Moving on from III though, I also think Ryou is autistic, but in more of an 'obvious weird kid' way.

Like. Ryou is very obviously weird. He writes letters to his dead younger sister (which I think is just a means of keeping in contact with someone at all, more on that later). Once he gets comfortable around Yugi and co (right around Battle City) he starts revealing a more mischievous side to himself that makes Jonouchi in particular uncomfortable. He loves weird occult stuff, it's probably one of his special interests. (The other, of course, is tabletop gaming.)

...And he's also incredibly lonely. His mother and sister are both dead, his father seems to be barely present (Ryou lives alone in that apartment), and he has a long history of being unable to keep friends. Monster World was his way of trying to connect with others, via a game he clearly adores, but then the Ring Spirit had to ruin that for him.

The Ring Spirit made his lonely state worse, too. Any time Ryou managed to connect with anyone at all, the Spirit would just seal their souls in minifigs as a twisted response to Ryou's desire to be able to play with them forever.

After all, Ryou's the 'weird kid' (read: autistic but no one realizes that's why he's like that). It's no surprise he'd cling to anyone who is remotely nice to him, even if they hurt him. He clings to his dead baby sister, he clings to the Spirit despite being repeatedly used by the Spirit and directly told he shouldn't trust him, he gets specifically excluded from trying to help Atem because Bobasa declared he was 'evil' and runs off crying, but remains friends with the Friendship Gang anyways because who else does he have?

this is my original character for yu-gi-oh duel monsters. her name is emiko koizumi and she works for kaiba–or with him, depending on your perspective. emiko is a popular recording artist world wide. it's hard to go anywhere without hearing her hit songs playing on the radio. although her music has lost its heartfelt spark since joining kaiba corp, she continues to release album after album to maintain relevancy. originally brought on to help expand the demographic of kaiba corp's users, her keen social skills led her to becoming the head of public relations and communications but often finds herself doing menial assistant work. when she's not dealing with errands or the aftermath of apocalyptic card games, she's usually found slumped in a chair texting on her phone. and she has a sock puppet account to complain about seto whenever he gets on her nerves–which is a lot! her public persona is captivating, considerate, and humble. the select few who have been around her long enough would say she's superficial, short-tempered, and never misses the opportunity to make a witty remark. however emiko describes herself as charismatic and ambitious. and, of course, she's a duelist! emiko claims to be incredible at the game despite never playing publicly. she built her deck based on aesthetics–not strategy–but manages to have a decently powered deck thanks to a previous collaboration with industrial illusions. if you ask emiko what her favourite card is, she would answer swords of revealing light. in reality, her favourite card is the dark magician which she does not own. emiko doesn't consider herself to have many close friends, but enjoys the company of the kaiba brothers, miho nosaka, and ryou bakura. she's been known to fraternize with yugi mutou, joey wheeler / jounouchi katsuya, and anzu mazaki, but rarely has enough free time to join them on their adventures. she's indifferent towards hiroto honda but keeps her comments to herself for miho's sake. like many members of the group, she does have a tie to ancient egypt but i'll save that for another post. thanks for reading! 🤍

He would be THE CUTESTTT. The most adorable BOYFRIEND. Just, he is so precious

Canonically speaking, he is a sensitive and kind guy. Not only he is constantly apologetic but is easy to fluster

He would blush so hard every time you flirt or compliment him

Literally the audio “oh? I am pretty boy? Pretty?” Cue to him being an awkward, flustered mess while inside he is giggling and kicking his feet 

I can see him with someone who’s just as gentle as him, but that can also bring him out of his shell. Not an extrovert, but those types of introverts who can become extroverts with the right people you know? 

Someone who will show him it’s ok to stand up for yourself. Maybe, even someone who’s extremely confident in themselves and will not take shit from anyone. He would find that so hot 

Also, you bet he will be so supportive of you. He is such a supportive teammate, I can’t imagine him being any less with his partner. Coming to see you at your events. Wanna change jobs? Hell yeah, he is right with ya. Wanna travel the world? He has already packed a bag

However, he also has another side. The more competitive, arrogant if not prideful side, when he knows he is right. When he knows he will win. I see this coming out more when he is jealous. He won’t necessarily sulk, but he will be perhaps overconfident for some. “Why would I be jealous? I mean, look at them and look at me? Why would my partner leave me for that?”

