꒰ EREN JAEGER ꒱
ꔛ everyone’s favorite pretty boy or highkey most hated in america, no in between. I feel like he’ll be either very miguel codex or slightly rob coded, aka either open asf or an “onion”
ꔛ he was quite friendly and engaged himself with everyone, platonically or romantically. he gave like a brotherly vibe or “best friend’s brother” vibe
ꔛ butttt I will say that eren was a bombshell that EVERY girl was swooning for and loved all the attention that he got. he was being indecisive on which girl he’d couple with cause he really wanted to get to know everyone
ꔛ a lot of people in america either disliked the way eren moved in the villa or understood where he was coming from. he honestly has tried multiple connections but it seems like none can click in a way that he wanted, no matter how much he tried :/
ꔛ as days and couplings pass, eren decides on the person that was for him, another new bombshell that everyone loved as well. your aura was radiating soft colors, friendly, kind, and a safe space for eren. ever since then, eren has been nothing but smiles, laughs, and always exuding soft love towards his couple
ꔛ with you, he felt like he could see himself in the end, make your relationship official, and show you off. he’s always smiling after you guy’s chats, talking about the outside world and expressing how much he adores you, slight flirting here and there but that’s typical eren
ꔛ every time you guys recoupled, eren’s speeches were short and sweet. some of them weren’t his best but it was still cute how he tries to express himself for you
ꔛ neowwww casa amor, I fear all his respect flew out the window and he just did his own thing. did he think about his couple from time to time? sort of….but he did excuse himself by saying he was testing yall connection (typical male behavior). though, during the casa recoupling he felt his heart drop when he came back with another girl and saw you standing all by themselves, dolled up and waiting with open arms. just to be embarrassed by this man and the girl who stole all his attention
ꔛ for days, he would try to win you back but he started feeling like there was no going back after casa. he made breakfast, wrote cute notes, talk to your friends, any and everything he tried all he can to win them back. in the end, he accepted his actions, the feelings he hurt, and broke it off with the girl he brought back. even after that, he kept up with the little actions to show how sorry he is and slowly won his way into america’s heart :)
ꔛ in the end, eren got eliminated before the final 4. he wasn’t mad at it, sulked a bit cause he’ll miss his friends and all the amazing people he met but he does understand why he didn’t make it to the end. also gave himself time to enjoy you in the real world and potentially become a real couple
꒰ CONNIE SPRINGER ꒱
ꔛ oh connie, the lover everyone wants in their lives. he’s so kordell coded, it’s actually sick just thinking about it; he’s charming, sweet, patient, and funny asf. he was america’s favorite boy and you can tell he definitely didn’t mind the attention
ꔛ I would say he’s an og and got along well with everyone, however didn’t really have a connection. he was in a couple but that didn’t necessarily work out and it kinda broke him, he thought he was gonna be eliminated and don’t experience the love he deserves :/
ꔛ but God bless, you came in as a bombshell and stole that boy’s heart quickly. the boys teased him about how they can practically see heart eyes in connie’s eyes as you entered, but can you blame him? you were stunning, your outfit fitted you well, and your beauty made his pound, he thought he could it for a second
ꔛ ever since you entered, he was all over you and pulling you into multiple chats. he really wanted to get to know you and beg that there could be something between the two of you and there was! it wasn’t there initially but as time passed, you felt giddy when you saw him :)
ꔛ throughout your time with him, he would rave on about how much he adores you, compliment your appearance and personality, doing everything in his willpower to show how much he genuinely likes you. he didn’t force himself on you, he gave you enough space and let you figure out where you stand with him
ꔛ the first time, y’all coupled together, oh that boy was grinning ear to earrrrrr. your speech wowed him and made him fall for you even more. as he approached you, and spun you around, he just can’t get over you he can’t help it. it feels like bright colors and giddiness as he was around you
ꔛ oh casa amor was his BIGGEST villain. he contemplated on staying but the boys convinced him that this will be like a mini vacation from the villa, trust them!! oh how he wish he didn’t listen…
ꔛ casa was fun and he did enjoy the girls that he met, he kept his distance as well and tried to respect himself for those three days. however this one girl was just temptation in a bikini; batting her eyes, touching him in all the right places, knowing exactly what to say to win cornelius over and I fear it worked….
ꔛ one kiss outside challenges and connie became allured by this girl. his hands on her body, enjoyed being sweet talk by her, being clouded by everything she says and does. well, ‘til the morning after, he wakes up and realizes how great of a mess he made for himself. he kissed another girl which lead him into a slight panic cause he won’t know how you’ll handle the news; his heart dropped to his ass when he realized how much he disrespected you
ꔛ the recoupling after casa wasn’t the prettiest, even when he didn’t walk in with ole girl. he did enough in casa and bringing that girl back would’ve done more collateral damage. however, when he received news that you knew what happened, he knew he couldn’t recover from it. he became apologetic as you stood there with an emotion that was anything but excited or happy to see him
ꔛ he spent, and I mean DAYSSSSS, winning you back. he would try what eren did and he went above and beyond to win you back. cooking you breakfast, apologizing daily, write notes, pull you for a chat and try to explain himself, tell you how much he missed you during casa, and try to convince you how sorry he was. it hurts him extremely that you’re upset with him instead of joking and smiling with him like you guys used to, and he was even more hurt when he found out how much you cried while casa and after casa
ꔛ america screamed at you to please take him back cause he’s trying to prove himself that he does like you and didn’t wanna hurt you like he did. y/n pleaseeeee take him back, he’s been silently sobbing in his bed for four days cause he missed you :(
ꔛ the recoupling where you did forgive him, oh he almost lost it (in a good way). he almost cried when you chose him cause he misses your presence, your chats, your beauty, everything about you and no one could have replaced that for him. he didn’t want any chance to ruin what y’all built AGAIN, no matter how tempting
ꔛ connie made it to the final four and won WOOOOOO!!! america already loved him but the dedication and his authenticity to win you back made the perfect love story to win america over. I mean who doesn’t love male groveling ;) ?
꒰ REINER BRAUN ꒱
ꔛ THE BIG, SOFT BLONDIE <33333. he’s kind, sweet, a great helper, extremely understanding, and always there for others. he grew such great bonds with everyone and everyone in the villa loved him from day one
ꔛ an og in the villa that seems to be the most favorited but can you blame them? plus, he wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to express himself with every person he’s interested in. he enjoyed his chats with everyone but he enjoyed yours the most, you bring this sort of energy that reiner can’t point out but adores it so well
ꔛ he instantly clicked with you from day one and expressed how much he’s interested in getting to know you. ever since then, you guys were joint at the hip and barely leaving each other’s side, and everyone in the villa always comment how much you two complement each other as you’re together
ꔛ he held your hand during your chats, let you lay on him, give you his full attention, giving you everything you need to know how much he’s invested in you. small compliments, breakfast with your fave drink, made you fruit bowls for snacks, given massages here and there, gave you small kisses, the list can go on how much reiner did for you
ꔛ every time the guys joked about how down bad reiner is, he just took it and agreed. he doesn’t mind being mister romantic for his couple, even after bombshells would pull him for dates and/or chats. he always found himself running back to you <3
ꔛ america’s lover boy and they couldn’t hate him one bit and the amount of fangirls he got? oh goodness, now everyone wants a reiner in their life
ꔛ oh reiner hated casa amor, he liked that he let himself experience it but one kiss outside challenges made you realize how much he missed you. he missed being your arms, he missed your smile, he missed your presence that brought him an immense amount of comfort and happiness. he could barely bare being without you
ꔛ thankfully, all the casa girls gave up and stopped trying to go after him from how much he sulked about missing you
ꔛ after casa was a bit….off. reiner was a bit anxious to tell you that he kissed someone and was scared that you were gonna leave him, he couldn’t let that happen! he worked up the courage to tell you and was ready to accept any sort of punishment that could come, including being apologetic until he was back on your good graces
ꔛ you and reiner ended up either being runners up or the winners! america couldn’t get enough of this big softie who had so much admiration and respect for his couple. he didn’t mind the results, he was just ready to get out the villa and make everything official with you <3
꒰ JEAN KIRSTEIN ꒱
ꔛ at first, america wasn’t really a fan of jean, just like with eren. came off a bit conceited but that ddin’t stop anyone to explore jean and they very much didn’t regret it
ꔛ I would say jean is also an og who quickly hit it off with the guys. some of the girls, not as quick or not as close as he wished to be. there was one person whom he wished he hit it off but it just couldn’t click for a period of time (you)
ꔛ it kinda hurt jean a bit that you guys didn’t get along romantically but it didn’t stop him from wanting to explore you with every chance he got. he’d pull you for chats, do small, romantic gestures, anything to get you
ꔛ even as he was coupled up, he made it clear that he was still open until the recoupling where the boys chose. oh jean was elated to be ready to pick you, his speech was so pretty and emphasized his growing crush on you
ꔛ as episodes passed on, they realized how much of a sweetheart jean is. his recoupling speeches were always thought out and held nothing back. he also made it a habit to kiss your cheek every time you guys recoupled
ꔛ there was a time where a bombshell stole jean and he did explore her. however, that was short filled and fizzled into just friends, mans was just too stuck on you
ꔛ mannnn, casa amor, oh casa amor. he didn’t mind going to casa, as he approached it with the mindset that he was just testing yall relationship, right? wrong! those three days lead to jean explore in a way that even he didn’t expect out of him. it’s not that he didn’t care about his couple but he sure tricked himself into that he was testing himself and boy did he fail!!!
ꔛ to make things worse than he already is, he brought a girl back like wtf. as you stood there, looking stunning waiting for jean, he brings in a girl and your heart shattered. you thought he genuinely liked you but now it seems to be a different reality of who jean is
ꔛ jean didn’t explain himself, he tried to but every excuse had himself look lousy. he gave up and couldn’t even look in you the eyes. a tear trickled down on his face as he realized the the damage he has done
ꔛ time after casa, he would give you space but still pull you to tell you how sorry he is. at times, he would ditch his chosen casa girl to apologize and show how sorry he is. additionally, he was quick to cut things off with the girl which didn’t end well…
ꔛ you would question if he was being genuine and did he ever think about you during casa. he said he did and he completely regrets casa for even existing. he spent days upon days to show remorse for what he has done. he didn’t need to and shouldn’t have tested yall connection just to prove something to himself, and he knew that
ꔛ he started to lose faith that he might lose you forever, around the villa sulking and being lowly. even as the boys encouraged him, he couldn’t bear to accept their advice and would instead go to your friends to figure out what to do
ꔛ you did take him back after one night where yall sat in soul ties and he explained how heavy his heart felt from potentially losing you, sighs coming out when he saw that your doesn’t light up when you see him, or how you would dump him and be with another man. it was a hefty speech that that included extreme emotions, ‘I miss you’, ‘please take me back’, lengthy explanations on why you’re the one he wants and not the other girl, how he would change for himself and you. he’s saying anything so you could take him back and thankfully it worked in his favor
ꔛ in the end, jean ended up in third place :). he enjoyed his time in the villa and felt like he came out as better person, to himself and to you. after the villa, you guys continued to grow what you had and became official in the way of a beautiful picnic and a heartfelt love letter

Hey do you have any platonic Headcanons for Reiner,Mikasa, and Armin?
a/n: RAGHHH IM SO SORRY I DIDNT SEE THE REQUEST EARLIER!!!! I DIDNT GET A NOTIF— anyways brother elliot shall provide once more >:) (this is like season 1-2 so no spoilers).
pairing: Reiner x gn!reader ; Mikasa x gn!reader ; Armin x gn!reader.
fandom: AOT (Attack on Titan).
genre: Fluff, headcanons.
! WARNING ! : N/A. (it's sfw pookies)
─────────────────────────────
Reiner Braun.
Man is FLEXING his ass off when you're around.
Anything he thinks you might like? He's showing it off. Whether it be leadership skills (which he barely has) or muscles (okay he does have those), HE'S SHOWING OFF.
He likes to get your attention through random stuff such as constant poking or annoying you.
Since you're close to Reiner, he talks a lot about you to his friends Annie and Bertholdt.
Bertie likes you, although Annie keeps her distance. It's not that she doesn't like you, it's just that she's a loner and wants to keep it that way.
He probably follows you around during missions to make sure you're safe.
He's like a golden retriever off the field, but on the field, he's the most protective mf you can ever meet.
The second a titan reaches out to grab you, boom, he's slicing the titan's hand off.
If the mission proves to be easy with few dangers nearby, you and him have little contest like 'who kills more titans' and such.
He doesn't want to admit it, but he lets you win almost every time, blaming it on his gear for being this rusty.
You usually stay up past your curfew and watch the stars.
During this time you don't talk a lot, merely enjoying eachothers presence.
He's usually acting like an older brother, but sometimes you have to be the mature one and step in between fights he's about to start (somebody looked at you wrong).
Super supportive, literally the main cheerleader as you kick somebody's ass during training.
You and him have sparring sessions and he teaches you useful information about hand-to-hand combat!
He'd be a good teacher if he wouldn't be teasing you so much.
"Look at you, you're so fragile, you could never take me down!" were his last words before you kicked his ass.
He was shocked, he didn't expect you to ACTUALLY win the fight.
Nevertheless he's proud of you >:)
Mikasa Ackerman.
She firstly heard about you through Armin, telling her and Eren about how he made a new friend.
She was skeptical at first, thinking you were actually someone mean who just tried to get advantage of her blond friend.
But upon meeting you, she quickly changed her mind.
Mikasa is usually quiet and is always following Eren around, so the two of you don't really get some time alone.
But Armin told you she considers you a good friend of hers!
You're a feisty fellow, so she has to make sure you don't get in trouble aswell (as if she needed another Eren to take care of).
Being the mother friend of the group, she has to make sure nobody gets hurt, so she keeps you, Armin and Eren close when in missions.
Always on alert, she's ready to lash out at anyone who does you wrong.
One time a rookie spoke lowly of you behind your back. Mikasa found out, said she was going to take care of it, and you never saw that rookie again.
It's scary what she's willing to do to protect her loved ones, but it only makes you realize she is a good person deep down.
Honestly you're closer to Armin than her, but she doesn't mind that, since it gives her and Eren some alone time (nothing happens in this time, but she likes it when it's just her and Eren hanging around).
Not really good with praises, but will congratulate you after missions, saying you did a good job before walking away.
Armin Arlert.
If you're close to him, you're ultimately close to Eren and Mikasa too.
He likes to talk to you about facts he's learned from books and he's genuinely happy you listen to him (unlike a certain SOMEONE who has brown hair and teal eyes glares at Eren).
You had to rescue him a couple times from bullies. Because of that, you tried to teach him how to defend himself, although he believed this wasn't the right way.
He probably shows off every new item he found. It's mainly cool rocks or shards of glass bottles, but the way he's presenting them makes the trinkets look like some ancient relics.
He is a great listener and offers good advice where he can.
Most of the time he's shy so you have to speak up for him, he's really thankful you do that for him.
Armin's parents like you a lot, especially since you help out Armin so much. They tell you stuff about Armin which makes him embarrassed and blush.
You know the song 'To the Bone' about Undertale?
Well there's this one part saying "I am the Mastermind, he's my accomplice!"
Yeah that's Armin, and you're "You're still alive because I made a promise."
You guys are a great duo, fighting off titans together (although you end up eliminating most of them since Armin is a bit rusty on his skills, he's learning tho!) during missions and such.
He probably tells you all about the wonders of the ocean he's learned from his little book, it gets you as excited as him and it makes him feel as if he doesn't just let the information fall on deaf ears.
He thinks you're a strong, independent person and admires you for that.
He's the orange cat friend and you're the doberman friend. You can't convince me otherwise.

