hello mal. would you share your favourite charlos moments as teammates? i would love to know what you really think is the best

Hello! I was putting this off bc it was causing me much distress just thinking about which moments I would choose, but here we are! You didn't specify how many so I narrowed it down to my all-time top 10, with a few honorable mentions.

You did specify 'as teammates', so I'm gonna leave out the infamous singapore 2018 pool, tho it is an all-time charlos moment to be sure... The order is honestly kind of random because I found it really hard to rank them (don't ask a mother to choose her favorite child!)

10. Cookie decorating!! (2022) - I love this video so much (which is why I made a whole charlos flirting video essay about it). It's just chock-full of classic ways the two of them interact and joke around (Charles trying to blindfold Carlos for him, constantly trying to steal things out of his hands, both whistling/humming the same song at different points, touching constantly...). And why were they sitting like this?? (we know why) Anyway, I don't think we talk about it enough.

9. Monza Ferrari battle (2023) - I simultaneously love and hate this moment asfghdka which is maybe why it's down so low on the list. It's the most adrenaline and anxiety I've ever had watching F1 (I was literally running circles around my living room, yelling at the TV). But I think it also just exemplifies how competitive the two of them are, how hard they race each other without crashing. Like, their rivalry is core characterization for them, therefore it had to be on the list!!

8. Bahrain 1-2 (2022) - A classic!! Their first double podium and 1-2 as teammates! Their hug in parc ferme!! Carlos trying to pour wine into Charles' mouth on the podium!!! They were so giddy and happy, and it felt like the start of an incredible year...(we all know how it really turned out 🥴) This could maybe be higher on the list, but it feels so long ago now that I think I'd need to rewatch the race to draw back up those emotions again.

7. 'Lord Perceval' is coined (2021) - This whole moment is so cute, and it became pretty iconic since the team would go on to use the nickname a lot, and it spread throughout the fandom. It's sort of funny bc they were clearly joking around, but it caught on. They became the Smooth Operator and Lord Perceval, and I think that's beautiful.

6. Monaco hug (2024) - It was actually harder than I thought to choose between this one and the Monza '24 one. They both feature Carlos being super happy for a Charles win, his patented charles hair grab, as well as charlos cradling each other heart-to-heart, cheek-to-cheek. ❤️ I went with Monaco bc it came first in the year so had a greater impact on me, and bc Charles finally broke the Monaco curse.

5. Carlos' birthday surprise (2022) - Set the standard for Charlos birthday shenanigans. Charles complaining about his legs cramping in the cupboard LOL. I just love how happy Carlos looked in all those clips... Also, they were on their honeymoon that weekend or something, because there was also the 'I know you very well' hilarious lissie mackintosh vid and the 'you're doing great love'.

4. The bracelet video (2023) - Just...iconic. Charles asking Carlos for help with his bracelet and Carlos calling him 'darling,' asking for a kiss afterward. They've never been more married.

3. THE tiktok (2022) - This might be too high on the list tbh, but for the sheer shock value of waking up to it that day and the mania it caused in the charlos community, it's a hard one to beat. 😂

2. C² song challenge in Fiorano (2021) - this one gets the place of honor as #2 bc it's charlos' favorite moment together (along with Bahrain '22). They've both mentioned a few times that they fondly remember that day, and how much they laughed. It's also at the very beginning of their partnership, and it shows how immediately they acted like giddy besties.

1. Chili plushie (2024) - Okay. I guess?? This is my all-time favorite charlos moment??? 🥺 It was my favorite of 2024, so it could be recency bias. But something about it being the start of their bittersweet end...Carlos gifting him the chili...'so you remember me for the rest of your life'...Charles in his denial era...oof. I just really love these two, and this moment made me emotional about their years of friendship, rivalry, and shenanigans soon coming to an end.

This was so hard!!! But alas, I forced myself to narrow it down, and also to try and represent all of the years of their partnership, in different scenarios (racing/non-racing). Obviously, there are so many other amazing moments, so I'll consider it a blessing that we are so spoiled for choice as charlos fans ❤️

What a year, huh.

I'm not going to talk about how everything is going to shit in the real world, that's not what this post is about.

I can remember that before Gotham, I had a bit of trouble trying to get inspired about art. I did end up doing a lot of original art due to that, tho. Gotham was the nice return to a hyperfixation that got me back to creating, which felt like a saving grace tbh. I draw A LOT, you may have noticed. I thank my ADHD for that. So, when I'm unable draw I do struggle spending my time in any meaningful way.

I also started reading again this year. Murderbot Diaries got me by the throat, I love those books so much. I've also liked T. Kingfisher's books so far, haven't read that many yet, tho. I also read in english, not the translated versions, so it's a nice way to "use" my english skills.

