"I dunno if I 'ike the idea of 'his? But I guess i'll play along but the second ya laugh 'hats it!"
- what your muse’s name is in mine’s phone
'Old Man' / '❤️Dad🏒'
"I switch it sometimes, mostly to annoy Dad, if 'm showin' 'im somethin' on my phone where his name will show I always switch it to old man. Cause he 'ikes to say he ain't old and 'hats he cool. Both are wrong, he is old and lame." She smiles a little "Okay okay he's kind of cool but I ain't tellin' 'im 'hat. I siad it once an' he won't let me live it down. I dunno I jus' 'ike teasin' Dad. I guess I got 'hat habit from Pops? he also teases Dad a lot. More 'han I do? But Dad dose it too, think it's just how we show love? Hazing each other 'ike Dad wanting to embrass me all the time be messing with my hair an' callin' all the names but my own at school and practice."
- what your muse’s picture is in mine’s phone
[Image description] It's a photo of Casey, with their now family dog Cooper, Summer snapped it when Casey was clearly playing with the dog at the time. The pup happily Licking Casey's face as he pet their head.
"Ya it ain't hard to be a Daddy's girl when ya only got dad's but I sort always seen it 'ike i'm Dad's buddy. Since we talk 'bout hockey all the time. We lovingly yell at each other. Dad hypes me up before games and such. We like to annoy Pop's together by ganging up on him. 'ike in our group chats I dunno how many times we made pop's remove himself from them. Between Dad's need to text every one line of thought and my emoji's yeah the chats a mess." She smiles softly "and 'ight now? dad's havin' a tough time dealin' with Grandma's death. I can sort get it. Grandma was kind of all he really had afta all. Be 'ike if I lost my Dads. I'd be a mess too. I know he tryin' to act 'ike he ain't a mess but he's a mess. Been a mess Pops an' I see it we talk 'bout it. I 'hink Pop's is tryin' his best to let Dad be a mess because he needs to be allowed but I don' 'hink Dad was lettin' himself be one much either. I dunno what happened but Dad seem more willin' to be down but losin' Grandma. And yeah he still sad but he ain't 'ike acttin' 'ike he can't be. So it's nice seeing Dad able to just breath and feel. Especially since we got Cooper now even if Pop's gotta share Dad even more now."
"Sides..I jus' want Dad to not worry 'bout all us so much. An' learn to take care of himself too. Even if i give 'im things to worry 'bout"
- what your muse’s ringtone is in mine’s phone
"I'll Always be you Baby" by Natalie Grant
You taught me how me to walk and how to dream
God gave me your eyes
But it was you who showed me how to see
Now I can stand on my own
But I know you'll never let go
Im butting if a second here I had to do this bit cause Summer had Blue eyes like Casey and Casey always insists Summer was given to them by an angle ;3; sooo yes ;3; when summer gets married this is the song she has play when she dose her dance with Casey. She do a different one with raph cause fuck everyone shes getting two father daughter dances ;3;
"I look up to Dad a lot in truth. Dad's my Hero if I had to pick an' I got lotta school junk to prove it too. Dad looks out and helps everyone. Dad ain't got much but a hockey stick but never stopped him. His Dad wasn't a good guy either but...Dad learned to over come 'hat and Loves Pops wit' all he got. Be full mush with me too. An' well even though Dad don' always 'ike 'hat i'm growin' up? I'll all be his baby. I know I can always count on Dad. I may go to him later 'han he 'ikes but I dunno I just know I can no matter what. If so dick breaks my heart and I don' tell him for months. I can still cry over it later. If I make a mistake I can fess up to him no matter what. I don' 'hink Dad sees how much I do trust him...I wish I was betta 'bout openin' up sooner. If I were a betta Daughter maybe I would. Hell if I were betta I wouldn' get into the shit I do uh? I wouldn' make 'em worry so much afta' all."

Ariel [sister from another mister -aflockoffeathers]
they may be cousins but they are more like sisters they just dont have the same dad uwu don’t matter if they were sisters they would cause twice as much trouble so its for the worlds best uwu
Donatello [ He wreak havoc get ready for part two -aflockoffeathers] Whats worse than one raph? two uwu Donnie already dealt with Raph growing up and all his nonesense and now hes got part two good thing she’s his niece uwu
Yvoone [ two of a kind - aflockoffeathers]
Considering Summer has to see first hand how hard it is for Raph to try and live a normal life I can see her holding aspeical intrest and investment in what her Aunt is trying to do. She dont wanna wait for the futre where mutans like her dad can walk free she wants it sooner u-u
Casey [ watch me shine watch me grow - aflockoffeathers]
Okay so this one I have to [link] the song too cause it seems very fitting for Casey and Summer ;3; and I just really love this song and kind of reflects off the tag you have. Cause Casey standing there at her crib promising everything he was going to do for Summer ;3;
Ariel [ it’s okay to feel sad it’s okay to cry - aflockoffeathers]
SOOOO I stole this from another sitcom I love uwu cause Raph and Ariel’s relationship is likely going to be simllair to the uncle and niece in the show Shes basically gonna be Raph’s little buddy, and like another daughter to him. Considering who her dad is? yeah Raphs will always tell her she can be sad and she can cry to him if she needs uwu even if its about a bug u-u
Ariel [ open your eyes let’s begin - aflockoffeathers]
Okay so one Moana is often refereed to being the opposite of The Little Mermaid so I picked a song from there cause Mikey is often seen as the opposite of Donnie. This is from the your welcome in part cause of the ask where she learned hes the Turtle Titan uwu but also cause you know hes gonna be teaching his niece theres a lot other things to enjoy in life cause her parents are nerds u-u
Splinter (i need to icon 07 XD)
Ariel [ let them pass you and go your own speed - aflockoffeathers] So I kind of stole this from my papa (grandpa) it was something he used to tell me so grandpa advice uwu. Seeing how Ariel wanna be part of the human world wishes to be human and even gets curious about her other grandpa it seems fitt here too

Summer - Have you ever ... felt like Casey wasn't your real dad, because Hun is your biological dad?
| send my muse ‘have you evers’ and they have to answer truthfully!
Summer was getting better at dying her hair by herself as she got older. Aunt Yvonne often did it for her since she was the one with the most experience when it came to it. Sometimes her Dad, Casey, helped even after her freak out sometime ago. It had become a nice way to bond with her Dad though. But now? Now she could handle it one her own. Mixer blow was filled with the dye and developer as Summer dipped in the brush and worked to paint one some on to the section of hair she was currently working on. It was quite the look, clips and a plastic bag used to section off sections of her hair. So it was twisted into pony tails and buns going in so many different directions on her head. For about as long as Summer could recall she always had some color in her hair.
Red streaks in her sandy blonde hair, so to have more red on her. It was like her family color in a sense, least that was how Summer saw it. Raphael wore a red mask around his face even his sai had red on them. His shellcycle was red as well. Then Casey, always had a red shirt himself, a tank or short sleeve. For a short time he also sorted te same red streaks in his own hair. Even their dog wore a red bandanna around his neck. It was always how Summer saw herself to tie in with her Dad’s.
Though she kind of got rid of them when she started to just dye her hair a similar blue black like Casey own hair was. In truth? It was like a correction needed to be made once Summer over heard the truth.
Summer knew she was adopted of course she knew that. Set aside the fact she had two dad's once of them was a turtle mutant. Even if she was convinced for a time she was born from an egg. But she knew at some point she came from someone else. But it never really phased her it was just one of those obvious facts. Like, her eyes were blue. Something that she didn't think about to hard. Till she found out who those people were. It wasn't so much Gabe's that effected her. In some weird way she felt had that women not hurt her Dad she wouldn't be with her Dad's now. It was more where the blonde hair of hers came from.
Being the daughter of Casey Jones and Raphael, she heard about the purple dragons a lot. Almost a bed time story for her growing up, even to this day the purple dragon gang was still active. But more so heard the tales of Hun. The once right hand man to the leader of the foot clan even and Leader of the purple dragon clan. He was the one who burned down the shop Casey's father owned and killed him even. Summer had mix feelings already on all of that learning her grandpa was an awful man himself.
once she had a good coverage of the black blue over her head she grabbed for the second bowl of hair color. The red once more being returned. Her own favorite color was hit pink herself. But red was her family's color. She felt a connection to the color it gave her shes not sure maybe confidence? She claimed it as her lucky color as well. After all look who also wore red and found her. Took her in and gave her this current life.
Bowl and brush tossed into the sink to be cleaned out later as Summer let the dye start to set. Walking out from the bathroom, her Dad's were out. Date night so to speak, meaning those two were likely causing hell in the city though part of Summer had a bit of a suspicion that they were down at the docks being gay and sappy with one another. Walking to the fridge to grab whatever left over food was available for her to eat. She let her mind keep wondering for once letting her thoughts roll around her skull. She never thought she come face to face with Hun. But when she did?
It was surreal. Of course, she was just a tool to lure out her Dad's and the others. Bur finally being face to face with him? Of course, everyone could buy into Summer needed time to be alone after that. Why she wasn't over at Ariel's, or hanging out with her or even with Aspen right now. She was pretty sure it was why her Dad's seemed fine with her being home alone. Even as a teen they worried. She found some a box of Chinese take out, and grabbed a fork before making herself comfortable on the couch. TV turned on to catch the highlights of all the games over the weekend coming up. While she ate her dinner cold, it just had a nice added touch. So did left over pizza, or burritos or tacos. More like Summer just didn't want to pop food in the microwave sometimes cause she was raised by two caveman who sometimes just wanted to eat and not think much more about it.
That whole time Summer was left just waiting and waiting for help to come that she knew would. Feeling beyond guilty because she knew she caused the issue. She truly was no better than her DNA coding uh? Always causing trouble for her Dad when all he wanted was..to be her Dad. Was she worth all the trouble? Was she even something to be proud of? To gush over? To call dumpling or Dim Sum and all the other nicknames he used over her actual name at times. Maybe Summer was just punishing herself, for being Hun's daughter. Not so much being stupid and going to see Gabes that day. Being why that man found her. When she looked at him she felt fear. But not because he was a large towering guy, because...that's who she was right?
Summer snapped out of her thoughts when hearing the timer on her phone go off, looking down to the container of food now empty. She must have spaced out. She got up and went back into the bathroom to wash out the dye from her hair leaning over the side of the tub as she watched it all running down a mixture of res and blue black. Making sure to scrub her nails into her hair so now of it was left behind well waiting for the water to run clear. She still held on to the image of Hun in her mind. He was just the opposite of everything her Dad was. Not just in appearance but where he was cruel? Casey was kind. For a man who loved ice Hockey so much he was warm. A marshmallow like her pop's always jokingly called him. He was soft and loving and hugged her so tightly once she was safe. Didn't matter how banged up he was.
'Don't you touch my kid'
That echoed in her mind, as she pulled her head out from the water she toweled off most of the water off before standing up to grab for her hair dryer now. Part of her always wondered if her Dad ever doubted she was his kid as he called out that day. Summer could have come from anywhere though and he feel the same wouldn't he?
Once her hair was dry she looked in the mirror to check the end result. She smiled as she grabbed two hair ties and twisted some of her hair into twin bun's that hung at the end of her head. Blue black hair on top with two streaks of red to frame her freckled face. And under it was her sandy blonde hair that even she hadn't seen in a long time because she knew where it came from now. She heard the noise of her Dad's voices coming from the window by the fire escape and excitedly ran out to show her new look. "Dad! Pops! Whatcha' think!"