TROPETEMBER 2: "Second Chance at Love"
♡ 𝘙𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘶𝘯 𝘹 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳
pov : second person, no specified pronouns, no physical description; ~modern AU Attack on Titan ☆ rating + tags: SFW: rated PG13 for implied mature situations and alcohol; second chances, fluff, mild angst, mild hurt / comfort, mild friends to lovers ☆ word count: ~2.9k ☆ ao3
After the breakup, you spent much of your time thinking not of your ex, but of Reiner Braun. Maybe so precisely because he wasn’t your ex, he never could be. It wasn’t only because you’d never dated. Rather, the “never dating” was so peculiar that unlike any other situationship that would still be given the “ex” label out of convenience, it felt almost sacrilegious to mar Reiner with the title.
“We just… had a weird thing,” is the best way you can explain it to friends made in years past, ever since you’d been the one to abruptly sever ties when the new relationship began.
They bat their lashes across cafe tables or send exclamation points through the text messages hovering on your screen as you wind through the story.
“But did you…” they inevitably say. “You know.”
“Not – no,” you say reluctantly. “But – almost. Several times.”
The anniversary of one of those almost times has just passed. You were acutely aware of it, in a way that came more innocuously than the daily dance your fingers take across Instagram to check his profile for new posts, to check any stories you’d shared, to check if he’d viewed. Those actions are intentional. In contrast, you hadn’t initially meant to remember this particular story. You’d just come across that one song when you shuffled through your playlists, the song that made you stop in your tracks as, rather than your front door on your way out of the home, a highway rose in front of your eyes.
Reiner was driving, fingers thick on the steering wheel, eyes honey-colored as he squinted into the sunset. The passenger seat was uncomfortably plush, your knees drawn together and one foot bouncing against the floor. He was going a little fast, his shoulder muscles curved carvings in the dim light that pushed his posture further. He was sitting up, higher, closer and closer to the wheel.
And he was younger, as you were; a good seven years younger than in the present moment your hand paused on your headphones.
The song changed.
“This is a great one,” Reiner had just said, and it was because you had been talking about the artist already.
“But have you heard  the last one on the album? With, uh…”
Reiner’s eyebrows jumped, golden wires knit across his forehead, and he interrupted you with the name of the featured artist. “Sorry,” he added.
“Yes,” you said with a purr in your voice, not even minding the interruption.
“It’s good,” Reiner said in his diplomatic, thoughtful way. “But it’s not my favorite. I don’t think it’s either of them at their best.”
“No way,” you said. You remember that drive to your home, and the part of that conversation where you insisted that this song was “really good, actually.” And you’d kept that opinion, and through the years, when that song popped up, you kept thinking of what else you’d say to Reiner if you could go back to that moment. In the last few months, you’ve noticed that if you link songs to your social media posts, and you later check his streaming music, he’s listened to those artists and added those songs to the playlists. You wonder, when you post that artist from that discussion, if he holds the memory the same way you do.
But more than the memory of the music is the subsequent memory. Reiner hadn’t driven you straight home. There was a parking lot behind the local ballet studio, where he had pulled off, and where you two had sat for a moment without words.
The car filled with the earthy smell of him, the sour smell of alcohol still beating from your mouth, and when his eyes turned to you, your gaze must have been glassy back at him. The two of you had unbuckled at some point, must have, because you leaned into each other so easily. His hand cupped at the back of your head. The kiss had the remnants of the tipsy afternoon, something still giving enough courage for you to twist your fingers into his shirt and pull him closer.
“You’re still drunk,” Reiner said softly, kissing the side of your cheek.
“No,” you said, and meant it. “If I’m drunk, then you are too, and you shouldn’t have driven.”
“Stop arguing. I’m trying to think of reasons to be a good person right now,” Reiner said, and his thumb stroked under your ear.
“I don’t want you to be a good person,” you’d said in petulance.
“Someone has to be,” Reiner said.
His fidgeting betrayed his words.
“But what about this is bad?”
“The location,” Reiner said, and as you rolled your shoulders back, opening your body to him, his hand skated down your neck, over your chest, further down. “People could come out.”
“Where else is there?”
“I don’t know,” Reiner admitted in a thick voice.
“Can we go to your house?”
“Can’t,” Reiner said as his fingers roamed. “My cousin’s family’s visiting.”
His hand turned on the fabric, your skin waiting and beating beneath for him to touch you, and that’s when the back door to the studio opened and two instructors came out. They were barking at each other, not noticing the car stalled so close with two hot-blooded young adults palming each other’s bodies, but it lurched you into panic.
“Stop,” you hissed at Reiner, and sat up in a frenzy. His hand took a moment to draw away, and his breath was labored as he started the car.
“What if they saw?”
“They didn’t,” Reiner had insisted, and he reached to cup his hand around your thigh as he drove out of the lot. You’d muttered something, mollified enough, and turned your hips into the seat as he kept massaging his grip higher. But you were left burning and touchless when he dropped you off, the two of you unable to find another place to park and give into desire.
This happened time and time again.
You especially think of that late summer night behind the ballet studio, and the other close encounters peppered across your hometown, whenever you pass it on a weekend trip to see your family.
“I’m worried about you,” your best friend says slowly through the speakerphone as you drive into the town this evening.
“What do you mean?”
“Have you dated anyone since the breakup?”
“I’m fine,” you say, rolling eyes unseen.
“Stalking Reiner’s accounts doesn’t count, you know. As seeing someone.”
“I’m not interested in seeing anyone,” you say, flicking the turn signal with irritation.
“Yeah, because you’re only interested in Reiner.”
It smarts, somehow, to hear out loud from another voice. “I’m not,” you say. The lie feels instinctual and wrong at the same time – because that’s how you realize it is a lie. “It’s just – I mean, I’ve told you, right?”
Of course you have. All of your friends know, either as updates to the Reiner story, or as earnest details shared in the first telling, that he’s been viewing your posts, interacting with them just shy of personal comments. That he streams the songs you share – “the exact same.”
“Am I – like, am I being delusional?” you always check, and they always give an emphatic no that could just be kind.
“Do you even know where he is?” the voice on the phone continues. “Is he in town?”
“I think at some point over the last year he went back to Marley. For his family, his mom’s side is all there. At least that’s what I think, that’s what I saw over summer.”
Reiner had said four or five years ago that you, and, as a sidenote, a handful of friends, were the only reasons he ever came back. If you go to another social media website, something abandoned for years by yourself and your generation, and scroll through messages reaching back near to a decade, you’d find the sentiment memorialized among other sweetnesses too painful to read now.
“I’m going to stop,” you’ve said to yourself before at night, when the camera angles have been exhausted and no lighting is flattering or natural enough to add a personal touch to some screenshot shared to the close friends story really meant for Reiner’s eyes. “I’m going to take him off the close friends list, I’m going to stop posting for him. I’m going to stop looking at his music. I’m stopping.”
And in the morning, there’s the notification that Reiner has liked your post.
“Should I try actually reaching out to him again?” you say again and again to your friends, and echo it now.
“What’s the last thing you sent him, again?”
You drum your fingers anxiously. “I said ‘happy birthday.’ And that was it, I just remembered it was his birthday. But he read it and didn’t respond.”
There’s always a pursed lip, a sad shake of the head, a sympathy in the eyes. “I wouldn’t. I think the ball is in his court.”
You know this. It’s a knowledge that burns even as the conversation shifts, as you head up the hill and eventually hang up the phone before turning into the driveway. You’ve known this since you first reached out with hesitance after this breakup, and sent the first message to mend the bridge.
“I’m sorry I cut you out of my life when I was in that relationship,” you’d written to Reiner when you unblocked him. “You’ve been someone so important to me for years and years, regardless of how that’s looked or where you’ve been or where I’ve been. I understand if you’d rather leave things as they are now. I just hope you’ve been well.”
And I miss you, you wish you’d clearly added, because for all the views and likes, Reiner has only ever said one thing to you in these months since the breakup, one sentence to haunt you:
“I guess I was important enough to get blocked.”
Of course he was important enough to get blocked so that you could focus desperately on the relationship at hand. It was a relationship you’d tried to make yourself believe was meant to be forever, was worth more than the chance of Reiner. The months since have proven it a lie.
“You hurt him,” is what one friend said once, and you hadn’t expected that harsh truth to cut so much.
You pace in your parents’ house for the afternoon and the following morning, the hallways small and closing in. The steps don’t shake Reiner from your mind.
“I’m going to get coffee,” you say to your mother, who waves her hand absently.
You park further away in the lot, the ballet studio innocuous at the end of the shopping plaza. Pulling in here, by the post office and gym, a casual visitor wouldn’t even know that there were more parking spaces hidden beyond, where you and Reiner had parked before.
“Cut it out,” you mutter in self-admonishment.
There are a few cars looping around the lot this lazy morning. You cut across the asphalt as you make your way to the concrete island where the coffee shop hums with mild activity. A black Jeep turns, lurches slowly over the speedbump, and jerks again as it stops to let you pass. You raise your hand, a brief glance to your right in grateful apology.
And your stomach drops as you recognize the face behind the windshield.
You were wrong. Reiner isn’t with his family in Marley anymore.
Reiner is beautiful. It’s something you’ve always thought over the years, a beauty that chiseled firmer into his features rather than hardening over as he grew into the structure of his firm jaw and arched nose. Something in his blonde hair is darkening, silvers creeping in at the roots. And as you freeze with a foot on the curb, every shadow painted across his face as he stares back through the window, you can see the gaunt age starting to pull below his cheekbones and press crow’s feet into the side of his eyes. He looks older than the last time you’d seen him in person three years ago, and the palm muscles of your hands cramp as you wonder how he views you in turn.
He’s still beautiful.
Your blood is ice, even as your breath is too hot. Your head is dizzy. It feels like minutes have passed, but it’s been mere moments, all simultaneous and infinite. His car keeps rolling forward. You step up on the curb. Your feet are still heading towards the coffee shop as if relying on autopilot, but your hands have jumped up, hovering over your phone screen. You need to document this moment, to tell your friends a new chapter in this aching, never-ending saga of yearning for Reiner as he ignores you.
And then your name comes across the lot.
You turn, looking for that black car, and Reiner’s pulled it at an angle into a spot. He’s clambering out of the driver’s seat, his eyes wide.
He isn’t ignoring you now.
“Oh my god,” you say with a slacked jaw.
Reiner must have come from the gym. He’s wearing long shorts and a navy blue shirt dappled with sweat. It strings through his hair and shines on his throat.
The two of you stare at each other. You want to reach for him, and his hands waver in turn, forearms tense as he holds his car keys.
You’re afraid that if you touch him, he’ll vanish.
“Hi,” you say, and the word is thick with a waterfall of tangled emotion.
“Hi,” Reiner echoes.
He’s taller than you remembered seeing him before, on the last hike you’d taken together before you moved out of town and immediately met the person who is now your ex. Maybe he’s carrying himself with more confidence, maybe he’s worked on his posture. You straighten your spine in subconscious response.
“What are you doing here?” you ask. “I – um. I thought I saw some…”
Reiner watches you as your lips twist, as you try not to say, “I’ve remembered everything you’ve posted and I remember the location your cousin tagged you in for this parade a few months ago...”
“Didn’t you go back to Marley?” you say at last.
“My mom’s back here,” Reiner says. “We’re taking care of my younger cousin, she’s going to go to high school here. And I always liked it better here than Marley.”
You remember the words he’d said about you being the reason to stay in this town, and say silent.
“But anywhere’s better than Marley,” Reiner says, as if he’s reading your mind. God, you want to cry at how naturally you two fall back into this instinctual dynamic. “I don’t know how long I plan on staying around, but I don’t think I’ll move back there.”
“Going to travel the world again?”
You remember that too, the summer his best friend died, and he dropped out of the college he had been attending to go find himself abroad two continents away. How he had called you in forests and bars. And how you had moved the opposite direction for a while, and your phone conversations stretched for hours across foreign time zones.
“Maybe. I could say all the same for you,” Reiner says. “What are you doing back?”
“I see my parents sometimes. I’m not too far.”
Both of you hesitate. The small talk is painful.
“I was going to head in,” you continue at last, gesturing with your still-unlocked phone gleaming in your hand. “Do you want to get a coffee? I… I would love the chance to catch up with you.”
Reiner’s eyes are warm, comforting, like tea, and your words keep spilling.
“I think I have a lot I’d like to say to you.”
I’m sorry. That’s all that’s important.
“I know,” Reiner says. His lips waver, as if he’s struggling with the same entanglement you are. “I have a lot I’ve been wanting to tell you, too.”
“You could have texted back,” you say, trying not to sound bitter.
“I know,” Reiner says again. He smiles, and it looks crooked and sad. “I think you’ve always had more of a way with words than I have, though.”
“You could have called,” you say and wonder if he’s thinking of the times you are, when you were a continent away and in a different relationship where you and Reiner would still talk on the phone until it was four in your morning.
“I wanted to,” Reiner says slowly. “But, you know. It’s been a while.”
“It has been.”
There’s so much to say in those years of silence. You want to grab his hands and tell him you love him, that you’ve always loved him, for years and years and across oceans and cities. Even when it came in platonic waves, even when it was familial – you have always loved Reiner Braun.
“There’s a lot to say. But I have the time,” you say, half-turning your body again to the coffee shop, half-leaning into him, so afraid that if you look away, he’ll disappear.
Reiner nods.
“Okay,” he says, and his eyes break in that new pattern of crow’s feet as he smiles. You recognize this smile, a smile you’ve seen for years, and years, and years – years to come.
It’s what makes you open your arms, as he steps closer at last. Each slight shadow of freckle across his cheekbones is real, the familiar earthy smell of him, and his body is firm, warm, when you wrap your arms around him. Reiner’s hug back encloses your body into his. It’s a perfect fit. You’ve known it always has been.

Someone To Love|Part 2|Reiner x Jealous Reader
Tumblr media
(A/N: It's kind of nice and out of my normal style to write a much more wholesome romance, but I can't say I dislike it. You gotta have the fluff with your angst. And since this is going with yandere Levi it's good to have a bit of a change of pace. Comment to be added to the taglist!)
WARNINGS: implied nsfw, depression, attempted suicide, violence, general angst, slowburn, lowkey love triangle with a happy ending, not a warning but Reiner calls you nicknames instead of y/n (because I personally can't stand it)
==============================================
It felt like the air had been knocked out of her lungs.
"An Island Devil?"
"I know, it's crazy, trust me I already know that. Especially after everything they did to Bertholdt and Annie. I don't know, I just feel...good about myself and safe around her."
She clears her throat, trying to keep the wad of emotion down in her chest so it doesn't spill out all at once. "And you say her name is Evelyn? I..uhm- tell me about her-"
Reiner leans back with a shy smile. "Well for starters she's short, really short, but she's also fun, and super sweet, an impressive fighter, and pretty on top of that. Like the ultimate package."
"How did you meet her?"
"When I was under cover she was one of the Scout officers, I didn't get to see a whole lot of her since she was part of Captain Levi's squad, but still. As far as Island Devils go she's one of the sweetest people I've ever met."
"Does she know who you are?"
Now Reiner frowns, apparently a sore spot for him. "Yes she does, when we fled I exposed who I was to her...and she said she hated me."
She tries to hide her relief with a deep breath, it wouldn't help anything to outwardly show how glad she was of that.
"So you'll never see her again."
"Until we return to Paradis to reclaim the Founder it seems unlikely." His mood changed, his tone becoming more and more depressed.
"That's too bad. She sounds wonderful."
"Yeah...she was." Reiner rests his elbow on the table, staring into the wooden pattern. "By now she's probably married off to Captain Levi, no screw that, why should I respect him with a title, to Levi."
"Who's Levi?" She didn't know who he was but if he was able to give Reiner closure with this unattainable crush she'd be thankful to him.
"Selfish bastard. Captain of the Survey Corps and man does he abuse that. Always unfairly punishing everyone and demanding respect." He shakes his head. "Creep watched Evelyn like some kind of sick stalker. There were many times I got punished for being anywhere near her. Asshole."
"Maybe you just didn't understand their dynamic?"
"Impossible, it was so obvious he was sick in the head. But no one saw it but me."
Bravely she reaches out to touch his hand. "It'll be okay Reiner, you can move on now. Forget about what happened their and live the rest of your life in peace."
"The rest of my life." He scoffs. "What short time I have left."
The thought made her wince, but he had a point. If she didn't try harder he'd be killed and they'd never have that life she dreamed of, even if it was for a short time.
"That's why you need to make the most of it."
Reiner nods, taking in her words. "You're right, sitting here sulking over what could have been won't get me anything but wasted time." A smile comes to his face. "Thanks kid, you always make me believe in myself."
She blushed a little at the nickname, even after all of this he still saw her as the same girl from their childhood. "No problem, you're my friend and I want to help you."
Reiner's face turns solemn again but before he can speak his mind a soldier comes up to their table.
"Reiner Braun, Commander Magath has sent for you."
"Right now? Is it urgent?"
"He said to come right away."
Reiner offers an apologetic glance before standing and hurrying to follow the young soldier, leaving her alone.
She couldn't put her finger on it, but she had a bad feeling about all of this.

Attack on Titan ~Characters with a reader who brings all the dead back to life and rules the world~
Manga/anime: Attack on Titan
Warnings: spoilers of all the dead
Requested by: @happybunny999
Eren loves you very much, not only because you were able to bring his parents back to life, but also because you helped him to control his powers. He'll appreciate you reviving everyone he kills: he'll feel slightly better. Plus, when he comes back to life, he'll love trying to make up for all the mistakes and crimes he committed and he'll continue to thank you.
Armin understands why you save everyone without distinction, and he appreciates you so much for it. He'll feel very happy when you save Bertholdt and Erwin, since he'll no longer feel the weight of their deaths on him, and Eren. He hope one day you won't have to resurrect anyone anymore.
Mikasa appreciated you when you brought her parents back to life, but she'll appreciate you even more after you resurrect Eren. However, at first she hated you because you also resurrected her enemies. She didn't understand why you did it, and she was one of those who were against allowing you to act freely: she believed you needed to be carefully monitored.
Jean thought Marco was one of the unjustly dead, so, after you brought him back to life, he literally ran to hug you and burst into tears. Now he's at your complete disposal: do you need help? He's there for you. Do you need a shoulder to cry on? He's there. Do you need something? You'll have it right away.
Sasha's closest relatives aren't dead, so she doesn't have some sort of "debt" to you, like most soldiers. However, she still values you very much, especially since you don't think of yourself as better for your power and you don't treat others with superiority. She acts with more bravado because she knows you'll always save her.
Connie and his family are grateful to you: you saved their entire family! Whenever he can, he invites you to eat with him as thanks, because he thinks it's the only thing he can do for you and because his little siblings adore you and ask a lot of you. Like Sasha, he acts with more bravado ("Even if I die, she'll save me!").
Ymir doesn't care about you: she doesn't care who you save, as she's uninterested in anything but Historia. However, she'll appreciate you brought her back to life because then she'll be able to spend more time with her beloved.
Historia feels safe when you're on her team during expeditions because she knows no matter what happens, you'll save everyone. However, she made you promise you wouldn't save her if she died, but she'll change her mind after you bring Ymir back to life. When she becomes queen, she'll want you by her side, but she'll also let you go on expeditions to save soldiers.
Annie considered you dangerous: she never cared about anything other than fighting, so she didn't understand the reason for resurrecting the dead. Furthermore, she had seen the influence you had on others, and she therefore feared at some point you might change her goals. However, after she has grown fond of some of her companions (Armin), she'll appreciate you, especially when she discovers you've brought her dead warrior companions back to life.
Reiner always felt the full weight of his actions, which led to the death of many innocent people, so, after you resurrected everyone, he felt lighter and better. However, like Annie, he had noticed being around you was making him softer, so he always tried to stay away from you. Nevertheless, after Eren's "death", he'll appreciate you for all the lives you saved, and he'll thank you for saving his comrades, especially Marcel and Porko.
Unlike his two friends, Bertholdt loved you very much from your first meeting: according to him you were a sort of goddess, not only because of your very powerful and beautiful power, but also because of your humble and sweet character, which led you to save them, the enemies, too.
When you brought Furlan, Isabel and his mother back to life, Levi was shocked: he was a mixture of happiness and disbelief; he ran to you and hugged you tightly, crying slightly. Now he has officially become your bodyguard: he'll always protect you, even dying for you (you'll resurrect him anyway).
Hange loves, loves being with you and asking you questions about your power: they're very interested in knowing its exact workings and scope and limits. They love your kindness, even if they had previously told you they would have preferred you didn't save all the enemies, but you had very kindly made them understand how everyone is innocent in that world.
For Erwin, you're a very important resource, even more than Eren, not only because you bring people back to life, but also because of your knowledge. He'll appreciate very much you resurrected his father, whose death he always blamed himself and whose burden he always felt, and himself, because in this way he'll be able to satisfy his greatest desire, that of seeing the cellar of Eren's house.
Falco burst into tears when you brought his brother back to life: he literally ran into your arms, crying and still thanking you. He already appreciated you before, since your name had already spread in Marley with the warriors' return, but now his respect for you has skyrocketed. He wants to spend as much time as possible with you, asking you questions and being "pampered" by you.
Porko was shocked when he found his brother alive, telling him he had been brought back to life by a girl, in front of him. That day he promised himself he would find you and thank you properly, even if you were with the enemy. So he did: after being devoured by Falco and brought back to life by you, he went to you and thanked you (although with quite a bit of difficulty) both on his own behalf and that of his brother.
Thanks to you, Zeke met his father, who had expressed the desire to be able to make peace with his eldest son, again, and he was also able to see again what he considered his father: Xaver. He feels grateful to you, because he managed to make peace with his real father and his half-brother, and he also promised you he'll do anything to pay off what he considers his debt to you.
Ymir Fritz sees you as a reference figure, almost like a sister. Since you've ruled the world since its dawn, she often asks you for help with her powers. Furthermore, when she's with you, she feels considered: you're the first person since the fall of her kingdom who considers her as a human being, who defends her from King Fritz.

