First, you just can not go wrong with Shane East, and he proves that once again with Nana Malone's The Saint. Kyo Sija was completely new to me, but she certainly held her own as the voice of Kaya. Both narrators did an excellent job of bringing out the drama and intrigue as well as the romance.This is the third book in the Gentleman Rogues series, and while I haven't had the pleasure of reading the first two, the storyline here is easy enough to keep up with. I do intend to catch up on those earlier books because now that I've met the Rogues, I want all the details. If they're as fast-paced as this one, I'm in for some heart-racing reading and/or listening time. As mentioned, the storyline is easy to follow, and we're given everything we need to know for this book. That said, I still hesitate to call it a standalone because there are some unanswered questions, and the epilogue leaves us with a bit of a cliffy (I'm assuming that's a lead-in for the next book).Do be prepared for plenty of action with your romance. Kaya and Saint's story has flavors of Mission: Impossible and Bourne Identity combined with a steamy romance that certainly sees its fair share of miscommunication. This pair also sees plenty of danger with some near misses and, of course, a kidnapping - once you start reading and figure things out, you'll understand that mentioning a kidnapping is not giving away the book's secrets. It pretty much has to happen with this kind of storyline. To sum it up, The Saint is everything I've come to expect from Nana Malone, and paired with Shane East and Kyo Sija for the narration, this one is a must-listen.

👑 RELEASE DAY REVIEW 👑 Thanks so much to @carrieannryanauthor, @nanamalonewriter, and @valentine_pr_ for letting me read an eARC of ENEMY HEIR, book 2 in the Tattered Royals series from Carrie Anne and Nana (but perfectly readable as a standalone).This is the second in the Tattered Royals series, but you definitely don't have to read the first to read this one (I didn't and it was fine!). Each book follows one of the Waterford siblings and their relationships, and this book is focused on the "playboy" brother, Breck. He's second oldest and lived life as the spare, but now that his parents have died and his older brother is king, he's now also the heir. He has cultivated a reputation as the bad boy, but there are big secrets about his pursuits that his family doesn't even know about. He has a hate relationship with Sparrow Bridges, part of the new security team working with the royal family (her boss married the sister, London, in book one). But they're forced to work together when a new threat materializes, and they find their hate turning to lust and maybe more. Enemies to Lovers is my favorite trope, so I definitely was interested in reading this! It was well written and had great steam, but at the same time I did just wish it was longer (these seem to be shorter novella-length books). I wanted more development of them going from enemies to lovers, whereas with the shortness of the story it happened really fast. That said, I loved meeting the Waterford family and want to go back and read book one and then continue with the series as more come out! Guess who's having the craziest week EVER?

That would be me. 

Sunday: I get dumped by my boyfriend—right before a couple's bungee jump.

Monday: My little sister informs me that she’s invited our evil, estranged mom to the wedding I’ve spent months helping her plan. 

Wednesday: In an effort to escape Massimo Igno, this creepy friend of my future brother-in-law, I somehow end up making out with a tall, dark stranger who looks like Superman’s twin.

Thursday: Tall-dark-and Superman’s-Twin turns out to be my new high-profile client, and my now totally off-limits thinks-he’s-the-boss-of-me client is demanding I drop everything to come with him to Rome. Seriously, did I hunt baby polar bears in a past life or something? What did I do to deserve this? Of course, with my sister’s wedding to plan, I tell him no. 

Friday: As it turns out, no isn’t an option. My sexy new “client” is actually a ruthless, dangerous criminal. Apparently, he and the creepy guy I was trying to dodge are arch-enemies. He’s been watching me for weeks, and he wants to use me to get to Massimo.

Unfortunately, I don’t discover any of this until after he steals me from my hotel room in the dead of night and deposits me at his remote British countryside estate.

Saturday: I decide to fight like hell to escape my gorgeous British country estate prison. 

Now, the question going into next week is, will I be able to get away from stupid-hot-villain a-hole whose stare makes my tummy do things it shouldn’t, considering he’s kidnapped me?

And what will he do to me if he catches me?
