I’m really enjoying Monstress written by Marjorie Liu and illustrated by Sana Takeda (@sanatakedaart).  When I read the first one, I was dubious whether this would be like many other series with an interesting world but an endless, meandering, unplanned plot.  But it seemed to promise a meaningful, moving story.  After reading the second, I’m very happy to say I’m convinced the series is making good on its promise; it will have real payoff.  The writing and the illustrations are top notch.  I really recommend Monstress.
