The suggestion was maybe once a week I start an (optional) small donation chain for a gfm on the blog that I run with almost 5x as many followers as my main. It would be almost as unobtrusive as you can get probably posting it in the middle of the week. Do you even hear yourself. Nobody is forcing you to give money but people are experiencing things worse than we could possibly imagine and I'm not even threatening to pause the queue you'll still give 5 sanjis a day but once a week you'll have to deal with me reblogging a donation post.

Heyyy about your foot and calf pain I was a certified seller of podiatry treatments at a shoe store I took many courses. I recommend rolling your feet over a frozen water bottle one at a time about 10 mins or less if it's too cold. Getting fitted for arch supports. Compression socks for stabilizing ligaments and bones. And high foam shoes to reduce the shock impact you get as you walk. If it persists maybe speak to someone about plantar fasciitis that's usually the culprit

noting this down buttttttt also the pain isn't constant it comes in flashes so i dont know if that has any impact? its not even all that frequent maybe once every few months that i get it and normally when i'm laying down getting ready for sleep t-t

hi doccy. hopefully your askbox is working. i would LOVE to read the edas but. what order do i tackle them in. i've been intimidated by them for over a year send help.

uh oh….. i am also intimidated by them 😭 and my reading strategy isn’t anything special, i am always struggling to find time or energy to read - BUT here’s my best advice:

go through the summaries of the first 10-15 books and sort them by the ones that sound interesting, and the ones you might get stuck on. for the interesting ones, try reading them in physical or digital form; for the ones you kinda wanna skip ……. well. i figured out that the internet archive has a built-in screenreader (with a very robotic voice), and that i could stomach the voice for long periods, so i just listened to them like audiobooks while at work or walking around.

not everyone will be able to tolerate the voice.

i must emphasize that. i can imagine it being very annoying to listen to an entire book that’s been fed through an electric box fan, especially if you have auditory processing delays, but that was my strategy for getting through some of the slowest and least crucial plot lines (imo: the eight doctors, war/legacy of the daleks, longest day, kursaal). to conserve your reading momentum, you can skip these books entirely, or come back to them later.

the ones you’re drawn to - try looking for copies online, either physical (abebooks, thriftbooks, and better world books are ones i check, but you may only find the rarer ones on abebooks, ebay, and mercari) or digital (there are pdfs on the internet archive, and i think i might have some books saved as google drive files? get back to me on that, they might be in the main dw file…. hmm.)

i’m a habitual collector so i’ve been amassing my doctor who bookshelf for a few years, but certain books are touch and go, you never know when another copy will show up. i have ebay alerts on for so vile a sin 🫣 i prefer physical books to keep my attention span and to keep notes - i fill them with color-coded sticky notes for future reference because i’m totally meshuga.

sometimes but i also will go out of my way to write fics using my weird niche knowledge of things i had to learn for work. my one rarepair week fic i wrote with the lighthouse keeper double face happenings was probably the most egregious example of this LOL but it wasn't out of the way research for it just stuff i already knew

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

I'm so happy I was able to finish Lis' birthday fic mostly on time (it would have been on time if I hadn't lost internet for 2 weeks t-t) and it was checked by multiple people for quality before posting and augh... it was really nice to do a character study for a character I don't write for all that often. I want to do more of them in the future !

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

I like its uniqueness I guess? It stands out from other fanfic writers in a lot of ways since I have been moving towards a more nontraditional dialogue style that I just much prefer to write in tbh. Being able to write the dialogue in line with regular prose is so much fun and makes way more sense to my brain love and light

yeaaaa. If you really wanted to, you could also tag someone- but in any case, it‘s always very visible and direct interactions. Insta just isnt really laid out for interacting, but consuming. Stuff like tiktok at least has duets, but that still has you add stuff to it.
