A03 Summary: Now that the tournament is over you can finally enjoy the closing ceremony festivities.

A/N: I got a little inspired by the fireworks show and the music. The visuals in this game are so good and we come to a close on the 4th year. Yes, I know about the game transfers, but it's still bittersweet.

You find yourself sitting on a bench on the edge of the black lake. Fellow students have gathered to watch the fireworks and listen to the band perform. The moon illuminated the night sky behind the castle. There’s distant chatter all around, and many of your friends are celebrating with the international students. You were glad the tournament was over, the stress of that and classes led to more one-nighters than usual. Thankfully the eyeshadow, poet in the night, you wore hid the bags under your eyes. For the celebration you dressed up in your Hogwarts Heritage outfit and styled your hair in a Streaked wolf cut dyed black with blue ends look.

You turn from the lake view and search the crowd to find Cassandra standing alone in the tree line. Making your way to her, you hadn’t seen her since she was released from the hospital wing earlier that day. She wore a matching outfit, obviously, the accent colors were green matching her house. Her hair was styled a bit differently like the streaked braid style, rather than letting her hair hang off her shoulder it was pulled into a loose braid that that sat on her right shoulder. The top part is styled in a volume wave that flows to one side while the other is pushed over her ear. She also wore a green bow in the center of the back of her head.

Her emerald eyes meet yours the moment you reach her peripheral vision. “You’ve cleaned up nice, for a commoner.”

“Wow a compliment, have I really outdone myself?” You do a little twirl, earning a small smile from her.

“You surprised me during this competition. I overheard what happened with Viggo…” Crossing her arms she leaned against the tree.

“Most muggle children fight with their fists so I guess you can say I had the upper hand.” You laugh at your own joke and hear a long sigh leave her lips. “I wonder if he knows what Ilvermorny wouldn’t exist without Hogwarts.“

“In the end, we came out victorious and showed you all aren’t so average after all.”

“What a year.”

“Yes, speaking of Ilvermorny. We still haven’t talked about when Violet was impersonating me. Did you honestly think that was me!?”

“Yes, I’ll admit you-she was acting a bit strange. In my defense, I hadn't had a good night's sleep and was functionally solely off pepperup…"

She cut you off by grabbing your tie and pulling you towards her, “Don’t ever fall for that again.”

Eyes wide and awake you reply, “Yes Cass.” She gently lets go of your tie and you adjust it back into place.

The choir behind began to sing your school’s song. You remove your glove from your right hand and hold out your previously injured hand to her. She takes your hand leading the two of you to sit on a nearby bench in the back. Sitting hand in hand she leans on you, her head resting between your shoulder and neck.

"You should really get a good night's rest, that eyeshadow isn't fooling me."

"Now that you are no longer in the hospital wing, I can rest a bit easier." You glanced at your conjoined hands, your thumb tracing the back of her hand. A feeling of disgust entered the more you stared at the injury that spread across your entire arm.

"Stop it." You separated your hands for a moment and wrapped your arm around her, nestling in closer.

“I'd like for all of us to have one year where no one is in any danger. I know we haven't faced anything on the same level that Harry Potter went through. But I would like to not have to worry about everyone's safety or watch my back at all times. Now that NOTME has been making more appearances and the breakout in Askaban…" You felt a hand on your cheek, pulling your direction to face Cassandra who was now sitting up.

"How’s your arm been? I noticed you were using your left hand to perform incantations.”

“Thankfully Professor Flitwick has been very patient in helping me relearn.” Your breathing subsided and your heart no longer felt like it was going to explode.

“This may be a bit late but, what are your plans for the summer?”

You forgot that the summer was just around the corner and everyone would be returning home. “I’ll be waiting tables at the Three Broomsticks. I plan to visit the city of London a couple of times to do some sightseeing. And of course, I’ll be stopping by at the Vole residence so someone doesn’t miss me too much.”

“You are not to mention ever again.” She playfully smacked your knee. “Knowing them they won’t stop pestering me so you better show up more than once this summer.”

Over the winter break, Cassandra invited you to her home after deeming you unfit to take care of yourself over the break. It wasn’t uncommon for you to neglect self-care and overindulge in your studies, but this year in particular was extra challenging with the tournament. Before the break started she barged into your room, unsure of how she got in, and scolded you for the state of your room. Rightfully so since you hadn't left your room in weeks, only leaving to get food and occasionally shower. It wasn't the worst state she had seen you in, recovering from your injury last year had been much worse, but it was one of your lower moments.

“Cass, I’ve been making to ask…” You were cut off by the sound of fireworks echoing in the air, you’ll ask her later. You look around to see everyone watching the fireworks dance in the night sky, literally. These past four years have flown by and you have made so many unforgettable memories.

As much as you wanted to relax there was this underlying feeling of nervousness. The OWLS test would be coming up next year, NOTME seems to be making themselves more known again, and you weren’t sure if your WB account would transfer over to NetEase?! Worries aside, as long as you had your friends by your side, there wasn’t anything you could not handle.

Cassie was confused when she heard Helpi's words. She had been confused the entire time, what with being forced to deactivate the security nodes and all that when all she wanted to do was find Gregory. She decided that she was going to keep doing what she had been the entire time - pushing forward.

Ignoring his advice, she continued deactivating every node she could get her hands on, relishing in the fleeting feeling of victory and pride whenever she did so.

Once she was finally done, she allowed herself to take a quick breather.

... Only to get immediately startled by the sudden appearance of the anomaly Helpi had warned her about.

