A couple weeks ago Cowface filmed once again. This time it was a commercial for a little community outside of Seattle. The city itself is named, Black Diamond. We didn’t see much as it was a trip for work only but what I can tell you is that Mt. Rainier was in every view. I love this mountain. He’s so beautiful.
I always ask what his favourite part of his jobs are and this time he answered the cast. The “father” and “mother” were so kind with him and he enjoyed every minute of their company.
I hope to work with them again sometime. Thank you for being so kind to my boy.

Cowface did an amazing commercial back in February 2020! I’ve been so excited for this one to come out because I knew it’d be beautiful.  We met the most amazing directors and producers this time around. Cowface has gotten better acting as well. Together, they made a story come to life. I’ve received a lot of feedback including people mentioning that they were crying watching this. I hope it brings joy to people who are quarantined currently. I also am crossing my fingers for this company. They’ve tried opening in 2 other cities previously but didn’t make it. Now they are launching in Seattle. This couldn’t be a more perfect time for a drone delivery service, right?
I asked if we could keep the cast prop and have them sign it. Our wish was granted!
I hope they look for us again in any future projects.

This was a short film he was casted for back in February 2020. It was his first horror film to be apart of. He loves haunted houses and will watch scary movies with me. But over the last year he’s not picking them out first. However, he had so much fun. It was a freezing cold day. The kids had to barefoot and only covered with what you see but they pulled through and made it. The film was based off of Bambi and Rob Zombie. Funny thing is, the director, I found out used to work for my current employee now. When I showed my co-workers the film they were all surprised to see his name, saying I missed him by only a few years. What a small world!
You can catch the film linked below. Cowface’s credit is Young Son.

Cowface and I take turns picking concerts. Coldplay was amazing for the both of us. Katy Perry was his choice and the total opposite of what I’d pick. Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson was right up my alley. I’ve been wanting to see Manson since 1997 when he was at his prime. This type of music Cowface could live without but as a team he goes when it’s my turn as I did for him. I anticipated this event for months. I couldn’t believe we were actually going. I didn’t read too much about the concert or the read the ticket until the day of. I knew when we were going but the night before I noticed the time was 2PM. By 12:30PM we arrived at White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA. It was only then that I realized it was weird for Zombie to play at this time during the afternoon. After parking and waiting in line I overheard that it was a Rock Fest with like 11 opening bands! OMG. What did I do? I wasn’t prepared. I brought money but I didn’t bring more than 4 smokes or think of sneaking any food or drinks in with us because I thought it was a normal concert that we’d be there maybe 3-3.5 hours. Not an entire day! Luckily for us, popcorn was free refills and so was Mountain Dew. I ended up buying only a cheeseburger for $15 once during our time there. Our first stop, though, was to buy t-shirts. I grabbed one with tour dates and I grabbed one for him of Rob Zombie’s, "No fucks given ever.” I know it’s not for kids but I bought a Medium so I can wear it, too. We had the 3rd row from the very front just outside of the mosh pit seats. They were the best and for the price I better have been happy. However, with that long period of time being there we walked around a bunch. The other bands opening were unknown to me so we’d walk the shops and head up to the open lawn area to run around a bit. That would have been the best place to be if you brought your kids, which many people did. However, being that far back on the lawn there’s no way you could see them on stage. I’m glad we were where we were. We did find Mario up there!! How funny. That made Cowface’s day. When it was showtime for Manson we were back in our seats. One band, Butcher Babies, was there. It was two females who are heavy metal. I haven’t heard of them before and Cowface wasn’t sure what to expect either. One minute they were soft and then screaming into the mic. He giggled. “They have man voices!”. Being there literally all day, Manson came on about 7:15PM and Zombie around 9PM. Cowface was tired and I had to keep him enthused by wrapping his arms around my shoulders and jumping up and down with him. It was fine. Zombie would have been an excellent show if you were stoned or drunk. Manson was the worst I’ve ever seen. If someone paid for my tickets next time I still wouldn’t go. From that 1997 man I was dying to see to the guy who was on stage, avoiding the crowd at all costs, and not caring whatsoever that he was preforming, was the biggest let down ever. I knew he wasn’t the same after all these years. I’m not stupid. But I thought he’d put on some sort of show. Anything other than sitting down, turning around while talking into the mic where we can’t see him, or walking by the mic to throw the stand down wasn’t a show. It was a “I am here but you are nothing” attitude. Even his costume changes were him just throwing his jacket off on the stage and putting the next on right there. I don’t know. I’m sad over the whole thing. Every concert I’ve ever gone to was inside of a concert hall. That was the best thing this time, being outside with this venue. I’ve never been to an amphitheater before and I have to say this one is absolutely beautiful with Mt. Rainer in the back. I’d like to see other people play here someday again. This time, I’ll be prepared for an all day event! In the end, Cowface has always liked a couple Zombie songs but he was a little disappointed that being LIVE it’s not the same. I think it caught him off guard. Especially with everyone there stopping to talk to him and let him know this was once in a life time chance to be here, it may have hyped him up for something he wasn’t really into in the beginning. His normal bedtime is much earlier than when we even left. He asked if he could sleep in the car at 11PM and I said it’s fine. We got home about 11:45PM. I have no idea what our next concert will be. Let’s hope it’s someone mutual like Coldplay!