I finally started needle felting this Christmas! I've been meaning to do it for yearsss. Bunnydog was my ever first attempt, Slowpoke was my second.

Arcane season 2. Woohee, I had totally forgotten when it was going to drop! It was a good thing tho, I was saved from a lot of painful waiting around, hah. I might've chickened out of the Zaundads fandom back in the day but it's so much more chill now. Well, kind of. I do see people complain a bit in the tags. Plus I bet it's a lot worse in other sites. ANYWAY!

I feel like that in this short time after season 2, I've gotten better at art and got my groove fully back. I am so grateful for people who just keep being so nice and support me here adsfsdfo! I said it back in 2021/2022 I think but I'll say it again: zaundads fandom has been one of the nicest fandom I've been part of. (I have to mention tho, so is riddlebird fandom)

I'm still a bit overwhelmed with all the attention I'm getting, I admit, but I am also so happy I get to share my unhinged love for this stupid little man.

My next year will start with job hunting and balancing my mental health (I've been "in recovery" for years, it's gonna be a adjustment to start working. I am still very much struggling but not as much so I have to find a job that doesn't kill me in a month lol).I've also made one new years resolution which is that I will more actively display and live my preferred identity and not just go "eh whatever, I know how I actually feel like so". Not gonna be easy because I get embarrassed about everything and will want to backpedal so hard at the start but uhhh...I'll try not to? Eh.

Yea. So a lot of new things for the next year and I already feel tired. But hopeful!

Court is just more extroverted, while Shayne is the opposite. I believe that is why they mesh so well. Obviously we can't help people who just want to dog on Court/Shayne, but it would be nice if people weren't being so parasocial/nitpicky.

Albeit not many, it shouldn't even be said, especially as a "joke". Don't even get me started on that, I hate that excuse more than anything. Calling Shayne a cuck is outright inexcusable.

At the end of the latest hide & seek vid, Court/Arasha jokingly went in for a kiss while Shayne was standing right there. Some "deduced" that Shayne was upset given his body language.

Some comments were asking if this meant Courtrasha was setting sail, what?

I feel like every time I watch a Smosh vid post announcement, there is a convoluted/egregious remark made about either Court/Shayne.

I might be in the minority here, but I feel like whenever Shayne gets any flack it is more or less ignored.

The argument usually: he didn't say anything, so it isn't a problem.

I'd wager that he doesn't have an issue with Court being themselves. But I would argue if he saw people calling him a cuck in the comments, which they read occasionally: would bother him/let alone anyone, right?

Shayne without question is secure in his relationship and has thick skin, but come on. How many times are we going to have to do this song and dance?

Court and Shayne are married, they can be playful with their friends and it doesn't have to mean anything else. Do people want them to cheat that bad?

Just because Court is bi/pan, it doesn't mean that every interaction they have with a fellow female/femme presenting cast member is considered flirting or cheating. I remember Amanda joking about flirting with friends on a reddit story a long time ago, but when it comes to Court, people usually take it too far.

There were comments on Court/Amanda's trip to Canada a few months back and frankly anytime they are sitting in proximity to anyone who is a female.

I apologize for being long winded here, but this is just so stale at this point and has been for quite some time.

People can allegedly say whatever they want about Shayne because he hasn't said anything in particular, while Court gets accused of cheating just for existing/having female friends. Before the announcement, there was an influx of rumors/comments insinuating Court and Spencer being a couple. But, now that they are public, you don't ever hear about that anymore for obvious reasons, not to mention Spencer's current relationship status.

I know people are gonna ship whomever regardless, but Court only gets shipped with their female castmates from what it seems and it is quite overdone.

There is nothing wrong with having favourite ships, but that doesn't mean you need to say it publicly.

Why people need to say these things on COURT 'S SOCIALS of all things, I'll never understand!

I wouldn't put it past people, but do they seriously think that Court would take any of this stuff into consideration? Just because you write it in a "jokey" fashion and add no offense/jk at the end makes it ok?

Above all else I want Shourtney to be happy and for people to respect their relationship. But some think just because certain things like cyberstalking aren't happening than everything is fair game? Tbh, it is tiresome and inappropriate.

I think a lot of people need to understand that Shayne and Courtney are the exception, not the standard. They were shipped with one another for years and we ended up right about there being some sort of feelings on both sides. Just bc they’re a thing and it worked for them doesn’t mean everyone who “flirts” at smosh is dating. Yes there are a few couples that both work there, but that doesn’t account for everyone else if that makes sense. But I think people mistake Court’s bubbly personality as being in love with everyone which isn’t true. Shipping can be fun every once in a while, but saying someone is cheating or being a cuck is insane. I keep saying this, but it truly baffles me how some people think. I’m the type that always tries to understand where people are coming from, but with things like this idk if I can.

