Go ahead and cry, little boy.
Tumblr media
Dad Varric with an adoptive inquisitor son because I’m sad and I want him to be my dad. (like how he treats Cole)
————
“Kid, we’ve been looking for you for hours.”
He frowns when he sees the boy curled into himself, he must’ve ran off because he was overwhelmed.
“Kid? What’s wrong?”
“Go away Varric.”
The dwarf sat down next to him and wrapped an arm around the boys shoulders. He hummed some sort of tune Hawke had liked in kirkwall.
“Just because you’re the inquisitor doesn’t mean you don’t need a older figure to come comfort you.”
“You’re not my dad Varric.”
“Who says? I’m just as much your dad as you want me to be.”
The inquisitor smiled and leaned onto him, he always had a different connection to Varric than he had to the rest of them.
“Can you tell me a story about kirkwall?”
“About who specifically? How sexy I was? Or about Hawke? Or about Hawke and Fenris?”
“About Hawke and Fenris.”
“Of course you want to hear about them.”
“There was a time when we went to the bar in lowtown, and Fenris drank more than he should have, in my opinion the poor guy needed it. He was so uptight, anyway he started dancing, in the middle of the room.”
“Please tell me he fell.”
“I wish, I would have laughed but no, he ended up singing some sort of song that Hawke must’ve remembered because they busted into song, in front of the entire bar. Anders looked like he was about to kill them and Isabela pretended not to know them.”
“Do you ever miss that group? More so that time?”
Varric paused, moving his hand to ruffle the others hair, sure he missed the time in Kirkwall, but he loved those people more.
“Of course I do, but you can’t tell Hawke I said that. He’ll never let me live it down.”

Thoughts on DA: Vows & Vengeance -
[info compilation post link] [more info on the podcast]
---
this post is rather unstructured : )
---
I know what BW said about how there won't be official transcripts, but I hope that they decide to post official transcripts of each episode if it's possible, as it's rly important for accessibility & inclusivity.
I like the title - the alliteration is fun, and the concepts of vengeance and revenge are a DA thematic staple atp. it's neat that it's free and the spacing of one episode per week until mid/late October will help pass the time until launch (the last podcast episode releases 2 weeks before DA:TV Release Day). it's also cool to see DA expand into new forms of media, and I'm excited that we will hear lots more lines from each of the 7 Veilguard companions. 👁️
here is one of the podcast writers, Jeremy Novick, on Twitter.
I’m really looking forwards to Taash and Davrin’s episodes of the podcast in particular ◕‿◕ it feels like we don't know much about them or their backstories relative to the other DA:TV companions at this point in time.
Nadia Carcosa, Drayden and Elio are described as being "podcast-exclusive" characters, I guess this means they will not appear in the game itself (which helps the podcast storyline stay self-contained and the podcast to remain as optional listening). but it would be cool if in the game there is some references to them here and there, like in dialogue and/or codex entries/notes etc. 😊
in the background image of the teaser trailer and what looks like the thumbnail for the podcast[?] on podcasting sites, the two faction symbols shown are the Mourn Watch and the Shadow Dragons. is this a coincidence/just since their symbols look cool, or are these two factions the factions with the biggest roles in the podcast storyline relative to the others? the penultimate episodes are the ones that focus on Emmrich and Neve 🤔
"revenge, redemption, and love": these themes mixed together often produce regret. and there was a quote somewhere in DA:TV marketing materials that said “For DA:TV [the game itself], from the start one of the biggest themes has been regret; how regret shaped peoples’ lives, how people deal with their regrets, how people maybe move past their regrets.”
Mae Whitman previous credits include: Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Brigette Lundy-Paine previous credits include: Bill & Ted Face the Music, Atypical, I Saw the TV Glow Armen Taylor previous credits include: Diablo IV, Octopath Traveler II, Vinland Saga
I wonder when the podcast is set? maybe in the weeks to months before Varric, Harding, Neve and Rook go to Solas' ritual site in the game's prologue? I also wonder what lineages Nadia, Drayden and Elio are? If Drayden has a mysterious connection to the Fade, they're most likely to be human or elven, right?
cat burglar, thief, scoring jobs like the one described in the podcast's plotblurbs - these kind of plot beats remind me of what we learned about an earlier concept of DA:TV when the game was more about stuff like heists and spies.
