your gays tropes:
Degrassi: The Next Generation, a Canadian teen drama television series, made history for tackling the tough social issues affecting teens, but frequently not talked about. They embraced diversity in their casting and range of topics covered while spearheading a progressive movement of introducing characters traditionally absent from popular media. Adam, a trans male character played by a cis female actress is a well-rounded first introduction to many into the lives of trans youth. The audience is familiarized with concepts such as passing and outing as well as the complexities involved in sexuality vs gender. Adam, besides being inaccurately portrayed by a cis woman, which is damaging to the idea that trans folks are the gender they have identified with rather than their gender assigned at birth, provides a much needed avenue of representation for queer youth in popular media. Continuing with our previously identified tropes, as a result of Adam being happy, relatively healthy, and well-liked he has to die. Queer characters are not afforded regular happiness in media they are given a taste then sacrificed as tools of writing via violence, sacrifice, or martyrdom. Adam is not gay bashed or driven to suicide as other queer characters are, but instead tragically killed as a texting while driving PSA. This death is particularly hard felt because Adam was truly shaping out to be a normal high school kid facing the complexities of life and surviving, but the creators, once again, took a queer character as the source for a lesson in some predetermined idea that queer happiness is short lived and tragic regardless of circumstance. There is a need for punishment of their queerness.

Queer punishment, a Supernatural concept:
What do shipping, fandoms, and heteronormative dominant culture have in common? Queerbaiting. Queerbaiting, “a term employed by media fans to criticize homoerotic suggestiveness in contemporary television when this suggestiveness is not actualized in the program narrative” (Brennan, 2016, p.1). A concept typically negatively connoted is a primary tool of heteronormative culture ensuring queer culture remains as a subculture rather than its own, established independent source of media. Audiences, particularly queer individuals, are forced to imagine scenarios and worlds where their identities are represented and dominant. “By creating a fantasy space, queer youth have an environment where they are free to explore many possibilities” (Queer Youth Culture, 2008, p.174). From these creative worlds come the likes of couples like Dean and Castiel (#Destiel) from Supernatural. The creators introduce intimacy and connectedness; the couple is ideal and non-stereotypical or superficial. Unfortunately, our trend of no happy endings for queer media continues because despite the fan observations and urging this couple is never acknowledged or confirmed as such. They instead give several seasons of romantic teasing culminating in a teary subversive confession immediately preceded by death and not just any death, a death where Castiel, an angel character is drug to hell. The sub context is overwhelming in deciding queerness is so offensive that any acknowledgement to the sort should result in punishment akin to biblical reckoning.

Lingua Franca, the road to universal language and communication:
Even as queer media continually evolves becoming evermore accurate and inclusive the conditioning I have been subjected to, as a consumer of queer media, completely reprogram my brain. While watching something as relevant and present as Lingua Franca I am unable to completely enjoy the film as I am waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. Lingua Franca is a progressive film about a trans Filipina woman seeking a path to legal immigration in Trump’s America. The film is written, directed, and stars Isabel Sandoval an actual trans woman of color and therefore the portrayal is very real. As a film about a trans woman, the pace is melodic and light while the subject matter is focused on the life of Olivia rather than her transition or identity as a trans woman. While watching the film, I found it beyond refreshing that there were no invasive surgery questions or blatant misgendering by supposed loved ones. That being said, as a first watch through, it was anxiety inducing; the lack of discussion regarding Olivia’s trans identity led me to worry for her safety in a cis-heteropatriarchal world. When Olivia is engaging in her relationship with Alex I see the natural connections, simplicity, sensuality, and beauty, but I also worry about the potential for the violence I have come to expect when viewing true queer happiness. The scene where Olivia is outed by Alex’s friend shifted the entire tone of the film for me as I watched Alex spiral and truly cringed at the thought of watching another film showing an act of physical violence against a trans woman of color. While that thankfully did not happen, the fact that I remained restless throughout the entirety of the film waiting for it alludes to this reprogramming of sorts that has occurred. Creators show queer characters as poor unfortunate souls brought down by their queer identities therefore, I have come to expect and root for in some regards, a victim. There are limited instances when I can truly enjoy a queer film without a sinking feeling in my stomach waiting for the catch, waiting to exhale and simply experience queer joy.

