I do draw WLB full time!

i quit my warehouse job in 2019 to focus on consistent uploads for wlb. I kind of jumped the gun a bit since wlb was only just launching, but it ended up working out.

I can never thank patreon/kofi supporters enough, i cannot stress how miserable i was in my warehouse job near the end. I am very fortunate to be able to draw comics and make enough for my bills.

hello!

nope! there's no reason why it would be. intersex people fall outside of the sex binary. non binary people fall outside of the gender binary. no conflicting concepts here, these are two unique experiences that can and do have overlap, but don't have to. identifying outside of the gender binary does not insult people who were born with characteristics that fall outside of the sex binary. they're two different experiences that don't take anything from the other.

if anything, non binary people can be powerful intersex allies, and vice versa. we have a lot of common experiences and share a lot of similar paths in life. many intersex people are non binary, but it's not a requirement to be non binary, and it's not offensive to be an enby if you're not intersex :)

I saw someone saying that us who don't like Filbrick only have a problem with him kicking Stan out because Stan was still a teenager and if he wasn't we wouldn't even care.

That is not even remotely true. Even without Filbrick kicking an underage Stan out, he's still extremely abusive. He still pushed his toxic ideas of masculinity onto his sons. He still did things like making Stan stand outside with a sign that said "Extra Stan $3 or Better Offer" over a failed test. He still made Ford feel the only value he had was his intelligence. There are plenty of other reasons to hate Filbrick, because he's a shitty abusive parent even without him kicking Stan out. Just because that's the worst thing he did doesn't mean that's the only thing he did wrong.

how do you make the fashion posts? you must have designed hundreds of outfits at this point

I liken it to drawing trees. Hopefully I can make that make sense. If you sit down and draw a lot of trees of different kinds, or plants, you remember that stuff later and the variety starts to fill itself in after a time. It's like learning an alphabet, but limb and leaf shapes, I guess.

I have a lot of fashion books, but not like fashion catalogues. I have books like Folk and Festival Costume that are hand illustrated. Seeing someone else capture fabric weight and folds in lineart has been a huge help for me, and there are lots (lots) of fashion books that do that. Kinda like how there are a lot of art books took talk about lineart techniques for plants. If you're an artist and can't get books outright, I think internet archive lends digital copies.

not in my universe nah, the eyes aren’t the trancing part, it’s just indicative that they’re tranced :)

so i've gotten this question a few times, and i keep meaning to answer it - so let's do that now!!

in short: yes, i'd LOVE to make fields of mistria merch in the future!!

as of right now though, i personally don't feel comfortable profiting from an indie game 1) before the game is officially fully released, but more importantly 2) before they share a clear merch policy.

i might make a couple things for myself, and then make those available if NPC studios ever allow fanmerch - so if you have any suggestions of what you'd like to see, you're always more than welcome to send them my way & i'd be happy to take them into consideration!!! (❁´◡`❁)

What's something you learned about comic making/comic drawing through your experience? Like any mistakes you made and learned from? :3

I've learned so many things, i guess the biggest i can think of is simplify simplify simplify.

Don't give characters more than 3 colors, 4 tops. No gradients. Fuck gradients. Fuck stripes too but they look nice so : / I guess they get to stay.

Don't keep redoing panels, I give my panels two attempts max and then pick the better of the two. You have to move on or you will be perfecting 1 panel for a week that people will glance at for 3 seconds and then be behind on all other work. Dont do it, it's okay to look off. Nothing can be perfect, it's okay.

And also I think i've learned that it's okay to just, change things. Like if you're getting burnt out on something and need to draw differently, just do it. Consistency doesn't matter if nothing is getting done.

For example I hate backgrounds dearly, so i switch between lineless or lined, or textured or gradients. I get so bored with them. If I stuck with the same thing for 800 pages, i'd turn into a bird and fly away.

It's okay to do new things with art / art styles / methods, most readers will not notice, and those who do won't mind. Be free

This might be a silly question but is tgel supposed to be rubbed in when applied or was I just supposed to just swipe it on? I recently swapped to gel after struggling with injections for months so today was my first shot and was fearful that I might have goofed up (even more so given my last injection was on the 31st...)

hello good question!

it's meant to be rubbed into the skin! you'll want to massage it into the skin until its no longer wet feeling, if it's let to stay on the surface of the skin it will begin evaporating pretty quickly due to the gel being alcohol based and you will lose a lot of the medication. a lot of the medication will also get lost this way by being transferred on to clothing and other surfaces. it doesn't take much rubbing, just make sure that your skin doesn't still feel wet to the touch, and if you're still concerned beyond that, you can apply a layer of lotion after you have rubbed it into your skin and it no longer feels wet to help create a barrier between the medication and your clothes and other surfaces.

i think when someone starts taking HRT in a new format, it's only natural to not know what you're doing for the first few times you take it. i certainly know i was very nervous about doing my own injections at first, i even had my best friend at the time do my first one because i was nervous about messing it up. it's alright! luckily the changes from HRT are supposed to come on pretty slowly so if you do 'mess up' a few doses it's alright. as long as you make sure to rub the gel into your skin until it no longer feels wet to the touch, you should be good! if you have any more questions feel free to ask! good luck with your journey!