Nadia being a thief unknowingly employed by the Dread Wolf to track down a powerful ancient artifact before finding herself tangled up in everything: this reminds me sm of one of the 'here's what the DA4 PC's backstory could be and how they could end up caught up in the narrative of the game'-speculation ideas I used to wonder about hhh.
a retired cat burglar.. maybe Nadia has ties to the Lords of Fortune? some of them seem to be more thiefy. although, being wanted by Tevinter authorities for crimes of theft, high treason and murder maybe points towards Shadow Dragons instead.
two lovers going on a job to get an artifact reminds me of Irian Cestes and Vadis from TN. "burglar" also gives me Hobbit/LOTR vibes :D I imagine that over the many years since DA:I, the Dread Wolf has employed many such people [unknowingly to them] on jobs like this.
Elio being "seemingly" banished to the Fade is interesting wording.. so is "banished" actually. (Elio's Fade banishment also makes me think of foreshadowing Solas' subsequent entry to Fade Jail in DA:TV.) ((shoutout to left-in-the-Fade-Hawkes' LIs who I can also imagine desperately searching for answers on a rescue mission across all of Thedas after learning that Hawke was left in the Fade in DA:I...))
Carcosa
I'm reaaally curious about what Drayden's mysterious connection to the Fade is all about and entails.
"a few [answers] they wish they hadn’t" 👁️...
the question is, what the powerful ancient artifact is, and why does Solas want it? if he wants it it's probably ancient elven, right?
On the trailer itself
"This chamber, it feels different from the cave. I can sense something. The Veil is thin here." - I'd guess this speaker is Drayden. it isn't Nadia, as we hear her later on. the speaker can sense the thin/thickness of the Veil and Drayden is said to have a mysterious connection to the Fade. at this point they're in some kind of, well, chamber, as the speaker's voice echoes and you can hear water dripping down the damp walls.
The announcer's voice is so deep hh!
To be wanted by Tevinter authorities for crimes including high treason, maybe Nadia is from Tevinter? treason is "the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill or overthrow the sovereign or government." so to commit treason in Tevinter context, you're probably from Tevinter.
"Who the hell is Nadia Carcosa?" - this sounds like Varric. :>
"So, what's the mark?" - I'd guess this speaker is Nadia. they sound scrappy/seasoned (Nadia is nearly retired), and the speaker is probably asking for more details on the job they've just acquired to do. does she sound like she could be a dwarf to anyone else or is this just me? :D maybe that's just my daydreams hhh
"The Eye of Kethisca" quote: presumably the middle man who Solas hired to hire someone, thereby keeping his own identity secret
The Eye of Kethisca itself: this must be the "powerful ancient artifact" from the text blurbs. there are no hits for "Kethisca" on the DA Wiki, so this is a new name/thing. it must be creepy-deepy, because when it's mentioned in the trailer you can hear creepy voices whispering ominously. :D "Kethisca" doesn't sound elven, but you could easily have an artifact that's e.g. ancient elven but acquired another name or been called something else by others in the centuries since.
"The Eye was made from a rare gem mined here in the caves beneath us. It was crafted centuries ago by a powerful Dreamer." - Solas speaking. I wonder how oblique/lies of omission/technically true (you know what I mean? that thing he does) Solas is being here.. like maybe the Dreamer was an ancient elvhen Dreamer not a human Tevinter one, like maybe the centuries ago were centuries and centuries and centuries ago dating back to Elvhenan rather than later on temporally at say, a more recent time in history like the height of the Imperium. "Eye" makes me think of spherical things, "gem" makes me think of how lyrium (Titans' blood) is a mineral. caves makes me think of dwarfy things and the Deep Roads. as for "mined":
"The runes say the Evanuris fought the Titans. They mined their bodies for lyrium and... something else. It's not clear."