“I hide hurt behind a fake smile. I wear it all the time. Everyone says how I always look so cheerful. Shows what they know, I guess.”

◀━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━▶
No one can know what's going on inside someone's head. That much was made very clear one unwitting morning in August, as the body of Campbell Saunders was discovered.
◀━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━▶
Classmate and NHL draftee Campbell Saunders has died. His body was discovered by another student early one morning, his injuries appearing to be self-inflicted. As the news spreads, students are dealing with the loss in different ways, but when Alli Bhandari goes missing on the morning of the memorial, rumors begin to circulate that perhaps she hasn’t run off to escape the tragedy, but instead might be the next.
UNFRIENDEDHQS is a literate and active Skeleton roleplay, based on Canon and AU events from Degrassi and Degrassi: Next Class. Days after Campbell’s suicide, the student body starts receiving ominous texts, videos and threats over social media. The source hasn’t been able to be tracked, and the messages are getting more invasive, leaving everyone to wonder what’s in store.

More informations about To The Extinction
Development of the To The Extinction began in February 2016, while Square Enix and WB Games teamed up together to adapt the 2015 novel To The Extinction...And Beyond!!! by Tom Hoffman, immediately three months after its release and during the release of the eponymous BOOM! Studios graphic novel by Jamie McKelvie and Kieron Gillen. By January 2017, during the third phase of its development, the newly established video game division of Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures, Annapurna Interactive, reportedly stealing over $500,000 from Square Enix and WB Games. As the result, Annapurna Interactive had jointly developed together with WB Games. The combined inflation during the development of TTEAB is about $75 million, making one of the most expensive video games ever developed since then. On June 10, 2017, the game is finally revealed as To The Extinction during the E3 conference at the Square Enix's panel of E3 2017, and the first full gameplay trailer released seven hours later.
On 14 January 2016, just three days after spending his 10th birthday in London, Daniel Turok talks to BBC Radio 2 in negotiations to play the role of Miles Keller in To The Extinction. His role described by Tom Hoffman as a deliberate young boy who hates many outsiders and alien invasion. "I was came out gay with my little brother Nate Turok", Daniel Turok explained his gay relationship.
In February 2016, 10-year old Daniel Turok was choosen to play Miles Keller in Square Enix's To The Extinction. He was the one of the new faces of Dazed's February 2016 issue. Of mixed Hungarian Jewish and Polish-British background, Daniel Turok's career in the UK began in 2012 with the long-running BBC medical drama series Casualty, and eventually his film debut in the UK was proved to be Attack on the Block, in which features the Star Wars newbie John Boyega and legendary British comedian Nick Frost. Before playing the role of Miles Keller, Daniel Turok gives his letter to his current talent agency named Curtis Brown, whom he signed by November 2010 (just four months before he had acquired a British citizenship), albeit his acting career began in 2009 with Degrassi: The Next Generation. His brother Nate Turok also plays the younger Miles Keller, but his acting debut was came back in the 2015 with The Goldbergs, after he briefly appeared as a toddler in the 11th season of Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2016, Nate Turok launched career in the UK with the long running BBC drama series Hollyoaks, and his eventual film debut was proved to be Edge of Seventeen and Noel Clarke's Brotherhood (which also starring Daniel Turok). In April 2016, Daniel Turok prepared his motion capture sessions with his instructor David McMahon (known for Rise of the Tomb Raider, another video game from Square Enix). In the following days, Joseph Mederos (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Elisabeth Ragan (Hollyoaks) joined the motion capture sessions.
The film adaptation of To The Extinction was followed its production by September 2016 in Toronto, and eventually moving to New York and London. Some sources said it was filmed in more locations like Ireland, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Italy. The filming was eventually ended in June 2017, while the production ended in Switzerland.
