i see u like vrisjade .. would you be willing to explain what u think their dynamic would be . i want to like it but ive never been able to wrap my head around what they would be like
theyre not my otp i just draw them for clout
my understanding is that the appeal lies in a bit of wishful thinking. "what if vriska learned to be nicer?" and "what if jade went a little apeshit?" i do think they would work well as kismeses (or, more likely, one-sided blackrom crushes because jade has other things going on and can't be bothered to spend her whole life obsessing over the girl who gave her narcolepsy as a kid), but pretty much all the stuff you'll find for them is redrom vriska rehabilitation fluff (which is CUTE and WHOLESOME and FUN, and i ENJOY DRAWING IT, but . . . i like it when vriska is kinda balls to the wall insane instead of all niceys).
SO! that being said, i do think their dynamic would be really interesting even in a non-shipping context because they DO definitely need to clear the air re: the whole narcolepsy and viciously insulting your teen grandpa within 5 minutes of officially meeting him thing. i stand by what i said in this post about their dynamic, noting furthermore that vriska does mention and talk about jade a lot in the comic despite never having a canonical conversation with her (it's implied; she is in jade's trollslum on pesterchum after all), so . . . vriska definitely thinks about jade more than jade thinks about vriska, and probably projects a whole lot onto jade as a sort of kanaya-aradia amalgamation proxy. she totally fumbled those two, but SURELY she can stick the landing on this smart and silly genius who CLEARLY needs a good blackrom bucketing to loosen up. right???????? human romance isn't that complicated and it's not like her dating pool is super wide what with the rest of the humans either locked in monogamous relationships (with trolls, narrowing vriska's competition further) or being "in families" with jade.
it would be really funny for them to end up in a quasi-auspisticeship (likely candidates for the third wheel being karkat, john, and regrettably kanaya im so sorry bbg) or for vriska to have an aneurysm upon finding out about human polyamory and the simple fact that jade has more positive and developed dynamics with Many other characters before she even thinks of vriska.
tl;dr i'm the wrong person to ask if you want to be sold on vrisjade i just think they're neat individually and dont mind drawing them together
#vriska serket#mod 8#daily vriska serket#vriska#daily vriska#homestuck#jade harley#jade#vrisjade#jadevris#vriska x jade#jade x vriska#pretty much all of my stances on vrika femslash is 'i think it's funny when she copes and seethes over generally not being very likeable'#esp with the final gang her options are like. her ex. girl she never talked to. girl who has voiced actual dislike for her.#girl she never talked to who ALSO has reasons to actively dislike her. terezy (terezy)#this character isnt even a girl youre just fanoning your way to femslash AND theyve never talked/have beef/are exes#like. vrika likes women but most women she knows have fair & valid reasons not to like her back. shipping is fun and i like to do it but lb#shes single. or cosmically entwined with terepy in a tragic(?) doomed(?) relationship thats epic like the aenead#(no not the iliad or odyssey i know what im doing here and if youre familiar w the aenead u know what im talking about)#either way any reasonable bystander with better alternatives would not touch that with a ten foot pole

missing numbers was secretly a ploy to get really really into doing worldbuilding based on this extremely specific in-universe pseudo-meta horror based in the pokemon franchise. a lot of stuff we're cooking past gens 1+2 is original content based in the spirit of the classic trainerpastas based on those games... something something its all about the natural next step and the world of Pokemon is so fundamentally fucked. idkkkk smiles
#the adaptation-based characters are like the gateway drug#into our (the mod teams) obsession with digital existential cosmic horror themes and the narrative of loss of identity... etc etc#we're talking behind the scenes abt future stuff again and i just felt like rambling a bit#bc its like ummmm oopsies. yeah the original content :x#mn diary#at any rate id consider mn a creepypasta based *pokemon* au than a creepypasta au but its all horror at the end of the day#i just hope our followers enjoy the stuff that isnt just the popular blorbos...#not that i really care that much. in the end mn is a personal story we're doing for ourselves more than anyone and that means-#doing and including whatever we see fit.#its just been nice n really encouraging to have a small but active audience regardless#and i always appreciate that yall have been on board with all the crazier stuff we've dropped so far ^-^â#um. here's to the future of missing numbers! yayyy#god one more funny if i gave a shit about fandom popularity i would NOT be doing a full as adaptation and retelling-#of FUCKING ABANDON LONLINESS of all things brother ive seen NOBODY post about that lmao#was anyone else REALLY into that one as a kid or was that just me

what is your fav art piece your done?
Oh, that's a hard question haha I don't think I have specific favourite piece in general, but I do have favourite pieces for every fandom and OC artwork.
This is one (There's Something About Mr. Masters) is probably my favourite Danny Phantom artwork. It's the lockscreen image on my PC and everything lol
This one (Drakaerys; Cosmic Entity of Power, nevermind tumblr killed the quality a little bit haha) is probably my favourite OC piece (though it will likely be replaced by Pidge: Cosmic Entity of Thought once I actually get It done because Pidge is just my favourite Cosmic Entity lol)
And this one (Introducing Millie, which has never actually been posted because there's a fic that goes with it) is my current favourite for The Walking Dead, though I'm working on some other pieces currently that may dethrone it lol
#I can't post my fave image for every fandom because that's too many fandoms and tumblr can't upload that many images in one post#the walking dead#danny phantom#Original Character#coockie8 original character#Drakaerys the Cosmic Entity of Power#Merle Dixon#Merle ''Millie'' Dixon#Rick Grimes#Vlad Masters#Vlad Plasmius#I'm not tagging this with ''drag'' or ''crossdressing'' because Merle isn't crossdressing#He's genderfluid and actively identifying as a woman in ''Introducing Millie'' so it's not drag

Been obsessing over this fic idea about the role of mistresses, gender, magic, and menkhu in Gokrhon through Oyun's memories, isidor's perspective over the years, Gorkhon history, myth, and zoology anecdotes
anyway the very specific hell of being childhood best friends and developing feelings for the most important person your age when your the second most important person your age in your village so all the girls your age style and hang out with your crush as their posse and tease and flirt with you constantly and you are a teenager and you are shy and introverted and can't tell when you're being teased.
#pathologic#pathologic 2#boyen oyun#oyun#pre transition trans character#in the fic Isidor goes from being nonbinary to genderfluid to a trans man#its also a bit of a parody of omegaverse#with the mistresses being more akin to like queen bees#and there being some horror in realizing how like scientific and sterile it all is#mistresses and magic happening as like a step in some cosmic horror's long and complicated reproductive cycle#not that the mistresses are horrors but that they're just one small part in a huge system they have no control over that exists#that exists only for animalistic reasons#and some weird stuff about boddho being like a net positive for gorkhon and the kin#but still being this sort of unshakable authority figure making choices on their behalf#being romanticized as a mother but in other ways being more like a farmer or like a cosmic FDA#keeping out entities that would just be actively detrimental to the gorkhon and the kin#but Isidor having this independent streak that makes him resent that#hes like a spiritual libertarian#if he wants to get fucked over by devils he should be ALLOWED TO MOM!!!

a book you think everyone should read in their lifetime
Ooo this is kind of a hard one, there are so many books I really like.
I think I have to say the way of kings, just because that book had such an impact on me and my writing, and it, along with the rest of its series, just absolutely fucking slaps, to me at least
#it has everything it has intrigue it has action it has the main characters all so so sad#it has magic it has excitement#in the series as a whole it has cosmic threats it has oh so satisfying comeuppance#it has genuinely shocking revelations#it has detailed history#it's completely standalone but is also connected with a wider web of storiws#it's actively being written and the final book in the series is in progress#but the world will outlast this series and spawn another book series that'll go into like the 2040s

One of the things thatâs fascinating about Superboy to me as a shameless powerscaler is that heâs like. Right on the edge of being too powerful. Thereâs a line between characters that can be active heroes and beings that are so powerful as to basically be gods, who have to be shuffled off to their own corners of canon and only show up for really big cosmic threats so as to not break the plausibility of the setting. Superman stays out of Gotham, Silver Surfer stays out in space, Jean Gray dies if she goes full Phoenix. Kon should be in that category, but no one at DC pays enough attention to him to realize it.