hi, in the tags of the post about others ignoring eren's depression you said that you feel like in ch 125 he cried out for help a lot--i wonder if you meant a different chapter? 125 is the one with annie's backstory and eren isn't in it.
i'm super curious about this part of aot, to me it seems about equally as likely that someone did try to talk with him, and eren just wasn't honest, and that noone did
talking about this post
hey! you’re right, it’s chapter 123. excuse me for the long reply but here we go
Tumblr media
I think Eren’s depression was emphasized in this chapter and how far along the line he was to the point of not being able to enjoy the sights they previously dreamt of
Tumblr media
at this point, Eren knew the people he would kill people, innocent people, like he once was. said himself that he’s no be better than Reiner. an absolute hypocrite, which is proven when he saves Ramzi from the bullies, knowing he’d kill him later. he’s a walking contradiction, and hates himself for it. the feeling when you’re doing something wrong, while being aware of your wrongdoings yet you can’t stop, he self destructs and is unable to deal with the guilt that follows
Tumblr media
nobody hates Eren more than himself, there’s no reason to love a monster like him, so why does she never leave his side?
Tumblr media
he believed he couldn’t be loved, because he doesn’t love himself. The concept of somcone loving him was unfathomable. We see it throughout the series, he's constantly refered to as a monster, hits deep depression in season 3 where he thinks the world would be in a better place if he was dead, felt like a burden because everyone kept blaming the scouts deaths on him. Even in s4 when he's universally referred to as a devil but no longer fights to prove otherwise. so the fact that Mikasa always wants to be close to him isn't something he understands. He needs confirmation, why does she protect him all the time? Is it because she lost her family? Since Eren himself felt undeserving
Tumblr media
Eren wasn’t being honest with them, but what depressed person is?
Tumblr media
that doesn’t mean anyone else is to blame, Eren is fully responsible for his actions and we don’t know if talking out the mess in his head would help. personally, I don’t think it would. Eren craved an empty world(that’s up for another discussion) but i still feel emphasize with his self hatred, and the fact that he self destructed to the point of (rightfully) losing the life he could’ve lived and even regretting it in his final moments. (i can go into specifics if anyone feels confused)
so, did his friends ignore the visible changes in him after kissing Historias hand? yes. it’s like Hanji said, they were too naive and Eren felt he had to act on his own, (but then again, he chose to start hiding the truth from them even before kissing her hand, in court when he realized Dina was of royal blood.) HOWEVER, i don’t think that’s relevant to the eventual outcome as i believe Eren would do the rumbling regardless, but i do think it made his sendoff a lot more heartbreaking, knowing he spent his last years, trapped in a bundle of past and ‘future’ memories, a load on his shoulders that he never burdened anyone else with and no one bothered to do something about (Mikasa tried) and yes, i am fully aware they all had their own stuff to think about. i’m not trying to blame the rumbling on them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mikasa reflected on the outcome if she had given him another answer that day, and we saw that they would’ve ran away from it all. in the cabin Eren says he couldn’t bring himself to commit genocide, that’s how we know it’s an impossible future. a desire he has but Eren wasn’t born to live a normal life. “because Eren and death, are inextricably inbound” -lost girls
he’s generally a very tragic character, which makes it hard not to feel for his humanity but there’s no ignoring the destructive part of him. sorry for reeling off but to get back to the point, i think he was very lost and that his friends ignored it until it blew he became someone that couldn’t be saved, but in the end it might’ve not mattered. “you can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved”
thanks for reading!
(since i can’t add any more panels i’ll reblog with the ones i want to share)

"Don't move! I'll shoot!"
Staring up at the trembling soldier at the top of the stairs who had a rifle pointed in her face, Vera almost laughed. It was clear this cadet had never fired a shot in his entire life and he wasn't about to start now.
"This area is under the authority of the Jaegerists. I can't allow you to-"
The cadet was cut off when Jean grabbed him hard by the front of his shirt. "Stand down, cadet. You idiots are doing this in Eren's name, aren't you? You want to stop us from saving his life?"
Nervous sweat dripped down the cadet's forehead. "No."
Pushing past the two, Connie ascended the remainder of the staircase to where the remaining armed Jaegerists were waiting. "Open all these cells right now!"
After explaining that they were no longer against the Jaegerists—and that they were all working toward the shared goal of Eren's survival—the cadets freed the droves of Military Police they had imprisoned.
Among them were Commandant Shadis and Commander Pyxis.
"Commander Pyxis," Armin greeted the well-respected man. "Are you okay?"
"Well, I haven't turned senile quite yet. But I've been better," Pyxis replied. "My drinking habit's catching up with me."
Vera didn't miss the sly reference to the fact that he had drank the tainted wine. She wasn't surprised though. By then, most of the higher-ups and important people behind the walls had.
Once Commander Pyxis had been filled in on the plan to fight alongside Eren and the Jaegerists in order to defeat the Marleyan forces, soldiers from all regiments rallied together for the cause.
"Everybody, listen up," Pyxis regarded the room of men and women before him. "We don't have enough ODM gear on hand to get all of you equipped. Outfitting all soldiers without black armbands is priority one. As for those of you who happily partook in our enemy's wine, you'll be with me. We're going to drive the invaders of Paradis back."
"Yes, sir!" the room chorused.
Vera took stock of how many soldiers standing around her were wearing black armbands and couldn't help but notice the parallels between them and the red armbands Marley forced Eldians to wear.
Once again, there was a divide.
Suiting up in the ODM gear she hadn't worn in well over four years, Vera felt a faint but familiar sensation as the cold metal of the contraption pressed against her lower back. Briefly, she wondered if she was about to face a heavy re-learning curve or if the movements that had been trained into the very fibres of her muscles remained.
"Did you miss it?" Armin approached Vera.
Vera tightened the straps of her harness and grabbed a rifle of her own. "I don't know if 'miss' is the right word," she answered. "It certainly feels right though, like I am supposed to wear this gear."
"It's been upgraded quite a bit since you've last worn it." Armin helped her secure her elbow and knee pads—one of the many new additions. "But it functions basically the same."
"A lot has been upgraded around here while I was gone. A lot has changed."
Armin sensed the change of tone, not that Vera had been trying particularly hard to hide it. "You're upset we're siding with Eren."
"No." Vera shook her head, and that much was true; at least in the sense that she wanted to do whatever it took to prevent Eren's death. "I just wish there was another way."
"I know. I do too," Armin said. "And I hope you know I'm not trying to excuse what he did to you. Eren had made a lot of mistakes. I just don't think he deserves to die for them."
"I don't either," Vera agreed. "I just wish his survival didn't mean the deaths of others."
A characteristically soft smile played at the corner of Armin's mouth. "You mean Reiner."
"I mean lots of people. Reiner, Pieck, Porco, Colt, Gabi, Falco. Even Zeke, to a certain extent." Vera's gaze shifted to the floor and she lowered her voice. "I know saying all of this makes me sound like a traitor. Maybe I'm just destined to be a middle-man, forever incapable of choosing a side. I wish I could dedicate my loyalty as fiercely and as un-wavering as you."
"I think that makes you a better soldier," Armin told her. "You're one of the few people in this war able to understand both sides; maybe the only person. That makes you invaluable."
Vera drew in a shaky breath. "You think so?"
"I do." Armin rested a calm but firm hand on her shoulder. "It means, whatever the outcome, a part of you will win."
Vera finally lifted her head and met Armin's gaze. "It also means a part of me will lose."
"After this, I think a part of everyone will lose."
Finally ready to depart, Vera and Armin joined the others and made their way to the roof of the capitol building. As soon as they did, they were hit face-first with a wave of pure destruction.
Above them, the five Marleyan airships were on fire, quickly gaining speed as they nose-dived toward the ground. Vera watched in shock as one by one they collided with the streets and buildings of Mitras and exploded into bright, blinding balls of fire and smoke.
"The gate to Shiganshina. They blocked it." Jean was the first to notice the suspiciously accurate place three of the five airships had crashed in.
"Zeke has destroyed Marley's aerial fleet." Yelena stood on the ledge of the building, arms spread wide as she basked in the turning tides of battle. Beyond her, the Beast Titan stood atop wall Sina, as menacing as the day Vera first laid eyes on him. "The moment has finally arrived. History is about to be written."
At the mere sight of the Beast Titan, Vera felt her muscles tense on instinct. Balling her hands into fists, she tried not to dwell too long on what Zeke had done to Levi. He didn't deserve to evoke this sort of reaction from her.
On the ground below, Eren's Titan was slowly but surely limping toward the Beast Titan. Behind him, the Armoured Titan was quickly approaching, but before it could catch up it was downed by a large projectile. Vera and the others had seen this tactic before, and as the Beast Titan grabbed for another handful of rubble to throw, it was clear to see it was working just as well now as it did in the past.
Chunks of concrete and splinters of wood took flight all around Mitras with every pebble Zeke threw. The city people once called home was quickly becoming nothing more than a battleground for the Titans.
"So, from what I can see, Eren's doing just fine," Connie remarked. "It's Reiner that needs help."
"What the hell?" Jean couldn't pry his eyes away from the Beast Titan. "Zeke's here. But how? Captain Levi wouldn't have released him for anything. There's no way!"
Vera hung her head. "He didn't release him."
Jean gasped. "But Levi ... Hange ... they aren't ... are they?"
Before Vera had the chance to assure her friends of Levi and Hange's survival, Yelena answered first. "I think this means we can assume Zeke defeated them. He promised to meet Eren here and so that's what he did. No one could have made him break his vow."
"They're not dead!" Vera roared, grabbing at the handle of her blade. "You Jaegerists tried to kill them, that much is true! You tried to kill me too. But just like me, they're both alive and well."
Armin, Mikasa, Jean, and Connie all breathed a sigh of relief. "You're sure they're not dead?" Jean confirmed.
"Positive. I was with them before I came back. They're both fine." Vera didn't feel like mentioning the severity of Levi's injuries; she didn't want to give Yelena the satisfaction.
Armin could sense the shift in emotions. "This doesn't change the situation." He tried to steer everyone back toward to task at hand. "Only Zeke and Eren can save the world right now. The sad fact is that we're out of options. We have to help the Jaegerists unite them!"
As Armin rallied his friends, Yelena approached him from behind. Her glare was intense, dark eyes piercing the back of his head. Sensing her presence, Armin slowly looked back over his shoulder and swallowed hard. Before anything got out of hand, however, Yelena's cold eyes softened and she smiled. "Please help Eren and Zeke the best you can. I trust you, Armin."
With that, the group of five took to the sky.
As soon as Vera felt the pull of her ODM tethers beckoning her toward the nearest building, muscle memory kicked in. With the advancements made over the years, she had to fine-tune her reactions a little to adapt to the smoother machinery, but in the end, it felt like she had never taken a break from using the gear at all.
With the wind in her hair once again, Vera felt a surge of adrenaline course through her veins. When she landed on a nearby rooftop to take cover from the flying Marleyan bullets, she felt as if a piece of her had been returned.
"It's no use. There's too many." Jean peered over the crest of the roof at the lines of enemy heads peeking up from the buildings across the street. "We can't get to Eren."
A couple of streets over, Eren's Titan continued to lumber its way in Zeke's direction.
In a flash, Porco's Jaw Titan bounced off the roof Vera and the others were camped out on. Bounding from building to building, it deftly made its way closer and closer to Eren. The Beast Titan put a stop to his pursuit swiftly with another well-aimed boulder.
"Eren, we're so close." The Beast Titan's voice echoed through Mitras. "A few more steps and we'll have made our dream come true. Just keep moving."
Then, in an unlikely turn of events, a sharp bang filled Vera's ears. When the Beast Titan doubled over after being hit in the nape of the neck, Vera followed the sound with her eyes to see what appeared to be the remains of the Cart Titan stationed farther along wall Sina. Loaded onto the back of the Titan's skeleton was the infamous Panzer Unit's artillery.
Vera watched with wide eyes and bated breath as the Beast Titan toppled over the edge of the wall and sped toward the ground. The impact was heard throughout the entirety of the area encompassed by wall Sina.
Still, Eren's Titan limped on. Nothing was going to stop him in his pursuit to reach Zeke, not even when the Jaw Titan sunk its teeth into his calf. With hardened, crystallized fists, Eren pounded the Jaw Titan into oblivion.
Then the second shot came, and it pierced Eren's Titan right through the head.
"The Cart Titan is still up!" Armin pointed to the top of the wall where Pieck and her Panzer Unit had regrouped. "We can't win this fight unless we deal with her."
As potshots littered the rooftop around them, the five scouts took to the air once more. Unless they dealt with the Marleyan soldiers first, they'd never make it to the Cart Titan.
"Circle around them!" Pyxis commanded from the ground. He and his remaining soldiers—all who were wearing black armbands—charged on horseback. "We'll strike the enemy from behind!"
"I think Pyxis has the right idea," Armin said after they had landed a few more buildings away. "We don't have enough firepower to risk a full frontal assault. We need to attack them from the rear."
As her friends stepped off the roof and took flight toward the houses where the Marleyan soldiers were taking cover, something out of the corner of Vera's eye caught her attention and she froze in place.
In the distance, the Beast Titan was beginning to sit up. There was a large chunk of exposed muscle in the back of its neck where the Panzer Unit's shot had hit, but it hadn't been enough to down Zeke completely.
Rising up just enough to prove to everyone that the fight was far from over, Zeke surveyed the landscape around him. The Armoured Titan was pinning Eren's Titan to the ground. The Jaw Titan was lying lifeless in the middle of the street. Colt was standing before him, pleading for his brother's life.
Vera looked down at Falco. The boy was shaking as his big brother's grip tightened on his forearm. She could remember a time when she hated his guts, watching him in the aftermath of Sasha's death. She could also remember a time she felt sympathy for him, when he had gotten some of the tainted wine in his mouth.
Falco, just like Gabi, was a product of the environment he grew up in. All he had known his whole life was hate, prejudice, and fear. Now, he was going to die believing that was the only way to live.
Zeke took one look at the mess around him—at how the tides of war had turned against his favour so suddenly—and realization sparked in the Titan's dark eyes. He looked down at Colt and Falco and then back up at Eren.
Vera swore she heard the Beast Titan mutter, "I'm sorry."
Then he screamed.
Vera dropped to her knees as the sheer force of the call rumbled the very earth. A gust of wind unlike anything nature could ever conjure blew through Mitras. When she finally found the strength to open her eyes against it, her senses were once again assaulted by columns of blinding light bursting into the sky all around her.
Everyone infected with Zeke's spinal fluid was turning into a Titan.
When the dust had settled, covering Mitras in a thick blanket of fog, Vera felt her heart still at the number of Titan heads poking up between the buildings. By the time her eyes had adjusted, the Armoured Titan was now fighting against Eren's Titan and Falco's Titan.
Falco's Titan was tall and lanky, with an abnormally long neck, round head, and wide smile. He still possessed so many child-like features, even as a monster.
As Reiner pinned Eren to the ground, Falco climbed on top and bit into the Armoured Titan's nape.
Then there was another shot. The Panzer Unit fired at Zeke's nape once more, putting him down for good this time. As they lined up their next shot at Eren, the artillery strapped to the Cart Titan's back exploded.
From the black smoke, Armin emerged. It was then that Vera realized she had been so caught up in observing the carnage around her that she had fallen behind.
Mikasa followed soon after, cutting down the Panzer Unit soldiers.
Vera's mind screamed at her to join the fight like she had come back to do—the reason why she had left Levi's side of her own volition—but her boots remained glued to the shingles beneath her. All she could do was watch as the two warring parts of her very being fought for their lives in front of her eyes.
As the Beast Titan's corpse wasted away, implying that the Founding Titan's powers couldn't be used right then, The Armoured Titan stilled. It no longer felt the need to stop Eren or ward off Falco. Reiner had given up fighting.
Vera knew in that moment what he was thinking. She didn't even need to see his human face; his yellow Titan eyes showed more than enough emotion. If he gave in and let Falco's Titan continue biting at the nape of his neck, he could pass the Armoured Titan along.
He would sacrifice himself to save Falco.
Vera knew all she had to do was call out and that the sound of her voice would be enough to convince Reiner to fight the urge to give in. He would always fight if she told him to. He would always fight for her. But in the end, he needed to fight for himself.
So Vera kept her mouth shut. If he had decided this was how he wanted to go out, she would respect his choice.
Bit by bit, the armour protecting Reiner's neck began to crumble beneath the force of Falco's teeth. As Falco's Titan opened its mouth to take one final bite, something caught its attention and it suddenly lifted its head to inspect the distraction in the street.
Surrounded by smoke and steam, with fresh blood running down the right side of his face, Porco stood in front of the skeletal remains of the Jaw Titan. Arms swaying at his sides, he willingly offered himself up as bait to save his fellow warrior.
As Falco's Titan lunged for the easier target, Porco grinned.
Vera felt a tear slide down her cheek as Porco's body slid down the Titan's throat. Eventually, someone would have to tell Natalie how the man she loved had died. She hoped they remembered to include the fact that he was smiling.
Fueled with rage, the Armoured Titan popped up and punched Eren's Titan square in the face. As soon as Reiner's fist snapped past Eren's teeth and into his mouth, Eren's Titan hardened its entire body, trapping the Armoured Titan's forearm. With Reiner stuck in place, Eren popped out of the crystallized shell and sprinted down the street toward the remains of the Beast Titan. Somewhere among the bones, Zeke had pulled a fast one on everyone and managed to stay alive.
The plan was still possible.
Before the Armoured Titan could catch Eren with its free hand, two thunderspears shot down from the sky. One pierced the Titan's hand while the other hit him in the side of the head.
Connie and Jean had joined the fight. And yet, Vera remained on the rooftop, hair gently blowing in the wind. Her eyes darted between the Armoured Titan and her friends. Up. Down. She was at war with herself. Heart. Mind.
Just meters away from Zeke now, Eren kept his eyes focused on the finish line in front of him. Just like always, he was steadfast in his determination. It was one of Eren's biggest strengths. However, it was also one of Eren's greatest weaknesses.
After all, Eren's laser focus was probably why he didn't see Gabi pointing the anti-Titan rifle at him until it was too late. By the time his green eyes were staring down the barrel of the gun, Gabi had already pulled the trigger.
The force of the blast was so great the sound was nearly deafening.
The force of the blast was so great it sent Gabi flying backward, skidding along the road.
The force of the blast was so great it shot Eren's head clean off his body.