what if the Eye is the heart of a Titan, a foci? Solas' Orb was spherical and the hearts of Titans look spherical here in the Death of a Titan mural. the way he frames it makes it sound like the mark is a rare jewel mined from caves by a Tevinter human dreamer long ago before being crafted into something, but I wonder if it was, more technically, the heart of a Titan mined from the body of a Titan even longer ago by, say, a member of the Evanuris, before being crafted into a foci. Solas needed his own foci in DA:I to carry out his plans, and then it was broken. there was more than one foci in ancient Elvhenan; after DA:I and Trespasser, I could see a world/storyline in which, during the long years between then and DA:TV, Solas at some point learns that another one of the foci artifacts survived into the modern day, and decided to try and get his hands on it so that he can carry out his plan using another foci instead. and since the foci can do Fadey/Veily stuff, that could be how Elio got yeeted in there. reminds me a bit of the scene when the Inquisitor yeets Cory at the end of DA:I. (here I'm just speculating wildly for fun hhh. Solas' Orb doesn't really look like a gem etc. and the Lyrium Knife tears the Veil, so maybe this storyline was set before he got that or sth)
also I wonder where these caves are? beneath Minrathous? Solas has a hideout beneath Minrathous, as we know, and the deeper you go the more elfy things get.
Magister Andante: I think this is our first time hearing about this character. their name reminds me of Andraste.
"Magister Andante? It's about Nadia. She's about to do something quite reckless." - this sounds to me like Neve speaking. it kind of sounds like she's meeting the magister clandestinely, at night. she seems to know Nadia.
"Listen to me, you've been tricked. This isn't a simple grab-and-go for the money. There are bigger forces at play. We have to put this back and leave." - I'd guess this speaker is Elio. it sounds like at this point he and Nadia have found the Eye and taken it, but he's trying to get her to see reason/warn her. it's a tense moment with the sound of battle all around them.
"I'm sorry, but I won't let you pay for my mistakes." - Nadia refusing to listen to Elio. the sounds of battle get louder and it sounds like there's an explosion or something? plus the dragon roar. maybe Mr dragon is breathing fire everywhere. :D I wonder as well if it's Elio grunting in pain at this point. I'd guess this is the moment where Elio is seemingly yeeted into the Fade perhaps?
"Nadia, I presume. I am Solas, and I am, I believe, the one that you seek." - Solas again obviously, only this time sounding way more godly and Fen'Harelly in persona (booming) than he did when he was talking more demurely/plainly about what the Eye is.
"The name I seek is the Dread Wolf" - Nadia again obviously :) so something in the job went wrong, she figures out who hired them, and goes to find the Dread Wolf presumably because she either blames him for Elio being stuck in the Fade and/or she thinks he might be able to get him out or tell her how.
"The Eye will destroy you" - and this sounds like Neve again maybe?

Where is your favorite Dragon Age place? Do you have a favorite romance?
Mine would have to be Skyhold just because all our friends are there and it's home. My spouse and I have played all the romances in Inquisition and I love them all sooooo very much that I couldn't choose a favorite and I just wish you could romance every last one of them at the same time.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
omg ALL THE ROMANCES???? im SO jealous i wish i had the time!!!
i absolutely agree with you with skyhold though, its both iconic and beautiful - plus everyone you want to talk to is there! (and you get to jump all the way from leliana's tower to solas' room without dying which is hilarious LMAO)
i am currently only on one playthrough of DA:2 and DA:I but plan to do many more soon when i can give them proper dedication. so the only 2 romances i've experienced are fenris x male!hawke and cullen x lavellen. my favourite out of the 2 is fenhawke, the GRIP it has on my brain is insane and scary and i think about them All The Time.
in my next run i plan to romance isabela then sera. my inquisition playthrough was literally a coin toss between cullen and sera i adore the two of them sm and cannot WAIT to romance her!!
(for veilguard i plan on romancing lucanis in my first world state, then taash for the new run ehhehehehe)
but i agree. bioware lemme romance everyone.

“What about you? How do you center yourself?”
“I tell myself, ‘It's them or you. And if it's you, be damn sure to take the bastards with you.’“
“Well, that's...”