Can you imagine? A character who is basically Jean Gray and Superman combined, but no one ever thinks about it because he wears silly shades and a leather jacket and his telekinesis has a minor range limitation that heâs outgrowing. If you seriously introduced a character like that, the idea of them being an oft-ignored minor character would be laughable.
And yet, somehow Kon sneaks in under the radar! At least part of it is the Kryptonian powerset, obviously. Between the various members of the Superfam and the many copies and parodies across different settings, we get used to treating all those very powerful abilities as one thing, so it doesnât feel like as big a deal to add all of them onto one other power, especially when Tactile Telekinesis is often forgotten or underused by writers who canât manage inventive power use.
But what it all adds up to is one of the most powerful characters in DC canon, with a huge amount of room to grow, being consistently treated as a minor sidekick. Itâs truly wild.

ASL BROTHERS WITH A SHY S/O
WARNINGS: GENDER NOT SPECIFIED + NOT PROOFREAD
CHARACTERS: Luffy + Ace + Sabo
NOTES: Do Luffy haters exist? Itâs a dumb question, yesâbut Iâm genuinely curious. Heâs so cute and dumb, I find it hard to not love him.
LUFFY
Luffy wouldnât really âgetâ shyness in the conventional sense. But hereâs the thing about Luffy: heâs all about accepting people as they are, no questions asked. He treats you with the same bright-eyed, wide-grinned enthusiasm he shows everyone. The idea of you needing to be more outgoing wouldnât even cross his mind because, to him, youâre already perfect as you are. Shyness? Never heard of it. Just pass the meat, please.
Now, Luffyâs approach to social interactions is, well, 100% Luffy. He doesnât really adapt his wild and carefree style to match anyone elseâs comfort levels. If you're quiet and reserved, thatâs coolâLuffy just goes on living life at full volume like itâs another Tuesday on the Sunny.
At first, you might be left wondering how in the seven seas youâre going to survive the endless hurricane of chaos that follows this rubbery captain around. But soon, and without realizing it, you start to find that his reckless antics and headfirst approach to life are... kind of charming. Sure, itâs like living next door to a tornado, but itâs a tornado that makes you laugh until your sides hurt and never lets you get too deep into your own thoughts.
Whatâs funny is that while he doesnât actively try to make you feel more comfortable, he ends up doing it anyway. Itâs his Luffy magic. You find yourself smiling more often, your shyness loosening its grip bit by bit as he does dumb stuff and throws himself into trouble that only Luffy would consider fun.
Heâll walk up to you, grin stretching from ear to ear, holding out some bizarre, questionably edible snack and say, âYou gotta try this!â And just like that, the nerves you felt melt awayânot because heâs making an effort to make you feel at ease, but simply because heâs himself.
And sure, sometimes his energy is a lot. Weâre talking sprinting-across-decks, yelling-about-meat kind of âa lot.â But in the middle of all that noise, you come to realize that you feel safer and more at ease when youâre around him. Why? Because Luffy has this way of making everything fun and natural, and soon enough, that includes you too.
Before long, your shyness isnât something you worry about around him; itâs just another thing Luffy accepts without blinking, like itâs the most normal thing in the world. And in his eyes? It is.
Itâs cute because you two really are like the sun and the moon, with Luffy as the blazing, never-stopping sun, and you being the more reserved, quiet moon. Itâs like a cosmic duoâheâs all light and energy, and youâre the calm, cool reflection of it all. You balance each other out in the weirdest, most wonderful way.
And when people catch wind of the fact that Luffy is dating someoneâlet alone someone as shy as youâitâs like watching a cartoon characterâs eyes bug out of their head. Yeah, theyâre not wrong to be surprised, but Luffy doesnât care. Heâs already busy thinking about whatâs next on the agenda, probably involving meat or some kind of treasure hunt.
Luffy is anything but shy. He could probably talk to a rock and think itâs the best conversation heâs had all day. So when it comes to affection, heâs not exactly one to shy away from it. He might not be the clingiest partner out thereâheâs not going to be hanging off you like a koala (okay, maybe sometimes)âbut you can bet heâs there, always.
Whether itâs randomly giving you a hug in or tossing his arm around your shoulder like itâs no big deal, heâs just Luffyâand that means showing affection wherever and whenever he feels like it, no matter whoâs watching. Basically, heâs like a âhereâs my arm, itâs yours nowâ kind of guy.
While Luffy doesnât exactly get what makes you shy, heâs surprisingly good at picking up on your feelings. If youâre feeling anxious, or if youâre shrinking back into your shell a little bit, Luffy has this unbelievable ability to sense when you need a change of pace. Without even thinking about it, heâll grab your hand and drag you off on some wild adventure, just to get your mind off things.
He doesnât even need a reasonâhe just knows that you could use a distraction, and heâs the perfect person to provide it. Besides, that just gives him more time to spend with you! And, of course, he might offer you one of his beloved snacks or a full meal if youâre feeling off. Seriously, do you know how big that is? Luffy parting with his food is like a miracle in itself, so if heâs offering it to you, you better believe youâre special.
And letâs talk about the food thing for a sec. Do you even realize how big of a deal it is that Luffy shares his food with you? Like, do you know how many times heâs turned down offering a bite of his meat to anyone? Probably never. So when he hands you a piece of his prized food, you know itâs a huge honor. Weâre talking sacred territory here.
If you ever doubted your place in Luffyâs heart, just remember: he shares his food with you. Thatâs a level of trust and affection that not even the grandest feast can outdo. Trust me, youâve got a special place in his world, and itâs right next to the meat and maybe a little bit of the chaos.
Luffyâs naturally the type of guy whoâd include you in absolutely everythingâbecause why wouldnât he? To him, youâre part of the crew, part of his world, and that means heâs going to drag you into every single bit of it.
Youâd be minding your own business, maybe sitting quietly with your book or trying to sneak in a nap, when suddenlyâBAM! Luffy's in front of you, grinning like a madman, already talking about the next big adventure or game that everyoneâs playing. âCâmon, join us!â heâd say, and before you could protest, heâs already tossing you into the mix.
Itâs not that heâs forcing you to join, thoughâLuffy just has this way of making you feel like you should be there, without ever putting you on the spot. His carefree, inclusive attitude makes it feel like the natural thing to do. You never feel pressure; you just feel... valued. Like you belong, whether youâre quietly cheering from the sidelines or joining in with your own brand of awkward enthusiasm.
Itâs like Luffyâs energy is so contagious that you canât help but want to be part of whatever insane thing heâs cooking up that day, even if itâs just watching him eat his weight in food and making random, nonsensical decisions.
If anyone ever crossed the line with youâteased you, made you uncomfortable, or said something that got under your skinâLuffy would flip the script faster than you can blink. That goofy, carefree grin would disappear in an instant, replaced by a rare, uncharacteristically serious expression.
Suddenly, heâs standing right in front of you like a human shield, ready to take down anyone who dared upset you. Heâs usually a chaotic force of nature, but mess with his loved ones, and thatâs when you see a side of him that is all about protecting you.
He wouldnât hesitate to confront the person, his voice firm and unwavering. âHey! Thatâs not cool! You donât mess with my crew!â Heâs not one for subtlety or second-guessing, so youâd know right away that Luffyâs on your side. If someoneâs being rude or making you feel small, heâll make sure they know theyâve messed with the wrongggggg person.