Summer Jones - Family Meme; all that apply uwu
| Talking about family
"It's not often I getta talk 'bout my full family so I don' mind talking more. Since I ain't gotta talk around the fact most my family aint human. Like Aunnie April and my grandma. Hmm? oh Dad? Nah Pop's filled me in. Dad ain't human he just passes for one."
Send 👔 for my muse to talk about their father
"Oh boy my Dad's uh? Well what isn't there to say? My Dad's are well my Dad's I know that don' say much but I guess I jus' don' know what to say to really say just well how lucky I am to have my Dad's ya know? How many kids got two parents who love 'em and support everythin' that do? 'ike if I get in a fight it ain't ever what did I do wrong it's did ya win?" She laughs a bit. "Pop's is always more quite and moody looking but he's a big softie. I think most would see all the scares and missing eye and be scared. But he's just always got stuff on his mind. He always home when I get there and makes sure to say bye if he slips out to hide out at the lair. We sit up on the roof and look at the stars together. He taught me how to throw a correct punch. It never really matter how bad I mess up Pop's never makes me feel like anything's too bad for me not to come home. Dad's no different, some see this giant and muscular gay rollin' up on his bike but Dad's a big ol' marshmallow himself. Always giving me hugs and be gross and embarrassing callin' me dumpling and all that. He always cheers the loudest at my games and practice. He tries to play the role of a normal parent. Always saying to clean my room for some reason? But Dad's not a normal parent. He ain't a normal nothin' and he's best when he just being that."
Summer obviously is adopted, left outside the door of Casey's apartment. Funny enough when Raph and Casey were dealing with their baby fever at its worse. An angel finally answering them and giving them Summer. Summer truly has no normal set of parents. Two Dad's that have shared different ways of fighting. Raph how to throw a punch right so she don't break her thumb and Casey taught her how to swing a hockey stick not only to hit a puck right but slam into someones gut to knock the wind out of them. Summer is a full on tomboy herself. She knows hockey stats better than math equations so it's a good thing she got some smart family members as well. Summer is closer to Casey but that because he's able to do more with and for her. Casey the one she looks up to and wants to be like when she gets older. To her Casey is this guy who cares a lot about others and will do anything to help his family. He may not do it the best way but his heart is in the right place. It's way anything thing she could do that may disappoint Casey hurts her most. And why she fears doing that in the first place despite it not being possible to happen at all. Raph is deff her biggest support if she can't go to Casey right away it Raph she goes to and talks with. Raph often has to reassure her worries. And it's kind of why she doesn't fear saying the things she might even if it comes out wrong. She got Raph's bluntness and Casey I don't know when to shut my mouth mixed together. Not to mention shes a idiot like the pair of them. She may be hell on wheels but Casey and Raph both know their daughter well and how to be there for her and Summer knows that too. Even if she has fear losing her family before she knows shes could never really lose them or do anything to make them stop loving her its the irrational fear of a child. But Summer really can say her Dad are more than parents they are her best friends she can pal around with them but she has learned to sort of try and watch after them herself. She gets on them both for smoking and limits their drinking to at least one can. If they gonan listen to anyone it's thier baby girl.
Send 🤜 for my muse to talk about (one of) their sibling(s)
"Oh Ari! Well we aren't technically sisters but she's my sister and I dint care 'bout facts anyway. Why I don't know many outside hockey and other sports. Ari a bit older than me but she don't act it like at all. She's my best friend as well. She kind of hurts my feelings cause she's always on and on about how she the only one in her situation so she bottles all that shit up. And even shuts me out. But she's the one I tell everything first even about Hun. I dunno why she feels she can' or that I won't get it. Feels...kind of shitty. I try to be there despite all 'hat shit though. Cause we're cousins but we're more than thar we're sisters. Pops tells me 'bout how he and unca Donnie got this twin sense an' I wish we had it maybe I could help her more if we did ya know? She still my favorite person despite it all. I lpve hanging out with her even if I gotta watch the little mermaid all the time with her. Being with her just makes things better."
Summer and Ariel may be cousins but they might as well be sisters. I tend to forget but I think Ariel is possible a month older than Summer if not just a few weeks. They are seen as the next twins of the family and are just as close as Raph and Donnie. Two peas in a pod. Summer never not seen Ariel as a mutant she's just her sister. So she can be blind to Ariel's own hang ups and issues much like Ariel is with Summers. But Summer will always be there for her sister, to hang out or tell her when she is being dumb never above using her hockey stick to knock some sense into her sister.
Send 🦯 for my muse to talk about their grandparents
"I got my grandma and my gramps. Grandma is a tought lady who don' take shit from no body. An' she always tells me not to take shit for no body either. I visited her a lot before she passed away. Grandma was always nice to me grand kid privilege I guess funny watchin' her boss Dad around though. I miss her lots but I don't think it hurt me like it did Dad he got real weird when she passed on. Gramps also the same he more strict with my pop's and uncles than with me and Ari. We always got treats from him growing up. He tried teachin' me to mediate and such but I always napped instead. Pop's and Dad never liked that I was more an angel with gramps. But it's grampa course I am."
Summer has a grandparent from each side. Her grandma from Casey and Splinter aka Gramp's from Raph. Summer for sure is spoiled by both. I feel like she often visited with her grandma even without Casey around. She just loved her a lot, being a kid who was bullied for be well different a strong women who took shit from no one was a strong role model for summer. Splinter also can't tell me other wise isn't a grandparent who would spoil. Seeing how I think Splinter never once thought he might have grandkids himself. He love his son so much so you know grandkids would be just as loved. He takes to being grandpa right away I like to think he was first to hold Summer as well like he was with Ari. And he cried each time he loves them so much and he still dots on them and gives them treats no matter how big they get.
Send 🎣 for my muse to talk about (one of) their aunt(s)/uncle(s)
"I got a lot! Aunnie April is the only human aunt or uncle I got. She always there when I need her. Like coming to school to grab me when that time of the month first happened for me not fun. Then I got Aunnie Vonnie! She's kind of 'ike a mom ta me, she the one who tells me all the gross stuff, and tends to be more better with emotional shit I deal with since sadly im biologically a chick. She always let's me hide out with her too which is nice when I need it. Unca Leo is also my sensie so I tend to call him sensie over uncle. Auncle Mikey cause they feel loke they both male and female so I call them a number of things. Auncle, uncle, aunt and Pibling. Uncle Mikey like a big kid always playing games with us and teaching me about the best super heros and comics. I tend to help buy them for him too. Unca Donnie kind of like a third Dad ta me as well. When my Dad's are being too emotional unca Donnie the best to go to he least listens ta me. When my Dad's are too busy thinking a guy who likes me is a purple dragon."
Summer may not have a lot of friends but she makes up for it with family. Because she sure has a lot. She has two aunts and three uncles. April I feel is always helpful for things needed like getting pads and bras when summer has to start wearing them. She is closer to Von as she mentioned she sees her as a mother figure in her life and she kind of fills that place for her as well having a very strong maternal presence in Summers life. Her uncles I feel all fill in a different role in her life. Leo is the only one she dosent call uncle performing sensei. If not for Leo? Summer might be a bit more likely to get into fights at school. Ever since she bought her guitar and got chased by purple dragons. Leo felt knowing how to properly defend herself was important along with the displace thar comes with the style they all learned. Summer respect Leo a lot. Ironic consider raph and leos constant bricking. She only ever calls him.uncle when it's a pretty serious matter. Mikey is more like an older brother in her life. She often gets him comics and such of she sees a issues he might like. And will have sleep overs with him and Ari. Summer never gose to the girl nights to girly for her so this is a nice way for her to get that time instead. Donnie as mentioned is like a 3rd dad to Summer being a bit more reasonable and sensible than Casey and Raph ever can be. She tends to sit in his lab and dose homework only time she stays focused since she can ask him for help he explains it better than her teachers but he's known her for years so that helps.
Send 🐾 for my muse to talk about (one of) their pet(s)
"I got a pet rat and we got a dog as well! I've had my rat for years I found him hurt so I took him to a vet and kept him they said he would survive long back on the streets. I name him cheddar it's his favorite food. Then course we got Carter Dad's dog mainly but I think he likes me more."
As mentioned summers got a pet rat, originally I said summer was gonna be a teacher I changed it to a vet for alternate pets lile rat and reptiles. For obvious reasons of course. Summer found cheddar rats have a short life span but I aint using that logic the longest captive rats lived 7 years. So we're gonna let her last about 12 cause I said so. Of course Casey gets a support dog later on as well and Summer falls in love with the dog right away. Qhen wvee Vasey isn't in need of him Summers playing and spoiling them rotten.
In the CC verse I feel Summer of course will have both those pets still Chedder will be a hurt rat she finds in the barn. And I like to think shell have her own horse. I like to think she'll name them butterscotch uwu be a cute brown horse I thibk it be cuties if it happens to come from of of Casey's other horses ;3;

07 Summer Casey - Fatal Blow Meme
It was like the World went into slow motion when he witnessed his daughter being hurt. Casey stared, eyes wide and body frozen. He didn't comprehend what he just saw, but his feet moved before he could comprehend anything. He skidded to his knees, managing to catch her before she hit the floor. Casey's body was trembling as he held her, cradling her, like he once did when she was a baby...
When she was small, innocent, and with this whole life set out for her. No...no she still had a life! Casey knew it; they were Jones, they don't just give up...
"Summer darlin'," Casey spoke gently, in a comforting matter, "C'mon darlin', yer a'right...."
He spoke soothingly, to help her, and himself. He carefully lifted her, cradling her to his chest. He knew he was an idiot, but he wasn't stupid, he knew there was no fixing this. But as much as he wanted to scream and cry and hunt down the fucker that did this to his daughter...it wasn't him that mattered. It was Summer. Casey didn't want her scared.
"It's okay Dumpling...it's okay, dad's 'ere," Casey soothed, "It's okay..."
He kept his voice from wavering the best he could. He felt tears in his eyes, but he refused to let them fall.
"It's okay...it's okay..."
Casey found one solace, because he knew his ma would be there to look after her on the other side. Swallowing thickly, he pressed a kiss on her forehead, just holding her,
"Dad's got ya...it's alright...it's all gonna be okay..."
Even though, he knew things were far from okay, even though, he was losing his daughter...
| Fatal blow meme
Summer's oldest memory? She knew was of Casey her Dad. Even at such a young age she knew the sound of his deep husky voice. There was always something light about it though. Even when he got upset it was there. It's how she come to know her Dad's voice. A comfort to her since she could barely even crawl. Funny she sure whenever everyone else thought about her Dad it was always something else about him that stood out. His height, being the klutz he was, willing to go fight gang members and more with just a hockey stick, being seen as possibly insane even maybe. Not to Summer though, it was always his voice. The clam that it carried with it. For a guy that swore like it was a second language and had no clue what volume control meant. Thinking Casey's vice could be soft always was something only Summer would think when it came to her Dad. But those were always her first thoughts when it did come to Casey.
Funny in some sense that her biological sperm donor seemed to be a full opposite in just about ever way he could be. Summer knew about Hun, from stories her Dad's had told her about. Never thinking him a threat because her Dad's could always beat him. Maybe that was just some reassurance even after she learned the connection even she shared with Hun. He wasn't a threat.
Until she finally came face to face with the man. She knew she was just bait for her Dad. Year long feud between the pair but Casey didn't fall for those as much since her pop's was always with him to. It would take a lot for her Dad not to have his usual partner right beside him. Like the chance of their daughters life being at risk to lure Casey out and without the aid of the turtles. And Summer handed him that damn chance. This was all her doing all her fault, as if just being born was her crime alone. But that was how she felt and took it even to be. Made worse when her dad was thrown into the cell with her. Hun just gloating at his win and it made her hate him. Summer never hated anyone before. In her whole life. Despite everything she heard or been through herself. But Hun? the way he just tossed her Dad in as if he were no more than a discarded gum wrapper. Why put her dad through all of this if that just how he was going to deal with them?
If it weren't for her, her Dad wouldn't be in this situation. She isn't ungrateful or dumb she knew very well her Dad would do anything for her. Even do as Hun said. Come here with no back up, there was no way Pop's and and her uncles would let him though would they? Her Dad came without a word to anyone else. Because he had to for her. Was it really ever a wonder she did anything she did? The second the thought crossed her mind she followed it after all. Look who she learned these traits from. And one of them was here in this cell with her. Battered and bruised past recognition right now.
"Sorry 'bout ya movie star looks Dad, 'm sure Pop's will still think ya handsome." Summer said just grateful her dad was able to move and talk. That warmth and clam she knew his voice for was strong and in full swing. Why she was able to crack the joke she did, she truly believed everything was going to be okay. The reunion was short lived though heavy foot steps and deep taunting mockery voice and this new burning feeling in Summer only grew. Even when her Dad moved to shield her staying between her and Hun. This feeling was just taking her over like it seeped into her veins and was traveling into her heart. Everything about him she couldn't stand. Hadn't her hurt her Dad enough? going on about coming back for the second round wanting to make it worse so Summer would be there to witness it?
"Coward!" Summer finally spoke up spewing out the venom that was building up in the back of her throat. Not caring for what Casey may say to draw attention away from her. And she knew it, she knew her Dad's would do anything to keep her safe. And that just made everything going on worse for her. Moving to stand up "Acttin' 'ike some top dog but you had to use a little girl to even get my Dad here! Cause ya know he couldn't give a shit 'bout you anymore! and you Can' even make it a fair fight?" Summer mocked. Funny she was once so scared of Hun now? She saw nothing but some big joke. Though it didn't seem like Hun was taking to well to being mocked. Forcing Casey to stand saying something to Casey about teaching Summer not to run her mouth. But all his words were noting more than faint mumbling, as Summer's eyes grew large.
"Leave him alone!" Was all Summer could bring herself to do yell out as she tried to keep her grip on her Dad's arm tight, as if she could over power Hun in anyway. Summer wasn't one to give up to easy no matter, just adjusting her hold on Casey's arm holding on to him the best that she was able to do. It was all her fault all of this was simply her doing and she felt like she had to correct it. She just didn't want to see her Dad hurt anymore just for her sake of all things. She just wanted to make it up to him. For worrying him so much for being why he was forced into this whole mess. She knew her Pop's and Uncles would be here soon, he knew her Dad so well. Soon as they saw Casey was gone? they would know to come here. They just..they just had to hold out a little longer. "No!" Was all Summer could say as Hun kept trying to shake her off from Casey only growing more and more annoyed with this 'pest' as he kept calling her. And what happens to a pest?
Summer hardly felt the metal pipe slam against her skull, in fact she more felt how her grip on her Dad grew weak. Summer felt stunned at best but she manged to push the pain back. She been slammed during hockey games enough times to learn how to tough it out. Teeth grit as she found it in her to hold on to Casey again. The second she was hurt she heard her Dad. The struggle between the three of them only grew worse. Casey trying to fight off Hun for daring to land anything short of a finger aimed her way, so that hit? Was far over the line. But enough for Hun to decide he already done it once, the force of the pipe once against slam into Summer's head. This time she felt it for sure the shock from the last wearing off. At best Summer just stumbled but she held on followed her Dad's own movements as he tried to stay in between them. She knew the pair were shouting and fighting but she just couldn't let go it was the only real thought in her mind.
Another hit, and something just didn't feel right she swore for a second there she was looking at the ground and at Hun and her Dad and the same time? She squuezed her eyes shut she thought but could still see the floor? she tried to open both eyes but she could get her right eye to open now? it was like her focus was all on her left only? the whole right side of her face was in so much pain. Her mind was growing hazy as she was being shook left and right. She tried her best to focus on what was going on, She could only really see her Dad. For so reason she thought she was home, the sound of fighting was coming from the tv in the living room they must have been watching movies after one of her practices. An odd copper taste filled her mouth, must be from the overly old pot they used to cook in. There was red on her sleeve, did they eat chili or spaghetti that night? Pasta was heavy but good for carbs. She ate a lot of pasta during hockey season. It was a cheap and filling meal too though, between three big eaters. It always put her into a food coma. That must be why she felt so tried right?
"Dad" she spoke but was unheard, so she tugged on Casey's arm "Can you carry me to..bed" something smacked her again all she could hear was a ring her body grew limp and she fell heavily to the floor. Did she fall off the couch? she done it before. A lot hit her head on the coffee table once, heh scared both dad's to death. Maybe that's why her head hurt so much right now?
The whole room feel silent she just felt so tried now, practice must have been real hard. Coach only ran them ragged when he felt they were screwing around too much. Whatever they were watching must have gotten to the best scene the loud muffled sounds of yelling. A clear fight breaking out. She'll just have to watch it tomorrow must be good if neither of her dad's were telling her to go bed, she was too tried to do it anyway though. If she stayed like this long enough? one of them would pick her up and carry her to bed. Summer knew they wouldn't be able to just leave her on the floor like this. When she dose felt her self lift suddenly she notes there is no other sound going on? she'll just keep her eyes closed longer so she won't have to move on her own.
"Summer darlin',"
And there it is, that comforting tone, so full of warmth that Summer always known her Dad for. But she really dosent wanna get up she wants to stick to the act so she can be carried instead. So we'll acted she turly believes it herself.
"C'mon darlin', yer a'right...."
Did she really hit her head again? Why else would Dad be so worried. Once again she tried to open her right eye just won't she must be that tried she thinks but her left opens just fine. Unaware of the mess the right side of her face has become. The constant hits have caved it in. Where blonde roots would be seen were coated in red thick blood. Funny red was always their color, it was the color of Papa’s mask. The color Dad wore so often, a color Summer insisted was her ‘lucky’ color and there for had to always have red. And that why she would untie her papa’s mask from her sleeve and put it on to her hockey stick before a game. Summer isn’t sure why but her Dad calling her ‘Darling’ just sticks out far to much. She somehow comes to thier living room meals away and she’s right back in that cell and in so much pain.
"It's okay Dumpling...it's okay, dad's 'ere," Casey soothed, "It's okay..."
Despite that warmth and comfort Summer always felt when listening to Casey speak there something in their she hasn’t ever heard before, it’s almost like a good bye. It’s weird her Dad has told her bye before so many times why dose this hidden one? Carry such a sadness to it. Summer isn’t sure but part of her feels like even though her Dad is likely to get out from this cell and make it back home. He will be doing so by himself. She can’t even feel the feeling of his kiss on her forehead. She can’t feel anything in fact. She can’t feel that warmth that just radiates from her Dad s naturally that makes Papa and her cuddle up with him on winter nights to the skating rink as they keep hot cocoa in their hands and hr Dad, drapes the old blanket on side over each of the as they snuggle in against his sides. And papa remarks that Dad is naturally warm when ever Dad calls him a wuss because he snuck in when Dad was only trying to cover her. She wishes papa was here..not for any reason. Outside so she could tell him good bye too. She wishes she listened better to them, she thinks before letting her eye close once more.
"Dad's got ya...it's alright...it's all gonna be okay..."
It’s not though. An yet Summer finds a way to smile “I just wanna got a bed Dad, I don’ wanna walk myself.” Her act was broken but he would give in and carry her to bed like always. She was certain. Under different circumstances that is. “I’ll tell grandma hi, don’ worry.” She promises with one last breath.