it was three am when i got back. i had just about enough energy to kick off my shoes, and throw myself onto the bed. my memory is cloudy after watching eren leave. jean probably took me and sasha home; he always does. even with my head feeling like mush,  my mind refused to turn off; i just started at the ceiling. eren was coursing through my thoughts like the alcohol ran through my veins. i kept asking myself why i seemed to care as much as i did. it’s just the draw from having mutual friends, is all  i chalked it up to.
i flip over my phone next to me, checking the time. 5:42 it read. what the fuck? have i really just been laying here? i unzip my dress, pulling it off, before going to find a t-shirt to wear. for the first time tonight, i slip under the covers of my bed. looking toward my window, i notice it’s raining. nothing new. fall starts early in oregon.
suddenly, my mind sobers up and my thoughts become clear as day. shivers are sent down my spine, and the hair on my neck seems to stand up. i adjust my position on the bed, sitting up to fully face the window. the dark that covers the earth blocks me from getting a good view, but i can't shake the feeling there are eyes on me yet again.
the inscent blaring of my alarm woke me up just five hours later. my eyelids felt like they were glued together. today was another literature class. quickly, i threw the warm and comforting sheets off me to get dressed. honestly, the only motivation i had was the allure of eren. would he even show? with his previous track record i wasn’t sure.
did i even want to see him? after last night.. i didn’t know. his hasty absence felt like it was my fault. but how could that be? we’ve barely spoken to each other, if you could even say that. with the damp whether, i opted for an oversized hoodie and baggy jeans. before leaving the dorm, i grabbed a monster. five hours was not going to be enough after the night i had.
eren was already sitting down; in the same seat as yesterday. that’s good, right? there were a lot of empty seats, he could’ve just switched if he really wanted to. or he just didn’t care enough to. i carefully made my way up the steps, once again hyper aware of my body. overthinking is such a bitch. i pulled the chair beside him out, and he made no move. his eyes stayed trained on the front of the room.
“you were at reiner’s party,” it was more of a statement i spoke. i didn’t like his attitude towards me; but maybe he just needed to warm up to people. he briefly tipped his head in my direction, but his eyes made no contact with mine, “so were you,” his voice has lost all of the husk from yesterday. as i was about to make a snide remark, ackerman had walked into the room. still, eren didn’t seem to be in a talking mood. ever apparently.
throughout the lecture, i found myself sneaking constant glances at the boy next to me, again. instead of being tied back, his hair was down and fell around his face. but he wore the same look on his face; exhausted. eventually i tuned back into the lecture when i heard “project.”
“-- research paper on the anglo saxon’s work. you can pick any you want, but you will be doing this with a partner since i will be expecting fifteen pages minimum,” groans were heard around the classroom. i glanced over at eren, who had no change in facial expression despite the hefty assignment just given. did he already know of someone he was going to work with? fuck. i looked around the room at my classmates for the first time to scope out my options. definitely not floch, i thought as i spotted his orange hair.
when class ended, i took one more glance at eren who showed no acknowledgement towards me before making my way out of class. i decided decompressing with jean would lighten the brick in my stomach and changed directions to the dorms on the southside of campus. a few moments later, i felt a hand on my shoulder through my jacket, and turned toward it, slightly stunned. looking into my eyes were the green ones that belonged to eren. my eyes widened, and he didn’t make a move to say anything, almost as if grabbing me caught him off guard too.
“do you already have a partner?” he asked with a huff, annoyed almost. “um, no,” i responded.
“then you’ll do it with me,” he demanded with a flat tone. “your dorm or the library,” he asked but neither felt like he was granting me the option. i didn’t feel comfortable working in libraries; too many distractions which might work out well in this case. i contradicted myself by saying “dorm,” anyway. he tilted his head down in agreement, and he turned around. a few seconds later, i blinked and he was gone. i was taken aback, and fervently searched my surroundings: right, left, behind. but he was gone.
he might’ve been a total ass, but i couldn’t keep the butterflies from fluttering in my chest. there was something about him that allured me. i shook my head in an attempt to scatter the feelings. before i could start walking again, my phone went off.

the light outside slowly started to become dimmer as the sun set. jean’s dorm always had the best sunset views. with the ‘flannel’ candle burning, the ambiance in the room was almost romantic. but the sounds of ghasts growling on the monitor definitely ruined it. we played minecraft frequently, and tonight was no different.
“fuck!” i yelled, “fucking skeletons keep killing me!” i lightly threw the controller in front of me. it had already been the third time i was killed in the nether, and i was over it. i got up from jean’s bed, pacing around the room. “can you chill? you’re worse than connie,” jean teased me. i rolled my eyes, and started fiddling with random things around his room. jean was used to me  snooping, but this time something new was in his nightstand when i opened the drawer.
it was a picture of two boys. for a second the sounds from the monitor and clicking controller went silent as i realized it was jean. and the other boy eren. they both looked so different, it might’ve been taken as far back as high school.
jean was skinner, and his hair was shorter and styled differently. he still looked like himself. i couldn’t say the same for eren. instead of hair long enough to tie back, he had an undercut. jean still had a few inches on him in this picture, but the biggest change was his face. it was fuller, and there was a light in his eyes he was missing nowadays. his smile reached from ear to ear. i’ve never seen him smile… the picture was cut short by a torn edge on the left side. like someone had ripped it in half.
“why so silent,” jean asked, taking a quick glance over, paying half attention. he did a double take, this time actually looking at what i was holding. “damn y/n, always a snoop, don’t touch that,” he said, peeling the picture from my hands. he walked it to the other side of the room, placing it in his wardrobe this time. “sorry,” i started. looking up at him, jean was staring at the floor.
“i didn’t know you were friends. i thought you guys hated each other.” his response came quick, “we do.” jean didn’t want to talk about it, but i did. anytime the group mentioned eren, jean was tightlipped. the only remarks he made ridiculed eren; i figured they never got along.
“so.. what happened?” i asked. he looked over at me this time; his eyes were sad, blank. just like erens. he took a deep breath in, and let it out long before he responded to me. “he fooled around with historia our first year here. and you know historia,” i laughed though my nose.
“then we started fooling around. i didn’t think it was a big deal. at least, eren never made it seem like he and historia were a big deal. i still don’t think they were, but he got so mad at me.” the sadness had returned to jean’s eyes. “we got into a fight, and before either of us tried to make amends, he was just… gone. no one heard anything from him for a whole fucking year. we all just assumed he was in love with historia and couldn’t take it.” he was staring at the floor again. i walked the distance to him, crawling over the bed. “i’m sorry jean-boy,” teasing him to lighten the mood.
my hands were wrapped around his torso in a half hug. jean pushed me off, “fuck you,” he laughed out. he reached his hand out to mess up my hair before saying, “stay away from jaeger, y/n. he’s not like he used to be.” it didn’t come as a surprise; even i could tell something was off.
he walked away, grabbing the controller i threw earlier, and shoved it back into my hands. “come on, i need help getting blaze rods,” he said with a light smile. i went back to playing the game, but i wasn’t really paying attention as i mulled over jean’s story the rest of the night. it made sense; in theory. but historia was never one to get serious with anyone at all. even ymir; they have a complicated ‘relationship.’ it was hard to imagine the eren i knew falling in love that like, but people change i guess.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
the next day, school work started to pile up. after procrastinating for the first few days, i had a ton of deadlines to meet tonight. a knock at the door drew my attention away from the laptop. i knew i was the only one home, so i went to answer it. behind the door was eren, i can’t believe i fucking forgot!
i pulled the door wider, inviting him inside, “is it already two?” i became self conscious, knowing i hadn’t bothered to put myself together today. “yeah, is it not a good time?,” his voice finally displayed some sort of emotion. he raked his eyes across my face, i diverted my gaze down in response.
“no it’s fine, just set up on the table,” i point to the sorry excuse we had for a dining table. it was an old beer table from reiner we set up while waiting for our furniture to ship. i made my way back to my room to get materials for the projects. did i give him my dorm number? the question nagged at the back of my mind. i blurted the thought out. he gazed over at me, keeping his features and tone even and dull, “i asked sasha.”
“oh,” was all i said. my feelings were.. hurt? maybe he texted me and i didn’t see it in time? maybe he didn’t want to bother me? it was easier to come up with excuses than face the fact that he would rather text my roommate for our number than me. whatever.
i pretended to know what i was flipping the pages of my book for. “any ideas on what text we should analyze?” he asked while tying his hair back. his veins popped out on his exposed forearms and i had to adjust the way i was sitting. before responding, i had to swallow the knot in my throat, “i’m not set on anything, maybe judith?”
eren didn’t take his eyes off his laptop. “it’s kinda short for fifteen pages,” he trailed, “i was thinking beowulf.”it surprised me he was taking initiative. his lack of expression led me to believe i would be doing this project all by myself. “beowulf works.”
we worked for a solid two hours; rereading the text and forming our ideas on themes. he might’ve been putting in effort, but it was strictly school related. don’t complain, i tried to convince myself it was okay he didn’t make it personal. even with all the time we had spent, we weren’t close to finishing. “do you want to take a coffee break?” i asked, “there’s a dutch right down the street.”
“sure, my car?” i nodded as we made our way out the door. i wasn’t expecting him to walk toward the all blank bmw m4. damn. eren made his way to the passenger door, and to my surprise, opened it. the gesture was sweet, but his face showed a veil of annoyance. the car’s inside was pristine; like no one had ever even driven it before. it’s not what i would’ve expected from him.
the short drive there would’ve been silent if not for the music playing. fidgeting with my fingers was the only thing that seemed to pass the time; too scared to really say anything to him. he reached his hand over, turning the volume dial down, “what do you want?”
“blended redbull,” i spoke, my voice scratchy from barely using it the whole day. he nodded and placed our orders with the overly-friendly dutch employees (ifykyk). when he handed my drink over, i had the courage to talk while the music was still down. “thanks…”
“you’re not much of a talker,” i realized how rude it sounded as soon as i said it, and it was confirmed when he shot a glare my way. “you aren’t either,” he sipped from his latte. “yeah, because you don’t seem to want to talk to me.”
“i don’t want to talk to anyone,” eren’s gaze was back on the road. his features were still, but i noticed his knuckles turning white as he gripped the steering wheel. it must’ve been a pretty hard grip since his arm muscles started to flex with the pressure.
“geez..” i scoffed, “any reason, or just not a people person,” the taunt was light, but it was there.
“i have to have a reason?” he phrased it as a statement. logic told me this was just how eren was. but my mind kept making up its own excuses; telling me he just has something against me. “is it because i’m friends with jean?’
“what?” he seemed genuinely surprised by my asking. “do you not talk to me because i’m friends with jean?” i reiterated.
he looked away from the road, back into my eyes. i could see the fire in them now. i was pissing him off, “why would jean have anything to do with that?”
“he’s the reason you left, no?” i presumed. jean wouldn’t lie to me, and he sounded sincere. “no. he’s not.” eren’s answer was definitive. bringing his gaze back on the road once more, his jaw ticked shut. it somehow became even sharper, and i could faintly hear the grinding of his teeth. i took that as my sign to shut the fuck up. whatever was going on was bigger than me, bigger than our friends.
the car made a sharp turn back in the parking lot. eren pulled into a spot with his foot still on the accelerator. he slammed on the breaks, and shoved the gear shift in park. his movements were fast and angry, but not aggressive. just rushed. like he wanted to be anywhere but here. with me. eren opened his door, exiting the car so i mimicked his movements. we made our way back to my dorm, but he led the way as if it were his own we were going back to.
grabbing his things, he didn’t bother to pack them. just grabbed them within his arms, “we’ll finish it another day,” once again he left no room for disagreement. “i’m sorry, i didn-”
“don’t apologize.” he shot me a look of what looked like disgust. his face had gone back to being blank, but his eyes were still blazing. they had life in them again, but this time it wasn’t happiness that awakened it like the picture with jean. eren was out the door in a split second, the sound of the door closing was the only thing my mind registered. i stood in the living room in the dim light, in awe for a few moments. he gets set off easily.. i guess. i might be able to pry with my friends, but it was off limits around eren.
maybe it’s fucked up to be happy that i made him angry. but that’s what i was. i finally got something out of him that wasn’t entirely emotionless. it proved he was even human. the feeling didn’t last long; he crumbled everything i thought i knew about the situation regarding his disappearance. now i was no closer to figuring it out than when i met him. it doesn’t matter, i kept repeating to myself, trying desperately to believe it. i still had a night full of deadlines; so i pushed my emotions as far down as they would go and focused on what was real and in front of me.

hola tiff 👋
i was a frequent commenter on ao3 intending to come back and finish your magnum opus (tbaw) in one sitting bc the week to week format was stressing me out. i somehow spoiled myself on the ending before reading it and i’m lowkey disappointed our girl didn’t ride off into the sunset alone or with her friends, that would’ve been so subversive and unexpected.
a few questions:
- who/what inspired your versions of the aot characters? jean specifically, his personality and values seem completely opposite to his canon counterpart. as for eren, you probably wrote him with way more complexity and emotion than isayama did. if it wasn’t for the borderline revenge porn subplot, i’d say you almost made me love a character i previously hated. your writing is really that great 🤩
- how did you feel about how the mange/anime ended and would you have changed anything about it?
- are you still planning on writing the reiner spin-off?
you definitely earned yourself a break from all this. hope life’s been treating your well otherwise!
hello and welcome back!!! omg what a lovely question, thank you so much for asking!! literally, i saw your message in my inbox and i was like 🥺 and it gave me the energy to respond to a few other messages that i've been hoarding in my inbox for the past like......... month lol
i actually very seriously considered having her end up with nobody or have be it more open-ended but i figured that after all of the pain, the characters deserved a happy ending.
long response under cut
who/what inspired your versions of the aot characters?
jean was inspired by the school castes version of jean where he is a bully lol i've also seen readers describe him as "jean if he never met marco", which is very accurate. in my opinion, even canon jean is not a very good person, in the sense that being "good" or doing the "right thing" doesn't come naturally. we see him struggle through difficult decisions a lot in canon but he always CHOOSES to do the right thing because he doesn't want to disappoint the jean that marco thought he was. since there's nobody to disappoint in tbaw, it's easier for him to be selfish. and you guys all know i love jean, so this isn't even a criticism of his canon character. i LOVE the fact that he's someone who actively works to be a better person because in real life, it's not that easy to always be the hero, so i think that's so cool and realistic and i could probably talk about this all day but I'll stop 🤚 eren i tried to mostly base off of canon, with the exception that his relationship with zeke is flipped. where zeke is desperate for family and eren is the manipulative one in canon, in tbaw it's the opposite. au's are hard, because as much as i want to try to be faithful to canon, when you take away a major part of it (in tbaw's case, the literal TITANS), it can really impact the character. so, now that eren doesn't have his insane desire to kill titans after the death of his mom, in a modern au he has to channel that energy into something else. in tbaw's case it was holding that resentment for his father and trying to find the family that he missed out on, which turned him into this horrible person in hopes of getting validation from the child that his father chose over him. but at the end of the day, he's still super passionate and caring about his friends and is willing to do almost anything for them... but he's honestly just a little stupid and could've definitely talked to his friends about what he was going through instead of going completely nuclear. for the other characters, i tried to stick to what i thought their modern au!personality would be, but i also wanted to tell a certain story so i took some little liberties.
how did you feel about how the mange/anime ended and would you have changed anything about it?
i think it's really difficult to successfully nail the ending of anything. especially something that generates so much discussion, character study, and attention. i feel like we're going to see a similar thing happen with the jjk series. while i don't think the ending to the manga/anime was perfect, i still liked it. i still love attack on titan and rewatch it and engage with the fandom pretty regularly, which is more than i can say about some other shows i liked that have ended. i don't think i'd change anything about the ending if i had the power to do so
are you still planning on writing the reiner spin-off?
yes, hopefully 😭 i haven't been able to write anything for months because i think i'm just overthinking things. but i've been trying really hard these past few days to just get SOMETHING down, so i'm slowly getting back into the swing of things?? maybe?? fingers crossed for me.