The crewâs used to this by nowâbecause Luffy, despite his childish nature, would go to the ends of the earth to defend the people he cares about. Youâd feel like the most important person in the world in that moment because, in his eyes, you are.
Luffyâs loyalty is on another level entirely. Once heâs decided he cares about someone, theyâre inâno questions, no conditions, just pure, unfiltered loyalty. If youâre lucky enough to be someone Luffy loves, youâd know it in every grin, in every spontaneous gesture, and in every single, joyfully shouted âLetâs go!â Youâd never have to second-guess where you stand with him, because Luffyâs affections are as clear as day, as honest and unwavering as the sea he dreams of conquering.
So whether youâre officially part of his crew or not, in his mind, youâre always one of them, and heâd tell anyone whoâll listen, âYeah, theyâre with me!â with a pride thatâd make your heart swell.
The best part? Luffy would constantly invite you to tag along on whatever wild journey or ridiculous stunt heâs about to pull. Thereâd be no hesitation; itâd be, âHey! Letâs go on an adventure!â as if going on an impromptu quest was as simple as taking a stroll to the market. Itâs almost like Luffy has this unspoken rule: every exciting, crazy, fun thing has to be experienced with you.
From treasure hunts that end up in unexpected fights with sea kings to races through bustling ports (where he definitely has no idea where heâs running but is laughing the whole time), Luffy wants you there, right in the middle of it all. Youâd probably sigh at the thought of jumping headfirst into another unpredictable situation, but Luffyâs enthusiasm is like a gravitational pullâitâs impossible to resist.
And thank goodness for that, because your timid self wouldnât stand a chance at taking the lead in any of these wild endeavors. Luckily, Luffyâs the type to charge forward, dragging you along by the hand with zero doubts and zero plans. He makes all the decisions for both of you, which, sure, sometimes means ending up lost on an island full of very angry, very large monkeys because, âThey looked friendly!â
Youâd feel a mix of exasperation and endearment at his antics. He doesnât realize it, but his willingness to be the fearless leaderâeven if his plans are sometimes made with the strategic prowess of a rubber chickenâtakes the pressure off you. You donât have to stress over decisions or worry about whether youâre doing the right thing, because Luffyâs already ten steps ahead (probably literally sprinting) and dragging you along with a confidence that borders on reckless.
And honestly? Thatâs part of the charm. His âplansâ might be half-baked and a little foolish, but he makes up for it by being completely and unapologetically himself.
Youâd find yourself smiling more than you ever expected, getting swept up in the whirlwind that is Luffy, and realizing that being with him means never feeling alone, even if youâre quiet or shy.
His laughter, his outbursts, and his impulsive decisions would all become things you cherish, because with him leading the way, life feels a little less scary and a lot more exciting.
ACE
Ace is all warmth and energy, like a bonfire on a chilly night, and heâd go out of his way to make sure you feel comfortable in his presence. Despite his natural tendency for excitement and spontaneity, heâd be mindful of your shyness, making a conscious effort to dial down the volume when needed.
Youâd catch him lowering his voice a bit, softening his laughter, or even sitting a little closer with a reassuring grin. His laid-back nature would do wonders for your anxiety, melting it away bit by bit like ice under the sun. Heâd take a more casual, playful approach when heâs with you, balancing his liveliness with a kind of gentle attentiveness that makes your heart feel at ease.
Ace has a knack for starting conversations, even if the topic is completely random. Heâd sense your hesitance and jump in without skipping a beat. âDid I ever tell you about the time I tried to cook for the crew and accidentally set a whole forest on fire?â heâd start, eyes twinkling as he watches your reaction.
His stories are always ridiculousâstories of clumsy mishaps, epic pranks gone wrong, or that one time he fell asleep mid-battle. Youâd find yourself laughing in spite of yourself, the tension in your shoulders easing as you realize heâs making himself the butt of the joke, just to make you feel more at ease. Heâd keep talking until he sees that spark of amusement in your eyes, and then keep going, his smile growing wider every time you giggle.
And Aceâs teasing? Oh, heâd be a master of that fine line between making you laugh and making you blush. Heâd lean in, smirking just enough to be charming, and say, âWhatâs this? A smile? I knew it was in there somewhere.â His playful comments would come with a wink and a laugh, just enough to make your face warm, but never enough to make you feel like youâre being put on the spot.
If he ever saw you growing quiet or noticed that hint of panic in your eyes, heâd immediately back off, switching to a softer tone and throwing in a quick âIâm just messing with yaâ followed by that disarming grin of his.
Ace would be incredibly in tune with your reactions, watching for the tiniest signs that youâre feeling overwhelmed. The moment he picks up on it, heâd change gearsâmaybe suggesting a quiet spot on deck where you could sit together and watch the stars, or offering to take a walk to get some fresh air. Heâd brush off the seriousness with a light, âHey, itâs just us. No pressure, alright?â The way he says it makes you feel safe, like itâs just you and him against the world, no expectations or worries allowed.
Ace is the definition of a warm hug in human form, so being a tactile person comes naturally to him. But when it comes to you, heâd show an impressive amount of restraintânot an easy feat for someone whoâd usually throw an arm around a friend without thinking twice. Well, youâre not just his friend but his lover, obviouslyâbut what Iâm getting at us that heâs a pretty affectionate guy.
Heâd start small, easing you into it with light touches: a friendly pat on the shoulder when you share a joke, a playful ruffle of your hair that would leave you smiling and maybe a little flustered. Youâd catch the subtle glances heâd shoot you afterward, as if heâs silently checking, Was that okay? Did that make you uncomfortable? Itâs endearing how heâs so in tune with your comfort level, his natural affection turned into a gentle dance of patience and care.
As time went on and your confidence around him grew, Ace would start to introduce more meaningful touches. Heâd sneak in side hugs when youâre sitting together, leaning into you with that easygoing smile of his that made your heart race. And when the day finally came that you leaned into him on your own, whether it was out of exhaustion or just because you felt safe, the soft, proud look on his face would be priceless.
Ace would make a big deal out of it in the quietest way possible, his hand finding yours in a reassuring squeeze as if to say, Hey, look at you, being brave. Eventually, heâd graduate to full-on snuggling when you were comfortable, and the first time he wrapped you in his arms and pulled you close, youâd know just how deeply he cared.
And when social situations become too muchâbecause letâs face it, Ace has a lot of friends and a magnetic personality that draws people inâheâd be the first to notice if youâre starting to feel overwhelmed.
In those moments, heâd spring into action without making it obvious. Heâd tell a ridiculously over-the-top story, one that would steal the spotlight from everyone else and have the whole roomâs attention fixed on him, leaving you a moment to breathe.
Ace would always throw himself into being the distraction, whether it meant cracking jokes or reenacting a failed stunt that ended with him pretending to trip over his own feet. Heâd shoot you a quick wink in the middle of it, as if to say, See? Iâve got you.
Itâs not that he wanted to be the center of attentionâokay, maybe a little, but only when itâs for you.
Heâd take on the role of court jester, chaos-maker, or even reluctant hero if it meant taking the pressure off you for a while. If anyone questioned it, heâd brush it off with a laugh and a shrug, all while keeping an eye on you to make sure you were okay.
And if things really got too much, Ace wouldnât hesitate to steer you away from the noise altogether, leaning in close and saying, âLetâs get outta here for a bit, yeah?â Heâd lead you somewhere quieter, a hand on your arm or fingers interlaced with yours, the simple touch grounding you as you walked.
Youâd both end up somewhere peaceful, maybe under the stars or by a flickering campfire, where heâd wrap an arm around your shoulder and say, âYou donât have to explain. Just take your time.â And you would, with the steady thump of his heartbeat right next to yours, knowing heâd take on the world just to make sure you felt comfortable and safe.