[2k7 Casey Summer ;)]
Damn his body hurt like fucking crazy; it had been a while since he did a solo mission that led to this ass getting beat this badly. It was worth it though, maybe. He thinks so. Even if he was pissed that Hun was able to get the upper hand like that...
But Casey did what he needed, because Hun was also an idiot, and dragged his half conscious ass into a familiar looking room, with a little holding cell...where Summer was. Casey did his best to not react immediately, or put them both at risk of harm. He could use his brain, sometimes.
As soon as they were inside, and finally left alone, Casey managed a smile. He forced Summer into a tight hug, holding her close and warm. Everything was sore, bruised, but Casey didn't care,
"Summer," He breathed out, "Oh God Summer are ya okay?"
Casey carefully moved her away, looking her over gently,
"Did he hurt you? I swear I'll kill 'im if he had."
When she see's fine, Casey hugs her again,
"Dumpling, ya really know how t' scare ya dad, beginnin' t' think ya wan' me to have a heart attack or somethin'," He lightly joked, rubbing at her back, "It's alright darlin', it's all gonna be a'right okay, we'll get outta 'ere an' get ya home safe okay? It's all okay and gonna be okay..."
| Continued from [ here]
Summer wasn't expecting her Dad's hold around her just now, seeming to stop the flow of tears in her eyes. "Dad" Her voice cracked around the word before she threw her arms around him in turn, burying her face against Casey's shoulder a moment. Just seeing her Dad move after fearing for the worst? Was all that Summer needed for a small fleeting moment of comfort with the utter hell she felt she drug him into. She couldn't believe he was okay she truly feared the worst for her Dad just then.
"Summer," He breathed out, "Oh God Summer are ya okay?"
Of course her Dad was only worried about her but with everything going on? She had to admit even with the odd sense of guilt that it brought to her that it was good to hear such a plead for her safety and well being in his voice. That seemed to have lost it's fire and spark that she always knew it as. Even that cool calming town that seemed to make everything no matter what was going on? Feel like it was going to be okay in the end. Summer, chocked around her tears she hadn't even noticed returned into her eyes. Only able to get her self to nod. She couldn't recall the last time she cried this hard? Feeling her body move back as Casey looked her over only made her guilt worse as she could look at him in turn.
Sure she had grown up seeing both her Dad's come home in bruises and scars hell even a broken bone or two. But seeing Casey beat up just because of her? because of a stupid impulsive choice she made?
"Did he hurt you? I swear I'll kill 'im if he had."
She looked down unable to face her Dad right now, as she looked down to her own hands instead, words still just stuck and trapped away as she could only shake her head no. her hair shook along with the movement Even as she squeezed her eye trying to stop her tears, because she didn't feel she had reason for them to even be falling from her right now. This was all her fault after all. Down to her poor Dad getting hurt just for her sake? and only to be worried about her in the end?
"Dumpling, ya really know how t' scare ya dad, beginnin' t' think ya wan' me to have a heart attack or somethin',"
And he shouldn't have to be right now. A voice in the furthest corner of her mind seemed to speak the loudest out to her. Didn't matter how many times she repeated it to her self it just was all she could think to be true. If she had gone to her Dad maybe it wouldn't be like this now. But She also had to admit she felt better having him here with her.
"It's alright darlin', it's all gonna be a'right okay, we'll get outta 'ere an' get ya home safe okay? It's all okay and gonna be okay..."
"I'm..i'm sorry Dad." Summer manged to get out between her sobs trying her best not to cry anymore but it just wouldn't stop. Even as she lifted her arm up and wiped away at he eyes to try and dry them or stop them but it didn't work. Least allowed her to open her eyes even with a tear filled vision as she looked back at Casey. "I'm sorry I didn' go to you first. I if I did then ya wouldn' be all busted up 'ike this just for me." As if Casey wouldn't fight through literal hell 'just for Summer.' "I didn' know he see me though, I didn' but but I should have" As if Summer could none of them had thought this would happen. But Summer was convinced it was her fault. I clearly had to be all her fault. "And now ya hurt 'ike this and 'm sorry."
Summer might not been making too much sense even with Casey here she was fully shaking off the feeling of fear in her. If anything? It just meant Hun was getting what he wanted. She was the perfect bait to lure Casey out. "I'm sorry Dad I'm so sorry I know ya been tryin' to get over grandma and I was jus' tryin' not to add to ya load." She confessed, "Ya always looking out for me so I knew ya needed to look out for you Pop's said it too but we both knew ya weren' handling things well." Summers words were just like vomit coming out none stop. Begin forced from the back of her throat till she could get it all out. Despite having told Casey she met with Gab's before it wasn't everything.
"I jus'...I had ta do it and I knew if I didn' I dunno I jus' "She shook her head she didn't have to confess how she was she hadn't even done a thing wrong. Any kid in her situation may have some want or need right? But Summer felt like she betrayed the family that cared for her since the day she was left in their. "YA do so much and for what? to be beat up and locked up in a cage jus' cause I had to come from that fuckin' dick." As if her birth alone was what she wanted to say sorry for. "I shoulda been more carful..I just didn' think he would see me." Summer tried so hard make up for what she felt caused all of this for them.
"But..worse? I'm glad you're here Dad." She moved in closer to him and held on to him tightly. "I'm sorry your hurt but i'm glad your here Dad." Because despite what she wanted to tell him before when he was sorry for being absent before? Only now did it feel like her Dad was back. "I jus' wanna go home Dad please." Summer didn't care for looking strong and tough she was well exactly what she was. A scared kid who needed the safety her father gave her. "I promise i'll listen better, that I won' be as stupid either." Like these promises would fix everything but to her mind now? Yeah that was exactly what would do it. "I just wanna go back home."

07 Summer Casey - Stumble
| Send "Stumble" for your severely injured muse to fall into my muse's arms. send "Catch" for the reverse
Summer knows she was dumb when it came to meeting with her so called mother. But, it was something she had to do! She had to do it that very moment as well. That was her issue she was too impulsive at times. Wonder who she learned that bad habit from, but now she was sort of paying for that streak of impatience. Summer should have just spoken to her Dad's, turned around and head back to them. She could have asked Casey about meeting up with Gabes and maybe it would have been a different outcome? Of course long after everything had happened did Summer start to think. And use her brain finally. Not like it mattered in the moment.
Huddled up in some holding cell, wasn't the first time she came across dragons. They tend to be on the streets often. So running into them wasn't out of the norm. Being targeted by them however? that wasn't as common. Sure they pick on any sorry soul off the sidewalk just to throw around their weight. At best the dragons were just a bunch of punks, more bark than bite. Unless they were given orders like the dogs they were from their master. And it seemed Summer little meet up with her 'mother' was fully unseen.
"Fuck" was all she could even say about this whole situation. She tried her best to rack her brain on what to do. Thibking of what she had learned from her uncle Leo. But they took her phone, hockey stick he'll even the shoe laces from her sneakers! Not that she was to sure what she could have done with those outside using them to get her bindings undone. She was stuck! Like a sitting fish in the barrel! Worse she knew this was all meant to be a set up. She at least had that going for herself. They needed her as bait.
Metal squeaked, and Summers head shot up right away. Blue eyes firce she might be stuck in this situation but thar didn't mean she make it easy! When she seems Hun her body does tense for a moment, but she just doubled down and mimicked the way she saw her dad and uncles crouch down to be ready for anything. Summer had to try her best if he grabbed her then it was basically being part of his plan. She watched him laugh and gesture to the guy beside him to unlock the gate of the cell.
Summer took a few steps back, to try and put distance between herself and the purple Mohawk man. When Hun mentioned having company though? Summer stood stright eyes blew wide. "What?!" Who! Who got caught? She didn't have to wait long to see Casey be pushes in to the cell. "Dad!" Summer yelled out.
Normally, she would feel relief at the sight of her Dad because it would mean she was safe. But the sight made her blood run cold as she felt her feet move all on their own. As she dashed over to try and help her Dad stand upright after being pushed into the small cell with her. Stumbling back because her Dad weighed like three horses compared to herself. Having to ground her heels thankfully it seemed like Casey could in the least support his own weight once he had some clue what was going on. It gave Summer a chance to look her poor dad over. He looked like he fought tooth and anil and knowing him? He likely did fight till he physically couldn't anymore. Her soft worried stare turn burning hot as she looked up at Hun. Nothing but pure disdain in her vines as she focused her eyes on to him. As if Summer could somehow protect her Dad she tighten her hold around Casey.
"What did you do to him!" She nearly growled when she demanded an answer. Only for Hun to taunt back about talking back to her ‘dad’ grinning as he said it with such a cold tone said with it. “You ain’t my Dad!” Was the best Summer could fight back with. Only for Hun to laugh over some sick enjoyment he was getting out of everything going on.
She only wanted to face her ‘mother’. To see the face of the women who gave her up, not once had she ever wanted to or felt a need to sastified some reason to see her ‘bio father’. Ever since knowing who that was he never wanted to see him. Only the one who gave her away so she could say thank you. If she hadn’t Summer wouldn’t be Summer Jones. And even more she was grateful for that. Seeing what Hun did to her real father But because she acted on her own in the first place? She ended up coming face to face with the guy in the end and worse dragged her Dad into it because of it. This is why she shouldn’t be so impulsive this was her doing hr fault. Knees giving out under her Dad’s weight as she slowly moved with Casey to rest on the floor. Still thought she stared up at Hun daring him to even try and touch her Dad right now. If Casey fought tooth and nail to get to her she would do the same to keep her Dad form Hun. Habit maybe from watching her papa Raph do it for years she bared her teeth and snarled at him. Hun only laughed and walked away. For now.
Summer attention snapped back down to Casey, “Dad? Dad you awake? Dad I’m- I’m so sorry I didn’t know this would.” Summer tried to for a single thought through her cries but here tears were building up in her eyes drying out her throat as she tried her best not to cry. Burying her face in her Dad’s hair a moment. “I’m sorry I really ‘m sorry DadI didn’ think this happen I shouldn’t done it I know!” As if saying she was sorry would fix it all. Somehow take her back and fix her mistake.