In his interview with BBC in July 2017, Daniel Turok said his role as Miles Keller in To The Extinction was influenced by a CIA agent who fight against the KGB in the Cold War-era Germany. He had already read the book that already adapted both a video game and a film itself, while he purchased a book from Barnes & Noble store in his hometown of Boston. In May 2017, Daniel Turok had enjoyed his adventure around the city of Belgrade, the capital city of the Europe last remaining authoritarian country (Serbia). "I was in Belgrade for the one of the last remaining months of filming", Daniel Turok explains. In early June 2017, Daniel Turok and his other co-stars of To The Extinction were in the Swiss city of Zurich for the last days of filming. Two weeks later, Daniel Turok returned to his residence in London because he was take a rest until he started his own YouTube account on June 30 by that year.
Music and soundtrack
By May 2017, Clint Mansell composed the game's theme song, but Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor composed the game's entire music. It combines the retro-styled 1980s and early 1990s electronic music. The soundtrack features more than 100 songs performed by David Bowie, Elton John, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Duran Duran, and many more.
On 25 May 2017, the Cornwall-based British singer-songwriter John Buckley recorded the Depeche Mode cover song to promote the forthcoming To The Extinction, called "Shake The Disease" alongside the Canadian newcomer Tyler Lorette, but the primary music were perfomed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. NME called the song as "the darker and emotional tribute to the 1980s and the 1990s electronic music". The song was performed at the SXSW 2018, while To The Extinction was nominated for the best game by the SXSW Game Awards.
Release and marketing
To The Extinction was released worldwide to all platforms on January 16, 2018. Two months ahead of its release, Funko released their Pop Vinyls and Mystery Minis based on the characters of To The Extinction, these are including Peter Hayes, Alice Brennan (or with flame-thrower), Miles Keller (or with his eyeglasses), David Bernard, Sam Joyce, Phillip Joyce, Lucy Keller, Megan Perez, Hannah Hughes, Hoyt, Chris Hughes and Ray Hughes.
Sales and reception
Metacritic: 86%
IGN: 7.5/10
Eurogamer: 8/10
Famitsu: 31/40
GameSpot: 7.6/10
Metro: 7.4/10
To The Extinction sold over 300,000 copies on the first day of its release, making the highest selling video game of the week in the United States and Canada during January 2018, and 220,000 copies in the United Kingdom. A few months later, To The Extinction sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide, making one of the highest selling video games by Square Enix (alongside 2013's Tomb Raider).
To The Extinction met with overwhelmingly positive reviews upon its release, with an average score of 86% on Metacritic. While giving an average rating of 7.5/10, IGN's Brandin Tyrrel hails To The Extinction as "the most historically inaccurate video game ever made". Eurogamer gave the game an 8/10, praising its intense action, dialogue mechanics, vehicle and aircraft controls, cover based systems, and recreation of the late-Cold War science fiction action adventure. David Jenkins from Metro gave the game 7.4/10, calling it a game with a blend of Just Cause, Watch Dogs, Fallout and The Last of Us, claiming over its intense and over-satisfying combat mechanics, dialogue system, stealth and cover systems, vehicle controls, unexpected storytelling and significant storyline of its main characters (such as Peter Hayes, Alice Brennan, Sam Joyce and Miles Keller).
Controversies
To The Extinction was noted being "one of the most controversial video games ever made" since 2010, as with depictions of the horrifying acts of torture, grizzly executions, cannibalism, animal cruelty, and more human sacrifices in Ireland, Angola, Congo, Ethiopia and the Romani tribes in the Balkans. The game was extensively banned in Russia and the former Soviet Union with portraying Russians negatively, and also banned in former Yugoslavia for the portrayal of its people negatively.