It (she?) Wore quite the skimpy outfit, consisting of a violet blue bikini and a dress of the same shade. It wore a bright heliotrope pink tutu with yellow bells at the tips, with dark marian blue ballet shoes fixed on pointe. Its hair was tied into a bun, decorated with silver jewels. Its eyes seemed to be closed, but for a split second, Cassie could've sworn she saw them open, a unnaturally bright magenta glow staring back at her.

"Cassie. Stay away from that thing. It's sending out some sort of distress signal and Monty is responding."

Gregory's high-pitched voice chimed out from her walky-talky, and whereas in any other situation, she would've done as he instructed without a second thought, she found herself strangely.. mesmerized by the odd, captivating ballerina that stood before her.

It spun towards her slowly, emanating a reverberating, hypnotic melody as she did so.

"All I aim to do is please,

But it seems you just won't cease.

So I'll have to slay you now,

And have you take your final bow."

As soon as she processed the meaning behind those lyrics, her mind managed to snap itself out of its trance, allowing her to rip off the damned mask.

Taking a deep breath in order to calm herself down after what she had just witnessed, she felt a feeling blossom within her stomach.

A feeling that this wouldn't be her last time participating in a recital against her will.

Cassie sucked in yet another breath, trying and failing once again at holding back the waterworks.

(.. She was never good at handling negative situations in a calm manner, wasn't she?)

Roxy was deactivated. Roxy, who had comforted her all those years when the plates and cups lined up beside her remained empty and unused on her birthday. Roxy, who she had strived to imitate in every sense of the word - clothing, makeup.. Roxy, who was her only true friend for as long as she could remember before Gregory had showed up on that fateful day.

But it would be okay. Dad was good with machines and animatronics, so she could bring Roxy to him after she had saved Gregory! He would fix her, and they would all be together and they would have ten slices of carrot cake each! They would all be happy and everything would be-

The smell of debris wafted up her nose as she finally arrived at her destination.

Crouching, she made her way into the room Gregory would be in, feeling a exhausted yet relieved smile form on her face. It would all be over soon. Everything would be back to normal-

She was met with a box. It was a dark, metallic blue. It was labeled with the words: "M. X. E. S."

It brought to mind that godawful ballerina she had been forced to deal with all night, the biggest obstacle when it had come to saving Gregory.

Laying her hands on the computer, she was met with a choice.

"Security Protocols deactivated. Are you sure you wish to proceed?"

Oh God please YES-

The sound of a melancholic lullaby rang throughout the room of rubble and ash.

Cassie turned around, slowly facing.. it.

"Cassandra. Cassie." It's voice was soft, yet mature. It was the voice Cassie envisioned every time she had wondered what it would be like to have a mom, "Please halt. You are merely a child. You do not deserve a fate as cruel as this."

.. Who was it to say-

"I understand your anger and distrust towards me. It is not.. unfounded," It sighed, "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is M.X.E.S. I am a security program. I was built to keep the.. thing that is trapped behind that very wall contained. This involves the termination of any intruder. You must understand, Cassandra. I was.. bound by my programming to scare away any possible threats instead of communicating with them. But with the deactivation of the nodes.. it seems it has been weakened. So, I say this with nothing but honesty: I apologize. I also must ask something of you, if I may."

It's magenta eyes seemed to shine even brighter, even though there was virtually no light in this layer of the Pizzaplex.

"Please. Save yourself and turn around. Walk away. For the sake of everything.."

"Do not unleash the mindless mime that lay within these walls."

9:53 A.M.

A few hours after Goldar and Rito reunited with the boy Luckyuro and venture through the roads of gensokyo to neoxus city but all that went down hill when they're caught in a vicious crossfire between the GDF and the lunar remnants this time they brought their powerful anti-kaiju vijoka, oni-type into the battlefield. The three waste little time but to split up, goldar evacuating those who're all wounded, Rito Revolto went on a merciless killing spree, swinging his blade unleashing his powerful dark energy blasting them all apart and Luckyuro? He pulled out his toy hammer from his little bag and walked over towards the mech that stands before him.

The boy is no stranger to slaying vijoka and other lunarian weapons, but he never faced it while not in gigantic size, he thought of this like his favorite anime he watches daily as a youth. This is the moment where sizes do not matter, where david meets goliath. The mech took noticed of his appearance all beneath it's feet wasting no time lifting it's large foot slamming down crushing him but he evaded the attack only to leap into the leg running up towards the tall mech leaping to parts of it's mechanical body to get very close. Right where it turned around Curio's body is covered in purple flames acting as a powerful aura while he finally leaps into the air preparing to deliver a powerful strike not even realizing the anti kaiju machine swing it's fist into curio only for...

K R R R O O M M ! !

The hammer instead of hitting it's face but it's entire fist and from the sheer power and the impact that little toy hammer possessed is more immensely powerful and the vijoka's entire arm have been blown off to bits and pieces knocking it back as it lays on one knee from the massive damage from such creature smaller than it. The pilot gritted her teeth becoming more desperate and violent no longer accepting defeat, not even from what she deemed an abomination of Koishi Yakumo.

Luckyuro landed on his feet safely after that long fall, violet flames shrouding his body as an aura still, toy hammer in his hand ready to pummel this mech some more no matter his small size as he called it out.