His life motto is literally "Don’t do bad things to people that have been done to you"

One of his hobbies is drawing manga. I like to think some of his favourite subjects in school was art and literature. He would draw his s/o 100% From little sketches from before you two got together to proper artwork gifted to you as an anniversary present once together

His type is literally “a drifter girl”.  Meaning he is attracted to a girl who is free-spirited, independent and doesn’t settle in one place for long

Maybe someone who often moves around and is not tied down by commitments or routines. Someone who doesn’t necessarily fit the societal standard. A spontaneous, adventurous and a tad mysterious soul

I can see him with a foreigner. Someone who is from another culture, someone that brings another side to the equation. Travelling with him around the world is truly something not too far fetched. He would be so down

Lastly, he is very good at cooking. Which I feel is one of his love languages. Acts of service/cooking and quality time maybe sprinkled with some words of affirmation— but more for him to receive honestly

Still, he would most definitely try out new recipes and have you there to try them. Or even cook bentos for you too!

These are the first attempts to draw them and God... Ryou's hair... I can never draw them the same way, but I even like it. Because of this, I got a headcanon on Ryou's unruly hair and his unwillingness to deal with it somehow. Like, sometimes they look good, and sometimes they look like a disaster, but he just doesn't care. At most, he can try to smooth them with water (it doesn't really help) ((and he's still pretty even with messy hair if you ask me 💅))

Activities – What are their favorite things to do with you? How do you spend your free time?

Canonically he likes drinks with dinner, and soccer. Getting a chance to do those things with you is his dream! He loves cooking dinner with you and then sitting at the table to eat together, beers or wine on the side. While he loves soccer and kicking the ball around with you, he’s up for any sport you wanna play (secretly loves when you kick/throw the ball passed him and he has to go fetch)

Boo! – How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?

Enjoys receiving surprises, unless it involves loud noises then he might get aggressive. Loves to give surprises but isn’t all that great at it. It’s a learning curve :)

Comfort – How do they comfort you when you’re upset? When the tables turn, do they come to you, or try to handle it themselves?

If you’re upset, he can smell it. He’s gripping your shoulders gently, asking you to look at him, even if you’re crying. He’ll wipe away your tears and ask if you want to talk about it.

If the tables are turned, he tries to deal with it himself. He gets very agitated and aggressive so he’d rather you not be around him in that state.

Dance – Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?

Not very good at dancing and doesn’t like to. He’ll sway with you in the living room but he will not participate in any dancing challenges or dancing in public

Excitement – How do they act when they’re excited? What excites them?

His tail wags, tongue hanging out with a goofy grin. He gets excited when someone takes his advice or praises him

Future – What are their plans for the future? Do they see themselves getting married, having kids?

He would like to settle down, I think, but being a Pro hero makes that hard. He wants his own kids, but he’s also around a lot of teenagers when working at UA so he could almost go either way.

Gifts – What do they give you as presents? How often do they get you gifts?

So… his idea of gifts is different than others. He gets people what he thinks they need vs what they actually want. If you’ve filled your whole sketchbook/notebook, he’s getting you a new one.

Hold – How do they hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands…

He’s always got his hands on your shoulders or a hand on your low back. When cuddling he loves when you lay on top of him, your head on his chest

Ideal – What’s their ideal date like?

Dinner with drinks!

Jealousy – Do they get jealous easily? How do they handle it?

Yes. Can smell when someone else’s scent is on you and he hates it. He acknowledges that sometimes it’s friends/family/ or something that can’t always be helped, but it still greatly annoys him.

Kisses – How do they like to kiss you? How frequently do you kiss?

He has a dog mouth. While it’s hard to kiss in the typical fashion, he does manage to kiss your cheek frequently. If he’s feeling mischievous, he’ll lick your mouth by surprise to make you giggle

Love – How do they show you that they love you?

Acts of Service & Quality Time

He loves knowing you’re well protected and taken care of. He cherishes time spent with you, especially because of his busy schedule

The first time you called him your mate, he thought he died and went to heaven. Your mate? You, his mate? You may just give him a heart attack with words like that.

He loves seeing you sleeping in his bed. The way you curl up underneath his blankets. You just look so pretty and peaceful, so content

Nicknames – What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?

He calls you his mate, his love, or his heart. He likes how his name sounds from your mouth, but he also likes when you call him your love or your mate

Obvious – How obvious do they make it that they like you?

It’s hard to hide his tail wagging and the slight blush on his face whenever he thinks of you. Seeing you out and about? He tries so hard to play it cool but his ears perk up and his tail wags and he’s just so cute!!!

Pets – Do they have pets? Do they want them?

I think he likes animals, but also he is a dog, that’s his quirk. Plus he’s so busy all the time with UA and being a Pro hero, I don’t think he’d really have the time to take care of a pet.

Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

He’s a fairly quiet guy, honestly, but actual quiet moments are so peaceful and relaxing, just reading together by the window. He’ll even feed you a snack if you ask nicely

Romance – How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?

I don’t see him as being particularly romantic. He learns some things that you find romantic and he tries to do those every so often. Maybe buying you flowers once a month, or taking you on a nice date every week

Safe – What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?

He doesn’t need much, just wants to know you and his home are safe and well protected. 

