Do you think the people of Plaithus ever made up a Daughter of the Sea-esque song about the Commander’s betrayal? What would the Plaithus gang think if they heard such a song?

(if you don’t know, Daughter of the Sea is a world of warcraft thing. About Jaina Proudmoore “betraying” her admiral father by letting the horde kill him after he attacked them unprovoked. Her people across the ocean didn’t hear about how he started the conflict, just how she left his side and let him die)

Oh, most definitely! I'm sure it's one of those songs where everyone knows the tune + main chorus, but the verses change + vary based on the region/who's singing it. I imagine other countries mention songs about the Commander too, likely in a negative light as well.

As for how the crew would react... I imagine most of them have already heard the songs. Syfyn + Sabir would've heard them just while living in Plaithus, Amilia's a bard + storyteller so she most certainly has heard all the stories and songs, and Nikke/Jost + Vethna both come from places that strongly dislike the Commander, so their home countries have their own songs against the Commander + Plaithus.

And Freedom is... Freedom.

I imagine if they were all at a pub and such a song started playing and it started visibly upsetting MC, Sabir + Vethna might give the bard a gold coin to skip the song, Amilia would take over the show and force the songs onto a different topic, while Nikke + Syfyn would likely just tell MC to ignore the song or offer to go outside with MC for a bit. If the song got particularly rowdy, however, then those two are the most likely to start getting physical 🤫 Jost would heckle the bard until they skip the song, maybe throw a punch or two (but that's just because she likes starting problems) and Freedom would just let MC handle the situation however they'd please.

Otherwise, if MC wasn't bothered by it, I imagine the entire group would just poke fun at some of the verses and make light of the whole thing!

My top 10 favorite South Park episodes, no one asked but here we go

10. With Apologies to Jesse Jackson

This is a controversial episode to put here because of how offensive it is, and truthfully, I didn't care too much for the A plot. But the B-plot makes up for it. Watching Cartman and a Midget fight to Get Down with the Sickness is so hilariously absurd.

9. You're Getting Old/Ass Burgers

This is the second/third episode I remember watching before I got into the show. I included them both in one spot because Ass Burgers is a continuation of You're Getting Old, but each have their own separate charm. I definitely shed a tear when Stan moved out to Fleetwood Mac's Landslide and split my sides laughing as Kyle yelled at Cartman for sticking the burgers up his ass. I also heavily relate to Stan's meltdown in class in Ass Burgers, because that's real emotion. An amazing storyline overall.

8. Make Love, Not Warcraft

I mentioned that the previous two episodes were some of my first episodes, but not THE first episode. That title goes to this episode. When I was born, my brother was 15, and as I grew up, I often watched him play World of Warcraft. So this episode is very nostalgic to me, not just because him and I watched it but because as someone who plays WOW nowadays (very inconsistently), it's so nostalgic to see how much has changed.

7. The Losing Edge

This is just a classic episode. The boys don't want to participate in baseball and try to get out of it by losing, but the other teams have the same idea. I think we all know who the real star of the episode is: Randy. I thought this was America!

6. Trapped in the Closet

Subtlety is completely ignored in this episode. As Stan is praised as the reincarnation of L. Ron Hubbard, his comments about Tom Cruise send him literally into the closet. I think my favorite bit in the episode is R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet verses, specifically when he pulls out a gun in Stan's room and everyone in the hallway runs away.

5. Major Boobage

This episode is... beautiful. The animation is impressive, and the story is hilarious as well. Kenny and Gerald cheesing and then getting into a fight, Cartman reliving the Holocaust with the cats, and the funny ass press conference given just solidify this episode as legendary.

4. Le Petit Tourette

This episode introduced my favorite one-off character, Thomas. But even more than that, it gave us a great story and a chance for us to see Cartman's plan blow up in his face. While it ultimately never came to fruition due to Kyle's actions, it's satisfying to know that he definitely revealed a deep secret or two in exchange for almost slandering minority groups on national TV.