Oh god these were. Well. The first one I got exactly right, actually! The second one gave me ENDLESS fucking trouble and unfortunately, you can see it's damaged (not in these pics -- I was undoing/redoing So Much). BUT. The important thing (and maybe I'll capture it eventually...?) is that they have a fun dangly effect! They're SUPER CUTE TBH. Made out of jump rings, tiny chain links, and that ball weight thing at the end of an adjustable necklace. All of which, were harvested from necklaces I don't wear anymore/have never worn LMFAOO. I lucked out w the tiny blue beads, I spent forever looking for ANYTHING that would work yesterday, but to no avail. Until I finally found my case of mini mini beads I just couldn't find yesterday LMFAOO (these were the only two like them! Which is also a shame that one did get so damaged, but. What are you gonna do lmfao)

EXHIBIT B:

Not a huge fan of the placement, but. It was a shoddy at home job, anyway (don't pierce your ears at home! 😨😰). These little bead rings are also from a necklace I never ended up wearing, and maybe that's fortunate. They're kinda cheap plastic w paint on em. I imagine, with wear/being pressed against skin, the paint probably would have come off (here's hoping it doesn't here! I feel cheated... but I mean. I don't know why I expected anything different LMFAO). Every time I tried to cut a slot, I just snapped them LMFAOO... they glue back together alright, though. Alls well that ends well! Sharena will have a pair like these too, once her dangly earrings are in!

And. Moe still doesn't have ears, yet. But! Sharena is here to help! 😊

I'm hoping to use these little black beads and layer them in such a way that they look like gauges! I'd prefer to sew them on, ideally. Glue would probably be a last resort... I just don't want to run the risk of losing any parts. At least I have multiple of these ones, but. They're also from a broken bracelet I found on the ground. So. Limited supply.

As for Moe's silver hoops/clickers, I don't want to have Sharena model those. I tried initially, but these (I think they're washers? Also stolen from my dad's stuff) are a lot more heavy duty than a jump ring. I actually scuffed up one of Sharena's ears, trying to fit them on. She's okay, but it was definitely too close for comfort! But that's really good information to have. I think I should insert the earrings to the ears separately, before they're attached to the head. So I have a LOT of room for error and potential destruction LMFAOO 😭🧍 I really like the industrial look the washers give, though! It suits Moe REALLY well tbh, ESPP paired w the angel fangs made out of nails!!!

All in all, I'm EXTREMELY happy w Sharena's dangly earrings! They were really challenging, but sooooooooooo cutes........ I'll def have to like. Post a vid or a gif or something, at a later date (when it's all put together!). And I'm really happy this is the route I chose, for everyone's earrings! LIKE. I had half a thought of using various stitching, which could have been neat too. But. The miniature jewelry............ made out of various beads and chains and objects. Makes me SOOOOO HAPPY. It's just SO fun visually!!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺 I don't know how well matched it'll look when I have to get to shit like armor and buckles, but. Eh. Fuck around and find out. For now, they're CUTE 😤😤😤😤😤

this is gonna be long, but,

i used to be into youtube fandoms alot but the only ones ive retained are dan and phil and smosh. i was big on phan but i fell out of it years ago, i still like them but im more of a causal viewer than a rabid racoon frothing at the mouth every time some content drops.

(and also realised, as im no longer a teenager anymore, how shipping real people together is tricky and there are boundaries you dont cross and should be handled a particular way)

Yes! Rpf is a tough area! I've said it before but the most important thing is the ppl themselves and their feelings! If Shayne or Chanse (or anybody from Smosh or that knows them tbh) asked me to stop, I would in a heartbeat! I, of course, would never intend any harm! And we see such a small snippet of their lives, its truly just based off their internet personas. My one rule is that u shouldn't go out of ur way to shove rpf into the ppl's faces unless they've said their okay with it! (Example: Them finding a fic by themselves is not the fault of the author, but the author sending it to them constantly crosses some boundaries)

A bit of a personal commentary of the recent stuff involving a dude that payed about $50,000 for what appears to be a Self shipping video

I've heard many things of this whole stuff, but I'm gonna add i don't know all of the sides on here but I just really wanna say something about the whole situation, even if I'm just someone who is barely known on the internet and world...

Why all the criticism and hate?

Yeah, I know the dude is known from the animated rap battles, and it may be a bit "bizzare" to now know he likes a fictional character so much he paid almost (exactly or even more, not 100% sure about this info) for a music video with him and this character, And....

I say good for him honestly

I just, I don't understand all the criticism and hate he's been getting?