Chapter Eight:  Remember this Feeling
Hange had decided to spend some extra time in the library since they were off duty for the night. The books in Zeke’s room weren’t helping them figure out what stone deceiver meant.
They hadn’t been expecting to hear someone else come into the library.
They were even more surprised when it was Lord Levi Ackerman walking in.
There was a pile of books in front of Hange.
“Hello,” they said, peeking over the books.
Levi made a face.
Hange knew about Levi. They’d seen him compete in tournaments, heard all about Levi for Erwin.
Erwin.
The only friend who Hange was closer to than Pieck and Zeke.
Levi just nodded before he began looking around the royal library.
Hange returned to the book in front of them, a history of the North.
Skagos Sygerrik.
Stone. Deceiver.
Could it not be a literal translation?
Hange picked up their quill out of the ink.
Skagos Sygerrik Hange wrote at the top of their paper in their journal.
“Skagos Sygerrik,” they whispered under their breath as if saying it out loud would make it magically tell them what it meant.
“What did you say?” Levi said as he walked back over to them.
“Skagos Sygerrik?”
“Do you know what it means?” Levi asked as he slid into the chair on the other side of the table.
“Stone deceiver?”
“So then no, you don’t know what it means.”
“Do you?”
“No. I don’t think anyone knows what it means. Why are you looking it up?”
Hange looked down, “it’s my own research.”
Levi’s eyes narrowed. “For what?”
“I’ve been researching magic and the world. It was something I started with…..” Hange trailed off. “With Erwin. We both had an interest in it.”
Levi scoffed, “ of course, Erwin would be looking into it.”
Hange looked up, “did you know about him looking into it?”
“I know he was interested in why my cousin’s dragon egg hasn't hatched, and how the world seemed to be changing. Less magic around but I never knew he'd already been researching it.”
Hange nodded, “there’s not much to find. Mostly just stories, a lot of them contradict one another so that’s something else that has to be sorted out.”
“Not surprised. Let me know if you find out what those words mean,” Levi said as he stood from the table.
Hange nodded, “I’ll send a raven if you’re gone by then.”
Levi started towards the door before turning back around. “He was proud of you, you know. He told me. He wouldn’t have left you the position if he hadn’t.”
Hange blushed so they looked down. “I know.”
“So why are you telling King Grisha no?”
“Because we both know that position isn’t just a captain of the guard position.”
Levi nodded as he exited the library.
—---
The last day of the tournament flew by.
Eren was unhorsed by Reiner.
Zeke unhorsed Reiner.
Levi unhorsed Zeke and Reiner.
Levi had named no one the ruler of love and beauty.
“That shit starts wars,” he said as he rode off on his horse.
The banquet was delicious.
Mikasa refused to dance as Eren slipped from the room as soon as it began. Sasha and Annie claimed injuries. So instead, the three of them ate their weight in lemon cakes.
—-------
The Kitchen Staff was gossiping when Niccolo overheard them.
“Well I heard it wasn’t a love match. He isn’t even dancing with her tonight. She excused herself right after dessert,” one of the cooks said.
“I heard she’s pregnant by someone in the North,” another cook said.
“No, she’s pregnant with Prince Eren’s baby. They’ve been sneaking into one another's rooms in the North. I have a cousin who has a friend who works there.”
Niccolo knew that was a lie.
He worked in the Arlert House while they weren’t above gossip, they wouldn’t say anything like that.
Niccolo slipped out of the kitchen and began to search for one of the Ackerman household members.
—-------
Rumors began to swirl that Eren and Mikasa were not a love match. Instead, the Princess was pregnant and they needed to marry her off.
None dared to say this around the Ackermans or the Jaegers for fear for their lives.
Yet the rumors still reached Kenny and Grisha’s ears via a tip from Niccolo. Levi was quickly looped into the information. They discussed it in Grisha’s office while the party continued.
“It is your son’s fault,” Kenny remarked.
Grisha sighed as he traced the rim of his wine glass. “I am aware of my son’s reaction.”
“Then it is most likely the Fritz loyalists trying to sow discord between them,” Levi spoke.
“That is what I believe as well.”
“Do we need to pull Frieda from Kiyomi?” Kenny asked as he leaned back in the chair.
Grisha shook his head. “No. Her daughter is heading to the Free Cities. Historia is just like her mother. She has no interest in returning to the Seven Kingdoms. She no longer wants to be in the Ten Kingdoms to be ruled over by Kiyomi. She feels like a pawn so Frieda allowed her to go to the Free Cities.”
“Smart girl,” Levi remarked.
“Too smart. She may have been good to sit upon the Iron Throne.”
“The answer is clear though. We wait for over nine moons to pass before we marry them,” Levi offered.
Grisha nodded though he doubted it would be that simple.
—---------------
Eren was restless.
So that meant Fenrir was also restless. The giant wolf let out a whine.
“I know. I know,” Eren said as he patted his wolf on the head.
His thoughts all led back to Mikasa.
He had started to feel horrible about the whole thing.
Especially when Niccolo had let it slip that people thought Eren had got Mikasa pregnant and that was the only reason they were to marry.
But how could he fix it and not hurt Mikasa more?
He looked at the paper and quill awaiting him on the desk. No matter how many times Eren had tried to write his feelings, it all came out wrong.
There were far too many conflicting emotions within himself. He wish to run into her arms, beg for her forgiveness.
But he also knew he did not deserve it.
There was one fear that kept playing in Eren’s mind.
Mikasa would die.
He would be the cause of it.
How many attempts had there been on his life?
How many more would there be?
“NO!” Midnight yelled from his perch.
“That is unhelpful,” Eren said to his crow.
“CORN!”
“You have corn, Midnight.”
Fenrir sounded like he was groaning as he jumped onto the bed.
“Is there any way to fix this?” Eren wondered as he ran a hand through his hair.
“NO!” Midnight yelled.
“Very helpful, Midnight,” Eren muttered as he looked down.
—-------
The meeting with Grisha was not what Levi had hoped.
It had been just a basic rundown.
The Tyburs may attack, they had untold power and no one knew exactly what there was.
There was a bastard. She was in the hands of Kiyomi.
That was it.
No mention of The Others.
No talk of the Stone Deceiver.
The Ackermans departed shortly after the meeting.
—---------------------
Jean’s head was pounding.
How stupid he had been drinking with Reiner, trying to keep up.
There was a crash in the room next to him.
No.
Absolutely not. He would not listen to Pieck take a lover today.
He marched over, pounded on the door.
A crying Pieck answered the door but that did not freeze him in place.
Three angry, jagged scratch marks ran across her face.
“What?” she snapped at him.
Jean pushed his way into her room. He looked around the room. Plants were everywhere, one had been knocked on the floor.
“What are you doing?” Pieck asked him as she closed the door.
“Where is he?” Jean asked her as he turned towards her.
“Who?”
“Whoever did this to you,” he remarked, taking her appearance in.
“My mother did this. She’s gone back home with my uncle. You just missed them. Why were you pounding on my door?”
Jean’s face reddened. “I thought you had a lover and my head was pounding…but seeing you like this…”
“Doing your knightley duty. Well, good knight, I am no damsel in distress. You may return to your bed. Though….” Pieck walked over to the small chest that was sitting on her desk. She retrieved a vial and handed it to Jean. “For your head. Don’t ask what it is. You do not want to know.”
“Will it poison me?”
Pieck laughed. “No. I don’t have time to explain a dead body.”
Jean removed the cork. He smelled it before lifting it to his lips. He stopped as he noticed Pieck staring at him. “What?”
“Just noticed you have a lot more muscles than I would have guessed under that armor.”
Jean looked down.
Right.
He had been sleeping.
He wasn’t wearing a tunic or shoes for that matter.
“I do train, you know. I made it rather far in the tournament,” he told her before he opened his mouth. The liquid had a bitter taste to it so he swallowed it quickly. He handed the vial back to Pieck who returned it to the chest.
“I am aware. I’ve just not seen you….” she gestured to his state of undress.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think you liked seeing me like this,” Jean teased her. “You clean that?” he motioned to her face.
“Not yet. That was what I was in the middle of before you came in here,” Pieck sighed.
Jean looked to the table next to Pieck’s bed. “Sit,” he said as he walked over and grabbed the bottle of firemilk off of her table.
Pieck didn’t move.
“Just sit down,” he pleaded.
Pieck looked at him.
“Just let me clean your face,” he sighed.
Pieck sat down on the edge of the bed. Jean pulled the chair from the small desk in the back corner, moving it in front of her. He sat down in the chair.
Half the time, Jean didn’t notice the size difference between himself and Pieck. Yet now….she seemed rather small. He grabbed the rag that was on the bedside table, pouring the firemilk onto it. He gently ran it along the marks on her cheek.
Pieck flinched.
“Sorry,” he apologized under his breath as he continued to remove the blood and sanitize the area.
“I’ve had worse,” Pieck looked down.
Jean put his hand under her chin, forcing her to look at him. “Your mother should be friends with my father.”
“Did he….”
“No. Nothing physical. Never physical. I think my mother would kill him if he did anything like that. It’s more….I don’t know. Seems silly to compare it now I say it out loud. Why did she do it?”
“It’s not silly. And I’ve heard. Ignoring you is just as bad. She wanted more coin. It’s always her needing more coin. It’s the first time she’s hurt me. If Zeke found out, he’d….”
“I won’t tell. I doubt he’d ask me anyway.”
Pieck nodded. “Thank you.”
Jean nodded. He put the rag back on her bedside table along with the firemilk before he checked the wounds again. He turned her head to the side to get a better look. Then he turned back so he was looking into her eyes.
“Shouldn’t scar. She just got you bad enough to bleed.”
Pieck nodded again.
His thumb ran along her chin as she stared at him.
Jean’s heart was pounding inside his chest as her eyes moved to his lips.
He hadn’t felt this way for a very long time.
He could remember very clearly the last time he had felt this way. The girl had been a barmaid. Jean had just had his sixteenth name day, he was clueless of how things worked back then. He had been all thumbs, beating hearts, and sweating.
Pieck drove him absolutely insane.
The way she constantly challenged him.
The way she would physically take him down with no regard to his size, his rank.
She didn’t want a lord.
She didn’t want a knight.
But did she want him?
If he leaned in to kiss her and she didn’t want it….Pieck would never let him live it down. Jean knew that for fact.
“What were you going to do if there was someone else in here?” she whispered.
“Kick them out,” he muttered. Taking a chance, Jean ran his thumb across her bottom lip.
Her lips parted.
“And how often do you wish it was you?”
“Ev….”
The door opened and both of them jumped apart. Porco was revealed as the door swung open.
“What happened to your face?” Porco asked as he came into the room. “And why is he here?”
“My mother. Don’t tell Zeke. You weren’t in your room nor was your brother. I don’t want word getting back to Zeke. So I asked Jean for help,” Pieck lied seamlessly. “You scared the shit out of me. What if I had a lover here?”
“Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen you naked. Won’t be the last,” Porco collapsed onto Pieck’s bed.
“Because you forget to knock!” Pieck screeched.
“You’re in good hands now, so I’ll go,” Jean excused himself and exited the room.
He practically ran into his room, closing the door behind him. He ran a hand through his hair.
“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath as he leaned back on his door. He slid down the door until he was sitting on the floor.
Pieck was never going to let him live that down, was she?

Frieda Fritz watched as  a boat sailed across the sea to the Free Cities.
She watched until the boat was out of sight, the horizon glowing red with the rising sun.
Yui’s hand was on her shoulder. “She will be fine.”
Frieda nodded, “I know. I hope she finds love and a home and a life that I cannot give her.”
Yui nodded.
“Can you feel it?” Frieda asked. “Can you feel it coming? The Tyburs….I feel them. I can feel the cold as it creeps across the sea.”
Yui nodded again. “I hope one day my daughter can forgive me for all I have done. I have not been there for her. I kept her safe from all of this. Out of everyone’s hands. Out of Kiyomi’s hands.”
“We’re all going to die, aren’t we?”
“I do not know. I cannot see the future. I don't know what will come to pass.”
Frieda kept her eyes focused on the horizon. “I hope Historia forgives me one day too.”
—-------------------
Sasha found herself back in the forge shortly after they returned. She had missed it.
There was something about being back in the forge.
It was home.
Mikasa walked up to the forge, Kayda trailing behind her.
“Working on anything interesting?” Mikasa asked as she watched Sasha hammer a small dagger.
“I think it’s time for us to finally have our Valyrian steel. Two daggers each, a sword each, and some valyrian steel tipped arrows,” Sasha grinned.
“I haven’t picked out what I want my pommel to look like,” Mikasa muttered as her face reddened.
“You trust me, right?” Sasha asked as she stopped hammering.
“Always,” Mikasa nodded.
“Good. Because I have an idea,” Sasha grinned.
—----
“What kind of flowers would the princess like for her wedding?”
“Princess! Princess!”
“Beautiful gowns for your wedding!”
“Finest gems in the Seven Kingdoms!”
Mikasa had chosen to go to the market.
A horrible decision, Mikasa thought to herself.
While normally no one would make a fuss over Mikasa coming to the market, news of her engagement to the Prince had spread, everyone wanted to be a part of a double royal wedding.
They did not seem to know how close Mikasa was to losing that title. She had overheard the conversations between Kenny and Levi. Kiyomi would soon name her little brother heir.
Kayda flew over the market, letting out a roar as she circled back, keeping a close eye on her rider.
People cheered, people cowered.
“Princess Mikasa! Lady Sasha! Lady Annie!” A voice called as he waved his hat.
“Niccolo!” Sasha waved.
It had been almost a fortnight since they had left the capitol.
“I have lemoncakes!” He called.
The three women shared a look before they took off running and laughing. They reached his stall as they laughed.
Sweets covered the wood stall.
“What brings your ladies to the market?” he asked as he handed them each a lemoncake.
“Needed to get out,” Mikasa said before taking a bite.
Niccolo did truly make the best lemoncakes.
“What about you?” Annie asked in between bites.
“Making a bit of extra money. The Arlerts were kind enough to let me come here and sell. I’m trying to buy my own horse,” Niccolo sighed.
Sasha reached into her pocket and set a gold coin on the stall.
“Oh, Lady Sasha. I didn’t mean….”
“I insist.”
Mikasa placed a gold coin of her own on the stall. Not long after, Annie did the same.
“Ladies, Princess, I cannot accept this.”
Mikasa shook her head. “I order that you do. You may send more of these lovely cakes to the Ackerman Keep if it will make you feel better.”
Niccolo shook his head. “I shall deliver them myself. A chocolate cake as well.”
“It’s been so long since I’ve had a chocolate cake,” Sasha sighed.
The shadow of a dragon passed over them.
“I believe that is Kadya’s way of telling us to move on. Thank you, Niccolo,” Mikasa smiled as she walked away.
—----------------
The big moments never happen as one expects.
They come without warning.
One could seek fourate tellers, seers, and witches.
None of them could tell anyone anything.
They were all lies.
The big moments come out of nowhere.
Irrevocably changing lives.
Eren had a dream.
He was flying again, he was out of that body.
It was cold.
There was ice everywhere.
“Dracarys!” a man called out.
Eren opened his mouth, fire rained down on those that were attacking with ice.
“Meadow, vēzot!”
Eren banked right, flying higher into the sky. He had to retreat to the palace or else his rider would die.
They passed over a lake that had yet to be frozen.
It was then that Eren caught a reflection of himself.
Green scales covered his body.
A blonde man was on his back, someone Eren felt the need to protect. This man was a part of him like an appendage. He was not a mere rider. He was the blood, the life. Eren would give his life to protect this man, more if he could.
They landed on the ground in front of the palace.
“Umbās,” the man ordered as the man got off of his back.
“Wake up,” Zeke said as he shook his brother.
Eren rubbed his eyes. “What?”
“You know our father is already mad at you for ignoring the princess the whole time she was here,” Zeke reminded him.
It had been a fortnight since the tournament.
“And?” Eren asked as he sat up in bed.
“And I could hear you screaming so I imagine the guards and servants have as well,” Zeke scoffed. “What were you dreaming about?”
He had been screaming?
Why had he been screaming?
He didn’t remember screaming.
He didn’t remember the dream even being upsetting.
Yet apparently, it had been.
He tried to recall the details of his dream but he couldn’t recall anything.
“I…I don’t remember,” Eren confessed as his eyebrows scrunched together.
“Well stop dreaming about whatever it was. Dream about your future wife,” Zeke said as he exited Eren’s bedroom.
—-----
There were a lot of strange things going on, Armin noted.
Hange was spending every spare moment in the library.
Jean and Pieck would walk down the same hallway, see one another, and then both would turn around to go wherever they came from.
Eren would spend the night sleeping but wake up as if he hadn’t got a single moment of sleep.
The King was spending a lot of time in the tunnels under the castle.
Zeke seemed more irritated every day.
The Queens were not seen.
Armin noticed all of it.
But he didn’t have a single clue what any of it meant.
—----
“Any word from Kiyomi?” Grisha asked the fire that flickered in front of him.
He had to constantly stoke the fire so that it wouldn’t go out.  He assigned guards to guard it as well to stoke it when he didn’t have time.
“Ice is still leaking from the Tybur’s continent. The whole place is frozen,” Kenny’s voice came through. “They haven’t seen anyone. They haven’t seen William or Laura. No wrights. No Others. Nothing. Just ice as far as the eye can see.”
“Any attacks on Kiyomi?”
“Not yet. If she would have just given William an heir when they married, this would be a different situation,” Kenny scoffed. “She’s changing her heir officially.”
Grisha rubbed his temples. “Of course, which means an elaborate feast. Decline our invitations, will you?”
“Levi already did so. He demands my brother back.”
“What are the chances Keiran will return?”
“Low. He won’t abandon Yui or his son. Had no problem abandoning Mikasa though,” Kenny scoffed.
“Do you think he resents her?”
“Sometimes. She’s got far too magic in her blood. None of which she knows how to use or that even exists.”
“Is there any information that Kiyomi can use against you?”
Kenny chuckled before he began to cough. “I have a fucking dragon.”
“Yes, yes.”
“How is Dina?”
Grisha sighed, “she’s not well. The nightmares are getting bad. Carla has been tending to her.”
“The North is always welcome for you and your family.”
“I know. But I won’t flee.”
“Don’t let your pride get you murdered.”
“Do not worry, old friend. I have a wolf.”
—--------------------------------
Dina’s mind kept taking her back to that cell.
So here she was, in the same room she had once been trapped in. The cell…no…the cage that she had been kept in had long since been destroyed. The room was entirely empty.
Carla held her hand, keeping her grounded. Rosemary and Moondust were on either side of them.
“You don’t have to do this,” Carla had reassured her.
“I know. But if I spend another night screaming….I can’t, Carla. I can’t,” Dina replied.
Carla nodded and squeezed her hand.
Dina allowed her mind to drift.
Back to the time she was kept in that cage.
Dina stepped slowly, Carla and the wolves faithfully at her side.
Something was pulling Dina to the middle of the room. Using her bare hands, she began to dig. Rosemary rushed to her, helping her owner dig into the dirt.
There was something here. Dina could feel herself being pulled to it, whatever it was. Finally, she hit something. There was something cold that her hand collided with, she dug around it.
They looked at one another before Dina stepped back.
There was some sort of rod that she could only see part of.
“What do you suppose that is?” Dina asked as she looked up at Carla.
“I don’t know. We’re going to need some shovels,” Carla replied.
“Well, we better get to it,” Dina sighed as she stood up.
—---------------
After getting two shovels, Dina and Carla along with their wolves, dug up the strange thing in the ground.
Brushing off the remaining dirt, they took a step back to examine the six foot long thing in the ground. A long steel staff, a hammerhead, a sharp beak.
“It’s the war hammer, isn’t it?” Carla asked.
“The one the Tyburs are supposed to have,” Dina said as she walked back towards it. She tried to pick it up but it would not budge. No matter how hard she tried to pull it out of the hole, she could not get it out.
Carla joined Dina back in the hole they dug. The two of them tried to lift it to no avail. It would not come out.
“It cannot be this heavy,” Dina fumed.
“It’s magic. It won’t let us lift it,” Carla replied as they both let go of the handle.
“Then who can?” Dina mused.
Neither of them knew the answer.
—----
Yui looked at her sleeping husband’s form.
The Azumabito family had always been told to stay away from the Ackerman’s. There would be a child between the two families who would either save the world or damn it. It had been made thousands of years ago, before the Doom of the Valyrian. Before Valyrian sank into the ocean or at least the rest of the world thought it had. Yui didn’t want to know either way. The fact that that knowledge could get into Kiyomi’s hands……
Yui did not trust her sister.
Kiyomi had political aspirations which was why Yui had been sent to the Ackermans, to find a husband for Kiyomi. But it had been Yui who had fallen in love with an Ackerman, had a child. A child with ice and fire in her veins, born amidst salt and smoke.
But Kiyomi did not know the circumstances of Mikasa’s birth.
As far as Kiyomi knew, Mikasa was born inside the Ackerman keep. Then Yui made sure her son would be born amidst smoke and salt.
Yui and Kieran pushed their daughter away. Made everyone think they resented her.
“We’re doomed to die,” Kieran rolled over, looking at his wife.
“I know,” Yui muttered as she placed her hand in his. “She’ll save the world. Her heart is pure.”
Kieran nodded, “I know.”
“How long do you think we have?” Yui sighed.
“Maybe a year. Possibly less depending on how quickly things begin to fall into place,” Kieran replied.
Yui nodded. “I’d like to see her again.”
“As would I but we both know it is better this way.” Keiran took his wife into his arms and held her close.
—---------------------------------
After training with Levi in the early morning, Mikasa made her way once again to the market. The air was hot. The heat wasn’t normally this bad in the North. For whatever reason, this summer, it had chosen to be. Mikasa had chosen a sleeveless dress that fashioned around her neck to do with the heat. Her Azumabito tattoo showed on her arm, the only connection she had to her mother, the one thing they shared.
Kayda flew overhead, keeping an eye on her rider from above.
Sasha and Annie had offered to come with her again but Mikasa had declined.
Something was bothering Mikasa. She wasn’t sure what it was, there were no words for what she was feeling.
It reminded her of when she had flown Kayda for the first time and when the dragon had gone to land, how her heart had been in her throat. It was as if something was just on the edge of happening.
So Mikasa strolled through the market, looking at the wares, the food.
She found herself in front of a stall that was to tell fortunates.
“Princess, I will not tell you yours,” the blonde woman replied as she stood and headed towards the tent behind the stall.
“What? Why not? I have a coin,” Mikasa remarked as she stepped forward. She hadn’t even considered getting her fortunate told until the woman told her she wouldn’t do it.
“Coin is not a problem. I know your song. It has been sung for thousands of years. That’s precisely why I cannot tell you, kivio dārilaros.”
Mikasa frowned. “Promised heir? My aunt has taken my title. I’m no longer an heir.”
“Vāedar hen suvion se perzys,” the woman said as she waved her hand and walked into the tent.
Mikasa frowned as she walked away.
None of that made any sense.
At least this gave her something else to think about.
—-----------------------
Eren was not having a very good day.
There had been an attack outside of the gates.
Once again, people are demanding the removal of his title.
He didn’t even want the fucking title.
So he wandered with Fenrir the lower halls of the castle , the tunnels that went on for what seemed miles.
Jean was trailing behind him, not saying much.
There was something going on with Jean. He had been strange, not fighting with Eren or Pieck.
“Not going to complain, Jean boy?” Eren prodded.
“Shut up,” Jean muttered under his breath.
“What’s wrong with you anyway?” Eren asked as he stopped walking.
“Nothing,” Jean muttered.
“Fine. Don’t tell me. Talk to Connie or Armin then.”
“You’re one to talk, Eren. You still haven’t dealt with the Princess,” Jean retorted.
Eren scoffed, “don’t remind me. So it’s a woman then?”
“What do you know about women?”
“I know enough.”
Jean rolled his eyes. “Go back to being the dark prince who just broods over in the corner. Where are we going down here anyway?”
“I don’t know. I just don’t want to be around everyone.”
“You know it’s not your fault,” Jean reminded him.
Eren started to walk away. “No, it’s my father’s since he was so determined to make me legitimate.”
Jean trailed behind him, passing by the closed, locked doors.
At the end of the hall, there was a door that was never open. However, today it was.
“What do you imagine is in there?” Eren asked as he walked forward.
“I don’t know. Something boring? It’s mostly records kept down here. Nothing of really any interest.”
“I thought they used to keep prisoner down here.”
“They did. Not in this wing anymore though. It’s the South Wing that has them now. This was never meant to be a cell. They kept Queen Dina down here because they believed no one would be able to find her.”
“But my father did.”
Jean nodded.
Eren walked forward and into the open room.
Dirt had been displaced, there was a hole in the middle of the room.
“What is that?” Jean asked as he followed Eren in.
They walked over to the hole in the ground.
“That’s a war hammer,” Eren said as he reached down.
Time seemed to stop for a moment. When Eren touched the war hammer, he felt something. It was as if a jolt of lightning had struck him as he lifted the war hammer. It was cold to the touch.
Ice began to form on the war hammer.
Eren quickly dropped it.
Jean stared at him.  “What is that thing?”
“I don’t know. You pick it up.”
Jean rolled his eyes before leaning down. He tried to lift the war hammer but it would not lift.
“Come on, pick it up,” Eren replied.
“I can’t,” Jean released the handle.
“What do you mean you can’t?”
“I mean it will not budge.”
“How is that possible?”
“I don’t know! You pick it up again,” Jean said as he walked away from the war hammer.
Eren reached down again, lifting the war hammer with no problem.
Ice formed on the hammerhead while the shaft seemed to buzz with lightning.
“How are you doing that?” Jean wondered.
“I….I don’t know.”
“Well make it stop! We can’t take it upstairs if you can’t control it!”
“Why would I take it upstairs?”
“To figure out what it is.”
Eren placed the war hammer back into the hole. “Whatever that is……I don’t think I want it.”
Jean frowned. “Why not?”
“I don’t need anymore targets on my back, Jean. That’s all it’ll do. Don’t tell anyone. That’s an order,” Eren said as he walked away.
“Yes, Your Grace.”
—----------------
Pieck was lying on the chaise in Zeke’s room.
Hange was busy muttering to themself while combing through books.
Zeke had yet to return to the room as the castle was cleared for any rebel forces. Eren had gone into the tunnels which Pieck had been guarding. She had seen Jean. It had been awkward.
“Thank you, Armin,” Zeke’s voice called as he walked into the room. “Why am I not surprised you two are in my room before I am?”
“Because the castle was cleared an hour ago while you and your father were busy quelling the Lords’ worries,” Hange said as they turned the page. “Did you know Skagos is an old northern name?”
“No? Should I?” Zeke asked as he collapsed onto the other chaise.
“You have Northern blood so I wondered if you knew anyone with that name.”
“I should but I don’t. I only know the major and minor houses. None of them have the name of Skagos.”
“Hmm. I wondered if it died out in the war,” Hange mused before returning to their books.
“And what is wrong with you?” Zeke asked as he looked at Pieck.
Pieck sighed.
“That is not an answer.”
“My mother,” Pieck muttered before turning over, her back facing Zeke.
“She scratched up your face again?”
Pieck shook her head.
“Well, what is it then?”
“She just said some awful things. I don’t want to talk about it but I don’t want to be alone. So please, can I just stay here?”
Zeke’s face fell. Pieck’s mother should have been thrown into a cell the moment she scratched up Pieck’s face. Yet Pieck had begged him not to do such a thing.
Zeke just sighed and nodded, even though she couldn’t see it. “I’m sending you to the North. Father is having me assign what knights go with Eren when he marries. I’m sending you. Your mother won’t be able to get to you there. I’ll send part of your pay to her.”
Pieck sat up, “no! You can’t.”
“Pieck, you are one of my dearest friends. You must go. You’ll be safer there. It’s an order.”
Pieck’s hands curled into fists at her side, “of course, Your Grace. I will take my leave now.”
Pieck slammed the door when she left.
Zeke put his head into his hands.
“You’re doing the right thing, you know,” Hange spoke.
“I know. That’s what bothers me the most,” Zeke sighed.
—--------------------
CLANG! CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
Sasha’s hammer hit the steel that was on the avail.
The heat coming off the forge was making sweat form on Sasha’s brow.
This sword would be something of beauty. The handle would show all three of Mikasa’s families.
Her father.
Her mother.
Her betrothed.
Every hit brought the sword to life.
This sword would be Sasha’s best piece.
—-----------------
Eren kept finding himself in that scaly body. He’d catch a glimpse of himself in the reflection of lakes, of the ocean. Green scales. That’s what he saw. He’d sail over a frozen wasteland of a continent, a kingdom.
Tonight, as he flew, he noticed that his rider seemed more frantic.
“I thought you said we have at least a year,” a woman’s voice called as Eren landed.
“I said close to. Why?” Eren’s rider replied.
“Kiyomi wants to start getting boats in order to move to the Seven Kingdoms. You know what that means. You know what we must do,” the woman informed his rider.
His rider hoped down. There was something familiar about this man and woman. He couldn’t place what it was. The man had shaggy blonde hair while the woman had long black hair.
“Do you think he’s watching us right now?” the woman asked as she looked towards the dragon.
His rider looked at him. “I do not know.”
“Will Meadow know where to find him?” the woman asked.
His rider nodded, “he will.” The rider turned towards Eren. “If you’re in there, there’s a word you must remember. Though I doubt you will remember any of us. When Meadow finds you, you must tell him……”
Eren woke up.
Fenrir cocked his head to the side.
What had Eren been dreaming about?
—---------------
“Jean couldn’t lift it?” Armin asked as he and Eren descended the stairs down to the tunnels.
“No. He tried. But I picked it up like it was nothing,” Eren explained. “Zeke and Hange will be waiting for us.”
“Do you think your father knows about this thing?”
Eren shrugged, “someone had to dig it up.”
“How long do you think it’s been down here?”
“I was hoping you would know,” Eren shrugged as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
“I’m not sure what is down here. I’ve heard the Fritz family kept something of historical importance down here. What those things are, they haven’t told me. By the way, have you heard from the princess?”
Eren groaned. “Can we not talk about her?”
“Eren, she’s going to be your wife. You need to be good to her.”
“Just being engaged to her is going to cause her trouble. I’m keeping my distance from her.”
“And that is adding to the rumors that she is with child. Your child to be exact,” Armin informed him.
“I know. But she is not. I haven’t even kissed her.”
“You haven’t kissed anyone.”
“All of us can't have a lover in the North, Armin.”
“I no longer do. I saw to ruining that. But you could. You could have a loving wife.”
“That……..”
Eren was interrupted by the sound of bells.
These specific bells made the ground shake in the castle.
They only rang for one reason.
War.

