Next up for Warner Bros Animation, favorite character from the mid-late 2010s era of shows (aka the point when they started putting most of the WBA shows on Boomerang, maybe they were trying to rebrand Boomerang beyond just "old rerun house" around that time plus Cartoon Network in general going through change at that point, and the few that did air on Cartoon Network were screwed over in the end): The Tom and Jerry Show 2014, Mike Tyson Mysteries (WBA's first show for Adult Swim), Wabbit/New Looney Tunes, Be Cool Scooby Doo, Bunnicula, Right Now Kapow (surprisingly the rare time WBA produced a show for a Disney network), Justice League Action, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, Wacky Races 2017, and Unikitty?

Okay so let's take a bunch out: I haven't seen tom and jerry show 2014, wabbit, bunnicula, right now kopow, jla, dorthy or wacky races. Want to see that last one just haven't. SO gonna be a lgither lineup

Mike Tyson Mysteries: Pidgeon. It's Norm McDonald allowed to basically just riff half the time whlie playing a man turned into a pidgeon. Of course he wins. The show itself is genius... I first watched it thinking it was another throaway adult swim show. While the block has had had a ton of gems (Including aquired shows like mission hill or oblongs i'd like included, shows that didn't get a good chance first go round), it sometimes just falls into the bad cliches of adult animation. This show though.. is just fun, a filmation style show that pokes fun at tyson (Whose barely coherent), the concept and does whatever it wants. It could've gotten old quick given the similar hannah barbarera already got a ton of riffs early in adult swims life, but it didn't. Good stuff.

Be Cool Scooby Doo: Scooby who is just at his sassisest here and I support this. I watched thorugh all of this with @jess-the-vampire over the past few years. Now when this first aired I ignored it: I was bitter mystery inc was gone and had seen far too many cartoons lazily rip off family guys style to like the art style. And while the art style is still i'ts weakest part, Be Cool is easily the most underated Scooby Doo series. The wackier tone.. is necessary after the darker if still batshit insane mystery inc. Trying to do mystery inc again wasn't going to work.

So instead it's goofier: the mystery machine can transform, and we get some fun plots as the gang tries to solve a train mystery, deals with fred's need to solve a christmas mystery when instead having to deal with a ptreodactyl, shaggy becomes king of the goths, and fred's entirely too tight shorts disturb the gang whose too polite to tell him. The show goes places, having Velma sing the summation, reluctantly as hell, and it is all the better for it. It also plays with Daphne and Fred: While the other three are abou tthe same (Though Scooby is now sassy as hell as mentioned and the world is better for it), Fred is taken back to being the straight man, but often finds himself succubming to antics, a neat take and Daphne is given a quirk of the week and made a cloud cuckoolander. It allows Frank and Grey to play with the characters more and allows the writers to try something new. The result is awesome and the shows well worth checking out.

Unikitty: Dr. Fox ENTIRELY because she's played by Kate Miccui. The show itself.. is decent. Nothing amazing, but I will say it has more to it than the actual sequel to the lego movie and has some fun with it's pretty standard premise and weird as hell characters.

And people are checking out Mystery Incorporated for a darker take of the gang, because the core and characters are still there from the OG series. Even Venture Bros is being highlighted, cause of that parody episode being in spirit than that godawful Soapbox self-insert. I learned how much Mindy Kaling sucks so much from comments around the web.

Venture Bros. is also getting checked out due to the recent drama involving the Rick & Morty creator I believe.

I'm glad that's the case, I was absolutely sad when I found out Adult Swim canceled that show along with Metalocalypse. Apparently, they're getting movies and coming back at some point, so I guess AS realized their mistake. Those two shows along with ATHF, Space Ghost, and Harvey Birdman were the golden age of Adult Swim content.

Also, don't forget Mike Tyson Mysteries. Absolutely fantastic parody of the Scooby-Doo-likes. RIP Norm Macdonald, I'll always love him as Pigeon. ;(

Next up, favorite character from the Adult Swim originals from 2013 -15 : Newsreaders, Hot Package, Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories, Mr. Pickles, Rick and Morty (aka their most iconic cartoon original in the 2010s), King Star King, Decker, Black Jesus, The Jack and Triumph Show, and Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter? Mike Tyson Mysteries excluded since we already covered that in the Warner Bros Animation ask.

Okay so as usual what I haven't seen up top: Newsreaders, Hot Package, Decker (Though I have watched some of it's sister show on Cinema), King Star King The Jack and Triumph Show and Neon Joe. (Though I did WANT to see tha tone)

Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories: I checked out an episode or two but coudln't get into it. I wasn't into horror at the time, so that didn't exactly help but even then it feels a bit too long for Tim and Eric's own good. Mr Pickles; Is garbage. I only saw bits but it was ugly , mean spirited and as someone already not a fan of the michigan j frog bit, I didn't want to see it done over an entire series.

Rick and Morty: WUBALUBADUBDUB. It's a hard choice but i'd go with mr meeseeks LOOK AT ME. Just such a good concept. As for the show itself, first off.. fuck Justin Roiland. It was a shame to find out someone this talented was such an asshole but fuck em. Unlike Dan Harmon he did not take responsiblity for his actions and become a better person after doing something incredibly shitty.

Now with that elephant out of the room I liked Rick and Morty at first... a high concept show that SEEMED like a status quo show, but wasn't, with fantastic animation, a great cast and lots of good ideas. But as the show went on... I started tuning out, eventually ending with season 4 part 1. I didn't like how the show stuck to it's status quo to it's detriment, or got creepier with Summer being thrown into sex stuff with grown men despite being stuck as a teenager, and the slut dragon episode. My attempt to come back ended when I ran into an episode where morty and summer had an incest baby they named Naruto and refuse to just.. render non canon.

The series also kinda disappeared up it's own ass with Vindicators 3 feeling like one long angry screed against marvel.. and while i've come to accept the mcu has issues and has DEIFNTELY degraded since, it felt less like a genuine parody and more like Dan Harmon yelling at a genre he didn't like. The show lost that spark and if it's regained it good for them. But I just can't go back. And the fact I can't go back to a show with Keith David as a guest star every season really says something.

Black Jesus: I liked this show and wish i't'd lasted longer. IT's a solid show with a fun premise of a man who may or may not be jesus hustling with his friends. Trailer Park Boys Meets Boondocks.. literally with the creators of both teaming up for a solid cult classic.