07 Casey Summer - [☕] our muses make hot chocolate together
| SEND AN EMOJI FOR A STARTER ! ↳ winter season & holiday based
Summer did love hockey a lot. It was sort of her whole family thing. Dad got introduced it to her pops and she was born watching hockey basically herself. Not fully true but they were happy to stick to that being the case. But Summer had to admit sometimes? she didn't only love the sport itself. Sure slamming the edge of her stick to the puck and watch it fly across the ice was a thrill she never truly get over. But she also just loved being on the ice itself. The feeling of blades gliding over the surface, the speed she got when she pushed off against her feet. Skidding across it and sending the shaved ice on the surface flying out. How the smooth surface would get all scratched up. Of course fresh ice was the best to skate on. The same appeal that stepping into the fresh snow offered she guesses.
Why she loved when her team did these little 'skate parties' the night before a game. It was all meant to build up moral for the team, help them bound and such. At first? yeah it seemed dumb. But it started to become her favorite thing to look forward to come hockey season. And since they did this at the rink? It met pops was able to join here and there. He didn't come everytime just to be on the safe side. But when he did come it made it twice as fun to Summer. Even if he refused to get on the ice.
Summer thought as she slide over to the wall and came face to face with her dads. Beaming smile and blue eyes sparkling. Her cheeks and tip of her nose wore a small touch of red to them between the cold and pushing her self to win the race she and her teammates just finished. First to do ten laps was the winner and Summer, of course, took that very win. And of course, she had to race over towards her dad's smiling as bright as she can. And has in the longest time. Holding on to the wall slightly lifting up to the tip of her blades.
"Didjya see 'hat!" She exclaims loudly as if they were watching with the other parents. "I smoked thier asses!" She states before either could congratulate her on thier own. Smiling when of course they went and told her hiw fast she was. It was one of best skills her speed. She was fast with her gear on but faster without it. Let her lap the boys on her team without breaking a sweat. Really only one other person on her team could come close but they basically were left to catch her dust from behind herself.
When Summer eyed the cups in her dad's hands she soon became excited for something else. "Oh I want some!" She claimed ni doubt she be given anyway as she pushed over to the door and opened it up to get off the ice for the warm chocolaty treat. She was determined enough to get it as she undid the ties of her skates to make it easier to pop her feet free from them. Gathering up the laces in her hands to make a sort of handle for her self to hold them together. As she made her way her Dad's. Luck on her side as Casey handed over a cup to her. Or they just knew it would be best to get her some as well.
Summer snaged the cup and didn't wait a second to down her first sip of the stuff. Small relief coming over herself as she felt the warmth if the drink fill her and seemed to help restart warming her up. Nothing hut lile hot chocolate at an ice rink. It was like drinking a coke in winter there was just an experience behind it that didn't need words it was just known to be great. Summer smiled and moved to sandwich herself between her Dad's. Turning to watch her team still on tje ice themselves a few parting after finishing the race themselves finally. Of course Dummer kept track of hiw long it took each of them to come in after her own win. As she sipped from her cup eyes took notice of the second place win. Aspen. She wasn't all to sure what todo about the Aspen situation still.
She let's her eyes drop actting as if her cup of cocoa was suddenly the most interesting thing in the world to her. But it wouldn't save her as he came over smiling himself memtiong her win. And she hated how that set a flutter of wings in her stomach. "Eh ya know me, nothin' but bustin' with natural kick ass skills." She manged to voice. As she felt warmth creep past the numbness of her face. Eyeing how her Dad seemed to lower down to set elbow on the wall and literally get in Aspens face.
Another part of her on going issues on the Aspen situation. Her Dad was being oh so normal about it! And that so wasn't causing any issues! And of bo one could tell that was sarcasm she would make it clear none of that was ture. Casey was really showing how well casey he could get about something the moment he learned Aspen liked her. Summer? Was still figuring that out herself haven't making a full idiot of herself. She didn't need her Dad being well like this.
Summer handed her cup over to Raphael who on the other aide despite a glare aimed at Aspen seemed the lesser of the two. And took the cup with out a word about it from her. "Dad" Summer tried to voice a simple plea thst easily went ignore by Casey. Summer was glad he didn't have a bat on him at least. As she could tell Aspen did seem slightly intimidated by her Dad. Great perfect just perfect. Summer can't help but think to herself as tries to budge her dad thinking it help but even she knkwns it pointless. "Oh uh the guys seem ta want ya Aspen." Summer voices pointing out to rest of the team far across the other side of the rink. Aspen turned to follow and seemed to maybe take her hint before skating off.
"Dad could ya do me favor and stop!" Summer complains the moment Asprn was out of ear shot. "It bad enough you showed up with a fuckin' bat could you stop glaring at 'im 'ike that?!" Summer expresses she knows in part its pointless of course but she was still going to try. Turning towards Raph next. "Can you please make 'I'm stop?" Summer asks next. When Raph simply looks between them only to say 'nah' and smile! As if this was anything to laugh at! Before taking a drink from her cup. Summer groned and threw her upper body on to the edge of the wall. They were impossible when it came to this.
Burying her fave into her arms, it was a mystery Aspen bothered to talk to jer after that whole 'hey turns out we've been dating and I really like you in a not friend way' she can't even talk to her Dad's about that because the second Aspen is mentioned? Theu because like this! She swears they thought Aspen was a purple dragon or something. She wished she could die honestly. She not sure how she manged to show her face tonight how was she meant to go to the game tomorrow even.
Maybe she should act sick. She felt it right now anytime Aspen came around. Not the feelings of a crush that she rather he never look at her again after what happened and the two people she wanted well needed to talk to were just being so werid about it all. She loved her aunt Von but she always wanted to turn into in a sex Ed conversation and that wasn't what she needed right now. She figured her u cle Don may be just as bad. She thought about asking Ariel but then she have to explain how stupid she really was and she didn't want to relive that. Her stomach started to twist more and more the back if her thoart did this werid motion she suddenly felt sick. Head lifted face as green as Raphs as she threw her head forward and let her precious hit chocolate fall on the ice.
Well guess she found her way out of the game now

[07 Summer Casey :) ]
"Nice hair," Casey smiles, stepping into her constant mess of a room, "Think yer might need t' d' the red bits again though, aint really visible."
Not that Casey knew anything about dying hair was was taking a guess as to how vibrant it was intended to be. Taking a seat the edge of her bed, he smiles at her, tired and sad, but so happy she's home,
"How yer doin?"
Dumb question to maybe ask, but he can't exactly leave his daughter in the lurch. It had been a whilewind of a few days, but he's happy she's back. And he feels awful for not talking to her about a few things before. Sure, he hadn't wanted her to find out about Hun in the way she did, if he could do it over he would in a heartbeat. But, well, it's not like he could time travel and change things. He could, however, unpick a few old wounds,
"So, Aunt Von an' I were talkin', she mentioned a few of the things yer asked 'bout - 'bout how 'cause yer came from somewhere bad, an' that must make yer bad, an' then how she called me by my actual name an' how she's sorry for that."
Why would she be sorry for it?
"Summer, d' yer really think if someone's come from somewhere bad, they're gonna be bad?" He asks, just seeing where she is right now, "'Cause, if that's true, then yeah, yer are bad - 'cause I'm bad t', after all, I'm the one that raised yer, an' I came from someone bad."
What was he talking about,
"See, yer Grandmother, she's an angel, right?" No one going to disagree with that, "But Grandpa? Well...I'm glad yer never gonna 'ave t' meet him," He never thought he'd see the day where he can accept such a fact, "Cause, well, in Grandpa's eyes, we're not a family, we're a team, an' when someone in yer team goes against yer, yanno what yer 'd?" He doesn't wait for an answer, "Yer hit 'em, yer sceam at 'em, yer break things in fits of rages - yer hit yer son so hard in the head he's left with brain damage, an' the belief that he aint good 'nough," He doesn't give too many details, but enough for her to maybe put two and two together, "I spent my life protectin' a man that thought leavin' me bruised was the way t' get me t' see things, an' when he died, I tried to fight the Dragons an' wound up nearly dead, cause I was convinced that's what I had t' d', t' finally make him proud of me."
He hopes Summer knows he's always going to be proud of her, no matter what happens,
"Arnold Senior, my dad, yer grandpa, was a nasty piece of work Summer, he was bad," And Casey was done defending him, "An' he's better off buried where he can't hurt yer," Casey would hurt for the rest of his life though, "An', I'm tellin' yer this, Dumplin', cause, well, I know yer look up t' me, Raph tol' me yer d'," And it was kind of obvious, "Despite the fact I came from somewhere bad, an' am bad, yer still saw the good in me as yer dad, as the person that's gonna look after yer no matter what."
He shuffles slightly, lifting an arm and wrapping it around her shoulders, gently tugging her in for a hug,
"What I want yer t' understan' is, lotsa people come from bad places an' people; I did, Aunt Yvonne did, but that aint gonna automatically make us bad people, cause, if it did, then there woul' be a lot more bad in the World," Casey smiles, "Jus' cause Hun an' Gabs are the reason yer in this World, doesn't mean yer gonna be anythin' like 'em, I won't allow it for starts," He laughs softly, "An' cause I know that aint the type of person yer meant t' be; if I aint bad cause of my dad, then yer aint bad cayse of him either - okay?"

Summer stared in the mirror of the bathroom, sort of left to take in her reflection as the moment as the steam clouds from her shower were still heavy enough to hang near the ceiling. Before her attention dropped to her brush. Normally there would be blonde strands of hair in there instead they were blue. She set her brush down before looking back at the mirror tentatively brushing her hand over her dyed locks. Aunt Von got them all covered evenly not a spot of blonde could be seen if you didn't know better one might think her hair was the same shade as Casey's. And not the blonde color from before of course she missed the color but knowing where it came from now? She shakes her head hard before gathering up her pile of dirty clothes up off the bathroom floor. Door opened and the stream clouds from her shower started to fly out into the hallway. The cooler air from the hall way was starting to help cool the room off. As Summer made her way to her room and drooped her clothes more off to the side of her hamper over inside it before she went to fall down on to her bed.
It hadn't been that long since the truth came out. She wished she heard it differently she wished she handled it better too. Guess there wasn't much point on hoping and wishing for things to been done differently though. Chances were she still would have freaked out. It was just a lot for Summer to process.
Sure when she was younger she was so convinced she came from an egg that papa laid, she just figured her Dad's were dorks with her egg maybe they put a bow on her egg even. Of course, as she got older they had to explain what adoption was. But that didn't upset her. It meant they saw her and said 'we want her' it was simple. Summer was pretty simple when it came to how she thought at times. Her Dad's picked her out and said this is meant to be out kid so why would anything else matter? Yeah she got asked often if she ever wanted to know who her 'real' parents were. She knew they meant where she came from but she didn't like how it was worded or phased. Her real parents were Casey and Raphael. Not some women who could easily give her up or a man who likely didn't care if he knew about her one way or another.
"Nice hair,"
Summer lifted up to sit when hearing the warm voice of her Dad. Smiling faintly best she could muster at least. Summer still felt bad about the phone call with her aunt. She wished she could explain fix things but. Summer didn't even understand her own reactions from the past hours before returning home. She never ran away before after all. If anything she always ran home. Least Dad didn't seem upset. Well with her in a 'your grounded' way. She could tell even with his own smile that wasn't how he felt. Dad was sensitive sometimes. What pop's would say usually a jab at him but still it seemed to be true.
"Think yer might need t' d' the red bits again though, aint really visible."
"yeah..aunt Von said somethin' 'bout how blue an' red bein' on opposite ends sorta cancel each other out. So they got covered I jus' gotta redo 'em is all. Don't want pop's feelin' left out." okay this seemed fine. This was fine they were talking at least. So everything has to fine right? Right. Everything was fine nothing was happening they were hanging out in her room like always. And he'll think she'll clean it. As Casey went to take a seat on the edge of her bed, she did feel more at ease in the moment at least. It was weird.
This constant back and forth. One second she was fine the next it hint her all over again. Like when you sit in the ocean and waves keep washing over you. That how it felt like it came in waves. One second it wasn't on her mind but then bam! there it was hitting her in the face once more.
"How yer doin?"
Fuck.
"I'm al'ight," She answers with a slight shrug of her shoulders. It's not that she didn't want to explain how she felt like she was sitting on the shore constantly getting hit by waves of what she knew now. She just didn't know how to word it emotions could be so messy, it was easier to just act instead of talk. But She didn't even know how to act right now.
"So, Aunt Von an' I were talkin', she mentioned a few of the things yer asked 'bout - 'bout how 'cause yer came from somewhere bad, an' that must make yer bad, an' then how she called me by my actual name an' how she's sorry for that."
Great.
Summer wasn't ready to unpack all of this it was still so fresh, as she drew her legs up to her chest and listened to her Dad speak. Summer only said thing out of sudden panic but great was she meant to explain every thought she had now? She didn't want to not right now. Little hurt her aunt would air everything out like this. Though the end dose caught her attention. Summer was aware her Dad's real name was 'Arnorld', and that he didn't like it much. She thought it sounded like a geeky name herself. Never thought beyond any of that, though herself, though.
"Summer, d' yer really think if someone's come from somewhere bad, they're gonna be bad?"
She lowers her head a bit letting her fave hide in agist her knees. "Thanks aunnie von." She simply mutters to her self but allows her Dad to keep talking. She didn't need to outright say that was excstly what she thought.
"'Cause, if that's true, then yeah, yer are bad - 'cause I'm bad t', after all, I'm the one that raised yer, an' I came from someone bad."
Summer lifts her head to express her confusion now brow all furrowed up as she lifts up a brow. "No you ain't? You go 'round and fight gang members so they can' sell drugs an' shit?" So hiw could he be bad sure he raised Summer and much as she wishes the story about coming from an egg were ture. It wasn't. "What do you mean? Grandma's the sweet person ever?" Well in part she knew that wasn't right but far as she was concerned yes.
"See, yer Grandmother, she's an angel, right?" No one going to disagree with that, "But Grandpa? Well...I'm glad yer never gonna 'ave t' meet him,"
Excatly as she thought grandma couldn't be bad. She dose contuine to hold the confusion though she didn't know much about her grandpa just small things here and there when answered and answered. So she had to admit this had her hooked. "Why?"
"Cause, well, in Grandpa's eyes, we're not a family, we're a team, an' when someone in yer team goes against yer, yanno what yer 'd?" He doesn't wait for an answer, "Yer hit 'em, yer sceam at 'em, yer break things in fits of rages - yer hit yer son so hard in the head he's left with brain damage, an' the belief that he aint good 'nough,"
Sure he wasn't outright giving details here but it was enough for summer to follow it didn't help her confusion of course. Simply because anytime.he was brought up now of what she was being now had ever been said. Not hinted even thar he apperntly was 'bad' Summer eyes softened a little as she looked at her Dad. Casey's never really hurt her feelings, not once that she can recall to think. On so she can't imagine hiw being hit by her Dad would feel. She knows it happens she knows a kid who deals with it after all.
"I spent my life protectin' a man that thought leavin' me bruised was the way t' get me t' see things, an' when he died, I tried to fight the Dragons an' wound up nearly dead, cause I was convinced that's what I had t' d', t' finally make him proud of me."
Summer listened of course she did to every word Casey was speaking she didn't have much to say. It wasn't like her Dad to talk about his own well much at all let along like this. But she understand why her pops didn't seem to loke him without ever meeting him seeing how he never was one to keep his stance on others to himself. Hun, hated. Shredder hated. Bishop? Hated. Her grandpa? Far as he was sure didn't care for them and she never understood why or tried to ask Pops was stunnborn after all. But she gets it now. And feels a bit guilt, despite the fact she never knew.
"Arnold Senior, my dad, yer grandpa, was a nasty piece of work Summer, he was bad," And Casey was done defending him, "An' he's better off buried where he can't hurt yer," Casey would hurt for the rest of his life though,
Summer just didn't fully understand what this had to do with well everything else. So why have this moment to finally explain it all her? As of Casey had a cule to the train of thought Summer was having.
"An', I'm tellin' yer this, Dumplin', cause, well, I know yer look up t' me, Raph tol' me yer d',"
Couse she did she's done enough school project that allowed her to say as such by this point in her school career after all. 'Why Casey Jones could in fact beat a train' was still a paper left up in the fridge to this day.
"Despite the fact I came from somewhere bad, an' am bad, yer still saw the good in me as yer dad, as the person that's gonna look after yer no matter what."
Oh. Summer let's her head hang as his arm moves around to tug her indie a tightly held side hug. See she's the connections now. Slightly moving to rest in against her Dad's side he was right she did seenhim as someone to look after her. So that's why this all hurt so much.
"What I want yer t' understan' is, lotsa people come from bad places an' people; I did, Aunt Yvonne did, but that aint gonna automatically make us bad people, cause, if it did, then there woul' be a lot more bad in the World," Casey smiles, "Jus' cause Hun an' Gabs are the reason yer in this World, doesn't mean yer gonna be anythin' like 'em, I won't allow it for starts,"
She feels her threnten to water over at that. For some reason. She can't explain how it makes her breath suddenly catch to hear him promise her that. She won't be like Hun and she won't be like Gabs either? Was that something he really could promise her though? Maybe she always tends to hear complaints if being to much like him and pops after all.
"An' cause I know that aint the type of person yer meant t' be; if I aint bad cause of my dad, then yer aint bad cayse of him either - okay?"
Summer just sits there quite for a moment longer trying to process that
"You mean 'hat?" Her voice cracks when she gathers up her courage to ask. "I...I don' wanna do any of 'hat stuff Dad. I don' wanna hurt people jus' cause I can. I don' wanna hurt people I care 'bout either. How is that caring 'bout 'em?" Its alot to try and understand. Both for her age and just her emotional state at the moment. "Cause I ain't doin' so good 'bout it now Dad. I know I hurt you eailer on the phone. And both you an' pops when I jus' took off." It wasn't her saying he was wrong just owning up to it at the moment.
"I jus' I dunno my legs moved and not like thoughts happen much in my skull. I just needed to run I guess." Turning to hide her face against her Dad. She never felt so small as she did now. "Is it okay if I keep jus' I dunno doin' it for a bit?" That dosen't sound good. " 'ike dying my hair an' such?" She adds to clear up the confusion. Not physically run just not fave it not yet. Like Casey had. She just wanted to be protected for a bit longer till she felt ready to face it.