Ace would be your number one cheerleader, hyped beyond belief over every little victory you achieved. You managed to say something in a group conversation? Heâd beam at you like you just solved world peace. âLook at you go! Youâre amazing!â heâd shout, probably a bit louder than necessary, with that signature grin that lights up his entire face.
If you reached out to touch his arm or, heaven forbid, initiated a hug, thereâd be a solid five minutes of him staring at you in delighted disbelief before breaking out into an excited, âDid you justâ? You did! You did!â
What you might not notice is that whenever you step even half a toe out of your comfort zone, Ace is in the background punching the air with all the subtlety of an over-caffeinated kid at a birthday party.
It doesnât matter if itâs a tiny thing, like making eye contact with someone new, or a big step like saying a few words in front of the crewâAce is celebrating it like you just discovered the One Piece itself.
He might look a bit unhinged to anyone passing by, but heâs never cared about that. Youâre his person, and your wins are his wins. Heâs just out here being the proudest guy alive, punching invisible foes and mouthing, Thatâs my partner!
And the way he looks at you? Itâs like youâre the most priceless treasure in the world, and not just in the fleeting, pirate-wants-your-gold way. No, Aceâs gaze is full of warmth and genuine awe, the kind that makes you feel like youâre wrapped in a blanket of sunshine.
When you speak, whether itâs a confident statement or a hesitant mumble, Ace is all ears. His eyes would fix on you with this almost comically serious expression, nodding along like youâre revealing some ancient, life-altering secret.
You could point to the sky and say, âThatâs the sky,â and heâd respond with a deep, earnest nod and a wide grin, âExactly! I love that you noticed!â The rest of the crew might shake their heads and mutter things like, âHere they go again,â but Ace doesnât care. If it matters to you, it matters to himâsimple as that.
It doesnât matter how mundane your observation is or how shyly you say it; to Ace, every word is golden. Heâd hang on every syllable as if you were weaving a tale worthy of a bardâs song. Youâd catch him repeating things you said back to you later, just to show heâd remembered, saying things like, âOh yeah, like you said the other day, the sky really was a perfect blue.â
Itâs almost ridiculous, but thatâs Aceâheâd make you feel like every tiny thing you did was extraordinary, because in his eyes, it truly is.
SABO
Sabo is the calm breeze compared to the whirlwinds that are Luffy and Ace, which makes him the perfect blend of approachable and comforting.
With his natural ease and warm, diplomatic demeanor, youâd find yourself feeling more at peace around him sooner than youâd expect. Saboâs the kind of person who could have a conversation with anyone, but when heâs with you, youâd feel like youâre the only one in the world that matters.
Heâs just got this knack for making everything feel safe, like heâs a sturdy anchor in a storm. If you ever started to feel overwhelmed, Sabo would be the first to notice, with a quiet attentiveness that doesnât scream Iâm watching you but more like Iâm here if you need me.
Heâd be a master of subtlety, paying close attention to what made you nervous and what helped you open up, all without making it seem like he was analyzing you. Youâd catch him making mental notes when you shifted uncomfortably or lit up at something specific. Heâs probably like, âWrite that down, write that down!â in his head.
And heâd use those observations to make your interactions more comfortable. If he noticed that certain topics or big crowds made you anxious, heâd steer conversations towards lighter things or find a reason to take a quiet walk somewhere less crowded.
Sabo would never rush you into sharing more than you were ready for. He understands that trust is built slowly, like adding logs to a fire, not dumping gasoline on it and hoping for the best.
Sabo would show his affection in the most considerate ways, taking into account what youâd find comforting rather than overwhelming. That being said, grand and dramatic gestures arenât his style when it comes to you; heâd save those for his other acts of rebellion.
With you, heâd stick to smaller, more intimate actions. Heâd brush his fingers across yours before holding your hand, always making sure it was welcome. Heâd lean in a little closer when youâre talking, eyes fixed on you with that soft, attentive gaze of his that makes you feel like you have all the time in the world.
Thereâd be moments when heâd reach out with a light touch on your arm, or just the simple press of his shoulder against yours when you sat side by side, enough to let you know he was there but never too much to make you uncomfortable.
Itâs like he has a sixth sense for what was just the right amount of closeness. And if you ever looked unsure or nervous, Saboâs eyes would catch yours, full of warmth and encouragement, like he was silently saying, Take your time, Iâm not going anywhere.
The patience heâd show would be unmatched; you could almost hear him mentally cheering you on even if you were just picking your words slowly or taking a deep breath before saying something important.
And the way heâd support you? Subtle but powerful. If you ever found yourself second-guessing or fumbling, heâd quietly step in to help redirect the conversation or offer a reassuring comment. âI think thatâs a great point,â heâd say with genuine enthusiasm, giving you that extra boost of confidence.
And when youâd catch him watching you speak, the look in his eyes would always be one of admirationânever judgment, never pressure, just pure, patient support. And whether itâs a simple chat or a quiet walk together, Saboâs presence would be your reminder that youâre valued, seen, and cherished, just as you are.
When it came to conversations, Sabo would be your guy for deep, meaningful talks, but with a healthy dose of humor to keep things light. Heâd pick the coziest, quietest corner on the ship or at a cafĂŠ, leaning in with a thoughtful smile and saying, âAlright, you ready to hear some top-secret stories about Ace and Luffyâs greatest flops?â And heâd be off, recounting tales of Luffy trying to eat something he really, really shouldnât have or Aceâs legendary nap times that ended in near-disaster.
His stories are designed not just to make you laugh, but to remind you that even these larger-than-life brothers were and still are total dorks sometimes. And before you know it, youâre easing into sharing a few of your own stories, prompted by his gentle encouragement and the safety his presence provided.
If there was ever a moment where you hinted at wanting to join in on an activity or step outside your comfort zone, Sabo would light up like someone just told him there was free cake on deck. But instead of jumping up and down and looking crazy, Saboâs celebration would be the dignified, internal kind.
Picture a boardroom in his mind filled with 10 tiny Sabos all jumping out of their chairs, high-fiving each other, and throwing confetti in the air. On the outside, heâd just offer you that calm, reassuring grin and a simple, âYouâve got this. And if not, weâll laugh about it later, yeah?â
Heâd be your biggest silent cheerleader, always ready with a patient hand to guide you or a subtle nudge if you needed it. If you wanted to join in on a game or join a conversation but hesitated, Sabo would seamlessly include you, making it feel natural and not like he was pointing out your shyness.
Heâd say things like, âHey, I think Y/N would be perfect for thisâwhat do you think?â and then shoot you a wink that says, See? Not so bad, right? And when you took that first step, whether it was a comment or a hesitant laugh at a joke, Saboâs inner cheering squad would be losing their collective minds.
So while Ace might be punching the air and Luffy would probably shout, âYou did it!â at full volume, Sabo would play it coolâat least on the outside. But donât be fooled. The minute he seeâs you trying something new or making a move outside your comfort zone, those 10 tiny Sabos in his head would be throwing a full-on carnival, complete with fireworks and dancing.
And heâd just keep giving you that look that said, Youâre amazing, and Iâm so proud of you. Because to him, youâre always worth celebrating, no matter what.
If thereâs one thing Sabo doesnât tolerate, itâs someone messing with the people he cares about. So if he spotted you feeling uncomfortable or noticed someone trying to be intimidating, heâd swoop in with the subtlety of a master diplomat. Sabo wouldnât make a scene, but instead, heâd redirect the situation like an absolute pro.
Maybe heâd throw out a well-timed joke, ask a question that shifts the focus, or suddenly develop an urgent need for your opinion on something random, like, âHey, didnât you say you know a lot about⌠apples?â The offender would be left blinking, and youâd find yourself in a new conversation before you even realized what happened. Crisis averted, all thanks to Saboâs suave social maneuvering.
