A break from our regularly scheduled programming: a DBHC Docm77 reference sheet!

This is something I’d like to do for all of the androids as I get more familiar with their designs and story, so I don’t know how long it’ll be until all of the androids are done, but for now, here’s a little bit of a peek into my thought process behind doc’s design! His never-before-seen Pre-Deviancy design was both incredibly fun and incredibly disorienting bc for real who is that man DBJCGHK but he’s also kinda fun to draw =w= So I may do some Beginning of S8 doodles or comics at some point for fun :3

Recently binged all of Tango's S8, and got hooked on the story he told at the end. Took some inspiration from VioletFire's "Space Man" animatic on YouTube as well.

According to Martyn's lore, people leave the series (temporarily or not) because their emotional state is still hurt by the trauma of past events.

For example, in LimLife, Pearl "left" (and her vessel was replaced by Lizzie) due to the traumatic events of Double Life. Cleo switched out because of the shock of making it into the top 4 in the previous series.

Anyway, I'm saying all of this to propose something:

I dont actually know how the comunity sees voidwalkers, but in world based on minecraf my friends and i used to have they were humans stranded in the end and that got changed by the inviroment to look more like the enderman

"My eyes make everything I see a shade lighter to compensate for unreadable shadows, and dims light sources so they dont overwhelm my vision. I think it's because I'm a nether-born species, and things hiding in shadows usually are things I need to be aware of, and my eyes dim light sources so that I'm not blinded by lava glow."

Scott: "See, that makes sense. Jimmy on the other hand..."

Jimmy: "I'm perfectly fine, not at all colorblind."

Scott: "We figured out that he actually can see every color like normal. Except for black?"

Jimmy: "It's not that I can't see black, I can! It's just most things you think are black are green or purple!"

Tango: "We've chalked it up to, it's a bird thing."

Jimmy: "If it's a bird thing, then how come Grian's never noticed it?"

Scott: "Probably because he not a bird-"

Tango: "He's a different species, obvs!"

Bonus rambling about my design Thoughts because I want to:

Honestly most of it is just looking at an animal and thinking “yeah that has Tango energy”; notably:

Pangolin (tail + scales)

Tiger (general body shape + stripes (and lil paws!!)

Bull (horns)

I also thought about adding some armadillo lizard in there? Because again,, the vibes - but honestly that’s pretty well covered with the pangolin lol

Most of his markings are also meant to mimic chrisrin’s design! I pretty much just slapped some extra stuff on top for the corruption, since carnelian can have little veins and spots in it sometimes. I honestly didn’t look at references for super long so they’re not super accurate to what those look like in the actual gemstone but whatever. They look cool. Also I gave him freckles because I can and they’re cute.

I changed the colors because, tbh, they clashed with the fire I drew LMAO. But! Also carnelian can be very orange and corruption changes the colors of gems sometimes anyway (if I remember right, at least).

I tried to mimic the au art style to an extent but I have never been good an mimicking styles lol so it didn’t exactly turn out. I don’t think it’s too far off though! Especially in the design itself. The big ol’ chompers is definitely su energy

Canary's thrill, the first to kill - chapter 8 (fragment)

Last chapter before session 7 comes out! Much more chill one, not a lot of action, but just what I like the most I think - writing conversations and interactions between characters :3

"Tangoooo!" Jimmy landed softly right in front of the wooden shack that his friend inhabited. Well, at least he would've, if it wasn't for a huge gaping crater, which all of a sudden emerged on his front yard. "Woah! What happened here?"

"Hi Jim!" the blazeborn peeked from his window, his tail flicking behind him in a mischievous way. "Yeah, Skizz tried blowing up my house! Good thing his aim sucks..."

"But your doesn't, as I've heard?" the phoenix looked up at him with a smirk.

"Hell yeah! Wait, I'll come down to you!"

Tango closed the door and after just a few moments, he opened the front door to greet his friend. He let out a soft meep as he narrowly avoided the huge hole right outside of his doorstep. Jimmy chuckled and reached out his hand to assist him. The blazeborn hasped with excitement.

"You've got talons! Wow!"

