Never before has Louis heard his pulse beat so loudly between his ears. It’s unbearable, like rolling thunder through his veins, pounding and pounding and pounding in his chest, in his throat, right behind his eyeballs as he sits absolutely paralyzed by his lover’s gaze. 

Perhaps, in hindsight, he didn’t fully anticipate what it would entail when Armand had asked to tie him up. He’d said yes, of course, as he always does. Whatever he wants, Louis will always say yes. 

But that had been eons ago, when he was fully clothed and in his right mind. It’s a different feeling altogether now. The patterned fabric of the imported French armchair feels funny against his naked skin. The floor feels so cold against his feet. There is a draft coming in from the window and it feels so blissfully cool on his flushed skin. He can’t remember the last time he felt so painfully aware of his body. It edges on humiliating, the way Armand stares at him with that hunger in his eyes. Louis never was one for compliments. It feels downright degrading. 

If he wanted to, he could break free of the restraints just as easily as snapping twine. Perhaps that is the most degrading thing of all: that he is here by choice. That he WANTS this.

“Come closer,” he’s already making demands that he knows will not be met, but he doesn’t know what else to do. Surely he’ll die if he does not say something. “Please.”
