What is your muse's sexuality? Just wondering because I have a gay character thats Bojack's ex boyfriend from when they were teens to young adult. The relationship ended in a nasty break up but he still loves him deeply and deals with the guilt of how he treated Bojack.
RANDOM ASKS ; ALWAYS ACCEPTING!
Given that in the show, he only ever showed interest in women, told Herb explicitly that ‘he isn’t...’ with the context being the display of Herb’s homosexuality, and that he flinched away when Herb threatened to ‘kiss him himself’ to show him what to do with Cindy Crawfish, I play BoJack as explicitly straight. However, he doesn’t have very healthy associations with women because of his mother, and his past instances of sexual abuse when he was a child/with Ana, so he hasn’t had much luck with either women or men.
I also think that though BoJack doesn’t discriminate against anybody in the current day ( he had no problem with Herb being gay, had no problem with Hollyhock’s eight fathers, actively encouraged Todd to come out as asexual and recognised Maude’s asexuality in S6 and encouraged her to get on Todd’s app ), he had some internalised homophobia on behalf of his father’s comments about “queers” and his ideals of gender.
I’d be willing to do a plot with you that explores BoJack’s sexuality when he was young, though. I think it’d be an interesting avenue to explore-- so long as we’re both clear that, in the present day, BoJack is more sure of himself and what he’s interested in!