[2k7 Rasey]
"I never trusted that kid, Aspen," Casey claims, arms crossed as he took to pacing around the living room, "A'ways had this look in his eye, like he was up t' somethin', an' he always took the cheap shots when playin', no idea why the ref never called 'im for it."
He was taking the whole thing between Summer and Aspen so very well as he continued to complain to his husband,
"Wouldn't surprise me if he was runnin' with gangs! Might be a Dragon for all we know - it's a lil' weird that he only ever wants t' hang out with Summer!"
Now he was just pulling things out of thin air to try and justify himself. Perhaps Raph should get his husband to shut up.
| Muse interaction
Summer had her head in her hands as she was making her way up the stairs home, Casey could be embarrassing as a Dad. Calling her dumpling, hugging her and kissing her as if she hadn't seen him in days after school. Every day after picking her up form school. Summer might squeal and try to push him away because well it was embarrassing but she didn't really hate it either but this!! Oh this was so much worse! Look it was bad enough she hadn't clocked in on the fact she was apparently on a date nor that she and Aspen have apparently been dating like this for two months?!?! that was bad enough for the poor girl. She texted her Dad to sort of save her from the embarrassment. How was she meant to know he would show up with his bat and give the shot gun talk to the poor guy. Wasn't it bad enough he was basically told Summer had no fucking clue what was going on between them now her lunatic of a father over here threatening him!
She reached the door first and groaned as she walked in finally lifting up her head find her new sanctuary. When she saw Raphael had just gotten home himself after being off with her uncles and anucle. Summer simply makes her way over to him and lays her face against his plastron. "Pops please make 'em stop" She honestly whined a little. She felt his heavy plam rest to the top of her head as he gave her a few reassuring pats to her hair.
"Alright bug what that nutcase do now?" Was all Raphael really got to say. Summer not getting much of a chance to explain as Casey finally made it into the apartment himself. Summer simply groaned and turned to hide against Raphael instead. Raphael simply titled his head a little looking down to Summer before shifting his stare over to Casey.
Watching Casey come in and set a bat near by the door, their face was all screwed up into a familiar scowl. As he could just see how Casey's nostrils flare from where he stood. Casey shutting the door hard behind himself. This wasn't really him being mad though, Raph couldn't see any vines bludging in their thick neck or along their head. So it just left the turtle in far more in the dark on what was going on here. All he could really piece together was Casey had gone Casey about something involving Summer. Moving to slightly hug her as she used him to take a moment and just hide from the past twenty minutes of misery she had to go and suffer through. Not taking an puce of this serious. Summer and Casey had a knack for be dramtic in thier own way after all. Likely one those my baby girls is growing up and I'm not handling it well. Moments was Rpah's guess.
"Alright hothead what happened?" Raphael finally bites to ask.
"I never trusted that kid, Aspen,"
"Aspen?" Raphael repeated peering down to Summer who only tried to hide even more against him. Wishing she could climb into his shell even in this moment. Raphael wasn't following what did thar kid on Summer's team had to do with anything at all? Appernetly a lot based off Summer trying to seek Raoh out in need of rescue well Case started to pace in the living room.
"A'ways had this look in his eye, like he was up t' somethin', an' he always took the cheap shots when playin', no idea why the ref never called 'im for it."
Raph lifts up his brow at that last remark finding himself even more at a loss of what the fuck was going on her. Peering back down to Summer for some help here, but he wasn't getting anything out her, and Casey was less help in all of this mess.
"Alright alright before ya go off again cna someone cule me in in the fuck is goin' on 'ight now?" Raphael dryly says aspirated over this whole mess as is.
That's when he finally got his answer, Aspen liked Summer. And now somethings seems to make sense well at least why Casey was off his rocker in the moment. He was kicking into overdrive on the overprotective Dad act. Which explained why Summer looked like she wanted to die. He didn't have the full story, but Summer did at least offer some explanation. She was hanging out with her teammate and friend Aspen. Which yeah theu been doing that pretty often basically when ever she wasn't with the full team or Ariel. So what excatly to get Casey like this?
Apperntly it was a date. Now Raphael understood slightly chuckling as he always did when something was soulely funny to him. Summer lifted her head clearly not happy about his reaction.
"It's not funny Pops! I didn' know it was a date so testes Dad to save me an' he made it worse!" He face had grown red and he laughed more trying his best not to but it was a losing battle. "An' ya thought the biggest nut case in the city would be any help? Shoulda called ya Aunt April at least she be useful." He retorts.
A look crossed over Summers face, she hadn't thought of that option. She sunndely groans and growls in annoyance, old habits die hard it seemed as she moved away from Raph. One day flipping out and the other laughing was not helping her at all. She went to pull out her phone to call her sister bedroom.door shutting behind her. Raphael was still just chuckling as he watched her storm away. Before turning back towards Casey.
"Alright I 'hink ya need to chill so what if he 'ikes ain't not big deal 'ight?" Raohael said having to once more be the voice of reason. As Casey turned around and snapped back showing why Raphael had to be the reasonable one soon after. Raph just rolled his eye and walked over to the dork. "Case you know this kid he'll I know 'em he's fine. Why ya acttin' 'ike it's the worst news? Least it's a decent guy who 'ikes her right?"
"Wouldn't surprise me if he was runnin' with gangs! Might be a Dragon for all we know - it's a lil' weird that he only ever wants t' hang out with Summer!"
"Ya an idiot Jones." Raphael said flatly moving to roll his head to express he was rolling his eye right now before fixing them with a look. Casey clearly was handling all this just oh so very well. "Case." He tries again reaching over to set. A hand on his ridiculous husband's bicep. "Ya kmee 'his was bound ta happen one day. Ya act 'ike ya never dated and unfountetly for me 'm aware if how much 'hat be a lie." Due to the turtles jealously issues of course. He playfully get and punches Casey's arm. "Now clam down Summer's dealin' with enough she don' need ya loosin' even more of the screws in that skull."
Raphael felt he was handling this pretty well, even as he watched Casey's face shift and setting more into that little pout he found to be adorable. When Casey muttered something. Raphael didn't catch it so he asked them to repeat it. And when Casey said Aspen tried kissing Summer?
"Ya knkw ya fuckin! Got a point! Might been a long con plan. She used ta tell us he was nothin' but a little prick to her at the start!" And any sense of reason was fully gone as Casey only feed more in to his narrative on Aspen being g some dragon spy to get close to thier daughter.
"Know what?" Raphael suddenly had a thought forming as he smirks up at Casey. "Wasn't to long ya left where they were 'ight?" He asks waiting for Casey to not he only smiles more. "Bet we can catch up to the punk." The suggestion held all his meaning in it alone knowing Casey would pick up what he was referring too. "What? We're jus' two concerned dad's 'bout 'heir daughter ain't we? Gotta make sure 'hat pu k ain't really a dragon doncha 'hink?"