I know I never really talked about it over here but I’ve been playing a lot of Dragon Age: Inquisition lately, and since I don’t have a lot of content to offer, might as well show off my Inquisitor! Her name is Daisy original ik ik and she’s a dalish elf artificer ranger! Her love interest is Bull and I’ll throw a few headcanons under the cut because I don’t want to throw spoilers at yall’s faces :3c I also have two other inquisitors, but Daisy is my main one; -Adanni, who’s another dalish elf, but she’s a knight-enchanter! She’s dating Cullen :3c -And Madelaine, who’s a human tempest dagger build, she’s my current playthrough and she’s romancing Blackwall :3c
Tumblr media
/DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!\
A few Daisy headcanons; -She decided to disband the Inquisition because she couldn’t care less about human politics and prefered doing things her way instead of siding with either side. -She never married Bull and instead started to work with/for him as another Charger. -She WILL however have kids with him, and I’m thinking probably twins. -Since she’s an artificer, she knows a bunch of talented blacksmiths that works with magic and got herself a personalized prostetic that fits her aesthetic. -She loves steampunk stuff and her outfit is based around that. -She DOES have a Vallaslin, but it’s so faint it’s almost invisible to the naked eye. -The reason for that is because it kinda dissipated after she first got it, so her Keeper tattoed her a second time but it did the same thing.  -The Keeper believed it was a sign the Gods judged her immature and would never be able to provide her part to the clan. -And because of that, she was sent to “spy on human affairs’ (the reason why the main character is present at the Conclave) but it was actually a suicide mission that the Keeper hoped she wouldn’t survive. -Oopsie Daisy, turns out she DID survive the encounter. -Her tattoo is the simplest version of the Mythal tattoo. -She drank from the Well of Sorrows cuz she would be damned before letting a human she doesn’t trust drink from it. -Her vision is a teeny tiny bit worse on her right side than her left side.

Whenever I talk with Fiona in Skyhold she is like ‘Hahah thanks for not imprisoning us and treat my mages like human beings... We feel safe with the Inquisition... For now.” and I am like... Lady I would give you everything if I had a chance. I support you, I support your cause and nobody will harm you or my fellow mages as long as I am alive.

dragon age positivity meme | accepting
i’m going to be answering these in one post for the sake of simplicity and cutting down ooc posts!
✾ your favourite da:o main quest | sent by @cuervocanto
my actual favourite quest is paragon of her kind, but i talked about why i love that one here. and yes, i don’t even rly mind the deep roads.
my second favourite is probably the landsmeet, especially taking into account that it has some sub-main quests that are grouped together under the umbrella of preparing for the landsmeet. such as resucing anora, breaking out of fort drakon, and solving the unrest in the alienage. i find returning to the alienage as tabris second to aeducan returning to orzammar, but it’s still very interesting coming back to a place where you grew up with no power, suddenly having power. and regardless of origin the worldbuilding is good, immediately the fact that you’re barred from the alienage upon initially entering denerim tells you a lot about the state of elves in ferelden. the choice at the end isn’t particularly difficult, “slavery is bad” isn’t a controversial opinion even in ferelden and so even the warden i created with the intention of being That Kind of Human couldn’t choose that option, BUT it does make for an emotional choice when playing tabris
as for rescuing anora and breaking out of drakon, i just love the humour in the quest. i never have my warden break out themselves just so i can have the companions bullshit their way in. my personal favourite combination is zevran and oghren, although i do enjoy morrigan-leliana and sten-dog, as well. i think my fave thing about oghren and zev tho is that iirc they’re one of the most successful combinations.
as for the landsmeet itself, it’s not particularly challenging, but i enjoy the variety of options you get and how it changes the game going forward. like, in every game anora is queen for me in some capacity, but beyond that i’ve had a bitter king alistair working with a warden who recruited loghain, loghain and the warden alone, etc. i enjoy the politicking and making an alliance with anora. it’s enjoyable even on replays.
❄ your favourite da:i personal quest | sent by @pentaghasted
my actual favourite personal quest is cole’s, which i talked about here. instead i’ll talk about iron bull’s b/c i’m glad they committed to what they started in trespasser and i also appreciate how the choice is set up. most of us save the chargers b/c the lot of them stole our hearts in the two scenes they were in, but unlike some other choices in the series choosing the sadder/arguably worse option doesn’t require you to be roleplaying as an evil bastard to choose it.
so like, most games i save the chargers, but my playthrough where i’m playing a practical trevelyan-- she goes with the qunari dreadnought. the chargers were assets, but a qunari alliance could have been more beneficial in the long term. heck, even my inquisitor who saves the chargers feels a lot of guilt about it-- because even if she didn’t know the people on the dreadnought, there were a whole lot of them, and her decision got them killed. she needed to show she cared for her own people first, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t matter.
which contrasts this personal quest for something like... say, fenris’s third one, which don’t get me wrong, is very emotional. but i cannot fathom why a hawke how kept fenris around for all that time and clearly spent time talking to him would just say “yeah you can take him” its just kinda over-the-top cruel. so i am glad when i can roleplay the alternate decisions i ordinarily wouldn’t make.
and i love seeing the quest’s differing effect on bull. he adjusts either way, but one puts him on a path where he’s going to be facing you, one way or another. and he pays the price for that.