And then thereâs Saboâs sweeter sideâhis covert operation of affection. He knows that grand, dramatic proclamations can sometimes make you want to dive head-first into the nearest bush, so heâs perfected the art of subtle, heartfelt gestures.
Heâd leave little handwritten notes tucked in places he knows youâll find, maybe in your favorite book or slipped under your plate at breakfast. Each note would be filled with the kind of genuine, thoughtful words that would make your heart do an embarrassing little flip. Theyâd say things like, I know youâre stronger than you think, and I canât wait for the world to see it, too, or The stars were beautiful last night, but not as much as seeing you smile today.
And donât even get started on the letters. Oh, the letters. Sabo would write you these intricate, beautifully crafted notes that read like they came straight from the heart of a poet whoâs just returned from a victorious battle.
He could have just finished a day of intense Revolutionary Army missions, covered in dust and exhaustion, but youâd still get a note that starts with, Hey, you. Iâm thinking about you, and ends with some metaphor about how your presence makes the world brighter, even when heâs knee-deep in chaos.
Youâd find trinkets, tooâmaybe a small charm he found that reminded him of you or a pressed flower from somewhere he thought was pretty. Itâs the little things that would make your day and remind you that, no matter what chaos heâs wrapped up in with the Revolutionary Army, youâre always on his mind. And when youâd look up at him, cheeks flushed from finding yet another one of his notes or small gifts, Sabo would just grin that charming, lopsided grin and say, âDid you find it? Good. I meant every word.â
Heâs protective, thoughtful, and romantic in a way that feels like itâs tailored just for you. And even if heâs balancing the weight of revolutions and strategic plans, Sabo makes sure you know that youâre not just part of his lifeâyouâre the best part.

Violet Core Approaches
So. My close friend and collaborator Sarah Carapace has been working on Violet Core - a ttrpg about dykey mecha pilots in space - for the past few years, and that work is approaching its fruition. It's about to get kickstarted pretty soon, and I got a preview copy of the game ahead of that. So, preview/review I shall.
Disclaimers: I'm close friends with Sarah, was involved in some of the early playtests, and might end up doing a stretch goal for the game. So, I am of course wildly biased in Sarah's favour. Still, even if I wasn't, I figure this'd be my jam.
TL,DR: This game is really really good, back the kickstarter. For more details, read on.
The Basics:
Violet Core is set in the Nemesis System, an alternate scifi version of the solar system. The game follows the lives of spacers cut off from their home planet, Cerulea, as they face an oncoming disaster as escalating waves of comet-storms hit the system and everything starts to come apart.
Our characters are mech pilots for one of three factions of spacers - The Reach, The Homebound, and The Cosmic Embrace - each with their own perspective on what to do about the looming disaster. It's generally agreed that they need to escape, but where to and how is a source of conflict.
All three factions and their approaches have their merits. Although the Reach are positioned as more heirarchical and organised than the other two, all three are clearly scrappy tenacious punk-ish survivors who've been rejected and exiled to space by the dickhead bourgoisie of their home planet, Cerulea.
Luckily, you get to pilot X-10s, giant personalised mechs powered by a mysterious psycho-active (psychic?) crysteline core. This lets you get up to all the various activities you just pictured when I said that.
Tonally, it's Sarah Carapace through-and-through. Everything is purple and blocky, with CRT monitors and snaking cables and spray-paint. Riot Grrl mashed up with retro scifi mashed up with cosmic weirdness.
On The Humble D4
The game uses the oddity of dice - the humble D4 - as its main dice, with D8s scattered in here and there. It's a choice I really like, giving the game a feel that's a little angular and off-centre. It's a simple choice, but it does a lot to set it apart. I can't sum this up better than Sarah does, so I'll just quote her:
d4s are the most cursed of all dice.
They are awkward to roll.
They are pointy and can/will stab you.
Femininity is pointy, painful and powerful and so are these odd little polyhedrons.
Also, There is no standardised style for d4s. When you roll them, the result is the number displayed upright, either on the top or bottom. It varies from die to die.
Which I think gives you a good sense of the tone of the whole game, y'know?
The game cares about dice as physical objects deeply. Players can use the emotional connections between their characters to donate bonus dice to another character's rolls: the game suggests that when you do, you should pass her your physical dice, and use the motion of how you do it (including potentially how your hand touches hers as you hand them over) as a way of expressing the connections between characters, which is a fucking genius bit of design.
Anyway. Who do you play as?
Some sort of dykey space-gal x-10 pilot. To define who you are, you pick three things: the faction you belong to, your pilot type, and the X-10 you pilot. I'll go over each in quick succession.
Your faction determines your political alliance and likely goals, and the culture you grew up in, and each faction has access to a different set of X-10s. You pick between:
The Reach: the most organised and strict faction, and the oldest. Strict, heirarchical, and high-tech. You play here if you want to have a good The Man to chafe against, or to be that The Man for somebody else. The Reach are working on engineering humanity to be able to survive the coming disaster and thrive in space, and building a vast engine - the Overlock - to enable this.
The Homebound: the most rough-and-ready faction. A large population of working-class gals, and with too few resources to go around. They're working on repairing a giant machine, The Sling, to transport their people to another star system and flee the coming disaster. Unfortunately, The Sling and The Overlock are both adaptations of the same machine...
The Cosmic Embrace: the weirdo faction. The smallest, most mystic, and overall hippy-est. Short on space, people, and resources, but not on idealism and enthusiasm. They're poking the weird shit of the setting, and getting results. A little culty. In the playtest I was in, I played Cosmic Embrace, obviously.
Notably, you can have PCs all be in the same faction, or be split between them. If split, there's lines of conflict, but also room for alliances and subterfuge. PCs can, and might well, switch faction in play.
As well as your faction, you pick your pilot type. There's three broad types of pilots you can be:
Genebuilt, artificially created super-pilots with custom genetics to make them good in space. Divided into two rough types; the Violet Kind (for if you were a successful project, and inhereted mysterious abilities) or the Rat Bitch (for if you... weren't, and mostly just inhereted emotional issues). There's some interesting space to play with the idea of nature vs nurture here, or with the pressure of expectation.
Baseliners, aka normal humans who haven't been genetically engineered or tinkered with. Again, divided into two types; the Shining Star (for if you're keeping up with the best through sheer talent and training) and the Baseline Breaker (for if you're a normal person getting by with determination and adaptability.
And then, lastly, the Returned. People who died - or nearly died - and were brought back. The character creation section only mentions one sort of Rebuilt - the Returned, who have been remade by the power of humans science - but hints that other sorts might exist. And indeed they do, tied to the mysteries of the setting.
I ended up playing a Rat Bitch, who'd seen her best buddy get horribly fucked up in a training exercise and gone awol. It was great fun.
Lastly, your X-10. Each faction has three models of X-10, divided by function: Warriors to be brutal front-line fighters, Rogues to be mobile scout-types, and Witches that do weird shit and fight at range. Out of these, each faction has its own version of each of these archetypes. Some X-10 models are pretty common and mass-produced (like the Ogress, the Reach's warrior-frame), and some are rare or even unique (like the Hag, the homebound's rare and experimental Witch type that can fuck with time and space).
Each X-10 has its own Violet Core, the psychoactive crystal that's at the heart of the mech and gives the game it's name. Thoughts from the violet core filter through to the pilot, and visa versa. If you pilot a Hag for long, you'll start thinking Haggish thoughts, and your own emotions will start to seep into the core. It can get real strange real fast.
Each type of X-10 feels and plays extremely differently, in a way I personally found made your choice of frame a reflection of your pilot's personality. My pilot ended up in a Mermaid - the Cosmic Embrace's version of a Witch frame - that had the ability to shift space around it (her?), and 'swim' out of the normal world into sub-space. Which brings me to...