" HEY YOU BIG PIPE WINKLE! DOWN HERE, AND UH... CAN YOU LET US PAST TO THE CITY SO I CAN BUY THE LATEST ISSUE?! "

The lunarian pilot dumbfounded by his odd yet childish behavior, of course she took it as an insult much like how the other lunarian species are with their pride and ego, and so the pilot waste little time control the mech to prepare it's second and last attack against the boy. The machine swing it's fist straight towards the creature with force as Luckyuro stands ready to swing his hammer for one last time, as it's fist got closer to him time has suddenly slow down, as they both have suddenly experienced an anomalous affect. What? Anomalous affect? But how? Well no matter, the anomalous affect began to give the boy a motivational boost as the voices in the ambience of war screamed and sing for his victory. The voices of the souls that had died sings their cry of justice.

" RULES OF NATURE!!! "

Time resumes, both the hammer and fists collided but the boy remain still while the pilot inside the mech widened her eyes now in a panic, seeing how immensely powerful this boy is with or without the toy hammer as she pressed it's fist to crush him but it's already useless as with Koishi's enhance strength, combined with yukari, chen, orin, mokou, and even clownpiece, luckyuro is a force of nature just like his mother now here it comes, the finale, as he set his other hand onto the mech only to forcibly lifts it's entire body up like nothing. The pilot screamed in horror while everyone in the battlefield have stopped fighting and watched the shocking sight. The voices sing louder while Luckyuro spins around faster before finally stops and tossed the vijoka in the air where he begin to disappear into the gap, then reappearing where the vijoka is flying as he falls swinging his toy hammer, into the vijoka crushing and tearing the entire machine to bits and pieces while the pilot tries kept screaming. Finally he delivered one final swing as the hammer demolishes the vijoka in half killing the pilot inside from such sheer force. Luckyuro once more landed safely on the ground while the vijoka crashes down behind her exploding. The boy stretched his arms out waving his long sleeved hands.

" I WIN! "

One GDF soldier lowered his weapon at the sight of a child demolishing the vijoka right in front of their eyes.

" ....Holy shit. "

Cincinnati’s Violet Honeymooners And Their Scarlet Divorce

The 1903 wedding of Augustine “Gussie” Ogden and Ernest Drewitz was unusual to begin with. It was a private affair, performed by a minister who signed the marriage certificate with a name – A.M. Hawnot – that appears on no other documents, anywhere, ever.

The honeymoon fascinated the public. Mrs. Ogden was a rich and handsome widow, among the wealthiest women in Cincinnati, conservatively worth $400,000 inherited from her departed first husband. She celebrated her second marriage by hiring a private railway car for the trip to Florida. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer [2 July 1909]:

“The car was lavishly furnished and was ornamented throughout with violets, the couple becoming known as the ‘Violet Honeymooners,’ and their car as the ‘Violet Car.’”

Gossips chattered not only because of the provocative and decadent décor, but because of the couple’s precipitous courtship. The marriage was solemnized barely six weeks after Mrs. Ogden had been introduced to Mr. Drewitz.

They met in a Fourth Street music store where Mr. Drewitz was employed selling player pianos. Born in Germany, he arrived in the United States as an ordained Lutheran pastor, assigned to a small congregation in Wisconsin. He was called to Washington, D.C. on a prestigious assignment as pastor of the Lutheran Church of the German Embassy. In this role, he and his wife became friends with President Grover Cleveland and the First Lady. Drewitz’s wife died and he resigned his post at the embassy to lead a congregation in Newport, Kentucky. That congregation disbanded and he found himself in the music business.

Mrs. Ogden was born in Alsace-Lorraine as Augustine Debeneth. Her family came to Cincinnati in 1876, when she was 13 years old. Her father died soon after and Augustine and her sisters took in sewing and taught French to make ends meet. When Augustine was 17 years old, she was introduced to wealthy real-estate magnate Frank Ogden at Lewis Graeser’s dancing school. Mr. Ogden invested wisely and owned some very lucrative addresses. Augustine and Frank married in 1889 and had a brief but happy marriage before Frank died in 1901. In her grief, Mrs. Ogden donated a stained glass window to the Mercantile Library in Frank’s memory. (That window, and a companion, have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.)

Mr. Drewitz was around 50 years old and Mrs. Ogden was 40 when wedding bells rang for the second time. According to repeated testimony, bliss drained out of the marriage even before they returned from their violet Florida honeymoon. The issue was money, although Mr. Drewitz kept trying to introduce saucier grounds. Among his complaints, Gussie continued to introduce herself as Mrs. Ogden instead of Mrs. Drewitz.

Although he testified repeatedly that he had no idea his fiancée had any money, it was revealed that Drewitz had signed a pre-nuptial agreement prohibiting any claim on his wife’s estate and he attempted to have that pre-nup voided. He continually begged for money, raging around the house banging on the furniture and throwing things when she refused. She filed for divorce just before their second anniversary. They patched things up and she withdrew her suit, only to refile it a few months later. Another reconciliation quashed the second suit and the Drewitzes endured a truce for four years by living apart.

Without any hint of irony, Mrs. Ogden bought Mr. Drewitz a farm in Loveland. He remained there all week, visiting her Richmond Street mansion only on weekends, under cover of night to, as he testified, “maintain their marital relations.” His appeals for money continued. He wanted to import goats from Switzerland. One day, Mr. Drewitz went too far. According to the Cincinnati Post [7 April 1909]:

“She advanced him money for a farm, she says, which he bought in his own name, and instead of securing the loans made by her he gave a mortgage on it and she was compelled to pay the notes when they fell due.”

Mrs. Ogden filed for divorce a third time in 1909. Mr. Drewitz countersued and fabricated enough salacious charges to keep Cincinnati’s chinwags busy for months.