Post war: dating hcs
Uh this got a bit out of hand so I´m putting it under a cut. (characters are Jean, Levi and Reiner)
Jean:
You said you loved me but you threw me out in the garbage
Now I´m starting to stink but everybody says I´m flawless
it´s fair to say that his dating life had changed the most drastically
he used to be a hopeless romantic that was known for falling too fast and never having any luck with it
he had his head in the clouds and great aspirations
needless to say everything changed after the war
in a sense he got everything he always wanted
he was celebrated as a hero, he was one of the people who saved the world
and yet he didn´t take any pride in that
if it was four years ago he would´ve but he had changed a lot, like all of them did
it was all so shallow at this point
he could get everyone he wanted to but it didn´t mean anything
it all became worthless to him
no matter what a mess he becomes after the war everyone still looks at him like he´s the best
he has a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms and his life is horrible, he hasn´t slept well in over three years now
he doesn´t take care of himself, has distanced himself from all his friends and is just miserable overall
he is so annoyed by everyone who is coming onto him in hopes to get lucky
just so they can say they fucked one of the heroes who saved the world
because he wants to drive off those people his situation gets worse and worse, he purposefully gets lost in the misery and lashes out at anybody and anything
he doesn´t even want to date anyone anymore, romance is dead in his eyes
relationships are meaningless to him
but then he´s invited to Connie´s wedding and has to pull himself together
his friends haven´t forgotten about him, they didn´t even judge him, they were just concerned
they were the wake up call he needed
he cleaned himself up and showed up, he had a great time at the wedding, reuniting with everyone
and he also got to meet you
you were a friend Connie met after the war and were excited to meet his other friends
of course you heard a lot about them but you didn´t really care about any of it, to you being a war hero wasn´t something to boast about
you knew yourself how horrible war was and never would think about believing anything about the honor bullshit
it was a badge of luck, luck that came with survivor guilt and the inability to live a normal life
you promised yourself to just talk to them normally but Jean immediately peeked your interest
he was just too handsome not to notice him
which is why you were surprised that nobody made any moves on him
he didn´t seem like a bad guy so you were even more curious now
Connie introduced the two of you and you two bonded over sharing embarrassing stories about him
at the end of the wedding you ask Jean to stay in contact, asking him to hang out more since he was a fun guy
and Jean agreed because that´s the first time someone has ever said that to him and actually meant it without any hidden intentions
casual and friendly hangouts turn into dates at a healthy pace, enabling him to finally enjoy and live in the moment
he still finds it strange how just one person could change his perspective
he´s way too lucky since he gets to have the perfect relationship he´s always dreamt about with you
Levi:
Control me I don't own myself Just a product of your design
much like Jean his reputation precedes him
to him it isn´t anything new however
people always looked at him as a weapon and used him accordingly
he fit in perfectly in this world and earned his respect and status
his view on dating didn´t change after the war
even before he never cared for any of that
Levi did date a few people when he was still living in the underground but he always got bored of them
then he dedicated his whole life to the survey corps and nothing else had space anymore
it was an empty and fulfilling life at the same time and because he didn´t know inner peace to begin with he didn´t have any regrets after the war
but because all of his closest friends are dead there still is this emptiness inside of him
it´s the worst when he´s in company of strangers who don´t know him but act like they do because he´s a war hero
Levi absolutely hates that term, fighting´s all he was ever good at and for and that´s why he despises it
especially after finding out about the truth he feels utterly lost
and now there´s no one there to guide him anymore
he´s always been lonely but it´s been a long time since he´s been utterly alone
he hates the pitying stares he gets because of his injuries, it´s humiliating to have to rely on others for daily chores
ever since Gabi and Falco returned to their families and were finally able to live a normal life he´s been the nightmare of many nurses and hospital staff
not a lot of people can put up with him and his quirks
you´re the only one he tolerates at first
you don´t complain, you don´t ask stupid questions, you keep things clean and most importantly you neither pity nor glorify him
you´re just there to help when he needs it and he really does appreciate it
over time he finds out that you´re very close with Gabi and Falco as you used to babysit them
they were the ones who got Levi to the hospital when they found him
at first you were wary of him after everything they told you but he wasn´t arrogant as you would expect from humanity´s strongest soldier
before you there was just one broken man
and a part of you was relieved, if he was just some guy you could do your job
there were so many war veterans that made you want to quit with the way they acted and behaved but he wasn´t like that at all
in fact sometimes you wished he would speak more, you would like to get to know him
after his wounds have healed and he´s discharged he´s just wandering around town aimlessly
he doesn´t know where to go, he doesn´t really want to go back to Paradis, he doesn´t have anyone or anything left anyway
but he doesn´t belong here either
or so he thought
Gabi and Falco ask you if he can stay with you until he finds a job and his own place and you agree, taking pity in him
you could only imagine how hard it must be for him to resume with life after everything that happened
still, you didn´t think that Levi would get back into things so quickly
he tries to do everything on his own just the way he did before but obviously he can´t and that frustrates him
he absolutely hates it when you help him
but slowly he learns that it´s okay to rely on people again, that they won´t disappear this time, that yes, even after the war, he has the right to build a life for himself again
actually it is the first time he is allowed to be selfish
Levi takes a long time to even fathom the idea of a romantic relationship, the feelings he experienced in his life have exceeded those of love by far and so he is a bit unsure on how to deal with your confession
because of course you would fall in love with him, maybe it was your savior complex or the way you saw life return to his tired and sad eyes, the way he would crack a smile and joke here or there, it was inevitable
you didn´t like waiting around so you took your chance and just told him straight up you had feelings for him
Levi didn´t understand (and still doesn´t, but he appreciates it now) how that is even possible but he listens to you and is touched by your words
your confession does mean a lot to him and he doesn´t turn you down right away, however he does ask you to wait a little longer for his answer because you´ve become important to him and he needs to be sure he can give you what you´re looking for
it´s not even about his body at this point, he´s not ashamed anymore, it´s just that he´s so scared of being emotionally unavailable that he cna barely breathe
hell, he has to ask Jean out of all people for advice, but he did get a fiancee somehow so he thinks he could make an exception
it´s only when he sees how happy Jean is with his partner and how happy they both are for Levi that he himself realizes that the way Jean looks at his fiancee is the way you look at him
and that knowledge hits him hard, he feels his heart burst out of his chest
he....could have that too? this happiness? and it could be with you? the person who somehow raked their way so deep inside his heart he didn´t even notice it? the person he trusted the most? the person who knew him better than anyone else ever could?
he does agree to date you naturally but does warn you that he needs time to adjust to expressing his feelings, to letting them in in the first place
you´re over the moon and just seeing your reaction assures him that he made the right choice, he himself can´t help but grin and extend his hand to you
naturally you go to Jean´s wedding together and are bombarded with questions after the reception
Levi tries to be annoyed but even he can´t suppress the little smile that forms on his lips
Reiner:
I´d like to find my old self again but I´m still trying to find it
dating is literally the last thing on his mind after the war
he never has dated before and doesn´t plan to now either
realizing your whole life has been a while, you were responsible for hundreds and thousands of deaths and destruction and didn´t even know who you were fighting for
Reiner just feels utterly lost in life now that everything´s over
and he doesn´t even have a place to call home
he´s glad to be able to see Gabi and Falco at least, he wants to make sure they have a good life and a good remainder of their childhood
hell, he didn´t even know if he had any more years left to live but apparently the curse is broken now
a part of him is sad about it because in those years of uncertainty he was hoping for it to end, maybe a part of him would be redeemed that way
his friends have stayed with him throughout everything though and he still doesn´t understand why
they all have their own family and he doesn´t know how to react to their attention
now that everything´s over he feels even more than he did back then, actually he thinks about whether there was a time in his life where he was happy at all or if he would ever be happy again
his friends tell him it´s alright and that he will find his place, that they´re there for him at all times
to get back into things they help him find a good schedule and plan hang outs with everyone
Annie goes running with him, Levi out of all people helps him find a job
he takes Reiner with him for his monthly check up, he´s very close to being able to walk with just crutches now
there Reiner meets his S/O as well who then introduces him to their colleagues while they´re doing the check up
you´re among them and he finds it surprisingly easy to talk to you
so much so that he talks to you about how scary he finds it how easy the people seem to have forgotten about his and his friends´ past crimes and forgave them so easily
´forgiving others is easy, forgiving yourself is the hard part. it´s no use getting stuck on the past when you´ve got so much longer to live´ you tell him
somehow your words strike a cord within him and he does his best to actually forgive himself, it´s hard because he doesn´t want to, he doesn´t see a man in the mirror but a monster
still, he tries and he slowly gets back into working
funnily enough he starts working at your parents´ shop so you see him more often now
your parents even invite him over for dinner once a week now which makes it hard for you
you know that Reiner needs time to work on himself before even thinking about dating but you find it so easy to fall for him
and your parents aren´t exactly subtle about it either, always pestering Reiner with questions if he had anyone special in his life and how long you have been single now
actually it´s in this conversation both of you realize that you´ve been holding yourselves back with stupid excuses
you work too much and Reiner is just a mess
but you realize that both of these things don´t stop a relationship from forming, after all in a good and functioning relationship you support each other, lift each other up
´I´m flattered but I don´t think I´m good enough for you, you´re gonna get tired of me...and it won´t take long´ are his words when you tell him you want to give it a try
you take his fear away a bit by saying you´re just dating and that you´re just trying it for now, that he can always leave if it´s too much
and when after a year he doesn´t you make it official
it´s new to Reiner but he´s so happy to have you by his side because with you he finally found someone he can cry to and feel safe
at the same time he is beyond proud of himself that he manages to take care of himself now, he can feel himself getting better slowly, day by day
to a point where he can open his own shop and work there, helping around town
it´s certainly a nicer feeling to be depended on and needed in building things up rather than destroying them
and having you support him with everything, showing him the love he´s been missing his whole life, for the first time he´s genuinely happy
the relationship you have is something so precious and intimate to him he goes above and beyond to make sure you feel the same way
sometimes you have to slow him down and assure him you won´t leave him
definitely the type of guy to build a family with, he´s here to stay