3. Follow That Egg

I have vague memories of watching this episode as a kid, but I don't consider it as one of my firsts because I could only really recall them running through the crowd trying to save their grade. But it's a fantastic episode. Ms. Garrison's attempts to stop gay marriage from being legalized, to Stan's comical bitterness towards Kyle and Wendy, it all comes together and compliments each other well.

2. D-Yikes!

I didn't expect to get so personal on a South Park top 10 list, but it's the honest truth. South Park became a major comfort for me after my assault. And this was the first episode I watched that made me burst out laughing since the attack; Ms. Garrison screaming "scissor me timbers!" has got to be one of the funniest lines in the show's history. And overall, it's just a fun episode to watch.

1. Guitar Queero

This is an underrated masterpiece of an episode that more people should watch. The plot of the episode feels so fluid, and everything about it makes sense to me. The rise to stardom, falling to drugs (well, video games about drugs), losing it all and returning to give it one final shot just encompasses what South Park can really do when given the right tools. Maybe I'm biased because Season 11 is my favorite season, but something about this episode just really scratches my brain.

Hearing such from him tugged at something within her body, making her essence tingle in a strange fashion she was unable to place. It often brought a faint shimmer to her cheeks - a shimmer she tried to conceal as well as she could, for he was not allowed to witness it. Even now did she turn away from Neltharion and back to her work. " We would give the whelps an ill example if I just rewarded you for doing nothing special. They are already spoiled enough. " But how would he try to earn it? Or would he simply take it, now that Atharia had rejected his request?

Ciel's Adventures in Dawntrail, Part 2

Since the story for Dawntrail seemed to have fairly distinct story breaks I'm going to try to format my posts to fit. Let's call this one the Dawnservant succession arc part 1.

During this part of the story we all get to know Wuk Lamat - but also her family. We learn about her father's deeds through her journey in his footsteps, as well as what she and her brothers value and hope for Tural. We also get to know all the various peoples in and around the land she calls home.

I feel like this is a delightful series of stories with some great character development done throughout. Your player character takes a bit of a back seat so that they can guide someone in their own story, and I think that is a nice thing to be able to do at this point. Ciel has seen some shit? Not everything has to be happening to her all the time, and yeah, maybe she does have some advice to give after all her life experiences.

We opted to start by visiting the Pelupelu, which got us a fun making something out of nothing trading up story that I really enjoyed. This kind of thing is usually side quest material in a few other games that are dear to my heart, and its usually side quest material that I like if its not too onerous, so this was just a good time. Watching Wuk Lamat get over her discomfort with alpacas was also pretty cute - as are the alpacas themselves. They do little hops!

Next we were off to help at Ok'Hanu. We help them rebuild their festival and gawk at the colourful feathers, flora and fauna in the mountains. The waterfalls here are gorgeous! It will definitely be a favourite zone for screenshots in the future. The night theme here is just wonderful and I can't wait to get the orchestrion down the road.

I quite liked the first dungeon if I recall - the river boat was neat. FFXIV manages to do that thing where the instance is in or on a vehicle in a way that I don't absolutely hate/is excruciating. I have PTSD from doing the challenge modes for that one train dungeon in World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor and it hasn't ever quite gone away, so I just kind of quietly appreciate not hating being on a boat or train or whatever whenever it comes up.

After this we make our way to the moblin settlement to help them with their need for helphands. We get one of those stories where two people care for each other very much so make each other gifts that end up using up the thing that the other person made them the gift to compliment. I liked this place but I hate those kinds of stories. They're always so sad. Otherwise helping the moblins was a delight. I am well versed in gobbietalk at this point and can trade tongueflaps with the most difficult to understand of peoples. I do wonder how they manage to make all their pot houses - do you think fire magic is involved? Anyway. Fun place. Good stuff!

I'm of the opinion here that Wuk Lamat is a delight. I know this expansion would probably drag a bit if you're not a fan of hers. Fortunately her unceasing optimism I thought was just lovely to be around.