Apparently on the basis of a single book on Indian occultism in her library, Drewitz charged that Mrs. Ogden was a devotee of a Chicago mystic named Lauron William De Laurence and was in thrall to him while studying the mystic arts.

It came out in court that Drewitz had spent years paying spies and snitches in an attempt to build a case that Mrs. Ogden was a working prostitute at the time she married Frank Ogden. There may be something to that. It is known that Frank Ogden paid Gussie’s rent for 10 years prior to their marriage. Drewitz offered a reward for nude photographs of her, though none were ever found.

Mr. Drewitz claimed that Mrs. Ogden would leave town without notice and never gave him a key to her house, so that he had to hurry home before 10:00 p.m. when the servants locked up, or be barred from his own residence.

He claimed that she objected to his friends calling on the telephone because the telephone belonged to the Ogden estate and was not a Drewitz instrument.

Despite airing all the dirty laundry,  Judge John A. Caldwell refused to grant a divorce, ruling:

“The contracting parties to this controversy were not young and inexperienced people, who might not realize the sacredness of the obligation they had entered into. They were both mature and had experience, and were of sound mind and understanding.”

Undeterred, Mrs. Ogden filed suit again a year later and was granted a divorce by Judge Almon M. Warner, who denied Drewitz’s request for alimony, calling his slanderous attacks on Mrs. Ogden despicable.

As for the victorious Mrs. Ogden, she spent the remainder of her life supporting feminist causes, encouraging women to vote and run for office, and lobbying for streamlined divorce laws. She wrote a couple of novels and produced a couple of silent movies that, based on the reviews, are mercifully forgotten these days. She died in 1945.

Mr. Drewitz moved to Chicago and got into real estate sales. He died in 1936.

                                 Chapter Two: Shout at The Devil

“What’s this? Don’t tell me someone actually wants to date you, Amane?”

You both broke your embrace to see the bored face of a tall, punky pink haired guy with glasses, holding the hand of a young girl with similar features. You wondered where you’d seen this guy before. They stood before your seated position upon the steps to the arcade on what appeared to be an intimate moment romantically, you rolled your eyes at his assumption. The little girl was smiling and dressed in a sweet, white ruffled dress with a matching bow holding lose, rose locks. He however was not smiling. He had studs in his ears as well as studs on a leather wrist band, clad in a casual black bomber jacket and khaki coloured jeans. Yuu stiffened with a glare,

“What are you doing here, Kimizuki?”

Shiho rolled his eyes,

“And they say I’m blind. I’m taking Mirai to the Arcade, dumbass. What’s it look like?”

Your lips tightened not only at his attitude but at the way he spoke in front of the little girl. Luckily, she wasn’t paying attention though, she was dragging her foot across the concrete in an attempt to entertain herself.

“It looks like you’ve been grounded, why else would you bring your sister here.”

Yuu smirked darkly and you frowned. Again, it didn’t look like Yuu but that Ichinose. It was then you’d realized where you’d seen the punky guy, he was that skater who almost knocked straight into you on your first day of joining Shinjuku high school. You were seconds from asserting as such, but Kimizuki had rolled his eyes and stated,

“I don’t have time for this.”

Before waltzing up the steps, guiding little Mirai. Yuu twisted around with a bark,

“Don’t start anything then, Jackass.”

Kimizuki half turned briefly as they reached the doors to the arcade,

“You know if I didn’t have Mirai, your ass would be grass right now.”

“Only losers rhyme in their threats, waistoid.”

Yuu scowled and Kimizuki balled his spare hand into a fist in a moment of rage before jabbing it to Yuu,

“We’ll see who the loser is when I kick your ass at school, Amane.”

Before stalking off through the doors of the arcade, not before offering Yuu a death glare. Yuu rolled his eyes as he turned his body back around away from the arcade. Your lips thinned, yep, this is definitely going to be a challenge, you thought to yourself.

You both walked along the sidewalk and reached the records store,

“This is where I work.”

Yuu beamed and you smiled in return, you both loved music. So did Mika. Better yet, Yuu actually had a job now. He held the door for you as you stepped into the store with mild awe. Rows of records lined like bookcases with band posters decorating the stone walls. You loved the edgy feel to the quaint store that was deluged in amber and red hues, it held the punk rock vibe of a basement venue. Dio’s metal track ‘Stand up and shout’ was playing in the background.

“This is great!”

You beamed and he scoffed a laugh, pointing at your attire of another soft cardigan and neat skirt and you rolled your eyes, giving him a shove as you both laughed.

“You’re late, brat.”

A husky voice boomed over the faint metal track in the back ground. Yuu’s smile dropped,

“Am not! I was on time!”

He shot back. Your eyes reflexively rolled as you saw who it was that spoke, as he emerged from behind the back of the store. None other than Guren Ichinose. He was donning a black leather jacket with studs and his raven locks were slicked back, save for a few runaways.

“You were two minutes late.”

Yuu frowned in thought and you found yourself rolling your eyes again as he furthered,

“Now I’m two minutes late for my cigarette break.”

“You can’t smoke in here?”

You asked without thinking, curiosity taking over and he allowed a sly smirk at your doe eyes,

“’Boss doesn’t like it.”

Huh. Weird, but fair enough. In that moment you recognized the jacket Guren was wearing. It’s the one Yuu had worn the other day at school. Guren raised his brows casually,

“Got a problem, Peach?”

Your furrowed brows knit together further as he stuck a cigarette between his lips. Clearly you’d looked displeased enough for him to catch onto your thought process. Apparently, you were unable to form a cohesive sentence as you staggered,

“That jacket –“

Pointing between the two boys, before scowling,

“Wait – Peach? -”

“Where d’ya think the idiot got the jacket from?”