Tend – How do they act when you’re hurt or sick, and vice versa?

He can smell the sickness before you even start showing symptoms. Man is all about the early stages and killing the illness before it has a chance to fester. Read: zinc tablets, vitamin C supplements, pungent soups, the earlier you’re over your sickness the better! If you’re hurt, it’s the most gentle you’ll ever see him. He growls and gets angry but the way he holds your sprained wrist like you’re delicate and he might break you with the slightest twitch is the sweetest thing.

If he’s sick, honestly it’s unlikely with all the vitamins, but if he is, as much as he wants you to take care of him, he doesn’t want you getting sick so no, you cannot come feed him pungent soup. If he’s hurt, he’s seeing Recovery Girl to heal up quickly but you’re still welcome to coddle him a little bit.

Unique – What’s an unusual thing about them that’s oddly charming?

He always greets you by sniffing the side of your neck, his breath tickling your ear

Variety – Do they prefer to keep things the same, or spice it up?

I think he likes to keep things the same. The schedule, the routine. He’s open to spicing things up every once in a while, though.

Wash – What’s it like taking a bath with them, or helping them wash up after a fight?

He doesn’t like bathing with you bc he smells like wet dog but he loves helping you wash in the bath or just sitting in the bathroom while you take a bath

XO – How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?

Does not show pda. Will hold your hand in public and is known to get very possessive

Yearn – What do they do when they miss you?

He keeps a picture of you in his wallet to look at while he’s away. If able, he’ll call you to hear your voice. In more extreme cases, he tends to keep an item of yours with him so he has your scent

Zzz – How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?

When sleepy, he gets grumpy and clingy. He doesn’t wanna let you go even if you have to pee. When he finally goes to sleep, it’s with you tucked into his side or laying on top of him, face tucked into the crook of his neck

Reupdating my Yu-Gi-Oh Future Headcanons list AGAIN XD

All my headcanons are from the Duel Monsters portion of the series, most of which are influenced by the anime and personal thoughts and ideas.

Atem has a thing for anything strawberry. Strawberry drinks, baked goods, artisan goods, you name it. If it's got strawberry, Atem will almost certainly eat it. Even as Yami, he would take over Yugi's body sometimes to enjoy strawberry flavors(Yugi thought it was silly but also was happy Yami had something he liked)

Of course, my headcanon of Kaiba treating Yugi like a second little brother after Atem departs. Seriously, Yugi becoming an unofficial Kaiba brother because of Seto's love for Atem and feeling bad that Yugi doesn't have his own big brother now is something that feeds me life.

Atem's last name is Sennen. His full name is Atem Yami Sennen

Kaiba's full name is Seto Ryuuki Kaiba. Sometimes Atem calls Seto by his middle name, and Seto loves how whispery and velvety Atem says it.

Kaiba and Mokuba's birth surname is Konami. Their parents names were Sara Rose Vinciani and Akira Seto Konami(called Aki for short)

Seto and Mokuba's mother was an Italian immigrated to Japan. Her mother was pureblooded Italian and her father Egyptian. Their father had a Japanese mother and father, the father having a Mexican father. The brothers will occasionally celebrate traditions from Mexico, Italy, and Egypt as a way to maintain a connection to their happier past and those early memories that still bring them comfort.

Kaiba and Atem are 100% gay and demi, Yugi is bisexual and nonbinary(goes by he/they pronouns)

Kaiba and Atem are both intersex, Kaiba's intersex biology allows for childbearing, but it's not something he likes to think about or really wants, as pregnancy means a loss of control over his own body, and Kaiba can't imagine not having control.

Atem eventually returns through magic nonsense and everyone is overjoyed to have him back (Yugi and Kaiba especially, for their own reasons)

Kaiba has a cat. Her name is Zahra and he adopts her from a shelter not long after the Ceremonial Duel, telling Mokuba things are feeling a bit lonely and maybe a pet would help make their home a little less empty. Despite his cold exterior, Kaiba loves animals and would adopt every single one from every shelter in the world if he could.

Atem loves cats and hits it off with Zahra(Kaiba doesn't like that he's no longer her favorite person but Atem spoils her as much as he does so he supposes its fine), and for some reason, strays gravitate towards him and he occasionally comes home with a new cat in his arms, announcing. "Ryuuki, another one chose me!", and Kaiba just goes with it, loving how the mansion staff are now always kept on their toes by the MANY cats now running amok.

Kaiba's favorite of Atem's little cat herd(also called a clutter) is Luna, a pretty tortoiseshell with golden eyes and dainty white paws. She gets attached to him rather than Atem(much to Kaiba's delight)

Later down the line, Kaiba finds an abandoned corgi puppy. Unable to ignore the creature, he takes her home to Atem and their many cats. They name her Duchess as she quickly becomes a spoiled pup.