♦ your favourite piece of lore | sent by @felandaristhorns & @sephirajo
i’ve answered this before the last time i reblogged this meme and answered the dalish mage lore from da:i and rivain just. as a whole. i’m going with the lore regarding elvhenan, though, b/c i think the games do a good job of subverting what we were told in da:o and da2 while also explaining how those misconceptions happened. i love going back to the previous games and seeing new angles to the lore and the places where they were building up to it. i love seeing the foreshadowing within inquisition itself.
and i just love how elvhenan is characterised, as a hyper-magic society where reality and dreams aren’t necessarily different things. and where feelings are just as physical as every other aspect of a person. it explains so much about the fade, spirits, solas, it makes even comments like merrill’s-- someone with a pretty nuanced view of spirits-- kind of sad. she calls the fade “another people’s land” not knowing that it was her land, and her people.
while i’m on that spirits in general make me sad. how perception screws with them, and how i think that just further isolates mages. for once i don’t think this is a plot by the chantry, i don’t think they’re lying about how they think spirits are, they’re just wrong to characterise them as they do. but at the same time i don’t think they’d disapprove of the effect is has on mages. it’s cutting them off from potential friendships, and not only that but friendships the templars would have 0 way of regulating given they could potential happen in dreams.
but i’m off-topic. the point is i find the worldbuilding surrounding elvhenan, to be some of bioware’s best. it makes sense, it’s nuanced and varied and doesn’t make elvhen characters wear one single hat. clearly it was a heavily flawed place, but it had a lot of merits and you can see why solas misses it or why cole, upon learning that the veil was never meant to be, feels validated by the idea that he was never wrong to want to be a part of both worlds.
♬ your favourite part of the da:i soundtrack | sent by @daggersandpoison
da:i has the best soundtrack in the series and i don’t think this is a controversial opinion. i do love inon sur’s work, and i was a little worried when i heard morris was composing inquisition b/c i found me3′s soundtrack to be overall a step down from me2′s (it lost a lot of what made the mass effect series unique). BUT with inquisition he managed to keep dragon age’s unique sound while also improving upon it. the inquisition theme gives me chills when i start up the game and even while i’m walking around in the field and a few chords play while i’m picking up my 100th elfroot.
but it’s always hard to choose my favourite. it’s honestly a tie between journey to skyhold and the dark solas theme. both of these give me specific solas feelings, the former b/c you have solas entrusting a lot of hope and faith in the inquisitor (it’s esp poignant if by that point you have a burgeoning friendship with him). and b/c it comes off one of the strongest moments in the dragon age series, aka the battle of haven and encounter w/ corypheus. also i love the dawn will come, fite me. and from my inquisitor’s perspective, esp my main inquisitor, thora, this is probably the first time she’s felt like she was worth all this herald talk. even if she doesn’t believe it, the song beginning with a soft, unsure sound and rising to a triumphant end when skyhold is unveiled encapsulates what i love about the inquisitor’s story and my inquisitor’s personal feelings.
dark solas theme i love b/c it conveys so much of the sadness and loneliness of his character. i would talk more about it b/c it makes me so sad i literally can’t listen to it unless i’m writing post-trespasser solas and even then it’s risky. it’s just a good track ok. and it caps off my favourite dlc.
ღ your favourite da:i banter | sent by @renaudtrevelyan
i talked about some banter i love here between bull and solas. i have to admit i have a hard time choosing my favourite in da:i b/c i just love so much of the banter in this game. i always tell myself not to choose solas banter, and i’m going to... choose one solas and one non-solas.