"Pretty cool, huh?" Jim smirked and the moment Tango grabbed his hand, he pulled him closer. The shorter man let out another squeak as he almost pushed the phoenix, landing right next to him. "Careful! You don't wanna be eliminated next, huh?"

"Naaah, there's no way, man! I'm still on green! You, on the other hand..." Tango smirked, leaning against his friends and put his hands on Jimmy's chest. "I'd give you a life right now, if I could..."

"I'll be fine... I'm winning this time, no matter what. and you better be there to see it!"

"Oh yeah? Well, that would be interesting, for sure..." Tango teased him, reaching out and stroking his finger through one of his lesser wings. Jimmy let out a happy chirp as he squished the man against himself. "And how are you going to achieve that?"

"Well, I have a few ideas" the phoenix smirked, his cheek rubbing against Tango's. "And I actually came here to ask you something..."

"Ask me? About what?"

life series curses are SO funny to me because you have jimmy with the canary curse (very cool and angsty) grian with the widow’s curse (also very angsty) and then tango with the lame stupid death curse

Tango:

Trash talker, though ultimately uninventive about it

Average at pvp shooters and that’s what they’ll tell you they play, but secretly loves point and click adventures, the less dialog the better. (Ie Machinairum)

Hard to tell if they’re enjoying the game or the insulting more, but all is all having a good time

Annoying winner and a cranky loser

Picks armour clothes and weapons for the looks even if the stats suck.

In minecraft is good at redstone but will hog all the the resources they mine in the process, good luck convincing them to build you contraptions, refuses to wear a pumpkin so gets beat up by endermen occasionally

Murphy:

Unfairly good at rhythm games, she just really enjoys them! (ie Rhythm Heaven, curse of the necrodancer)

Is a sucker for gaming on any kind of contraption or gimmick (ds, arcades, pinball, those cheap video game tie in handhelds)

Mic off vc off she does NOT want to hear you rage (Tango)

Prefers multiplayer games to be team based or pve, like slick she’s here for fun not to flex on noobs.

In Minecraft she’s mostly farming, taming animals and making nice paths / gardens for other peoples houses, isn’t very creative otherwise. Hates the drowned.

Slick:

Loves games with lots of text and/or lore to find. Also would love to positively post about them.

Is a sucker for linear unspoken story based games (ie Abzu, Stray)

Story / Easy mode advocate, he’s here for fun after a stressful day at work.

Hates idle games as a genera, what’s the point??

In Minecraft he’s building his house with lore and story reasons for why it looks that way, everything’s got a reason for being there. Homes have hearths, libraries, workshops, bedrooms, bathrooms and everything. Names his creatures.

Libby:

Will skip through dialog to get back to the action, and subsequently annoys slick alot with questions answered if she’d slowed down and listened.

Likes absurd, unrealistic racing games like asphault, especially gimmicky modes like infected

Picks armour for stats much to the distain of Tango, who cares if you look silly when you negate 90% fire damage!

Big fan of absurd melee weapons in games, ie gigantic hammers, not-weapon objects being used as weapons, half the weapons in monster hunter

In Minecraft is running around fighting mobs and caving, desperately wants to find a saddle so she can go faster. Would place a bed in the nether. Creeper magnet.

Thorn:

Also likes to insult, but unlike Tango is creatively mean about it without cursing or rage

Pokémon fan, ev trains and iv breeds etc, (where’s the whimsy? She’s doesn’t care she’s crushing fools in online) Doesn’t care about having favourite monsters

Good at pvp shooters, will camp and other shitty tactics.

Rts queen, get blindsided by her army of chariots while you’re still in the dark age in aoe2

Has done awful things in the sims.

In Minecraft is enchanting and speeding to the end. Doesn’t give a damn about having a nice house. Will kill you for your loot.

Nathan (prewar):

Adores split screen multiplayer, pizza and beer! <3

Is a sucker for co-op story games or games where you can play the story with co-op. like it baldurs gate 3, portal 2, legend of Spyro: dawn of the dragon etc.

Isn’t great but is having a great time! Especially if gaming online with friends or all at a mates place

Quite enjoys sim type games, when is he ever going to get the chance to drive a real train after all!