Yugi and Marik are a couple. I just think they're cute together. They'd eventually have a son(Kaiba helps them create their son by taking Yugi and Marik's DNA and making the baby in a tube in his lab. Because I'm absolutely certain Kaiba could do that sort of thing if he tried) and name him Atemu, after Atem. Because Yugi just loves his brother so much. (cue Uncle Atem shedding tears of joy), and when Atemu is 2, they have twins; a son and daughter named Toki and Tera.

Atem and Kaiba get married and Atem 100% is in charge of wedding planning cause he has better tastes than Kaiba when it comes to this sort of thing. And Atem convinces Seto to let him wear a dress for the wedding. Kaiba becomes Seto Kaiba-Sennen.

Kaiba and Atem eventually have twins unplanned, a daughter named Kaida and a son named Yami, both taking Atem's last name of Sennen. The pregnancy is full of complications for Kaiba due to his unique situation, and the changes to his body cause a lot of dysphoria, but Atem is always there for him when things get rough, knowing that Seto can get through this with the strength and grace he applies daily.

At Atem's insistence, Kaiba seeks therapy for all his trauma he's endured throughout his life. He doesn't like it, but admits it helps him in the long run, saying his head is less fucked up than it used to be.

Joey becomes a KC Security Officer because he's "A good guard dog", according to Kaiba.

Tea becomes a successful dancer on Broadway, landing many lead roles. Yugi and friends are glad to see her follow her dreams, and occasionally, Kaiba will sponsor musicals and plays that Tea is in, his way of showing his friendship.

Tristan opens a martial arts and self defense studio, wanting to teach others how to protect themselves and the ones they care about.

Bakura begins to work for the museum, and always manages to rope Atem into helping during his free time, as Atem WAS an ancient Pharaoh.

Atem works graphic design for Kaiba Corp (he's a surprisingly good artist)

Yugi works at Kaiba Corp for the game development division. Sometimes he brings Atemu and Toki into the office with him, and he tries to coordinate dates where Kaida and Yami are brought in when Seto and Atem come to work so their kids can bond with each other. (Yugi wants his sons to have a deep connection with their cousins asap.)

Atemu looks a lot like his namesake uncle, thanks to the combo of Yugi's hair and Marik's complexion, but his eyes are Marik's lavender. Toki and Tera are pale like Yugi with soft, sandy-colored hair like Marik, and Yugi's amethyst eyes.

Kaida looks a lot like her father Atem, bearing his tri-tone hair, although the ends of hers are blue instead of red, she bears his darker complexion, and the shape of her eyes is quite similar to his. She gets Seto's blue eyes. Yami, however, is a mini Seto Kaiba with Atem's purple eyes. (the little guy has already mastered the 'Kaiba scowl')

Later down the line, Atem and Kaiba have two more kids. Ryuuki and Sara. Both kids have Atem's dark complexion. Sara's hair is black and wavy and she has Kaiba's blue eyes. Ryuuki, however, much like his brother Yami, has Kaiba's brown hair and Atem's amethyst eyes.

a couple years after Sara's birth, another pair of twins blesses their family. Noctis and Koyo. Both are piebald, but it's much more prominent on Noctis, whereas Koyo's piebald is a tiny, heart-shaped spot on his forehead. Noctis was named for the night he was born in, and Koyo for the red leaves of the autumn season that welcomed him and his brother.

And a few years after, Atem and Kaiba welcome their final child. Samira. She's much more quiet and reserved than all her siblings, and is partially deaf in one ear. However she is treated no different than her siblings and is loved by everyone who meets her, charmed by her gentle demeanor and kindness

People often ask Kaiba why he had so many children when he was uncertain of being a parent in the first place. His answer is simple; "I'm having the family myself and my brother didn't have growing up; a big, happy family that loves and cares for each other."

Mokuba absolutely adores his nieces and nephews, being sure to talk about them to anyone who will listen(or is forced to). He also spoils them whenever he can, wanting to give Kaida, Sara, Ryuuki Yami, Noctis, Koyo, and Samira the whole world, wanting them to have a childhood full of certainty and light, unlike what he and Seto had. Uncle Mokuba ftw.

Kaiba rebrands Kaiba Corporation to Sennen Corporation.

Joey eventually finds a nice girl and hooks up with her, and Atem, being a former Pharaoh, officiates Joey's wedding.

Joey soon becomes a dad, having four kids. Jack, Jana, Kaden, and Jacob. The little ones are a handful, having Joey's spirit and knack for trouble. And Kaiba says "Wheeler, the world had enough of you, why'd you add four more?" the first time he meets the kids. However is is quite fond of them, as his children have friends to grow up with.

Joey also has a dog. Well, it's more his wife's dog than his. A white Shiba Inu by the name of Sundae, who makes herself the official babysitter of Joey's four kids.