Guren interrupted with a scoffed laugh, managing to sound cohesive with a cigarette between his lips. Your jaw dropped in that moment as he’d made his way outside, starting to light his cigarette as he swept passed. Your wide eyes trailed his wake before you huffed with the closing of the store’s front door. Yuu allowed a smile,

“He’s not so bad, once you get to know him.”

“He seems like a pain in the ass.”

You countered as you met Yuu’s gaze, he chuckled,

“Remind you of anyone?”

You quirked a brow,

“I hope you mean yourself.”

You remarked, making you both chuckle. But when you thought about it, you wondered how well Yuu could possibly know Ichinose. Not to mention how naive Yuu’s always been. You somehow just knew that there was this mysterious, dark aura around Ichinose, telling you that he had much to hide. And warning you to run away, even though it’s trying to lure you in.

Whilst you were there you were somehow roped into buying Yuu’s new favorite album.

“It’s the best rock music of ’83, I swear it.”

He lilted, fluttering his long lashes as he swayed you into buying ‘Shout at the Devil’ by Mötley Crüe. You liked rock but did you like it as much as Yuu? Unlikely. You laughed,

“What if I don’t like it?”

“You will!”

“But what if I don’t?”

You both laughed harder. You realized the song in the background of the store was now ‘Whip it’ by DEVO, a new wave synth-pop song from a couple of years or so before and you hopped up and down a moment,

“I love this song! This is more me, Yuu.”

You claimed playfully and he shook his head before insisting with a raised brow and a wave of the Mötley Crüe record,

“Ok, I’ll let you listen to my tape of it before, but I’m reserving this record for you.”

You laughed a cackle,

“You’re so stupid, Yuu.”

As you started to cave, he wore a victorious grin,

“You won’t regret it, I promise.”

“I better not.”

He laughed again before you noticed the time, gathering yourself to leave,

“It’s getting late, I better head. I’ll listen to it another time - see you at school?”

“Sure, cool. See ya.”

He waved with his smile that you were anxious you wouldn’t see. You were curious as to why the store was kept open so late, considering stores usually close by around 7pm latest. You saw Guren leaning against the building as you exited and offered a cursory glance as you walked by, only to be stopped by his words,

“You’re walking home?”

He asked, incredulous as he flicked a cigarette stub away. He thought the bike attached to the lamp post in front of the store was yours. You turned on your heel to face him with a mild, sarcastic scoff,

“Uh… yea?”

He allowed a stupid smile as he raised his brows, peeling himself from the brick wall of the store.

“Alone, at this time? You can’t live nearby.”

He stated confidently, hands in his pockets, and you retorted,

“How do you know where I live, did you stalk me or something?”

You wondered if you went too far, but he just laughed at your attitude. As he flicked his chin to you,

“One look at your clothes and I know you don’t.”

Your cheeks tinged rose at your cardigan and skirt combo and you held your arms a moment. Of course he was right, you didn’t live in Nagoya, you were just outside. He rolled his eyes but sighed, rubbing the back of his neck a moment before offering,

“Look, do you want a ride?”

Your eyes shot up to meet his and you were even more amazed at how his charming, violet eyes were sincere.

“I can get the little welp to watch the shop, I doubt he’d want you walking all that way.”

Your eyes shifted as the dusting of blush covered your cheeks again, causing Guren to tilt his head back with a small laugh,

“You didn’t tell him you were walking, did you?”

“No.”

You drew out petulantly. His smirk was starting to really irritate you now.

“D’you want the ride or not?”

He asked, his patience supposedly thinning and you huffed as you saw the darkening sky beside you, the street dimming with it with the fewer cars. You bit your lip, prompting him,

“Oh come on. No funny business, I swear.”

He spoke with a natural authoritative tone before he laughed, his hands up in a mock surrender. You fought the urge to smirk at his stupidity, giving him a skeptical once over before claiming,

“Fine. I’ll take the ride.”

“I thought you were offering me a ride?!”

You snapped, clenching your fists as you faced his stupid fucking smirk.

“I am. Here.”

He said innocently as he gestured to the push bike to his left. You fought the urge to square up to him as you two stood out back. He’d come back with a push bike?

“What are you, twelve?”

You spat only for him to break out into a boyish grin. You rolled your eyes,

“I thought you were driving?!”

You asked, astounded at his nonchalance. He shrugged,

“I never said I was driving.”

“What?!”

“I don’t drive.”

“WHAT?!”

He’d turned on his heel to stalk off,

“'Later!”

He called over his shoulder as he wandered off in the opposite direction to the store.

“So, you got Yuu to watch the shop just so you could slack?!”

You hollered to his back, eyes sending daggers.

“Yup.”

He called without looking back. You growled.

“What about your bike? How are you gonna get home now?”

You asked tersely but he only laughed as he carried on walking, making you even angrier.

“Ichinose? Ichinose! HEY IDIOT!… Dammit.”

You called irritably, only to be ignored until he left, causing you to grumble.

“Jackass.”

You muttered darkly as you mounted the stupid bike to get home.

“’No funny business’ my ass.”

You scoffed as you began to pedal.

You rode the bike back to school in order to give it back to the idiot Ichinose but quickly realized you didn’t know how to find him. He was a senior so he wasn’t in your classes, unless I find him somehow at lunch? I could ask Yuu? Ugh, I really don’t like the idea of Yuu being around that guy, he’s so shady. You grumbled to yourself, chaining the bike to the bike stands outside the school in a huff, just hoping you’d bump into him to tell him you have his bike. Although, knowing your luck, you knew you’d see him again.