We took our first trip since moving to Seattle in August 2019 after Ryosuke finished filming for his last job. This trip was a short one. Just 2 full days. It was my first time being back in IL and seeing all of my family who’s left since my grandmother died back in 2017. It was strange not seeing her. I wish I could tell her we moved from Japan. I wish I could show her how Cowface is doing now. I wish I could give her a hug. We have been trying to hard to adjust back to America that we’ve stayed put here in Seattle except this one time. We bought a house so I’ve been fixing it up when I can. I’ve been in school and working while Cowface attended regular school and Japanese school each week.
My dad came out once to see us back in December 2019. It was his first time on a plane since the 80′s! My mom has come twice and will come again in June 2020. We also hosted our friend, Kazuhiro, from Japan in December 2019. It was his very first time on US soil. He’s only ever been to China and Japan in his lifetime. He’s such a sweet guy. I’m so glad he came but I hope he can come again when the weather is nicer. We will see, now with COVID restrictions. He did have a really hard time adjusting to food and spent a lot of time getting sick so he may not be jumping at the idea just yet.

I haven’t been updating this at all. When we moved to Seattle, Cowface had asked me to get rid of the blog. For his personal privacy I respected that and have not posted. I’ve been taking down posts slowly and trying to copy each post so I don’t lose it. I have not kept a baby book, and instead, used this. It was a good 10 year run of blogging.
It wasn’t until today when I looked at an anonymous message asking how we’ve been when I realized there were still people looking forward to updates. This took me by surprise because I wasn’t sure anyone still checked after all this time.
We’ve decided we can post his work from here on out. He doesn’t want his daily life exposed so that will not be included anymore but he agreed work posts are cool. I will also include any traveling posts we make that I remember to post. This year has been quiet for us so there won’t be many of those updated.
Today, I will upload a few posts. There are quite a few things that have kept him busy. I’ve also updated his past job on The Pill. with a link to the short film. The Disney movie, Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, is now out in Disney +! We don’t have this subscription but many do. Feel free to watch it and look for Cowface in the credits on the IMDB page!
Now for this post:
These pictures were taken in August 2019. This was the last day Cowface filmed a couple scenes for the film coming out summer 2020 called, Win a Trip to Browntown! This movie has yet to come out. It was schedule for Spring 2020 but the editing has taken more time than predicted. I assume it will be out in a few months.
We keep in touch with the cast kids and get together when we’re all available. It turned out to be a really nice group of people and the job was worth it for the friends alone we’ve made together.
He is under the IMDB page as Jonah.

~~~~PRIDE 2019 SEATTLE~~~~
I usually take video but this year I kept the phone away as much as possible. I only took it out for these moments, except, of course, I got the naked people, too. I can't post those or it’d become a reported post as many of my posts become flagged.  Cowface received a lot of attention. We were really lucky to get spots directly on the guard fence by arriving 1 hour early.  I’m so glad he proudly supports me and I'm loving his colour today! He totally decked out in rainbows from back to front and by the end of the day he had a ton of face paint on and stickers all over his back. We both came home with squid hats! Those fit us perfectly for PRIDE and our love for Splatoon 2!!
It really was a great day.