Yeah sure, he was someone that maybe we wouldn't think he would like this character on specific, or anyone to pay "so much money" for a vid, but at the end of the day he's still a human

And the most important thing here, he's not harming no one

which I want to clarify I'm only "defending" him because I have not heard any information of any harm towards anyone being done in this situation so far, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't

He just likes a character, AND it's his money at the end of the day

He didn't do it because he wanted to cause cringe or attack the creator of the character

He did it because, he simply likes a lot the character, probably liked the song to, and wanted to see these two thing together, which is good! The song ain't attacking anyone, the animation ain't hurting no one, not even him is like "HEY LOOOK, I PAYED FOR THIS!1!1!!1!"

It's a personal thing, that was filtered accidentally, and I think y'all should leave him alone

I too have my own stuff that is personal, and sure that if it got public I would get my good amount of mocking and hate comments, BUT IT'S A PERSONAL THING!

I don't think he knew or was like "ah yesss, trace the original animationnnn", so you keep him out of that

And tbh, if it was a personal animation, like, there's no profit taken from that, it may have been more helpful to trace that rather than have a Charlie that just looks wonky, plus, again, it wasn't meant to be something public

Second....

"OMGGGG!!?!? WHY 50,000KKKK?!!?!?!?? THAT'S LIKE SO EXPENSIVEEEEE"

Yeah, as a semi animator myself, Animation takes time, it's work

And seeing the whole animation, even just a few seconds, the animation does have his effort put into it, it has characters, colored, a background which also moves, and overall it's goodly cleaned!

The dude also said it! It was made by a whole team, not just one person

Look at it like this, you are part of the team, maybe there are like.... 8 on the team, you do the backgrounds, and all of that takes your time, maybe you even sleep late for it, and all you get payed after all that effort and nights of working is 20$ dollars

You barely can buy something with that, maybe a carton of milk, the prices and economy aren't really friendly these days

Yeah, that doesn't really sound fair does it?

If anything I would praise the guy for paying all the amount that was asked for what he wanted, because some people on comparison.... Oh boy

And third, many say that this is out of character for Charlie, that she has a girlfriend and stuff like that

Yeah, says the same person that sexualizes alastor even despite the fact that he's canonically aroace, and yeah, I'm personally a whole fanatic of Charlie and Vaggie, but if someone likes Charlie and wants to ship himself with it I'm okay with that, he ain't doing it because he wants to make me mad or harm me, he just liked the character a lot

Also, when you like someone, yeah, you may accidentally make them differently than what they are in your head, and that applies even on real life relationships

So yeah, that was my personal humble opinion on the situation

Just.... Leave the guy alone

Put it like an ice cream

He wanted and ice cream, maybe cheese ice cream (yeah, that exists and it's fucking delicious), but he did it on private exactly because he knew people don't exactly think and just start attacking and mocking anything that may be unusual, and he just didn't want to deal with all that

But then someone saw it, took a picture of him eating his ice cream happily, and showed it to everyone, and that's how all the fire started

I think all of this situation is silly really

It just reminds me that there are many people that just do that for laughs or because on their head it's a whole war if someone thinks different than them, and then they are all worried and confused why the person they bullied is now either mad, or became bad

Just let him be

Hey so this is really just a dumb I thought I’d put up. I haven’t even watched Wish tbh but I have been obsessed with this song, only the demo version. But even with it being the best of all the songs, it still has some weird lyrics and lines I felt I wanted to change. I only did this from the simple idea of love songs and stars/space as a central idea. I didn’t change much really, just changed what I thought set it back from being the best. I don’t know if really made it that better but I just put what has been coming to my head while I sang it plus some line I really tried to make sound better, with some help from bingeing Jonah Who Two’s videos on rewriting some of Wish’s songs and listening to his reasonings he gave the lyrics he chose. Also shout out to Astor Rhymemaster cause I watched her video on a wish song too and binged some of her vids

Home safely from DragonCon!

Overall we had a great time! We got some awesome swag, attended some great panels and events, saw a lot of cool cosplays, ate tasty food, and saw friends we only get to see at con. Although being around so many people (like 85k) and there being multiple reports of attendees testing positive for c*vid had my germophobia on high alert. That made it hard to enjoy myself sometimes, and I had a couple of anxiety attacks, but I was masked almost all the time and have my vaccinations. I currently feel fine, but I'll be testing myself this evening regardless and probably again in a few days.

Sadly I did not meet the tall, skinny, sneezy, nerdy guy of my dreams. Why does my husband get to hook up with a cute guy at con and not me? 😭 (I'm actually really happy for him, tbh, he deserves it. Also I'm extremely picky about guys, so that's probably part of it lol.) Back to real life now, I suppose. I know I still owe folks some commission work, so I'll be getting back to that soon.