Solas: I do not understand you, Sera. You have no end goal for your organization. Sera: Nobles get rattled, and people get payback. I play in the middle. Solas: Why not go all the way? You see injustice, and you have organized a group to fight it. Don't you want to replace it with something better? Sera: What, just lop off the top? What's that do, except make a new top to frig it all up? Solas: I...forgive me. You are right. You are fine as you are. Sera: You hurt my head sometimes, Solas. Solas: Yes, I have been known to do that.
this banter is great to me (and all the banter leading up to it) b/c it informs so much about both of their characters. solas is trying to help sera, in this string of banter. he’s trying to give advice so that the red jennies could potentially become an organisation that does more than makes little people’s lives better with pranks or the occasional knife in someone’s back. it’s a conversation between two characters who are, in different ways, absolutely sick of the system and have different ways of dealing with it.
solas wants change. sweeping, societal change. sera isn’t sure change will help any, and would prefer the relative stability of a pre-breach world where she knows which way’s up. neither is wrong to deal with it the ways they are, and solas just has to look at the top he lopped off to see that, yes, they grow back just as bad. idk i just love solas and sera a lot and i love seeing what they have in common and how they handle their frustrations differently.
Sera: I don't get it. If you want to change, just change. Why this "fake Warden" rubbish? Blackwall: For one, people wanted me dead. Being someone else kept me breathing. Blackwall: And then, knowing that people thought I was good made it easier. Sera: (Laughs.) You needed them to think you could, so you could think you could! Sera: You're smart, but you're sort of stupid.
i’m picking another sera banter b/c i love her. i love sera b/c she’s smarter than ppl give her credit for, she cuts through why rainier did what he did the same way cole does. their relationship on the whole is very sweet and it was hard choosing one banter. but i appreciate her ability to both love and support thom while also calling him out on his bullshit. the two of them are good for each other and im so glad they’re friends. my only regret is i’ve never seen thom as sera’s best man in wedding art. or sera as blackwall’s for that matter. their friendship needs more love-- actually, sera just needs more love period.
☄ your favourite da:i codex entry | sent by @chantrysworn
i love this codex entry, describing wisdom (solas’s spirit friend):
When the summoning ritual was complete, the spirit appeared. Both spirits and demons have no gender as we understand it, but this one, much like the rare and dangerous desire demon, presented as female. Although its form was not threatening, the spirit carried itself with a confidence, an awareness, I suppose, that I have seen only in the most powerful of demons.
This spirit of wisdom was polite and courteous. It answered our questions about the Fade, even acknowledging the difficulty when we could not understand what it meant. There was none of the bargaining one normally associates with a summoned creature, save that the spirit sometimes asked us questions as well. Heras shared a mathematical formula he had recently proven, while Etrenne explained her study on magical themes in the Chant of Light, and young Rhys talked a little about his mother.
When we were finished, the spirit thanked us for the conversation and then vanished, although none of us had dismissed it. We soon discovered that the summoning ritual we had devised was critically flawed. The spirit had been under no compulsion to come or remain. All the time it had talked with us, it had stayed of its own volition. Heras was greatly concerned that such a powerful spirit remained free, and has updated the ritual to correct for the weakness in the binding enchantment. I understand his caution, but I also confess that I quite enjoyed the conversation. I am not certain the spirit would have talked so freely had it been shackled at the time.
—An excerpt from Spirits of the Spire by Senior Enchanter Francois
you can see so much of why they were friends in this codex. the politeness, answering and asking questions, no bargaining just a nice conversation where both parties learn things. and then you find out it never had to show up in the first place, it just wanted to-- and likely would not have been as accommodating had it not been free.
it’s great for informing us on a character we tragically don’t know all that well. and also? it’s incredibly sad when you think about what happens to it, it almost makes you wonder if the mages who ultimately bound and killed it would have had better luck simply asking for its protection. solas says something along those lines, but he also says it prefers remaining in the fade (interesting in itself, given that the chantry pushes the agenda that all spirits want beyond it. contradicted by multiple spirits we’ve met tbh, including cole, who actually quite likes the fade).
this codex is also interesting b/c it tells you some about what mages study and do with their time. and it goes back to what i mentioned previously, w/ chantry attitudes depriving spirits and mages of one another’s company.
anyway i love wisdom and it deserved better.