The Spaces & The Mysteries
As well as the material, mundane world - what Violet Core terms 'top-space' - there are two other spaces that exist.
Sub-space is a serene, empty (is it?) realm that lies below top-space. You can dive into sub-space in the right X-10s, and explore. Time and space are wierd and fluid here. If you dive deeply, you find... things. If you dive too deep, you might not come back the same, or at all. There are mysteries down there. Remember I mentioned there are other types of Returned you might become? Yeah. Remember those Violet Cores that power your X-10s? They're made from something called 'the fingers' found deep down in sub-space. Who's fingers? You see where I'm going with this.
There's also The Violet Realm. This is the psycho-sphere, the realm of dreams and emotions and mystical experiences. The violet core of your X-10 links you to the Violet Realm. You can meditate to experience it, to commune with what's within...
This is a setting with mysteries. There are things to explore, forces and powers beneath the surface. I won't elaborate. Partly because I don't want to spoil the discovery for you, and partly because I don't want to read it all and spoil myself before I can play this again. What I will say is that the bits I did read ahead on give you a lot to explore, and are explained in a way that make how they tie into the wider setting and plot. It's all coming together into something impressive.
Personally, as a player of rpgs (larp and ttrpg) I really enjoy settings which present you with mysteries and mysticism, which let you explore the underlying nature of this universe in ways that are at times rational and at times intuitive or mystical. It's an itch few other ttrpgs have scratched for me. Lacuna and Orpheus were, until now, games that achieved what I wanted; now I get to add a third game to the list in Violet Core.
In case it wasn't clear, this is high praise. This is extremely high praise.
Mechanics
I'm going to assume you're already sold. If you aren't, let me make a statement:
I'm mad I didn't think of these game mechanics.
The core engine is pools of d4s, in a way I believe is drawn from forged in the dark. However, unlike FitD, I really like how VC handles its rolls. Particularly - as I mentioned above - the way players can pull on the connections between PCs to offer each other dice, and the way this affects the game.
The core is pretty simple but has nuance. There are PbtA-style moves - things like Negotiate, or Hurt, or Shield - that trigger when you do a particular thing. You roll, and get a codified result based on the result. When you roll, you get a number of dice depending on how you're going about it. In person, you use your talents; things like Making Out and Using Your Head. In your X-10, you use the X-10's talents, things like Synchronising and Drawing Near. An example: You're piloting a Mermaid, and you see your friend (piloting an Ogress) is about to be struck by spiraling comet shards. To save her, you dive across to pull her out of top-space and into sub-space with you, dipping out of the material world to avoid the hazard. Since pulling somebody into Sub-space with your X-10 is Draw Near, you roll as many d4s as your Draw Near pool, and count how many hits you get. Since you're trying to protect somebody, you take that result and look at the Shield move to see what happens.
It's a simple core that's then built on with more detail, giving it a lot of room for nuance and expression.
Further, there's a neat little system for tracking the emotional connections between PCs and how they escalate over time. As they escalate, you pick statements to describe how you feel, pinning down the nature of the relationship, that will get deeper and more intense the further in you get. And the further in you get, the more potent it is when you hand another player your dice to assist her PC.
In play its such a neat, deep, evocative system that it made me really mad I didn't think of it myself. It's basically perfect.
Sorties, in which our cosmic purple space robots punch each other
Up front. Although your in giant space-mechs with giant space-weapons, combat isn't meant to be lethal and horrid. It's intense, and gritty, and emotional raw, but in the way that a bloody-knuckled fist-fight is, not in the way that a shootout is.
Fights aren't war. They're personal.
There's a lot of dancing metaphors in how the fights are described. You might be sparring or actually seriously going after each other, but either way, a fight is an interplay between two characters at their most intense. That thing where a fight scene serves the same purpose as a musical number? Yeah, that.
So. Each fight between X-10s is a Sortie. A sortie is divided into a series of steps, and at each step you pick an option for how you're fighting;
Lead, to be agressive
Sway, to be fluid and fucky
Follow, to be evasive
Sway hits follow, Follow hits lead, Lead hits sway. Its a rock-paper-scissors cycle. (If you get two Leads, both hit, and if you get two follows or sways, both miss.)
When you hit, you can trigger one of the moves as a result. It can get ugly and painful. It could concievably get vulnerable and emotional.
Critically, you have a limited pool of lead/sway/follow actions (depending on your X-10), that get used up as you use them in steps. IE: if you're piloting a Witch, you can use Sway twice and Lead & Follow once. So, you can count what you're opponent's used up, and predict their moves based on what they've got left. In really long sorties, once you've only got one option left to you, it resets.
A sortie is a sort of dance as you maneuver for the advantageous position, use that to fuck with your oponent, and get your fists bruised.
Damage to your X-10 can bleed through to you. Contact between two X-10s can bleed through to their pilots. Things can get strange, particularly when there's Witch X-10s involved.
I'm gonna quote the book again here:
Not all pilots fight to win. Some pilots fight to hurt.
The Gay Bits
As you might have realised by now, it's a really fucking sapphic game. Not as a focus, but in the way where all our PCs are assumed to be some sort of dykey queer type because that's just the kinda tone we're going for.
To misquote Sarah's fellow aussie: "This is my book motherfucker, they'll walk be lesbians if I tell them to".
Pulling It All Together
Tonally, it's a fucking slam dunk. The world bleeds with a very specific atmosphere, a sort of dykey grungey weirdness that draws on old late-80s to early-90s mecha anime, and Heaven Will Be Mine, and weird scifi.
The writing has a really strong voice. Sarah doesn't write like a typical clinical dispassionate ttrpg text, she writes like Sarah. There's little witicisms, emotional bits, slang. It reads like somebody passionately explaining how to play in person.
There's a lot of snippets of in-character text - chat logs, reports, records, recordings - that give you a sense of the sort of people in this world.
The art is all fucking gorgeous. Mostly Sarah art, with some guest spots.
It is extremely purple, so purple its even in the name.
In conclusion:
Listen I am wildly biased because I've been friends with Sarah for yonks, but even if I wasn't I'd be incredibly enthusiastic about this game because:
a) it seems to have been carefully fine-tuned to hit my tastes.
b) it's really fucking good. Really fucking good.
It's an idiosyncratic personal work that also has a huge cosmic scope to it. It fucks around with the medium of dice-based ttrpgs in interesting ways. It's gorgeously written. It's got a setting that makes me want to dive in and explore it.
You should go back the kickstarter when it goes live, and tell your friends about it, and I am not kidding. If this game isn't a wild success there is something wrong with indie ttrpgs. The kickstarter is here, I believe it's due to go live in a couple of days.
If any bloggers are interested in getting a preview copy of their own, hit me up and I can hit up Sarah and we can sort things out.

WELCOME TO PLEASANTOWN
PART 1 part 2!!! this took much more thinking than the previous one but i hope it turned out just as engaging :) i'll likely make another post with more details also big thanks to al-pomegranate-seeds for the ideas you sent me earlier, it really helped! the descriptions are below đ˝
GRUNT = DREAMER Professor Buzz Grunt is a respected researcher in his field, as well as an aspiring history novel author. However, after the unfortunate fire accident and the loss of his wife it became harder to provide proper education to his sons. Can his golden child Tank prove his worth to this demanding dad? Is he really ready to make a commitment to the new Specter heiress for the sake of the family?
SMITH = PLEASANT
Jenny always knew that there will be difficulties with cross-cultural relationships, but between juggling family and career problems, her way too secretive husband is just too much to keep track of. What is he hiding? Will Johnny be able to fit in and reconcile with his little sister? SPECTER = GOTH
When the head of Specter Industries was about to retire and pass the business to her son, he disappeared without a trace. Is there a possibility that this is the doing of someone with eyes set on her fortune? Can Olive really entrust the inheritance to her niece Ophelia?