He filmed a scene back on June 19th for the newest edition to his resume, Win a Trip to Browntown! Cowface had fun but the last 2 hours he was ready to go. We were there from 850-5:30 and arrived home by 7:30. No joke about traffic! We didn't even stop for ice-cream as planned so we'll have to go tomorrow. I was really worried about his face today because of his allergic reaction but they said the make up would cover it. In all reality it couldn't. This started Tuesday night and is still going strong. We met the boy who got the part of Buzz, the one Cowface tried for and instead was given Jonah. I can see why. I wrote before how we were excited for the part of Jonah because it's very common for us to go in for one part but offered another. That's also much better than not getting one at all. Anyway, "Buzz" looked the part with the mother cast, had the voice, and was an overall better fit for the role. Cowface's role for Jonah went just as I had expected and he enjoyed himself. The difference between the Independent Films and the Major Pictures is there but with these we can post pictures and not have to wait for the release of the film. We were told we'd get a copy of the movie, the credit, and a reel for him. "The Pill" also gave reels and those are always fun to have. We had fun. Cowface enjoyed himself and I mingled with some moms with other kids his age doing the same thing. Out of anything that he's done, that wasn't the norm. No one seemed to be friendly as they were competition even when I tried. This day was different. I think the other parents were fun and accepting to give/receive tips to each other. I wish everyone the best and look forward to filming more with you in July!
“I hope Cowface had a wonderful last day. I think he had a good day. I attached some photos from his last days. I am planning to print out one of these photos to not forget Cowface. Cowface is a very special child with lots of curiosity, intelligence, warm heart, and talents! I believe that there are some parts that people will continue to carry from birth, and he has many wonderful assets that should never go away from who he is. He just needs to find right schools, friends, and grownups who see his inner beauty and cherish it until he becomes an adult. I am sure he will. Well, good luck with your new life adventure. Please keep in touch. The classroom will feel empty without him. I will miss him. Best regards,Masami”
This photo is 2 grades combined. We won’t find another school like it.
Cowface’s last day of school has finished. His teacher sewed him a heart and inside are letters from the kids that he hasn’t read. She told him to squeeze the heart if he ever feels sad and think of what the kids may have written.
This teacher was the best choice for him. I knew it from his third day transferring there. I hope she stays a teacher for many other kids who come along. She is a beautiful person inside and out.
Our move is tomorrow!
We were supposed to be on set at 3PM for his new job so we rushed out and grabbed Arby’s along the way. The first scene for Cowface was filmed inside of a public library so we waited there a while. Eventually I got word they were running late at the previous location and to find something to do to stall the time. The hospital in the city had a nice park (all hospitals should do this for those who are waiting on patients) and we spent some time there. At 4:30PM we were told to rush back and meet them on the 3rd floor. It was there that we learned the name of his character. When the script was sent over, it just said, “Grandchild”. He ended up being named “Riley”. After that one wrapped up we headed out to the second scene, a cul-de-sac. It took a while setting up and getting the best film but it was fun. Cowface didn’t want it to end. The director said she likes using the same people for her films if possible and encouraged us that there may be another role for him in the future. Cowface’s co-star, the older man, was very nice and worked well with him. I hope it turns out well for her. It’s a much different feel when you work with an independent film compared to the Disney shoot he had over the summer. Each experience is completely different and exciting for him. We will get a copy of the reel once it’s finished. This one is a short called, The Pill., directed by Meredith Esquivel.