Summer, you already know who your biological father is, but did you ever think about your mother? Well, do now. Her name is Gabrielle, she also hurt your dad - rejected him and made a fool of him when he tried to propose. It's a miracle he can even look at you, isn't it?
| muse interactions @aflockoffeathers
Summer's ears were full of the sound of the hair dryer blaring in against her ear. Music she had blasting was downing out by the hot air roaring against her ear. Eyes were closed at the moment as she had her weight mainly supported by her left hand stationed on the counter as she just let the heat from the hair do it's job to dray out her freshly dyed hair. It took a lot more work than just simply adding in red into her blond locks of hair she once was proud to show on display. Sometimes her Dad's were home to help her when she had the mild freak out over the bits of blonde showing. But Summer was alone at the moment why she figured she kill the time by dying her hair. Waiting to keep that natural color of hers hidden away under the coloring of something less unsettling. A deep dark blue near black. It matched her Dad's hair. So it easily gave a cover up on why she started to do it. Well her family likely all put two and two together on why she started to color her hair.
Finally setting the hair dryer down once it turn off she opened her eyes. A slight calming feeling came back over her once she no longer saw her roots. Sighing out she reached up feeling over her hair making sure it was all dry just in case she needed to run the dryer over again. She, never met Hun face to face her self really but she knew enough about him. What all he had done to her family over the years. Knowing she had any traces to him? Well Summer couldn't put words to the feelings it gave her.
Summer in part know what her Dad told her, of course she never would think he could be bad. Letting her elbows rest to the counter as she holds her face in her hands a moment. Summer hated getting upset over the sightless sign of blonde on her head. Needing to just keep her Dad's words in her head every time but still didn't make her not feel some sense of worry the second her root starting to come through. Taking another breath she pushed it away. It wasn't there now. Lowering her hands so she could run fingers through her hair. Front in red dye halo, the rest the deep blue black she had started to prefer. Just a small way to say she was Casey Jones and Raphael's kid no one else's. For sure not that guys. She normally did the streaks in her hair but felt this would be a fun thing to try out as well now.
"Ari might wanna see" Was her first voiced out thought as she reached for her cell to snap the photo of her self smiling brightly throwing in a little peace sign to the lens before she sent it off. Summer smiled as she set her cell back down keeping her and her sisters text messages opened. She figured she surprise her Dad's in person with the change. Looking at the message the counter now was as she just slightly chewed on her bottom lip. Boxes of dye, gloves, paper instructs and now empty bottles just littered the surface.
"Guess I should clean 'his up or Dad might actually make me clean up my bed room." Summer slightly scuffs over the thought but still starts to work on cleaning things up. Her room was one thing that was her own space after all.
Summer, you already know who your biological father is, but did you ever think about your mother?
Summer tries to ignore it she really dose. Of course she did even since learning the answer behind her hair. It did bring to questions the blue eyes of course. But no it didn't matter. She thought as she let her gaze flicker to her phone again no answer from her sister just yet. She might be swimming or staring at Jaromir photo.
Well, do now. Her name is Gabrielle, she also hurt your dad - rejected him and made a fool of him when he tried to propose. It's a miracle he can even look at you, isn't it?
"Shut up!" Summer yells throw the empty plastic bottle into the trash can. Gritting back her teeth. As she let her shoulders rise and fall as she breathed heavily to herself. Hands balling up into tightly bond fists letting the ends of her nails press in against the palm of her hands.
Sure she never heard about this Gabrielle before, she could see why now. Of course all she needed was being told BOTH side of her genetics code hurt her Dad in their own ways. Leading to her. She shakes her head. "nah I know 'hat last bit ain't true." Casey and Raphael loved he no matter where she came from. How many times have they told her this before? "Listen I know 'm fuckin' dumb but I ain't 'hat stupid!" Summer says snapping her head up unsure what caused the words in her head those grey faces creatures or her own thoughts. "I can learn might take fuckin' forever but I can!" She says to the mirror just now. Slamming her hands to the surface of the counter as she stares back at her reflection. Didn't matter how much dye she slathered on to her hair. The color would fade she knows that. Sure she could go extreme and see about color contacts even but. She always liked that she shared the same 'ocean blues' as pop's called them as Casey. She stood there just staring back at her self. The way the red framed her face, how the blue pooled around her shoulders. Her shirt she stole from her dad some time again became her dye shirt since she always made a mess when doing her hair. Not wanting to stain any of her favorite shirts. It was such a small random fact that Casey didn't seem to mind she took it. How Raphael didn't care when she stole his mask to properly color match the red dye even.
They let her get away with the smallest things to the biggest. She squeezed her eyes shut trying to not let her tears stream down her face. This was always going to hang over her head wasn't it? It didn't matter how much she cover up her hair color? Didn't matter how much she tried to push it out of her head or was reassured. It would just forever be right there. A product of people who hurt someone she loved so much, who tries so hard for her. Who would tell her it means nothing because he feels like shes a gift from an angle because how much he and pop wanted her so much. The thing they were always missing, how they wanted a baby so bad stuck by 'baby fever' and then she came to them. That should be all that matters right?
[text] I'm about to do somethin' real stupid
Summer's hands had her phone before she even noticed she had left the bathroom and grabbed her coat uncaring for dye stains. She did least have enough brain power running to lock the door to the apartment before. Of course Summer was curious but not in a way some may think she might be curious about her biological connections. It wasn't hard to get the information she needed. She sorta swiped her number from her Dad's phone when playing around with it.
Swallowing thickly as she felt her hand shake but she pulled up the contacts in her phone. Scrolling past all the names on her screen.
'🏒Dad❤️'
'🐢Pops❤️'
'🪶Granny❤️ '
'🐀Grandpa🧀'
'🐢 Unca Leo☯️'
'🐢Anucle Mikey🍕'
'🐢Unca Donnie🧪'
'💜Auntie Von📋'
'🧜🏻♀️Ari🎵'
' 💛Auntie Apri📔l'
'Aspen🤡'
'unknown'
Eyes landed on the unknown number the only one in her phone with no name to it. She breaths in deeply before pressing the call button as she continues to walk down the stairs. The call connects but no answer it goes into their voice mail right away. Summer could just hang up now and turn back home. Hop on the couch her Dad's would be home soon with Dinner. They were going to grab pizza so nothing burnt tonight. Dad even sent a text they were on their way from the lair, having stopped there for a bit. when she got outside the building. Instead she keeps walking. It would take them a moment between getting to the place they usually ordered from, with the wait time, not to mention having to add in Dad would park a bit further from the shop so pop's could hang back in the closet alleyway. They would wanna ride together Summer just knows it. So she speaks after the beep sounds off.
"I dunno if Dad told ya my name. but it's me Summer. Imma be at the diner on 52nd. I have at best an hour before I gotta go back home." Cause if they got home before her she could tell them she was taking out the bathroom trash. Somewhere in her skull during her mad rush she grab the bag from the bathroom still holding it now as she tossed it to the nearest dumpster she passed making her way there. If she showed up or not well was a different matter. But only a start. As she passed by a fade purple dragon marking on the next brick building she pasted by. Phone pocketed as she sprinted off.

[2k7 - something silly]
Casey had headed out for a PTA meeting, like a usual parent would do. He was just trying to be a good dad for Summer, do those stereotypical parent things. Except, Casey was far from a normal dad, and the fact he returned home with a black eye was proof enough of that.
Course he huffs when he's, understandably, asked by Raph what happened. How did a PTA meeting end with Casey being bruised?!
Casey collapsed back on the couch, crossing his arms,
"Some snooty bitch made a comment 'bout our kid," Casey grumbled, "Said she looked like a gang member an' a buncha other fuckin' nonsense."
Looks like someone was still stuck in protective dad mode as he continued to mutter to himself.
| Muse interaction
Dinner was early that night, Raphael wasn't all to sure what a PTA was even with Casey explaining it to him. Nor did he fully understand Case being part of it. But, Casey had it in his head this was what a good parent had to do. But the meetings were held not long after school got out meaning the time window for getting dinner done in time for Casey to eat before leaving was small. Raphael might not get what put the idea into his husband mind but he could at least make sure they ate before doing the 'parent thing' as Casey put it.
Likely why the sauce for the noodles ended getting the Jone's-Hamato family specialty season. Which others would call burnt. Not a single meal in their home was ever cooked with out it happening. Didn't matter if Casey cooked the meal or Raphael cooked. For whatever reasons it ended up the same way likely blame the fact neither of them were the most patience of people, so the stove and oven were always constantly cranked up as high as possible. So the food would cook faster that way. Seemed like a logical solution. It cuts the cooking time clearly. Casey wasn't the best cook before hand and Raph? Well he never really learned how to cook himself per say. Was mostly Mikey's job to handle the cooking at best sometimes Raph was roped into helping. So trying to take the reigns over? And in no way would Raphael ask for help to not burn their food. It's fine Casey dealt with frozen meals most his life and Summer has never really known food could be anything but burnt. Unless she was with Don's family or in the lair at least. Sides it didn't fully ruin the taste of the food just because it was a tad burned.
Or the fact they were all just used to every dish being a touch of brunt that they grown to be in either denial over it or their own taste buds were just that wrecked. Likely a mix of both. The real issue wasn't so much the cooking, they never really had food left over after all. So clearly the fact ever meal made being burnt wasn't a big deal. At least when it came to that part of cooking. It was the clean up that became a problem.
Raphael had been scabbing away at the built up ashed sauce for the past couple of hours. Even when letting it soak it didn't seem to help all that much. Summer had done her own share to help by putting away anything that did mange to get washed and dried. Raphael was just taking steel wool to the sauce pan. The built up mass was not giving in to easily as Raph told Summer she could go off he be in there for a good while. Eventually having to giving up with the steel he was work with as the force from his scrubbing was making it fray. Nothing but the gunked up burnt sauce stuck in just about even space of the wool. Raphael quirked his beak and went to run it under the water when hearing Summers voice in the background get excited over Casey being back home.
"jeez I brunted this real good if he back already." Was all Raph muttered under his breath. Deciding to take a break for now leave it to soak a little longer maybe it would help to loosen everything up again.
"Didja fing a dragon on your way home?" Summer could be heard asking once the door shut.
Raph rounded the corner soon after finding Casey sporting a new shiner around his eye. Arms moved to cross over in front of his plastron as he fixed Casey with a look. "Dim sum go get somethin' for ya Dad's eye please." Summer offered a nod before taking off.
Raphael soon turned his attention back to Casey and smiled amused at the sight. "So, who got in the lucky shot?" Raphael teases a little as he chuckles. He could in the least tell Casey hadn't gotten into a scuffle with any purple dragons. They wouldn't have stopped with just a black eye for one. "Aww what matters sweet heart PTA didn' 'ike ya pitch for a lemonade stand and kick ya ass over it?" He tease mote thanks to Casey's pouty expression it was the second clue.
" 'ight i'll bite what happened Case?" Raph asks onces he done taking the humor in this. Leave it to Casey Jones to go to a PTA meeting and turn it into a fight. Raph was sure Casey could go anywhere and leave with a story of a fight happening. Just from Casey being there in the first place alone after all.
"Weren' ya jus' meant to be talkin' bout school funding or whatever?" Raphael continues to add in as he watches Casey huff and move over to the couch. Someone was feeling sour it seemed. Which just made it funnier to Raph that Casey was clearly upset over what happened. Meaning said fight didn't go in his favor. Childish man he was Casey always boasted over his wins no matter how bad of shape he was in.
"Some snooty bitch made a comment 'bout our kid,"
"Ah 'hat makes sense," Not that Raph would have liked hearing anyone say something bad about Summer either, but it did explain a certain hot head current look. Raphael moved to sit on the arm of the couch nearest Casey, as reached over brushing back blue locks of hair for a better look at their eye. Wasn't took bad. Casey had worse that's for sure. "So what did they say 'bout Summer? Sure anythin' get ya heated. But had to be somethin' more than I dunno jus' sayin' she wasn' good with grades or whatever." Raphael presses to ask as he takes hold of Casey's face tilting their head back a little.
"Said she looked like a gang member an' a buncha other fuckin' nonsense."
"Our Summer?" Raph went on to ask lifting a brown over that Summer looked like a gang member? How? Far as Raph and Casey at that were aware of Summer was nothing like any gang members. Seeing as they made near about a living, with out the being paid part that is, kicking ass of gangs in the city. No one would know better than them. Speaking of Summer she soon return with a frozen ice pack for Casey's eye. Handing it over for Casey to take.
Raphael looking at Summer now before taking hold of her shoulders as to present their daughter to Casey "how? look at her shes the sweetest little girl to ever exist?" Nothing but Raph's own biased showing when he spoke up. Despite the fact she did had some bandages on her face from getting into a fight at school earlier that week. Like what sparked said snooty bitch remark about their kid.
"Summers nothin' but a good kid, the best kid even." Raphael gode to add on.
"Pops please stop." Summer softly begs more than well aware of both her father's love for her and how unneeded it was in this moment
"I can' believe you let that snooty bitch get away with givin' you a shiner over that load of bull crap." Disspointment coming out from Raph now that he had the full context of what happened. Clearly Casey had no choice but kick the other parents ass. Like how dare they get away with such slander on thier Daughter!
"Sure she a lil tough and will kick someone's teeth in but 'hats jus' cause she don' take shit." Raph claims proudly throwing his arm over Summers shoulders and tugging her in for a hug mostly because he knows she'll hate that. Not getting a hug just that he tossed it in. Even if she did smile at his remark. "Sure she gose round with color in her hair but 'hat means nothing, or with a few scarps and bruises here and there even."
"Well if kids weren' dumb I wouldn' havta kick thier asses." Sunner mutters a little not really caring that appenrtly this was about her.
"Excatly! Our kid at some punk who won't 'ight. She's a punk who will." Messing with her hair as he tussle it little before turning attetion back to Casey. "If anything Case? Ya jus' explained why she 'ike this in the first place." Raphael more than happy to point out with the largest grin on his face . Of course Raohs got fault her too but to humans? Raphael don't exist meaning Summers 100% the product of Casey's parenting.
Moving to sit beside Casey and even taking over holding the ice pack on thier eye. Figuring his husband earned some care for defending thier daughter after all. Even if he chuckled a little over it again. "Still can' believe ya let some chump get the betta of ya to get ya squar in the eye." Soaking in the huff Casey give in return to that before sneaking in a kiss to Casey pouty lips. Ignoring Summers protest of 'ew' over the display. "Pout all ya want know I jus' think it's cute."
Summer added on some gaging sounds as she went to walk away now "you guys are so gross!"
"Aw come on Dim Sum, ya Dad jus' stood up for ya! An' ya not gonna give 'em any thanks?" Raoh yelled after her over chuckling as he did "fine guess I got make out wit' ya Dad then!" Earning a other gag from Summer had him chuckling a bit louder now. "Jeez get in a fight for her and no thanks, where we go wrong uh?"