❛ I THOUGHT MAYBE WE WOULD KISS TONIGHT ༉‧₊˚✧
Tumblr media
pairing — reiner b. x fem!reader
synopsis — after her lovers betrayal she feels powerless. pushing down all the feelings she once felt and adored in order to appear strong to the world.
tw — reader has low self esteem (inferiority complex), talks about harming others, basically kind of dark
a/n — tysm @oyasumimosura for requesting this, I hope it is to your liking! Apologies for taking long with the request, enjoy <3
Tumblr media
she never realized how slowly she started loosing herself after that. the countless nights she spent crying herself to sleep trying to think of anything else but him. though, It was hopeless, months passed by years even.
she changed, quite a lot actually. going from the old sweet girl she used to be to being such a cruel, horrible person. her innocence robbed completely, now nothing left but emptiness and despair. y/n had now become so cold, sadistic, feeling so low in everything with others.
though as much as it hurt, this never stopped her from completing any missions. she was actually called for them more than she could count. seeing how successful the methods she used on her enemy’s drew everyone to beware of her. looking at her with pity and hopefulness.
the first time she ever tried such methods was when she started doubting herself. now becoming what she had hated. playing a long with the enemies, acting like friends. laughing and whispering secrets to each other.
until she killed them. without any mercy or regret in her eyes, mercilessly slashing cuts all throughout her used to be “comrades”. such actions made her wonder, she knew it was because of the certain guy to left her years ago.
“Y/n! I thought we were friends!” “You traitor!” “I’ll kill you!” the same words she heard that day, the words she continued to hear every time. the same words that took him apart from her. for 2 years straight she continued taking missions and requests.
Tumblr media
she stumbled upon her old friends, the 104th trainings corps. mainly the famous eren yeager, mikasa ackerman and armin arlert. instantly remembering her titan shifter. how he could also turn into a titan having all those special abilities he had. being able to harden parts of his body, as if he even needed them anymore since his body was already armored-like skin.
y/n wasn’t dumb, she knew he was still out there, across the ocean, alive. she wanted to hurt him the way he did, even if she never really had the chance to. spending a whole other year researching and discussing it with her new commander, hange zoe.
though she made excuses of only wanting to help the corps with titan shifters, hange knew otherwise. they knew why she wanted to make the experiment a reality so bad. although it sounded useful they had to deny, there was no way the commander would let one of their most important and precious members break themselves over revenge and anger, immediately denying the project the second it was discussed.
Tumblr media
another fail in her career, now wanting to not be near anyone she used to know. she let herself be changed to head instructor for future trainees, like her old instructor keith shadis. her trainees were just like her and the rest of the 104th corps. realizing how later their life’s would be safer due to no longer having to deal with titans. there was no more reason to keep recruiting people but there she was.
her trainees seemed scared of her, just like every other person in the survey corps did. although some were afraid others admired her for how strong and brave she was. everyone seemed to be working well together, having campfires, trainings, etc. until one day during a camp out one of her trainees who was pretty much the only one who talked to her the most, asked such a curious question.
“have you ever been in love, ma’am?”
one simple sentence bringing all those painful memories, she couldn’t cry not in front of her trainees. she had to be strong, stronger for herself, for them, for him.
remembering all those sweet moments, when reiner was worried for her during the harsh trainings. “are you alright y/n?! I can carry that if you need!”
how she would tease him for basically anything, specially for being so soft and gentle towards her making him flustered. all the cheers and encouraging words she heard “confess your love y/n!” “it’s pretty obvious you like each other!” “shut it connie!” “Maybe you can even kiss him tonight!”
she would have, she was going to that day. if only she had done it sooner, would he have stayed? would he have done what he did if they had met earlier in life? nothing could possibly answer that anymore, remembering how he looked at her before he disappeared with zeke and pieck.
sighting she started “Yeah.. I have been before actually..” a faint sad smile placed on her face as she began her story

Word Count: 3467 Requested: yes. Based off ‘505′ Warnings: strong hints to sexual disposition. Spoilers if you squint.
Tumblr media
“I’d probably still adore you with your hands around my neck... I did last time I checked.” -Arctic Monkeys, ‘505′.
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
With hoarse breath and unwavering eyes, you look up to the stars as you speak. “So, you’re really going to do it then?”
“I have to,” you hear him say. His voice has gotten far more mature and calm since the first time you’d heard him speak. Still angry and determined, but in an intelligent, adult way. Eren is a more capable person now. The only thing left to do is wait and see if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing.
“What do you think are the chances of winning?” you question. A shooting star whizzes across the sky at that very moment, and it’s gone before you can think of a wish.
You turn around to face him, but his eyes are already on you. Once upon a time, Eren’s eyes were emerald and teal and deep. Now they’re paler. They are cold and steady as a byproduct of who he’s become. It’s hard not to wonder what he’s thinking about when he looks at you like this, especially since he’s become harder to read over the years.
At first, Eren was one of the most insufferable people you’d ever met. He acted out so often, it was hard to see him as another person of intelligent life. You mostly just minded your business through your cadet years, usually hanging around Reiner, who was also difficult to see as intelligent life. Sometimes you and Eren would argue, but it was never passionate. You just had different world views.
Things got better when you found out what Eren really was. Since you hadn’t made top ten, you could only choose between the Garrison Regiment, or the Scout Regiment. And with Eren’s newly discovered power showing the promise of hope, you decided on the Scouts. He liked that.
After that, it was hard not to mature at the same time as he. Eren often blamed himself for the death and carnage that surrounded the regiment. You were solely responsible for the passing of your best friend. And after everything that happened with the government, almost dying at Shiganshina- you knew you couldn’t stand this much longer. With your relationship with Eren still budding in its early and steamy stages, he was the only one you told of your desertion. You abandoned the corps, finding a small, abandoned farm within wall Maria to hide out in.
Eren was too tired and sick of everything to think you were being cowardly. He wanted to leave too. Maybe come with you. But Eren had plans in the works that he couldn’t leave alone. He visited you less and less. Luckily you never made a fuss.
And now Eren wants to end the world, to save the world. How does he expect you to react to this?
“I just thought I should see you,” Eren replies. You know he’s deflecting your question. You’re not stupid.
You nod slowly, blinking as you think. “Am I going to die?”
Your companion crosses his arms calmly. “Yes,” he tells you.
There it is.
“You know I can’t support you in this, right?” you tell Eren, equally as calm.
He only replies after a moment, also in deep thought. “I know.”
You look back up to the sky, sighing out through your nose. “Why did you come, Eren? Did you want me to tell you that I think you’re doing the right thing? Or was it because you need to let out some anger? I wonder.”
“I did want to see you.”
“Do you still?”
Silence.
“Yes.”
“And I suppose there’s nothing I can do to change your mind?”
“No.”
The stars are glittering with pastel hues, like a rainbow, or kaleidoscope. Each one is a different size, bordering on different shapes, all fusing and melting together like your idea of heaven. You can barely even see the midnight color of the sky through all them. It is beautiful, but it’s also bitter. Everything is bitter, here.
“I didn’t make myself any dinner yet,” you say. “Couldn’t think of anything.”
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
When she was alive, Eren’s mother would make a soup for the family. It was creamy, hot, filled with meat and cheese at the bottom. Eren never liked soup, but he did love that dish. She was always sure to make extra for him, so that he could enjoy it for several days. And although it wasn’t until after she was gone that Eren realized he rarely ever thanked her for it, it was still one of the warmest memories Eren had.
He fills your wooden bowl with it, being awfully generous. He knows that even though you haven’t eaten much in the last few years, you too had grown fond of the soup. He knows no matter how slowly you force it down, you are enjoying it. It burns the roof of your mouth every time, but you’ve never cared. All that matters is the creamy sauce, and the cow cooked to perfection.
You stare at the fireplace beside you, flames cackling and licking upward. Eren sets the bowl in front of you, and takes the seat on the other side. You know he sets his long hair behind his shoulders. You’re already prepared. From your pocket, you produce a stretchy brown hair tie on the verge of snapping, handing it to him.
“Thanks,” he says, even though this routine has happened however many times he’s seen you.
“You’re welcome.”
The soup is as amazing as usual. You’re willing to bet Eren makes it even better than his mother did, but you dare not say it aloud. It’s creamy, perfectly seasoned. It goes down your throat, still steaming.
“Does Mikasa know about this?” you question, taking one more delicious bite.
“No. None of them do,” Eren answers. “Armin will figure it out soon.”
“You want me to kill ‘em?”
Eren shakes his head. To a lot of people, this would be taken as a joke. But this is nowhere near it. Your tone is too casual, too low for it to be humor of any kind. And the way the man across from you reacts- he’s thinking the same thing.
“No.”
“How are they, then?”
Eren thinks as he takes another bite, the warmth creeping up his chest sweetly. “They’re alright for now. I don’t know for how much longer. I can’t see everything.”
“Can you see who’s next?”
He squints at his bowl as if he were angry, but his eyebrows barely move. “Sasha.”
Sasha. She was always a good presence to have around. While she seemed like the type of person who would annoy you, it was hard to hate her. And you admired her keen intuition anyway.
“Will you give her something for me?”
Eren nods. Then you both go back to eating for a few seconds, basking in the orange glow from the flames.
“How are things here?” he questions after a minute.
“The same,” you tell him. “I think the cow might die soon.”
Some people might reply with condolences, or sympathy. But your lover does not, and you do not expect him to. “I’ll get you a new one,” he says flatly, almost like a promise. You nod once.
Despite the atmosphere which can only be described as bitter, you’re glad to see Eren again. You’re glad that he’s alive, and as alright as he can be. The bed is always colder without him, heated up only by your lingering fingers that you pretend are his every other night. Whenever he leaves an article of clothing behind, usually on purpose, you hold off on washing it so it can smell like him for you as long as possible. Then there are the hair ties you keep either in your pocket or on your wrist, specifically for him. The razors in your cabinet he often didn’t even bother using.
Even with the sullen demeanor that had managed to overtake both of you, there was at least one thing you cared about in the world still. Maybe it wasn’t the most conventional kind of caring, or the healthiest coping mechanism. But it was still caring. And all that you cared about was him.
You knew you weren’t Eren’s first priority. You were probably second, or third. It didn’t bother you. Eren’s head was one of the first things lost when the truth was presented to him. It came back coldly and sternly, in contrast to how previously hot and impatient it had been. But by then your head had also grown colder and sterner. In simpler terms, Eren did care for you. He did love you. But he would consider letting you die if it meant achieving what he set out to do, and you knew this.
Across the table, Eren lifts his head to look up at you as he chews slowly. The burning meal slides down his throat easily, albeit painfully. It doesn’t even register with him, his piercing eyes slowly gaining a glint from the fire light.
You meet his eyes after a few seconds, feeling them on you. You don’t say a word, don’t even give a questioning look. You just hold him patiently, which is something the two of you find yourself doing often.
“You can’t stop it,” Eren speaks, looking you dead in the eyes with a steady gaze. There is love behind his eyes, far behind the anger, but you can tell from the tone of voice he is trying to tell you something as if it were an order. Your lips part slightly from the intensity radiating from your lover, who doesn’t move a muscle. “You’ll be free soon.”
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
Dinner ends. Eren helps clean up the dishes for you and goes to get water from your well so you can clean easier. You already know from the way his thumb brushed against your own when you took the bowls that you’ll likely be bent over the sink in a few minutes, which you don’t mind, but you wonder if he’ll be willing to be softer than usual as an apology for what he’d said earlier.
He’d meant to scare you. You’re intelligent enough to figure that out. Even though you don’t scare easy, and you didn’t even give an extreme reaction, the look in Eren’s eyes had made your heart drop to your stomach. Sometimes you forget that Eren sees everything. Then he says something like that to remind you in the most memorable way.
The wooden door opens and closes behind you. Boots scuff the ground for a few seconds, drawing closer and closer as something in you sparks with anticipation, as it always does. A pail of water hits the surface beside you, partially sloshing over the sides, shining silver in the moonlight from the tall window in front of you. Finally, ultra hot hands slide around your waist and push gently but tightly against where your ribs diverge.
A jaw leans down on your right shoulder, chin poking against your collarbone. Locks of hair brush against your own, just as the hand on the left runs across your side to finally put a small band in your pocket.
“I did miss you,” Eren’s low voice seemingly growls, his chest rumbling softly against your back.
“I was thinking about you,” you admit with monotone, knowing your lover can read through it like as easily as a knife slices through skin.
“I hope I didn’t worry you,” he says, though you can also read through his own tone. He probably didn’t care about worrying you. He definitely doesn’t still.
“You didn’t.”
You place a both bowls in the sink, running your fingers over the dirty spoons. Eren’s orbs follow your movement. You can feel his chin change positions ever so slightly in the coming seconds.
“Can you pass me the rag?” you ask, eyes focused on a piece of food on the spoon that doesn’t even exist.
In response, Eren doesn’t pass you anything. Only his right hand gives you any kind of acknowledgement, passing from on your ribs to down lower. His fingertips skin over the erogenous zone under the waistband of your undergarments.
“I worried about you,” Eren murmurs boldly. The hot fingertips pass under the cloth finally, pricks of stubble on his jaw scratching your neck and shoulder as he shifts. “I wanted you to be okay.” His left hand raises to grasp the breast above it. Slowly at first, then firmly, like a warning. Everything is a warning with him.
Your head lulls back uncontrollably. The back of your hair matts up as it rolls against his own shoulder.
“I said you worried me,” your partner grumbles. “Did you hear me?”
“No,” you lie lowly, refusing to let your voice shake despite the shiver in your throat.
“Mm,” Eren hums in condescending understanding. A force presses against your core, which has turned burning hot and ice cold at the same time. The force pulls away, a string of something smooth and slimy following it that makes a sound draw from your lips. It’s high pitched, weak, and unstoppable. You’d be embarrassed if you weren’t so associated with Eren.
His hand gives your breast a firm squeeze, soreness blossoming from the center. Your back arches quickly and returns lax against him, though now something pokes against your bottom that makes your eyes pop open with a new alertness. Eren’s hand gives you no time again. From your chest, it flies to your throat, holding it back with soft strictness as the other finally dips into the hot pool between your hips.
“I worried about you.”
A strangled groan releases from between your lips again, this time fully carried up through the air. To Eren, it must sound like nothing more than music, or background noise.
Thick cylinders pump inside you to the knuckle. They feel better than your own. They always have.
It feels good. Full. Tight and fast and like the inside of you is quivering under the weight of something that you can’t see or hear. Eren is like a blanket supporting you from falling over, keeping you upright with his grip and his fingers buried inside of you. Prodding every angle, every spot. Not necessarily romantically, but still lovingly. He has always had this goal during intimacy. Nothing matters but communicating to you just how close he wants to be.
“Eren,” you choke, a dribble of spit sliding from the corner of your lips.
“Again,” he hisses in response. His fingers hit a tight spot, making every muscle in your body clench at the same time.
You don’t say another word, your mouth hanging partially open as you focus on everything around you. And it’s all Eren Jaeger. His smell, his growls, his voice, his breathing, his chest, his muscles, his hair, his anger, his bitterness, his intelligence, his determination. It’s overwhelming. It reminds you of getting swept in one of those waves at the ocean he described to you. He’s yours. No- more likely, you’re his. End of story.
“I said again.”
“Eren,” you moan.
His head nuzzles into your neck comfortingly, his fingers pushing faster and harder. You can feel how warm you are, never mind how slick. And the way your own body holds around his digits every time he pulls away is enough to make you all the more warm and slick.
But then...
What is he doing?
He had said “you’ll be free soon”. And yet, here he is, gripping you tightly as he forces you into the corner of submitting. And yes, it is hot. It arouses you as it always has. But something about it makes your stomach turn into a knot of unpleasantness, in contrast to the other one of liquid pleasure.
“Eren,” you strain, squirming against him.
Eren speeds up again. A grunt falls from his own mouth from his own power, and you know he’s getting off almost as much as you are. It doesn’t stop feeling good. Feeling euphoric.
It’s getting rougher. Rougher and harder and faster, more intense.
“Eren.”
Another gruff moan from him.
“Eren! Stop! Stop!”
Eren’s palm softens away at once. It lifts away, his eyes opening and his hand stilling inside of you. He watches you shake as you gaze up to the ceiling, wide eyed. Your thighs sputter, entire body twitching. You didn’t cum.
His eyes trail over you. You’ve worked up a steady sweat glistening and glowing, shivering and shaking and quaking because of him in the best way. You’re his. His partner, his friend, his ally he knows for a fact he can rely on.
“C-can we... Eren...”
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
Drips of water dribbling down Eren’s temple. One of your hands are threaded in his brunette locks, holding them back so you can have an uninterrupted view. The other hand is dabbing cloth against his forehead and hairline, bathing him softly.
He’d gone a while without bathing again. You could tell. Eren’s eyes are glued to yours, deep teal memorizing all the flecks in your own as if he hadn’t a million times over.
Eren loves you. Dearly. He’d travel all seven hours and forty five minutes just to tell you that. He doesn’t know what made you stop earlier. He doesn’t ask. But he’s not mad. Overall, Eren understands that it doesn’t matter what you asked to stop for. You give the word, he obeys. Not because he has to, but because he loves you.
Still, he knows something is wrong. You don’t show it. You’re steady, calm, mature, apathetic as always. But in the pit of Eren’s stomach, something brews. A warm, strange feeling of intuition and omniscience.
“You look very pretty today,” Eren ventures, wondering only of your response. “Did I tell you that?”
Your eyes squint. “Thank you,” you reply back.
The cloth continues to rub against his skin, cleaning something that probably doesn’t even exist. Dirt, maybe. Eren’s stopped taking care of his skin in the past few years.
“You’re welcome.”
Your eyes squint again. This time, they gloss over with sharp wetness like glass. The eyebrows crease like a break, your bottom lip trembling as you suck it between your teeth.
He doesn’t know what he was expecting. But your lover wasn’t expecting this.
Eren hates when you cry. He can remember the first time he’d seen it, but not the most recent. You didn’t cry often- you were strong. Crying over something as useless and flimsy as emotions didn’t seem worth it. So what was this for? What were you about to make Eren break down inside over?
Your hand falls limply from his forehead. Shoulders hunch over in defeat, staring down at the floor as your hair covers over your face. And then the sniffles come, choked out coughs like sobs.
Eren can see the lightest of bruises he’d left on you from earlier, but you’d never had a problem with it before. No, it was something else. But what?
Silent, your teeth grit together as you wince, tears streaming down your face inexplicably.
“Earlier w-when you,” you gulp, snot beginning to form, “when you- I did worry a-about you. I- I don’t know why I didn’t...”
You stumble forward. Eren stands from your bath tub to catch you as you slump against him tiredly.
“I hate it when you go.”
Eren switches positions with you, pushing you down to sit on the edge of the tub. He takes the wet rag from your hand and holds your shoulder back so he can have a good look at you. Then the cloth dabs against your own forehead, just as you had done to him.
“I hate it here,” you sigh, a single tear drop blurring your vision as it falls finally.
Your lover moves the cloth from your head to your cheeks, smearing the wetness into your skin and away. They moisten and dry, your eyes red and shiny. Eren tilts your head up under your jaw, creasing his brows and using the towel to clean closer to your eyes.
“If it helps,” he says, looking straight into your eyes, “you’re crying, but I still think you look pretty.”
You’d be lying if you said that didn’t help even a little, because you love him.
A soft smile creeps to your lips, your hands dropping in between your thighs.