favorite  muse  you’ve  written  :  OOF.  it’s  gotta  be  elena.  i  started  writing  her  for  an  rp  like  ,,  a  year  ago  and  since  then  i  haven’t  been  able  to  get  that  bratty  bard  out  of  my  head.  she’s  just  so  fun  and  i  love  exploring  more  emotional  situations  with  a  muse  who  is  honestly  terrified  to  reveal  herself  in  that  kind  of  way.  she’s  also  so  flexible  when  it  comes  to  verses  ,  like  everyone  needs  a  fame  and  money  hungry  muse  ...  right?  plus  ,  she’s  in  a  girl  band  in  her  modern  verse  and  that’s  fucking  cool.
what  inspired  you  to  take  on  your  current  muse(s)  :  i  ,  uh  ,  treated  myself  to  a  ps4  and  started  playing  da:i  on  there  instead  of  my  shitty  family  computer  and  it  reignited  my  deep  love  for  dragon  age?  but!  in  terms  of  rping  inspiration  ,  i  love  expanding  on  the  canon  information  provided  and  playing  around  with  the  setting  given  to  us.
what  are  your  favorite  aspects  of  your  current  muse(s)  :  i  love  my  girls  sm  :’)
but  specifically  ,  brigid’s  humor  in  difficult  situations  —  even  if  it  might  be  a  coping  mechanism  shhhhhhh  a  lot  of  the  time  she  is  laughing  through  shitty  situations  because  if  she  doesn’t  laugh  ,  she’ll  break  down.  and  that  extends  to  how  she  treats  others  during  those  same  kind  of  instances  ,  she  makes  it  her  job  to  keep  spirits  up.  she  knows  all  too  well  that  slipping  into  despair  and  anger  never  does  any  good  ,  what  with  her  spending  the  majority  of  DAO  coping  with  that.
kit  has  a  certain  brand  of  bravery  that  i  will  never  be  able  to  emulate  personally  and  i  love  that.  she  doesn’t  give  a  flying  fuck  about  anyone  else’s  opinion.  she  spent  her  entire  life  being  looked  down  on  and  ridiculed  all  to  be  raised  up  to  hero  status.  and  how  quickly  opinions  of  her  change  !!  and  she  doesn’t  fall  for  it  because  to  her  ,  their  opinions  don’t  matter.
and  while  her  cousin  acts  like  she’s  above  it  all  (  as  a  way  to  protect  herself  really  )  ,  shianni  never  hesitates  to  build  things  from  the  ground  up.  her  passion  is  what  fuels  her  and  she’ll  never  let  anyone  take  that  away  from  her.  in  the  alienage  quest  ,  the  other  elves  want  shianni  to  keep  her  head  down  and  go  about  her  life  ,  but  shianni  stands  by  what  she  believes  in.
ok  ...  estrid’s  is  gonna  be  weird  but  i  just  know  this  bitch  doesn’t  procrastinate.  like  with  her  DAI  run  through  she  grinds  and  gets  better  all  so  she  can  throw  herself  into  the  next  Big  Bad.  she’s  such  a  hard  worker  and  won’t  rest  until  the  job’s  done.
elena  elena  elena  ...  i’ve  already  kinda  gushed  about  her  but  i   love  this  annoying  little  bard  so  freaking  much.  she’s  trouble  and  that’s  why  i  love  her.  she  doesn’t  pretend  to  be  honorable  ...  because  she  isn’t.  while  the  world  burns  she  will  still  try  to  find  a  way  to  make  some  coin  and  that  is  Valid.
what’s  your  biggest  inspiration  when  it  comes  to  writing  :  edits  weirdly  enough??  i’ll  scroll  through  the  da  tag  plus  all  the  beautiful  posts  i  see  on  my  dash.  that  and  actually  playing  da  because  i  always  have  more  questions  after  playing  and  things  i  want  to  explore.
favorite  types  of  threads  :  i’m  a  horrible  mun  and  i  love  some  angsty  threads  >:)
biggest  struggle  in  regards  to  your  current  muse(s)  :  my  biggest  struggle  right  now  is  just  my  muse  in  general  tbh  school  can  be  a  real  muse  killer  for  me.

Okay so I started the DA series and played through DA:O, gave up on DA:2 (because why was it so hard? why did it get so hard? idek but whatever) and started on DA:I
AND HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOD
I LOVE THIS GAME, THIS FANDOM, DA:I IS SO BEAUTIFUL (and finally balanced too, the abilities in DA:O either sucked or were super OP)
I AM SO HAPPY I STUMBLED ACROSS THIS GAME
IT MAKES ME WISH I COULD DRAW I LOVE IT SM
YALL ARE GREAT, REAlLY :)

♥ : Weird ship I have for my muse. / ♜ : My muse’s best friend.