CURIOUS = BROKE
Economy is tough and passion for science is expensive, so the Curious brothers have to share the living space to get by. After the birth of Tycho things have become especially challenging. While Lazlo is invested in dubious hacking activity, and with Vidcund eager to fund another one of his âsecret science projectsâ, can Pascal cope with his new role as a cosmic parent? And what about the rumor that the Specter heir was last seen scaling the deck of their house?
SINGLES = CALIENTE
Lola and Chloe arrived to Pleasantown to reconnect with their roots, or so they claim. Have they really been missing the fatherly affection, or do they have ulterior, fiscal motives?
LOSTE = LOTHARIO

Hello I'm back again at how Arcane ironically continues the cycle of violence that it says it wants to end at the end of S2. It's unsurprising, but just like general Western sentiment, Arcane also perpetuates the idea of This violence must stop - therefore the oppressed must stop rising up, through not just its treatment of Zaunite characters but also through the way the writers just handwaved away the issues of classism and oppression facing Piltover-Zaun.
They also continue the tradition of giving antagonists very valid points as they rise up against their oppression, and then they take it an extra step so they can villainize the oppressed and go like "hey actually look at their monstrous actions therefore they're all BAD and their points are invalid and these dangerous revolutions need to be put down." While I will give that Arcane certainly does give more nuance than standard Western media, it still ultimately falls into this same trap.
Like:
Enforcers killed Jinx/Powder's parents, but at the very end of the day she and Vi get no apology for their parent's death but she's the one who's apologizing to an enforcer for attacking the Councilors responsible for leading the oppression of Zaun
The shot of a Jinxer knocking away an enforcer's hand and then seeing that same enforcer helping an old lady and then feeling bad - like, oh no, this person who's part of a force that's been actively killing your people actually helps old ladies, actually everything is okay now
Renni, whose motivation was to avenge her son, is framed in a monstrous light while Jayce, who literally killed her child (a child!) does not even get a single second of introspection as he faces a grieving mother (Is there anything as undoing as a daughter/child? seems not to apply to Renni at all I guess)
The Zaunite characters that achieve any level of "peace" at the end with any part of Piltover are: - Vi, who gets together with an enforcer who literally gassed her city, and gets not a single moment of conflict past her initial apprehension at joining the enforcers and some jabs from Jinx that she brushes off. I do allow though that her getting together with Cait has been set due to game lore since a very, very long time. - Sevika, who is tokenized and placed on a hostile council - Jinx, who literally exiles herself and fakes her death - I'm not even going to count Viktor under this category given how Cosmic Horror Machine Herald completely does not relate to the themes of classism (but therein lies another problem, how Arcane did not address the systemic barriers that led him to this!)
Was Cait wrong for mourning over her mother? No, absolutely not. Was it understandable that she was extremely distraught, and wanted what she thought was justice? Yes, it was. Was it okay that she gassed civilians and then thought exactly zero (0) thoughts about how she was hurting innocents was it okay that she led a team to brutally continue the oppression of Zaun? No, it really fucking wasn't.
Overall, Arcane sustains the status quo; in doing so, it continues supporting a system that perpetuates violence against the working class, a system in which the marginalized must bend the knee to achieve a surface level of "peace".

âšsynopsis :: it doesn't take much to say or show you love someone even with the simplest of actions.
âšcontents :: can be read as fem/gn reader; characters from blue lock, jjk and honkai star rail, FLUFF, ooc maybe?
âšnotes :: as i was walking to go home at like 10pm i thought of this, hope you enjoy! added hsr specially for @okkalo âĄ
ITOSHI SAE immediately takes you out to visit the sea when he gets some days off. The sounds of the waves, the relaxing atmosphere and you in his arms calm him down causing him to flashback to his childhood memories of when he was just a small and carefree child wanting nothing more but to play football with his little brother and personal cheerleader.
Not only he is known as the strongest but GOJO SATORU is also known for having a very strong sweet tooth. So what does he do to reduce the sugar? He shares it with you because there is nothing better than sharing his favourite thing with his lover, so let's say he gets a double dose of chocolate and candy from just seeing you and that's enough.
AVENTURINE is not afraid to take the risk and his constant smile makes it difficult for people to guess his true intentions. Not with you though, he lets his guard down, your voice soothing him to help him relax and as he gets lost in your touch. He is not Aventurine of the IPC or the Ten Stonehearts, he is just Kakavasha the little boy who once dreamed of love and now he won the biggest treasure in his life â you.
ITOSHI RIN knows how much you don't like scary movies, and that's why when you come over for the weekends you watch movies or series of your choice, be it Barbie or The Lion King. He will swallow his ego and stop watching the weekly uploads of his favourite scary games just so you can't fall asleep on purpose because of the horror films.
GETO SUGURU can't stop talking about how beautiful, amazing, and kind you are. Mimiko and Nanako are tired because they are the only ones who get to hear all his murmuring when you are away even for only 5 minutes. But they know how much he loves you and how you breathe life into him, and he wishes that someday they will become like you â strong and good-hearted.
ARGENTI thanks and prays to Idrila every moment of his life for obtaining the biggest blessing to ever exist and that is meeting you. The Knight of Beauty makes sure to give you one red rose every day to express his profound love and admiration, it's a small gesture that symbolizes his devotion to the relationship. He should protect his lover and like flowers, the tender petals are directed to you, with the thorns to the cosmic and its danger protecting you
It may seem that he is spoiled, but in fact, NAGI SEISHIRO is not, well not that much. Sometimes he takes charge of the household chores, giving you, a well-deserved break. He washed the dishes, cooked you a meal (instant noodles), and even tried to fold the laundry. And you, pleasantly surprised, sank into the couch, embracing the rare luxury of relaxation as familiar songs from your shared playlist were playing on the TV. Even if it doesn't happen often you are forever grateful for your lazy boyfriend to do something like that.
ITADORI YUJI shows genuine interest and actively listens to you talking about your current obsession be it a series, celebrity, book, food, or anything. He loves your voice, seeing your beautiful smile, and how your eyes seem to sparkle as you talk, he is so lovestruck that he sometimes just stares at you with the most soft and genuine look. Just don't be surprised when you find some merchandise on your desk with a little love note, okay?
Engaging in meaningful conversations and connecting on a deeper level with DR. RATIO seems like every other normal day for him. He approaches every interaction with a thirst for knowledge. And you take him by surprise every time and he doesn't know what to do, the great genius suddenly stops functioning. The way you hold his hand, kiss his cheek, make him stutter â he goes crazy and questions himself about how there is no logical explanation for this, but there is, it is called love.
SHIDOU RYUSEI doesn't like to share his material possessions with anyone, he worked so hard to get the last volumes of Chainsaw Man as they are now put on the shelf in his bedroom. And imagine his reaction when he sees you reading volume 10 which has Makina on the cover, cuddled nicely with his blanket on the bed. How dare you read it without him? And so he jumps onto the mattress, squishing you because that's your punishment for not telling him. You apologized to him of course but for him to fully forgive you, next time you will be on anicon cosplaying Makima and Denji.
FUSHIGURO MEGUMI remembers the small details about you and your preferences. If you don't like a certain ingredient in the food, he will order the dish without it. You like to sleep on this side of the bed, no problem he will sleep on the other side as you both cuddle and drift to Dreamland. He will immediately notice the change in your mood and even if he is not so good with words, he will always be there for you offering his warm embrace.
As a Galaxy Ranger BOOTHILL tends to travel around the cosmos a lot and sadly he can't spend time with you. But when he's with you, one of the things you do is his hair and to put cute stickers on his metal hands or guns. The scary cyborg cowboy is now a pretty princess with pigtails, heart stickers and with a very happy lover. He watches you having fun with his makeover â and will do everything possible to spend more time with you.