Erwin is a busy man, but he'd always make time for you if you required it. In the beginning of your cold, he believed when you said you were fine and you could continue like normal. But when Erwin sees just how much your cold is wearing you down, he gently ushers you to bed. Unless it's bad, he's not going to call out of work, but he's bringing you comfort food and a new movie each night after work. Erwin makes sure before he leaves in the morning that you have a water, an electrolyte bottle, snacks, and enough supplies so you barely have to get out of bed until he gets home. Expect a lot of forehead and hand kisses since he can't kiss you on the lips.
Living with Levi, you'll find you generally get common colds less often. Yes, he cleans regularly, but he also makes sure you're taking vitamins and that 80% of the food you two make is nutrient packed(except for on Fridays). Levi knows the second you're not feeling perfect and he tries to ask if there's anything else going on that's making you look so sad. When he figures out that it's a cold he's upping your vitamins and happily making you soup. Levi is thrifty and knowledgeable when it comes to treating illnesses holistically, adding honey to your tea and turmeric to the stew. If somehow your sickness progresses you will be on bed (or couch) rest. Levi absolutely babies you when you're sick, gladly picking up any slack around the house while you're recovering.
Eren might be a little clueless. Unless your symptoms are obvious it'll go over his head a bit. But!! If you're clearly physically ill he is going into protector mode. Eren sends you to bed and doesn't take no for an answer. Eren isn't the best at cooking, but he's texting his mom for her recipes (which, she ends up just bringing over food for you). Or he's going to the store and picking up pre-made foods. If Eren sees you out of bed he will get pouty and drag you back, "This is my one chance to take care of you for a change, let me do it!" If you have medicine to take he has alarms set on his phone so he can help remind you. Eren insists on giving you a bath when your sick, attentively washing your body before helping you dry off and get into new pj's, he's a firm believer that baths instantly make a person feel better.
Zeke looks at you uncomfortably when you show signs of being ill. Only because he fears the absolute worst. When he's reassured it's just a cold his nerves fade away. Zeke won't call off work to take care of you, but instead works his schedule around taking care of you. Zeke comes home during his lunch break to check on you, knowing that if you felt worse you wouldn't tell him over text, so he makes sure for himself. Speaking of which, Zeke's constantly texting you through the day. You're stuck in bed as per his directions but he still wants updates like you're doing something big and important. Zeke makes dinners in the morning that cook throughout the day so they'll be done when he gets home, absolutely babying you until you're better.
Reiner goes into complete caregiver mode when you're sick. If you're sick he's sick. 😤 He's calling out of work and cuddling you all day long, rubbing your back and letting you bellyache and cry to him as much as you need. Reiner cooks three meals a day for you, even if you can only stomach a couple bites. It's times like this that his inner househusband comes out because he's got this completely under control, the bills are paid, the laundry's done, the dishes are washed, he doesn't let anything start sliding while you're down for the count. Reiner is by far one of the best people to get sick around because he's so attentive and caring. You'll get head smooches and constant reassurance until you're better. But... chances are then he'll be sick after you and then it will be your turn to baby Reiner.
Nurse Porco? Nurse Porco. Leave it to him because you'll be taken so well care of. Porco has the soup on the second you have a sniffle, telling you that you need to take it easy. He will straight up banish you to the bedroom for nap time, because just one look at you and it was clear you were fighting to stay awake. Porco follows you though and tucks you in, playing soft music and diffusing some oils to help you breathe easier. He'll hold you at night and try to accommodate your fever sweats, knowing which over the counter medicine will help you best. Porco knows all your go-to comfort items and has them on standby to help you through the illness, even giving you extra attention when you know he had a meeting scheduled. With Porco by your side you definitely won't want for anything.

Jelly! I've been looking up Makaton since I saw your response to my demand haha
I didn't know anything about this! The fact that it goes beyond the deaf community and instead to many different people that have trouble communicating makes it so moving to me!
If you're comfortable with it only, I'd love a little content of this from you! Since some of the conditions I see might be triggering and upsetting, maybe some post war Levi bit? Where reader is trying to teach him after his accident?
And since I'm a sucker for fluff, some type of happy or hopeful ending.
Only if you want! <3
Hiiiii! I'm on it <3 I have a little something with post-war Levi and the reader. The idea is the reader is injured and needs to learn sign language and Levi learns it so he can talk to her again because he has feelings for her. It's going to be FULL of fluff.
I'll show you I love you.
Pairing: Levi x Deaf!Reader
Genre and tags: romance, falling in love, confessions, post-war Levi and pre-war Levi, long romance, the reader in injured, the reader has lost hearing, sign language, fluff, happy ending, cannon world.
Concept: During the attack to capture Zeke and stop Reiner and Bertholdt, the reader gets injured when Bertholdt transforms. Levi is devastated at losing Erwin, but he also finds out that you, the woman he secretly loves, has been hurt. Levi stays by your side during your recovery, but you are taking your injury hard. Your ear and neck are burned on one side and your hearing has gone from the explosion. You snap emotionally and don't let Levi near you for a while, then you allow him back to see you when you're better mentally. The two of you get close, but then he has to go to war. You can't go to fight with him, so you wait. Levi returns to you hurt, but you two find a light in the dark. You joke around about him missing two fingers, therefore his sign language is a little funny. You both make the most of your life and love each other.
Note for readers: Whenever they use sign language the writing will look like this.
Panic and heartbreak. Levi was in a constant state of both of these feelings. He'd watched his best friend die, saw his dear friend injure her eye and now he'd discovered that you were in the hospital. He needed to say goodbye to Erwin, but he also wanted to check on you. Levi had fallen for you and had loved you for a long time. You'd joined Hange's team a while back.
You were the communicator between Hange and the other groups, so you were often rushed off your feet like Moblit was. Levi spent a lot of time with you and you two became joined at the hip. However, he had to stop being around you so much when Eren joined and then new cadets signed up to the scouts. He had to train the kids before he could be around you. You'd both sit on the roof of the base together drink tea, or booze as you stared at the stars.
Levi treasured you and your moments together. You were his everything and he'd be lost without you.
He made his way to the hospital, then gave your name. He followed the nurse to your room to see you sleeping in bed with the right side of your face bound up and blood on the bandage. Your left ear was also covered up and blood was seeping into it. Your right was bound up as well, which meant you'd been burned up badly.
He sat down and put his head in his hands. He'd been so focused on getting Zeke, that he wasn't there to protect you and it killed him. He lifted his head when the doctor arrived. He watched them check on you, then note down everything and change your meds. Levi waited patiently because you getting better was a priority for him.
Levi cleared his throat when he saw his chance. "How is she?"
The doctor sighed. "Well Captain, she's strong. She's fighting this."
"Good." He looked at you and watched the nurse change your bandages showing off your bloodied and charred skin. "Oh, God."
The doctor placed his hand on Levi's shoulder. "The burns look worse than they actually are. I'm certain they will heal up no problem." He looked at you. "Main concern is her ears. She hasn't been awake long enough for us to see if she can hear, if not she's going to have to learn sign language.
Levi nodded as he fought tears. "Yeah. Ah, do you have a book on sign language? I want to learn some things just in case."
The doctor nodded. "Of course, follow me."
Levi took the book from the doctor when they went to his office. Levi studied the book and practised with Hange a little to make sure he had everything perfect. Levi wanted to talk to you. He wanted to communicate his feelings to you as much as possible. He wanted you to feel comfortable. He knew you'd been awake for a while, so he was giving you space to adjust and to heal.
He visited you finally with flowers in hand. Levi couldn't wait to see you and talk to you. He wanted to see how you were doing if you were well and if you wanted to go home with him after it was safe. Levi wanted to look after you and be your personal nurse.
You looked up at Levi as he entered your room. You smiled brightly at finally seeing him. Levi was your first visitor and you had feelings for him, so it was the best of both worlds for you. Your smile slowly dropped when Levi's mouth was moving, but nothing was coming out. You watched his lips, but you couldn't figure out what he was saying to you.
Levi sat on the chair and showed you the flowers. "I got these for you. I thought it'd cheer you up." He frowned a little, then he said your name. "I was so scared when I heard about you. You deserve better, you really do." He blushed a little. "I have to confess brat. I was worried about you so much because I can't lose you. I'm in love with you." He looked you in the eyes to see you were crying. "What's wrong?"
You covered your ears, then uncovered them. You repeated this over and over. You cried hard, but you couldn't hear your own cries of anguish. You hit your ears with balled-up fists in frustration. You missed hearing Levi say your name. You wanted to so badly hear him say it again, but there was just nothing. You didn't even hear ringing in your ears, it was just nothing.
Levi grabbed your hands and stopped you from hitting yourself further. "Stop." He cupped your face. "You really can't hear, can you?" He took your hand and placed it around his neck so you could feel the vibrations of his voice. He said your name and saw you gasp at feeling him speak. He smiled at you. "I'll help you. I swear."
You pulled back from Levi and smiled a little. You stared at the flowers, then signed badly because you were still learning. "For me?"
Levi nodded. "Yes. I could sign, but nodding is easier." He handed the flowers over to you. "For you."
You smiled and hugged them, then you looked to Levi. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
You bit your lip and hummed, then you frowned. "You." You winced a little as you tried to remember. "You look." You didn't know how to sign good, so you gave him the thumbs up.
Levi smiled at you. "Thank you."
You welled up a little, then rubbed your tears. You felt so trapped and useless. "Sorry."
Levi sat on the bed, then held your hands tightly. He kissed your hands to comfort you, but you kept crying. "How the hell do I fix this. I've got to do something better." Levi looked to your nurse coming in. "Are you here to change her bandages?"
The nurse nodded. "Yes. They're not so bad now, but we still have to cover them."
You pulled from Levi's touch and panicked. You didn't want him to see you this way. You thought you were broken and he deserved better. "Go."
Levi frowned. "Go?"
You nodded and looked away from him as you felt embarrassed. "Sorry."
The nurse smiled. "I think she doesn't want you to see her this way. I know you care about her, but she just wants some space. You have to remember, one minute she was fighting with others, then the next there was a bang and she wakes up here with no hearing and burns on her."
Levi stood up. "You're right. I'll come back another time." Levi smiled and waved to you.
You sniffed, then waved back.
Levi left you and went back to work with the scouts for the day. He returned the next day but was told he couldn't see you. Levi was angry at first and demanded to see you, but the hospital informed him that you had asked for him to not see you. You'd left him a letter asking him to give you time. You said you needed to heal up and face what has happened to you. You appreciated him and everything he did, but you were finding this hard and needed to focus.
Levi gave you your space but kept learning sign language for when you welcomed him back. He was told you had healed up and he paid for you to be moved to a nice home for recovering soldiers. Levi wanted you to be with him, but he understood you wanted to be independent. He kept writing to you this whole time and you both were apart for a year. It wasn't perfect, but he was glad you wrote to him and didn't give up on him. You might have hidden away physically, but you didn't connection wise.
He was shocked when you walked into his office one day all by yourself with no helper. You were wearing such a cute long skirt with an adorable top. Your skin was shiny on the right side of your neck and ear area, along with parts of your right arm and hand. You'd healed well. You were looking around his office with a present and flowers in hand. You looked over to him and put everything on the desk.
Levi stood up and looked over the items, then smiled at you. Levi blushed. "Thank you. These for me?"
You nodded. "I'm saying thank you for everything you've done for me."
Levi opened the present to see it was rare tea. "Thank you. Do you want some?"
You nodded to him and smiled. You took a seat on his sofa and watched Levi closely. You couldn't call out to him and talk casually, so you had to wait until he was looking at you for you to say something. You didn't mind though, because it meant you could both think about what to say to each other.
Levi was a little flustered and wasn't sure what to say. The letters you both sent to each other were romantic in nature full of feelings, so it was a little nerve-wracking for him. He hurried over to you and handed you your tea, then he sat and smiled at you.
You smiled back, then put your hand under his cup and lifted.
Levi blushed. "Oh! Drink." He winced at not signing. "Sorry."
You hummed a laugh. "It is okay."
He sighed, then sipped his tea and hummed. He couldn't believe tea could taste this good. He put his cup down. "Best tea ever."
"Good." You blushed a little. "Do you still want a tea shop?"
He nodded, then blushed when he took the plunge. "I want you to run it with me. Will you?"
You nodded and felt happy. Life in the scouts was over for you, so you had to think of the future. "I'll do stock taking."
"Perfect."
You picked up your tea, then sipped it. You blushed a little at how quiet it was. You shuffled a little closer to Levi, then you leaned over and kissed his cheek. You blushed when Levi turned his head and gazed at you. You blushed even more, then you downed your tea and slammed it on the table. You stood up and went to leave.
Levi grabbed your wrist, then stood up and pulled you to face him. "Did you mean it?" He turned your head when you looked away. "Look at me. Do you mean the kiss?"
You nodded shyly.
Levi held your arms and pulled you closer. He made you look at him again. "Can I kiss you?"
You nodded loads.
Levi smiled a little, then lightly kissed your lips. He sighed at finally being able to kiss you. He cupped the back of your neck, then nipped your lip and deepened the kiss to a half open mouthed kiss. He enjoyed and melted in this moment. He pulled back and lightly kissed your lips.
You placed your fingers on your lips as you blushed at feeling Levi's lips and tongue still. You smiled a little. "That was a perfect kiss. I enjoyed it. Can we do it more?"
Levi laughed and nodded. "I like you. I've liked you for a while."
"Me too." You bit your lip and smiled. "No more running. I want you and me."
Levi kissed you lightly and smiled. "I want you to live with me. I'll take care of you and we can be in a romantic relationship together."
You nodded a lot and welled up as you did. You hugged Levi tightly and gripped his back tightly.
Levi hugged you back, then let out a long happy sigh. Levi and you spent the rest of your time together in pure bliss. You moved in with him and he took great care of you the whole time. You both knew a war was coming, but you had to make the most of your time together. Your first time in the bedroom was a little challenge, because you could only talk through sign, but it did turn out wonderful. It soon became perfect because the sex was very sensual.
You and Levi talked about marriage and kids, but you wanted to wait for the war to be over. The war shook you and Levi. You struggled to let him go when he was being sent away. You held onto him so tightly, then you released him and promised you'd wait. You did exactly as you promised and waited for him. While he was gone, you worked hard on setting up a tea shop, so you could open up as soon as Levi returned to you.
When Levi came back, you were in shock at first because of the state he was in. You suddenly became his carer and helped him while his knee wasn't working correctly. You even helped him when he practiced walking to train his knee again. You saw Levi was emotional about being hurt, but you understood because you'd been there. You knew how he felt. So, you lightened the mood when you could.
You sat in yours and Levi's garden with a cup of tea as you both enjoyed the sun. You smiled at Levi. "Are you okay?"
"I'm alright. Knee is stiff."
You snorted a laugh. "It's like you have a lisp."
Levi growled. "Tch, you little shit."
"I'm not a little shit."
Levi's eyes widened. "You heard me?"
You shook your head and tapped your lips. "I read your lips."
Levi hummed in thought, then looked right at you and said your name. "I love you."
You gasped, then welled up at seeing him say it. "I love you too." You sniffed and built up the courage to speak. "I. Love. You. Levi."
Levi smiled at you. "That sounded perfect."
You took Levi's hands, then kissed them all over. You leaned closer and kissed Levi. "So, you still want kids?"
Levi blushed hard, then nodded. "I would love kids."
You grinned at him. "Then lets start trying."

when we were young random headcanons (1/???)
warnings: none besides this isn’t proofread and i was just spittin bc i’m bored LOL
~~~~~
- y/n and annie would talk a lot of shit about the boys during training breaks growing up
- pieck would always ask y/n to hangout a lot growing up but since she was always with annie that didn’t happen a lot. but when y/n would come around the two of them would have so much fun together.
- speaking of pieck; her family loves y/n. that’s why pieck’s dad made y/n the star necklace before she left for paradis. they thought of y/n as another daughter.
- pieck brings up y/n the most out of all of the warriors who stayed in marley, even more than porco. pieck feels about y/n the way y/n feels about annie.
- porco thinks a lot about y/n when she’s away in paradis. he has a million tattered love letters in his desk he wants to give her when she comes back
- porco developed a crush on y/n when there was a week annie was out sick from training. he liked her sense of humor
- if it wasn’t for the titan curse, porco sometimes thinks about what spending a life with y/n would be like, if they had some chance at normalcy. even though he knows deep down you’ll never feel that way about him. he likes the make pretend for brief moments.
-if you never met jean,stayed in marley and never inherited a titan; you’d definitely end up marrying porco
- reiner wanted a friendship with y/n growing up but things never worked out the way he wanted to.
- he thought you were funny but he’d never let you know that
- above all, reiner really admired you growing up and was totally jealous of how naturally things came to you.
- he’s happy you start talking to him again in the cadets. (again, even though he’d never let you know.)
- y/n and reiner are each other’s safe space but they’d never ever admit it
- annie pictured you being in her life until you both died
- like porco, she thinks about what a life with you could’ve been if you had normal lives. she used to think you guys would be friends forever but too much shit changed you both since coming to paradis
- okay speaking of paradis
-jean
-jean always thinks it but his words don’t do justice for how truly he means it : you are and will forever be the prettiest girl he’ll ever meet
- he’s always doodled random people when he’s bored but ever since he met y/n, for some reason his doodles always end up looking like you
- jean used to attempt to flirt with y/n but gave up when he realized how much better you were at it. plus he found the more acted like himself, you liked that more
- y/n has an awful habit of picking at her fingers. 90 percent of the time she won’t even notice she’s doing it but you know who does? you guessed it. jean.
- he’ll never call you out on it because he doesn’t want to make you embarrassed. so he find if he just slowly intertwines his fingers with yours you’ll quit it. he’s happy it helps you but it’s definitely his excuse just to hold your hand
- y/n is a year and half older than jean and he’ll never not let her live it down. he jokes all of the time about liking “older women” just to piss her off.
- that doesn’t mean y/n won’t use “WELL I’M OLDER THAN YOU” in arguments though just to piss jean off as equally much
- after the first cliff encounter, despite everything, jean still ended up writing his mom back because he promised you he would
- and in the letter he wrote his mom he told her about you
- sasha and connie tease jean so much about liking you
- but they notice since jean met you he’s happier and they’re just happy for that
- anyways
- one time connie made a deez nuts joke at the table during dinner and no one laughed but you. ever since then connie always liked you
- sasha will refer to you as her “gloomy little brat” but she likes how you contrast her. she’s thankful she met you
- just like jean, sasha also wrote her family about you. she was so excited to have a bunkie like you, she just HAD to tell them. as she gets to you know she absolutely sees you as a sister
- speaking of siblings let’s talk ab paul
- paul would bring y/n home little gifts from wherever he was sent off to. it’s something she always looked forward to when he came home
- y/n kept every single gift and they’re still in her childhood home in marley
- when candidate choosing was happening paul got to suggest who should inherit his titan. the mayhem titan always went to someone in your family
- he knew how much porco cared about you; so he suggested porco should be the one to inherit his titan and not you
- obviously things worked out differently, but he just wanted to dream for a moment about you living a normal life
- when paul was back home in marley, he’d play piano in his free time.
- your family had this real nice wooden one in your living room he’s practice on
- he was actually really good and tried teaching you some but you were ass at it
- so you’d just lay on the couch and listen to him play as you fell asleep
- since paul died, no one has touched the piano in your house
- his room also remained untouched, even after all these years
- paul also did yn’s hair sometimes. it would just be a ponytail and it looked horrendous tbh. there were bumps everywhere and a crooked bow tied in the back but you still wore it just bc your brother tried for you
- when you inherit a titan shifters titan, you inherit their memories
- since you took your brothers titan, you’re not sure how much of his memories you even see. you both had similar childhoods so sometimes it feels like both of your memories were just combined
- sometimes you’ll have dreams about paul and things he did, but you don’t know if they’re just meaningless dreams or his memories. you try not to think about it or else you start crying
~~~~~
LOL i have more but for now i hope y’all enjoy theses. idk when chapter 11 will be out and if you ask i’ll bite you 😟😟😟😟😟😟