07 Summer 📖
| Send in ❛ 📖 ❜ to view a page of my muse's journal/diary
In class were were drawing pictures of our family. I always gotta be careful when I do so I normally draw papa in his winter coat, scarf and old hat. I wanted to draw us at a hockey game, so papa being bundle up made sense. He don't handle cold well so he needs to be nice and toasty or he might get sick. I guess that why he sits close to dad. dad's always very warm. Someone asked me who he was and I said "that's my papa!" then they asked about the other guy, asked if it was an uncle. But nah it was my Dad I told them, said it was why they were holding hands. Which is gross. But they looked confused and asked how do I got a Dad and a Papa. I guess they got a mom and dad instead. A lot of them had a mom and dad. some only had maybe one parent. But still no one else seemed to have two dad's or two mom's even. One kid at the table then said I can't have two Dad's, which is mean cause I do have two Dad's. The best Dad's he's just jealous I bet. So I told his dumb pig face that I do and threw my drawing in his face. So he asked if I got two dad's then where did I come from. Cause mom's hold babies till they walk so who held me? I wanted to hit their dumb face. But I guess he had a good point? I don't got any moms after all? I got a grandpa, a grandma, three aunts. And three uncles. Uncle Mikey counts as both. But no I aint got any moms? Autine Von's sort like a mom but I don't think she held me? So that don't work either?
I figured I just ask about it later, over the weekend then I could tell stupid Erik I don't haveta have a mom.
So, first thing in the morning. sorta first thing at least, at least once I was awake. Papa was in the bathroom so I went to find my Dad in the kitchen he was trying to make breakfast. So I pulled a chair over and stood up on it so I could finally get my answers. And asked Dad where I came from. He seemed confused when I did so I asked where do babies come from? In case that helped. He asked why I wanted to know though. So I told him what happened at school, I guess my family a bit weird. Not cause papa is a turtle maybe should be, but cause I got two dads. Most kids in my class are like Ariel. She got a mom and a dad. Even if they are mutants too. So I was just wondering where do kids with two dad's come from? Cause everyone said I can't have two dad's because Dad don't hold the babies. But I aint got a mom I got Dad and Papa. So I asked where babies come from again. Cause I need to tell them dumb kid at school he's wrong.
Dad seemed to get weird after I asked though. He looked around and rubs his neck so I asked again. I added that since Papa is a turtle boy and Dad is well Dad, then where did I come from? Cause Dad's are boys I guess so then where did I come from? Dad seemed to finally understand.
Papa always says Dad needs extra time though, cause his thoughts take a while to happen. I guess this is what he means by that it was taking forever for Dad to just tell me my answer. No wonder papa sighs so much hes not a very patient turtle. But I can be patient so it's okay. I still wanted my answer the first time I asked though.
Dad said I came from an egg. I didn't know I came from an egg so I had to make sure Dad wasn't joking I was being serious after all. How can I come an egg birds lay eggs after all, but Dad said turtles can lay eggs too. Then he told me Papa laid an egg and that egg was me so that where I came from. I guess that made sense since Papa is a turtle? And turtles lay eggs that why I could have two dads, cause Papa was able to hold me in an egg! Papa came in after and asked what were doing, I was to busy thinking about what I was told so I didn't pay attention to them as they talked. Cause if I came from an egg papa laid and Dad was messing up making eggs? So I pointed to the eggs and ask if Papa laid any of them. Papa now look confused. So I told him like when he laid my egg. Dad sort laughed and Papa made his annoyed face at him and asked what I meant. So I told him if he laid my egg then dose that mean he laid the ones on the counter too? Cause I don't think I want to eat my brothers and sisters. If those were more of my papas eggs.
Dad just laughed hard after that, he couldn't breath and Papa turned red and charged after him. Dad started to run but I don't think he was really trying cause Papa just wound up chasing him around the apartment yelling about how Dad told me he laid eggs. Guess papa's embarrassed about laying eggs?
Now I don't wanna eat eggs again.
We went to the lair after wards but Ari wasn't around she was off swimming so I went to bug uncle Donnie. Cause Auntie Mikey is right bugging Uncle Donnie is fun. But, also I think he better explain things to me cause he's smart. So I told him about Papa laying an egg cause that's what Dad told me. He looked confused too so I said I came from one of papa's eggs but papa got upset when he found out I knew now. He laughed a little too. Auntie Mikey came in askign about laying eggs with Uncle Leo. So I told them about how Dad told me I came from one of Papa's eggs. I was pretty happy to say it too. They also laughed about it. Only worse when Papa came in to see where I ran off to. So Uncle Donnie told him what I was sharing with them all. Papa looked even more annoyed, but he's different around Uncle Donnie when upset. So he told them that's what Casey's, my Dad, been saying. Mikey and Leo ended up adding on to fact Papa lays eggs and such. But it sounded like jokes that were making Papa get all 'rrrr' over he even hit Uncle Mikey when they said something about needing to be careful in case hes carrying any more getting worked up would be bad for the eggs. Did that mean I was gonna get a brother or sister? So I turned to uncle Donnie confused and once again I asked did I come from an egg? I like how nice Uncle smiles sometimes, cause he smiled and said yes. Papa didn't seem to like that answer but Uncle Donnie seemed to find it funny?
I don't get it?
When we went back home I was quite cause I don't get why Papa keeps being upset. I think it's nice he laid my egg. So I dunno why papa's getting upset?
Dad noticed I was upset cause I was hiding in my room, I didn't wanna make Papa made again. So he asked what was wrong I told him he's not allowed to tell papa. Told that papa keeps getting upset when I tell people he laid my egg.
But Dad lied and did tell papa! meanie.
I guess it's okay though. Papa and Dad took me on the roof later so we could talk about it. Papa asked why I was upset so I told him, I didn't get why he was upset about laying my egg and everyone knowing he laid my egg. Didn't he want me after all? Papa got quite a moment and told me course he did, they both did very much. That they love me very much and were so happy to have me. I got upset and cried and said then why did he keep getting mad, if he didn't wanna lay my egg. Papa held me close and told me that's not true, he loves me. Loves that I hate cheese but like Cheeseburgers. I was still crying though and told papa he should lay a better egg then. Papa told me no, that aint happening. Cause I'm with him and Dad now. Said we got a special connection.
Papa made me look at him and Dad. Dad told me he just told me the egg thing cause he wasn't sure how to answer my question. So they told me that they were missing something thier our lives but didn't know what that was. Turns out it was me. I was what was missing and Papa said and now i'm here and i'm stuck with them. They gonna go to every hockey game I play in. Gonna be on my ass about grades. They gonna buy my first hockey gear. That they will sit front row and gonna embarrass me when I graduate high school. And that they gonna do it again for college. They said I don't gotta go but they think I could. That they gonna be there for me for it all. And someday they gonna give me away at my wedding, i made a face at that cause ew. But Dad said even if he thinks the person I marry a pissant and not good enough for his little girl. Papa told Dad that was way in the deep far future though. I smiled a little and asked if thats why papa laid my egg then.
Papa finally agreed and said "yeah, 'hat's why I laid ya egg." Dad looked pretty happy. Guess he was embarrassed.
on monday dumb Erik brought it up again and I told him when two Dad's really want a baby one of them lays an egg. That shut him up.

[07 Casey Summer]
Casey had no idea why he was doing; he didn't really understand much of anything he's been doing since his mum passed away. Things were a strange blur. It felt like he was stuck in place, while everything around him moved on, changed. He didn't like the feeling. But he figured, maybe he just needed a change too, and he'd feel better. Yeah, totally how that works.
It's why he was starting simple; his hair. That was easily fixed if he hated it. Shame he knew approximately fuck and all about it. He was smart enough to grab a box of red hair dye but, that's as far as his knowledge went. Good thing he had a daughter who knew a lot more about this than him.
Stopping at her room, Casey briefly knocks, before letting himself in. He notes the mess; one day she'll clean it - Casey will be sure to play the lottery that day,
"Dimsum, I need t' ask yer somethin'," Casey asks, glancing down to the box in his hand, "How d' yer add red streaks t' yer hair?"

Summer luckily some may say, had never be to a funereal before the one held for her grandma. Go through all the motions that came from it. Sure they still had time with her before it happened Summer asking to go every chance given, sometimes she went by herself just wanting to try and soak in every last minute with her grandma that was left. But didn't matter if those minutes span into hours, days and more. When the time finally came, it was still too soon. Summer thought funerals were meant to help with the whole saying goodbye of someones death. But it didn't help Summer in the slightest. When she would tell her grandma goodbye before during visits and such? that was different because she was there to say it back to her. Summer sighed as she was looking over the copy of the funeral program she had kept for herself. Looking at the image of her grandam on front. Listed under was some basic information to summarize her life. Summer didn't like how short it was. Felt like it should have more to it then a few sentences. Felt like it should be bigger or have more pages even.
How can you really capture all one person was in just this one piece of paper alone? She wasn't the biggest fan of the photo they picked for it either didn't 'feel' like her grandma either. Laid out on her bed, program held up in the air above her thinking of how many things shes still wanted to ask and talk to her grandma about. Summer could talk for ever enough for three people she heard pop's joke before. But, not even Summer could cram in every conversation she wanted and needed to have with her grandma. She just felt hurt now. Not the kind you walk off in a hockey game either. It was hollow.
The faint knock on her door dose snap her out of her mind as she hums a little and lowers her program down to her chest before look to the side of the door. A few silent blinks looking towards her Dad right now. Casey wasn't hiding the pain of the loss as much as he seemed to think he was. But more than Summer was aware of she just offers a smile and swings her legs over to side of her bed. Swift motion to help set her to sit up right as she did. Gently setting her program to the bedside table. The only thing in her room not half hazard throw into the mess it always was. And would be.
"Dimsum, I need t' ask yer somethin',"
"Yeah?" Summer asks with a tilt of her own head a slightl frown tug her smile down. No one could blame Casey for how he was these day's. Summer was sure the days she had to go through what he was would be hard as well. Course, she wasn't excatly in the mood to fully explore that thought shifting her thoughts back on to the small little things. How her Dad's voice was just off these days, the sadden look that filled his eyes, the way he carried himself was so different as well. His sadness was heavy and clear. Summer noticed how he looked at the mess in her room sure he always tossed out a 'clean your room' not that anyone understood why. It wasn't going to happen after all.
"If it's ta clean my room, I 'hink the bed and closet are to full at 'his point." Summer makes a mention of because that was her way of cleaning her room. She was just trying to lighten the mood a little as she started to kick her feet. Maybe it's just because shes with her Dad so much but it's so easy to feel how low and heavy his mood has become these days. Maybe working a faint smile or laugh would work? Uncle Mikey always said smiling and laughing was the perfect cure. Please be right for once.
"How d' yer add red streaks t' yer hair?"
She tilts her head further as the swing to her legs come to a stop a moment "my hair?" She reaches up to play with a strand of red at the moment. She been doing the streaks longer than the blue black she started desperately to stain her hair with. "Well I jus' get the junk from the corner store and -" Summer slwoly let's her words fall off her tongue as something click.
Moving to stand uo on her mattress as she sets her hand son her Dad's shoulders. Pushing down on them as she struggles to try and peer over the top of his head. Casey was sturdy enough for the sudden act of Summer inspecting the top of her father's head. "Jeez Dad ya gettin' all Grey again? Old age ain't takin' it easy uh?" Summer questions before moving to hop off the side of her bed assuming she has the right puzzle pieces in her head. "Last week they had a sale so I got extra! We can cover up your grays real quick."
Summer suggests hopful in tone and her gaze she has fixed on her Dad. Because well they been so down and they haven't hung out much, all the funeral stuff doesn't count. Besides Casey felt not fully here lately. Summers sure it's just grief maybe but.
"I mean I only got 'he course but we could match it'll be fun an' I won't tease ya 'bout your grays even!" She threw in a little bargaining chip not that needed it, Casey was a massive push over when it came to Summer and she knew it. As she took hold of hus wrist with both her hands and started to tug and pull for him to follow her. "Come on I wanna try and get it done before pops gets back we can surpise 'im."
Summer seemed to get her Dad to go along with her plan. Having him sat on the kitchen floor due to height as she was stood behind him taking care of his hair, making sure she got a good covering on every sliver section she found helped the red stand out more too. Section it all off so she could make it wasn’t all choppy. sure it be clear it was a home dye job but she was determined to make it look nice as can be.
"See now you an' I can match even more be like we did it on purpose, oh! I can get a mask and we can take photos together like that too!" Summer has been chatting away and away with Casey well they waited for the dye to process before having to wash it out. "Ya should let me borrow more of your clothes then we can go all put on the twinsy" Summer contuined on to talk and talk. Things she normal would hate and cringe and calling embrassing, but Casey wasn't talking, so if she kept talking, maybe he would?
Hearing the sound of the window opening had her moving over to peek over towards Raphael climbing on through the window. "Aw popd ya back too soon." She fakes a pout but gestures him to come over anyway. He'll tease Casey like always and Dad will be a bitch back. "Check it out pops!" Summer says presenting Casey to Rapphel soon moving to sit next to Casey on the floor. "Ain't done yet but once he's done well be all matching with red." She beams woth taking out her phone and holding it up to take a picture of the two of them together. "It'll look betta once done." Summer contuines on chatting away pretending not to notice.
Not to notice Casey not talking, and to not notice that Raphael seemed just as concerned himself. When he didn't out right tease Casey for doing this. Raph walked over slowly pulling over a chair from the kitchen table to sit near the two of them.
"Jeez she talk ya into it 'hat easy?" Raphael finally spoke up. And summer tried to not notice the lack of a response to follow. Raph went and slightly nudged Casey with his leg. Casey saying something thought he try it out but there's not really emotion to the words. Summer dose risk a look up towards Raphael who share her stare a moment before he jist slams his hands to Casey's shoulders. Playfully rocking Casey back and forth. "Ya know ya too old for that Case, trying to act younger now?" He teases just faintly.
Summer hopes it's enough for at least an annoyed expression. She really wishes grandma could have stuck around just a bit longer, for her Dad at least.

