I come from a civilian town, a farming village. I met my husband when he was on a long mission in my area. For him, I came to Konoha, a lovely village sustained by a system that churns out child soldiers.

I don’t understand. Why are these children groomed to want to be shinobi from the time they can walk? They all want to go to the Academy, and then become Genin, and then Chūnin, and then Jōnin, if they even survive that long. What happened to childhood?

My son idolizes his father for the same reasons I did: his strength, nobility, and prowess with the sword. But it has all been turned around now. The older my son gets, the harder he trains, to the point of harming his health. And my husband applauds his successes.

I do, too…of course I am proud of him…but I wish he had the safe childhood of a farm boy instead. He would still work hard and learn useful skills. But he wouldn’t be constantly putting his life on the line. Why, one of his teammates died when they were teenagers, and the other was tortured beyond recognition. What kind of a world is this? Sometimes I want to run away home and take my son with me.

But Hayate is grown now. My chance to do that has passed. He is swiftly approaching his father’s level in kenjutsu. He has a girlfriend here who takes on even more dangerous missions than he does. Every time I see my husband or my son, I know it might be the last time I see them. I’ve lived with this stress for decades, but I don’t know how much longer I can take it.

"I've only had my bike for a few days and it's been amazing. I'd thought I'd get stopped by authorities or even trolls who'd think they'd get an easy target. Ya know they see a yellow blood in nice clothes and on an expensive bike. I haven't had too much of an issue surprisingly. I know my new ID when scanned will show Quincy as my employer but I think he put a tracer in the bike as well that'll read as his info when scanned so I don't get stopped while out. I think it's also been installed with bio signature recognition so it can't be started up without me being on it. But it's a small bike so it's not like a big highblood could ride off with it easy. They'd havta pick it up and carry it haha. I've also gotten some nice compliments from other trolls who also ride."