“You’ll be transferring to the senior class for (F/S), and for (R/S) as well, due to your abilities simply excelling expectation, Miss (L/N).”

Mr. F. Bathory beamed in his weirdly over-excited manor, silver hair slicked behind him in a ponytail, hands intertwined in front of his chest, a lazy smirk that sent uncomfortable shivers down your spine. Looks like I could see Guren sooner than I hoped, you thought with a disappointed sigh. Mr. Bathory took you to your new (R/S) class and low and behold, Idiot Ichinose was actually there even in a class. He had an infamous reputation to skip nowadays supposedly. However, when you entered the classroom you’d cringed for an entirely different reason - It was chaos. The teacher wasn’t there for whatever reason, and there were tables on their sides, papers strewn along with random books and pencils littering the floor. Some guy with seaweed coloured hair in a red letterman jacket was being held back as he laughed a guttural chuckle, Ichinose being held back by Goshi and an ash blonde you didn’t know but recognized as their friend.

“Now, now, what’s this ruckus for? Hmm?”

Mr. Bathory asked from the door frame with a voice of honey coated ice-shards. They all dropped their hold on the two, Ichinose broke free with an abrupt jutt of his shoulders, whilst the other seemed in pretty bad shape… you could hardly make out his features they were so swollen and blood congealed. Guren’s ear was bleeding but the other guy had an eye already swelling shut. Despite this, he was smiling malevolently. It was almost creepy. Maybe he’s some kind of freak masochist, you scrunched your nose. In any case, it was abundantly clear that he’d wanted a rise out of Guren. And he got one. The ash blonde stepped forward and dipped his head,

“I apologize for the mess, Mr. Bathory. We will clean it immediately.”

You couldn’t help but raise a brow at how polite he is, being affiliated with Ichinose and Goshi.

“Whilst I appreciate your efforts, Shinya, that’s not what I asked.”

That same voice was back, threatening and he offered a small smile that didn’t touch his blazing eyes. When all were reluctant to answer, Ferid warned,

“My patience is wearing thin.”

“The psycho attacked me.”

The pummelled masochist stated with that same eerie smile.

“What?!”

Guren bellowed, almost lunging for him again if it weren’t for Goshi blocking him. You cringed, why is he still winding Guren up?  Better yet, what could he have possibly said to get Ichinose so angry? Ferid started tutting,

“Uh-uh, stop that. I’ll offer one last chance for you to explain yourselves for making such a scene before your teacher’s arrival – in fact, I’m surprised no one reported their absence, as they should have arrived by now. And you all know the drill.”

A unanimous sigh filled the room before Goshi stepped forward and admitted,

“It got out of hand when these two started trash talking, stuff like family and…”

Goshi winced with a side glance before meeting Ferid’s piercing gaze.

“And Mahiru.”

Ferid’s brows raised and he shifted his gaze for a split second before recomposing,

“I see.”

A heavy silence fell as you observed those in the room, most either solemn or exhausted. Or they were that guy who fought Ichinose. Either way, it was clear that whoever Mahiru was, it was a sore topic for all of them. The thought made a wave of compassion wash over you and you dared not ask why. Ferid measured the silence for an excruciating moment before announcing.

“I want this cleaned up. Now. You –“

He pointed at one of the guys holding back the masochist in the letterman.

“Take Hiiragi to the infirmary.”

He ordered and it was done. They brushed passed, this Hiiragi slumped over the shoulders of his escort, blood narrowly missed spluttering over you as they clambered passed and you fought your gag reflex.

“Ichinose. My office.”

Guren was still out of breath and his lavender eyes had still somehow darkened when meeting Ferid’s gaze. Mr. Bathory offered one last glance at the room before adding,

“I look forward to seeing you all this Saturday, in detention.”

A collective groan emanated from them all, which their sudden winces that followed indicated they instantly regretted the outburst. Mr. Bathory slowly turned to the class with a cocked brow,

“For that, add another Saturday. All of you.”

“What?! –“

“No way! –“

“I have plans! –“

A chorus of complaints ensued before his gaze darkened,

“Want there to be a third Saturday?”

With that threateningly silky voice. You’d realized you’d been biting your lip, having felt a small pang of sympathy for the class, after all they weren’t all involved in the fight. You tried,

“Sir? With all due respect, not everyone was involved. I think that’s why they’re upset.”

He seemed to consider your attempt at diplomacy for a second, only to smile cunningly whilst bending to your height to level with your gaze,

“Well you can ponder on that when you join them this Saturday.”

Your jaw dropped -  WHAT?! I got a Saturday detention for that?! You’ve never had a Saturday detention in your life. He smiled at your racing thoughts before rising to watch the class and caught the glares of many before stating to you,

“Welcome to the senior class, Miss (L/N).”

Before he swept out of the dilapidated class. You found yourself watching Ichinose as he swept up his denim sleeveless jacket before glancing at you and leaving the rest of you to clean up his and Hiiragi’s mess.

“AFTER that classroom is clean, Ichinose.”

You heard Mr. Bathory’s command from in the halls and recoiled as it was shortly followed by a hissed string of cusses from Ichinose upon his agitated return.

“I never thought you’d actually listen.”

Shinya teased Ichinose which flabbergasted you, he was clearly not in the mood for banter. Guren gave him a murderous glance but otherwise ignored him. Goshi laughed,

“It’s only ‘cause it’s Ferid fucking Bathory. That dude is evil with punishments I’m telling you, we got off easy as.”