[2k7 ROUND TWO]
He had to tell Summer, of course he had to. Casey just had no idea how to. Casey was quiet as he sat next to her, in her room. Oh boy, this was hard,
"Summer, there's somethin' very important I gotta tell yer," Casey starts, desperate to keep it together, "See, yer Grandmother, she's not very well..."
He knows sugar coating isn't going to help, but fuck, he wanted to try and make this easy for her - if that was possible,
"Uhm, well, doctors 'ave said that she aint gonna be with us much longer," He scolds himself internally, telling himself to keep it together, "She's well, she's gonna go an' be with Granddad," He can't bring himself to tell Summer that she's dying, "An', I was gonna suggest, if yer wanna, if yer an' me go an' see her so yer can say goodbye..."
| Muse interaction
Far as Summer knew everything was just fine the day was going pretty well. School wasn't as annoying as it sometimes could be, she was on fire during her hockey practice as well. She even was heading off for the weekend to be with her sister. Heading out the door a good bye tossed out towards her Dad's before she left. Pop's seemed like himself but he kept eyeing Casey. That wasn't too out there, it was the way he was that got her. Dad? he seemed out of it, Despite the looming thought on her mind. Summer did what she was lovingly teased about, she didn't think on it. It was something to sort through later. As she pushed it away trying to call up her grandma to catch up as she made her way towards the docks. Letting her know she was going to be with her uncle for the weekend. No answer though.
It was all small little things, that set a odd tension to her stomach. Something in her head a small voice trying to voice it's thoughts. But Summer shook it off it was nothing. Her grandma was busy, her Dads? maybe they had some stuff with dragons going on. She didn't want to think about that either, it was a thought for later.
Not as long as she would like though.
When Summer came back home, she had noticed something seemed well off. Pop's smile was a little sad as he greeted her crush hug. Like he just wanted Summer to hold that energy a little long if possible. His hold around her was always pretty tight but it felt different. Despite the whole tough guy rep her dad's held Summer knew them to be the biggest huggers. But, far as Summer was concerned it only made sense seeing as to her? Her dad's were a marshmellow and a teddy bear. So she didn't think too much of tight hugs. Breaking away, Raph told her Casey would be home soon. There just something about the words he picks though, she went to dump her bag into the mess her room was and would continue to be. Shaking the duffel back to make sure it was emptied out so she could sort through it. Toss dirty clothes in her hamper, stuff like her phone cord to be put back in it's usual spot. Everything else would just join back into the mess. Summer plopped down on her bed soaking in the usual comfort her room brought her. As she pulled out her phone sending a text to her sister that she was home before moving to plug it in for a good charge so she be able to watch some videos she held off on later. Nothing against her Uncle and Aunt just home had a different feel she felt home with them too. It was just nice to be back in her own. The weekend was exactly what she needed, feeling like herself a little again.
Happily content in the mix of her cluttered and messy room. Hockey collection spread all around the place, some she got her self many gifts. Summer felt like she could breath but her moment of peace was going to end. Hearing foot steps she moves to sit up smiling seeing her Dad now too. Casey moved to set himself beside her on her bed which was odd. Pop's always said Casey's emotions could be easy to see sometimes. Summer wasn't sure if that was just him being able to pick up on it because of them being best friends or not though. Looking at her Dad she could tell something seems wrong.
"Summer, there's somethin' very important I gotta tell yer,"
The pit in her stomach starts again. As if she already been told the bad news. She had no idea what it could be.
"See, yer Grandmother, she's not very well..."
Summer's eyes widen a bit at the mention. It doesn't take much even for her to start connecting dots. Wishing he just say it and also wishing he wouldn't all at once. He breath stops as she feels her fingers curl into her bed sheets. Waiting for the answer. Her mind trying to convince her nothing is wrong, ignore the grim tone in her Dad's voice the sad gloss to his eyes. Is this what Pop's meant she randomly thought because any random thought was a desperate need to be held on to right then and there.
"Uhm, well, doctors 'ave said that she aint gonna be with us much longer,"
She wants everything right now to stop. Not for herself. For her Dad. Why? Grandma was she was grandma! She was lively, hard headed, full of life. Maybe it's because Summer was just a kid but to her the idea of death? just didn't seem possible her Grandma would just still be around. Her gripes and such always being made, how nice she towards Summer but sometimes got on her dad's case. Reducing him back into a small child nearly as she boss him around and he easily listened.
"She's well, she's gonna go an' be with Granddad,"
But he's dead, she's not dumb she knows that what her dad meant it just doesn't add up and make sense. Summer Swears as she looks away from her Dad to she couldn't say. Was she looking down? up or forward? Was she even breathing? She felt frozen she felt like she wasn't the one being told all of this. Everything before she should have paid more attention too but didn't. It's not like anything would have changed had she been more observant or asked, or confronted her Dad's on their own behaviors. But part of her felt like it would have been different.
"An', I was gonna suggest, if yer wanna, if yer an' me go an' see her so yer can say goodbye..."
For some reason she seems to reconnect to herself again, aware she is looking at her bed right now before looking up to her Dad. He sat with this for how long?
"No!" Summer yells not about what he asked she honestly didn't hear him before she stands up "No grandma she..she can' its not true!" she yells, anger the only response she can give but shes not even mad she doesn't know what she is. But it's the heat behind her words that get her to talk. "She was jus' fine! Walkin' around jus' fine and shit!" As if that was fact alone to disprove all of this. As if Doctors were wrong, as if things like this don't just happen. To Summer it was though least in that moment. "She can' be with grandad cause he's dead an' she.. She Aint!" She's clearly just upset over the news, blinking as her viwe on her Dad clouds over. Blinking hard trying to make her vision clear instead more and more tears just fill her eyes over till her Dad is no more than a blurry mess.
She standing her yelling and she can only imagine how her Dad feels, she tries so hard not to cry he's not crying. How can he not be crying! Her emotions are getting all mixed up her throat is feeling dry as she sniffs and tries to keep them back. But she know that just because she doesn't cry means this isn't real. She can ignore and shake off so many things as if it never happened. Or least, she likes to think she can. But that doesn't make things stop like her grandma dying.
She breaks, as feels her tears roll down her face, her poor Dad though. She carried a fear of losing her own parents, she knows he lost his Dad already but now her too? It was a bit easier to shift emotions his way. She tries to wipe at her face with her sleeve but it only drys the streams working down her face. Her eyes were too welled up in the moment. Instead she just warps her arms around her dad and buries her face against his shoulder. This wasn't fair. The cries of a kid not aware of the truth behind death, to young and ignorant on it. But why did it have to be her grandma she selfishly thinks, why can't it be someone else? Maybe that was wrong. Why did it have to be them dealing with it. She just lets her fingers grip tightly against her Dad's shirt bunching the fabric in her tight grip.
She can feel her Dad's arm move to hug her, like always a firm tight grip. Pulling her closer as he lets her just stand there and break into a sob. Yet her mind circles back to her thoughts before about how her Dad's were huggers. She just tightens her own hold against.
"sorry" she musters out, feeling guilty for her tone moments ago, she knows he won't fault her on it they never did after all. But she can't let go of her thoughts of how much she didn't want this to be true. If she felt that way how did her poor Dad feel about it? He seems down clearly but he seemed able to hold it together, Summer wishes she could. of course, she was also wrong on that fact. "When" She struggles to speak past her trembling words swallowing thickly "When can we see her?" she least asks. If she can Summer wants to just see her as much as possible before they can't no more.

[07 Casey and Summer]
He stood by his bike, waiting, with a grin. He always made sure he was here when the bell rang and the kids were finally freed. Casey stood when it happened, smiling more when he saw Summer, Case immediately walking forward, grabbing her and pulling her into a tight hug. Lifting Summer straight off her feet, Casey held her close,
"There yer are!" Casey exclaimed, "'Ere I was thinkin' I'd never see yer 'gain."
He knew that wasn't true, but Casey hated spending time away from his family. Being the usual lame, dorky dad he was, he pressed a kiss to her cheek, not caring for any level of embarrassment she may be feeling in that moment,
"I missed yer Dumplin'."
Not like he doesn't see her all time. Casey puts her down after a second, moving to ruffle up her hair now, chuckling,
"Yer 'ave a good day?" He asks, walking her towards his motorcycle, "Those assholes give yer anymore trouble?"

Summer, had to admit for the first time she could recall she just felt nervous. She was more used to the old school building, even the water fountains here were different from her last school. Teacher names she didn't recognize, the Gym and music room were connected. They had a computers class add in along with their specials rotation for every week. And she was thrown into this school just after they finished the week for gym putting her into learning to play a recorder? They displayed kids in art the week previous in a display case by the library. You could opt out of eating in the cafeteria during lunch to be in the library instead? Who want to spend their time in there though? Uncle Donnie would be that kid heck Ariel probably would even. She wished her cousin wasn't a mutant right now then she could maybe come to this new school with her.
Heck if she was in school with her chances are Summer never would of had to leave the last school to come here. She knows it was cause the school wasn't doing a thing to help with what was going on but at the same time, everything was just so weird and different here compared to her last school. But, guess it also didn't have kids calling her names and worse. So one point there. It was further away from home though.
In truth Summer was in a far better school than the previous one she had kept to herself most the day. Outside the usual 'hey this is the student be nice to them' speech her teacher gave. Or how she had to introduce her self to the music teacher and would have to do the same with the gym, computer, and art teachers and eventually the libraries maybe the office workers to. Not that Summer was planing to be in the office anytime soon. Summer honestly outside those few times had decided to keep quite. She sat in her seat and kept still, she didn't mention a like for turtles or hockey once. So no one looked at her or thought of her weird. It was the longest day of her life. Just waiting for lunch and recess to end felt like the worst part of her day. When most kids looked towards that time the best. Summer just wanted to go to bed. Which said something if Summer willing wanted to go to bed. When it finally came time to pack up and go though she was happy to be just a step closer to that want of hers.
Crowd of kids swarmed the building the second the bell rang out and kids made there ways out. Teachers in a futile attempt tried yelling to their classes to not forgot about an assignment they forgot to mention before the kids booked it out. Summer just wanted out of here she felt miserable if she was honest. No one was mean to her, but she hadn't talked and she didn't understand why that bugged her so much. If she kept quite then no one would know she was a freak and pick on her for it like at the last school. She just had to keep that up for well forever. Till School was over she guesses.
That didn't make her feel any better. Staring down at her shoes as she held the straps of her backpack. She could hear some murmuring from kids staying by the front doors of the building. Head lifting up when a few buzz words hit her ears. 'motorcycle' 'cool guy' and such. Smiles frown seemed to crack second she saw the so called cool guy in the 'drop off' lane. The only parent on a motorcycle mind you. Her lame dad. Skipping down the front steps and going straight into a sprint so she could get to Casey faster. Casey moved forward and easily scoop her clean off the ground her feet were once attached to as he pulled her in for a hug.
"There yer are!"
Casey exclaimed, as Summer slightly let out a playful shriek weakly trying to push free from the hug she found herself trapped in now.
"'Ere I was thinkin' I'd never see yer 'gain."
Course he was messing around Summer knew that, it's not like the school would trap her forever. It was just him being a dork as he went and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Ew Dad don't be gross." Giggling as she spoke breaking her words up between her laughing breaths. Trying more to get free from her sappy Dad, made worse because eyes were already on them from the fact Casey showed up on his bike to pick her up and well. Casey didn't exactly look like your typical parent beyond not driving some sort of van like most of the other parents in the 'drop off lane'. Meaning she was be subjected to the kids seeing how gross and lame her Dad was. Though she didn't hate it of course, but it was still very embarrassing.
"I missed yer Dumplin'."
"Daaad, you see me all 'he time dummy." Summer points out as she rolls her eyes. Finally set back to the ground. She felt lighter now seeing her Dad. The affection while gross and too much clearly was both the literal and figurative pick up she needed. Near forgetting how much she dreaded being in the building just seconds ago. As his heavy hand lands on top of her head no ruffling up her hair. Summer laughs and grabs at his hand trying to pull it away as she step out from under his hand. "Stooop" She squeals out a bit keeping her hands wrapped around his wrist despite her resistance.
"Yer 'ave a good day?"
"well" Summer starts with as she keeps her hold on her Dad's wrist, following his lead as he walks back to his bike now. Nothing much happened for her after all, since she never said a single word outside when she sort of had to do so. So she didn't get made fun of for knowing so much about turtles or hockey. She wasn't told she was too loud either. So that stuff was good right? That just made the weird feeling return though. She thinks school would be more fun if she could just do that instead.
"Those assholes give yer anymore trouble?"
Summer lifts her head up to look at Casey before she shakes her heads suddenly. She didn't want them worry anymore about her being bullied after all. She knows how upset well both her Dad's got when the truth finally came out. Moving to step beside her Dad's motorcycle though she stops before they get ready to go and looks at people looking at Casey. She knows that look the kid give it to her but they weren't aimed at her. Parents were aiming that look to Casey. It was cold and stiffing. He grip on Casey sort of tighten but could be easily missed. Chances are Casey wouldn't miss it though. She quicker her mouth and looked away looking at her Dad's bike.
She knows her family isn't normal. No one in her family was normal. Four of them were turtles, her grandpa was a rat, she had a mutant aunt and sister even. But, somehow even among all of that Casey was seen as not normal despite being human. But he wasn't normal with humans either. Sure Summer was just a kid but she knew her Dad stood out himself. She just didn't think anyone could look at him the same way? Her Dad was great though. That thought stayed with her as they got on to Casey's bike and he drove off making sure she was safe in front of him. Frown sat on her face. A bit ticked off by it waiting for the first red light they came to before she looked up to speak up.
"Hey Dad?" looking up to him easier to be heard when the engine was cooling down well stopped. "How come 'hey stared 'ike that?" She wasn't that dumb she knew that look she just didn't understand why Casey got the look. "Ya jus' pickin' me up too?" Casey didn't seem to care though even when giving the answer she kind of figured was the reason. Even if it was something so normal to here, she'd been on her Dad's bike tones of times, hell even rode with her Pop's. But the other parents didn't ride them so she had some idea it was why. But Casey blew it off like nothing. Might not been the first time even from how her Dad answered. Summer lowered her head back to look forward as the light switched and they were on the move again.
Quite the rest of the ride, her little head full of thoughts a bit too complex for a young kid her age to really have to think about. Things she knew but didn't consider. But for some reason started to make sense as well. Casey was weird, and Summer was also weird. Her dad might be far more weird than she was but it was also true. He was the reason her other Dad was a mutant turtle after all, and he dressed up to go fight purple dragons. Summer hadn't even realized they were home yet till Casey went to help her off the bike when she pipes up again.
"Hey Dad your a giant weirdo you know?" not even phased by the expression shes given. "' ike the biggest werido in the family, ya all of 'em." Shes smiling though as things seem to start making sense though. Casey was the biggest werido even among mutants. Soon moving to starting heading up to the apartment. Looking up at him as they moved up the stairs skips steps two at a time trying to get ahead of Casey. She smiles brightly before taking off spirits lifted from this thought alone. She wasn't a freak well she was. But maybe it was okay because her Dad was too but because he was? She had the life she had only more fact given as she pushed the door open and ran in to crash into her pop's hugging him the second she could. "Pops! Dad's a freak!" She relies getting the turtle to simply burst into a loud laugh. Before turning to look back at Casey when "But ya know what Dad? 'hat's okay." Which meant it was okay for her too. "Cause ya cool!"