do you ship any league characters together? to you have any favourite ships/otps?
also are there any rarepairs you like or do you mostly vibe with the popular ships
I maintain that Lillia/Yone is actually kind of great, Kai'sa/Taliyah is a compelling dynamic especially for hurt/comfort vibes and healing, and... look, I just think Olaf/Soraka is a compelling dynamic if you assume Olaf has an actual personality and isn't just a "RAARR VIKING BERSERKER BLARGH" 2010s internet comedy trope.
youtube
Olaf's whole thing is he's obsessed with this very specific Destiny⢠that he imagines for himself, and the world keeps dangling it just out of his reach. Odeipus-like, everything he does to reach the fate he desires pushes him further onto a path he hates and fears: survival.
And Soraka is the Star-child, seer and guide of mortal fates, the gentle hand who nudges a thread into the weave of fate when it's gone astray, or who quietly crosses it into a different weave when the fates are too cruel. Olaf badly needs someone to help him come to terms with his fate, or perhaps change it. And of course there's a natural dynamic in that Soraka's power is to heal with a gentle touch and Olaf's whole thing is charging headlong into as much pain and suffering as he can possibly find, in the hopes that some of it will finally kill him.
Soraka's healing is the single most fearful and terrifying weapon Olaf can imagine, a kind of cosmic horror almost, the very embodiment of the forces that keep denying him the glorious suicide he seeks. She has the power to force him to survive. Which, y'know, beyond the poetic resonance, there's a powerful kinky dom/sub dynamic there too, if you're of a mind to go look for it.
I think healdomming is already a thing in MMO RP spaces, actually? It's basically that, but with a sub who is actively, desperately, trying to die.

Kinda weird ask incoming: Are Bill's substance abuse issues in your characterization based on anything canon or an Alex Hirsch interview or something or is it just "he obviously would abuse substances (more) if this wasn't a disney show so I'm just filling in the blanks"
1/3 actual canon & context clues, 1/3 reading five feet deep into one foot deep canon material, 1/3 "he totally would if this wasn't Disney."
To my knowledge there's no interviews confirming that he's heavy on the substance ABUSE (rather than just substance use), but to my recollection I'm pretty sure he's got the most allusions to consuming something alcohol/drug-adjacent of all the characters in the show. Outside of Bill we've got:
Stan ordering "expired apple juice"
since we're including "they probably would have done this if not for Disney," you could make the argument that Stan drinking Pitt cola was probably supposed to be beer cans.
the apple cider at the Northwest party
I'm gonna throw in Grenda drinking spoiled milk
Mabel consuming Smile Dip
farmer Sprott drinking hippie tea and pouring it out when he sees the love god fly by
Ford & the Oracle drinking Cosmic Sand, something strong enough he wakes up the next morning in a different dimension
that one alcoholic priest in TBOB
on TINAWDC, Ford tells Stan where to find his stash of beer.
And I think that's it?? Remind me if there's more.
WITH Bill, we've got:
In the Bill Reddit AMA he mentions salting his margarita glass with Time Baby's molecules. (and for the longest time I'm pretty sure this was the only explicit reference to an alcoholic beverage in a Gravity Falls-adjacent media; but Reddit is a godless land where S&P cannot tread, so I'm not gonna put too much weight on that. Still worth mentioning tho.)
he's got Time Punch at his Fearamid Party. Considering the "time" in the name, it could be related to Cosmic Sand (maybe you mix sand to make the punch?) which would mean they're drinking HARD.
(if Cosmic Sand IS related to Time Punch, now that we know Jheselbraum was in Bill's gang, there's a high chance she picked up drinking it while in the Henchmaniacs, so that's another thing we can now tie back to Bill's influence.)
He's drinking something while trying to interrogate Ford, an activity you'd probably want to be clear headed for, meaning either he drinks so hard so regularly that he DOES still have a clear head or else he's so accustomed to going "this is stressful, I need a drink to unwind" that he just does it even though it puts him at a disadvantage.
with the addition of TBOB, we now have: the silly straw page, where he's drinking a cocktail while also sitting in an enormous cocktail. Bill gushes about silly straws as one of his favorite things; and we know that stems from childhood, but NOW he paints an association between silly straws, drinks, and an overall margaritaville vibe
Bill mentions that the shaman introduced him to a local strain of hallucinogenic moss
Bill brings boxed wine to the Puritan girls' night.
Bill gets Ford wasted at karaoke night (and I have no doubt Bill was just as sloshed)âand if he knows how to make a drink that'll get you drunk in your sleep, he's got some serious mixology chops
the O'Sadley's incident.
That's so big it gets two bullet points. Nowhere else in all of Gravity Falls is there such an extensive, explicit, or extreme example of unhealthy substance abuseâbarring the Smile Dip incident, but like, Mabel didn't know that was gonna happen and immediately swore off Smile Dip.
Three bullet points. He noclipped a guy into the ceiling. he got so drunk he forgot he killed his mom. He was arrested for "indecent exposure." Bill you good???
So most of the examples of drinking/hallucinogenics we get from the rest of the show are like, casual drinking or else children doing stupid shit. ONE incident of depressed drinking and one alcoholic side character.
But Bill drinks when he's partying, drinks when he's depressed, drinks when he's relaxing, drinks when he's stressed, drinks socially, drinks alone, drinks when he's helping a friend have fun, and thinks about drinking when he contemplates his worst enemies.
Okay.
Now half of these are from TBOB, so obviously they didn't factor into my decision to portray him as inclined to substance abuse over a year ago; but like... I'd say I interpreted the info we had on hand correctly, yeah?
Beyond that, it's a headcanon built up on the fact that he's got a lot of traits that lend themselves toward substance abuse.
An EXTREME "maximum fun NOW, consequences later NEVER" attitude. There seems to be no limits to how far he'll go in the name of chaos, fun, & hedonism, no matter who he hurts, no matter if he hurts himself. He's got that combination of reckless + irresponsible + shortsighted + passively self-destructive.
BIG on partying, which generally means drinks are involved and definitely seems to be the case here based on the time punch. "A party that never ends with a host that never dies"??
"says he's happy, he's a liar." When an emotionally stunted depressed person is in denial about being depressed and trying to convince everyone they're fine, what's a common coping mechanism? Self-medication!
he likes hurting himself. consuming substances in ways that are harmful to him is recreation to him. Yes I am talking about the soda in the eyes, even if it was a loaner body that can't have felt pleasant. The way he seeks out extreme+strange sensations makes me think he'd jump at the chance to try some weird new substance that does some crazy new thing to your head.
loves to socialize, but like... doesn't seem to have close friends. It would make sense for him to be inclined to use drinks/drugs as a social lubricant, both for himself and for his "friends," to help them all overlook the fact that maybe they don't actually really enjoy each other.
he's got a very strained relationship with reality, by which I mean he's actively attempting to murder reality and replace it with fantasy. What's a common method people use to try to escape/avoid reality? Self-medication!! What's one variety of self-medication particularly good at letting you slide into a fantasy world? Hallucinogenics! Which thanks to TBOB we now know he takes!!!
if Bill's reaction to an emotionally close relationship catastrophically falling apart is going on a massive bender, and if Bill's got a long string of exes that fell apart so catastrophically that they're straight up blocking his number, he's denying he ever dated them or ever felt love, and he's claiming that love is merely a pupa for hate... I think there's probably been a lot of benders.
overall he's just... a stressed, cranky, high-strung control freak who wants to give off the image of being so chill and cool and popular and enviable and suuuper happy. I think it'd make sense for him to turn to chemical assistance to bridge the gap between who he really is and who he pretends to be.