In Ireland and the Northern Ireland, the portrayal of the Irish people and the IRA were both negative, both decided to ban before its release. By June 2018, following the abortion referendum in Ireland, many supporters of Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail decided to lift the ban on To The Extinction, aside of its controversy over the IRA and the negative views of Ireland. In the same month, Square Enix gives the release date of To The Extinction in Ireland by the end of June, with an exception of the scenes depicting over the IRA and its nationwide armed conflict in Ireland. As the result, the British video game retailers Game Digital plc and CeX decided to not release To The Extinction all over the Northern Ireland, but GameStop decided not to release To The Extinction all over Ireland until the ban was lifted in June 2018, with an exception of the IRA. The ban described as a glorification of the IRA, as the story depicted from that book itself.
Before its release, South Africa decided to ban To The Extinction of portraying much of apartheid-era stereotypes and references. In a March 2018 interview, South African arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa said To The Extinction had portraying a false societies toward the black Africans and retrospecting its views over the apartheid-era South Africa to its video game.
The game was intended to be an adults only video game, but it was released to PEGI 18 rating to avoid many strong sexual content and high impact violence.
While portraying Miles Keller, actor Daniel Turok had acquired the British citizenship in 2011. His role was described by Square Enix, as a legitimate and more mixed "Jewish, American and British stereotypes", because he was one of the main protagonists of the story (alongside Peter Hayes, Alice Brennan and Sam Joyce). Daniel Turok is best known of his voice at the end of LLeju Entertainment logo, it is known for The Baytown Outlaws.

Thomas Kerner Hoffman said the adaptation of To The Extinction will be filmed in the one of the Europe's last remaining authoritarian countries.
Roberto Cano and Elise Grayson will board on Mandeville Films’s To The Extinction, and it will be filmed in UK, Canada, France, Italy, Croatia and Serbia. It will be based on the 2016 graphic novel “To The Extinction!” writted by Thomas Kerner Hoffman and illustrated by Sam Curry and Jamie McKelvie, set during the end of the communist era from 1989 through 1993, in which alien invaders ravaged around the world. It will be starred alongside Madeleine Hill (Hollyoaks), Max Ragan (Holby City), Tom Birdsey (Hollyoaks), Sam Jackson-Arnesen (Happy Valley, Casualty), Thomas Fredrik Johansson (The Dumping Ground), Wade Joubert (Degrassi, Downton Abbey), Jacob Bartosz (Downton Abbey) and Miles Somerville (Luke Cage). The film would be held its premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Festival on 11 November 2017. Filming began in October 2016 in Toronto, Canada, and moving to the various places including UK, France, Italy, Serbia and Croatia, but the filming concluded in June 2017. A tie in video game “To The Extinction!”, will be available in December 2017 in iOS and Android devices, followed by Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, PSVita, Nintendo Switch and 3DS in January 2018, but WB Games won the rights for “To The Extinction!”. The game is the episodic sci-fi action adventure based on the eponymous graphic novel and the film adaptation itself, but the players can choose to take control of many primary characters, including Peter (the main protagonist), Alice, Chris, Phil, David, Miles and Ray.
In January 2017, during the filming of To The Extinction, Hoffman said the filming was added to the location in Serbia, one of Europe’s last remaining authoritarian countries. The filming sparked controversy, because of the false portrayals of the FR Yugoslav Armed Forces as the plot based on the graphic novel itself. Oz filmmaker Ben Young, who made his breakthrough in Hounds of Love, said Serbia was a lot of hell-holes and poor guys whom were cast as the extras in the film. If didn’t see 2008’s action movie Rambo, To The Extinction maybe a typical science fiction action adventure set after the fall of communism in the Europe.
The plot
Set between 1989 and 1993, it follows Peter, a young man who has a dreams about losing his friends and siblings during the crucial alien invasion during his childhood. In his first step, he travels to SFR Yugoslavia to rescue his missing friends kidnapped by the army led by the unknown commander known as “The General”. The final step is take place in Bosnia, in which rebel forces defended Sarajevo from the invading Yugoslav Army, accompanied by the alien invaders known as the “Legions”.