After a dumb moment of watching Ichinose picking up a desk to place it, you shook yourself out of it to help them.

In Depths Below: Masquerade, Part 3

“This is it. . . “  murmured the voice of the Confessor. “No going back now.”

Two months since Kun-Lai. . .

A pair of pink eyes were watching carefully to the scene as it was unfolding before them.  Marseille; the Shal’dorei Shade of the Inquisitor was poised behind a counter which was assembled just on the north side of the lavish ballroom.  His apron and clothing very under played and toned down for the occasion.  In his hand was a serving spoon; not his weapon of choice, but it would do if he needed to extract an eye or two.  An occasion that was in full regalia and the utmost noble prestige.

Around the entire room, candles and tapestries were sent aloft from vaulted ceiling to the hand carved marble floor.  Flecks of gold and crimson to match the colors of the Sin’dorei were placed within the sealant that gave the stone work a beautiful glimmering shine, while also the perfect amount of tread. 

Markers of the House of Honeywell were hung across the ceiling like a banner to represent how gracious the host had been.  It was the most painfully obvious interpretation of the name as well.  His house crest was quite literally a honey pot shaped like a well, with a bucket.  It was sickening.  And right below that, the crest; all be it slightly lower and less exuberant, was the marker of Sunwood.  Its banner was nothing shocking, a sun rising over a tree.

The room was filled with every single luxury that money could buy.  Nearly one hundred heads would be attending.  There were buffet tables set out at every corner of the room, fresh food being cooked to order by a staff of nearly double what was needed to feed the guests.  Wine stewards, waiters and busers.  Butlers and handmaidens to cater to the need of anyone who was fortunate enough to be there.  And a list of exotic desires that would cause even the most well versed pallet to wither in envy, there was not a single expense spared.

A top the stage which was positioned in the very center of the ballroom; which of course was intended to hold full court meetings of the Magistrate if need be, was a band.  And not just any band.  This band would never need to stop.  They would never need to take a break, and their music would play on continually as the guests arrived one by one, until the point in which they would leave.  The mechanical animotronics were all keeping the mood light and up beat by offering a delightful waltz to set the affair off in a whirl of dancing and excitement.  On the bottom ring of the stage; hung by a beautiful violet and crimson tapestry was the label, “The Miraculously Marvelous Mechanical Minstrels of W.W.M.D”. 

The music swirled and danced around couples who were enjoying their time, and being entertained by such a fabulously gracious affair.  The gratuity of one who was considered to be one of the most ass-kissing members of high society, Magister Aloysius Honeywell Esq. 

He was a fop of a man.  Barely able to tend to his own affairs let alone tend to anything outside of his comfort zone.  He had a staff of nearly twenty to tend to his every desire, his every need, his every waking moment.  And at the top of that list was one very selective individual. 

The Compellor.  Sennaris Dal’talah had infiltrated his estate almost a year to the date.  Part of a plan that Lazarius had been trying to institute at the height of their power.  Around the time when her injuries were sustained fending off the elemental within Grim Batol.  They had tried to come up with a way to utilize her empathic powers of suggestion to attempt a more coup-de-ta approach to eliminating their enemies.  As opposed to causing her the anguish of more burns and wounds.

Honeywell trusted Sennaris with every matter.  And why wouldn’t he.  She was the perfect fit to his house.  Obedient, and polite, she was humble and timid.  She served her master well.  And he was quite taken by her.  A benefit of being so suggestive with a single touch is she could easily sway him one way or another; thus her influence over the simple man was as basic as a flick of her wrist.

It was Sennaris who planted the bug in the ear of Magister Honeywell.  It was Sennaris who was the conductor of this orchestrated rouse.  She had masterfully manipulated the powers that be and forced this event into full swing.

“M-master. . .”  Sennaris spoke every so softly, in that sweet alluring tone of hers.

The golden eyed man was soaking in an elekk ivory tub; carved from one of the largest that Nessingwary ever hunted.  It was made from its tusk and turned into the bathing vessel, he spared no expense.  As he soaked in the simmering hot water with petals of rose and jasmine surrounding his submerged body and the scent of fresh honey lofting through both flora, he opened an eye just barely to give the standing maiden a glance.

“What is it Sara.” groaned the man as if he was exhausted having to glance at her.

“D-do you recall last we hosted a gala, you had said I c-could arrange another if I behaved.” it was clear that she was under this alias to prevent the man from every knowing her name, and so she responded in her meek tone.

“Unnnng.” he groaned, of course remembering and hardly caring. “What of it girl.”

Sennaris bent at the knees and curled against the edge of the soaking mans arm as she whispered softly against it.

“Might we have another. . .” she begged innocently.

“Unnnggggggg” he groaned louder.  It was no lie that he did enjoy hosting these events, but enjoyed it even less when having to organize them.  By which he did literally nothing but say that he wanted to organize one.

“M-master, I have been so good. . .”  her voice sang out. “So very g-good. . .”

But again there was just the grumble of tones and gurgling of groans.

“It would p-please my M-master to know that it would be a most gracious g-gift celebrating my birth.”  she would try again, but this time her scarred blackened fingers would lightly press against the golden tones of his forearm as it rested along the edge of the bathing vessel.

“Your birth. . .” he repeated almost feeling a sense of euphoria wash over him. “Another gala. . . “

“It would be the perfect time to do so.  I was speaking with the lady in waiting within house Sunwood, she says that something had developed concerning your arrangement with Lord Magister Dawnseeker.”  she forced onto him the information that was being used to plot their course.