TO THE MEME | accepting
♥ : Weird ship I have for my muse.
i MEAN, define weird. after so many years of rping (& reading/writing fanfiction and collabs) i am not sure my understanding of weird is the average one. i prefer the term unusual, i think, but i am sure i ship a few things a lot of people would call weird (but each their own, i say). first that comes to mind for this muse is hawke/arishok. it’s just delightful. i love thinking about all the ways it could (and could NOT) happen, how they’d be around each other, how they could catch feelings (but not the butterflies-in-my-stomach kind, more the i want you so much i can’t stop thinking about you even though it’s all kinds of inconvenient & stupid or the you have become so important to me i need to be the one to kill you kind. ya feel?) that tear their hearts & minds apart, but never even so much as touch hands (except when they try to kill each other maybe). or AUs in which the arishok wins and takes over kirkwall & who knows what happens to hawke and the others then? what if the qunari had accepted taking hawke instead of isabela after they returned the relic? yes, this is a ship with plenty of sm/utty potential but i won’t go into detail with that bc you already got more than you bargained for i am sure haha. just. sigh. i have a thing for the unpopular/unconventional ships.
♜ : My muse’s best friend.
varric, hands down. i don’t even have to think about that. when i played da:i (i kinda play the games in the wrong order) i didn’t know anything about hawke but the way varric spoke about him already made me fall in love with their friendship and after playing da:2 i was completely sold. varric’s love and loyalty for hawke make me cry; he is honestly the best friend anyone could ask for. i love that in-game quote from hawke in da:2 where he’s all ‘what would i do without my fav dwarf, i’d cry myself to sleep’, which was funny on a surface level but honestly where is the lie? he probably WOULD cry himself to sleep sometimes if he didn’t have friends like varric who make all the shit that happens, all the times he fucks up while trying to help, so much easier to bear.i also absolutely LOVE, in the scene in da:i where cassandra goes berserk on varric’s ass for hiding hawke, when he says something like “if hawke had been at the conclave, he’d be dead too. you people have done enough to him” like!! he is so protective and loyal and wonderful!!! HNNG. i just love them. best friendship award.

more ships: cull/inquisitor, seb anders, dori bull, josie/inquisitor, fen bela, leli/warden and zev/warden (i kno the last i just wanna hear someone talk sweet abt zevran hes my love)
OH NICE THANK U DUDE
c*llen/quizzie: lmao oh my god....... i really like it but it’s rarely done right yknow?? i feel like most c*llen/inquisitor content is done w a kinda boring inquisitor ft. a very out of character, almost abusive c*llen that somehow has no flaws anymore and i’m really fed up lmao... i feel like the issue w this ship is kinda what bugs me abt da:i in general, there’s SO much potential to write some interesting stuff w c*llen because how awful he acted i da2 but it falls flat, in the game itself and in fanfic lmao so i kinda just headcanon the more interesting stuff :^)
seb/*nders: hooooonestly this is the first time i’ve ever heard of it but idk they didn’t seem to get along so im not rlly into it lmao
adorib*ll: jhsdksd im a lil torn on it bc some of the dialogue between them is kinda creepy (yknow bull saying stuff dorian is uncomfy with) but i also like the idea of it yknow...... i mean the qunari/magister thing is sweet but i also get why ppl are uncomfy w it because the dialogue is bad :cccc
josie/quizzie: v sweet n lovely, i’m not very invested in it but i enjoy josie’s romance a lot!!!! i just felt like it got a lil neglected by the devs (not because of the lacking sex scene im kinda glad there’s none, i just feel like there’s so little to it compared to some other romaces???????)
f*nbela: eh not into it...... i love fen/h*wke/bela A LOT but just the 2 is not my thing
leli/w*rden: v cute!!!! its so nice n i LOVE that “person who got fucked up learned to love again” trope so much!!! why don’t i have a warden for her yet wtf!
zev/w*rden: YELLS i love it sm its actually one of my fav da romances its just!!! so good!!!!! tbhh i thought zev was kinda boring and annoying (sorry..) before i did his romance but it just adds so much depth to him (friendship too but romance is going REALLY deep lmao) !!!! plus im always a slut for the “””ladykiller in love”””” trope thanks mediocre casanova movie..