“Sunwood, that pompous prig.  How is he within the good graces of Dawnseeker.”  Honeywell hissed as his eyes remained shut, and his tone slowly mellowed again with her touch.

“She says that Magister Sunwood has a gift for him.  She says he is planning to bring to his wine tasting at the end of this month, Master.”  Sennaris swayed him again, placing the bait which he would have no choice but to take.

“A gift. . .”

“The young Miss Kash’ebahl.”  Sennaris said in a hushed tone quietly letting it sink in.

Honeywell lay there in his hubris, soaking in the lavish liquids of his wealth as he wondered what this would mean for his future.  His place within the hierarchy that Dawnseeker was trying to construct within this group of magisters.

A darkened thought of fear then slowly washed over him.  Contemplating the existence of his own house.  Wondering when the time would come that Dawnseeker and the rest would consider the House of Honeywell to be expendable.  If they were so quick to unify and eliminate Lazarius and extort him for what he was worth, it would mean that he too was on the chopping block.  Lest he was able to cling to the right hand of the powerful man in charge. 

His panic was stricken with thoughts of loss and the anxiety of having to flee the city state.  Go into hiding or something far worse, service within another house.  He would near go insane trying to banish the fears from his mind, hoping that the salvation would come if he could only some how remain within the graces of his lord.  Somehow if he was able to only. . .

An epiphany.  Honeywell’s eyes came to life as he peered toward the innocent girl sitting beside him.  His mind was aflame with an idea burning to be released.  And in his joy of realization; sat forward and gave his maiden the answer she was seeking.

“Send word to Magister Dawnseeker that it will be I who is going to host this months event.  In celebration of his lordship and success over the House of Kash’ebahl.”  Aloysius smiled widely.  His golden honey hues falling on the now smiling Sennaris.

“Right away Master.” she nodded several times, still kneeling beside the vessel.

“And inform Magister Sunwood that I would be overwhelmed with joy to give him center stage in presenting his quarry to our lord, and that this event will also be to commemorate his success.  It will be the house Honeywell that appears the most humble of all as we honor those around us for their success, but giving praise and celebrating a victory for us all. . .”

Sennaris bowed her head and slowly rose from the side of the tub.  She quickly rushed from the side and made for the exit where two other hand maidens were currently waiting to dry their Master.

“I will deliver your decree immediately.  And see to the preparations myself. . .” she said as she cowered and fled from the chamber. 

And as she strolled down the hall, righted her stance and elongated her spine in a walk of success.  A smile of confidence to match her swagger. The seed had been planted, and already sprouted a fruit baring tree.

By the far side of the last catering service was the Delightful Delicacies stall.  It was there where the Confessor and Shade were posing as simple servers.  Verzatea had made a name for herself in Silvermoon City, competing in the battle for bakery of the year.  Her little shop that Lazarius had helped to fund was the perfect way for her to remain within the city but still maintain a presence in the underworld. 

As the owner, she could freely make deliveries and organize little business meetings which would ultimately help her to funnel any information back to the order.  But not only that, the bakery was a wonderful way to launder money back into the pockets of the Kashebahl family.  Since a large portion of their fortune was lost due to the war, and other unforeseen circumstances; Lazarius was benefiting from two separate forms of income.

The first being “Curiosities & Collections” which was the small antique and rare good boutique he ran with Brox Sulfin in Old Town; Stormwind City.  The prime source of moving their rare items around and profiting on whatever they could to continue to to support their order.

The second source was pushing money from illegal activities through the bakery.  Money that was produced by selling the drug “Io-Cerebellum”.  A drug that catered to the higher society nobility and was worth every copper to the people who were using it.

Lazarius had discovered that the residue being burned off from the Void Forge was actually an unaltered and ninety six percent pure form of straight magic.  It was in this crystallized form that Doctor Whistletorque and the Inquisitor would purify it further by reducing it down; burning off whatever excess remained and combining it with a few other choice ingredients. 

The first being his own blood.  The addictive substance that pumped through his veins was teeming with a parasitic life form that had merged with his genetics.  By killing the entity in only a small vial of his blood, and heating it to a ridiculous temperature, they found that they could utilize the mind alter effects the blood had when entering someones mouth; a result of the parasitic being, and not have it traced back since it was nearly destroyed in the process.

The result of the pure uncut void energy, the hallucinogenic property and mind altering serum of his ichor and liquefied Azerite was all combine to make one of the most additive and potent substances the community looking to have the magical high could find.  In the end “Io-Cerebellum” was a profit they needed. 

Lazarius would push the rock salt like drug through his connections within the nobility in Stormwind.  And using a careful system of laundering, eventually move that money back through the Bakery in Silvermoon City, and keeping the profits funding the war efforts of The Nine.

He wasn’t proud of this, the drug was not in production for very long.  They’d only made enough from one vial of his blood, but it was enough to sell for at least several months now.  Though in his absence, the push for making money was far less; Lazarius would have been proud that despite all that had happened, not a single thing had gone out of place and the order remained strong because of these remarkable people.

Guests continued to pour in through the front vestibule and greet one another with playful words and boisterous laughter.  In that calm little corner, Verzatea stood beside the other Sin’dorei who were casually chatting with guests and serving items out on the floor. 

Marseille was busy trying to pretend he knew what he was doing, but the man was terrible at cooking.  His mind was never purely on the task at hand and in most cases, the disguise wearing Shal’dorei was only giving the appearance of actual work.

“Do not take your eyes off of her.”
